When my husband and I decided to plan our wedding, we knew we wanted something small in a unique venue. We also knew we wanted to have our wedding where we met-in Providence, RI. The Hotel Providence was the PERFECT choice!

Venue
The venue itself is stunning and unique. Our ceremony was held on the gorgeous rooftop terrace, where staff accommodated our request for a rooftop bar for before and during the ceremony. The main dining room was the perfect location for our reception. With access to the restaurant space and the courtyard, too, our guests had plenty of room to dance, drink, mingle, and enjoy the summer weather.

Food & Drink
One thing we were really amazed by was the amount of food and food options we had. From hearty food stations and appetizers down to much-needed late night snacks, the food was rolling out all night. The best part was that it was all delicious! The drinks were made well and readily available all night.

Staff
From the initial planning stages to the last song of our wedding night, Kate and Emily handled every detail and helped make our wedding perfect and stress-free. They coordinated drop off from other vendors, helped us make (and keep) a timeline, and incorporate fun extras, like a cigar bar and cornhole for the courtyard and a kids' activity table for the youngest guests. They answered our countless questions and always made us feel like we were the only clients they had.
The waitstaff was incredibly friendly and accommodating, even making sure to deliver a slice fo wedding cake to the rooms of a few young guests who didn't make it to cake cutting time. The bartenders went above and beyond, even offering to go to a nearby liquor store to purchase the groom's beer of choice when it was revealed that it was replaced by a comparable beer that we had not requested.

The Hotel Providence helped this visionless bride create the the most perfect setting for the most perfect day. It is without hesitation that I would not only recommend the Hotel Providence for any special event but would also happily host another event here in the future!

What an amazing venue. Beautiful location for a RI Wedding. It was perfect to have everything in one place (ceremony, cocktail hour, reception). There are so many different spaces to utilize which kept our guests entertained for the entire night. Kate, Emily, and the staff at Hotel Providence went above and beyond and we could not recommend them or this venue enough!!!

We had a fantastic time at Hotel Providence celebrating our wedding. Kate did a beautiful job transforming what is already a beautiful venue into a magical fairytale garden experience. Our guests all had a great time, and everyone couldn't say enough about how fantastic the food was! The New England seafood station in particular was a real hit with our guests! The staff also made sure to put food aside for my husband and me, which was a nice touch to make sure we actually got enough food. I would definitely recommend working with Hotel Providence for your wedding!

We had such a great experience using Hotel Providence for our wedding! From our first meeting with Kate through the day-of with Emily, we always knew we were in good hands. They made planning so easy and fun, walking us through each step of the process. The food was delicious, the venue spaces were beautiful, and most importantly our guests and us had the best time on wedding day!!

We had our wedding at Hotel Providence and we are so glad we did! The venue is beautiful. There are so many unique places to take pictures, from their staircase to the rooftop. The ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception are all held in different spaces, but all near each other. At first, I was skeptical of this idea but when I toured the hotel, I loved this! It helps break up the night and keeps guests moving. It also keeps them intrigued about what happens next. The reception room was recently painted- it is no longer red! We actually enjoyed the red, but I think for some people this color can be too dramatic or dark. The room is now a light gray color and omg, it's a beautiful change. We liked the red, but we loved the gray. It makes the room feel so much bigger and it matches everything. Weddings are always expensive, but we found Hotel Providence to be reasonable compared to other venues, especially considering all that is included. We worked with Kate for several months as we planned all the details. She is very detail-oriented and helpful as you pick out all the details. She is so accommodating and wants to make sure your night is exactly what you want it to be. We added things here, took things away there, and there was no issue at all- she made sure everything happened. I would often have random questions during the process, emailing them to Kate as they came up. She is patient and kind, always responding within a couple days and making sure everything was clear. We met Emily the week of the wedding and was our day of coordinator, spending the entire wedding day at the hotel. She worked with her staff, making sure all of the decor was set up the way we hoped. We explained how we wanted our decor, but ultimately gave her control to make any executive decisions that made sense- for example, if something just didn't look "right" in one spot, feel free to move it to a better spot. We were not disappointed by how everything looked! It was all beautiful, and it was a perfect night. We stayed in a king suite and it was the perfect size for me, 3 bridesmaids, hair/make up artist, photographer, videographer, and the family members who came in and out throughout the day. We have received many compliments for choosing this venue. We are very grateful that we chose Hotel Providence (the first venue we toured actually!) We definitely recommend this venue, and would choose it over and over again.. Thank you!

We are so happy we chose to have our wedding at the Hotel Providence. Everyone you work with is super friendly, responsive, and helpful. The ceremony/reception spaces are beautiful, the food is great, and it is one of the best values in Providence venues. Our wedding couldn't have been better - we are so grateful and highly recommend them to anyone looking to get married in Rhode Island!!

This venue and wedding package was perfect. The recommended vendors were great and simplified the process. We did the microwedding during COVID and it turned out beautiful. I feel like I had an amazing wedding for less. Our guests loved the food, especially the filet. Highly recommend.

We had a great experience with Hotel Providence. They were one of the hotels we used for a wedding block for our wedding, and our guests who chose to stay there loved it. We also used them for our brunch for out of towners, and their pricing was extremely reasonable, the food was tasty, and they had plenty of space for us and our 30-40 guests. Would definitely recommend!

It’s taken almost 2 months to even come up with the appropriate words to show the amount of gratitude we have to the hotel providence. From the moment we met, we knew it was a match. The chemistry was kismet, like where has kate been all my life?!? I hate that i don’t live in providence because I would have EVERY single event there always. We were one of her many COVID couples and literally had our food tasting the week before lockdown in NYC. Her flexibility and understanding of postponements, and keeping us informed on mandates and our options for everything was truly amazing. Now let’s get to the big weekend, from the SECOND we pulled up we were VIP’s all the way. Every member of the staff knew who we were and that it was our wedding weekend and i have never felt more special in my whole life. When i tell you that i didn’t stress out one bit because i just knew “Kate has this, Kate has this” and man she did! Every single detail was perfect. Everything was perfect. Every single person working the wedding was perfect. Food was EXCELLENT, like ten times better than the tasting. The hotel itself is absolutely perfect, the Rodger Williams suite was a great touch, loved being able to check on our dog from the wedding downstairs courtyard. I’ll be forever grateful to every single person that helped make this long loooong journey to the alter possible and for pulling off the greatest party that my friends and family are all still talking about

Getting married at Hotel Providence was truly amazing. We had toured about 6 other venues before dropping by Hotel Providence on a whim. As soon as we left we knew that was going to be our venue. The hotel is stunning and the flexibility of using the terrace, courtyard, and dining room was perfect for what we wanted. We relied heavily on the existing decor and color-scheme of the hotel and it paid off - our photos are stunning and we didn't have to overly decorate anything. Kate and Emily are a dream to work with. We had a lot of customization and non-traditional elements for our wedding and never faced any pushback. Even when we had to postpone our wedding due to the pandemic, they were communicative and reassuring throughout the process. My only complaint is we did have several issues with the reservation booking and check-in process for our guests, but that was mostly due to the third-party reservation service the hotel uses. When we went directly through the hotel for questions or issues, they were immediately resolved. Overall, this hotel is a gem and was a huge factor in making our wedding completely unique.

We had our wedding this June 2021 at Hotel Providence and I can not say enough good things about the venue and the venue coordinator, Kate. We were supposed to have our day in April 2020 but had to cancel due to COVID and Kate supported us all the way through! She is always responsive and a huge help. She works seamlessly with other vendors so that wedding planning is as stress free as possible. Our day was beautiful, unique and so much fun! Get married here!

Our wedding at the Hotel Providence was incredible, beyond everything I had imagined it would be! If I could relive every moment I wouldn't change a single thing - it was perfect. Even though this was our second round of wedding plans due to COVID, it ended up being SO much more in line with our style and vision than our initial plan - and working with Kate throughout the planning process was a dream. She made every step fun and simple, she had answers for absolutely everything EVEN throughout the craziness of pandemic planning, and she was able to guide me through every decision in such a way that we ended up with a wedding that felt perfectly unique to us, no cookie-cutter wedding here. Then working with Emily during the final planning and day-of stages was fabulous - she really understood what I was looking for from the get-go and her professional, efficient, "getting it done" vibe was so reassuring! I knew she would have everything under control. On the day-of she had everything running smoothly, I didn't have to worry or deal with a single thing, and she really made sure the event looked exactly like what I had imagined, even better really.

The food was fantastic, the ceremony and reception spaces were gorgeous, the hotel suites were perfect (and dog friendly!!) and Kate, Emily, and the entire staff took such great care of us and our guests throughout the whole experience and especially on our big day. I can't say enough about this venue, it was just absolutely perfect.

Hotel Providence was a dream come true. I cannot say one bad thing about this place. My husband and I knew this was the perfect place for us given the amazing venue, location and price options. Kate and Emily were our two main points of contact and they were incredible. They answered every question near immediately and were able to make the day exactly how we imagined. I wish I could nominate them for the BEST DAY OF PEOPLE. My husband and I could not be more happy. The food was incredible and we felt like royalty because of how well we were taken care of. Even when weather took a turn, the hotel pivoted and made an adjustment. No one would even know we made a change. If you don't book your wedding here you are truly missing out.

Everything was PERFECT for our big day! Kate and Emily were helpful for every step - they were always quick with communication, and really made us feel like our interests were their number one priority! Our guests are still raving about the food, drinks, and amazing location!

I am not usually one to leave reviews, but seriously, using the Hotel Providence was hands down the best decision we made for our wedding day. We had a smaller wedding (around 55-60 people) and the venue was perfect. Kate and Emily were easy to work with, friendly and accommodating. Kate walked us through the hotel on a video tour as we booked this venue sight unseen from Ohio. She set up a private tasting for us because my now husband and I live out of state. We did a cigar bar in the park area and had cocktail hour on the rooftop. I cannot begin to thank them for everything they did. My family and friends are still talking about how incredible the wedding was, how good the food was, and how much fun they had and that is mostly thanks to the incredible work Kate and Emily and the entire Hotel Providence staff did. I seriously cannot recommend them enough!!!

I chose Hotel Providence as my venue for my October wedding and I couldn’t be happier with my decision! Kate and Emily were both a pleasure to work with. They responded to emails and phone calls in a timely manner and were always there to answer any of my questions! The day of my wedding, I was SO relaxed because I put my full trust in Emily. She has the ability to make even the most anxious bride (me!) feel completely at ease. The first time I met her I trusted that she would ensure that everything went smoothly on the big day.. and her great sense of humor was just an added bonus! We got so many compliments on our wedding, and I can’t express enough how happy I am that I chose Hotel Providence. The food was excellent, all of the recommended vendors were a delight to work with, and the day went way more smoothly than I ever could have imagined!

The Hotel Providence is like a dream. We postponed 3 times due to the pandemic and they graciously helped us through each postponement. The first postponement was devastating, but then it was like they understood that we wanted to have the event that we had originally planned for. The actual day was about a year and a half later and it was all I could have asked for. The ceremony space is beautiful. The concept of having everything so connected so that you can easily sneak away and go back to your room made it feel like home. We had 2 events attached - a welcome dinner and a brunch. Both were spectacularly catered and delicious. Everything was to our satisfaction. My husband and I would highly suggest to book your wedding with Hotel Providence. We had initially considered a barn wedding, but were so fortunate to choose a venue that had so much included.

I can’t recommend this place enough. Kate and her team is amazing. I postponed 3 times and changed venues because of covid, so my head was spinning by the time I met Kate. I had some crazy ideas and a very non traditional vision. Kate helped me and worked wonderfully with all of my vendors. She made sure from first thing in the morning until the very last minute of the night everything went smooth, was perfect, and that everyone enjoyed themselves. I can’t thank her and her team enough !

Better late than never. Our wedding was nearly 1 year ago.

If I could describe Kate from Hotel Providence in one word, it would be professional. She was very responsive and helped guide us through our New Year's eve wedding; it was clear this was not her first rodeo. The hotel is a lovely and very unique space. The rooms are great and 100% pet friendly, which was a great bonus for us and several guests as well.

There are also great outdoor areas that would be awesome for a summer wedding, but even in the winter, we had a blast, and would definitely recommend.

Hotel Providence truly gave my fiancée and I the wedding of our dreams. The venue and its staff could not have been any better!

So here are 10 strange and off-beat things that you probably won’t think about when planning your wedding, but they’re things that all end up *really* mattering to how great your weekend is:

(1) How nice / fancy/ *BALLER* is your hotel room the night of your wedding? (unbelievable….. Oprah stayed in the same room they gave us FOR FREE! It’s enormous, and so fancy!)
(2) Will the venue let you reserve their entire restaurant for free the night before your wedding for your rehearsal dinner? (Um… what?! They really did that. And they had appetizers on the table waiting for us after our ceremony rehearsal)
(3) Will all of the entire venue staff be super sweet and gracious and go out of their way to remember your name? (YES! Even down to the valet parkers!)
(4) Will the wedding planner at the venue be unbelievably responsive and answer all of your questions / emails / phone calls within an hour or less in the months leading up to the wedding?! (What?!? YES! She DOES! Even when you’ve already emailed her like 30 times already that week!)
(5) Will the FREE hotel room that the venue gives you be big enough so you can get ready with your entire bridal party, your Mom, your makeup person & your photographer all in the same space, AND give you enough room to spread out lunch for everyone? (YES! It was where OPRAH stayed! It’s huge!)
(6) How easily will I be able to unload all my wedding decorations / signs / suitcases / photo-booth / gear? (pull up in front! They’ll help you unload all your boxes of decorations and be *super* careful with your dress. And then they’ll park for you.)
(7) Will the venue staff be running around behind the scenes like crazy, moving centerpieces & decorations, running to get the wedding vows when you forgot them in your room, all while making it look *effortless and seamless*?? (Why…. YES! They DO!)
(8) Will it be 100% awesome for 100% of your guests to find hotels / airb’n’bs/ etc within walking distance of your ceremony & reception? (YES! Everyone *loved* that they were so close to us)
(9) Will the chef go out of his way to accommodate everything that you’d like to have at the times you want it? (YES! 1,000%)
(10) Will everyone tell you, after your wedding, how delicious the food was, how beautiful the venue was, and how comfortable and happy they felt at your wedding? (YEP! They absolutely did!)

I could go on and on and on about why Hotel Providence is the most perfect place in Rhode Island to pick for your wedding venue.
And TBH, we picked it because it was, by far, the most affordable of the 30 different venues that we researched in Rhode Island.
But that turned out to be the least important thing about it… (besides the fact that having our wedding there saved us *thousands* of dollars).
The most important thing about picking Hotel Providence for your wedding venue is that they look after *every* *single* detail, and make SURE that along every step of the way, the bride and groom are having a wonderful, stress-free day.
And they make you feel super special and super important while they’re doing it.

We had a beautiful ceremony and reception at the Hotel Providence in August 2019.

From our first time entering the hotel before we even knew we'd choose it as a venue, to leaving the day after our wedding, our experience at the Hotel Providence was nothing short of fantastic. Kate is an absolute pro at what she does and happily answered our dozens of questions throughout the year of planning. No detail was too small or petty and she walked us through our day with a knowledgeability that always put us at ease.

The wedding weekend was a true blast. Our guests arrived on Friday night and we had a lovely, impromptu evening of drinks at The Backstage Bar and Grill. In addition to loving the rooms' amenities and the hotel's aesthetic, our guests raved about the patio space, neighborhood, and staff.

Our wedding day, thought not without its hiccups, was an absolute success. The space looked beautiful and the food was plentiful and the drinks strong. Again, our guests raved about the friendly service during our sit-down meal, as well as the good-humored bartenders working throughout the night. People also flat out loved the food and straight up lost it over the donut bar and late night snack. These little touches throughout the event made it extremely memorable for our guests and left us feeling like our vision for the day had been fully realized and well-executed. Kate and Emily for the win!

The Hotel Providence offers value, top-notch service, and delicious food in an incredible location. We could not have asked for a better experience for our guests and enthusiastically recommend this venue to any couple considering getting married in Providence.

The venue and staff was absolutely amazing for my october wedding! The main stage room and ceremonial area were set up so well and perfect for the fall day. Anything and everything we needed or wanted was cared for by the staff. I had the best experience and felt so comfortable working with Kate. If I ever have an event, I will be checking here again.

We had our wedding at Hotel Providence. It was a wonderful weekend with family and friends. Great food, wonderful staff.Hotel Providence is the perfect place to host a wedding. Its nestled in downtown providence seconds from PPAC and many bars and shops. From the booking phase with Kate to the actual wedding date the team was amazing. Thank you Kate and Emily for everything. It was truly amazing!

We had a wedding of around 80 guests and many were from out of state, so having everyone stay at the venue the weekend of the wedding was fun and convenient. I emailed Kate countless times leading up to the wedding and she was always extremely responsive and professional, which made a huge difference during the planning process. She also works very closely with xoxo the girls which made linen and chair rentals easy. Emily who does food and beverage was also amazing.

My husband and I were originally looking for a more rustic venue but decided on Hotel Providence after our tour there. The hotel is just absolutely STUNNING and they offer so much to their clients- food, tables, linens, chairs, the cake, ceremony space, reception space, bar. Their catering manager (aka SUPERWOMAN) Kate Heemsoth is out of this world. She made everything so easy. Highly efficient, organized, FUN, laid back...just amazing. She really is a rock star. I would have been stressed and lost without her.

Kate and her team were beyond amazing. Our year of planning was so much less stressful because of Kate’s support. She was patient with us and seemed to really “get us” as a couple. All the planning led to our wedding day being absolutely perfect. 99% of the perfection was because of Kate and her team (the last 1% was Mother Nature with beautiful weather). The food, service and space were perfect. She worked wonderfully with our other amazing vendors. Couldn’t possibly be happier with how everything turned out. The cost was worth it and even felt like a good deal considering what we got!

We were delighted with everything about the Hotel Providence. The venue is a beautiful, restored hotel and the ceremony was held on their terrace under a canopy with chandeliers. Then the reception was in the main dining room and the outside courtyard which was perfect for the July evening weather. The food was fabulous and everything we could have asked for. Our guests raved about the venue and the food. Best of all, the event coordinator, Kate was absolutely the best! She handled everything from beginning to end, including reserving our suite where we stayed in the same room that Elton John, Bruce Springsteen, and Oprah Winfrey had stayed in! She brought us champagne while we were having hair and makeup done and made sure that every detail went smoothly and perfectly. Couldn't have done it without her and her wonderful staff, who were all so nice and pleasant. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone for any kind of party you might wish to have here.

We could not have been more happy with this venue. It was the perfect choice for us with a wonderful combination of upscale city and garden party! The appetizers and food were amazing-plentiful and delicious. The overall service was fantastic! Kate Heemsoth was the star of our show-she made this a perfect event for us! Book this!! From start to finish Kate Heemsoth and her team were assuring, amazing and did a gorgeous job! Organized, attentive, always responsive. We looked at 11 venues and kept coming back to Kate and her team. Nobody could do what she did and work with our budget. The best.

Our wedding was perfect. Hotel Providence is gorgeous and the staff took care of our every need. Our guests loved the rooms, the food, and the atmosphere. It was everything we’d hoped for.

This is a hidden treasure in Providence. This venue is perfect for a city wedding, with a touch of character. It is a quaint hotel and location. This venue can host up to 150 wedding guests. The service we have recieved since the first email has been amazing! A breath of fresh air!

I would not have changed one thing! Kate and all the staff were so helpful and so nice. Everyone who came to our wedding said it was one of the best they have been to! Thank you so much.

Kate, Greg and the entire staff at Hotel Providence were amazing. Our wedding was everything we wanted, we were able to incorporate a few items from the regular menu to our reception which was awesome cause (Aspire) now Backstage Kitchen & Bar was where we met on our first date. The hotel accommodations have a romantic setting and were immaculate. We were able to access the roof to take some great wedding pictures, which happens to be one of my favorites. Kate helped take the ease out of wedding planning by taking over and letting me know what starts when. The banquet staff did a fantastic job of transforming all the spaces for our special day. Our cocktail reception was on the tented terrace, dinner was in the main dining area with access directly outside to our dance floor. PERFECT! Again, I thank all of you and would highly recommend Hotel Providence for a wedding reception.

My daughter and her now husband were looking for a restaurant venue to accommodate a medium sized wedding, with the ceremony and reception held at the same location. They wanted a classy, but low key vibe, with great food and great service. We couldn't have been happier with the result. Angela and her staff were amazing, and the event was a great success! No detail was forgotten, and as a result of their attentiveness, we all had a great day, without any worries.

Everyone involved in the wedding went above and beyond to accommodate and make sure our day was beautiful. The ambianice of the restaurant and bar coupled with outstanding food made the night spectacular. The staff was professional, classy, fun, and well prepared. Angela met my every request and went above and beyond to make sure everything was what I had requested or said I liked. The bridal attendant Sarah was amazing and so calming and attentive to my every need. I cannot say enough about how wonderful our wedding was and how excellent the staff was. People commented that it was the best wedding they had ever been to.

Angela was great to work with and super sweet. I had my ceremony, reception, cake and wedding guest favors all handled by silvershellhospitality and it was all fantastic. Max is an amazing chef and many guests told me it was the best wedding reception they had ever been to. I highly recommend.

Everything went great and smooth. Angela was great to deal with and made things very easy for us. The food was great, bar service was great and the ceremony in the terrace was awesome.

We had a very positive experience working with Angela and her associates (Aubrey, Andrew, Gardner and others) at Silvershell Hospitality- the new owners of the Rosmarin restaurant and Tarragon bar at Hotel Providence. We booked our wedding reception with the Hotel before the management change so had some concerns about the transition, but those were put to rest immediately after we met Angela, and Max, executive chef, and the sous chef. Angela listened to our ideas, made helpful suggestions, tracked down answers immediately to our questions, and was patient and responsive in every way. The kitchen prepared an amazing dinner for our 85 guests. The salmon, chicken, and vegetarian risotto dinner options were all prepared beautifully and we received only positive feedback from guests about the food and the service.. Angela also helped us plan a day after breakfast for our guests in the Johnson & Wales room upstairs which also was enjoyable with every detail considered. We chose Hotel Providence for its elegant yet not overly formal dining room - perfect size for our party - the location, and great accommodations for out of town guests. We couldn't have been happier with our wedding reception and overall experience with Hotel Providence and Silvershell Hospitality and would book another event here with no hesitations.

As mother of the bride I was very nervous that something would go wrong, Rhonda English made sure my fears were put to rest. Rhonda and all of the staff at Hotel Providence went above and beyond. My daughter's wedding was elegant, the food at the cocktail hour and reception was exceptional. Rhonda made sure to keep everything moving smoothly and was courteous, professional and always had a smile. You can't go wrong with Rhonda!!

Rhonda was absolutely amazing!!! She was so easy to work with and made sure everything was followed through with perfectly ! Our wedding was wonderful, we continue to get compliments of "best wedding ever!" daily from our guests. I owe a great deal to Rhonda and her staff for being so attentive and going above and beyond! We initially chose Hotel Providence for our wedding reception because of the perfect location in the heart of Providence and the beautiful restaurant/courtyard, then we met Rhonda English and were completely in love! Rhonda was professional and easy to talk to to and work with.
The reception was absolutely beautiful. The food was phenomenal. Everything went perfectly. My guests said it the best wedding they'd ever been to. They still talk about it to this day. The service was perfect and never missed a beat. Many of my guests stayed at the hotel and loved the rooms.
We love to travel to RI and visit Hotel Providence. It's one the best hotels downtown!

This place comes highly recommended. We chose this location almost solely off of their director of catering, Rhonda. She was my bridal consultant and she was beyond amazing. Not to mention the food was fantastic. They made our big night absolutely perfect down to the last detail. We def made the right decision on choosing hotel providence.

The Hotel Providence is absolutely beautiful and is an ideal part of the city. All of the employees were very helpful the days leading up to my wedding and the day of. Rhonda, the wedding coordinator, made sure it was a day to remember and ensured it went smoothly. She took away all of my anxiety about planning away and left me with just the excitement of the day. Rhonda is very knowledgeable, professional, and now a friend for life. Tom Craig, the florist, was amazing as well. My bouquets and arrangements were exactly how I wanted them and we're fresh and beautiful. I am so thankful to Rhonda and Tom, as well as all of the staff at the Hotel Providence. I definitely encourage any bride to have their ceremony and reception there. I got married under a tent on the balcony on the roof top. It was absolutely stunning.

My daughter and son-in-law had their wedding at the Hotel Providence Columbus Day weekend 2011. The staff and Rhonda English made their day so smooth and wonderful. Anything we needed they were right there to help.
We had food stations throughout the reception, something many of us had never seen, and it was amazing how each station was timed perfectly with our appetites!! And the food, it was superb!!!!!! The guests were raving about the service and how they'd never been to a wedding like this.
Everything went off without a hitch and 3.5 years later, when my daughter comes up in conversation, people still tell me how much they loved their experience. We had at least half of the guest list travel quite a way for the wedding and accommodations were wonderful.
I really can't thank the Hotel Providence staff, and especially Rhonda English, enough, for all she/they did for my daughter and son-in-law to make sure it was a day that all their dreams came true!!
It is a beautiful spot, that whole week was gorgeous, there was a Water Fire ( Gloria Gemma ) and the air was electric!!!!

The Hotel Providence and wedding planner Rhonda English gave my daughter the most wonderful wedding. It was almost 3 years ago and people are still commenting what a beautiful wedding my daughter and her husband had.

The Hotel atmosphere was so pretty, and the food was top notch. My guests complimented us all night regarding the dinner.

Since this was first time plannig a wedding, Rhonda was there all the way, She was good at her job, I let Rhonda makes lots of suggestions and we used lots of them...

I suggest you give The Hotel Providence a chance to prove what I have been saying for 3 years.....the "best wedding ever"......all the staff treated us like royality.....

This review is long over due... My husband and I got married here September 1, 2013. The best word to describe our wedding was perfect! Rhonda English is by far the best in the industry. She was there every step of the way from booking to planning and to most importantly executing a wonderful day/ evening for all who attended our wedding. We visited Aspire for my birthday one year and while we were sitting in the dining room my husband said we would be having our wedding here. The quality and presentation of food is far superior to any other venue in RI. The atmosphere in Aspire is chic yet very welcoming and the bartenders and wait staff strive to make sure your experience is wonderful. Rhonda coordinated all of our vendors; floral, dj, photographers, etc to be sure everything ran smoothly the day of our wedding. She even offered to bring us Dunkin Donuts the morning of while getting ready! :) If you are looking for a beautiful venue, professional staff and excellent food, you better choose Hotel Providence! I am still getting compliments about our wedding from guests of all ages.

My husband and I had our wedding reception back in July at the Hotel Providence. Rhonda English worked with us on planning an event the exceeded our expectations! The Chef worked with us on the menu and the food was delicious. Rhonda and the staff were easy to work with and went above and beyond. I work with a lot of hotel event managers and sale staff. I have to say that Rhonda is one if the best I have ever worked with. Strongly consider the Hotel Providence for your event! We are looking forward to our 1 year anniversary stay!

The venue is beautiful and the food is amazing. All the employees were very helpful and kind. Everything was perfect, it was truly the best day of my life.

Silvershell Hospitality Services truly made our wedding day dreams come true. Angela was terrific to work with and completely understood and executed our vision perfectly. She gave us complete confidence that nothing would go wrong the day of (or if something did, she would fix it without a hitch) and we just knew it would be a tremendous day. The food was amazing, and all of our guests had a great time. The staff that worked our wedding were so friendly and fun, they definitely added to the great atmosphere of our night. We cannot thank everyone enough for making this once in a lifetime day be everything that we wanted and more!

We held a beautiful Bridal Shower in the Blackstone Terrace and adjoining Johnson and Wales Room. Everyone was very happy with the logistics, the space, the food, and the service. Most importantly, when faced with last minute requests for changes, the staff at Hotel Providence went out of their way to respond immediately and made everything work seamlessly. I have worked with many hotels and event planners over the years in my work life. From the planning stages to final execution, I can honestly say I would not hesitate to host a Wedding or other special event at Hotel Providence. Angela, Alex, and the entire staff are all Top Notch!

What can we say except that we had a wonderful winter wedding at Hotel Providence for us and our 100 guests. We chose Hotel Providence because it is a pet-friendly venue where we could have our special guy, our black labrador, stay with us and participate in the ceremony. (A couple of our guests where thrilled to bring their dogs along too instead of having kennel them.) The location was ideal for out-of-towners whether flying or driving and the accommodations were excellent. We secured a reasonable rate for our overnight guests. Rhonda English was fantastic in helping us pull together a special celebration and is an exceptional coordinator. The staff was accommodating.

We have not heard anything but raves about the accommodations from the overnight guests about the food at the reception and dinner from our guests.

Hotel Providence is gorgeous and a great place to stay in Providence. The location is perfect - right downtown and close to everything, and the rooms are cozy while spacious.

My new husband and I stayed here, with all of our friends and family for our wedding weekend and even had our ceremony in the beautiful tented terrace on the second floor.

Rhonda was a our wedding day coordinator - the few months leading up to the wedding she wasn't very responsive over the phone or email, but she's much more helpful in person. Not great when you're planning from another state but it worked out.

However, Rhonda was wonderful on the day of the wedding. She checked on all of us throughout the day, answered any of my last minute questions, helped us put finishing touches on the ceremony, and was there to make sure the ceremony went off perfectly. She is definitely a great people person and fantastic with the big picture planning, there were many times I had wished she was more organized and detail oriented BUT I honestly think she just needs an assistant considering Hotel Providence is super busy all the time and she does practically everything.

Overall, the hotel itself and Rhonda were amazing and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a special wedding day!!

Pay top dollar for poor service and no accountability...

My fiancee and I planned a lobster bake buffet through Hotel Providence's restaurant Aspire for our rehearsal dinner. We were very excited about the venue, but when it came to the night, we couldn't have been more disappointed. Service was lacking between waiters not serving water to tables, lack of silverware at tables, and a general lack of care for patrons. There was a general lack of execution between having no cups for butter or broth and no place to put finished lobster shells.

The biggest issue was that 9 out 35 of our guests did not get any lobster because the staff did not serve it in time. The Aspire staff were late in replacing food trays and did not tell anyone that the food was available, so we paid full price for guests who only ate a side salad.

When we called Rhoda English the event coordinator, she took no responsibility and referred us to other staff, who said there was plenty of food left and it was our guests' fault for not checking back with the buffet that food was now served. After calling Rhonda several times, she eventually returned my call and said that no charges would be made until they contacted us one more time...They never did and charged us full price. We called back several times and Rhoda was very difficult to contact and took no responsibility. The general lack of contact, customer service, and charging us for food we never received ended up being very embarrassing for us to explain to our guests.
