There were some staffing changes during our planning process which created some miscommunication and confusion. Once Nicole came on board as the Sales Manager, she worked seamlessly with Ashley, the banquet coordinator, and everything was amazing. The food was delicious, and everything was executed flawlessly. Highly recommend. -

From our initial meeting to the days leading up to our wedding, the Inn went above and beyond and well exceeded our expectations. Brittany (the event sales manager) is well-tenured in the industry, detail oriented, flexible and always goes the extra mile to ensure you're taken care of. We had about 95 guests at our wedding - Chef Kyle worked with us to curate a fabulous menu - everyone raved about their entrees and the passed h'ordeuvres were fabulous! Nicole at the front desk was able to answer any and all questions regarding bookings, hotel block discounts etc. Lisa in the Armory is an exceptional bartender and my guests loved her for our after-hours party. My husband and I can't express enough how wonderful our experience was. Our guests loved that they could simply head right to their rooms when it was time for bed! No shuttle, uber or taxis needed. I would highly recommend the Inn for your wedding - they will exceed your expectations! -

We just got married at the Inn, and it went so smoothly! The staff set up our decor to perfection and it looked even better than I imagined. The cake was included in pricing and was so, so good! The food was also delicious and everyone enjoyed it. We had our ceremony there along with the reception and everything was so seamless. We worked mainly with Brittany, and she was so caring and professional. -

Oh! I can't say enough good things about my experience. From the first email asking for more information, to the day of wedding, I was well taken care of every step of the way. Rachael Puccino, the Manager, was the sweetest, most helpful and flexible person! On the day of the event, she was there every step of the way to ensure that everything went well. Overall, pricing of services was also affordable, and quality was matched in every aspect. I'm now planning on visiting the Inn on special events with my husband; I fell in love with the people, and the place. I highly recommend! -

The staff at the Inn were extremely helpful in reserving rooms for my wedding guests. They were always available for any questions, especially the reception team. I would often call for an updated list of rooms, they were so patient! The catering team was fabulous too. We provided brunch in a private room for our guests the day after the wedding, and it was simply perfect! Our guests only had wonderful things to say about their stay, and the food! I would recommend the Inn time again after time to anyone staying in Middletown or the surrounding area. It's a beautiful place! -

Inn at Middletown was amazing since day 1. Rachael and her team were so attentive and made our day the most amazing day! We ran into a few issues due to family problems, but Rachael was flexible and gave us the wedding of our dreams! We had such an amazing time and the food was OUTSTANDING! We had a banquet staff member assigned to us for the entire reception and we always had what we needed without having to ask. We also stayed the night there and the room was GORGEOUS! If you're looking for a charming "hotel" with excellent food and service, this is it! -

Alice Sent on 07/17/2018My fiance & I became Mr & Mrs at the Inn at Middletown this past June 30th. Katelin, Jill, and Danielle were phenomenal & treated us like royalty. The venue was/is gorgeous & elegant. The food was absolutely delicious and is not your typical wedding venue fare. You will not be disappointed if you choose the Inn at Middletown as your wedding venue. It is class all the way.

The staff was courteous and very professional. On top of that, the Inn recently refurbished the entrance and entire second floor venue space. My guests raved about the food! I can't thank them enough for making my special day so special. -

Part of the appeal was that it was decorated so beautifully for the holidays that there would be little for us to do ourselves - and we were right! Katelin in the Sales Department ensured that every detail leading up to the big day was accounted for and she was present the day of to help ease the mind of this nervous bride! She was a pleasure to work with and everything met and/or exceeded our expectations. We have beautiful memories of our wedding at the Inn and would highly recommend this venue and its staff for your wedding day.

We had our wedding and reception there and the staff was so amazing,Our event coordinator made sure we had everything we needed and more. The food was very unique and delicious. All of our guests were very full and happy. When we went back to the room there were flowers, champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. In the morning our wedding party and families had brunch at the Tavern and it was outstanding. Every year we come to the Tavern for Valentine's Day and our Anniversary because it is so cozy and romantic. If you would like a true New England style wedding, The Inn at Middletown is a perfect fit. -

Sarah Sent on 09/11/2014My fiance and I had our rehearsal dinner at the Inn and were pleasantly surprised! The room we had dinner in (there are two rooms upstairs) was very pretty. They had some budget friendly options (food-wise), which is what we chose since we spent so much on the actual wedding. We chose from one of five buffet options and went with the BBQ. The food was delicious and the service (there was one bartender and one staff present to clean off tables, etc.) was excellent! Definately check out the Inn at Middletown as a prospective rehearsal dinner venue if you're getting married in the area! -

My wedding was in Middlefield but I chose Inn at Middletown due to it's location and that I think it's definitely the most attractive hotel in the area. The Sales Manger, Rachael, was extremely responsive throughout the entire process. I was constantly asking for updates on our room block and she always provided them within 24 hours. They were organized and everything went smoothly on the wedding day.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was due to changes they made to our hotel rate. We initially only booked 25 or so rooms and quickly realized that we needed more, so we kept increasing (months in advance of the wedding). When making our last increase, from 35 to 50 rooms or so, I was told they were increasing the price of the room rate that was in our contract. I asked why and was told it was because the hotel was almost at capacity. The confusing thing here is that we literally filled half the hotel, and then are basically being penalized for them being at capacity. I understand there are other people booking rooms, but we actually had HALF of them! My understanding is this came from the front desk manager, who I never got to speak to directly, but was told he/she was unwilling to change their mind on the increase despite my issue with it. Many other hotels give you free upgrades for every 10 or so rooms booked, this one did not provide that either. -

Kay Sent on 10/12/2025Great Wedding Weekend Stay, but Room Block Fell Short
We stayed here for our wedding on September 27 in Middletown, CT. The location is fabulous and we experienced great service once we checked in.
That said, the room block process was very frustrating. I reached out more than 9 months in advance to reserve a block and followed up at least 5 times over voicemail and email before I was finally able to connect with someone... nearly 3 weeks later. By that time, we were told there were very few rooms left and were only able to reserve about 10, which was well short of what we had hoped. I understand other blocks may have been reserved earlier, but waiting 3 weeks for a response was disappointing and added unnecessary stress to our wedding planning.
As for the rooms themselves, our guests had mixed experiences. Most were great, but a few smelled strongly of wet dog/moldy and needed to be switched.
Overall, once on site the service was strong and the location excellent, but the booking process and inconsistency in room quality left something to be desired.
