Hope is an incredible baker and was amazing to work with! The tasting & design process was easy and enjoyable, we had lots of flexibility when it came to the flavors & design, and she created a wedding cake that was better than we had imagined! We additionally purchased a number of other small desserts from J Cakes which were delicious and a huge hit at the reception.

Stunning Cake
We had a 3-tier wedding cake included in our wedding package at the Woodwinds, provided by JCakes. We picked from the included flavors and styles and upgraded to add fresh flowers as decoration. The cake looked beautiful and was delivered on time for our wedding. The cake itself was delicious (yellow cake with lemon curd filling and white buttercream frosting). We had kept our expectations low, since the cake was part of a bundled package, but honestly it looked and tasted like we spent hundreds on it.

I love J Cakes
I've used J Cakes for a few things over the last few years. We don't live close, but I stop in a few times throughout the year for their cupcakes! Our wedding cake was phenomenal, they executed our idea perfectly. I forgot to order the groom's cake and I called in 4 days before the wedding and they were accommodating! They make my wife's favorite cake flavor, "Blue Velvet!"... another reason I will continue to order from them.

Our Cake was a Celebrity at our Wedding!
Our wedding cake was a star at our wedding! It tasted every bit as good as it looked. We had a tasting back in the summer, sampling many different filings. We loved too many of them to choose only one, but ultimately were able to choose two, and make each tier a different flavor (cannoli cream and mixed berry). If we had been in the position to have a three-tier cake, I would have made the third one mocha (it, too, was so good!). We worked with the owner to design the cake itself, and she helped us to create this very specific, personalized/custom topper, which we adore and have now placed on a prominent shelf in our kitchen to look at every day. The morning after our wedding, the remaining cake was in a box in the fridge at our venue (where we stayed), and we were able to take it home with us, where we polished it all off before leaving on our honeymoon! What a treat that was, and a great way to transition from wedding day to honeymoon. It's so cool that the cake continues to play such a part in our daily lives (we have actually both put this picture of the cake as the background on our phones!). Visiting friends who with at our wedding the week after our honeymoon, they did also comment on the beauty and the quality and taste of the wedding cake. We cannot recommend JCakes enough.

We can't say enough good things about Hope at JCakes! She did an incredible job on our cake, including by making adorable (and accurate) figurines of our cats that went on the back of the cake. And not only was the cake beautiful, it was also delicious! There are not enough words to express how incredible our wedding cake was. We met JCakes several months before our wedding and were able to taste some combinations of cakes. The flavor combo we picked was perfect for us. We talked design and made sure we stayed in touch. Then the pandemic happened and we were forced to postpone. When we finally felt we could hold our wedding I reached out the JCakes to go to their shop and taste the combination we picked to sure we were still in love with our original combination. It was as perfect as the first time we tasted it and we firmed up details on the design. On the day of our wedding, the cake brought tears to my eyes - it was just extraordinary - the design work was better than I could have ever imagined and I was so excited for our guests to see it. The cake was very well received by our guests - some were even asking for seconds! If you need a beautifully crafted and tasty wedding cake - this is your place! Finding the perfect baker for your wedding day can be overwhelming and nerve wracking. J Cakes blew my expectations of a wedding cake out of the water! These were some of the best cupcakes I have ever tried, let alone at a wedding! My guests kept asking “who made these cupcakes?” and “This is your wedding cake? It tastes amazing!” My (now) husband and I really enjoyed the cake tasting process. We felt like we got to design our own flavors with so many combinations to give our big day even more personalized touches. J Cakes is now my go-to bakery for future special occasions and the every so often “you deserve a cupcake” moments.

Loved the cake they did for my 8/12/21 wedding! They were able to recreate the exact design we sent them. At our tasting, we got to try so many different flavors and combinations. Our experience with Hope at J Cakes could not have been more delightful. We had changed our wedding plans due to covid and decided last minute (three weeks prior to the wedding) that we wanted a cake. Not only was Hope able to accommodate us, but she fit us in for a tasting, which was very professional and safely set up outside her shop. She seamlessly took care of delivery to our reception venue as well. The cake itself was absolutely delicious and looked beautiful! We had chocolate cake with mocha filling. The buttercream was very light which was perfect for a summer night. She had added beautiful fresh flowers as well. We were only 11 people but really wanted a traditional looking two tier cake, so we ordered the smallest available which feeds 25 (9 inch round with 6 inch round on top). You cannot go wrong with this shop - if I could give her 10 stars I would!

I first want to acknowledge the wonderful customer service by Tracey and Hope at JCakes. Having had the chance to work with both of them I found them to be very professional, caring and organized! The cake tasting they organized for my husband and I was the most fun part of wedding planning! When we ended up changing our plans this year to do a micro-wedding we found that JCakes was very accommodating and our guests loved the small cutting cake and variety of cupcakes we ended up having this year. All were delicious and the fresh fruit was seriously fresh and seasonal, very well presented, and we could not be happier.

My husband and I got so much praise from our guests for our cupcake choice, instead of going with your typical wedding cake. Although we did choose to have a small topper cake, the golden cannoli and mocha espresso cupcakes were a huge hit! The cake tasting was my husband's favorite part of the planning process. The cakes are delicious, they seamlessly re-created a cake based off my picture. They were flexible with dropping off our cake topper and flowers. It was a beautifully made cake, and it tasted amazing too. I am not a huge sweets person, but this cake was worth a second slice. I would use them again for any of my cake/sweets needs.

We were required to use J Cakes because they have a contract with our venue (it's included in the venue package). That being said, if I was doing it again, I would absolutely use J Cakes by choice. Not only was the cake beautiful, but it tasted so good!!! In my experience, wedding cakes usually look beautiful, but taste pretty awful. In contrast, this was actually one of the best tasting cakes I've ever had! We even had guests coming up to us to ask if the baker made smaller cakes for other occasions-- or even just single cupcakes that they could buy for themselves!

The tastiest cake EVER!
J Cakes makes the most amazing cake and fillings in all of CT! My husband and I chose a three tier vanilla cake with various fillings, all of them so tasty! We chose the strawberry shortcake filling, chocolate truffle filling, and raspberry filling. We cannot choose a favorite, even if forced! Hope of J Cakes worked with us and our budget so well. We also incorporated tennis-themed cupcakes as the groom’s cake and Hope contacted us multiple times with different design options and pricing. They were also extremely tasty!
Her decorating is flawless and beautiful. We went with a simple cascade of flowers in our other floral colors of the wedding and Hope matched them perfectly. We definitely plan on ordering from J Cakes again, and cannot wait to recreate our cake for our one year anniversary (yes, we are so obsessed we are already talking about that).

JCakes did an amazing job with our wedding cake and cupcakes! We did strawberry shortcake and chocolate cannoli. Both were delicious and moist! Our wedding guests are still talking about how amazing our cake was!

We ordered 3 different flavors for our 3 tier cake and all were sooo delicious! Neither my husband nor I are big cake eaters, but after our tasting at JCakes, we knew we wanted them! We ate all 3 flavors of cake because they were just so good! We actually had a hard time choosing 3 flavors only because everything was incredible! We ended up with Oreo, mixed berry, and white chocoalte mousse! I highly recommend JCakes!

Our venue has a partnership with J Cakes so we didn't actually communicate at all with them so we can only comment on the product. We ordered a simple 2-tier chocolate cake with cannoli filling and white frosting with pearl accent on the bottom. The cake was delicious!!! There were also several other flavors to choose from. We are very happy with how our little cake turned out!

Yummy wedding cake :)
Our cake was sooo good! We had a yellow cake with oreo cream filling and a semi-naked frosting design. We got a ton of compliments on it! Other weddings we’ve gone to have had cakes that looked really pretty but lacked flavor. Right from our tasting, we knew that wouldn’t be the case with ours. We can’t recommend J Cakes enough!

Our coconut-with-mixed-berry-filling cake was an absolute hit! A huge thank you to Hope for hosting our tasting (watching us eat a TON of cake) and for providing a finished product that was both beautiful and delicious (a rare find as wedding cakes go)! I'd also like to thank the design team at J Cakes for working with me to have a surprise fondant "peeker" made of one of my husband's favorite video game characters -- it helped add a little bit of our geekier side to our wedding and it meant the absolute world to him. You guys are the best!

We absolutely loved our cake from J Cakes and heard from several people it was the best wedding cake they’ve ever had. A few of our guests even confessed that they ate other people’s plates while they were up dancing! J Cakes does a beautiful (and very tasty) job with wedding cakes! My husband and I went in for a tasting, showed a photo of what we wanted in our wedding cake, and picked our flavors! The whole process was very easy, and the cake was delicious! J Cakes delivered our cake to our venue, and worked with our florist to get the flowers for the cake. We were able to drop our cake topper off in advance, and worked with them leading up to our wedding to ensure our cake was what we wanted! Very very easy process, and the team is very knowledgable, and can work with you to turn any wedding cake into a dream!

Hope was absolutely amazing! I just stalked her instagram for photos of cakes that we liked and went in for a 45 minute consultation. We are both not a huge fan of fondant, but I had selected a cake that was decorated with fondant. Hope was able to make the same cake with buttercream frosting (our favorite)! She has a huge amount of cake flavors and fillings to choose from - it was probably my favorite part of wedding planning. The cake itself was so delicious we had to eat the rest of it the next day! My husband and I got married at Bill Miller's Castle in Branford, and when we had first gone to see the venue, there was a book that we looked at from JCakes. It was filled with some of the most beautiful cakes I had ever seen! We had also gone to a bridal expo at the venue, and had tasted the cake shooters from the JCakes booth, and they were absolutely amazing. I knew then that I wanted to go with JCakes! When meeting with Hope for the first time, it was a little awkward because she had to keep stepping away from us to help customers walking into the shop to buy cupcakes. But once we got down to discussing our design and cake flavors, I could tell she became inspired with our ideas, which made us super excited! The day of the wedding when I finally saw my husband, one of the first things he said to me was, "Oh my god, did you see the cake?!" I was absolutely blown away when I finally saw it!! Hope and her team created the most beautiful birdcage themed cake for us that was straight out of my Pinterest dreams! We also got so many compliments from our guests about how moist and delicious the cake tasted. One of my pet peeves as a guest at a wedding, is dry and tasteless boring weddings cakes. My wedding cake was both beautiful and delicious! I could not thank Hope and JCakes enough for all the time and work they put into creating the wedding cake of my dreams! They absolutely outdid themselves!

One taste of a cake here and you'll be in love. Not only was this one of the best tasting cakes I've ever had, it was GORGEOUS. I came in with a few photos that I liked, told Hope what my flowers were and she did the rest! I think the simplest thing to say is that people ACTUALLY ATE our wedding cake. The cake was delicious, it wasn't dry or overly heavy, the frosting was amazing and it was exactly how we ordered it. At the tasting they had a ton of choices, lots of great pictures for us to choose designs from and were able to help us pick out a cake that fit our needs. I highly recommend them not just because it was easy to do business with them, but because the quality of their cake and the presentation were delicious and beautiful!!

My husband and I had a wonderful experience with JCakes! We met with them to discuss our wedding vision, which included cupcakes, a small cake to cut, and small sunflowers on the cupcakes. They didn't bat an eye at any of our requests, and made us feel so confident that everything would go perfectly. Their prices are incredibly fair, their products are delicious, and their service is utterly professional. I knew that I would not see the cake until the big day, but I wasn't worried at all! JCakes handled the delivery and setup of everything, and it was absolutely beautiful! Our guests loved the cupcakes, and Joe and I can't wait to eat our frozen piece a year from now. Jcakes is out of this world. The taste test was fun and quick. We were doing cupcakes so we chose the cannoli and chocolate mousse. We did a small cake to cut for ourselves and it was white chocolate mousse. It was delicious! Hope was so sweet and great to work with, they delivered the cupcakes to the venue which was great. So happy with J Cakes! The cake turned out exactly as we described and tasted amazing! In addition to that they let us rent one of their cake stands which put everything together. We had a garden theme for our wedding and they purchased and placed the most beautiful flowers on the cake. We were referred to J Cakes through the preferred vendor list from our venue. We researched the bakeries and decided to try our tasting with J Cakes based on their website and other reviews. Boy, we were not disappointed! The tasting was delicious and the staff was lovely to work with! We went with a vanilla cake with a mixed berry mousse. The mousse contained strawberries and we asked if we can change it to another berry because my Mother is allergic to strawberries. Hope (and her assistant Katie) was incredibly easy to work with and everything turned out exactly as we wanted. We customized two different flavors at our tasting/consultation, one for our layered wedding cake and a second for a sheet cake, as we were trying to cut costs a bit. Our tiered cake was simple but gorgeous, with flowers Hope provided that matched my bouquet perfectly. We didn't like the cake stand provided by our venue and J Cakes had a few different options available to rent - one of them being exactly what we were looking for. Most importantly, both cake flavors were DELICIOUS with rave reviews from all our guests. I have never had a wedding cake that was so tasty and moist. So happy we went with JCakes! I'm now looking for an excuse to order from Hope again.

Our venue, Lake of Isles, offered us a cake from one of two bakeries. We decided on J Cakes and were so pleased! We loved the tasting experience, where we were provided with a small slice of chocolate and vanilla cake and then multiple small cups of frostings and fillings so we could mix and match! We decided on a vanilla cake with lemon frosting and a raspberry filling. We chose a Swiss dot pattern with red ribbon accents and sunflowers on top. The bakery, on our request, also provided a cupcake for a cousin who was celebrating her birthday on our wedding day. J Cakes already boxed a 6" round of our cake to freeze and enjoy on our anniversary.

We used J Cakes for our wedding on June 25, 2016. We could not have been any happier with our choice!!!! The cake was AMAZING!! I am not a cake/dessert person but this was the best cake I have ever eaten. We had a three layer red velvet cake with white chocolate mouse filling and butter cream frosting, DELISH! There was a string of rhinestones on each layer as well as fuchsia roses and gerbera daisies. We loved working with Hope to select the perfect wedding cake. She had amazing options available for our tasting session. She took my idea for the cake's exterior and turned it into a beautiful design. Our guests commented on how good the cake was!

Our wedding cake created by Hope and JCakes for our wedding in May was absolutely stunning! We received so many compliments from our family and friends on the look and taste. Hope was so easy and fun to work with, and so accommodating for all of our crazy and quirky ideas. She made our cake exactly how we envisioned and more. J Cakes was wonderful. They made the process easy and made a picture perfect cake - super cute with pink and green stripes and polka dots. And it was delicious! I hardly had to spend any time on thinking about the cake. They were so on the ball!

So delicious! The J-cakes staff was so easy to work with -- a pleasure from the first tasting on... Even months after the wedding, our friends and family are still raving about the amazing cupcakes they had at our wedding!

From the start JCakes did a great job of being professional and providing us with a wonderful service for our wedding day.
The cake tasting was better than any other place we tried and helped us to customize our cake to exactly what we wanted. The colors and piping on our cake was exactly what I imagined. Katie helped us make the entire process flawless and I highly recommend this company for any future couples or special events.

Extremely easy to work with. I am using Bill Miller's Castle and it was a "fluke" they use them exclusively for some of their packages; I did not pick one of those packages. When I sat down with Hope, the owner, I felt so comfortable and things went so smoothly. She sat with myself and my future husband and was open to ideas to using outside sources for cake toppers, and knew many of the sources on Etsy and Pintrest by name and locations. She helped give guidance on to which ones were more user friendly or quality made toppers. Showed her pictures of our invitations and ideas and the outcome was amazing. I am all about unique and custom work. Taking someone else's canvas, other sources, and blending them together to make something my own instead of copied. Hope, was all about this concept and did this without question or effort. I am hoping the outcome of my cake is as great as the customer service she has provided me, so far.

We had such a phenomenal experience with Hope, Katie and everyone at J Cakes. Their quick responses and understanding of what we wanted was flawless. That was the least stressful part of the wedding. Jcakes was perfect.

This was the easiest and most efficient part of my wedding planning process. We met with Hope for a tasting which was so fun and delicious. We loved everything and because we couldn't decide on one flavor, we opted for two! We did a vanilla cake with fresh berries and creme as well as tiers of chocolate cake with oreo filling. I brought a picture of the exact style I was looking for and JCakes nailed it! The cake was gorgeous and even more importantly, it was delicious. Wedding cake is sometimes an after thought while guests are busy dancing; but, I heard many people say it was the best wedding cake they had ever eaten!

We got a beautiful - and most importantly, delicious - wedding cake from J Cakes! We wanted something simple and elegant and they absolutely delivered! We ordered a vanilla cake with canolli filling and buttercream frosting. Everyone told us how much they loved the cake...one guest told me that it was the best wedding cake he had ever had. They gave us a call a few weeks before the wedding to confirm all the details and definitely put my mind at ease. I would absolutely recommend them!

We went with J Cakes after having a lackluster meeting with several other vendors. Hope was the woman we met with at our meeting. We were impressed by her setup and willingness to provide everything we were looking for. We were having a Star Wars themed wedding and we wanted a classy looking, but themed cake. We provided several photos of what we were looking for and the cake actually looked BETTER than what we gave them. It was a great experience and I'm glad we went with them.

Gorgeous and Delicious!!! We met only about 3 weeks prior to our event (we were very last minute) and designed our cake. Based off our description and one picture, they made our cake look better then we even imagined. The detail was flawless and the cake was amazing. My only regret is that we didn't get a bigger cake...guests were looking for seconds =)

We worked with Hope on our wedding cake. She provided fantastic service, and helped us design a stunning and delicious cake. We chose a simple dot cake design with red roses and greenery. The frosting was white buttercream, cake was chocolate with Oreo filling. Everyone raved, and it was more beautiful than I imagined. It was so elegant and modern which is exactly what we wanted. My husband and I couldn't bear to wait until our first anniversary to eat the top of the cake - so it's sadly all gone. Thank you J Cakes. Yummm!

We ordered a small cake and cupcake tower from J-Cakes for our wedding and it was an absolute hit among our guests! The cake (which we cut), was absolutely delicious and the cupcakes were amazing! We chose Chocolate Mousse for the cake and one of the cupcake types, and we also had Strawberry Shortcake and Cannoli cupcakes. We will definitely be back to order from them again for other events!! They were very professional and prompt with their delivery.

Our wedding venue contracts with JCakes, so their costs were wrapped into our venue contract.
We decided to do a cupcake tower with a topper. We had 3 varities of cupcakes and all were delicious. Our guests raved about them at the end and the next morning. I will go back to JCakes for future events. They were easy to work with and had no problem with any of our suggestions!

Our wedding venue has Jcakes as a preferred venue, and I am so glad we went with their services! Hope was also extremely helpful and always very please not to deal with. They were flexible with dates & times for a tasting (we lived an hour away) so that was very nice of them! The cupcakes were adoreabley sweet and even better tasting! We still have people raving about how good they were, the mixed berry filling and the cannoli filling were big hits!

My husband and I were impressed from the first appointment we made with J Cakes. We sat down and tried all different types of cakes and filling and went over what we wanted our cake to look like. When we saw our cake we were amazed, it looked and tasted so amazing. J Cakes really went above and beyond and were so easy to deal with, I would really recommend them to anyone!!
