Jon went above and beyond! His communication and attention to details/timeline was the best of all of the vendors we hired for our wedding! He made sure to emphasize the fact that it was our day and gave timeline recommendations to keep things stress free. Easy to communicate with, ask questions, work with day of. And of course, the photos are STUNNING. Delivered in a timely manner with great communication on when teasers/final album would be available. 10/10 recommend! -

After knowing Jon Kaplan as a local photographer in Snohomish, WA, we were pumped he was available to shoot our May the 4th wedding! An intimate affair on nearby Whidbey Island, our wedding still involved a bit of driving and a ferry ride. Jon was not only willing to travel, but prompt and prepared for anything at the remote location.
From the start, Jon communicated clearly and did an excellent job of determining our expectations. His extensive experience and confident yet laid back demeanor put us right at ease. With a guest list of only 50 people, it was important that we felt this level of comfort with any professional we included on our special day.
Jon was great to work with! Primed with our pre-discussed plan, he worked quickly and unobtrusively, needing little direction from the busy bride or groom. He directed us when needed, but was able to capture so many wonderful moments as the day unfolded naturally.
After keeping us in the loop of his progress during the editing process, we were more than thrilled to receive our final edits! The weather may have been a bit dreary for the springtime event, but the pictures were anything but. Jon’s editing style was nothing short of warm and inviting. Seeing all of our efforts to create a memorable experience for our loved ones distilled into his beautiful, Pintrest-worthy photos was emotional in the best way possible. Tears were shed all over again.

The experience from start to finish Jon was highly professional and easy going. The first contact was a phone call where we over what my fiancé and I were wanting for the wedding. We didn’t really have a clear idea of what we were looking, but we knew we wanted quality photos to capture our love, for years to come. Like a true professional Jon threw out ideas and recommendations for us to make the most of our time together. I would definitely recommend him to anyone looking for a photographer! Cannot say enough good things😊 -

We immediately liked Jon when he answered our phone call right away and could answer all of our questions in detail. We cannot say enough good things about Jon- from start to finish- engagement photos, communication, assisting with the day of photography plan, editing our photos, and answering any questions we had no matter when we asked. He is kind, makes you feel comfortable during a very stressful day and was able to keep us on track so we could focus on the most important part- getting married! -

We feel so fortunate to have found Jon as our wedding photographer! He captured our engagement and wedding photos like a true pro, it was so nice to be able to trust his judgement and experience during a high stress time like planning/having a wedding. Jon communicated with us through the whole process and even coordinated with our wedding planners. The pictures came out gorgeous. We couldn't be more pleased with how our photos came out. We highly recommend Jon if you are looking for a wedding photographer who has a ton of experience and will work with you to make sure your big day gets captured how you want it. -

Jon is a great professional photographer. One thing I really loved was how personable he is. He will try and get to know the people he is taking pictures of. He wants to know how his clients want to capture their experience, and I loved that! I would highly recommend Jon to capture a special moment you want to cherish. -

Jon was one of the most important people involved with planning our wedding. Not only was his photography incredible but he also was very experienced and helped us with our timeline when planning the wedding day. He is very personable, flexible, and has an eye for detail that is crucial with taking excellent photos. He was able to give us some teaser photos less than a week after the wedding and was very comunitive with the timeline on receiving the final product. He gave us edits of every picture suited for printing and for sharing online as well as a USB with all of the pictures. We would hire him again in a heartbeat and highly recommend him for engagement photos, wedding photos, etc. -

Jon did and amazing job photographing our big day! We had a big change of plans due to COVID and Jon was flexible with us and was able to make a custom plan for us and truly make our day special. He had Kyle working along with him as the videographer and they both did amazing work. They captured all of the small details and were willing to listen to what we wanted and also were creative when we were not sure on what we wanted at some points. They were a great team and had such kind and gentle attitudes. Thankful we had them on our big day, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a high quality wedding photographer & videographer. -

Planning a wedding can be stressful but working with Jon was so easy! From the moment we met him he was very easy going, friendly and welcoming. His attention to detail is incredible! During the planning process we met a few times and he was great at communicating and helping answer any questions we had! We took our engagement photos with him and it went great even though it was my husband and I’s first time taking professional photos, Jon did a great job guiding us and making us feel comfortable during the entire process.
On our wedding day he arrived early and captured every little detail of our wedding. We had such an amazing time working with Jon and plan on working with him in the future as well! -

Jon took my surprise proposal photos and the experience went great! Many pro photographers never get the chance to capture that experience. The surprise was not spoiled (except for my inevitably suspicious lady who wondered why I asked her to keep a certain Saturday open). Jon and I met at the Lord Hill Regional Park the day before to scope out the area and find an optimal spot with optimal evening lighting and spot for a picnic.
The next day, my lady and I drove to the park and I was happy to see Jon talking on the phone with his telephoto lens hidden, ignoring us to keep the surprise. Then, he followed us to the proposal spot keeping his distance and got sharp, beautiful photos of an important moment. Thank you!
He used the latest Canon full-frame mirrorless camera (EOS R) and a high end ~300mm lens, which was great to keep the quality good even with high ISO for the shady conditions. He used manual exposure settings and Spot focus, to make sure the camera focused on the right thing for the photos (not a branch, e.g.). Perfect!
We got 98 photos for $500, which I think is a good deal.
The photo choices (removing the duplicates), cropping, and editing were great. The only comment my lady and I have is that our skin had a green tint in the photos, but we could fix that in minutes in Adobe Lightroom to all 98 photos by adjusting the color balance and tint. We posted our photos on Facebook and also got printouts and our friends loved them. -

Kirstin Sent on 11/28/2017I have now worked with Jon three times, one for an engagement shoot, our wedding and a 30th birthday cake smash. I must say, Jon is the absolute best! He is an amazing photographer, reliable and fun! From the moment I met Jon at the My Snohomish Wedding Show I knew he was the photographer that I wanted to capture our perfect day. Let me tell you, this man did not disappoint!
For the engagement shoot all I knew was that I wanted it to be during fall with the changing leaves. Jon was quick to suggest a few venues and gave me time to mull them over. He happened to include the most beautiful park overlooking a lake and surrounded by trees with changing leaves. I should also include that I was a few days deep into the worst sinus infection of my life and he was still able to make me look lovely (not to toot my own horn, it was all Jon)
For our wedding Jon took the time out of his day to meet us for drinks and go over every picture I've ever pinned on Pinterest (enough said), and go through a very thorough timeline of the wedding day. He did an amazing job of catching every detail and kept everything on track, seeing as we didn't have a wedding planner. We got teasers throughout his editing process which just heightened our anticipation and kept us on the edge of our seats. When we got our photos we fell in love. He captured everything special about our day and we couldn't be more thankful.
So, I knew just who to call when I wanted to do a fun out of the ordinary shoot. My friend and I had so much fun with this shoot and somehow even though cake smashing was involved Jon somehow made us look amazing. I could't be happier with the three life events Jon captured. I would hire him over and over again. Thank you Jon, I will cherish those moments forever! -

We have a couple shots where I am laughing like a dork and he somehow made it adorable. We've had a great experience with Jon and can't wait for our wedding shots! -

He was willing to hike around our favorite park to shoot our engagement photos! We hiked up to some of our favorite locations in the park, and he did an amazing job capturing us with our dog. During the wedding he took an abundance of wonderful photos to capture the day. He listened to our wishes regarding the types of moments and background stuff we wanted to be sure were in the photos. It never felt like he was following us around, but he was always nearby if we wanted a photo with someone. The editing was beautiful, and I have no complaints about working with Jon. He did an awesome job! -
