Anjelika went above and beyond to ensure that I received my wedding dress with perfect alterations and completed at the highest standard. Anjelika spent time outside of her normal business hours so that I could get the alterations done in time for my wedding. She has an exacting eye for detail and will scrutinize the smallest difference in hem length or bodice fitting so that all her alterations will work perfectly for your body and for what you want. I cannot recommend Anjelika and Ingenuity Couture enough. Anjelika worked some magic on my dress!

I Think Anjelika was fantastic!!! So Happy with everything, so sweet, so professional.
I brought my wedding Dress December 30th, Leaving on a holiday Jan 4th.
Anjelika gracefully managed to have my Dress altered in 1 Day !!!! Opened her store for me on Jan 1st!!!!
Brides and there Dresses can be very demanding and the alterations very consuming! I understood if she was not able to have it ready for me.
BUT she went out of her way to have my dress ready, I can not thank her enough....She made my wedding day Fabulous!
Even the time she spent with me was great...thank you for making this Bride feel like a Princess! Love ya. Great job!

I would highly recommend Ingenuity Couture to anybody looking to have an amazing/personable experience when coming down to getting your wedding dress altered. When we originally purchased our wedding dress, we were highly recommend to Ingenuity Couture. I must say right from the beginning we were greeted at the door with a huge smile from the staff and we felt very accepted. It was then we knew that we were in good hands. Anjelika is very fun to work with and she provided my wife and I her honest opinion. Anjelika was able to complete altering the dress very quickly and efficiently, especially when our wedding was a little less that 3 weeks away. When we picked up my wife dress it was altered very precisely. Ingenuity Couture is very organized and operates in a very professional manner.

Anjelika was wonderful, she altered my dress perfectly. Especially the hemming as it had many layers and ruffles I was nervous that it would look uneven or altered but it fit perfectly and looked flawless. Very good pricing as well.

Angelika was a pleasure to work with! She is knowledgeable and understood exactly what I needed/wanted done on my dress. She removed my boning to keep the lines clean and not with pointy boobs, and ensured there was no ruching whatsoever - my dress was deep v front and back with one inch straps, tight on waist then a bit of a A-line, flowy not puffy but several layers of tulle. She also hemmed and put in a bustle for my dress.
Her work was great and I was very happy with my dress! The only hiccup on the day was the hook and eye closure at my waist. It was pretty tight closing it, and it felt okay at the store, but hard to breathe on the day. By the time I walked down from the hotel and sat down in the limo and took a deep breath, the hook came apart. When we arrived at the venue, my mom was able to close it off with safety pins just to ensure the zipper would not ride down. She did it in such a way that the dress felt secure and also no one was able to see the safety pins. It would have been best if that didn't happen, but I was likely more comfortable afterwards for being able to breathe better.
All in all, Angelika did a fabulous job! It did take several appointments, but I felt better about that then having everything done at once, since you have to see how one change will impact the rest of the dress - and she hemmed inside layers first and then the top was marked for hemming afterwards to ensure nothing was made too short. I do wish it would have been a tad bit shorter as I found myself tripping on my dress a couple of times during the picture taking and reception.
She came highly recommended, even though I thought it was expensive ($593 for adjusting/tightening chest, boning, cups, straps, bustle and hemming), I did not shop around for other seamstress, so I don't know how much it would have cost me elsewhere.
She does however tell you all the pricing upfront instead of paying per visit without knowing how many visits you'll need.

The overall outcome was perfect for me - after several fittings and worried each time about what would be completed by the end date, that final fitting I had a huge smile on my face.
You have to be clear about your expectations and what you want. I did get some push back about this and that can't be done but it ended up being all perfect in the end, very happy.
appointments are pretty rushed, there are multiple women being seen at the same time.
I made sure to include everything in the "notes" section of their system "beading included etc etc" and yes, they still tried to charge me extra after initially saying it was included, but no fuss because it was right there in the notes! whatever agreement you make, put it in writing. Receipts don't show much.
All very nice ladies, talented. Process wise, not so impressed, but final result was perfect.
Prices are quite ridiculous, so push for what you want.

he service was okay, but every time I pointed out a flaw I felt like I got excuses not results. I was very unhappy with how the top of my dress fit after spending over 400 dollars (and then was expected to tip), the top was not made to fit my chest and hung off or collapsed in (very noticeably). Wish I would have shopped around. Also, the salon was kind of dirty.

I was recommended to Ingenuity Couture by a friend because Anjelika did a really good job on her wedding dress and was more reasonably priced. I thought that everything was great; Anjelika was super nice and I took my dress into her like 4 months before my wedding so I knew I had lots of time. She said it would only take 2 fittings, but I ended up having to go in 5 times and didn't get it until the week before my wedding. She was very accommodating on times though; offering to come in on days off or stay later. I honestly didn't know what to expect since I haven't had a wedding dress before. The style of my dress had a deep back so she said it had to be super tight or else the sleeves would just slip off. This is true to an extent, but literally made it hard to breath in the dress (you don't really notice it when you have the dress on for like 5 minutes during the fitting). As soon as I put my dress on my wedding day, the hook and eye ripped apart (because it was too tight). She said she was going to reinforce it, but I guess she didn't. Wasn't too big of a deal because the zipper did stay up on it's own (as far as I could tell). Then comes time for our grand entrance/first dance. I had three girls looking for the loop to bustle my dress only to find that it ripped (just the top layer; the lining bustle was fine). We had to use safety pins to bustle my dress. Not ideal since you can definitely see the safety pin. I don't actually know if she was cheaper or not since it still cost $250 to do the alterations (took in the dress and bustled it; no hemming). I have heard good things about Anjelika, so this may have just been a one off time, but I just thought I should share it!

She is too busy to take on as many customers as she does. I was constantly told work was not done, and when it came down to the point of rushing, the alterations were not as high of quality as I would have expected for the price I paid. There were 5 of us who used her for the wedding, 2 were satisfied with their small alterations, but the other 3 had several problems throughout the process. Very disappointing, especially since several of the shops recommend her. I would look up other bridal tailors, there are many excellent ones in the city.

I am not usually one to post online reviews or complaints but in this case I would feel like I was letting other brides walk into a very disappointing situation if I didn’t. Angelika at Ingenuity Couture is a seamstress recommended to me by Frocks where I bought my first wedding gown. I took it in to her with over a month before my wedding (thank goodness!) thinking it just needed to be hemmed. Angelika talked me into tapering the bodice, and I agreed since she is the expert. She also told me on my first visit that we would put in cups, a piece of boning in the center of the bodice and hem it. When I went back a week later, the only thing that had been completed was the tapering, however now there was a large pucker under my bust that had not been there before. Angelika assured me that this would be resolved with putting in cups and boning and not to worry. I should come back in two weeks and the dress will be ready to go home. On the day I was to pick it up, I arrived at my appointment, where I was made to wait, just like the two times before while she herded a crowd of graduates and brides into the change rooms, where you can hear her rushing them to speed up the process. This time my dress had been hemmed, cups had been whip stitched onto the INSIDE of the dress, not under the lining, cups that were way too small but as Angelika assured me “there is only one size of cups”. There was no boning and still a huge pucker in the centre of my dress. I asked her about this and she said she could do the boning while I waited, and she did in 5 minutes, sewing it through all of the layers of the dress. This resulted in the ruching on the front of my dress becoming wavy and distorted the entire top of my dress. I showed Angelika a before picture and compared it to the after and she continued to try to justify the changes she had made. Ultimately I took my dress elsewhere to be seen by another seamstress with 40 years of experience who discovered that my dress was taken in a

Terrible customer service. She is too busy to take on as many customers as she does. I waited for 45 mins in the front room and watched people who arrived after me for appointments that were at the same time as mine, go in before me. The front receptionist never asked me if i would like my dress hung up, so I was left holding it the entire time i waited to be helped. When I finally got in, my appointment lasted 5 minutes because Angelika didnt want to do anything other than hem my dress. When I asked about taking my dress in a little she said it didn't need to be taken in. The dress is still too big for me. They give you really poor service unless you are a bridge. She was recommended to me by the place I bought my dress (Beautiful Bride). I would suggest finding someone else!!! Don't waste your time or your money.
