Parents of the Bride

Michelle went above and beyond. The wedding was a postponed from Covid. The creativity and bringing things to life was amazing. Her design was personalized to the bride and the venue. She managed to balance the wedding Party, Parents, catering, DJ, Cake Vender and did all the decorating and floral designs herself. Words can’t express the guest reactions to this design and details.

Simply Amazing

Michelle took the time to understand exactly what my daughter and her fiance envisioned for their special day. She offered suggestions to compliment their theme while adhering to the all important budget. We engaged Michelle for all decor and could not have been more pleased. Michelle went out of her way to ensure the day was perfect! Guests still talk about how amazing everything was as well as what a great time they had - best wedding ever they said! We got married at The Mackey House on Sunday 7-15-18 First of all I want to say Thank you Michelle and Katie at Improvisions my wedding was perfect every detail was on key you guys worked so hard to make sure everything was perfect and it was. I was in such awwwwwh soaking up the moment like a sponge. The only thing I had to do was show up I felt like Cinderella and Michelle and Katie was my fairy godmothers my wedding decor was truly a fairytale fit for a princess. I recommend Improvisions to anyone who is getting married or any special occasion Michelle and her team at Improvisions are passionate about creating the event to fit the client needs and wants. I cannot say enough about Michelle at Improvisions of Grace. First of all, she is so talented. When we met at the venue for the first time, we were amazed at her visions for the space. The florals on our wedding day were beyond anything I could have imagined. She is so creative, and I believe she could bring to life any bride's vision. The best part of working with Michelle is her huge heart. She truly wants everyone to have the day of their dreams, and she is a joy to work with. We, especially my mother and I, appreciate all of the hard work of Michelle and the Improvisions of Grace team, and we will remember your kindness forever. We hired Michelle about a year ago for our wedding at the Mackey House in April 2018. We were interested in draping with lights on the deck at the Mackey House and were told that Michelle was the best.

That was an understatement. She did an absolutely incredible job. After locking her in for the draping, we just kept adding on services. The draping quote was out of our budget to begin with but she helped us out with pricing. Michelle was always so accommodating and helpful. At one point, we asked if she could get 2 dogwood trees for our ceremony. She looked everywhere in Savannah and couldn't find them. Instead of telling us no - she drove to South Carolina to get them!

We used her services for the bouquets, boutonnières and nosegays, draping and garland on the arbor, rose pedals down the aisle, dogwood trees and extra high top table rentals.

We didn't realize that she performed day of coordinator services when we first met her. We wound up hiring someone else in Savannah but sure wish we hired Michelle for that too. On the day of our wedding, Michelle had everything set up to perfection and delivered the bouquets and boutonnières to our house in Forsyth Park before pictures. She also provided us with easels, signage and extra last minute items that we needed at the venue. All of those she provided at no cost.

About 20 minutes prior to our ceremony, our day of planner was so behind on doing our flowers that Michelle stepped in and finished all of our flower arrangments for the reception. Once again helping out at no cost for something that wasn't her responsibility. She just realized that we were in need of help and stepped in! She stayed at the venue for a good portion of the night and helped out in many areas. We can't explain how grateful we were for her help. I can't say enough, if you need help with a day of planner or bringing your designs to life - MICHELLE is your woman!

Michelle and Katie helped make our sons wedding and reception a very memorable, and beautiful day. The ceremony was rained out and they worked tirelessly that afternoon to change locations and decorate at the last minute. From the flowers, drapery, table arrangements, to coordinating all the vendors and day of events, they were very professional and passionate about making the day a dream come true. They were a delight to work with.

Katie was hired as our day of wedding coordinator after Savannah Event Group disbanded and did not inform me! With only a few months left before our wedding, she was able to hash out last minute details and help me complete everything. Day of coordination was fantastic! She handled everything and allowed me to enjoy the day to its fullest. 100% recommend!

Absolutely the best decision regarding planning our wedding was hiring Michelle! Katie is amazing and we are beyond happy that we had her to coordinate all the big and small details for our wedding. She went beyond the call of duty assisting our guests as to where to go in between our ceremony and reception, keeping the rowdy bridal bunch on task, and orchestrating our entire wedding ceremony and reception. From the advice of a dear friend we used Michelle and Jo Anna at Improvisions of Grace as our Florist, decorations and Day of Coordination. They listened to what we wanted and helped us in the right direction and when it came time for last minute things Michelle helped make sure everything was good with the Venue and made sure we were still getting everything we paid for without us being stressed out. They did ABSOLUTELY fantastic and we would recommend them to anyone. Michelle was spot on with the flowers and what we were looking for. As of Day of Coordination couldn't have asked for anyone else. They made sure things ran smoothly even though there were some kinks (but not from them) everything went stress free and we had nothing to worry about. They have not only became friends but family to us. Also, for everything we asked for Improvisions is reasonably priced.

This WONDERFUL woman spent her time answering my many questions as a new bride with NO idea what to do. She promptly replied, both via email and phone to all my requests. And most importantly, she made me feel like a special bride, rather than a contract to be had. She worked diligently to make sure I got what made me happy, and within my limited budget. I cannot express how nice this was, after getting many invoices with no personal contact that made me feel like a number rather than a person. Shambre kept saying "my only goal is to make sure you are happy on your special day". How refreshing!

My goodness! Where do I even begin? Michelle (Improvisions) utterly changed our wedding beyond for the good. We had a destination wedding in Savannah while trying to plan it from the D.C. area. To say we were a little stressed about details was an understatement. Michelle was originally only hired as our florist because I just did not realize the full-scope of Improvisions' offerings. When we began to get very worried about the little details, Michelle politely stepped in with some minor suggestions. I learned instantly that we had made a huge mistake not hiring her for everything from the very beginning. We immediately did so on the spot, and it was like the weight of the world was taken off my shoulders. Michelle personally discussed with us both our vision for our wedding but also details about who we are as people. She took care of everything, and our wedding was absolutely perfect. When we walked into the venue, she had not only incorporated aspects we discussed but also little touches that made it perfect. She even hung pictures of us throughout the venue to tell our story. Don't make my mistake and think Improvisions only offers specific services. Michelle and her team do it all, and they do it VERY WELL. Improvisions is fair in its pricing, and Michelle and her staff go above and beyond. When you are one of Improvisions' brides, you will be nothing but taken care of and blown away. It was the best money we spent on our wedding. Michelle made it perfect and care-free so we could enjoy our day. Do yourself a favor and hire Michelle and her Improvisions team for your complete wedding planning from day one!

I don't even have enough words to describe how incredible Angela was for my wedding. We had so many issues with our venue, and couldn't keep a contact with anyone there, and went through at least 6 venue managers. Angela was my point of contact for everything through this, and she helped me get through to people at the venue for a few months even before the wedding. She went above and beyond the job of a Day of Planner.

On the day of, everything went perfectly. I wasn't stressed at all and she followed my day of timeline well, and was flexible when I needed to change it. She was so nice and so professional and the wedding moved smoothly because of her. She was absolutely incredible.

Angela was a wonderful day of coordinator. All of the little things I was stressed about up until that day she took control of and did not involve me in it. The venue we chose had to be flipped between the ceremony and reception so that was a bit stressful for the venue coordinator and Angela. I have seen her work before and I knew she would take my decorations and use them in many beautiful ways. As a bride, we have ideas of what the wedding will look like and she did it even better than I could have. Angela was great and I would both highly recommend her and use her again for my event planning needs.

We highly recommend Improvisions for your wedding décor and floral. Michelle and her staff are incredibly talented, creative and love what they do! I was a bit nervous planning floral and all the decorations for our destination wedding. Michelle made it very easy to do. We texted, emailed, and met in person twice to plan our day. She sat with us and assisted us for hours and hours until we had everything all figured out.

Michelle did such an amazing job with everything at the Mackey House. She gets excited to plan and create your unique atmosphere for your event. She is full of ideas. She will go above and beyond to ensure you are not stressed on your day and that you are having a great time. She comes prepared with everything,…just in the instance you have a crisis…..Michelle can “fix” it.

Majority of our guests complimented how beautiful our floral arrangements were and how beautiful the venue looked from the table centerpieces, cake table, ceremony arbor, to the pre-ceremony décor.

I can’t imagine our wedding without Michelle and her staff. She was excellent and we had the time of our life! We cannot thank Michelle enough for making our wedding day incredibly special. Thank you Michelle from the bottom of our hearts.

Michelle from Improvisions was incredible! She was extremely helpful while we planned our wedding at The Mackey House from 4 hours away. She answered emails in a timely manner and was very open to our ideas, while also suggesting some of her own. Throughout the process I was able to send her pictures of things I wanted for our wedding and she did the same. After realizing our venue added a permanent tent a few months before our wedding that I found a bit unsightly, she was able to drape the tent and add a beautiful chandelier at the last minute! She made us feel like we were her number one priority throughout the entire planning process. As the bride, she made me feel relaxed and I truly think that is one of the most important things a florist and decorator can do! My bouquet and my bridesmaid's bouquets were beautiful, as well as the groomsmen's boutonnieres. She is truly talented at what she does!

Michelle and her team are incredible. They made our wedding at the Mackey House so beautiful. The flowers, centerpieces, decorations, and all that they set up were absolutely perfect. Michelle is also extremely flexible. I had quite a few last-minute add on requests to the contract and she did everything with no issue.

Michelle is a beautiful person inside and out. She put my mind at ease throughout the entire planning process. She cares so much about her brides and making sure they are happy on their wedding day. She has a special gift for what she does and her kindness was so appreciated. I highly recommend working with Michelle and her team.

I was SO happy with Michelle and her entire team! Their help at my wedding was essential! Although I was reluctant to hire a wedding planner/decorator/coordinator (in fact, she was the last vendor I hired), my wedding would have been a massive mess without them! She helped me navigate the rain issues, helped plan a number of contingencies, decorated a DIFFICULT venue extraordinarily well and helped me ensure that I didn't need to worry about anything (although I still did!).

Her staff and assistants were great with some of my difficult guests. EVERYONE has told me that the wedding was beautiful (I don't remember it super well - the day flies by so fast, even if you are confident that it won't!), and I don't think the day could have been better! If you're on the fence, don't be! Hire Improvisions right away!

I cannot say better things about Michelle and her staff! They worked with my In-Laws to decorate our Rehearsal Dinner, which turned out absolutely beautiful! The attention to detail, hard work, and collaboration were second to none! As for our Wedding Day, Michelle made our dreams become a reality! It rained all morning and Michelle knew how badly I wanted our ceremony outside. She worked her tail off to set up two separate areas for us just in case it stopped raining. She went above and beyond to make sure I was happy. She made that Wedding everything we imagined. Her heart was in it just as much as ours, and it shows through in her work. I provided Michelle with very little information, I had no set colors or no vision in mind. We were married on Easter Sunday and I just told Michelle, I wanted an Easter feel to the wedding and to use Tulips. Michelle took that idea and my husband's love for James Bond and ran with it. She decorated our tables with pastels, came up with the idea to have an Easter Egg hunt with favors, and had trivia questions on the tables related to different James Bond movies. Our guests had so much fun! She was also there for the reception and found my husband a cigarette and martini glass so he could pose at the "Bond Bar" (she set up prior to the wedding) in his Bond inspired Tux. If you are looking for more than just flowers and someone that will take the time to make your event personalized to you and your future spouse's likes then you need to use Michelle. She will make everything beautiful and unique to you, she does not do cookie cutter wedding.

Michelle with improvisions was my saving grace! She was not just my decorator for my wedding, she was my right hand that day! My ceremony looked exactly like the pictures I showed her and she also did a memorial for my husbands mom who passed a way a few weeks before our wedding! I wanted all white flowers and she made that happen and they looked beautiful! She also came up with a game for my guest to play that everyone loved! Michelle ran around that day decorating my venue and making sure I was ok and that my day went perfect! If you are looking for just a decorator she is not for you but if you are looking for someone who wants to make sure your day goes as smoothly as possible and bring all your ideas to life she's your girl!

Michelle was a joy to work with! She did an amazing job on all of our floral decorations & centerpieces for the tables. She calls you monthly to check in for any updates and to just see how you are doing. I HIGHLY recommend Michelle for any wedding. She also saved my wedding day. My wedding dress alterations were completely wrong and not completed. Michelle came to rescue and fixed my dress for me with still some time to spare! If it wasn't for her being there to fix it I am not sure what I would have done. I was an absolute wreck and on the verge of not going to walk down the aisle, even though I know no one would have let this happen. I had so many compliments about on the decorations, set up, etc.

Michelle and Veronica were outstanding! Our wedding decorations and flowers turned out absolutely beautiful! Michelle is "recommended" by The Mackey House, and she should be required. She responded to all my crazy questions and assured me I wasn't crazy even though wedding planning makes us all a little crazy! She took care of our set up, flowers and ceremony decorations as well as all the reception decor and easily adjusted to all my last minute add ons! She was willing to do as much as possible with any budget we gave her and honestly we feel like she was the most valuable resource we had in Savannah. Oh My, What can we say that could actually convey the fabulous job Michelle did for the Wedding. Michelle handled everything for us. The decorations for the Ceremony were beyond belief and beyond compare to anything I have ever seen at a Wedding. The reception was beautifully arranged and decorated with exactly what we requested and extra touches that we did not even think about. Our Bride wanted peacock colors and a Peacock theme. The floral arrangements for the Ceremony site included beautiful white Peacock feathers and the Reception was done in colors of Peacock Silver, Teal and Purple. The floral arrangements of the Teal and Purple orchids were to " absolutely die" for. We gave Michelle our budget and she created a spectacular event for us. I would recommend her highly to anyone planning an event - Also I am located in Alabama and the Wedding was in Savannah Georgia. Michelle took our comments and made a dream wedding come true. We got married August 10th, just 2 short months after getting engaged. Improvisions came into the venue which was a southern mansion and decorated it accordingly and beautifully. The ceremony took place on the front porch, which she hung giant bird cage planters on both side and she drapped them with sheer white material. She arranged for the father of the bride and the bride to be brought up to the house in a horse drawn buggie that was decorated for the weediing. She brought in a water fountain in which she place the cake on top of. Every inch of the house was decorated with clocks and gold. She also ordered butterflies for me, the mother of the bride, to release at the daughter father dance to Butterfly Kisses. She really went beyond my expectations

My daughter Heather got married at the Mackey House in Savannah, GA on August 11, 2013. Michelle did an excellent job personalizing all of her flowers and table décor. My daughter loves football and her bridesmaids carried flowers that spelled out the name of her favorite's team mascot. She even had a football shaped bouquet to throw. From beginning to end (almost 20 months of engagement), Michelle was so great at making sure every part of our wedding was exactly how we wanted. She literally has numerous rooms and pictures of ideas for how to set up and decorate weddings and made sure everything was in a unique design that spoke to us and our dream wedding. In addition to making sure every part of our wedding was beautiful, she created all of our floral centerpieces, decor, bouquets, and boutonnieres, which helped pull all of our wedding details together, but not make it overboard. They were beautiful. Honestly, I can't say enough good things about Michelle. She is creative, helpful, SUPER cost effective, and so organized. She will go above and beyond to make sure every aspect of your wedding is perfect, stress free (she even went back to my house while I was taking pictures to get my marriage license after I forgot it on my bed), and always keeps you smiling. I don't know how she does it all while still staying calm and so happy, but she does and she's amazing! I recommend Michelle and all of her services 100 times over. She and her team will make every aspect of your wedding day even more perfect than you ever thought it could be.

Michelle was the wedding planner, day of coordinator and florist for my daughter's wedding and reception. Because it was a destination wedding, we relied on Michelle's experience and relationships with other vendors to pull off a wonderful wedding. Her recommendations of vendors were spot on and the team put together for this affair was perfect! The guests were raving about the venue, food, and the DJ which is what we hoped for. Michelle took my daughter's vision (over the phone I might add) and with a major change at the venue 2 weeks before the wedding, she was able to overcome the obstacle and create a beautiful setting for the ceremony and reception. Phone calls, and email were numerous because we were all travelling from different parts of the country and we needed to have everything in place upon arrival. A couple hours before the ceremony, my husband and I were sitting down, and taking it all in. Michelle walked in and said, "You look so relaxed and calm." That is the best compliment I can give Michelle and Improvisions from the mother of the bride's perspective. I was relaxed, calm and enjoying the day! My response was, "We're in good hands, thanks to you." Michelle took my daughter's vision, my budget and created a wonderful event that my husband is still talking about! I highly recommend her.

If you are overwhelmed by options - Michelle is THE BEST at providing direction that is clear, perfect, and in line with what you're looking for. She is sentimental and creative. Michelle was AMAZING! From understanding the complicated vision/inspiration I had for my wedding to executing it flawlessly and on budget. I couldn't have asked for a better wedding planner. Throughout the entire process was very knowledgeable and creative with coming up with ideas to make my ceremony and reception one of dreams. :) I also must mention that even during the wedding reception she went above and beyond the call of duty. I had lost one of my mom's diamond earrings (my something borrowed), which you could say brought a little downer to the reception because my focus (and everyone else's) was finding that earring before my mom found out I lost it. To make a long story short, my mom eventually found out I lost it and was OK with it she just wanted me to have a blast on my wedding, but it is as if the heaven's had opened because as soon as I finished telling my mom about losing her earring Michelle (Super Angel I call her) found the earring and returned it to my mom. My husband and I are so grateful to have had Michelle and her team working on our wedding! She provided our florals, other decorations and day-of coordination. We could not have found a better fit for us. Michelle is so amazingly creative. She took so much time to get to know us, our stories, our personalities and even our family history. We included a lot of personal touches, such as my mom's China and grandmother's hurricane oil lamps as centerpieces and wrapping my bouquet with my dad's handkerchief. Michelle made suggestions to make other things even more personal, such as adding his dad and granddad's shirt buttons to my groom's boutonniere. My bouquet was breathtaking. When I closed my eyes and pictured what my perfect bouquet looked like, Michelle created it! I am still in awe of her floral creations. She added so many personal touches to our space that every where we looked, it was a reminder of why everyone was there! She even framed photos of us (that we provided) and placed them around our venue! I did extensive research for our destination wedding and Improvisions definitely was the best value for what we received. Michelle went out of her way to accommodate our crazy schedule when we would travel for our planning weekends in Savannah. I changed my mind SEVERAL times on some decorative touches and Michelle was receptive and understanding every single time I frantically emailed or called! My only grumble with Michelle would be her response time sometimes is not as quick as I would have expected. She always got back with me, just sometimes not as expediently as I would have liked. In the end, we are so thankful to have had Improvisions as a part of our wedding team! Our day was beautiful and she helped to make our wedding dreams come true!

Overall I had a great experience with Improvisions/Michelle. We clicked right off the bat & she has a great personality. She even drove all the way to my home town to bring me a beautiful bouquet that she had made for me to use in my bridal photo shoot several weeks before the wedding. Everything with Michelle leading up to my wedding day was perfect & I expected nothing less on the big day. However, on my wedding day, I realized that some things were not as I had hoped. There were a couple of things that weren't done that had been discussed previously but the thing that bothered me the most is the mistakes on the signs that she made for me. Since the wedding, whether via video or pics, I have noticed misspelled/omitted words on 4 different signs that had been placed throughout the venue. This may not be a big deal to some but I am a huge stickler for correct spelling & I had wanted everything to be perfect. Obviously EVERYTHING can't be perfect but correct spelling on signs that you are making for the biggest day of a person's life shouldn't be too much to ask. Also with the amount that we paid Michelle, I really think that more care should've been into these with at least some type of proofreading by someone. Otherwise, decorations & flowers were absolutely beautiful. I think Michelle is a nice person & good at what she does but for some reason didn't pay enough attention to detail when it came to my wedding.

Michelle was very sweet and helpful when planning. While my flowers and arrangements were still beautiful, they did not look like we had discussed. Initially this was a downer, but nobody else knew and everyone thought they were beautiful. Otherwise, I felt the service provided was good.

Michelle did a great job with our bouquets, floral decorations, and table decor. They were all beautiful and reasonably priced. We chose a venue (Old Fort Jackson) that required a lot of setup in a short amount of time and I don't think Michelle was quite prepared for this. The groomsmen ended up having to help set up the seating for the ceremony. There was also miscommunication about returning our cupcake stand, which resulted in us having to personally deliver it to the owner of GiGi's house on Sunday as we're trying to get out of town for our honeymoon. She was not the most prompt in regards to responsiveness. Overall, decorations were great, but the day-of coordination was subpar.

Save yourself the heartbreak, run, go anywhere else

Words cannot explain my disappointment and feeling of betrayal and bamboozled. My (now) husband and I met with Michelle at our wedding venue and she made a great first impression. We felt like she knew the business, inside and out and was going to make our wedding a personal wedding. She boasted her experience and how she single-handedly “saved” our wedding venue and helped it become what it was today. She talked about the different design options she can do, all the little details she’ll be able to perfect. She promised us she could take care of floral designs, rentals, and be our day of coordinator. She talked about how she had this huge warehouse filled with wedding materials and if she had it, we could use it. We were so grateful. After about a week or so, she sent me the design for our wedding and said that everything was still changeable up to 30 days prior to the wedding. We paid the deposit. I noticed her response was starting to be a bit slow. We proceeded to pay off the remaining balance, 6 months before our wedding. Emailed her again, no response. Covid hit, months past, still no response. My husband emailed her, texted her, no response. We reached out to all of our vendors to see if they can see if something’s going on, still no response. Nothing. We got word that she’ll talk to people but when it comes to weddings, she just shuts down. Then her assistant reached out and said she went to Germany during covid (highly doubtful). Then we heard from other vendors that she stole money from other brides and ran. I had a panic attack. My other vendors stepped up and volunteered out of the goodness of their heart to cover our decor and day of coordinator. We heard nothing from this woman for over 8 months until AFTER our wedding where she claims she had no obligations to help us with anything until the week of the wedding. Then she stated that she hadn’t stolen our money and she planned on returning SOME of it. For $3201, no amount of communication, the amount of stress, the amount of heartbreak, the mental havoc she’s pulled on us, the work that my vendors and I had to redo to make up for her failure. I can not give this woman and her business an ounce of trust or recommendation. Please do not work with her. Save yourself and work with anyone else. Do not trust her. You do not need to be heartbroken while planning your wedding. You do not need to walk around town and be “that couple that got Michelled”. Don’t do it. Go with that other vendor, any vendor, anyone that would respect you enough to reply earlier than 8 months.

My husband and I had our wedding in Savannah and the venue’s contract required we have a separate coordinator. Improvisions is the venue’s “preferred vendor” so we signed with them. Before signing the contract, I was contacted non-stop about the status of whether we wanted to select them as a vendor. After signing our contract, we heard nothing from them even when our original coordinator left the company. Michelle and her staff not only failed to routinely answer our emails but they were extremely non-flexible on their itemized ‘Day of Coordinator’ tasks. We didn’t need them to do many of the items on the list and instead of utilizing the extra time for tasks we needed help with they refused. For example, they were willing to set up a ‘unity candle’ in the list of services. We didn’t have a unity candle so instead of setting up another set of objects like 3 candlesticks on the welcome table they explained that they were not there to set up my “DIY” wedding. The whole time they acted resentful that we didn’t buy a bigger package or rent more decorations from them. Their contract is extremely vague and they were belittling when I tried to obtain clarification on how their services worked. A little over one month prior to our wedding, my husband and I decided to terminate our contract and forfeit our $500 deposit because the customer service was so horrible. We loved every single one of our vendors, except this company. I would strongly caution you against signing with them for any services. The only reason they get 75% of their business is because of the venue. There are plenty of other wedding vendors in Savannah that are far more respectful and professional than Improvisions.

I was referred to Michelle from my wedding venue. At first all was great dealing with kay and getting my order in. I paid my deposit and then when I needed a revision and a invoice to pay the balance it was a month and I finally got Michelle to call us. Kay was no longer there. Michelle assured me my order was fine, we went over it on the phone, through emails, I have a contract with amendments (all signed by me and sent from Michelle) I paid my balance as I was told to prior to the wedding. Day of the wedding at first glance my bouquet looked great (around 1230pm) went about ym day getting ready. Went down to get corsages and boutonnieres for the dads and everyone they were not there. We started calling Michelle and texting no response from my wedding people and the venue manger. FINALLY she responds and is at another wedding and is not bringing my flowers back. By this time the corsages and my bouquet were wilted and poor quality. We had to reassemble the corsages and remove flowers so they looked "ok". My venue manger had to create my 5 missing flower and did the best she could. During pictures my petals were falling off the photographer was pulling pieces off since it was awful looking. Finally we took all the flowers and put them aside, she never reached out to me to apologize or offer any type of refund for the missing flowers. For going on 2 days we can not get her to reply in the several calls/texts/emails to her. All she sent me was "im at work at the moment and will call later" still nothing. I would not use her or refer her to anyone. Save yourself the headache and go elsewhere! I would give her 0 out of 5 stars if I could!
