  I haven't received my wedding photos yet, so I can't review on that. However, I can review on our engagement shoot and on the wedding day. John knows what he's doing. My husband and I are not exactly comfortable standing in front of the camera, but John helped us to get comfortable and gave us some great tips on how to photograph well. I learned that the more uncomfortable the pose, the better the photo. haha! He has a vision and knows how to get the shot he wants. Our engagement photos were great. He was able to show us some of the photos he took on the day of the wedding, and they looked pretty great! I can't wait to see them all! John is a professional and has a passion for his work. You will understand when you start talk to him about photography. Thanks John!

  John made sure to go above and beyond with us. We told him what kind of pictures we wanted and made sure to deliver that promise. He is just a brilliant photographer in our eyes and made us feel comfortable during our shoot. Many of our friends used him and we would recommend him to anyone.

  John Ly is AMAZING!!! Aside from the exceptional customer service that John Ly and his team provide, they take phenomenal pictures. Several guests came up to me after the wedding and complimented 'the paparazzi' I had hired. They missed nothing, and we're not in the way of all the guests. I did not give him a list of pictures that I wanted, I trusted his professional opinion, and I was not disappointed! HIGHLY recommended!!

  John Ly is absolutley amazing. He was a fresh breath of air. He is very professional and the best in houston as far as i am concerned. He did my bridal and wedding, My bridal turned out absolutley amazing and i cant wait to see my wedding pics! I would reccomend him to anyone.

  John Ly was a wonderful guy, very laid back but with great style. We went to his house to meet him to take us for engagement photos all over town and he was on time and came through at the wedding, we had a blast!

  LOVED the photographer. John has such a great personality - so fun to work with. My bridal portrait were amazing. He made me feel so comfortable and gave good direction. A team of his assistance shot my wedding. They were so nice and organized. Someone was always there when something was going on. I really appreciated them! I haven seen the pics yet, but I know they will be great!!! Photographers are just expensive, but he was the best I found in my price range!!! (and above my price range!!)

  I wouldn't recommend John Ly... He is very difficult to deal with... He doesn't care about what you like and doesn't keep his promises... terrible experience.

  Please do not make the same mistake that I made choosing this guy for to take your photo. He made it so difficult for us just because we didn't want to buy his frame. He didn't do what he promised and would not pick up the phone or call us back. His attitude was so bad! If we would have done it again, we would choose another vendor.

  John Ly is a liar. He will take your money and run. He will not give you the pictures or album after 6 months of waiting. He doesn't return calls, texts or emails. Very difficult to contact him after the wedding to get your album. I made the mistake of hiring him. Many vendors are now refusing to work with him because he is very unprofessional. I hope I knew it advance. Ladies, if u hear about John Ly photography. Run fast!

  Run...run fast. We made the mistake of hiring John Ly as our wedding photographer based on a recommendation from our coordinator and its the biggest mistake we could have made.
  
  Our fault for not doing more research, but if you read other reviews online, you'll see a common trend. We ended up firing him a few weeks before the wedding and it was absolutely worth the stress of finding someone else and cutting our losses. Here's a short list of what we had to deal with:
  - During our engagement shoot, he made an insensitive comment to my fiancée about the way she looks. Engagement shoots can be awkward as it is, but after this comment, it ruined the rest of the shoot. Photographers should be encouraging and try to make you feel comfortable - not put you down.
  - He smoked cigarettes during engagement shoot, and the smell lingered throughout the entire day.
  - 6 months after our engagement shoot, not a single picture had been edited or photoshopped.
  - Was almost impossible to reach via phone, text, or email.
  - After countless attempts to check the status of the engagement picture edits, he said he could not share the edits with us due to his "business policy". This was a few weeks before the wedding, and he admitted to lying - he still hadn't made a single edit and thought this reason would suffice for us. Just be honest man!!
  - Took 6 months to cash a payment. He's clearly not hungry for business if he can wait that long to process a customer's payment.
  
  We picked John Ly because of his talent and because we got a great package. There are so many talented photographers that represent their brand well and want your business; you can do better than John Ly. If you are willing to deal with unprofessionalism, unresponsiveness and a complete lack of communication, he's your guy

  Brides, please do not hire John Ly. He is a terrible liar and could not care less about your important day. He is a total used car salesman and will say anything to make you believe he is listening to you. Our engagement shoot he was late and refused to go to the locations we asked for despite the fact they were very close by. He smoked at my wedding all night and complained about the food. He cut in line to get food before my guests. I could not find him all night after the ceremony to take photos as he was outside smoking every time I asked, where is the photographer? We paid over 5000 dollars for him and it took him 10 months to get our wedding album and I still do not have the prints. He is impossible to reach and never returns your calls or texts. I can't believe we spent so much money on such a terrible liar. He will say anything to get oyu off his back and then ignore you for as long as possible. Please ladies do yourself a favor and run away from this man! All the positive reivews must be fake because we were so polite and pleasant to him throughout this whole experience and we still got taken advantage of. Now every time I look at my photos, I will only remember how much John Ly has robbed us of happy memories!
