Our wedding here was absolutely perfect! We fell in love with the convenience of the downtown location close to the airport and right on the river. It truly is a venue that can’t be beat. Once we saw the reception space with the private veranda overlooking the river, we were completely sold.
Samm was one of the best parts of the entire planning process. She connected us with incredible vendors and kept everything running smoothly throughout the year and a half we worked together. During the wedding weekend, the rest of the hotel staff was just as amazing. Every family member and guest was thrilled with the service from Hotel Tampa Riverwalk as a whole.
We’ve heard nothing but rave reviews from our guests about every interaction they had from the food and drinks to the overall event experience. We could not recommend this venue (and Samm!) more highly!! -

We just had our wedding at the Hotel Tampa on June 15th, and we don't even know where to begin. Firstly, I need to preface by mentioning that we needed to switch our venue in under a month, as our previous venue still had not reopened after the hurricane. With a wedding of almost 200 guests, this was a very stressful and daunting task. Samm was by our side from start to finish, ensuring that this switch was seamless, and made sure everything was exactly as we had envisioned it.
Firstly, the customer service from Samm and the entire hotel staff was unmatched! From the chef, to the valet, to the front desk workers, us and our guests had nothing but positive things to say. Secondly, the space was BEAUTIFUL!! The ballroom was spacious and had large windows with a stunning water view. Our guests (and us) loved stepping out on the terrace to see the view of the city during our event. Samm was with us the day of our wedding and felt like another coordinator. She made sure all of our requests and details were exactly as we wanted them, and everything was even better than we could've ever imagined!! The hotel rooms were extremely spacious and comfortable and all of our guests enjoyed their stay. The food at the wedding and the restaurant was SO tasty and many guests (including us) ate at the restaurant multiple times even though we had plenty of other food options nearby! Oh, and the location is right in the heart of Downtown Tampa along the water, with the most stunning views.
Because of Samm and the Hotel Tampa, we were able to have our dream wedding and the best night of our lives!!! They made it a stress-free experience despite the crazy, last minute change. We absolutely cannot thank them enough and would recommend this hotel and venue to anyone! We look forward to staying with them again in the future. THANK YOU SAMM & HOTEL TAMPA!!! -

A Wedding Dream Come True at Hotel Tampa Riverwalk
Our wedding at Hotel Tampa Riverwalk in May 2025 was nothing short of magical. Choosing this venue was deeply personal for us—it sits along the riverwalk where we’ve shared some of our most cherished moments: our first date, our engagement, and many anniversary celebrations. It only felt right to begin our married life in the same place where our love story has unfolded.
From the very beginning, Samm and Heather exceeded every expectation. Their dedication, warmth, and attention to detail made the planning process feel not only seamless but truly joyful. Samm, especially, was a light throughout this journey. She understood my vision completely, and her calm, confident presence gave me peace of mind every step of the way. What started as a professional relationship quickly turned into a heartfelt connection—Samm became so much more than someone I was planning a wedding with; she became a friend.
The day itself was executed flawlessly. Every detail reflected care and intention, and we felt so supported and celebrated. One of the most touching gestures came at the end of the night: Samm had our cake top saved for us and left a sweet little nightcap treat in our bridal suite, complete with a thoughtful note. After a night of dancing like crazy, it was the perfect ending to a perfect day—so personal, so unexpected, and so appreciated.
There’s not a single thing I would change. If you’re considering Hotel Tampa Riverwalk for your wedding, I can’t recommend it enough. It’s not just a beautiful venue—it’s a place where people truly care about your story, your vision, and your joy.

There are not enough adjectives to describe how incredible our experience was with the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel for our September wedding! Everything - from setting a date, picking our menu, doing walkthroughs and the day of were flawless! Brooke Potter was an absolute blessing. Due to COVID and all of the changes that brought our way, Brooke was already 2 steps ahead of us with plans and alternatives, and was always very responsive to our needs, calls and emails. The hotel itself was able to accommodate all of our out-of-state guests and everybody had nothing but great things to say about their rooms. Our complimentary suite was perfect for the bridal party to get ready in the morning of the wedding and was cleaned up and reset for us to spend the night in after our wedding, too. Everyone on staff simply couldn't do enough and were constantly asking us (and our family and guests!) if there was anything that they could do for us. The day of the wedding went so smoothly and everything was just as we imagined it. Brooke seemed like she was in 20 places as once, always within reach that day for ANYTHING (heck, she even brought me a drink while we waited for ceremony time!). The food!! The food was SO good! Every meal was served hot, tasted fantastic and the wait staff all had smiles on their faces. It was the most beautiful day in a gorgeous venue and was everything we dreamed it would be. Thank you isn't enough for this staff and venue! -

I hosted my entire Wedding Events and Party at the Sheraton on May 23 and could not have been more pleased with the entire experience! Brooke Potter was my main contact and person that I worked with for my Wedding Ceremony and Reception. She was very responsive and extremely involved in everything onsite. I actually have 9 years experience as a Director of Sales in Hotels and this girl smokes any Catering Sales Manager I have ever had on my teams in the past! She is incredible and needs a raise. For real! Chef Mert was also extremely hands on and there for anything that we needed. We spent 3 days onsite hosting multiple events with our guests that traveled to attend and everyone had a great experience. The food was very good and very hot! The Riverwalk was gorgeous at night. It was perfect! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! -

Great venue for a wedding
My son and daughter-in-law had their wedding at this venue, and and we did the rehearsal dinner here as well. Everything was beautiful, the wedding coordinator Brooke at the hotel was so helpful and had excellent follow through, we were very pleased! The entire staff at the restaurant was wonderful, the place was beautiful and everyone was so helpful! The food was delicious as well! -

The Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk was AMAZING!
Our wedding on 11/21/20 at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk was nothing short of perfect. My husband and I keep saying how we didn’t notice anything that went wrong! It was absolutely perfect! Having a wedding during covid was not easy but the Sheraton made it work it! We worked with Brooke and she was absolutely amazing. She was only working with us for a short time because of everything going on and quickly stepped up and made it everything we could dream of. Brooke was extremely accommodating to all changes and willing to work with us in any situation. The Sheraton provides everything from food, beverages, tables, linen to set up and clean up. When we chose the Sheraton we wanted a venue where we did not have to worry about much and that is what we got! 10/10 would recommend the venue to anyone and especially with the help of Brooke. -

Wedding Reception
We planned our wedding in Tampa, FL from Washington, DC and we had ZERO problems. From scheduling the tasting to room block to communication with vendors- Paul and his team does it all. The only outside vendors we had to coordinate were flowers for centerpieces and decoration, photographer, and DJ. Everything else was provided by Sheraton! I priced many, many venues in the Tampa area and I guarantee you will not find a better place for the value, especially in the Downtown area. Many other places were going to cost us double what we ended up spending at Sheraton, and I guarantee we wouldn't have had the experience we had for our wedding. -

We had the most amazing day!! We planned our wedding from out of town and Paul made it so seamless!!! We did not have one worry the day of the wedding, he handled and thought of everything before we could even think of it!!! I would HIGHLY recommend this location and working with Paul!!! We ended up getting married in Tampa just to have our wedding here and we don’t regret a single minute of that decision!! If you are planning on getting married in Tampa, you should definitely choose this venue!!!!! -

We had a destination wedding in Tampa & we both wanted something on the water but in the city. Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk was PERFECT. The Riverview Room was gorgeous for our ceremony & the Riverwalk Ballroom had awesome water views along with a giant dance floor for our guests. The food was great, the service was INCREDIBLE but Paul Sparks was a true standout! He was so easy to work with, especially as a we were having a destination wedding. He pulled off the perfect day for us, and his recommendations for other vendors were so great. -

This was the perfect place for our wedding - it had ceremony space, cocktail hour and reception space. The catering was easy and they honestly are very hands on and help with everything. Paul Sparks, the planner throughout the process and day of planner was amazing. He helped make our day awesome! I honestly don't know that I would have changed anything. The hotel was great and also helped make sure we had a wonderful time/stay. Highly recommended! -

We had a wonderful experience with the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk Hotel and their entire staff and I would highly recommend choosing this venue. Paul Sparks their Wedding Specialist took care of us from beginning to end. He answered every question, was very responsive to any need we had took care of every detail of our big day and helped us right through until the day of the wedding right up until the end of our event at 11:00 PM. The hotel rooms are nice, the hotel ballroom is beautiful and overlooks the water which made for spectacular sunset and evening pictures. We had breakfast for our guests the following morning in a private room. The entire staff at the hotel took care of any request that we had. -

It was originally Renee Davis that we booked with, but she ended up having to leave and Paul Sparks took over. I was nervous at first because we went over all of the details and planned everything with Renee, but Paul was truly amazing and I couldn't have been happier to have him there on my big day. He kept everything organized and handled our family drama professionally. The entire set up for the ceremony room, cocktail hour and reception were gorgeous and everything was so organized and well run. -

Kim Sent on 06/04/2010We were so happy that we chose Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk as the venue for our wedding ceremony and reception!!!!! We researched venues all over the Tampa Bay area with two criteria in mind: one, it had to be a hotel/resort for out-of-towners (and because we had a open bar and didn't want our guests to have to drive), and two, it had to be on some kind of waterway for aesthetic purposes. We looked at some beautiful choices along the various beaches of Pinellas County, but when we really looked at what we were getting for our money, bang for your buck, the Sheraton Riverwalk was definitely the way to go! First of all, the setting on the Hillsborough River is fabulous (with the minarets of UT in the backdrop), and the property itself has been beautifully renovated, which all made for gorgeous pictures. Secondly, Renee Davis and her team were invaluable in the planning stages, always there to answer questions or reassure. The night of the Big Event, we were treated to what I considered to be 5-star treatment the entire evening--from the time I checked into the hotel, I felt like a princess or movie star. The service and food were excellent, and the view from our bridal suite up and down the river was nothing short of magnificent. All of our guests raved afterward and asked when we are throwing another party! I woud recommend Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk to anyone! -

Amber Sent on 11/27/2010My husband and I were huge fans of this hotel from the beginning, as were my parents. We utilized the Riverview room for our ceremony and the Riverwalk ballroom for our reception. I loved the fact that the ballroom had the balcony right off of the room so the cigar lovers could enjoy themselves and not have to walk a mile to get outside. We also needed a venue where our guests could stay so they could fully enjoy themselves and the Sheraton fit all of our requirements.The food at this hotel was excellent!! We have gotten so many compliments from guests at our wedding who enjoyed both the food and the wine the hotel used during our cocktail hour and reception. The coordinator Renee is a sweetheart and did all she could to cater to our needs. She even made sure that my husband had the salad he liked at our tasting as his salad for dinner. She was a little tough to get ahold of some days but it all worked out in the end and we were thrilled with the outcome. We also had guests tell us that she kept everyone informed and organized as they filed into the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception. Our wedding was the day before Halloween and we had a few specific decorations we wanted out during our cocktail hour and reception which Renee took care for us and everything looked amazing. We did have a few hitches at our venue...1) one whole table of guests did not get their favors, 2)we did not get our champagne and strawberries in our honeymoon suite, and 3) there was a huge halloween party the night before our wedding and they booked our honeymoon suite the night before and gave those guests a late check-out so I couldn't get into my room as early as desired for pictures and hair/makeup. There is only valet at this hotel but if you get the platinum package, parking is included for your wedding guests (they do still have to pay if they stay the night but it is reduced). Overall, I would definitely recommend this hotel to future brides out there. My husband and I and all of our guests had a great time!! -

We enjoyed our reception very much--Renee was very flexible about arranging the room and planning the food to our liking. service by the bar attendant and waiters was exceptional. Though tasty, the food is very expensive--much more than most catering companies would charge. Still it is a BEAUTIFUL ballroom with windows that open to the River and have views of the Tampa skyline--a rarity for hotel ballrooms. Since the venue is fairly new, it is in fabulous condition! I have no regrets about having our wedding at the Sheraton Tampa Riverwalk hotel. -

At first I was working with Brooke Potter. She left due to unknown circumstances. So Crystal became my main contact and wedding coordinator. Let me start off by saying I couldn’t think of anything worse that could have gone wrong with a coordinator. If it wasn’t for my vendors, my wedding would have been an absolute disaster. She did absolutely nothing. Not quite sure what she gets paid for. I directed my entire rehearsal while she stood there. She then told me I needed to 2 door people to open the doors after the ceremony as she would not be there. My guest after the ceremony were lost and didn’t know where to go because she was no where to be found not to mention guest had to ask to be seated at 4:55 for a 5:00pm ceremony because she wouldn’t allow it. Later I saw her for bridal party enterences but after that she was gone! Then had the nerves the next day to ask me how it all went. HA you wouldn’t know because you weren’t there. After we cut the cake I had to physically go into the kitchen hallway to ask a worker to cut my cake. Save your money. Do not book here. The rooms don’t have tinted windows either and it gets beyond hot. -

When we booked this hotel for our wedding night, we had intentions of using the room for the groomsmen to get ready in the day-of, however, they wouldn’t allow for early check-in which was extremely frustrating. They were rude over the phone and their customer service was poor. The room photo online looked nothing like what we got (we got something much smaller) and when we addressed this with them in-person they basically said they “advertised all their suites using the same pic online which was really their ‘upgraded suite’” which was super deceiving. We thought we booked a true suite when in reality we got an overpriced room with a couch. The water for the shower was luke warm at best and there was a wedding onsite the day we stayed so we weren’t even able to use their facilities like the pool or outside deck. I do not recommend staying at this hotel.
