Jen Yuson is an absolute dream! She handled our wedding day with grace, positivity, and ease, managing our family and 240 guests effortlessly. Group photos were relaxed and fun, with everyone laughing naturally, and she even worked wonders with children and babies.
Her eye for perfect lighting and capturing genuine moments made our wedding memories unforgettable. As a wedding planner, I’ve seen countless photographers, and when my husband proposed, I knew immediately that Jen was the one to document our day.
Thank you to Jen and her wonderful husband for creating photos we’ll cherish forever. Ten out of five stars! -

Hiring Jen was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding day! From our first conversation to the final delivery of photos, Jen was professional, kind, funny, and incredibly talented. She took the time to understand our vision and personalities and captured every moment beautifully.
We’re lucky to have awesome engagement photos, bridal portraits, and wedding photos by Jen. We had to move our wedding from Asheville to Winston-Salem due to Hurricane Helene, and Jen was able to still photograph our wedding despite the venue change. She made the transition to a new venue seamlessly, and put our minds at ease in a stressful time.
On the wedding day, Jen made us and our guests feel so comfortable in front of the camera. Her ability to blend into the background while still capturing candid, emotional moments was impressive. She also has a fantastic eye for lighting, and we have some gorgeous photos of our ceremony during golden hour. When we received the photos, we were blown away! Each picture felt like a work of art, telling the story of our special day so perfectly. The turnaround time for the edited photos was quick, and the quality was outstanding. The system she uses to share photos allows them to be separated into sections and sort by facial recognition, which made the process of finding specific photos simple. We highly recommend Jen to anyone looking for timeless, stunning wedding photos! -

We are so happy that we chose Jen Yuson to be our wedding photographer! On our first intro call she was very personable and outgoing so we knew she had the vibe we were looking for in a photographer. After the call she sent us a draft wedding timeline so she was also clearly organized and responsive. We interviewed a few photographers but for these reasons Jen was our first choice. From the moment she arrived on the wedding day the whole process of taking photos went extremely smoothly. We got married at the Inn on Biltmore Estate and since she has photographed at the Biltmore before she was familiar with all their rules and knew all the good spots for picture taking. She also has a great eye for details and lighting and took some great detail shots too. During portraits she was great at corraling the wedding party and family into picture groups and always had a funny quip or question to get people laughing for more natural smiles and to make people feel more comfortable and look relaxed in photos. During the ceremony and reception she was definitely not intrusive and captured some great pictures without getting in the way of us or guests having fun during dinner and dancing. To top it all off, she starting posting some pictures to social media only a few days later and delivered all our wedding photos within four days! We were so excited and amazed to receive them back so quickly and there was definitely no compromise in the quality of the photos from the quick turnaround. The pictures were so beautiful and we're so happy to have them to remember our wedding day for years to come! -

Our wedding was the best day, and we will always have such vivid memories of it thanks to Jen and her amazing photographs. She was able to make me and my husband feel so comfortable in front of the camera (coming from two people who do not like to have our pictures taken), resulting in so many great shots of the two of us and our family and friends. She was also quick to lean in to our unserious personalities and got some amazing couples pictures that perfectly captured each moment. Some of my favorite shots are of us laughing hysterically or cracking a joke. With the band in the background at the reception, you can feel the energy and almost hear the music through the pictures. We knew by the end of the day that we would have fabulous pictures and, due to an unexpected connection over DnD, we left feeling like we had made a new friend as well. I would recommend Jen for any occasion where you want incredible photos, a high attention to detail, helpful insight into framing and posing, and just a great person to spend a couple of hours with to boot. -

Absolutely loved our experience with her. Me and my partner don't typically take pictures, we were afraid our couples photos after the ceremony would be awkward. Jen made the couples photos a fun and joyful experience. The photos were beautiful, she got everything we wanted and more. We loved her, our guest loved her and we will for sure be using her for any professional photos! -

Jen was phenomenal to work with! Her photography style is gorgeous and I felt like she really captured who we are as a couple. We had an engagement shoot at Black Balsam Knob and she photographed the day of our wedding. She was on time for both events and made us feel so at ease. She also helped save the day by getting us back on track after hair and makeup was running behind schedule.
Jen’s communication and organization are exceptional. She responded promptly to emails & texts and also had timelines that helped me stay organized while planning. Having her as our photographer was the most stress free part of wedding planning!
I would 100 percent book her again and can’t wait to in the future for other occasions. Jen is sweet, personable, professional and amazing at what she does! Her turnaround time was super quick and I love how user friendly her photo galleries are. She even includes a link to make things easy to share with friends and family. Her services are worth every penny!! -

I made the best decision besides the "I do" by hiring Jen to photograph my wedding. The intimate moments she captured during the day were absolutely stunning, thanks to her eye for detail. Jen arrived at the venue early to find the best spots for the best pictures, which showed her professionalism. Along with that, she has a wonderful personality that puts one at ease. She made our couple's portraits easy and fun and even managed to get 6 kids to look at the camera! I'm extremely happy with our photos and will cherish them forever. I guarantee you'll have a great experience too if you work with Jen. -

She is incredible!!
Jen was absolutely amazing to work with. We only have positive things to say! . She was incredibly flexible with us when the weather made our engagement shoot a little tricky.
She made everyone feel so comfortable during the wedding photos, and was able to balance traditional photos with silly and loosening everyone up! She was able to 100% meet my vision, and really made me feel like we were in a fairytale! -

Jen Yuson is hands down the best photographer! Her photos are exquisite and she has incredible talent. Best of all, she's talented PLUS a dream to work with. I was a very anxious bride and wanted to double, triple check a-lot of our plans. Jen was kind, compassionate and so incredibly responsive. While I was not hearing back from other vendors and having to hunt them down, Jen always responded. Jen is so on top of it! Photos are easily the most important part of your day and to have someone who you feel confident will execute everything exactly as you imagine it is crucial. Every time I was stressed, Jen brought me so much peace and comfort with her quick and thorough help and suggestions, with ZERO judgment! She never once made me feel like a crazy bride (like many other vendors did) but validated all of my feelings. I couldn't recommend her enough!! Plus as I mentioned, the photos are just DIVINE! -

I am beyond thrilled with the gorgeous photos Jen took of my daughters wedding!! The photos are absolutely stunning!!! Jen is truly an artist with the camera. She chose the most beautiful compositions for couple portraits, and she was absolutely wonderful at making people feel relaxed and having fun. Her professionalism and experience is clearly evident. She was so professional and organized with the contract process, and her presentation of the wedding album was beautiful, and easy to navigate. Her attention to detail is second to none. I love the casual portraits she took of family members too. Some, like the one of my parents, I will treasure forever.
I loved her bubbly, fun personality. I feel so blessed and lucky that she photographed this joyous occasion for us. -

We love Jen! We had her do our engagement photos, rehearsal dinner, and wedding day and we would hope to be able to book her for any other shoots the rest of our life! I'm the third of my siblings to get married in 2 years and my whole family was just blown away by how wonderful the photos are, how reasonably priced it was, and how amazing Jen was to work with. She is a ray of light who makes everyone shine-- truly infectious and kind so people relax and start laughing in her presence. We loved how transparent her prices are, how flexible she is, and just, my god, the quality of the photos! When we had to switch things up because of road closure she whipped out ideas so quickly and even came to my parents' house for some photos! And it rained in the middle of our wedding and she was fearless and a champion and we have the most beautiful photos of dancing in the rain. She is the absolute best; book her! -

We are so lucky to have Jen in our lives! I say that because not only did she photograph our engagement and wedding I feel like she became a friend during the craziness of planning our wedding during COVID. It was so easy to get in touch with her to work through multiple reschedules and planning the perfect pictures. She captured the emotions of our wedding and our personalities perfectly! We’ve already scheduled our next session with Jen and I foresee many more in our future.

Jen and Shawn were outstanding, and we love the memories they captured for us. They had a remarkably fast turn time on the photos too - we spent many hours on long train rides on our honeymoon scrolling through all of the pics and laughing at the shots they captured of us and our friends and family.
While the photography and organization/coordination were top-notch, we'll also always remember how much of a part of our big day Jen and Shawn were. They were helpful, friendly, and fun, and I'm glad we had the opportunity to get to know and work with them.

Kathryn Sent on 07/25/2018Jen and Shawn are delightful to work with - they’re flexible, professional and right away you can tell that they care. They care about their craft and about helping you capture this important moment in your life from candid expressions in your vows to like vignettes of the ambience and mood of your reception. They are also really creative and adaptive - capturing elusive lighting in the gardens, magically making the uninvited gnats appear and finding perfect improvised props for a photo - and they’d never even been to my venue before. Jen made posing really easy (something I was nervous about) and her suggested improvised poses yielded some of my favorite photos. The day of your wedding can be a real whirlwind, and I can’t describe how wonderful it felt to look through the photos afterward and have all those little details waiting there for me.

My husband and I had to change our wedding date 2 times due to various reasons, and Jen worked with us to make sure she would be available each time. She was SO patient with us during the process! While we had a smaller intimate wedding, I know our families can be hard to manage at times. But Jen and Shawn did an outstanding job mixing both professionalism and humor to make everyone feel relaxed and comfortable. So, her service was incredible in this way as well. She was very responsive to each of my emails through our tenure.
Onto the photos...ummmmm I am SO happy with them. My husband and I couldn't be happier. This dynamic duo are simply talented. They worked with the space and lighting and the outcome was hundred of truly amazing shots of my family and us. Just WOW!!!! Don't hesitate...book Jen Yuson for your special occasion. -

Allison Sent on 11/18/2013Our best decision of the whole wedding process. We absolutely adore Jen and her husband Shawn. Our photos are stunning! It was important to us to spend a little extra on a great photographer in order to preserve the memories of such a monumental day... And we are so happy we did! Our portraits capture the feel and emotion of the day. Our wedding party photos also portray the personalities of each of the close friends we wanted as part of our day. When it comes to responsiveness and flexibility, Jen is top-knotch. She had our photos edited and uploaded to be viewed within a week's time. Any questions or concerns I had leading up to our wedding day were responded to within 24 hours. Because our venue did not have a lot of natural light during the winter months, Jen was able to work her magic to keep our photos esthetically pleasing to the eye. She and Shawn blended in to the scene and could have passed as guests of the wedding. Due to our own busy schedules, Jen and Shawn came to Nashville to take our engagement pictures for a very reasonable fee. Looking back, we are so happy to have our engagement pictures in the area where we were living. Our wedding was almost a year ago now. I periodically look through our wedding book (which is divine quality, btw) and the flood of emotions from the day overwhelm me. That, folks, is how you know you have wonderful photos! I cannot recommend them enough! We look forward to looking up Jen and Shawn whenever we return to the Asheville area to visit. -
