Winter Wedding
We had a rehearsal event and wedding at the Hyatt Regency. We booked the Vu Restaurant for the rehearsal. The wedding ceremony and reception were in the ballroom. The guests were amazed by the view. Both nights, the service was great and the food was delicious. Melissa is super organized and executed our events without a hitch. She'll give you her honest assessment on the space and what other vendors will bring to the table. -

Wedding of my dreams
Everything went PERFECT my wedding specialist was Meredith brown and she was super sweet throughout the whole process. They had little special details for us during our wedding and the time we spent afterwards. BIG shoutout to our butler Daniel!!! He was the best! So so so helpful and calm and always on top of everything I can’t thank him enough-

Fantastic Wedding Venue
The Hyatt Regency Jersey City was a recommendation from our band, the Metropolitan Players, for our wedding venue. We wanted a venue that had an outdoor ceremony space for a May wedding, a great view of Manhattan and unobstructed views for the reception (open plan and no columns in the space). When we visited the venue we immediately knew we wanted to get married there. The space and views are amazing!
Nicole Johnson, our wedding specialist at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City, was so helpful throughout the entire planning process. She was always responsive and quickly answered any questions we had along the way. She made the planning process so smooth. It was all so organized! We also contracted a hotel room block and a farewell brunch for the day following our wedding.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were met by Daniel, our wedding butler. We totally underestimated his role for our wedding day. He was absolutely amazing! He made sure everything was moving along according to schedule, everyone was in the right place at the right time, that we stayed hydrated and had something to eat all day, and he even fixed a problem with the wedding gown! We didn't have a first dance routine, just planned to wing it when time came. Daniel gave us a few dance step suggestions that made our first dance better than we planned. The food and drinks were delicious! We loved every minute of our wedding at the Hyatt. It was all so perfect! We were so happy to have had our wedding at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. Nicole, Daniel and the entire Hyatt team were wonderful to work with. -

Beautiful Wedding and Great Experience with the Hyatt Regency Jersey City
My wedding specialist with the Hyatt Regency Jersey City was Nicole Johnson. She is amazing! She was very responsive to my emails/questions. She was very patient through the stress of wedding planning. She was excited to plan out the details of the wedding with me and was very thorough. I would recommend Nicole and the Hyatt to anyone wanting a beautiful wedding with a NYC view. -

We highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Jersey City for a wedding ceremony/reception. First of all, the views are insane and really offer guests something to remember. Second of all, the staff is very responsive and helpful. And Third, the food was also a hit. We had about 150 guests and 20 people in our wedding party. We did not have a planner and our Wedding Specialist helped us every step of the way, along with our Butler on the day of the wedding. Our photographer even remarked that the staff was some of the best he's worked with. We had a suite the day of and a board room to get ready in. They are very experienced and make everything manageable, along with providing great recommendations. In additions, there's perks such as reward points that can be used towards a honeymoon. Thanks again to the Hyatt team. -

Our experience with the Hyatt Regency Jersey City was excellent. From our very first meeting with Nicole Johnson to the morning after the wedding, everything was so wonderful. She is professional, kind, thoughtful and a pleasure to work with. She is talented and informative. With her guidance, planning was fun and seamless. Nicole had a calming effect on us and we knew we were in her good hands every step of the way. The day of the wedding we had the pleasure of also working personally with Daniel. He is awesome. His attention to detail and ability to take control of any situation allowed us to enjoy every moment of our day worry-free. He made us feel like royalty. He was there for both of us, but as the bride's assistant for the day, I can't say enough for all he did. He was tuned in to my every emotion and played such an essential role throughout the day. I was blessed to have him by my side. We also can’t forget Chef Chris and all the delicious dishes our guests are still raving about. We could not be more pleased with all the food and beverages we chose. Even our tasting event was memorable! During our planning and stay, we enjoyed several lunches and dinners. Cody, who manages the restaurant VU could not have been more helpful and accommodating.
Our wedding was amazing. The Jersey City Hyatt is a spectacular venue. Their awesome staff just puts them over the top.

We are so so happy with our weddding day turned out thanks to the Hyatt Jersey City. Our wedding day was absolutely beautiful. We initially worked with Melissa Magin who was extremely professional and a pleasure to work with for contracts/initial day of coordination. Melissa was kind enought to help with picking our caterer which was the one of the best decisions we made for the wedding. We then worked with Sanya Kumar for the detailed day of planning. We cannot say enough wonderful things about Sanya. She was so easy to work with and helped make all of our dreams come true. We initially booked it for the view and were so pleased with everything else that came with it, esp the incredible staff that worked with Sanya. Sanya and her staff worked endlessly the day of to make sure that we received the best possible experience. At the end of our wedding day, our suite had a picture of me and husband in a beautiful frame which was such a beautiful detail and made us so happy at the end of our day.
If you're looking for a venue that's absolutely beautiful, accomodating, professional and warm hearted people, this place is for you. I would recommend this venue to anyone planning a wedding. We were so happy with our day. -

Working with Hyatt JC was an absolutely wonderful experience from beginning to end. We worked primarily with Melissa, but the entire team including Nicole, Sanya and more, were absolutely top notch. From the very beginning Melissa, made us feel comfortable and answered all of our questions (even the repeats!). Melissa's enthusiasm is contagious, and we were in good hands every step of the way. I can barely express how helpful she was throughout the whole process. She deserves a raise for all of the extra work that she puts in, I don't know how she manages it all! When it came to the tasting, it was like hanging out with a friend that just happened to know absolutely everything about weddings. I couldn't imagine a better, or more beautiful experience! As the day approached, Melissa went over every detail, and accommodated every request so that there was nothing to stress about. There is not one thing that she wasn't able to make happen, including a surprise friend flying in, a custom drink change, perfect Christmas decor and much much more! Melissa is THE BEST.
The hotel itself is stunning; modern and fresh. The views cannot be understated. The Manhattan Ballroom on the 9th Floor was absolutely the perfect urban setting of our dreams. The food is absolutely out of this world. Friends are still raving about it. Forget what you may think about "hotel food." This is food worthy of five stars and just happens to be in a hotel.
DANIEL. I heard so much about him before I had the pleasure of meeting him, and STILL he exceeded all expectations. He played an essential role, one that I truly didn't anticipate the importance of. He coordinated everything so that we didn't have to worry. He was truly there for US, the bride and groom, he helped shield us from the stressors of the day (ALL OF THEM) so that we could have the day and night of our lives. I can't speak highly enough of him, there are not enough words or enough space!
Thank you to the entire incredible team! -

Lovely experience at the Hyatt Vu! Needed to book a place within 3 weeks (super late notice) and everything worked out beautifully. The view of the NYC skyline is unmatched. The food was perfect, not too little and not too much. The concierage app was unresponsive, however, there was always someone nearby to accommodate any needs. Great place, would definitely have a second wedding here again! haha! -

We cannot say enough wonderful things about this venue. Our wedding day was PERFECTION!! From start (tour, contract negotiation) to finish (the big day), the hotel's wedding specialist, Melissa Magin, was top notch and made the entire planning process so easy breezy for us. Melissa made our dream wedding a reality. Her expertise and logistical prowess really made for a seamless flow of events on the day of our wedding and having her coordinate your wedding is probably the single biggest perk of choosing this incredible venue. Our butler, Daniel, was also amazing – we really did not lift a finger the day of the wedding, and our glasses were always full! It's not an inexpensive venue, but for what you get, the value is great. They throw in lots of fun extras (e.g., the wedding cake from Carlos' bakery (which generally retail for over 2K), the cake tasking, the food/beverage tasking, beautiful room for the bride and bridesmaids to get ready in the morning of the wedding (with breakfast and mimosas), honeymoon suite (the Ellis Suite) for bride and groom the night of the wedding, etc.). The main draw for us was the incredible location (omg, THE VIEW), and while we didn’t initially book the venue for the food, our tasting was after we booked it, the food was absolutely superb. This we learned at our tasting, which was a total blast – come hungry AND thirsty!! And everyone, including us, devoured the cocktail hour delights and salad and entre on the big day. Tons of compliments from guests that the filet mignon was cooked to perfection, etc.
We married in January, so weather was a concern, but we lucked out and got a clear, dry, albeit freezing, day. If you are looking for elegance and convenience, this venue is for you. And I would especially recommend it to anyone considering a winter wedding. We did the ceremony and reception on-site, and many guests stayed overnight. Amazing time! Special thanks again to Melissa!! -

My husband and I got married at the Hyatt in August. We had so much fun and everything turned out better than we could imagine! The views were beautiful and the Hyatt staff was great. We’d like to thank the Hyatt Regency on the Hudson Jersey City very much for providing us with a truly perfect wedding in every aspect!! Melissa, Sanya, Daniel and everyone else who worked with us throughout the process were very professional, responsive, kind, helpful, and patient with us with all our questions and requests!! Dozens of our guests said it was the best wedding they had ever been to, and that was due to the excellent service, amazing food, breath taking views, and live music!! Thanks again Sanya, Daniel, and Melissa for making all our wedding dreams come true!! As many of our guests said, this venue is the perfect setting for a wedding and the NYC skyline views are second to none!!! We highly recommend getting married there!!

Where to start! First of all, our wedding was held this past summer in July 2017. What an amazing day we were able to experience. The weather was perfect, the view was unbelievable, and the staff that worked with us were nothing but superb! Our special thanks must go specifically to our coordinators at the Hyatt, Melissa M. and Sanya K., Daniel (our amazing day of Butler), and Christopher C. We could not thank you all enough for making our day perfect. Melissa and Sanya, thank you both for putting up with all of our requests throughout this process and being patient and professional the entire time! Daniel, our day would not have been the same without you. You truly have mastered the craft of weddings and helping couples enjoy their day to the fullest extent! You were phenomenal and to anyone who is even on the fence about hosting their wedding at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City, look no further than this venue! We did the option of having a "buffet" style dinner with different stations including tacos, burgers/sliders, Chinese, and of course, a bacon bar! We haven't stopped getting compliments on the food, drinks and of course the view. Everything is unbeatable. Again, these were the people who truly made everything come together so perfectly. So again, from the both of us, THANK YOU!! -

Where to begin on the Hyatt!? Can't say enough amazing things about the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. We quite literally owe our entire wedding to them and their incredible staff. On Friday August 11th, my husband and I were supposed to be getting married at Battello, a restaurant located in Jersey City. On Thursday, August 10th, we were delivered some of the most horrible news you can get 24 hours before your wedding, which was that Battello was shutting down, effective immediately. After a few moments of complete panic we started to call new venues in hopes that someone would be able to accommodate a 200 person wedding 24 hours before the date. Well the Hyatt, did just that and more! The staff did an UNBELIEVABLE job of putting the event together in so little time. We had our dream ceremony outdoors with the most stunning views of Manhattan as our backdrop. The cocktail hour and reception ran completely seamlessly due to the amazing staff at the Hyatt, including Sanya (who I called my guardian angel that day!) and Abdul. Our guests are still raving about the food and views. Thank you to everyone at the Hyatt who saved our wedding and helped create our dream wedding, a night we'll remember for the rest of our lives! -

Magical. Breathtaking views. Amenities. The list goes on and on with the Hyatt and everything keeps getting better. Couples reading this, you have to book an appointment with Melissa and ask her to meet the rest of the group, especially Daniel and Danielle! Everyone goes above and beyond to making your wedding day flawless. We cannot thank them enough for all the support and services they provided for us. Daniel will literally take care of you both on the big day. There are times where when we go "blank", worrying about wedding logistics, where to go, limo, etc. All I can say is, Daniel has got you covered to enjoy your big day. He is like the ultimate Alfred to Batman against all wedding stress. Danielle was our go-to for everything wedding planning related. She was always reachable by phone and email. She was so patient, thorough and accommodating with all our questions/last minute requests. She would make sure that everything is all set for the wedding by frequently keeping track of your wedding planning progress weeks before the big day. You two could definitely just sit back, relax, enjoy and let Hyatt take care of the rest! Along with the rest of the Hyatt staff, everyone was truly tremendous. And if your wondering about the food? Amazing! All our guests enjoyed and were in awe of the skyline views at night. Truly breathtaking. So do yourself a favor, make that appointment and definitely give the Hyatt a shot and see for yourself the city lights at night. You won't be disappointed!
To the Hyatt staff, thank you for making our wedding truly unforgettable and magical! -

Melissa Magin and her team did an exceptional job on the wedding day to make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible. Also, Melissa was guiding us along the way from day 1. She worked with us for over a year to ensure all our requests were taken care of, she made vendor recommendations, and helped us plan all the venue related details. She is AMAZING!!! Also, the venue in itself is BREATHTAKING. 50% of our guests were from out of town and were absolutely blown away by the view as we did our wedding ceremony on the terrace and cocktail/reception in the Manhattan ballroom/foyer. I would highly recommend this venue for weddings or any event for that matter. The staff takes good care of you and you get an amazing view. What else can you ask for? -

This place went above and beyond for our Wedding day. If you have better luck than us the views are absolutely stunning however our wedding was considerably different. We got married back in January during winter storm Jonas and the entire day seemed like it was ruined. However, we were fortunate enough to have Melissa as our wedding specialist. She was working so hard to coordinate backup plans for anything that could go wrong and neither my wife or myself were put under any additional stress. Thankfully all our vendors showed up but Melissa had a back up DJ at the hotel if our band could not make it and when weather conditions made travel to the church impossible she quickly set up a beautiful impromptu site for a ceremony. While i could go on about Melissa's hard work and professionalism i would be remiss to leave out the amazing staff that not only braved the storm but catered to our guest every need. The food was excellent including the complimentary cake from Carlos Bakery. To top it off the storm broke right before the end of the night and everyone got to enjoy the best views of NYC. We were so fortunate to have booked this incredible venue and i truly believe no other venue could have pulled off such an amazing night during such a disaster (and from what i heard many of them did not). -

When it came down to choosing a venue, I knew I wanted the NYC skyline as my backdrop. You do not get a better view than the Manhattan Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City. Throughout my whole reception, guests were coming up to me to tell me what an AMAZING view we had. I worked very closely with Melissa M. after booking the Hyatt 18 months prior to our wedding. She was with me every step of the way. She responded to every email and took into account every detail. When I wanted to add options to the Viennese dessert display, she made it happen. Daniel, our personal butler for the day, made me feel like everything was taken care of. He was very attentive, making sure I wasn't cold while we were taking outdoor pictures, letting the photographers know that we wanted to party during cocktail hour and that they needed to speed pictures up. He pushed what we wanted. I don't think my husband and I can thank him and Melissa enough for all their help. We were very well taken care of. On top of all that, the food was AMAZING. Whenever I've gone to weddings, I always fill up on the cocktail hour because the entree always ends up being subpar. However, many of my guests told me they wish they hadn't filled up on the great food at the cocktail because they were then too stuffed to eat the entrees. You definitely get what you pay for with this venue: excellent service, the best view of the NYC skyline on this side of the Hudson, and the best food I've ever had at a wedding (I just wish I got to eat more than I did, but you never do at your own wedding!) My husband and I will definitely continue to patron the Hyatt no matter where we travel because of the excellent care we received. I wish we could do it all over again! -

I just got married at the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City this past weekend and cannot be happier that one of the most important days of my life was there. Melissa M. started off as the event specialist that I worked with, but she VERY quickly became a good friend. She was able to guide me through every step of my cocktail dinner, wedding, reception and farewell brunch. She is such a gem! We worked together so closely on every single detail. As a bride I was so grateful to work with Melissa. She made me feel so confident and my mind was at ease. The day of my wedding I was smiling so much and was completely relaxed because Melissa had gone through every single detail with me and I had nothing at all to worry about. My entire family loved our events and loved working with Melissa. I could not be happier!!Hyatt Regency Jersey City's reply:
Thank you so much for your kind words Purnimaa! We are so happy that we were able to be a part of your special day! Thank you for taking the time to write this review we appreciate your business and wish you all the love and happiness in the years to follow. -

If you seek a venue with spectacular food, service, views and guest accommodations in the NY tri-state area, there is none better than the Hyatt Regency Jersey City! A cake from Carlos Bakery was a nice surprise and was included in the pricing. The views from many vantage points are spectacular and include the Empire State Building to the Freedom Tower, Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island. While my groom and I thought the food was great at the tasting, we received many rave reviews from several guests. We also received more than one comment about the reception being fabulous and or the best wedding they had been to --and these comments come from NYers who have been to many upscale weddings.
Melissa Magin was a pleasure to work with as were everyone we engaged with in preparing the event. I didn't find the value of having a butler until I realized I did not have contact lens solution. Daniel was a gem and saved the day- and I was able to connect with him at 4:30 am! We also received excellent referrals for a rehearsal dinner site and transportation to & from our Church service was arranged within 3 days of the event!
We had looked at venues in Manhattan in addition to NJ and I can honestly say everything about the day were many many times better than I had ever anticipated and I highly recommend consideration of the Hyatt Regency Jersey City.

The moment we walked into the Manhattan Ballroom at the Hyatt Regency, we fell in love with the space and knew that this is where we wanted to get married. When we looking at pricing of the Hyatt compared to other venues in the area, it was comparable and you get the Hyatt points to use for your Honeymoon!
After booking, we worked directly with Melissa M. to go through all the details of the wedding--food options, table linens, etc. Little did we know, that we would enjoy her company on more than just a professional level. Melissa was fun to be around and made planning the wedding a little less stressful with funny stories, anecdotes, and suggestions on what she thinks works best.
In addition to Melissa, we got Daniel, our butler for the wedding day! To say that Daniel was magical would not be doing him justice. On the day of the wedding alone, he managed to get copies of the bestman speech made, fixed the bride's dress after part of the bustle needed repair, had an array of food waiting for us at cocktail hour, and much much more that I could go on and on about. By the end of the night, both the bride and her mom were trying to figure out how we could bring him home with us!
In addition to the wonderful Melissa & Daniel, the beautiful space was decorated perfectly, the service was as you would expect-fantastic, and the food was beyond anything that we've had at other weddings and we've been to a lot (10 in the last year alone). One of our guests actually came up to us after the main course to tell us that the veal was the best he's ever had.
If we were to have another wedding, we would without a doubt go with the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City again. The views are amazing, the people were great to work with, and everything went off as planned. We could not have asked for a better day or team of people to work with. They really made this an experience of a lifetime! -

We had our wedding at the Hyatt in Jersey City back in October and it was perfect! We met with Melissa almost 1 year prior to our wedding date and booked within a week. We told her our budget and she told us out right what the minimum was for a Saturday night, no frills, no games, straight to the point. We appreciated her honesty and that she didn't try to take advantage of us. She was very willing to work with us to add more food, drinks and desserts to our package as well as to include the outdoor area for us to have our ceremony. We also received a complimentary bridal suite for the night of the wedding. The tasting was amazing! The food is absolutely to die for. The venue also throws in a cake from Carlo's Bakery. They give you a choice of approx. 25 different styles of cake looks to choose from and then let you choose from 8-10 different pre-made cake fillings at no extra charge. The views at the Hyatt were beautiful! The Manhattan room has panoramic windows that give you and your guests views of the Empire State Building, Freedom Tower and Statue of Liberty. The staff was amazing and efficient. Daniel, our personal butler for the day, catered to our every need and was always one step ahead of us! He kept us on schedule the entire day and made sure we were fed. The entire venue and staff was just wonderful to us and our day was perfect because of it. Thank you Hyatt Jersey City for all that you have done to make our wedding day amazing! -

Almost two months after our wedding, I'm still constantly hearing that it was the best wedding our guests have ever attended. The Hyatt is a breathtaking venue with top notch service. From the beginning our wedding planner Sandra worked with us to make sure the day was perfect and met all of our needs. She was fabulous and a real pleasure to work with. On the day of, the team executed our event perfectly and Daniel, the wedding better, was absolutely incredible. On top of the service, the food was simply phenomenal. I would highly recommended the Hyatt and Sandra for any wedding or event. -

With gay marriage just becoming legalized in New Jersey we were curious to see how we would be greeted. We met Melissa Magin and we immediately established a connection with her. She was warm, welcoming and patient throughout the entire process. We probably exchanged over 40 emails within a one week period before signing the contract. I am a firm believer in being comfortable with your main point of contact and from our first meeting I knew we would be in good hands with Melissa. What I admire most about Melissa is that she was accommodating and while she would make recommendations we never felt pressured. Melissa gave us her honest opinions throughout the process. We really felt that we collaborated with Melissa throughout the entire process. From selecting the menu, to feedback on decor options, Melissa was truly first class and stellar. Our wedding planning was stress free thanks in part to the role Melissa played. Besides the view a major advantage the Hyatt offers is that you deal with the same person throughout the entire process. Melissa was our first point of contact and was on hand the night of our event. At the Westin, we would have signed with the sales manager and then been handed off to someone else. Melissa took detailed notes and she remembered all the little details we spoke about from our very first meeting to our pre-meeting the day before our event (things even we forgot about). The Hyatt also assigns you a butler the day of your event. We were assigned Daniel. It's funny when I told our contact at the Westin we chose the Hyatt she said make sure you get Daniel! Daniel did not disappoint. He kept us on track and always made sure we had food and drink. He also helped tie a bow tie and ironed a shirt. Daniel also suggested that we keep the shades down when our guests arrived to the Manhattan Ballroom and that we raise them during our first dance for effect and our guests loved it! Daniel and Melissa are a great team. -

We had our wedding here last Saturday and it was absolutely amazing. First of all, the staff are amazing. I worked primarily with Melissa and Jeleinnie during the planning process and both are just so incredibly responsive and helpful and flexible. I cannot say enough good things about them! They are total professionals and are so easy and fun to work with. I also have to say that Melissa was wonderful in dealing with us because we were not very specific in our vision or any of the details, which I can imagine was frustrating for her to deal with, but she made such great suggestions to help us have a beautiful and really perfect night and never made us feel bad about anything. On the contrary, she made us feel like we were the most amazing and fun people on earth!
Daniel, the wedding butler, is also just more than anyone could ever ask for. Right when I got to the hotel he came up to the bridal suite and made sure I had everything I needed, made sure my friends had what they needed and made us feel like VIPs. He kept my husband and I on track so that we could eat and relax and kept a drink in my hand the whole time, was incredibly kind and accommodating to my friends and just such a professional. He even ironed my husband's shirt on our wedding day! We couldn't have had such an amazing, smooth and fun time without him.
The staff at the reception were also amazing. All of our guests made comments about how fun and professional they were. Honestly, everyone from the front desk, housekeeping, restaurant and valet were just incredible. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect experience. Everyone kept commenting to us how excellent and perfect everything was at the Hyatt and how kind and customer friendly the entire staff was throughout the whole hotel. You don't always find that to be true, in fact, it's kind of rare these days so it really stood out and made us all feel so special! Oh yeah, and last but not least, the view is TO DIE FOR. -

We visited many venues and were searching for one that had the best balance between reception space and NYC views ... and then we finally visited the Hyatt and found it! Why be in the city looking at the buildings around you, when you can just cross the river and view the entire Financial District and west side?! The added bonus was that we were directly in sight of Battery Park / Stuyvesant HS where we first met!
We worked with Lori Palencia -- and she is the best you can work with. Daniel, the wedding "butler", will also be your best friend on the big day. Our bridal party and family all commented on how dedicated and "on top of things" he was throughout the ENTIRE day and night!
A few notes about the different spaces: the carpet in the Manhattan ballroom is an odd blue. Not very wedding appropriate, and my bride was concerned about it for months before and after contract. But honestly, with the dance floor and tables, no one will notice. But the chairs have to go. Rent your own!
We originally wanted to have our ceremony outdoors in the Riverview terrace (?). But after several visits, we decided to move it indoors due to the wind and the sound of cruising boats. The Hudson room was a safer choice!
We did not expect much with the catering, thinking that it was just going to be typical hotel food -- overcooked, dry, bland, etc. We addressed these concerns during the food tasting, but knew that this was to be expected with a party of over 200 guests. But WOW were we impressed! People were still raving about the food even weeks after the wedding! The servers were all professional and even did a little dance as they served the plates!
Every guest was impressed with the quality of the hotel, the food, and views of NYC. The location was very convenient despite Holland Tunnel traffic. We are so glad to have found this place and to work with Lori and Daniel, two great people who go beyond treating you as clients, but also treat you as friends. Highly recommended! -

If you are looking for professional, attentive service, excellent food and the best Manhattan view that you can get, you can't go wrong with choosing the Hyatt Regency in Jersey City. We knew about the stunning features of the Hyatt, as my husband organized a large corporate conference at this venue a few years ago and was still raving about the views. We also often go there for lunch or dinner as the restaurant is excellent. So, it didn't take us long to decide that we wanted to have our wedding reception held at this hotel. It was also very conveniently located for our guests from New York City and those coming from the New Jersey suburbs.
Sandra Draper, our wedding planner did a fantastic job! Although we had a fairly small event, she always took time to listen to my ideas and made all my wishes come true. Our decoration looked like right out of magazine. The organization was very professional and she and her assistant Jeleinnie took the time to walk me throught he process and answered all of my questions. The catering staff at the event was very courtous and attentive. And all of our guests loved the food and the views. On the day of the event, there were signs everywhere guiding the guests to the room. It was also very easy and hassle-free for our musicians and photographer, so everything went smoothly and stress-free vor us. The cake was provided by the "Cake Boss" and was as beautiful as delicious alike.
If you are looking for a very special venue providing an unforgettable event for you and your guests, then the Hyatt is your place to go. -

A pricey venue but let me tell you it is so worth it! We had our ceremony and reception here. The view is priceless and the food was so delicious that almost everything was eaten at cocktail hour! Everyone had such a great time that they didn't want to leave- so we all had an "after party" at the hotel's bar on the main floor, which was a lot of fun! Lori, the wedding coordinator, is SO nice and Daniel (your day-of-butler) was amazing! I didn't think I would need a butler the day of my wedding, but now I know I don't know what I would have done without him! The Hyatt gives you a free bridal suite the night of your wedding and free nights at any hyatt (which we used towards our hawaiian honeymoon!) It was great not having to worry about bringing things back to our room at the end of the night because the Hyatt took care of it ALL for us (everything from our aisle runner to the top tier of our wedding cake). It was an extra nice touch coming back to our room with chocolate covered strawberries and champagne waiting for us. If you want more of a contemporary wedding, with an amazing view of the NYC skyline and impeccable service- then this venue is for you! -

We had our wedding reception at the Hyatt in Jersey City and couldn't have been happier with our choice. It was held in the Manhattan Ballroom which had spectacular views of the skyline and despite it looking like a boring old conference room by day, by night with the candles and the tables set, it looked great. The staff was amazinginly helpful and made the day a breeze for us. Everything happened without us having to lift a finger. Our assigned wedding coordinator was very professional and detail oriented and easy to work with. We also loved the suite that we got for the night of the wedding - it was huge and gorgeous and very comfortable for me and the bridesmaids to dress in the day of the wedding. Overall, we loved having our wedding at the Hyatt. It was expensive, but they were open to negotiating with me (I did have a November wedding, which could make a difference) and it certainly wasn't the most expensive we saw in the area. Finally, and one of the most important things, is that the food really tasted good. The cocktail hour and the plated dinner were both great; it was definitely some of the best wedding food I've ever had; my husband and I eat out a lot so it was very important to us to have tasty food and the Hyatt definitely met our expectations. I'd recommend it as a venue to anyone! -

This place is TOP NOTCH! PERIOD!
Everyone who attended our Wedding loved the Venue, the service and the food. The service was SOO good the guests were tipping the waiters/waitresses. I can't wait to attend another event here. I'm pushing my brother to have his wedding here so I can experience it from the other side.
We worked with Kristine Henry Blake and she was EXCELLENT. Hyatt = TOP NOTCH SERVICE. So worth it!
They know their stuff and they help you out every step of the way. So organized and so knowledge. What more can you ask for? Seriously...one stop shop for quality all the way!
Ceremony, Cocktail Hour & Reception all in one shot!
Daniel was our Butler for the event and he totally helped calm me down. I was in panic mode when it started snowing before our New Year's Eve Wedding & we had some vendors come in late. Daniel was a ROCK STAR and helped me get through it.
Honestly, our guests were coming up to us and saying this was the BEST venue that that they have ever been too. Plus it's fairly new (built 2002). You get the NYC Skyline without having to actually be in NYC.
Only CON is that you have to deal w/ Holland Tunnel Traffic and paying for valet parking there is quite costly......but the place is STELLAR.
You will be pleased!

I dont know what I can say about the Hyatt, except that they were excellent. Everything, and I mean EVERYTHING, we asked for was there. Krystine the catering manager was super attentive, she was there from the very beginning and had everything we asked for and then some! Daniel our personal butler for the night was some how always right next to us when we needed a drink refill, but never in our way. All of our guests said that they have never had such personal service at a wedding before. The food was delicious. Everyone I have spoken to said that the food was the best they have ever eaten and I totally agree, it really was amazing. The filet was so tender you could cut it with a fork! I dont know what else I could possibly say to give the Hyatt any better ratings, but I will tell you that it was the most amazing night of my entire life! -

I had a gorgeous fun-filled reception at the Hyatt Jersey city for a party of 170. I worked with Kristine as the Director of Catering and she was a complete gem! She'll work with you to discuss your vision and is so incredibly patient as you change your mind 50x before deciding on the menu, floorplan, etc. Kristine's been there for years and has a wealth of experience. She's seen it all and is prepared for anything. If there is some ludicrous idea you are entertaining, she will never say no, she'll just work with you until you come to your own realization that what you are thinking is just plain too expensive/too much trouble/too stressful and then eventually you'll let it go :) She was also open to letting me add a few personal touches to the event, which really impressed me. On the day of the event, you'll also get a wedding butler. I got Daniel who is a pro and keeps the night moving like clockwork and he makes sure you eat and drink.
I arrived the night before and was lucky enough to book the bridal suite that night. The suite is HUGE, sports two very fancy bathrooms, and is equipped with a welcome bridal basket for the bride with toiletries and necessities for the day. There is also a skinny mirror for the bride in the room (smart!). I would highly recommend that any bride splurge to get the room the night leading up to the event so that hair & makeup as well as family all have a place to meet up. Do yourself a favor too and get room service for breakfast the next day.
We had the cocktail hour outside at the beautiful Riverview Terrace where we had 3 stations (chinatown, sushi and slider stations) as well as 8 passed hors -d'oeuvres. I am a complete foodie and thought I would need even more stations and more food, but it turned out to be plenty. All the food was very good - in particular, the lobster mac and cheese (well, not like I had any running around being the bride, but I heard from multiple people that it was impressive, served in its own little ramekin with chunks of lobster), the sushi was fresh and authentic from Komegashi's - the rice was nice and plush, not like refrigerated prepared sushi and I was even able to get spicy tuna for my guests which is my fav. I was even able to bring in my mom's spicy homemade dumpling sauce and ordered custom chocolate dipped his and hers fortune cookies to add as nice touches to the chinatown station. The fortune read, "Confucious says...You will not go home hungry" :)
We had the dinner in the Manhattan Ballroom on the 9th floor. The view of Manhattan was stunning - floor to ceiling and all the way around the perimeter. We lucked out with a perfectly clear day. The Hyatt also worked really well with my vendors. Throughout the planning process, my florist and DJ (who I used to create a beading structure and for lighting) visited the site to look over the specs and talk through logistics of when to get everything moved in and out. I really wanted a lux feel so I splurged for chiavari chairs in gold, gold candle stems, gold beaded plates and table linens in a champagne shantung with Party Rental Ltd. The look went amazing with the huge high cherry blossom center pieces and rich flower bomb low center pieces I chose (with nyc florist Designs by Ahn). My florist actually helped me pick out the color scheme and the tablescape. She has impeccable taste!
About 3 months prior to the event, you will be invited to go for your tasting in the Vu restaurant. It will be one of the highlights of the overall experience! We brought another couple with us and had so much fun! The service throughout the tasting is superb and the food will blow you away. You won't even know what to choose, everything is so tasty and beautiful. Each person is presented a tasting portion, then you get to see each sample entree, appetizer, and salad displayed properly by itself to see what a full serving looks like plated, and finally, you get to take it all home at the end of the night to have the next day. Seriously, there is a sick amount of food and wine too. Sick.
I worked with Kristine to edit the menu selections until it was exactly to my liking. I could request no cilantro, to add a crisp, and even to completely transform one of the seafood appetizers into one of the entrees instead! The kitchen was incredibly open to hearing my ideas but then also exercising expertise and recommending something that would match my preferences. I ended up choosing the refreshing jumbo lump crab ceviche to start(west coast quality!), the spinach salad (dressing is so yum!), and for entrees the brined pork with fennel slaw and posole (huge), the beef tenderloin (absolutely tender and delicious) and created a jumbo buttermilk poached scallop entree with cauliflower puree and brussel sprouts (i think it was the second most popular entree selected by our guests!). The husband and I went back to our room a the end of the night and devoured our scallop dish - still yummy even cold. While the dinner portions were plentiful, they were not as robust as those presented to us during the tasting. I felt like they were about 15-20% smaller than what I remembered. Just something I noticed.
For dessert, there were these scrumptious petit fours which is nothing like the old fashioned petit four you might be thinking. They are more like one bite desserts, some may resemble a chocolate flourless cake, some a macaroon, some a cheesecake, etc. Finally, the Carlos Bakery (otherwise known as Cake Boss) Wedding cake that comes with the Hyatt package is to die for! I paid a little extra for sugar handcrafted flowers that matched my motif and for another layer, but it was gorgeous and exceeded my expectations. I wasn't even all that impressed with the cake at the tasting, but the actual cake during the day was AMAZING and rich and moist. They will save the top tier for you for your anniversary, of course!
After the reception, the ballroom was cleaned in a flash and in about an instant, everything is packed up (a tip for brides - write down EVERYTHING you want saved, down to something as small as your placecard, otherwise it will be tossed!). Your vendors will be going back for cleanup and you should definitely just pay them to not have to clean up yourself! The Vu bar stayed open til around 2am. A bunch of us were up in the bar area until 3am, so we ordered pizza in the area and got it delivered. It was fun and yum.
The next day, we hosted breakfast in the Vu Restaurant for all the out of towners that stayed in the hotel (we got a room block for $199 which for some, was still rather pricey, but still much less than the retail rate for that weekend). The service was outstanding and the price per person reasonable. They event included the omlette station and I still fondly recall the gourmet trumpet mushrooms in my omelette! A great way to extend the event and make it last longer.
And the cherry on top? I qualified for some promo hyatt gold passport points for booking by end of 2011. And, I paid with the Chase Hyatt Visa (3 gold passport points for every dollar paid). And I got planner points for doing a room block. Overall, I got more than 200,000 points which all went towards FREE nights at 5 and 6 star Hyatt hotels in Hawaii for an amazing two week honeymoon with the works. I love Hyatt! -

It was a perfect venue for our setting - we really wanted that Manhattan backdrop, especially that we had a lot of friends flying over from all over the world. Also, the management at the Hyatt was exceptional. They were very flexible with our needs and very accomodating. All of our guests told us that they haven't been to a wedding with such great food in a long time. We were very very happy! -

Melissa & the Jersey City Hyatt team were incredible in helping plan our wedding. We hosted three wedding events at the Hyatt and everything was set up flawlessly. We worked with Melissa Magin the year leading up to our wedding and she was just wonderful - she was incredibly responsive to emails and often stayed late to meet with us after work. She consistently answered our questions right away and let us know what we needed to do each step of the way. Since our wedding was a destination wedding for my husband's side of the family, Melissa was even more so accommodating in showing the space at multiple points throughout our engagement so our family knew what to expect the day of. As hectic as planning a wedding is, Melissa and the team executed our vision beautifully. We didn't have to worry about a thing throughout the weekend. We highly recommend the Jersey City Hyatt! -

Our experience was amazing at the Hyatt Jersey City. The timeline was appropriate, well planned. Melissa and her team were exceptional. The staff was extremely courteous. On the week leading up to the event, the Hyatt was flexible, accommodating, and understanding. Everyone has raved at how amazing the food was. Then, they talk about the view! It certainly was a day for me and my wife to remember, but whenever we see one of our guests, they instantly say it is one of the best weddings and venues they have ever been to. -

We had our wedding at the Hyatt Regency a couple months ago, and it was AWESOME. We couldn't have asked for a more spectacular venue. Our guests are still raving about the wedding. Melissa was amazing and very co-operative. Daniel, our butler on the wedding day, was incredibly patient and helpful. Everything was flawless. I only wish we were given complimentary rooms for our parents as I have seen many other hotels do that. But no regrets at all. Thank you Hyatt for making our big day just unforgettable. -

My wife and I are extremely happy with Liza, our coordinator, Daniel, our day of butler, and the entire event staff at Hyatt. We had a beautiful ceremony followed by a phenomenal reception.
I would like to stress that we booked our event over a year and a half early with a completely different staff, Sandra and Jenaline, and they were terrible to work with. They wouldn’t respond to emails or phone calls and it felt like they simply didn’t care about us because we had already paid for our down payment. We found out 6 months before our wedding that they were both no longer with Hyatt and they had been replaced with Liza. We cannot say enough good things about Liza. She was patient, organized, energetic yet calming and had a detailed master plan in her head the entire time. She was extremely helpful the entire 6 months we had her as our coordinator.
The day of the wedding was hectic to say the least. Liza and Daniel worked hand in hand to make sure everything went smoothly. The ceremony was on the pier so our arch kept falling over. At one point, I saw Liza setting up our arch by herself even though someone else was supposed to be setting it up. She simply went above and beyond her job duties and requirements. Daniel also kept an eye on both me and my wife the entire day. He carried her shoes and water during our photo shoot, delivered our lunch to us, refilled our drinks every time we came close to the bottom and always kept us smiling with witty and funny comments and jokes all day long.
The food selection was also phenomenal.
Between the Liza and Daniel, they kept us sane and happy when dealing with all the issues that came up. Our pictures were beautiful, the guests were pleased and the location can’t be beat. Our wedding was an absolute accomplishment because of the Liza, Daniel and the staff at Hyatt Regency, Jersey City. We would most definitely recommend the Hyatt to any of our friends because of the views and the phenomenal staff.

My husband and I knew this was the place for us! The Hyatt in Jersey City by far has the BEST view of Manhattan! The banquet room is one of the best and it has an awesome terrace too! To top it off, with Hyatt's high quality food choices, our food was AMAZING. Our guests are still talking about it! Despite the rain and some fog, our wedding day was perfection. The entire staff was the BEST around - everyone loved how accommodating everyone was.
Our main contact was Beverly Leibowitz who was EXCELLENT! Super nice and always put us at ease. Originally when we wanted to look at the Hyatt I spoke with a Sandra - who was not very nice to me and assured me there was no one else to work with, but after making a call without her answering, I was introduced to Beverly, who was a gem. This place was too perfect for us to be discouraged bc of one person and Beverly helped us with EVERYTHING and her assistant Chris just as AMAZING, we can't thank them enough! Let's not forget Daniel, our "butler" for the entire wedding day! He was TOP NOTCH! Sooooo nice, super helpful, made us feel like a king and queen! First meeting him we felt like he was more of a friend then someone working for us. He's awesome!
I could go on and on about the people who helped us. Really - they were outstanding!!!
One issue we ran into was reservations for our hotel rooms, that's the reason for it not being 5 out of 5, but the actual rooms were great! -

An awesome vendor. You really want to have your wedding here! The best view of NYC--- why pay for being in the city, when you can have a magnificent view from the Hyatt. I love that they allow outside catering. We did some of their food & some Indian food because we had a mixed wedding. They provide excellent cake with wedding packages from Carlos bakery (so tasty), I suggest you taste the rest of their food--- some good, some not so good--- the best risotto though. They are very flexible and will try to make your wedding exactly as you want it. I can't say enough about the beautiful venue, the professionalism of all, and that we basically had a perfect wedding. It is an excellent value for the price--- just do it, you won't regret it. We got so many compliments and everyone had an excellent time. Also you can do your wedding on an outdoor terrace with the best view of Manhattan. Butler is also superb. -

Perfect venue for our New Year's Eve wedding with gorgeous NYC views. Food was amazing, service was seamless and professional. The wedding coordinators worked well with our outside wedding planner and all our vendors. I had nothing to worry about on the day of our wedding!
The only thing that could have been better/improved was communication/responsiveness. Our main point of contact changed about 6 months before our wedding because our original person left the job. We learned of this through an auto-reply email, which was not ideal, but this was only a minor inconvenience. Our wedding was everything we could have ever dreamed of and more. Highly recommend the Hyatt Regency Jersey City.-

I cannot say enough good things about my experience having my wedding at the Hyatt Regency Jersey City! From minute one, Melissa and her team made a fantastic impression on me. Planning was seamless and they were more than accommodating to last minute changes/questions. The wedding itself was absolutely perfect. No detail was missed and transitioning from the ceremony on the public pier to our cocktail on the terrace then up to our reception in the Manhattan ballroom was remarkably easy and well organized. These guys are pros that you can trust. In addition to Melissa, Daniel was outstanding at keeping us organized and, most importantly, relaxed! We continue to hear from people that our wedding was one of the best they have ever been to -- a big accomplishment among our group of family and friends. From the service to the absolutely delicious food (and Cake Boss cake!) to those fantastic views -- I cannot recommend the Hyatt more!!! -

My husband and I had our reception at the Hyatt this past July and were extremely happy with how everything turned out. In the months leading up to the wedding we worked with Melissa, who was very helpful, responsive to emails and open to ideas and personal touches that I wanted to include. She really went above and beyond to try and accommodate our wants, and was passionate and excited about the little extras that I was excited about incorporating into our wedding. On the wedding day, Daniel was our go-to man. He was absolutely wonderful and made sure everything went smoothly. He even spotted 2 wedding crashers from across the room and made sure they were escorted. The staff was great and location was beyond perfect! We were up in the Manhattan Ballroom and the views of downtown were to die for! Everyone raved about how beautiful it was. The food was also delicious! I still have guests telling me they've never been to a wedding where all of the food was that good! -

We held our sangeet and wedding and reception at the Hyatt and had an amazing exprience. Melissa was the best to work with, she made everything so simpl throughout the whole process and made it a stress-free experiences. The day of our events everything went so smoothly from our check in process, to room assignments, to all our vendors being set up to all the events. We had nothing bad at all to say about our experience at Hyatt and would recommend booking their wedding to Hyatt to anyone. Daniel was great to have by my side the whole wedding day and he kept me stress free and entertained, I cannot say how much the staff at the hyatt made our wedding a memorable experience! -

On the day everything was beautiful. Our "butler" Daniel was the most helpful person! He was one step ahead and had it not been for him I don't think our day would have ran as smoothly. All the staff are very friendly and very accommodating. I would reccomend that you send a follow up email with everything you have discussed in each meeting because in my case a lot of thing were forgotten here and there and I needed to remind the staff on every meeting before the wedding something we had discussed the last time which they had not recorded. However the girls were very good at fixing any mistakes they had made very quickly and were flexible and easy to deal with. The accommodation part of the process wasn't handled well. The girl I was dealing with was let go I was told but I was sent emails with conflicting information and then in the end was given a few days notice to book any rooms I was going to need. Atlot of pressure was put on me to book rooms and I didn't like how the staff handled that but I don't think that was anything to do with the events team. At the end of the process when I was paying the final amount it was never explained to me a four thousand dollar retainer would be taken from my card so that was a little bit annoying. Someone had mentioned they had sent a bill but it wasn't anyone I was dealing with so it was unexpected.
All in all it was worth it, the sun was shinning the wind wasn't too bad and the food was delicious! Thanks to Daniel and Mellisa -

Had a great experience as we hosted our wedding a the Hyatt. Melissa was great to work with. Would highly recommend working with her if you can. Very accommodating, experienced and she knows what she is doing. I don't think our event would have been as flawless as it was without her oversight of every small detail. She is the face of the Hyatt, without her there, I would not have been comfortable. One thing I did not like was as the bride and groom, hosting an event for the weekend at the hotel, I forgot my room key after our sangeet, they would not let both of us upstairs until a thorough, extensive and unnecessary security check was done at 12am, which took 30-40 minutes. Everything else went really well and we were very happy. -

Hyatt on the Hudson hands down is an amazing place to hold your wedding reception. Particularly the Manhattan Ballroom on the 9th floor. Floor to ceiling windows with breath taking views of Downtown Manhattan that wrap around the entire space will have your guest experience a wedding of a lifetime. Our cocktail hour and dinner menu was absolutely amazing! Every bite was savory, melt in your mouth delicious. The food and cocktail service were very professional and treated our guest like royalty. Our beautiful wedding cake was provided by Carlos Bakery which was included in our package with the Hyatt...amazing. Sandra Draper was our Catering Director. A very busy woman yet will deliver in time for the big day. Sandra and her team were professional and detailed oriented. Sandra made sure everything ran smoothly and efficiently for the day of the wedding. For the preparations before the ceremony Sandra and her team set up a beautiful room with several stations for hair and makeup. Mimosas and continental breakfast was served for myself and my bridal party which was a plus! Daniel our butler was Amazing! He made sure that everything was perfect and was there for anything you needed at anytime. Even for the day after our wedding he was still there to make sure everything was good til we checked out of the hotel. Overall we and all of our guest had a fantastic time that definitely will be unforgettable and an experience of a lifetime. -

The ahyatt and it’s staff were amazing! Our wedding day could not have turned out better. The one thing that bothered me was that they wanted to charge $600 for us to use a microphone for our outdoor ceremony. I just felt that should have been included for everything we were paying for. -

I could not have picked a better place for my wedding reception. They were outstanding on every level -- responsive, high-quality, accommodating, and professional. Of course, they were not the cheapest place I could have used, but that was not my goal. Again, I feel that with everything, you get what you pay for, and it was worth every cent. We had our reception only there and the Hyatt JC delivered everything that we requested. Only afterward did I find out that the planner would meet with my husband and I, present us with options, and then follow up with my father to explain that we chose the "more expensive" option and it would cost more money. This "nickle and diming" was unacceptable and in poor taste as we were already spending upwards of $100K at the venue.
The food was excellent, the servers were SUPERB - all 150 of our guests felt personally attended to. Even the servers passing appetizers remembered which clusters of guests preferred what and would be sure to circle back around with another tray of their favorites.
The Hyatt chefs were wonderful and very flexible with the menu - I was fairly sure of what pairings I liked and I got to play with preparations/sauces/etc.
The room and backdrop of the NYC skyline is dramatic and romantic - the perfect setting for an upscale reception. The rooms for guests were also perfectly planned and executed - as was the breakfast the morning after. We had flowers delivered to my parents' suite and they were amazing as well.
My husband and I flew out early the next morning, and our wedding planner assured us that she would have breafkast delivered to us and arrange our transportation. Breakfast never came, and the driver was dangerous and rude. When we arrived at the airport she demanded that we pay her $40 - we said that the hotel had taken care of it. She got angry and drove away - not sure whether this was the hotel's error or the cabbie.
In all, and incredible experience for us and our guests. Just be sure to get ALL of the details and pricing ironed out explicitly. -

The Hyatt is the place to go to completely wow your guests with a breathtaking view and stellar service that cannot be found at many other wedding venues in NJ. Quality over quantity is what we were looking for and that's exactly what we got - from an upscale cocktail hour on the water with food and drinks that wowed our guests, not to mention a great view on a great night, to top notch service, the Hyatt truly delivered. Daniel, the personal bridal butler, was the absolute best! He gave us all of our direction, without ever once being intrusive. After picking out our great-tasting menu, he was sure we got a chance to eat it, even if it meant putting samples in the bridal suite for us. You will, however, pay for all the Hyatt has to offer. To us, it was well worth the spend. We also thought they were short staffed as we were planning the wedding, as some of our questions often took awhile to be answered, as we felt as though they didn't have enough people helping brides and grooms plan on the front end. When it all came down to it, everything turned out perfectly and we had a truly fairytale wedding! -

Melissa and the team at the Hyatt worked tirelessly with both my husband and I as well as our entire family to ensure our wedding day went smoothly. While various obstacles occurred throughout the process both in and out of the control of the Hyatt staff, Melissa made sure that our wedding day was as perfect and as memorable as we'd hoped for from the very moment we booked the venue. You are in good hands here! -

Make sure you are okay with other weddings happening the same weekend, as the hotel can fill up quickly and you will not be able to rehearse and see the spaces until the day of. You get a great view, so that really takes the cake. -

The reason we chose this venue were a) location, location, location (right on the Hudson, with beautiful views of the Manhattan skyline, and beautiful event spaces), b) they use the caterer we wanted for our reception food, and c) we were able to get a good price b/c our wedding was in the "off-season".
It took quite a lot of time and effort to get the Hyatt wedding coordinators to answer our questions (from negotiating the contract to the final details in the days before the wedding). We had to do a lot of follow-up to ensure that things happened the way the Hyatt agreed they would happen (for example, that our guests got the room rate they were supposed to (which they didn't until we followed up on that). We were supposed to have a final walk-thru of the ceremony/reception area the week before the wedding, but that never happened. As a result, the layout of our reception room was not at all what we expected -- and we didn't know this until we actually walked into our reception...by which point it was obviously too late to do anything about it.
Despite all of the above, there were aspects of the wedding day where the Hyatt folks did a spectacular job: they provide a personal butler, Daniel, for the bride and groom who's great; Monica, the wedding coordinator, was a very calming presence the week of the wedding; and overall, the ceremony and reception went well. Despite the headaches, we would choose the Hyatt again. -

We had our wedding in the Manhattan Ballroom in June. During the course of our planning we unfortunately had to deal with multiple event managers for our wedding because the original manager left. Its no big deal but it was annoying to keep repeating the same details over and over again (my recommendation, request them to send you a meeting notes so its on record). Besides that our event managers were worked very well with us.
Food is EXCELLENT. Drinks are fantastic! Choices plenty. We got dressed at the venue so our getting ready pictures came out simply gorgeous <3
The day of our wedding it rained and the only reason we picked manhattan ballroom was for its stunning views. The cocktail hour got moved (as per the contingency plan) to the foyer of manhattan ballroom which is kinda small for 200+ guests. For all the revenue this place brings in I was shocked they don't install awnings or glass windows covering the terrace area of the ballroom or riverside terrace so the guests can still step out and spread out to enjoy the view. That kinda really cramped our day. So that was the one and only major complaint we had about this venue.
Besides that we loved this venue and the people. Would recommend it to people... just may be not the months of May-July. -

BEAUTIFUL venue. Absolutely perfect for the backdrop of NYC, the Hudson - you cannot go wrong. Their recommended vendors are the best of the best and they are experts. We would go back in a heart beat but there are some things to be aware of.
Getting in touch with your planners is nearly impossible. I cannot count the number of times me, my wife, or our family emailed, called, and desperately tried to get answers for planning with no response for weeks. One of our planners did get sick, however, her backup, while helpful, was very limited in assistance. For planning a big wedding, it is mindblowing to me how this can happen. Thankfully, in the 2 weeks prior the planners stepped up and were there at our beck and call, but good grief - it wasn't worth the stress and frustration of the prior 8 months!
You will NOT regret the Hyatt - the 2 weeks prior they really did step up and we had a perfect wedding weekend with everything in place. But, if you do decide on them - MAKE SURE you know the issues with getting in touch with them and I would address it in the contract for a turnaround time to getting back with you. You will spend a LOT of money and you will get a lot in return, but for peace of mind - they need to significantly up their staff and address that issue.
The day of though ... perfection. Absolute perfection. -

The hotel itself is lovely. The staff on the other hand was my issue. I set an appointment with Adam to see the hotel and should have ran the other way when I was told he wasn't working that day. I really loved the location of the hotel so I booked it anyway. I never received the bi-weekly emails I was promised and more than a few guests never received a confirmation and therefore - never reserved a room.
The day of the wedding they made my husband wait in the lobby for two hours to check in because the room wasn't ready. I get it, but that is an unreasonable amount of time.
We arrived to the hotel after the wedding around 1 am and the bar staff let us stay in the lounge until after 4. They were very nice and accommodating.
We booked the morning after brunch with Liza who was great. She called me back immediately after I left any messages and the brunch was booked in less than a day. We had a nice, semi-private spot in the restaurant for our guests and the food was delicious.
It is a beautiful hotel and I would recommend staying there. I wouldn't recommend blocking your wedding here - there isn't much of a deal or discount given and it was too much of a hassle dealing with the Sales team. -

Please read this whole review. The Hyatt Regency will be an amazing and beautiful location for your wedding. The views are absolutely amazing, the ballrooms are so elegant and the hotel will impress your guests 100%. It's 2 steps from the PATH station and half-an-hour from Manhattan. All-in-all, the views and location are absolutely perfect and your guests will love the hotel. However, if you plan on having your wedding or any event here - just know that will come with a few headaches. The catering/event planning staff is sloppy, unprofessional and horribly unflexible. Despite spending close to 6 digits with the hotel, they were not accommodating and not professional with us at all. In the months leading up to our event, they messed up the booking of the rooms, by overcharging and giving us the wrong room package. The event planning team almost always took more than a week to respond, they were impossible to reach via phone. It was a great weekend in the end, but the months spent planning had us regretting going with the Hyatt.Hyatt Regency Jersey City's reply:
Thank you for all the wonderful compliments about our hotel and for informing us of your experience with planning your engagement party. We care for people so they can be their best and have the best event. Truly we will take this information and use it to make steps to provide a better planning experience for our future couples. We appreciate you taking the time to write down a review for us and if you would like to talk more about your experience let us know and we will give you a call at a time that is convenient for your schedule. -

They have no idea what to do when it rains
As a wedding photographer, I have never seen a more unorganized team. It was as if they had never worked a wedding. My bride said that throughout her process, her person of contact switched a few times. On the wedding day, they were disorganized and had no idea what they were doing or where their banquet manager was. They didnt have access to the reception room when we needed it (after being given a 1/2 hour notice before we wanted to access it), which made us behind on our timeline. The floor the bride was getting ready on smelled VERY strongly of a horrible stench - some said they thought it smelled like mold. When we were ready to go outside for the ceremony, it had begun raining. They said it would take 20 minutes to get an indoor space ready for the ceremony (there was rain in the forecast the day before so this should have been ready as a backup), and it took over an hour. They did not communicate with the bride and groom while getting the indoor space ready, so the bride and groom, bridal party and family had no idea what was going on. The venue coordinators were extremely disorganized, as well as nowhere to be found - they said they were trying to find the manager to get clearance on things. I along with family members were personally setting up chairs for the ceremony. About 1/3 of their guests had to stand the entire ceremony because the conference room they moved the ceremony to wasnt big enough. The bride and groom barely had enough room to walk down the aisle. When the ceremony finally started, the venue coordinators stood in the doorway so they are in every picture as the bridal party/family and bride and groom walk in. During the reception for this Jewish wedding, the coordinators asked if they should take the Challah bread into the back - I told them not to touch it because the family would cut it. Again they had no idea how to run a wedding. I had to ask to have me and my team fed 3x, finally went into the kitchen. To top it off they told the bride and groom they still had to end the wedding at the original end time.
Throughout the wedding day, you are going all over many floors of the hotel.
If you get married here, I highly recommend having a planner or at the very least a day of coordinator, because the staff/wedding venue coordinators at the Regency Hotel have no idea how to run a wedding. I have never seen a bride and groom go through what these people put them through. -

The only reason I booked this hotel for my wedding block was bc of the close proximity to my wedding venue and the amazing view it has. From when I booked, which was about a year prior to my wedding, I worked with 5 different sales managers bc one after another they kept leaving. It was frustrating & sometimes wouldn’t get emails answered for weeks. The hotel rooms are nice/clean. The front desk, bellman, & parking attendants were great. I also was happy that when all my room blocks were full, the lady that I was working with at the time was able to add more rooms. As far as my guests getting their gift bag before the wedding, that didn't happen, which was upsetting considering I had a timeline of shuttle times and other timed events. The bags were in guest’s rooms after the wedding. Day parking costs $25.00 & overnight $38.00, when I originally booked overnight was $32.00. When asked about comping the $38.00 bc we booked about 40 rooms/suite, they wouldn’t & I was told that for some wedding blocks they do comp guests parking fees. I couldn’t even get $25.00 comped for my hair/makeup people, who said she gets comped every time she does a wedding there. Between my guests and the bridal suite we booked, they made over 10,000 and couldn’t even comp $25.00 for my vendor? Ridiculous! Bridal suite was really nice. The room is stocked with 2 waters (water in reg. room is $3.00/bottle), bridal kit, & steamer. My room wasn’t ready by 4, but they ended up giving me a voucher for 4 free drinks at the Vu Lounge. My guests were actually able to check in before 4, which was great! We went to Vu Lounge for some drinks & they were amazing! Unfortunately after the wedding they were closed at 12:45am & website says they are open until 2am! There are not many reviews for this hotel as far as wedding room blocks, so I’m hoping this review will help another bride! Use somewhere else for less stress! -

I really hate to have to write this review, but I hope no other bride goes through what I went through. I got married in August which I know is peak of wedding season. My event was not held at the Hyatt. My family had traveled from Pennsylvania for the wedding and requested an early check in. We totally understood that it is not guaranteed, and my parents and family had arrived at 1:30 pm and check in is 4 pm. When they arrived to the hotel, they were told that the 3 rooms were being cleaned and would be ready in an hour. They went out to lunch and came back an hour or two later, and only 2 of 3 rooms were ready and their bags were not brought to the rooms. Here comes 4:15 pm and I arrive at the hotel to see my dad arguing with the front desk as the 3rd room was not ready and the originally double room was not going to be available. But they had a "complimentary cot" available. Their excuse to me is they had four weddings that weekend. Well thank you, Hyatt, for making me as a bride for one of those weddings make me feel so special that we were simply a number. Two minutes later after much argument, the original room was suddenly ready and cleaned.... and then they lost the tuxes because the valet did not put tags on them. They were eventually found. I do NOT recommend this hotel to any bride. You pay way too much for such poor service. -

A couple's worst nightmare, stay away!!!!
For our fall wedding we had so many issues starting from a lack of response from the people in charge (Andrea and Milarose This entire experience has been so bad, we emailed several times to coordinate with our photographer and didn't hear back. My partner and I called multiple times and was not able to reach anyone. The day of the wedding was just as bad and chaotic even though we had an event planner. Our planner tried her hardest but this place is a nightmare to work with. Our caterer and florist both who have worked with the Hyatt in the past were baffled at how poorly the new management was handling weddings. I would not recommend this place at all, take your money and go elsewhere. Someone asked me who or what the most stressful part of wedding planning was and for me it was the Hyatt and their lack of responsibility, organization, and responsiveness. -
