I used Joie Blake Beauty for my wedding in April 2026 and they were excellent! After my inquiry, I had a call with Joie where she asked questions about my vision, preferences, and the rest of the bridal party. I was concerned about having a make-up artist who could handle a range of skin tones, and she completely understood where I was coming from. I was really comforted after speaking with Joie and am so glad we booked with them. Marlisa and Dara were the MUA and hair stylist for my wedding day. They were so much fun at the trial and the day of – they brought great vibes, and are so so fantastic at what they do. Dara was also totally open to some adjustments to my hair between my trial and the day of, which really made the final look exactly what I wanted. Marlisa is an absolute pro and had everyone looking amazing. Would 100% recommend them both and Joie Blake Beauty! -

I worked with Joie for hair services for my wedding! Joie was so attentive to my hair concerns on the hair preview appointment. She knew what she needed to do and was on top of everything! My hair preview was amazing, and I LOVED my hair, and it's crazy that she made it EVEN BETTER on the wedding day! Hair held up so well! I'm obsessed! My bridesmaids all loved their hair too! They said it was the best hair they've ever had!! Joie is also so sweet, enthusiastic, fun to talk to throughout the whole process! Highly recommend! -

Joie was AMAZING to work with. I would highly recommend her to anyone.
We had some issues scheduling previews, but she was extremely flexible and so willing to make things work. Joie was incredibly professional and kind. She is SO talented and made me feel so confident on my wedding day. I really felt like myself, just enhanced haha. She was really great at listening to what I wanted and making it happen.
On a more personal level, Joie is an absolute joy to be around. She brought so much peace and calmness on my wedding day. I felt so comfortable and validated by her. I felt like I could be myself. Joie truly is team bride. She knows how to support and encourage you. I cant put into words how much I appreciated her being there on my wedding day. Her energy is one in a million and it truly made a world of a difference in chaotic moments.
I would HIGHLY recommend Joie for all of your bridal party hair and makeup needs! I would certainly book with her again should I need her services again in the future! -

Best MUA Ever
Joie is one of a kind. From our first phone call to the minute I walked down the aisle she made me feel beautiful, confident, and peaceful. Her work speaks for itself - she knows how to make hair and makeup shine in the exact way you envision. What sets her miles apart is the way she will care for you. She noticed I was nervous and immediately gave me a massage which eliminated all the tension I was feeling. She kept the room lively with hilarious stories and smoothed over any tension or nerves in my bridal party with kindness and grace. Joie was God’s gift to me on my wedding day and I can’t recommend her enough! -

We hired Joie and her team for an entire weekend for three events of our South Asian wedding. Joie was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! She made me (the bride) feel so beautiful, and when I looked in the mirror I still recognized myself. Both my mom and my mother-in-law were so well taken care of by her team— their mature skin was no match for her team’s skill, they looked absolutely flawless! All of my bridesmaids ended up keeping their hair and make up looks for the reception that began nearly 10 hours after some of them got their hair and make up done and it looked just as incredible as it did at the beginning of the day. Joie created three completely unique looks for me throughout the weekend and I loved each one more than the last, I am so grateful she was a part of my team during our wedding weekend!

Joie and Emily absolutely blew us away with how kind, compassionate, and patient they are. The entire experience from our initial consultation, to our previews, to the wedding day was so easy and seamless. We even had to add on makeup for an additional person a couple weeks prior and Joie was nothing but understanding about it.
On the day of our wedding, they took the time to really understand the look us and our bridal party were going for and brought it to life even better than we imagined. Our hair looked flawless and held up perfectly throughout the entire day, and everyones makeup was stunning—natural, yet glamorous, and it photographed beautifully.
Beyond the incredible talent, Joie and Emily were punctual, professional, and such a calming presence—exactly what we needed on a busy and emotional day (they also have a KILLER music playlist). We felt completely at ease in their chairs. If you're looking for someone who truly listens, delivers high-quality work, and makes you feel like your best self, Joie Blake Beauty is the one to book! -

Amazing!!!
Joie was absolutely AMAMZING for my special day! She was timely and had EXCELLENT communication throughout this whole process. I have hated getting my make up professionally done in the past so I was so nervous to do it for my wedding. However, she absolutely SLAYED MY HAIR AND MAKEUP! Like drop dead gorgeous I belong in vogue hair and makeup. Couldn’t be more obsessed with her getting my vision down and being such a fun vibe to hype you up on your day! Joie and her team really were the dream team hype squad every bride needs for their big day! As a woman of color, it was hard for me to find an artist in my area that was able to be compatible with my hair, skin tone, and cultural preferences but this team made sure to represent my heritage and did it was such fun and style. I felt extremely comfortable with every artist I worked with and they made sure I got the look I wanted that truly was not a traditional bridal hair style! They were even able to accommodate to my head piece and jewelry. Love this glam squad so much! -

Joie did an amazing job on my wedding day makeup! She also did the makeup for my mother, mother-in-law, and bridesmaids. She was professional, kind, and very prompt. Joie and her assistant finished all the bridal party with time to spare. I received so many compliments on my makeup and every time I look back on my wedding photos I am absolutely in love! In addition, Joie has such a warm, positive, and fun energy. She is definitely someone you want to have with you when you are starting out your special day. I cannot recommend her enough! From the very moment I contacted Joie to inquire about her services, she was responsive, thorough and detailed. All other beauty vendors I contacted before just sent me a boiler plate email about pricing and some even required a full commitment and deposit before booking a trial. Joie immediately responded via email when I reached out, set up a phone call with me and then went over her process. She was the most communicative and thorough wedding vendor I worked with and always responded quickly when I reached out. I scheduled a trial first but knew there was no way I was not going to be hiring her after speaking to her on the phone. I don’t wear much makeup normally And she listened to all my likes and dislikes and made very helpful suggestions that I ended up loving. Emily did my hair and knew exactly how to style curly hair and matched my inspo pics perfectly. I was so impressed with them from start to finish and I’m so glad I found Joie for my wedding day!Joie Blake Beauty's reply:

THANK YOU JORDAN!!! Jordan is simply amazing and really captured everything I wanted for my wedding day AND MORE! She went above and beyond and I could not have been happier with my makeup. My bridesmaids and mom were beyond happy as well! She is so talented and was able to give me that natural glam for my NYE wedding. The trial went really smooth and was actually really fun! Her team is also incredible and I loved having Emily do my hair. Overall, I was beyond impressed with my makeup and hair (and lashes!) Everything stayed throughout the whole night and hours of dancing. Great high-quality products. Thank you Jordan!!! Love ya!!! -

Professional and Stylish
Working with Joie and her team was a pleasure. They were all so professional. We did a bridal trial, and Joie followed up to see how my hair lasted and asked for pictures which was great. I did make one change day of, and Emily was happy to adjust. My day of stylists were Emily and Aisa. They were the best. Fun to spend time with, and they created beautiful hairstyles for a multi cultural bridal party. I'd definitely work with Joie and her team again! -

I can’t say enough good things about Jordan and her team. They were incredible. They were punctual, organized, and not to mention we all looked amazing. I have never felt good when someone else has done my make up but I felt incredible when Jordan did mine. My bridesmaids all felt confident as well. I have never felt more beautiful than on my wedding day and it is all due to the work of Jordan and Emily who did such a fantastic job with hair and makeup. THIS GIRL. She is all-around amazing - her makeup skills, her personality, her responsiveness, just her whole vibe. She was incredible to work with, and I looked so damn good for my wedding. Jordan is a Gem, Joy and Artist all in one!
Jordan is a gem and I'm so glad we found each other so she could be a part of our special day! She has a fantastic joyful energy and phenomenal skill with makeup that just makes your heart sing - exactly what you want the morning of your wedding! I had lots of questions in our advance consultation as I usually don't wear a lot of makeup and she was so practical and open about explaining options and choices. I was going for a look that just accentuated my natural features - specifically my freckles and green eyes - and she went above and beyond even researching and ordering a new product to make my freckles pop. She obviously has a talent with all skin types and loves her craft. Thank you Jordan for letting me be your canvas! -

You WANT to book this ray of sunshine! Joie is so good at what she does. I’ve had the pleasure of working with her as both a bride and a bridesmaid, and I have loved the end result both times. Joie brings such a positive vibe to the day, and truly pampers her brides. I did two makeup previews before the wedding day, and being able to tweak things to get it just right meant Joie nailed it on the wedding day and I looked exactly how I wanted to. My makeup stayed put ALL DAY, through tears and all, and the lip touch up kit came in clutch. She and her colleague even got a *flat tire* on the way to do our makeup, and she did not let that derail the morning! She was prepared to do anything to get there. She provides such high value service and really provides a whole experience that you will be glad to have for your biggest moments. ❤️ Fan for life! -

Our experience with Joie for wedding hair and makeup was more challenging than we had hoped. While she was responsive at first, communication became difficult after we paid the deposit, our planners also had a hard time getting in touch with her. It took some time to receive a signed contract despite multiple follow-ups.
There were two occasions when Joie needed to reschedule the hair and makeup trial appointments last minute. We understand that unexpected things happen, but the changes were communicated without much apology, which was a bit disappointing.
It also took several trials to achieve the desired hairstyle, despite providing detailed instructions.
On the wedding day, the hair and makeup looked great. While we do appreciate Joie’s efforts and solutions towards the end, the overall experience was challenging due to communication issues, last-minute changes, and styling difficulties. Because of this, we wouldn’t feel comfortable recommending her services, as it added considerable stress to an already busy time.Joie Blake Beauty's reply:
Hello David,
We appreciate you leaving a review but you are unfortunately misrepresenting how the experience went and attacking my business while leaving out key and crucial details.
Because of two emergencies that occurred outside of our control, we did have to reschedule her initial preview appointment and her first re-preview. We did apologize to Giovana, and offered free services to make up for it. She ended up receiving all three of her previews, 6 total appointment services, for free. Her first preview, we welcomed her sister to join us. At her third preview, her wonderful planner joined us and we created her dream bridal look. We created custom skin and hair systems to help bring her the best results, even when having to account for August weather, which leading up to your wedding day, had been incredibly hot and humid, which does affect how hair and makeup will last.
We had to conduct three total previews because we were not being communicated properly what Giovana wanted and our solutions to fix some of the hairstyling issues were not accepted. She brought us photos of brown and champagne makeup looks when in reality, she wanted peachy pinks, which I was able to figure out for her at her final preview. I offered her a hairstyling treatment to have done BEFORE the wedding services were to be done to help with the issues she was having with her hair, but she initially declined for lack of time.
I worked closely with your wedding planning team leading up the the wedding and after a wonderful team zoom, we came up with an awesome solution to bring her the best results. Leading up to her final preview I sent her recommendations for hair masks and facial masks to help her hair and skin health outside of the appointment, which ultimately lead to great results at her final preview.
After her final preview, when the proper inspo was communicated and my suggestion to do the hairstyling treatment was accepted, she absolutely LOVED her results and we hear you did, too.
On the wedding day I arrived to her hotel one hour and 15 minutes ahead to conduct three services, for free, might I add, to properly add treatment and prep her hair for the day. Everyone’s services were done in a timely manner, with only the highest care and high quality work delivered to each client, each of whom were in love with their glam and felt beautiful and confident to be a part of your wedding.
We were completely ready for Giovana and her group 15 minutes before they even arrived to the venue. We handled each person with professionalism, care, and upbeat, positive vibes to ensure a wonderful wedding day getting ready experience.
After careful artistry and craftsmanship, I executed Giovana’s dream hair and makeup that she loved. Her hair and makeup lasted BEAUTIFULLY all night long and she was a glowing and gorgeous bride. I waited until after our contracted finish time for her to get into her dress, to make sure she felt beautiful, confident and radiating like a bride should. I carefully walked her through her fully loaded touch up kit that I provided her to keep everything gorgeous all night, so she could maintain her look with confidence. After she gave me the green light that she felt great and was ready, I then left, ensuring everyone’s experience was nothing but wonderful and professional.
I appreciate you coming to share your experience but it is important to be clear and to communicate the full story, not just some parts. Based on the experiences of my other clients, the reviews speak for themselves and every other client booked with me had a wonderful and beautiful experience in which they loved and ultimately felt that their wedding day vision was brought to life with our beauty contribution. It is so important to remember that when assessing bridal hair and makeup results, realistic expectations must be maintained and suggestions from the pros are only going to help. We made many accommodations and offered so many free things to make up for any discomfort and uncertainty leading up to the wedding day. On the wedding day, we did everything we could to bring her a beautiful experience with amazing results, that you have even acknowledged were great and lasted.
