Fantastic hair & makeup services!

I'm so happy with how my hair and makeup turned out for my wedding! My sister in law recommended Jina and Jina is so caring, kind and thoughtful that it felt like a good friend was helping me get ready! Jina expertly executed the updo hairstyle that I wanted and made sure it withstood a cathedral veil for the church ceremony, a Korean traditional ceremony, and a lively reception and dancing on the dancefloor! I wanted a "natural" makeup look and Jina accentuated my best features and I'm thrilled with how the photos came out! Highly recommend Jina for any special event occasion in your life!

A super belated review, but nevertheless, Jina and her crew were nothing short of exceptional on my wedding day. First, when I contacted Jina to discuss potentially doing hair and makeup for my wedding, she was prompt, courteous, and professional. We discussed setting up a trial session where she worked with my indecisiveness to figure out what I liked best, with her recommendations. She was never pushy, but gave suggestions based on her experience and expertise. On the big day, my bridal party and moms were all pleased with their looks, and had a great time getting ready in the process with the JAC crew. Personally I thought they were all stunning. :) They kept me relaxed and calm in anticipation of my walk down the aisle. I loved the way my hair and makeup turned out. They knew how to keep my look natural but still special. They also knew how to make my look stand out in photos while not looking too exaggerated. Last but not least, my hair and makeup lasted the ENTIRE NIGHT. I could not recommend JAC beauty enough to any future clients wanting to look amazing on their big day. Thanks again Jina!!!!

I loved my wedding hair and makeup done by JAC Beauty! I hired JAC Beauty after doing my research on the best hair and makeup artists and getting recommendations from a few friends. Jina is amazing - both as a person and in hair and makeup skills. She knows how to make you look beautiful while making sure that you still look like yourself. She is also hard working and reliable - I had to start hair and makeup at 5:00 am and I think that she arrived at like 4:15 am to set up, which was earlier than necessary but she wanted to make sure that they weren't late. She is very responsive with emails too! A common complaint among bridesmaids is that the hair and makeup person doesn't know how to do makeup for Asian women or that the makeup is too heavy. Not with JAC Beauty! All my girls were happy with their hair and makeup. I'm going to keep the recommendations coming for all you future brides to say that you won't regret working with Jina for your wedding. :)

JAC beauty is SO talented and amazing! They did my hair and makeup for my wedding this past August and I got SO many compliments regarding my hair and makeup. They made me feel and look like the most beautiful bride for my big day! I already have multiple people asking me who my hair/makeup artist was and I was happy to refer them to JAC beauty. It was a pleasure working with Jina Pak! She is personable, kind, and professional. I was referred to her by a family member who also had her wedding hair/makeup done by Jina. She is responsive to emails, receptive to questions, and direct about her pricing and availability. Her rates are competitive and the services you pay for are well worth it. Upon booking, there is a 50% deposit to secure your date.

I recommend doing a trial session with Jina before your event to ensure you get exactly what you expect on the day-of and also to see how the different options will look on you. Jina was generous with her time and shared her insights on what would look good with certain hair types. She also took step by step pictures of my makeup during the trial to allow me to view them later on, in case I changed my mind and wanted less/more make up. Jina is on top of scheduling and shared the day-of schedule with me in advance. On the wedding day, Jina and her assistant were prompt (if not early) and really made me and my bridesmaids feel at ease. They were friendly and everyone looked great! They cater to each person's preferences, so it helps to know what kind of hair and makeup style you would like to have ahead of time. I would love to use JAC Beauty's services again and would recommend Jina to everyone!

JAC beauty is an excellent makeup/hair company. She really knows how to make your best features stand out and your not so good features minimalized. A lot of people complimented me on my makeup and hair on the day of my wedding. I'm not too opinionated with my hair or makeup, but Jina knew exactly what would look good on me. Jina also works with you for last minute changes which was a huge help. Also, she makes you feel extra relaxed on your big day which is a huge help. I definitely recommend Jina if you want to look extra gorgeous on your wedding day in photos, in person, and in videos.

Jina and Jinny are the best! They really did an awesome job. The day of my wedding was super humid and quite warm and everyone had rave reviews about how great we all looked and that our makeup hadn't melted! All my bridesmaids were really impressed with how their hair and makeup turned out as well. One of bridesmaids was in another wedding the next day and admitted that I had spoiled her with Jina and Jinny! I couldn't have made a better decision for my wedding day. Thanks so much you two!

My wedding was exactly one month ago, and I am SOOOO glad that I booked JAC beauty to do the hair and makeup for myself and the Bridal party. She was one of my favorite vendors and made the wedding morning calm and relaxing! She is super sweet, patient, and so genuine. I first communicated with Jina through emails and was so relieved at how responsive she was. Most if not all emails were replied to within a day or so (most of the time, on the same day). We discussed ideas, looks, hair, ect and Jina was always honest and helpful. I also did a trial makeup run on the day of my engagement photos. For the trial makeup, I gave a lot of my own opinion to Jina on how I wanted the makeup to look, however, I recommend you just let her do her thing. For the wedding day, I had Jina do the makeup and took all of her advice, and LOVED my look. I felt like a princess and received soooo many compliments about my hair and makeup. The wedding day, Jina and her assistant were SO patient with my bridal party. Last minute, my mom, grandma, and cousin also wanted their makeup done after looking at how beautiful everyone looked. Even though we were on a time crunch, Jina was able to include everyone and did not show any annoyance. Everyone looked so amazing and I'm so excited to see the professional wedding photographers. It was a pleasure working with Jina. She was super nice, sweet, accommodating, and most of all, soooooo talented in making me + my sisters + mom beautiful! I had a general idea of what I wanted, and she absolutely nailed it. I simply showed her a few pictures and she got it right away. She is a true professional and an amazing makeup artist and hair stylist. She works fast and efficiently, but does not skimp. Leave it to her, she knows what she's doing. I've always been weary about getting my hair / makeup done as I am particular and picky about what looks good on my very asian features and hair type. I was scared she wouldn't "get" what I wanted- I was so surprise at how well Jina helped me achieve a look that was even prettier than what I could have imagined. She brought out the best in all my features and even helped correct my uneven eyes! someone mentioned lash queen and that is right! I had the most beautiful lashes that didnt look tacky or overdone as Ive seen on others. My curls held up all night but never look plasticy and hard (EWW). Ive been a part of 4 weddings including mine and JAC stood out from the quality of the products used to proper hygenic application process. Start to finish Jina was professional and so nice, really helping me calm my nerves. Her team also did a great job on my 3 bridesmaids -including my German friend which I was a little worried about because yes, makeup and hair IS different for asians and nonasians..but why'd I even worry?! because they all looked beautiful (without looking like triplets). Thank you Jina for making me look and feel so gorgeous on my day!

I learned about Jina from our wedding planner, but then heard from other sources that even other make-up artists in the area recommended her! She is truly talented and SO MUCH FUN to have on your wedding day! She helped to calm me down so much while making me look oh so pretty and hip for my downtown NYC wedding. I have long stick-straight hair but she was able to have it keep curls ALL night! She is even better than what she shows on her webpage, though those ladies are gorgeous, too! She has such a busy schedule, and I’m so glad we booked her almost a year in advance. I wanted a “natural” look because my fiancé at the time dislikes false lashes, and she made me feel so pretty- he shed a tear during our first look photos. :) We are all hooked on her airbrushing skills on our face, and her makeup stayed put the entire night- even the black eyeliner on my bottom waterline stayed put. For real! I am definitely booking with her for the next event even if I’m just a guest for a wedding. She’s hilarious and good-hearted! You can just tell when you’re around her that she has a positive energy. Jina is amazing. Thank you!!

The best make-up artist out there. Jina is truly the most talented and skilled make up artist out there. I didn't even know what I wanted to do with myself and just left it up to her. She did an amazing job with myself, my mom, and my 6 bridesmaids. Her assistant is also simply amazing with styling hair! Each of my bridesmaids had different hairstyles that just fit their face and shape so perfectly. If you want to look better than them other chicks out there, just GO FOR JAC BEAUTY. Jina & her assistant do wonders, you will not regret.

I am Korean so was looking for a make-up artist who was familiar with applying make-up on Asians (yes, it is a little different). I chose Jina at JAC based on her reviews and am happy I did so. She and her sister did an amazing job on the hair and make-up for my bridesmaids (and Jina even squeezed my mother in for me). Jina is great to work with and is available to answer any and all questions you may have beforehand. I only wish I had done a make-up/hair trial with her because we ran late and were late getting to the wedding ceremony location. I never thought I would be super picky about my make-up/hair but it took a lot longer because I kept on asking her to change stuff. But it all worked out and I would highly recommend JAC Beauty!

I don't care for weddings but my now husband made me do it. The overpriced wedding stationary, "bridesmaids," melodramatic unity candles, awkward first dances and Korean traditions that I know they don’t even do in Korea anymore! Insert Jina. My favorite vendor and most calm part of my wedding day?!?! Yup. By dawn, I was already annoyed with the unpredictable weather and personalities, so when I got in Jina’s chair, I was deflated. Her calm working style, sweet charm, and own funny wedding nightmares really helped me back to center. She lifted my spirits and my face! I looked warm, contoured, rosy, and polished – husband and picture ready. She did my hair better than I had described or could even conjure up. I had asked for a ponytail but she whipped up something much more best-day-of-your-life appropriate, which is exactly what you need in your insanely expensive photos. People say nice things about my high end dress but they say DAMN about my hair. (in a good way) I have Jina to thank for making me look good in the literally 1000+ pics out there – in the wedding album that my kids will one day scrutinize, on fb…., and in complete strangers’ blogs!

Jina and her sister make an awesome team. They are not only professional but an absolute pleasure to work with. It can't be easy doing hair & makeup for 13 ladies but to do it so well and with such a sweet, friendly attiitude? Unbelievable.
Our makeup was perfect. A wedding guest (not in our wedding party) noted how all of us looked so flawless & beautiful that she caught herself running to the bathroom to put more makeup on herself several times! Haha. And a BM actually fell asleep with her makeup on and told me how the makeup still looked nice the next morning!
For brides, Jina uses some mask facial treatment on the morning of. I don't know what it was but I got several compliments the week after the wedding how my face/skin looked so good.
They also did an amazing job on our hair. All the girls had different preferences and requests but I think everyone was more than happy with their hair (except perhaps the MIL who thought her 1st style was "too young"...but was totally happy with her 2nd look - sorry Jina).
My hair? With the veil & the paebaek headpiece coming on & off...especially with the not so gentle paebaek lady "assisting me", I still had every strand in place without loosing volume/poofiness. Whatever she used set my hair rock solid throughout the night.

Jina was so great to work with. She made sure I was comfortable with everything that was going on. I especially appreciated the iPhone 360 video view of my hair, so I could see the back. She came to my apartment and ensured all details were handled. She's very efficient with her time. I highly recommend her for any event you want to look beautiful for, she'll make you feel gorgeous! Ps the make up and hair lasted all day and night.

Jina did the hair and makeup for me, my mom and my 2 bridesmaids. She showed up early in the morning and was super fast and efficient in getting all four of us ready on time. She was super focused on making all of us look amazing and even when we offered her to take a short break to eat and drink something, she just kept going because she wanted to ensure we kept to our schedule. She is seriously a super sweet person and was a pleasure to work with! She made me look awesome on my wedding day and I'm so happy with the way I looked (so was my husband!!)

Jina "the eyelash queen" was amazing and made all the bridesmaids beautiful! their hair came out gorgeous, and the makeup was flawless. Jina was amazing on our wedding day. I had six bridesmaids getting their make-up applied, and she made each and every one of them feel gorgeous. She was so pleasant to work with, she arrived early and got right to work. She even gave some advice to my bridesmaids on their hairstyles (they did their own hairs), which they appreciated a lot. Jina and Esther were an amazing team. Jina, the J of JAC was always quick with an email and was amazing with my trial. For almost a year we corresponded and she never tired of me..(Or let me know) On the day of our wedding, she woke us up 15 minutes early with her team and suitcase full of makeup and supplies.

She was calm, really eased my mom's nerves (Korean moms..oi), did beautiful hair styles for my bridesmaids that I decided last minute, and made my makeup and hair flawless. It was raining the morning of my wedding so she advised me to put my hair up...however the sun peaked through by 9 AM and she made my half down-do work! The curls lasted all night and even with people touching my hair, it looked great...12 hours later! I had a persistent blemish that kept covered up and I only reapplied my lip gloss once!

She helped with my veil and was really a godsend. Thank you Jina and Esther. You made my day wonderful and I will rave about your to all my future bride friends forever.

Jina of JAC Beauty did the hair and makeup for my wedding and honestly, I can't say enough- she was AMAZING. First and foremost, the way that she made me up, made me feel beautiful and truly like a bride. She works magic~!! The make up was so natural and pretty-- my bridesmaids commented that it looked even better than the makeup at the trial session (which also looked amazing). Second, Jina is soooo professional. She arrived early with her assistant and together, they had all of us ready and feeling beautiful in record time. One of my bridesmaids had not wanted to get either her hair or makeup done, but after looking at all of the other girls- she decided last minute to get her hair done as well. Jina was able to squeeze her into the allotted time and everyone was dressed and beautified right on schedule. Jina was recommended to me by my photographer Ethan Yang, who told me that her makeup comes out perfect in his photos, and I am so THANKFUL that Jina was a part of my special day. <3 I would recommend her wholeheartedly to any bride that is considering her options!

Words can not express how beautiful my hair and makeup was on my wedding day, which was on June 9th. Jina made it all possible. She was very professional, flexible with time and ideas and just wonderful. All my bridesmaid looked beautiful and we were amazed at how we all looked, even at the end of the night. JAC Beauty was my saving grace. Prior to the wedding, as our event planner, Jina guided us through the labyrinth of wedding venues and vendors and we were able to narrow down the venue and our vendors within two weeks of getting engaged. Fast forward 7 months to our wedding day on June 16, 2012. Not only did Jina single handedly handle my hair and makeup, as well as hair and makeup for my three bridesmaids but she also put on her Wedding Coordinator hat for the ceremony and reception. She made share that all the vendors and guests were in place prior to the ceremony. As soon as the wedding officially started, she was on top of me and all the vendors to get the ceremony and reception plans running smoothly and on time, as planned. Everything went perfectly. In fact, it our wedding was above and beyond both of our expectations. It was by far the happiest day of my life. Nothing fell out of place! I couldn't have been happier with JAC Beauty. Jina did my hair and makeup for both my engagement and wedding. She made me look and feel like a superstar! Jina is calming, friendly, professional and just all around great at what she does. She makes you feel so at ease and talks to you and actually listens to what kind of look you are going for, while all at the same time giving you advice on what looks best on camera and real life. I was so back-and-forth with what kind of look I wanted, but she listened to all my whims and in the end I trusted her enough to do her magic and she made me look and feel truly beautiful on my big day. After 7+ hours of running around/dancing/sweating on the wedding day, my makeup and hair was still unbelievably in tact. Jina really wants the best for her brides and she is honest about what will look good/bad on you. Listen to her because she knows what she is doing and will make you look and feel gorgeous! I had Jina do my hair and makeup for my wedding this past 5/26. She is unbelievably sweet, talented, and easy going. I'm Asian, so it was really important to me to have an Asian stylist who would understand Asian beauty nuances, which Jina did!

I'm very low-maintenance, so I wanted to go for a natural, soft look for my wedding day. She totally got it. I barely had to describe to her what I wanted. The color palette she chose was spot-on. She applied just the perfect amount for it to be visible in photos, but not garish in person. I also appreciated her suggestion for me to go bold with the lashes -- they turned out to be a great decision! The hair style was also great and stayed all night. I didn't feel "too bridal" with the hair or makeup.

I highly recommend Jina for wedding hair/makeup! She's flexible while offering professional suggestions to ideas. She really listened and understood the look I wanted to achieve. She's also reasonably priced for NYC standards. All during my wedding, people told me how amazed they were at how my makeup stayed PERFECT until the very end. She made me look the best I'll ever look while still allowing me to look like ME.

Jina did my hair and make up. I opted for the air brush and it stayed put all day. I got compliments on my hair all day. Some of my girls had issues with putting on eye lashes, and she quickly stepped in to help! we also booked her for bridesmaid hair. She travels which is a plus. I was pretty and my girls were flirty with lashes. She did a great job; I highly recommend.

Jina is the best!!!! She came all the way from NYC! She gives the best price compared to the DC metro makeup/hair artist. Jina was really amazing. She went way above and beyond our contract. I was only suppose to do bridal party makeup but my aunts started coming in and wanted this and that done and the guys wanted touch up, and Jina did everything with a huge smile on her face. Also, my hair and makeup, was amazing!!! She really knows how to work her magic. She stayed with me until the end and touched me up every time I asked. LOVE HER!!!!

Jina is a super woman! She did make up and hair for 4 bridesmaids, 2 moms and the bride - all by herself! Not only that, she did not complain once.

She used airbrush and the make up stayed in place with no touch up throughout the entire day. I was very happy, as I was able to enjoy our wedding without having to worry about mascara/make up getting ruined. I also cried about 5 times throughout the day as well with no issues.

I can not recommend her enough!!! Jina is easy to get along with, and she definitely knows what she's doing.

Jina did my hair and makeup and also did hair and makeup for my mom. She was also kind enough to help my bridesmaids with touch-ups for free. She was very professional yet so approachable. I was able to relax on my wedding day and know that I look great. As I am Asian, I really wanted a makeup pro who understood how to do my eyes. She did a terrific job! I felt gorgeous. I loved having JAC as my makeup and hair artist for my wedding! Jina was prompt and very attentive. Naturally I was very nervous and told her I was sick earlier. Upon hearing this she commanded me to lay down and relax. She gave me a facial mask and I was back on track! I gave her a few photos to get an idea of what I wanted with makeup and she did a beautiful job creating exactly what I envisioned. When it came to my hair- I was very unsure about what I wanted. I had not found a photo of "the perfect" style, so I felt a bit lost. Jina took what elements I loved from several photos and just blew me away with what came of her creation. It was so gorgeous! I still get compliments to this day on how fabulous my hair was! She also did my bridal party's makeup and hair including my mom and a last minute french braid for my little sister (flower girl). I highly recommend JAC! I couldn't be happier with her service!

Jina is amazing! She did my hair and makeup for my engagement session and wedding day (as well as my bridesmaids' makeup on my wedding day). Everyone commented on how beautiful/natural our makeup looked and it lasted all night long. For my wedding day, I had emailed a picture of the hairstyle I wanted to Jina but did not have time to schedule a trial beforehand so I was a bit nervous. However, after my experience with Jina during my engagement session, I had complete faith in her and believed she would do an awesome job, which she did! Jina was my wedding day hero! It sprinkled on my outdoor photo session & misted on my outdoor wedding, but after all of that (plus hugs, kisses, crying, etc.) my hair and makeup still looked PERFECT at the end of the night. I hired Jina to do my bridesmaids' hair, my mom's make-up, and my hair and make-up for my wedding day. Each step of the way, from the initial inquiry, to the trial, to a second trial, to the very day itself, Jina was really sweet, expert, and professional. She was really fun to work with all along the way.

I can\'t say enough great things about Jina! She was so professional and efficient, but also incredibly calm and sweet at the same time. She really has a lot of great experience doing wedding make-up and hair and was prepared for pretty much anything that could happen. I didn\'t have a hairpiece? No problem, she had extra hair crystals. My dress wasn\'t staying in place? She had the best professional double-sided tape money could buy. The girl is unflappable and does it all with a smile and immediately makes you feel comfortable and at ease. My family and I had so much fun working with Jina from JAC Beauty! She was always responsive and understanding and took initiative when I felt lost/overwhelmed. I felt bad because I kept adding people towards last minute for their hair/makeup, but Jina was more than happy to accept. My bridesmaids and I just loved her work. Through all the tears and sweats, our hair and makeup still stayed put...however, we did not want to take our hair and makeup off, it was too beautiful!!! We really left everything up to her for the most part because she knew what would look great on specific people. Jina was AMAZING! I got married in PA and had to plan my wedding all the way from LA. My biggest headache was to find a perfect makeup artist/hair stylist. I found Jina when I went to my cousin\'s wedding in PA and she did such an awesome job! I came back to LA and booked her right away before she becomes unavailable. Because of a time difference, I had to communicate with her mostly through emails but she was very responsive with emails which made my planning so much easier! I HIGHLY recommend doing a trial with her. She tries a couple different styles to make sure that you know what you like... i was so happy that i did a trial before my big day. She (of course) did an amazing job on my hair and makeup.. so many people complemented it and it lasted all night! Looking back.. so many little things went wrong on my wedding day but there was one thing that was PERFECT... that was my hair and makeup! I can\'t thank Jina enough for that!

I was the MOH for a wedding in hot, sticky, sweaty August. Jina from JAC Beauty did my make-up & it lasted through sweat, tears & intoxication... 36HRS WITHOUT FADING!!! Got drunk 3X in 36hrs and through it all, my face was flawless=) Unfortunately, due to a large bridal party, not all the bridesmaids were able to be done up by Jina and the unlucky bridesmaids who went to this "high-end" salon...they're make-up AND hair barely made it to the ceremony=/ Proves just how amazing Jina is. Her technique is absolutely phenomenal! She definitely knows what she's doing and does it well. Her assistant was great too! Sue did my hair in a half up/down poof with curls~ my hair lasted the entire day without a single strand falling out of place! The ladies at JAC Beauty were courteous, professional & catered to the bride & bridesmaids with the utmost respect & phenomenal service.

I searched long and hard for a makeup artist that knew how to apply makeup to an asian face, especially the eyes. I came across JAC Beauty and wrote them a quick email. Jina called me and we started talking. My first impression over the phone was she seem to totally understand my concerns and I felt very comfortable with her.

Before my trial, Jina dolled me up for a few events I had and I absolutely loved what she did. She offered a few ideas and she hit the nail on the head. I got tons of compliments...

For my big day, Jina already knew what I was looking for and wasted no time in transforming me into a princess. Carol worked on my bridesmaids and she was fast and amazing. Everyone looked so good. My husband told me that the moment he saw me I took his breath away and he couldn't stop telling me how beautiful I looked.

I only had Jina for makeup (I did my own hair). Jina is super-fabulous. She had a funny and relaxing personality--perfect for the morning of your wedding--and I like to think we bonded a little during my trial. I told her I wanted a 60s glam look, and that's what I got, while remaining very natural. My personal pet peeve is non-matching foundation that is obvious on brides, and mine was very natural and lasted all days. My three layers of fake lashes were amazing and totally cool. She was so affordable and uses top of the line products. It's hard to do Asian makeup and Jina really delivered.

My husband was thrilled the day of my trial and kept saying how beautiful I looked and equally thrilled on my wedding day. Thank you Jina for your wonderful makeup skills and great personality!

They responded right away and were able to accommodate my schedule. On the day of, I told them what I was looking for (me, but better, ha!), and the executed flawlessly. It was about 95 degrees that day, and my hair and makeup still held up beautifully! They were both so fun to work with and their prices were reasonable as well. I would definitely recommend this team!

After 3 different makeup trials, good money spent and still lots of uncertainty, I was at a loss on how I was going to get ready for my wedding day. No look had made me feel like as special as I was hoping to feel on my day, or to give my husband to be the "wow factor." My search went on.

After some good emails with JAC Beauty, and a review of their feedback and work on their site, I figured I was in need of their help. Not only did I leave my trial a happy camper, Jina is a blast to work with. She listened, she was patient and reassuring, and most of all, she delivered! Even when I emailed her a week before my wedding to tell her that I had changed my mind on my hair, she was as cool and as reassuring as before.

On the day of my wedding, she came with her arsenal, and made my bridesmaid, my mother in law and me more gorgeous than I could have hoped for! My hair looked great, and felt right, and my makeup really made me feel I was as beautiful as I could have hoped for. And when my mother walked in with sub-par makeup from a salon, she was able to turn it around, and make her eyes sparkle! The best part of the day was having my husband tell me over and over again how beautiful I was. JAC Beauty was well worth the search.

I used JAC Beauty for New Year's Eve and my engagement photo shoot. They listened to what I wanted and advised me on what looks would suit me. I couldn't be more happier with the way my hair and makeup looked =) Plus, they are a pleasure to be around!

My only regret was I didn't use them for my wedding day. I wish I did now because I was not happy the way my makeup turned out in my pictures. I looked bare that day! Going forward, I will be using them for special events and recommend them to anyone that would need their services.

Carol and Jina provided hair and makeup for myself, my 5 bridesmaids, and both mothers on the day of my wedding. They did a wonderful job with everyone and even kept me AHEAD of schedule!!

At the trial, they took photos so we could all remember what I liked and did not like. They asked me all the right questions about the how I envisioned the wedding and the look I was going for, and they styled me fantastically to what I had envisioned. They definitely listen to you and offer advice as needed. These ladies are very personable, flexible, and just great to work with. I'm not very knowledgable when it comes to makeup and Jina was even happy to share tips on how she customized makeup to my face.

I went to them in NYC for the trial, but they traveled to my wedding site in Central NJ for the wedding. Before the wedding, they kept great communication and even contacted me regarding the time of their arrival to ensure there was enough time for everyone. And they came right on time on the big day. I highly recommend Carol and Jina!! If you're looking for wedding day or special occasion beauticians, I would definitely give them a try!!! You'll be amazed at the professionalism and style!

I could not be happier with the hair and makeup services I received from JAC Beauty (the talented Jina and Carol) of JAC Beauty! There are so many vendors out there that offer outdated styles for ridiculous prices, so finding the right team to do hair and make-up can be quite nerve-wracking.

Not so with JAC Beauty. Jina and Carol really worked and *listened* to me, during my multiple trials (I had a different type of headpiece and couldn't make a decision) and always made sure that the outcome reflected what I wanted. You can't say that about all vendors.

Jina and Carol were also impressively efficient- I had a day-time wedding (10am ceremony) and Jina and Carol were able to take care of everyone without rushing through anything. I received many compliments on BOTH my hair (thank you Carol!!) AND my makeup (thanks Jina!!), and my mother as well as bridesmaids also got paid many compliments throughout the day as well!

I would definitely recommend Jina and Carol to any bride due to their versatility, professionalism, and most importantly the quality of their work.

Absolutely the most flexible, sweet and talented make up artist. My bridesmaids and I found her not only trustworthy but also reliable for both our hair and makeup. I've had two wedding ceremonies and the first time getting my makeup done was just disastrous. After realizing that I've been painted like a Geisha, I had to wipe off my entire face five minutes before walking down the aisle, hence I was quite nervous about getting my makeup done a second time, but as soon as I saw how Jina worked with my bridesmaids (I got mine done last), I knew that she was perfect! Our pictures look so natural, and my now husband was able to "recognize" me as I walked down! Thank you so much Jina! We wouldn't have been able to pull off the massive wedding without you!!!

Jina and Carol of JAC Beauty are the sweetest! I worked with them twice, once for a hair and makeup trial in May 2009 and my wedding in August of 2009. Luckily, I was able to arrange my hair and makeup trial to coincide with an engagement photo shooting with my photographer. Jina and Carol were as cool as cucumbers on my wedding day. They did my hair/makeup and also worked on the bridesmaids and my mom. My hair and makeup turned out great in the photos and lasted until the end (see their blog post entitled “Real Weddings – Part I” for some photos). Not all hair and makeup artists can work with Asian features, so that was definitely a plus for me. I loved the dramatic Korean false lashes that Jina used for the engagement shoot…they really popped in the photos! Jina and Carol were both very responsive via email. Jina & Carol are both very professional, personable, wonderful etc... Words cannot describe how wonderful they both are... They both worked with the budget I had to offer, yet they still provided the highest quality of artistry for my wedding day. They had made all my bridesmaids and mothers comfortable. I was having such a hard time finding an Asian Hair & Makeup Vendor down in Philly, so I posted a thread on weddingbee.com. Carol contacted me very shortly and we had a series of emails back and forth. Eventhough, they were located in NYC, I decided to do a trial with them. The trial was great, I loved their personalities and the work that they did. I kept my hair & makeup on all night until 11 pm, just to see if it would remain in tack... and it did, not a pin came loose.

Needless to say, I booked them right away for my wedding. Jina & Carol were very professional, provided pictures of the trial, kept an open line of communication and even gave some beauty tips. They were very easy to work with, flexible, arrived on time and very efficient. My entire bridal party was very happy with their hair & makeup and if you know my girls, sometimes it is hard to please all 7 of them.

I would highly reccommend Jina & Carol as they were so amazing to work with!!!

Jina and Carol did my makeup and hair for my engagement photo session and were both a joy to work with. Their prices are very reasonable, and they are super talented! I didn't really tell them how I wanted my hair done, but somehow, it came out just as I had hoped for. My makeup looked very natural, not cakey, and looked great in our pictures. Unfortunately I was getting married across the country so I couldn't utilize their services for my wedding day. If I ever get my photos taken again, I'm definitely using them!

Jina is awesome. Not only is she a talented make-up artist, she also knows how to let the bride stay calm and enjoy her important day. As much as it is the responsibility of every wedding vendors to "do their jobs" (although some fail to even do this part competently), Jina goes above and beyond with a friendly smile. I'd recommend her to any bride who wants more than just beautiful make-up (not to mention those wonderful eyelashes that never fell off even when i cried oh so many times during the wedding) - such as exceptional service.

I contacted Jina from JAC Beauty last fall to schedule a hair and make-up trial for my May wedding. We were able to coordinate our schedules so that my trial would be on the morning of our engagement photo shoot- it was a super windy day and Jina took that into account when doing my hair. After 3 hours of shooting by the water in Battery Park, my hair and make-up still looked fresh. Jina also graciously offered me a complimentary bridal hair trial after I booked with her because my hairstyle for the engagement photos and wedding day were totally different.

On the morning of the wedding itself, Jina and her assistant Esther both showed up on time at 5am and promptly set to work on my four bridesmaids, MIL and then me. They were cheerful and professional and had all of us finished on time. I truly recommend Jina and her services for your big day- my hair turned out beautifully and the makeup was enough to last over 12 hours but still let me look like myself.

Jina did makeup for myself + 4 bridesmaids on my wedding day. She did a FANTASTIC job. I was apprehensive about having my makeup done as I usually come out looking like a transvestite, but Jina did an awesome job. Her application of false eyelashes is impeccable and she uses the highest quality lashes. They looked so incredible and natural. I was sorry to take them off (and normally, I can't wait to tear off false eyelashes because they drive me crazy). She made my little eyes look much much larger. Something I thought would be impossible. I've never felt so pretty and glamorous as I did after Jina was done with me. She also did makeup for my 4 bridesmaids, all of whom are pretty particular and fussy about their makeup. They won't stop raving about Jina. They're all using photos from the wedding on their Facebook profiles because they're so happy with how they looked. Besides her obvious skill with makeup, Jina is super professional. She showed up 15 minutes early to a 7am start time in Central Jersey, at a rural farm that's off the grid and not on any GPS or Google maps. She did her job quickly and expertly and had us all done ahead of schedule. I'm so thrilled I'm using Jina again for my day-after shoot. The only thing I wish is that she'd make house-calls more often for makeup!

Jina and Carol of JAC were wonderful! They listened to my requests and did my hair and makeup even more beautifully than I had imagined. They are also geniuses in applying makeup that will stay put! In fact, I moved out of my apartment the day that I had my trial. I opted to keep my hair and makeup on while my fiance and I moved boxes up and down stairs, into the uhaul, and even to the 2 hr drive to my new place - and my makeup actually stayed put despite all the activity! And on my actual wedding day - we had an hour photo session running around in diff parts of central park, the actual ceremony outdoors, and part of our reception on a yacht with high winds - and when I came home late that night I still looked great! They are truly amazing at what they do! It's extremely difficult finding affordable professional wedding makeup in NYC, and although I thought their prices were a bit high, it's important to keep in mind that it is NYC, so they are actually in the mid-price range for the area and for the high quality of their work. They were also a pleasure to work with, really fun and easy to talk to. Jina even stayed to help me with an impromptu safety pin alteration of my dress and helped me wrap my bouquet :). I do want to note that their studio (where you have your makeup trial) is in Queens, so that may be an issue for those who live within manhattan. They come to you on the wedding day, but charge a fee for traveling into manhattan.

Definitely check out their website, it has great examples of their makeup style. Natural, but beautiful - how every bride should look on the big day.

Jina and Carol did the make-up and hair for me in July 09 for my engagement photos. I followed their suggestions on the type of hair/makeup that was suitable for me and my dress and they absolutely nailed it! I am very happy with the results! I only communicated with J & C via email as I do not live in the US and they were very easy to deal with and always replied my mails promptly. They also offered tips/advice on other things such as where to get flowers, etc. They're really friendly people and I hope more brides discover the hidden gems that they are. :)

I found the ladies of JAC beauty to be highly professional. They arrived on time and were intent on ensuring that my mother, sister and I looked our best that day. They listened to what we wanted and solicited our feedback on look and colors as the session progressed. I particularly had a difficult time with the lashes, and Jina redid them several times to ensure I was comfortable before leaving.

I was very happy with JAC Beauty and their services. Jina and Carol are also very personable and easy to talk to. I would use them again for any special events in the future.

Jina basically corners the tri-state area Asian-American bridal market for hair & make-up, and with good reason. She understand the nuisances of Asian skin and hair, and gives fresh, classic styles. I had an outdoor wedding in August, and Jina's hair and make-up lasted all day and looked fresh to the end. I have oily skin naturally, and never once had to blot my nose. She states her opinion honestly but takes good direction - - Jina is trustworthy, professional, timely, and the type of stylist you want for your special day. Also, she's really fast and efficient.
