Working with Jessica was hands-down one of the best decisions we made for our wedding! She shot both our engagement session and our wedding day, and we could not be happier with the results.
From the very beginning, Jessica was an excellent communicator—extremely organized, punctual, and effortless to work with. She made the entire planning process seamless and stress-free. She has a wonderful gift for making you feel completely relaxed in front of the camera while still providing excellent direction. She kept us laughing the entire time, which made everything feel natural and joyful.

Jessica was a joy to work with! She was very clear with her process and options! She was flexible with us not knowing exactly what we wanted right away. Jessica was responsive and answered all our questions in a timely fashion. On our wedding day, she brought an efficient and positive, chill energy- which was exactly what we were looking for. She helped us stick to our timeline and rolled with the punches when things got off a bit. She never added a stressful energy to the day. Our pictures are vibrant and beautiful. Working with Jessica was great. We were doing a small ceremony, and just needed a half day. She was completely professional and the interview process was a real contribution to our whole event - she had us think of some things we hadn't considered that we then considered and took care of. The questions she asked really helped us get the day organized so it would be really smooth and we could just get married and enjoy being with our friends and families. We were totally ready for pictures when they happened. We got them done quickly. We were thrilled with how they came out. 10/10 recommend Jessica. -

Jessica was the perfect choice for my husband and my wedding photos. We met with her a few times prior to our wedding day and I could immediately tell she was listening to our wishes and creating a timeline that fit our needs.
On our wedding day, Jessica was a calming presence and helped us to feel at ease. She helped us with natural posing as well as getting numerous candid photos. She was excellent with our family photos as well that included numerous young children. Her patience was much appreciated!
When we received our wedding photos a few weeks later, Jessica had captured the moments of our wedding perfectly. She helped us to rally every single one of our wedding guests for a large group photo, which is one of my favorites that she captured! Jessica made my husband and I look like our true selves, and I can't thank her enough for allowing us to relive one of the best days of our lives over and over again through her photography. -

Jessica was recommended to us by a friend who is a local photographer where we live. Since we were getting married out of town (where we grew up), we needed someone who serviced that area. From the minute we first met Jessica, we were blown away by her professionalism, kindness, and flexibility.
Our wedding wasn't traditional. We both had parents unexpectedly pass away this year, so we decided to have a small, private ceremony at our parents home with more dogs as guests than humans. Not only that, but two weeks before the ceremony took place, Hurricane Helene devastated the small town where it was taking place, and even more devastation occurred where Jessica resided. Throughout it all, Jessica was very transparent and communicative and ultimately decided that she would still be able to capture our special day, even through these challenging circumstances.
We were blown away by the results! Jessica navigated through fallen trees and hurricane chaos, and captured the most beautiful day. Thanks to her, our year was blessed with a bit a hope and joy that we all needed.

Amazing experience!

Jessica is a delight to work with!! She thoughtfully plans the shoots, asks the right questions to get you thinking about what you really want, and makes the whole experience feel comfortable and fun!! We did a package where we got our engagement photo shoot and our wedding photos. After we sent our save the dates, someone told us that they thought they received an art postcard because it was so beautiful! Our wedding day was perfectly captured by Jessica! She helped everything run smoothly and on time and made sure we got all the photos we wanted without making us feel rushed. It was such a dream!!! We are having trouble deciding which photos to get printed because they are all so beautiful and dreamy!! I could keep writing all the wonderful things about her, but bottom line-- hire her. You will receive excellent quality photos, a delightful experience, and so many thoughtful touches throughout the process. -

Working with Jessica was absolutely amazing!! I contacted her for an initial consultation and within minutes I knew she was the right person for us. Jessica took on all the stress for me of thinking of angles or positions or poses. She was sweet and funny and made us feel confident and comfortable. The photos are absolutely breathtaking. She made me and my now husband look stunning! Jessica just made us feel at ease. And bless her heart she even laughed at my husbands corny dad jokes. Hahahaha! -

A breath of fresh air
We all know planning a wedding and putting your trust in vendors can be stressful and scary, so choosing who will help create the most memorable and important day is not taken lightly. Thankfully, we never feared using Jessica as our photographer. She was our photographer that captured our proposal at the Biltmore, and immediately knew we'd love for her to capture our wedding. She is very professional, but is extremely personable and down to earth. She is punctual and detail oriented, which were two of her many qualities that I, as the bride, was extremely thankful for. I cannot recommend Jessica enough, whether it is for your proposal, engagement, or wedding, she is an amazing photographer and person! -

Jessica is an absolutely amazing photographer! We hired her for our wedding and she beautifully captured our day! We wanted both traditional posed photographs and candid photos, and that is exactly what she gave us. We laughed and cried while going through our wedding photos because of all the emotions present in her photos.
Jessica is also a pleasure to work with. She quickly responded to all of our emails and was always so helpful. I also appreciated her calm presence during our wedding day. We fell behind schedule a bit early in the day, and not only did she keep me from feeling stressed about being behind, she got us back on schedule no problem!
We highly recommend Jessica and we work with her again in a heartbeat! -

Jessica goes above and beyond to make sure she captures your special day. From the initial phone call, she wants to know about you and what you envision for your wedding. She does a lot of prepping so that way there is no stress when it comes to the actual wedding day. Amazing Experience
Working with Jessica was amazing. I was planning a destination wedding in NC from Florida and didn’t know where to start. I started following photographers on Instagram that my venue tagged in posts. I immediately connected with Jessica’s style. When I talked to Jessica on the phone it was like talking to a friend. I knew she was the right photographer for us. After booking in 2019 Jessica was incredibly flexible when we needed to reschedule a whole year due to Covid. During the year delay Jessica sent thoughtful emails, messages and gifts to stay connected. On the actual wedding day, almost 2 years after booking, Jessica showed up like the friend we’d been waiting for. She made my husband and I feel so comfortable. She gave us space to enjoy every moment and captured the day perfectly through her photographs. The candid photos, family pictures, and wedding pictures are perfect. Our experience working with Jessica was as amazing as her pictures. Thank you!! -

Wow is all I can say. From our first meeting to our pre-wedding / engagement pictures to our wedding I always knew Jessica had everything in control. Letting her do her thing and capture everything was my best decision for the entire life event. Jessica is amazing! We were supposed to have pictures done with another photographer who cancelled last minute. We had asked her If she could possibly do our photos last minute and she went above and beyond to accommodate us! Within hours of contacting her we were taking pictures! She had great ideas and the pictures turned out incredible! I would highly recommend using her! You will not regret it at all! We will be using her for all of our pictures from now on! -

Excellent experienced Photographer
I choose this photographer for her style, and flexibility with pricing and my preferences initially. She came highly recommended by Carmela Occasions and Creations, as well as numerous vendors, including The 1927 Lake Lure Inn, where I was married. Jessica was punctual, creative and ready to capture our wedding. Her experience, professionalism and creativity help capture all the moments we most wanted in our wedding. We had a Bermuda island meets the North Carolina Mountain theme to celebrate the bride and grooms family roots, and she captured it all so beautifully. I would highly recommend Jessica as your photographer. Our wedding was Feb. 29 2020 and we are in the process of ordering our books and photographs. It's easy to share the link for family and friends who may wish to see the photos as well as buy them. As we live in Bermuda, Jessica has made it an easy process to do business internationally. We did not have a chance to meet Jessica before the wedding, as it was a destination wedding but she did a lovely job. Out-of-state wedding, November 2019
We had a great experience with Jessica, not only on our wedding day, but before and after it as well. We live in FL, but were getting married in Andrew's NC, so we never actually met Jessica until our wedding day. Regardless, she always communicated with us well during the planning phase, answered all of our questions timely, and was a pleasure to speak with. On the big day, she worked seamlessly with our coordinator, and got so many amazing pictures during our ceremony and our reception- never missing a moment. She knew we were stressed about getting a few photos at the top of a mountain before sundown (attached), so she worked very hard to get all other photos taken on time - all without making us feel the least bit rushed - and then took us to our favorite location and got some stunning shots. Once all was said and done, Jessica gave us previews of photos while she worked, and kept us informed about when she was going to have the photos ready by, and how we can get them to our friends and family. She worked quickly to get us our photos in a timely manner (even got them to us earlier than the expected date, actually). They were stunning, and were so fun to look at because she captured a lot of moments that we missed during the hustle and bustle of the day. After all of that, she worked with us to put together a beautiful photo album (part of our package with her). She put it all together, confirmed the layout, photos, album cover, and lettering style with us, and sent it out around Christmas. She even emailed us beforehand to make sure we were going to be home for the holidays to receive it and offered to delay sending it out until we got home if we were planning on leaving town. All in all, Jessica was the perfect photographer. We never had any concern and never felt like we needed to stress over what pictures will be captured or where she will be on the day - it was nice to feel confident that leaving Jessica to her own devices would result in beautiful, thoughtful, and memorable photos. Jessica was an absolute joy. From our first meeting at a brewery we knew she was the person for us. It was important for us to not just have someone that takes incredible photos (which she does) but also someone we enjoy spending time with because you will spend the day with this person. Jessica did our engagement and wedding pictures and we had concerns with our body image in the engagement pictures. We expressed our concerns and Jessica notes them and helped us pose in our wedding photos accordingly. Also Jessica WORKED. This girl did not rest she was go go go the whole time and made sure we got all the pictures we wanted in the 5 hours we had booked with her. I can’t say enough nice things about Jessica, she is a fantastic photographer and a wonderful human being. What more could we ask for? -

We Loved Jessica Merithew Photography!
We had looked around for a photographer for a while. Some didn't fit what I wanted, several were out of our price range, and one would just never answer emails. And then we found Jessica! She was very affordable, exactly on time (even early!) for everything, answered every single email, call, and numerous questions we had. Jessica made family photos flow so well and even though my husband and I have tons of solo pictures from that day, she made it seem like it only took seconds to pose us and take the picture. Our wedding day was very overwhelming (but with good things!), and Jessica made her part of the day seamless. I would definitely hire her again. -

Best Part of Asheville Marriages
Working through Asheville Marriages, we were pretty much directed by them into using Jessica for our photographer. Fortunately, she was amazing. She was totally responsive to us and what we wanted throughout the whole wedding process. She contacted us early in the process, set up a meeting as soon as we arrived in Asheville, was more than willing to take a few extra shots before the wedding for our press article and took wonderful pictures. She worked with us to get some great shots of us and our dogs (even though the one tried to bite her on their first meeting). She offered multiple purchase options, but was never pushy about it. We would use her again in a heartbeat. Thanks Jessica--we really appreciated it. -

Everything was great: value, service, and photos
Jessica was very professional and gave great recommendations to make our mountain top first look go smoothly before the ceremony. I knew so much could go wrong but she was mindful of this by allotting extra time so our timeline stayed on track. Overall the two aspects I was most impressed by was the value and thoughtfulness of her service. The value for the quality of her work is absolutely unreal. If you are having doubts about booking Jessica, you should reconsider. She is very friendly and considerate and was fantastic to work with. Even our family enjoyed her. Not to mention she was able to direct our large and crazy family for group photos! I knew we picked the right photographer from the very beginning when we received kind gifts throughout the entire process. Our decision was confirmed when we viewed our photos for the first time. We couldn't be happier to have worked with Jessica. -

My wife and I worked with Jessica for our wedding at Brahma Ridge Event Center in Candler, NC. We are from Pennsylvania so we were unable to meet Jessica in person prior to our wedding day but by the time the day arrived we already felt like we knew here and were extremely comfortable leaving the memory of our wedding in her hands. She was a pleasure to work with, extremely communicative, and even sent us little gifts throughout the process that added a really nice touch to the process. From beginning to end, Jessica knew what she was doing, helped us get clear on what we wanted, communicated well and did a wonderful job capturing our wedding day the way we wanted her to. She listened to our ideas/requests and also did a good job offering suggestions or balancing our ideas with her experiences and knowledge from being a part of so many weddings and was very easy to work with. Great experience, beautiful photos!
Jessica captured both our engagement and wedding photos, and we could not have asked for a better experience. Our wedding was a destination wedding, and she helped make the entire process easier. She was always willing to offer up vendor suggestions and even helped me find a last-minute hair stylist for our engagement photos. When our engagement photos were almost rained out, she was flexible with timing and location so we could still have them done while we were in town. Her prices are very reasonable and she even sent us gifts and notes throughout the process :) The pictures themselves are beautiful and we love the album she had made for us as well! -

Not only did she take time to get to know our personal style and preferences, what hobbies we shared and how we met but she also brought a quiet but engaged presence to the wedding itself. Jessica knows how to be right there for the shot and yet not at all in the way. She caught the joy and the happiness of our wedding without requesting or interrupting a thing. Not only that but she was willing to show up a hour early on short notice to beat the rain! She provided us with more shots than we expected and each one is personality plus. How to choose?! Highly recommend Jessica.

She understood that we didn't want photographers in our face all day and offered a small package that fit our desire/budget that most other photographers didn't. She was easy to work with and on the day of she was never "in the way" and we magically ended up with some beautiful photos of our special day which is exactly what we wanted!
