Everyone at the Hyatt Regency in Sarasota was amazing! The venue was beautiful we had our reception in the boathouse. The food was amazing and we received exceptional service. We were even able to arrange for our out of town guest to stay there as well as a lovely brunch the morning after to celebrate! Everything was organized and we were very pleased with this venue I'd highly recommend them! -

We are so grateful we could get married this year despite all the complications. Carol, Sarp and the entire team at the Hyatt Regency Sarasota gave us an unforgettable night we will always treasure. We decided to get married and from the beginning we felt like we were in the most capable hands. We wanted a convenient location to our home in Sarasota, as well as a place our families from out of town had to congregate and relax and enjoy the weekend. We also wanted a beautiful place to celebrate our love and We will always look back with joy and gratitude. Every effort was made to accommodate our many requests and put our worries at ease. We had a magical day and cannot believe how the staff went above and beyond to give us an unbelievable evening. I was able to make arrangements and leave everything in professional hands and enjoy the ride. -

Natalie Sent on 10/26/2010We booked our wedding from Connecticut and the team at the Hyatt Regency made the task easy and were able to accomodate all my needs. We were married on one of the busiest days of the year (10/10/10) and though there were other weddings taking place, we felt the true dedication of the team to ours and I know the other brides that day felt the same. The location is amazing and the rooms are comfortable and modern. I would recommend this location to any bride looking for a great, friendly location and professional staff dedicated to making every aspect of your wedding unique. We held our rehearsal dinner there as well and they were able to get live music with one days notice! Additionally, the value for the money was incredible! They helped make my day truly rememberable. -

Dawn Sent on 10/26/2010Hyatt Regency Sarasota is a gorgeous, budget-friendly venue for both ceremony and reception.
The outdoor, lushly landscaped, grass ceremony site is adjacent to Sarasota Bay, across from the Hyatt's marina and parallel to its free-form, waterfall pool. It has a large wooden pergola (arch) with hooks to hang flowers, draping, etc.
A standard ceremony package includes chairs, but they're kind of ugly metal ones with blue upholstering. Nicer ones can be rented for additional cost & delivery fee.
Audio was a modest $75 (for our songs and the officiant's mic), and the Hyatt also set up bug lanterns and a water cooler for no extra charge.
The nice part is that the Hyatt takes care of set-up, break-down and cleanup; plus, the couple and guests have free reign of the beautiful property. It has many scenic nooks both inside and out. And, it's just a short stroll to a bayside beach and pier, where we took sunset photos afterward.
We didn't expect it to be as laid-back as it was--we figured 'Hyatt' meant 'snooty', LOL--not so at all.
Interior decor is Lily Pulitizer pastels (with a Lily store, too). And all Hyatt staff are professional but not stuffy. The vibe is "resort casual", which is what we wanted.
Hyatt provids a coordinator with all packages, so we didn't need to hire any other day-of or event coordinators (plus, I did all the outside coordination/research/purchasing myself).
Hyatt's Carol Danisi coordinated everything for us. She's been there 27 years and was very helpful getting everything together.
The only thing is that she doesn't respond immediately via email--in the months beforehand, sometimes it was a week or more. In the closing month, she still wouldn't get back to me for a few days. Getting her by phone is suggested. But even then, I found I had to re-send things that she said she didn't have, and/or forgot a few details we'd talked about.
That aside, she did an amazing job of getting our ceremony and 'reception' together, organizing the entire day and completing the vision of what I wanted my 'reception'/dinner to look like.
We didn't do a traditional reception; instead, we used half of their in-house restaurant and did a dinner for 35. It was intimate, cosy, relaxed and beautiful.
One thing that didn't go as planned: despite limiting our menu to 4 items and having a reasonably small party, food service timing was terrible.
Appetizer service took over 30 minutes to get to each person, and b&g were served last! Dinner was worse; while they served us first, the other couple at our table didn't get their entrees for 20 minutes, while others were served around us.
My father was one of the last to be served and that entire service took another half hour!
We also had eight 'children' present: 5-15 yrs old, and arranged to have a kids' menu for whichever wanted it. Well, that turned out weird, too.
One waiter told the older kids they could ONLY have the kid's meal, and then, oddly, all kids were served a good 20 minutes BEFORE the adult service even started. So, what were they supposed to do while the adults ate?
That whole part was perperplexing, although the food was delish with healthy portions.
When it was time to cut the cake, there weren't any dishes, forks, or waiters to be found. I had to go to the kitchen to get them myself.
Other than those small snafus, everything was lovely and the price was EXTREMELY affordable (~$3k, including alcohol).
We were pleasantly surprised to find a bottle of sparking cider (we're non-drinkers) and chocolate-covered strawberries in the room afterward, courtesy of Carol. (Note: rooms weren't included b/c we didn't have enough people staying--their minimum is 5 rooms before yours is comped.)
Our room plus my father's, for two nights, was an extra $800.
In all, we loved having our ceremony and reception at the Hyatt. I can't wait to see pix taken at their amazingly photogenic site. -

Annie Sent on 04/21/2013At times it was several days before we got a reply to an email, but overall, it was a great experience. There were 3 weddings going on, and I never felt like we took a back seat because we were a small group. The Chief was very willing to modify the menu per our requests. Downside is that you get charged for EVERYTHING! $3.00 and up to deliver gift bags to guests who were staying there. Fortunately I only had 3 to be delivered, however,one guest did not receive it.
A huge service charge (20%) added to your bill, so be warned about this. -

Originally we were having a destination wedding in June in Cancun but COVID happened. We searched online different venues and once we went to the Hyatt I didn’t have to go to the other venues. Loved the Palm Terrace for the ceremony. We were going to have the reception at the boat house but again due to COVID we were switch to the ballroom and I must say it was perfect. Food was delicious, we were able to distance the tables and overall it was a beautiful wedding and I wouldn’t change anything. -
