Jo is simply the best!! Best decision we ever made was hiring her to be our wedding photographer for our 7/2/23 Crested Butte wedding. The package we purchased included an engagement shoot, so we first met Jo about a year ago. The engagement album was phenomenal, so we knew we had to hire her to capture our whole wedding weekend. Jo was with us for three days and delivered the most epic album. Her photos are stunning and she captured all the emotions of the day perfectly.
On top of her kick-ass photography skills, she is also just the kindest person. All of our guests have not stopped raving about how much they loved her and want to hire her themselves! I promise you she is the real deal and worth every penny. -

Where do we even start? Jo is incredible at her craft - from capturing beautiful candid couple portraits to all of the small important details, but on top of that she is extremely genuine, has a calming personality and truly makes each SKYLIGHT couple feel extremely valued! We know that by recommending Jo to our clients that they will be in excellent hands. Definitely hire her for your big day - it’ll be an experience to remember and you’ll have incredible images to look back on for years to come! -

Words really can't do Jo's photography justice... She (and her whole team) is extremely talented and the final photos speak for themselves! They were so professional and kept us feeling comfortable the entire time. We basically got to play around in the snow for a few hours and had the time of our lives! She also knows the terrain better than anyone else- the lighting/angles/where to go and stand/everything! The memories behind these pictures will last forever and we are forever grateful for her services... Your photographer search is over- Jo Julia is the BEST! -

From the first email, we knew she had to be our wedding photographer just because of the pure energy and talent. Then after that, she helped us plan engagement photos when we were on the opposite end of the world. She met us in the mountains to enjoy some beers at one of our favorite breweries and chose some of Colorado's most remarkable landscapes. The photos turned out phenomenal and we knew she HAD to shoot our wedding. Now we need to bring in COVID that our original wedding was cancelled. We knew however that she still had to be an essential vendor for a later planned elopement wedding in Moab.
She had zero issues with tagging along for our elopement/microwedding and even arrived early to scope everything out. She even brought her brother with her to have a family vacation and also had him help her with the wedding. If you land her and her brother for your wedding, you couldn’t ask for a better duo!
Her positivity and energy is something that every wedding needs. Her personality really helps ease any tension/stress and makes you feel comfortable. Never once did photos feel staged. She has this natural ability to just flow with the wedding while also keeping things moving to stay on schedule and to get through all the majestic shots that she envisioned when scoping out the location.
We felt throughout the entire wedding that she was part of the family! Her and her brother both are such incredible people with amazing stories. We loved them so much that we insisted after their work was done that they drop the camera, eat dinner and party with us!
If ever we need photos, we will always see what Jo is up to! We will always recommend anyone to her for their photo needs.
We thought we landed an amazing photographer, but what we didn’t know was that we found a friend as well. WE LOVE JO AND SO WILL YOU -

Best wedding decision we ever made!
I wish I could give Jo 1000 stars. She was the single best, easiest part about our wedding. We spent a lot of time looking into different photographers before deciding on her. We weighed the cost with the value, and with her style of work. Picking her as our photographer was the best decision we made. From our engagement pictures, to meeting before the wedding, to the day of, she was unbelievable. She brings this wonderful energy and excitement to the room and can take control of a excited wedding party while still having fun with everyone. Her second shooter, Nate, was also fantastic and worked so well with the groomsmen. Also, her timing is outstanding. She never took long to get photos back and would send some periodically to keep out anticipation at bay. The pictures we received were even beyond anything we could have ever expected. We can’t even begin to express how grateful we are that we had the opportunity to work with Jo. -

Jo has played a pivotal part in perfectly capturing some of our biggest moments, from engagement to wedding and now maternity. We are obsessed every time we get our photos back and forever grateful for the hard work and dedication she puts into making us feel so special and giving us memories that will last a lifetime. She is incredibly talented, has an amazing eye for fun and unique shots, provides great direction for poses that come off as effortless and natural, and has a way of making us always feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Every time we have worked with her we have had the best time and leave with sore cheeks from smiling and laughing so much. She always goes above and beyond and is truly one-of-a-kind. -

Jo was our wedding photographer last summer and delivered stunning results. Starting with our initial conversations and engagement shoot through the wedding, Jo made us feel relaxed and we had a lot of fun. She listened to what was most important to us and was able to capture all of those important moments, while also delivering shots we didn't even think about, but now absolutely love. I would definitely choose Jo Julia again and hope to do so in the future! -

I cannot emphasize enough how bless we were to have Jo Julia as our wedding photographer!! Her personality and her care towards her clients is outstanding. It's almost like she becomes part of the festivity and you don't feel like you have a stranger taking pictures. She makes sure everyone feels comfortable in front of the camera and she makes sure everyone looks gorgeous! It was just so lovely to have had such a wonderful person with us to take the best possible pictures of our milestone! Also, when she says she will be taking pictures of everything, she means it! She is also very responsive pre and post wedding day. She makes sure to know what your wedding image is and what you would like her to capture. She makes sure to capture the perfect moments of your special day. Trust me she won't miss anything! She is super amazing! Also, I want to note that she did a spectacular job at taking the important parts of our Indian wedding ceremony.

Jo is an absolutely amazing person! She shot both our engagement photos, and our wedding photos. She goes above and beyond to create the most gorgeous photos. We did not make her job easy as my husband and I hate being photographed, and we spent more time goofing around than being serious, but Jo still managed to take exquisite photos. We will definitely be using her for every occasion we will ever need a photographer for. Cannot recommend her enough!!Jo Julia Photography's reply:

Our first meeting was very comfortable and I believe this translated into our engagement photo session as well. Jo has become a great friend throughout this process and was an incredible resource to have during our journey into marriage. I am hardly able to sit still while we wait for wedding day edits, but the previews we have seen leave me with assurance that our day was captured to completion and perfection.

Jo was absolutely incredible! She has an eye for perfection and making her clients look their best! She takes the time to get to know you and build a relationship! One of the BEST decisions we made throughout our whole wedding planning process
JO. Wow wow wow!!! We are completely blown away by our pictures! You are magic! We got these right before we left for our honeymoon so we didn't really get a chance to dig in full force until we got back -- but what a great treat after all the fun has officially wrapped up. Perfect timing! Our families just love them too and have already decided we'll need an annual trip to Colorado for family photos.....assuming we can fit into your busy schedule ;)
Thank you SO much for capturing our day so perfectly. There are such happy memories written all over the photos and I know we will look back on them with big smiles for years to come.

She was maybe my 3rd photographer that I talked too and I knew that I wanted her to be our photographer 5 minutes into our phone conversation. She is so easy to get along with and really invests her time in you to make sure you get the type of photos you are looking for! She is so talented and captures so much more than a picture. We are OBSESSED with our entire wedding album. Our families and friends are equally obsessed and cannot stop raving about how great of a job she did! I would recommend using Jo for any occasion! I had so many people comment on how much they loved our photos. She did such a fantastic job of capturing the candid moments as well as the classic wedding photos.
