The Hyatt Regency- McCormick place is definitely underrated as a wedding venue. The location is awesome. You are right in the heart of the city. At night, the lights around the McCormick center light up and provides a great ambiance for guests during the cocktail hour/dessert time. Being affiliated with Hyatt, we decided to choose a venue that would offer us points. We used points for our honeymoon in Hawaii due to this. I wanted to highlight the staff- especially Stacy Terpsma. She was excellent to work with and was extremely diligent in ensuring we had the best possible items for our wedding and coordinated with us. I highly recommend the venue as well as the staff.

The Hyatt McCormick Place was the perfect venue for our wedding. From the beginning planning stages to the actual day - everything was executed professionally, and with distinct flare. They made this huge aspect of planning so much easier!

We had our 2013 NYE wedding at the Hyatt McCormick Place and it was absolutely the best night of our lives! We looked at 5-6 different venues in downtown Chicago, and nothing could compete with the Hyatt when compared to the package, amenities, flexibility, and the accommodations. Our priority was to make sure our guests had enough to eat and drink, including an open bar. We choose the personal preference package and the package was really flexible. Stacy Terpsma and team were wonderful to work with right down to every detail. They had great ideas for how to set up the room and how to make the best use out of the space. And the FOOD! I cannot begin to tell you how everyone was raving about the food, wine, drinks and excellent service. Thank you Hyatt McCormick Place!

Stacy was very professional and made the planning for my daughters wedding a joy. She was able to keep communication with my daughter who lived out of town. I would highly recommend this venue.

Overall we were very happy. We had a lot of guests from out of town flying in for the wedding. The reduced room rates is what everyone appreciated the most. We also had a dinner the night prior for some of the guests who couldn't make it to the rehearsal dinner the night before at an outside restaurant. Everyone enjoyed that. We also had a brunch the next day and were able to reserve some space there, again raved about the food. I created a website on the knot.com with enough info about travel and tourist information which really helped everyone get in and out of the airport quickly. Our catering manager was Stacy Terpsma. She was really great, we had a lot of questions, concerns, multiple email, phone calls. She was really patient through the whole process. That really made the night, she was there at the reception that night as well to make sure everything went smoothly. I would highly recommend the venue. We probably looked at 10 venues in the city and decided on this one. It really came down to cost and Stacy to be honest with you. We felt comfortable and we have actually stayed at the hotel multiple times since then. We live in the suburbs now, but when we come down to the city we usually stay here. Any couples that are looking for a venue, I would highly recommend this venue for your wedding day. Can't say enough about the place. Thanks again!
