We absolutely loved our wedding at Houston Hall. The space is amazing and really needed very little to dress it up because it's so cool already! We booked in 2019 and have worked with a few different coordinators over the years due to COVID delays, but Christon worked with us in the final lead up and on the big day and she was fantastic! She went out of her way to be flexible with us on dropping off/collecting decor, offered extra details like menu cards and signature cocktail signs, and she was responsive and easy to work with. Our friends and family absolutely loved the space and the food!

I can't highly recommend Houston Hall enough. Brenda the manager was super responsive and helpful in the planning process. Her and her team were incredibly helpful and professional. I had hundreds of emails back and forth her and she answered all my questions and took care of so much for us. The venue vibes are absolutely gorgeous doesn't need much decoration and the little decoration we Brought in Brenda and her team put up the decorations and place cards for us! And the food! their menu is absolutely to die for. I received numerous compliments about the cocktail hour food and dinner food!! Everyone was so obsessed with food. And when I wanted to bring in all my dessert spreads to the table Brenda was super accommodating to what were hoping to do. The only misunderstanding we had was about how many people would be able to sit during the ceremony. We had 90 people and the chairs were set to about 60 ish people which I think is the max amount they can fit to set up for a ceremony. But other than that small detail everything ran so smoothly. The waitstaff was amazing there our wine glasses were full and myself and my now husband were always asked if needed a drink or anything. We felt super special and taken care of. My family raved it was one of the best weddings they had ever been to. Highly recommend Houston Hall for your NY wedding!!

As parent of groom we had our greeting party here the night before the wedding for out of town guests and wedding party. It was a perfect spot. Jorie, the event planner, was helpful from the start and with us being out of town was wonderful to work with even long distance.
The space was large to accomodate our crowd, the food delicious , the bar amply stocked and atmosphere so much fun for all attending.
I would highly recommend the spot and Jorie to work with for anyone wanting a unique spot to through a large party or wedding.

Like so many of the couples who reviewed, we were looking for a space different from the typical banquet hall. We toured many different venues (including multiple breweries as we love craft beer) and I knew when we saw Houston Hall that it was the one. The setting is absolutely beautiful! Day of our guests couldn't stop commenting about how gorgeous the place was!

Amanda was great to work with. She was very responsive and we never felt out of touch with her. She made the whole process seamless. We just showed up and the place was gorgeous. Everything went smoothly.

The food was amazing. Our friend commented on the importance of an on site kitchen and how at most weddings, you see an appetizer once and then never again but at our wedding the appetizers kept coming around and were delicious. The sliders and the chicken empanadas especially were a big hit. My mom was very worried about the family style meal and that there wouldn't be enough food but it just kept coming. Everyone loved the family style meal! As a vegetarian (my partner is not), I felt like I had so many options and that I could eat as much of what I wanted. Highly recommend the brussel sprouts.

Definitely recommend Houston Hall for anyone looking for a beautiful place for their wedding!

Houston Hall was my absolute dream venue! It only took me a year to find and it was a place my husband had frequented throughout our relationship!! Amanda was incredible to work with from our walk through to our tasting, leading up to our actual wedding day. The food was incredible!! Our friends and family raved about the cocktail hour appetizers and couldn’t say enough great things about dinner! We went with a family style dinner and everyone loved how much food their was to choose from. Our guests danced the night away and raved about how it was the best wedding they’ve ever been to!

My now-husband and I knew we did not want a typical ballroom style wedding and also wanted it to be convenient for our friends and family who mostly live in the NYC area. We had been to Houston Hall on a few occasions and loved the raw space with exposed brick and lighting and all the charm this place has! So, it was a really easy decision when were looking for both a ceremony and reception venue. When we decided to book, Amanda, our events manager for the wedding, walked me through everything from start to finish, and was SO accommodating with absolutely everything. She answered my million questions so promptly and professionally throughout the entire planning process. On the day of, she made sure everything ran smoothly and was super organized with all of the many to dos of the day. The crew at HH (from the bathroom attendants, to the waiters, to the bartenders) were all amazing and my guests had the time of their lives that night. In fact, a month later, and so many of them are still talking about how it was the best wedding ever. Thanks so much to Amanda and her team for an unforgettable night and wedding of my dreams!

Amanda was one of the most helpful wedding vendors we worked with. We had a million questions, and she always responded so quickly and professionally, and was very flexible and accommodating to my demanding needs. I highly recommend Houston Hall, it was a beautiful venue with natural light (from the skylights), and you can really bring life to the space. The food was also INCREDIBLE. Everyone kept talking how much delicious food there was, and no one could stay away from the late night soft pretzel!

Hands down Houston Hall was the PERFECT place to have our wedding. Not only because of the impeccable service that was provided by Mandi our coordinator but everything was seamless! Mandi was extremely easy to get a hold of and answered ALL of my questions (there were a ton). The food was delicious and the booze kept flowing! Working with Mandi was a dream, we truly had the best experience from the walk-through to the actual wedding. We wouldn't change a thing and that is definitely in part to Mandi's organization and coordination. We would certainly recommend Houston Hall to people planning a wedding or any other party in the future! We are trying to think of things we can celebrate in the private space upstairs! Hahaha

If you are looking for a warm, intimate wedding venue, without being too conventional- Houston Hall is hands-down the right choice. We got married at HH on 1. 15. 17 and I would not change one thing. My husband and I are 34 & 39 & have been to plenty of weddings. While they are all beautiful in their own way, we knew we wanted something a little different. Houston Hall delivered on all fronts. The space transforms itself- the exposed brick wall, antique bar, stone entryway, massive arch window- you can't beat the artistic ambiance these elements create! Anyone who has seen wedding photos, immediately asks about the venue. We set up the wall of string lights as the backdrop for our ceremony & hung them over the dance-floor- I highly recommend this! Not all of our guests were able to sit for the ceremony, but the fact that our family & friends 'lined' part of the aisle actually added a unique element to the ceremony. It felt casual, yet really special. Lauren Gargano was our coordinator & I felt like she was a guest by the actual wedding day. She must have responded to 20 emails before we even booked the space. Trust her, let her do her thing, she will get every one of your needs met! She was incredibly honest with us & her opinion was spot-on! She checked in with us & my family multiple times throughout the night to make sure we were happy. We had 150 guests- plenty of room for a dance floor, with a 9 piece band. There were a good number of bartenders and servers- each staff member was super helpful and polite. The food was very important to us and all I'll say is my family keeps asking when we can go back for dinner! Cocktail hour: tuna sashimi tacos, beef sliders, pork sliders, fig & prosciutto flatbread, mini gruyere & sautéed onion grilled cheeses and buffalo wontons. Family Style Dinner menu: Steak, Cod, Fried Chicken (by far the crowd favorite), Mac-n-cheese (holy incredible) and melt in your mouth Mashed Potatoes. We couldn't be happier w our wedding.

We had our wedding here on 6/4/16 and it was beyond perfect. It was better than we ever expected or pictured. The place is GORGEOUS. Go for the string lights! (they made it so magical). Our coordinators, Lauren and Amanda, were incredibly professional, true experts, and cared so much about our happiness and making sure everything was how we wanted it. Lauren worked with us for months to make our vision come to life and to implement all of our ideas (from the small to the big). Amanda came in the last month to help with final details and was there the day of to make sure everything went perfectly. They made everything super easy; they both responded very quickly by email (and there were lots) and were so accommodating to our needs/questions/requests. We were even able to do a rehearsal the afternoon before. Day of, the girls all got ready in the upstairs suite and it worked perfectly for us. Our photos in the venue couldn't be more beautiful. Our guests have said it was the best wedding they'd ever been to. We had the ceremony and reception here. I was worried it would be awkward, especially the transition, and it was not an issue. We had 175 people and I'd say that was the max I'd want. Perfect to seat and still have enough room to dance (and everyone danced the whole time!) The food was AMAZING. During cocktail hour, so many guests commented on how much/frequent the food was. The main courses were also a huge hit. And Amanda took care of everything the day of, so we didn't have to stress. When our cake almost didn't arrive, she was ready to go out and buy a cake herself so that we'd have something to cut (which I didn't even know happened, because she and my sisters just took care of it, so the bride/groom didn't know/worry while we were doing photos). It was that level of service. I can't recommend this venue highly enough. If you are looking for a non-traditional, yet beautiful, interesting, and fun venue - this is it.

My husband and I got married at Houston Hall on 10/4/15 and give it four enthusiastic thumbs up! We worked with Nicole from day one, and she was great. My priorities were 1) budget, 2)food/bev, and not stressing myself out too much. HH was by far the most reasonably priced venue we looked at, especially considering the price included everything (space, F&B, furniture, some decor). It was also the most striking, which lessened my workload to make it a picture perfect backdrop for our ceremony and reception.

Nicole and her team set up the room SO beautifully. It was far beyond my expectations on creativity/aesthetics; this is not my strong suit, and not an area we prioritized in terms of budget. Staff used the decor that was already on site (crates, mason jars, candles, table runners) and I didn't have to worry about renting any special furniture/dishes/glassware like many venues. We also used the red room for child care and for the wedding party to hide in pre-ceremony.

Nicole made sure everything proceeded on time, and graciously helped our guests with dietary and mobility restrictions. We had about 115 guests, and I think every single one of them raved to me about the food and the overall experience. Bartenders and servers were 100% on point. I would very strongly recommend this for an out of the ordinary and very memorable wedding experience!

I can't speak more highly of Houston Hall, and its sister locations. I was fortunate enough to begin my process with them during a change-over and as a result, got to see how well they handled me as a client during their internal shift in management. I think I may have dealt with as many as three different individuals throughout the months long process, and while that isn't anyone's ideal- I have to say, all of them were enormously well-informed. Each contact person made it their business to keep me in the loop when they had to hand the reigns off to someone else, and each contact person made it their business to communicate to their successor the specifics of mine and my wife's requirements and expectations were. Nicole Risby ended up being our ultimate contact and hostess for our reception. Nicole was AMAZING.

First she invited my wife and I up to a sister location where she was managing, and treated us to an amazing meal while we went over our specifics. Nicole immediately put us at ease, and made it clear that her priorities were ours. We probably threw seven or eight unorthodox questions in her direction and she took them all in and said "not a problem" for all of them. They ranged from the predictable "will we be able to offer a kids menu for our friends children?" to the very specific "one of our special guests is gluten free, can she please be provided with a special dessert?" Again, Nicole's response was always "not a problem" and it never was.

Everyone had such a great time at our reception, which included a mix of live music and pre-made playlists. It was definitely an unorthodox reception, but through it all Nicole and the staff at Houston Hall were amazing. Can't recommend them more highly.

More than recommend!!! Best venue, made our entire wedding so fantastic! Super professional and easy to work with high attention to detail. Can not say enough. Super grateful to HH for all of the amazingness! Best day ever!

We had our wedding reception at Houston Hall and we could not have loved it more! They were so accommodating and helpful. They really went above and beyond to make sure we were happy and had all the things we wanted (including special ordering wine and beer!). All of the staff was extremely friendly, and the event coordinators were amazing and so responsive! They took my ideas and vision and helped transform the venue to look exactly the way I wanted.

Planned my wedding here because I just adore the space. Unfortunately, I can't give them 5 stars. Too many things went wrong and it was more stressful than necessary.

Here's what is great:
The space is beautiful.
The staff is cheery and helpful.
The food is astonishingly good.

Here's what went wrong:
I had one event planner who I'd been working with and she left before our wedding. I had to start over with someone else. Nothing had been communicated to this person. The new event planner was smart and made me feel at ease and was very flexible. But she had her own wedding the day of mine, so she wouldn't be there to carry out all the details we'd gone over. But I was promised that all the details would be gone over with the person who was working the event. I don't believe this was the case.

When we showed up the day before the wedding to drop off cupcakes, flower arrangements, etc, no one there had any idea that a wedding was happening. It was as if we walked in off the street. Trying to shout over the hundreds of drinking frat boys that populate the place on a Saturday night. Trying to explain in front of all your family members that have flown from far away to help you set up, 45 minutes of standing around waiting to get an answer.

They are flexible and will work with you to get you what you want. But I will say, you have to micro manage this. I drew a layout of the room exactly as I wanted it. But then the day of the wedding, I was busy. So I couldn't be there to see that every table and bench is where it should be. So there were just randomly placed pieces of furniture - tables/benches, etc right in the middle of the party.

I feel torn. I want to recommend this place because they get so much right and the people are so nice. But they also get a lot wrong. I would say, book them for your event if you can bring in someone to wrangle them and get the details right. They are responsive but you have to do a bit of hand holding.
