My fiance and I had such a positive experience working with Nancy for premarital counseling. From the very first session, she created a welcoming and comfortable environment that made it easy for us to open up and have meaningful conversations.
One of the things we appreciated most was the use of thoughtful personality assessments and compatibility frameworks. The insights we gained from those tools sparked conversations we probably wouldn’t have had otherwise and helped us better understand each other’s communication styles, strengths, and potential growth areas. It felt structured but never clinical, everything was practical, engaging, and directly applicable to real life.
We chose to meet in person, which made a huge difference for us. Being face-to-face created a safe, focused space where we could really lean into the process without distractions. Each session left us feeling more aligned, more confident, and genuinely excited about our marriage.
By the end of our time together, we didn’t just feel “prepared”, we felt stronger as a team. We’re so grateful for the tools and perspective we gained, and we would absolutely recommend her to any couple looking to start their marriage on a solid foundation. -

Although this day was cold and windy, it was magic! Nancy was so thoughtful, attentive to detail, and made the whole experience so sweet. We were nothing but smiles, laughter, and tears of course. Of all the wonderful things at our wedding, we received the most compliments about our wonderful officiant, Nancy Woods!
When we started planning, my husband and I felt very lost about vows and readings. We were concerned we'd have limited options since we don't have any religious affiliation, and we hadn't been to any weddings that felt like what we wanted.
In our first meeting with Nancy, she made it clear that our wedding was about US, not about any preconceived notions about what a wedding should be. She helped us focus on what mattered to us, and how we wanted to communicate. In addition to providing really helpful options for readings and vows, Nancy asked us some questions about our relationship to get to know us better. She used all of this information to craft a ceremony that was incredibly thoughtful, perfectly unique, and made our guests both laugh and cry.

My (now) wife and I met Nancy in person at an open venue with several booths for engaged couples to meet potential vendors (dj, baker, photographer, etc).
I was immediately impressed by her calm and sincere nature. She came across as intelligent, kind, and genuine. We didn't belong to a church and wanted a professional to officiate instead of a friend or relative. We decided to move forward with Nancy because she provided pre-marriage counseling as well as officiating services. This seemed like a great way for our officiant to get to know us a little bit before the wedding.
My fiancé and I felt confident and strong in our relationship but still wanted to go through pre-marriage counseling. How can anyone be certain about an outcome they haven't experienced yet? We met with Nancy at her lovely home and had several great sessions. The homework Nancy assigned before we met was important and thoroughly touched on every aspect of our future together.
Nancy was very flexible to be as spiritual, religious, and secular as we wanted throughout the sessions. We touched on topics that were very private, but I never felt uncomfortable discussing them in front of Nancy. She did a fantastic job facilitating some important discussions between my wife and I, and we are even stronger now because of it. She did not tell us what or how to feel. There was no judgement Instead, she invoked a powerful discussion between the two of us through thoughtful questions and mediation.
There was a scheduling conflict the day of our wedding with Nancy that we knew well in advance. Nancy helped us rehearse and prepare the ceremony, but Paloma oversaw the officiating on the day of our wedding. We were provided an outline of a ceremony that we tailored to meet our needs. Nancy and Paloma were easy to work with and answered any questions we had quickly. In the end, we rewrote most of the ceremony, but it was not an issue for Paloma. She did a great job and next thing we knew, we were married.
Many of the things we learned about each other through counseling with Nancy still come up. One of my favorite discoveries is how much we enjoy checking in with each other for 30 minutes a day, usually on walks around the neighborhood. Now that we're married, we plan to go back for a few more sessions to see what else we can discover about ourselves! If you're on the fence, I highly recommend at least checking it out for one or two sessions. You have nothing to lose.
Nancy is great and I recommend her to all my friends who are engaged! -

Nancy did a fantastic job! After a family friend dropped out of officiating, we reached out to her a little worried that we were too close to our wedding date, but it was no problem. I highly recommend Nancy Woods as an officiant for a wedding, renewal of vows or just a recommitment ceremony. She took on my desire to “wed” my husband who is very ill and I know he’s afraid I will leave. I asked Nancy to do a ceremony where I would “marry” him to show that I am not leaving despite the hardship of terminal illness. She found a perfect poem and was able to incorporate all that I wanted the ceremony to be. We kept changing plans because of Covid lockdown at my husband’s assisted living and Nancy adapted readily and well. She gave us everything we could have wanted and more - and tremendous memories. -

Nancy was our officiant for the small wedding we had to have due to unforeseen circumstances this March, but will also be joining us again in June for our bigger wedding celebration! We love Nancy! My wife and I got married a couple Saturdays ago and had Nancy officiate our wedding. It was the happiest day of our lives and much of that joy came from Nancy. We met Nancy at a bridal extravaganza. We talked to SO many vendors that day but only one really left an impact. When speaking with Nancy, my wife and I both gravitated towards her calm and thorough way of speaking, her meaningful eye contact, and her warm smile. She genuinely seemed interested in getting to know us, so we decided we’d like to get to know her too. Nancy scheduled several zoom meetings with us in the months leading up to our big day. She was very flexible with the meeting times and always worked around our busy schedules. At our fist zoom meeting, I asked if we would be her first same sex marriage. Nancy confidentially responded, “oh no!” and explained that she was currently in the process of working with another lesbian couple. Her shock at even being asked that question was just what I was looking for. Nancy treated us with nothing but love and respect throughout the whole process. She wrote, rewrote, tweaked, then rewrote again our ceremony script. I could tell she really wanted to get it perfect, and she did. All of my family and bridesmaids adored her. If you are looking for an experienced and thoughtful officiant to make your ceremony go smoothly, look no more! Nancy is the best!! -

Nancy is the BEST!
When we were searching for an officiant, I found that Nancy came highly recommended by several other brides in a Facebook group so I decided to give her a shout and I was not disappointed!! Nancy was so kind and welcoming from the jump and it was an honest connection my now husband and I felt! We did our marriage counseling with her and she allowed me to be vulnerable and created a safe place for my husband and I to hash out any unresolved problems to prepare for marriage! During our wedding rehearsal, she took on my entire wedding party that was full of wild and intense personalities and made our wedding day so special! I was specifically looking for someone that checked off certain boxes - openminded and happy to do nonreligious weddings, affordable, and offered premarital counseling. Nancy fit the bill and from the start she was warm and supportive! We had a little miscommunication/uncertainty with one part of the ceremony but it all worked out and throughout the process she made it clear that it was all about what WE wanted and what felt like the best fit for us, and that was very appreciated. Kind, genuine, and easy to get along with!
Let me start by saying that if you’re looking for a wedding officiant and you want someone kind and genuine, look no further! Nancy is the sweetest woman ever and her heart really comes out in her ceremonies. We had a wedding back in April (2021). She FaceTimed with us a couple of times to chat and get a feel for one another. Even with my scatter brained thoughts and my husbands “wait until the last minute for everything” approach, she was still able to put a lovely ceremony together that fit well with us. Her suggestions were spot on and she helped us figure things out by taking charge during our rehearsal and wasn’t fussy at all when we had to try a few times to get things right. She was easy to get along with and everyone though she was wonderful. A+, would highly recommend.

Rev. Nancy was so great and easy to work with. We meet her at the Bridal Extravaganza and scheduled a follow-up consultation with her to determine if it was a good fit. She was so kind and helpful throughout the process and she was especially accommodating when we had to reschedule our wedding due to Covid. Before the ceremony she worked with us to find the perfect readings and made a few other slight changes as we requested. On the day of she was an absolute joy and we feel so blessed to have had her marry us! -

We hired Nancy to officiate our wedding online. We ended up working it all out on FaceTime and she did such an amazing job. Also she worked with us on the drop off and pick up for our marriage license which was a huge blessing to be able to skip mailing it to her. My wife and I did not initially plan to hire an officiant (we wanted to be married by a person close to us). But when COVID prompted uncertainty in that plan, we connected with Nancy just a month before our wedding, and how lucky we were to find her! We had a great time working with her as a destination couple; she made time to meet with us on FaceTime and learn our story, communicated consistently in the days leading up to the wedding, walked us through the ceremony step-by-step, and made us feel comfortable and ready for our ceremony. 17 Years and Counting...
I have to confess, our experience with Nancy was almost 2 decades ago (5/17/2003) but so very memorable. Like most couples, our begining was quite unique and magical. Our union included a 3 year old and two families from different backgrounds. The ceremony was simply beautiful and felt perfectly customized to us. Also, I can't speak enough about the positive impact premarital counseling had and is still having on our marriage and family. I have no doubt, it's a huge part of our success. Nancy never mentioned a review of her services. She and our experience deserve to be shared with others though.

No words can describe how beautiful Nancy made our ceremony. She is honestly the BEST decision my wife and I made for our wedding. She made our ceremony unique and that is something we both will remember.
My wife and I moved to Arizona a few months before the wedding and Nancy made it her priority to check in on us (not many will do that).
The unity heart was something my wife and I wanted and Nancy wrote her own version for the unity heart. It made everyone including herself tear up.
If you need a wedding officiant for your wedding Nancy Woods is definitely the person you want! Nancy is passionate in what she does and it shows!!!!

We met Nancy at a wedding fair and I immediately knew she was "the one"! I connected with her instantly after sharing something personal with her and she met me with a big warm hug. Nancy is such a caring, genuine, and sweet soul! She tailored our ceremony to our personalities and was respectful of our religious beliefs. We told her we wanted something short and sweet, and that's exactly what we got, but Nancy was able to craft the ceremony in such a way that none of the love and heartfelt sentiments were left out. We met with her a few times before our wedding for premarital counseling and found it incredibly beneficial, and we can't wait to meet with her for our one year "how's it going" meeting! She's become part of our family for sure! -
