JaCivas is masterful in creating wedding cakes. From our first meeting with Madison, to the taste-testing and the delivery of our lovely two-tier cake, the experience was wonderful. The chef at Portland's White House recommended JaCivas, particularly as we needed a two tiered cake for a smaller wedding - it was perfect! Lots of compliments from guests about how delicious the cake was, as well! I highly recommend JaCivas - what a fabulous experience. -

My cake was absolutely delicious! I ordered a really big cake, four tiers, and the delivery men made sure everything was properly set up. When it turned out the cake was too big for the fridge they gave us all the information we needed to know to leave it out and made sure we knew what signs to look for that the cake was getting too warm. When I was designing my cake they were amazing as well. I don't think I went with a single ordinary pairing. I took elements from several cakes, changed colors and design, and definitely mixed and matched cake and filling flavors. They made the whole process super simple and never made me feel like I was asking for too much. Everyone at the wedding loved the cake and I cant wait till my free anniversary cake so I can eat more! -

First things first, I don't really like cake. There is generally too much frosting and too much of a sugar overload and too much of a fake flavor. Needless to say, finding a wedding cake wasn't something I was looking forward to. Well, until I went to JaCiva. The cake there was so remarkably good that we had a hard time picking the flavors for our wedding. We ended up going with a three-tier cake with a different flavor at each layer and requested that we, the bride and groom, get a slice of each to share because we couldn't decide on what we wanted. I also have never seen an entire cake eaten at a wedding until I got married. There wasn't a single slice yet, which is the defining sign of a good cake. Not to mention, it was GORGEOUS. The gold and white melted into each other perfectly creating an elegant and stunning cake. -

Just go try the cake. It was a pretty easy decision after that. We did a teal ombre two tiered cake (one white layer and one poppy seed layer) - it was beautiful and delicious! -

Our cake was delicious! We only wish we could have enjoyed more of it.
I had a distinct vision for our cake and they took my admittedly lame drawing and made it come to life. Our only complaint was the purple color was a little bit darker than preferred. The chocolate flowers on the cake were beautiful.
We also ordered chocolate daisies on lollipops. They were delicious, made a nice guest favor and added color to the tables. The colors matched perfectly.
The delivery was on-time and organized. However, there was a fee to come to Oregon City. -

We got married at Silcox Hut at Timberline Lodge. They have a contract with JaCiva’s for their wedding cakes. We were a bit nervous about that, as we wanted autonomy in choosing our bakery - but after the cake tasting it became clear that we would’ve hired JaCiva’s regardless of contract. The cake was delicious. They had Oregon-specific options, like hazelnut or marionberry filling. I wanted blush ombre icing, and was a little worried that it would be out-of-control pink, but it was subtle and classy, as promised. Delicious! We are going to have a mini-cake made every year for our anniversary. -

From our consultation to the wedding day, the staff at JaCiva's maintained a high level of professionalism and quality. The tasting was difficult because everything was so great, it was hard to narrow it down to our favorites. We ended up choosing three different flavors of mini cupcakes so our guests could try them all, and we also had a two-tier wedding cake for our cake cutting. They showed up early to the venue and set up a lovely display of the cakes, and our two-tier cake looked exactly like the photo we brought in to the planning meeting. They've been doing this for years and they know what they're doing! A huge bonus they offer is a FREE anniversary cake if you return their dowels and serving materials! -

I chose JaCiva's Bakery for my wedding cake from the recommendation of my wedding planner. I was NOT disappointed. The cake was so beautiful. It was exactly what I had asked for. It was delicious, moist, flavorful, and very impressively decorated. The cake decorators did an outstanding job and I couldn't have been happier. They helped make my wedding perfect. I was so thrilled with JaCiva's that I ordered my niece's 16th birthday cake from them as well and they did a jaw-dropping job on the steampunk theme I requested. I would recommend JaCiva's to anyone.. anytime.. hands down the best bakery in Portland! -

Great tasting cake. Only drawback was they don't deliver outside of the Portland Metro area but we were able to pick up the cake and take it to the coast ourselves with no problems. -

Our cake was gorgeous and delicious. They were even able to take a color swatch from our wedding colors so that it would be incorporated into the design. We also got a groom's cake which look phenomenal and also tasted delicious. -

We felt we had the best wedding cake we've ever tasted at any wedding. We did 4 layers, all different kinds. It was so moist and fresh! 7th Heaven was our biggest layer and it was so fabulous. They advised us very well about size for our number of guests. And, you can get a fresh top layer for your anniversary if you bring back the supports, so you can be serve all of the layers at the wedding. -

They were great! Easy to work with from the start! I got excellent assistance during my tasting. The wedding coordinator brought a plate with a sample of about 8 of their most common cake/filling combinations. We had a great experience with this--other bakeries simple gave us a few slices of stale cake and filling that tasted like jam. You can tell that JaCiva's has a lot more experience in this area, as they also brought us coffee and had far more photo samples of their work. As for the end result, the cake was gorgeous--I hated to cut it! And absolutely delicious! Probably the best cake that I've eaten in my life. -

If you want delicious cake then don't go anywhere but JaCiva's. Delicious, beautiful, and surprisingly affordable. They did a cake topper and 110 cupcakes for less than $400. Amazing. -

Wow! What a great wedding cake! My wife was able to select the perfect cake. It was so beautiful and very delicious with a great texture. I can't wait for our one-year anniversary when JaCiva's will bake a fresh cake so we don't have to pull an old nasty frozen cake out of the back of the freezer. What a great idea! I highly recommend Jaciva's bakery for any cake need that you may have. Not only is it completely melt in your mouth fantastic, but they do such amazing work to make it look just the way you want it to look too! I can't say enough good things about Tami! She helped me so much with finding the perfect wedding cake for my husband and I to share with our guests. The cake was beautiful and tasted so great. The groomsman cake was also really cool looking. Tami really heard all of our ideas for it and it was far better than I ever imagined it would be. Thank you so much for making my wedding day and the rehearsal dinner extra special with your yummy cakes. I really can't say enough good things about them. And, I keep craving them. Our cake was so beautiful and so good. We opted for a non-traditional look (white frosting roses completely covering the cake) based on an internet photo I saw. Not only was the cake perfectly executed but the red velvet was delicious. -

We go to JaCiva's for most of our cakes and chocolates so we didn't have to think hard about them as our wedding cake. We were so happy with the results. They also give you a free anniversary cake if you return the cake stand. -

JaCiva's was amazing! The cake was great, we got nothing but compliments on it. The staff was friendly and available. We changed our wedding date twice and even the location once. They had no problem adjusting to our changing requests. They have been in business a long time and it isn't hard to see why. -

Our cake was included with our venue and they use JaCiva's. The cake tasted wonderful and was so pretty. They worked with us with what we wanted and offered advice as to what would look good. We chose red velvet and chocolate fudge as the 2 flavors and both tasted great. I like that they don't use fondant and the cake was poured with chocolate instead, which tastes much better! They even give you a gift card for a free topper on your one year anniversary so you don't have to freeze the top of your original cake. -

WOW!! AMAZING CAKE!!! We have been using JaCiva's bakery for 20 years, and have never had a bad experience! So, it was easy to choose a wedding cake from them, and it was beautiful!! People commented that it was one of the most lovely cakes they had ever seen. And then they tasted it... and loved it even more! We had people going back for seconds and thirds just to taste all the flavors of each tier. I would highly recommend this bakery... you get excellent cake for a reasonable price, and they are so kind and easy to work with! We also used them to create our candies for the gift boxes, which came out perfect as well! This is a small, local business still owned by the same ma and pop that started it years ago, and deserves support to keep on making delicious desserts!!! -

The cake turned out beautifully. We had given the bakery a challenge with the color of the butter cream. They came though with flying colors.
The tiers were perfectly off-set and decorated with white chocolate calla lilies.
I would only make one recommendation for future brides. The bottom tier was "Pink Champagne". The taste was incredible. However, if you plan to have this flavor, make sure that the cake is cut shortly after arrival....and hot weather is not a friend to this flavor.
It was basically a loss.....it was simply too warm in the room and the cake had been out too long. The other layers (poppyseed and white) held up fine. The Pink Champagne is simply too delicate to wait that long and get as warm as it did.

JaCiva's has an excellent reputation in Portland, Oregon. After planning my recent wedding, I understand why. Jaciva's offers not only cakes, but their professional advice. They have a knack for customer service and are flexible. My sales rep Tami was extremely professional and willing to work with my vision and last minute ideas. They have everything displayed in their showroom, they have their flavors available on hand for tastings, and their price lists are easy to read and understand. They offer delivery and set up to your venue (for a fee). This was one of our easiest and most favorite wedding planning experiences. -

My husband and I had an idea for a cake, but it was out of our budget. So we tried to simplify the design to get it into our price range -- and then the lady who was helping us asked us if we were only doing that to save money. We of course said yes, and then she told us to not no bother because she was going to make us our dream cake for our budget because we deserve to have our dream cake. It was so awesome! -

My Mom and I were able to try all of the cakes ahead of time. They created the most beautiful cake for my husband and I, and all I did was bring them a photograph of one of their cakes I loved from a bridal show. It tasted great too! Fabulous!! I would hire them again in an instant! -

Our cake was AMAZING and truely the most beautiful cake I've seen. We had a different flavor for each of our 4 tiers... Each flavor was incredible. All our guests loved it. JaCivas also provided us with some custom made wedding cookies with thank you chocolates in a cute little bag as our favors. The cookies were out of this world as well as the choc. We had interaction with almost every employee during the year run-up to our wedding and find it hard to express in words how wonderful every single person was. Our wedding cake and cookie wedding favors were delicious and beautiful, undeniable proof of why you are Portland's best bakery. They are so awesome! My cake was beautiful! It tasted really great as well! We had no problems scheduling a time to go in for a tasting, and they worked really hard to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. The end result was a beautiful 4-tier masterpiece of 2 tiers each of lemon poppy seed cake w/ raspberry creme filling, & pink champagne cake w/ pink champagne filling. After my wedding I've gone back several times for various occasions- we like to get a special cake every year on our anniversary. They even give you your first anniversary cake free when you order your wedding cake there. They have a really great selection. -

For years I have kept a picture of the wedding cake I dreamed of. Not only was JaCiva's able to reproduce it, but the flavor of the cake was incredible. We were shown books of the styles of cakes they have done in the past. We also were given samples of the different flavors. They have an enormous selection of flavors to choose from each one more delicious than the last. We not only chose the flavor of cake but the flavor of icing! JaCiva's is also a chocolatier, so if it can't be formed in icing it can be in chocolate. The staff was courteous, attentive and professional. The store was exceptionally clean.
Everyone at our wedding raved over the cake when they saw it. When they tasted it they couldn't get enough. We could have just served the cake it was that good!
We have since gone back on a Friday night to enjoy scrumptious desserts in their new back room. The room is set up with tables and chairs so you can sit and enjoy a full selection of tasty treats. Yummy yummy!!! You have to try the chocolate fondue, I'm still dreaming of it. -

I went to Jaciva's for my cake because I used to work there and knew how amazing their service is! It's a family owned business who works with you in every way possible to get the cake just the way you like. And the flavors are amazing! I recommend tasting the pink champagne. You can ask them to deliver and set up the cake for you. Also, as a bonus for returning the cake boards, you get a free 1st aniversary cake to look just like the real one, so there is no need to freeze the top tier! -

Our cake was absolutely stunning and surprisingly delicious. We had so many guests comment on the quality of the cake. We had a 3 tiered cake with white/raspberry filling (surprisingly my favorite), german chocolate on the 2nd tier and poppyseed with berry top tier. All delicious. I love love this bakery. I usually got my birthday cakes from there when I was living in Portland and so I was super excited to have them make my wedding cake(s), too. I had them make two of their two-tiered cakes for my culturally blended wedding as well as my Cambodian wedding. They were able to accommodate the intricate details and match the pictures I had presented to the T. The cakes were, of course, delicious and I loved the flavors they offered. They were super nice and professional from start to finish. The only setback was that the platform for the cake extended out a couple inches from the size of the cake stand but it wasn't that big of a deal because I know they make quality cakes. We had their banana cake with fresh banana filling, champagne with champagne swiss cream and fresh strawberries as well as my favorite poppyseed cake with raspberry cream filling. Everybody said they enjoyed the cakes as well! Oh yes, and they even made a caricature of our fur-baby corgi for the cake that looked awesome. Would definitely recommend them! -

If you want a beautiful and delicious cake you HAVE to go Jaciva's!!! We found Jaciva's at a wedding show and I fell in love with the cake itself. My fiance and I went in to have a taste test and look at decorating option and fell more in love. The cake decorator (sorry forgot her name) was super friendly and definitely has the heart of an artist. She feels out what you want makes suggestions and overall makes your perfect cake! The ONLY thing I would say was when discussing the cake, the way she took notes was all over the place. When I checked in about a month before the wedding we had to go over things and she took more notes so she could understand what she wrote before. She ended up doing an almost 100% perfect cake, The color gradient up the cake was not quite as dark as we had discussed and in the picture she drew but in the end it was a minor thing and didn't matter. The cake was beautiful and it tasted beautiful. They were on time, reasonably priced compared to other bakeries (I did a 2 tier cake and 2 half sheet cakes) and by far the best tasting. I would highly suggest supporting this great, classic, family owned company!! -

We chose JaCiva's to make our wedding cake based on their reputation and our cake-tasting experience. They are well known in Portland as being one of the best for wedding cakes, so we knew that our cake would be wonderful. We came to our tasting with an inspiration picture that showed a larger cake than we needed. Madison was great about using the photo as a starting point to create a smaller cake for us that was similar to the one in the photo. For our two layers we chose poppyseed cake with vanilla cream and raspberry filling, and fudge cake with Bavarian cream filling. Both flavors were delicious, but in the end the layer that stood out was the poppyseed. It was out of this world, and our wedding guests raved about it! JaCiva's delivered our cake to the venue in Camas, and it arrived on time and in perfect condition. I do think their cakes are a little too high in price, but we were willing to spend a bit more for the peace of mind in knowing that our wedding cake would be perfect. -

My fiance and I didn't have a lot of time to shop around for wedding vendors, so JaCiva's was the only bakery we cake-tasted. With that said, if we didn't enjoy the cake, and/or had bad customer service, we would have moved on to other options. Even though there were only 9 basic cake flavors to choose (and 3 of them were chocolate--light, dark & red velvet), there was a long list of filling choices. When we first went in for a consultation, my fiance and I had one design idea in mind. On the way home, my fiance suggested a completely different idea, which we both loved. My fiance created a few simple drawings/sketches for me to take to the bakery before the deadline, and JaCiva's really did a fantastic job. The pricing was higher than I was expecting, but we didn't shop around, so I'm not sure how they compare to other bakeries. However, the cake was definitely delicious. We ended up getting a larger cake than we needed for the number of guests we had, since we wanted a variety of flavors. One really nice thing that JaCiva's does, is give you a certificate for a free (small) cake for your one-year anniversary, provided you return the cake boards/stands used for your wedding cake. This way, you're not eating a year-old cake for your anniversary! -

FH and I are using Timberline Lodge as our venue for the ceremony and the reception. As an added bonus, JaCiva's is the cake provider! We fly out to Portland to do some details (we live in FL) and while we where there we did a tasting to pick out our layers and talk about decorating the cake.
As part of the package from Timberline we get X amount of credit to work with when picking out which size cake and how elaborate the decorating can get (without us paying extra out of pocket).
We were served tea, coffee and given the binder to flip through as our consultant brought us our samples.
HOLY COW! We only needed a two tier cake, but are adding an extra sheet cake because we could not just pick 2 flavors.
The decoration allowance is pretty large and selecting our design was easy.
When you bring the supports back, you get a certificate for a small cake for your first anniversary, but since we live out of town we will miss out....Guess we will have to fly to Portland for our anniversary for the cake...yes, it is that good! -

Our cake was several hours late for unknown reasons, but without even complaining they were nice enough to refund us most of the price of our wedding cake and grooms cake. The flavors were delicious, we had poppy seed with raspberry filliing and yellow cake with fudge filling. And the bonus is that you get a free first year anniversary cake so you don't have to freeze your wedding cake top for a year! -

This vendor was very gracious to book us one month before our wedding day. They also changed the color of the frosting to match the theme and adding extra decorations to make it stand out more. Cake was apparently delicious. Our guests ate 3 and 4 pieces! We, the happy couple, had none left to try other than the bite we shared of the lemon during the cake cutting. Ordered two large sheet cakes as my wedding cake and had beautiful chocolate flowers on top. Guests loved this case. I wish the prices were a little lower for sheet cakes but guest being happy with the cake was worth it. We ordered three seventh heaven sheet cakes ! It was very family friend !!! I brought my calculator in and was looking for the best prices and staff was very friendly and showed me the easiest way for cutting the cake would be to get sheet cakes. ( Don't be afraid to ask for a discount if you are ordering multiple small cakes ) . -

Jacivas cake is amazing - the cake was a hit at our wedding! They were responsive to calls. The only issue we had is that they didnt give us a call to notify us when our final payment was due (which is something all our other vendors provided).

We received a lot of compliments on the taste of our cake. The cake did taste amazing. I was a little disappointed in the décor of our main wedding cake. We had a very simple design. I asked for burgundy flowers. They turned out brown and looked horrible in photos. They photographer couldn't even edit most of the photos to look more than half way decent due to the lighting. I would be cautious of the colors you choose or be very specific. The groom's cake design turned out amazing. At least it all tasted good, so I'm not completely disappointed. -

Jaciva was wonderful to work with for our wedding day cake! My husband's family loves Jaciva and uses them for many birthdays, graduations, etc so it was never a question whether or not we would use them for our wedding day. They provided us with a great cake tasting and were able to do 7th heaven cake as one of the flavors even though it's not a traditional wedding cake flavor. The cake looked exactly as we wanted and had the perfect amount for our guests :) -

The most beautiful custom wedding cake ever! Very expensive, but it was the statement piece we were looking for and it was DELICIOUS! The coordinator we originally set everything up with left the company before the event, so I never felt like I reconnected with someone, but everything went smoothly on the event day. My cake from Jaciva's turned out beautiful. Picking flavors was challenging because several were so tasty! We went into the store to try flavors and I felt a little talked down to. In fact, the woman shot down one of my cake ideas because she didn't think it would look good. She is the expert and was probably spot on with her recommendation, but I think it could have been handled more tactfully. We went with Jaciva's because they were available, their cakes are delicious AND most importantly, they don't use fondant so you can eat the entire piece of cake without peeling off the top layer! Unfortunately for us, we purchased sheet cakes from a less expensive vendor and our venue chose to serve those first instead of our actual wedding cake. I haven't talked to a single guest that actually got to try Jaciva's cake! Perhaps I should take to the wait staff since so one can account for the disappearing cake, cake topper and platform. Make sure your guests get to EAT this cake. It really is delicious. -

We went in for our tasting and the consultant was great and actually engaged herself and gave us great tips and let us try ALL the flavors. The cake was a little over our budget but it came out AMAZING!!! We actually had servings for more than our total number of guests (even though the suggestion is for less) and almost all of cake was GONE they said! We had pink champagne, german chocolate, banana and then carrot cake. They were ALL amazing! So many compliments and it was so nice with no fondant yet it was still gorgeous!!! It fit perfectly with the rest of our decor you would think it was all done together. -

Our cake was perfect and reflected our unique tastes; we opted for a 3-tier (rectangular layer) cake with chocolate; pink champagne; and lemon for the flavors. I've always had a dream for Jaciva's to make my wedding cake. Well when my time finally came to get married, I became quickly disappointed at the first talk I had with a gal that worked as one of the wedding coordinators at this bakery. My mom and I came in today to just see their wedding cake book, as we did not have an appointment. We just wanted an initial look to see what they can design than to make a big deal in booking an appointment (as some have costs on that and why lose money when you only want to see what they first offer?). Well when we asked to see the book, the girl was pretty annoyed as the first thing she mentioned was about booking an appointment. We told her we had no desire for a tasting or to talk with her a lot as we mentioned AGAIN about just looking at what they did in past wedding cakes they have created. Not sure why she got annoyed as there were no customers they were handling and they had 2 other girls in the front working with her. Well, she finally led us into a room and let us look at the book of their past creations with a brochure of what they offered. We got to spend a good 15 minutes looking with still NO CUSTOMERS in their bakery. Not once did she come check on us and when we got some pastries to go (as I love to do when I'm in that area), she didn't even ask if we liked what we saw. When my mom asked her about their delivery, she gave a general answer without asking us about my plans which I did already have a venue selected. She gave a very snobby statement to us saying we better book quick or we won't get a spot for them to make my cake. WOW! I was shocked at her very tactless statement. Shouldn't the tables be turned the other way, with them seeking our business instead of us begging for their assistance as she seemed to put it?My choice in this is pretty clear: Jaciva's will NOT make my wedding cake. By the end of today, I already found another bakery who was THRILLED for me to choose them and willing to meet my needs. -

The customer service with them is terrible.
You meet with someone, they tell you something. Later you'll call and speak to a women who is terribly rude she blatantly tell you they lied then offer no apology, remorse, or care about it.
For the price, go elsewhere -
