  Rish, Jamal and the Hotel OCHO team did a fantastic job leading up to the event and day-of! They were laid back but on the ball about everything including some unique touches we wanted to include in our wedding (pinata and secret message exchange with the bartenders for the signature drink, among other things). Two of the best things about the Hotel OCHO include the restaurant-quality food and service, as well as the 12 hotel rooms above the wedding venue that housed all of our close family the night of the wedding. It was like having a destination wedding in the city! Lots of guests commented about how cool the space was and many guests thoroughly enjoyed the craft beers on tap for the open bar. I loved everything about this venue, including the incredible value we feel we received, and it was the perfect space for our wedding.

  I had a new year's eve wedding at Hotel Ocho and it was an amazing place to have a party!!
  
  We started off by contacting the even coordinator, Rish. She is fantastic at getting back to you very quickly and keeps an open line of communication throughout the whole planning process. The rest of the staff is equally great - very organized, without being uptight about anything. It was a great group of people to work with.
  
  Next we came in to see the space. It has the same kind of vibe as the distillery (exposed beam, brick walls), but without the price tag (by FAR the most reasonably priced venue we looked at). I really liked the fact that it is a two story loft. We set up a lounge area on the second floor for those guests who wanted to sit and chat throughout the evening. We could keep the music lower on the second floor so people could carry a conversation easily. On the lower floor we set up a space to dance, so that could be the 'party floor'. Since it is an open loft though, it didn't feel like two separate spots - people on the second floor could watch what was happening on the first floor if they wanted. The venue also has some really great art work on the walls, which we left up since we didn't have any decorations of our own. It made for some really neat back grounds for photos!
  
  Before we put down a deposit, we came in to have dinner and get a sense of what the food is like. It was very tasty. I think their strongest area is apps/shared plates, which worked out really well for us since our wedding reception was a cocktail party that didn't start until around 8pm (no sit down dinner for our wedding - just a party!). The cocktails are fantastic and I loved that for a New Year's party people could have fun cocktails or whiskeys instead of just the usual bar rail.
  
  The hotel rooms are pretty unique - the beds are suuuuuper comfy and the tub and shower in the luxury king rooms are so awesome, but be warned that the king and luxury king rooms don't have bathroom do

  Hotel Ocho was the perfect place for my wedding ceremony and reception. It has a cool rustic urban decor, and with my flowers and candles it was like a romantic indoor garden. Rish the wedding coordinator at Ocho was a dream to work with - she is professional, responsive, and gives clear answers. She was very straightforward and never tried to trick me into paying more money than I had to. If anything, she gave me suggestions for where I could save money. The food was also delicious. All of our guests said it was a perfect wedding!! If I could get married again, I would do it at Hotel Ocho.

  Hotel Ocho was the perfect venue for my wedding. The space is beautiful, and the full service bar / restaurant that is included is an added bonus.
  
  I loved working with Rish, the events manager throughout the entire process. She was incredibly easy to work with and answered all my questions almost immediately. She was quick to set up meetings should we request and would walk us through everything we needed in advance.
  
  I would recommend Ocho to any friend looking for a modern, hip wedding location - and for a great price in the heart of Toronto!

  We were quite happy with the venue and team at Hotel Ocho for our wedding. From the very beginning the venue staff were extremely flexible. Just about every request we had, they were able to accommodate. We also found the team very queer-positive and had no issues or questions with it being a gay wedding.
  
  The space itself is beautiful if you're looking for an urban loft feel setting or for a wedding that's a bit less stuffy and formal. We held both the ceremony and reception/dance in the space and found it very flexible. Most of what we required was on-site so we had to bring very little in (even the DJ could wire in to the sound system). Most of all the team working the night of the wedding was friendly and helpful and actually seemed happy to be working the event (something I've never seen at another banquet!).
  
  There was excellent value for money, especially when it came to the meal. The desserts will not soon be forgotten! Plus, since they are a full service restaurant, it makes it easy to check out the space and the meals *before* selecting the vendor. I won't hesitate to recommend Ocho for other weddings or corporate events.

  We had our wedding at Hotel Ocho this past September and it was a wonderful experience. The staff, including the servers and management are absolutely amazing and made us feel great. The cost ended up being a bit higher than expected because of the consumption based bar, so take that into account if your wedding skews young. We would highly recommend this venue!

  This venue is great. They accomodated all our requests at a reasonable price. Food was amazing. All the guests loved the food as it was quality. We had a fun night and the venue was trendy, hip, and had an amazing bar. It lost points on professionalism as we found out later that one of the management staff was complaining to my father in law about the state of the washroom that one of our guests left it in. Went as far as showing him a picture of what he was dealing with, to our father in law during our party. Would have been better if they had made note and brought it to our attention the day after. But other than that small tidbid, the service and the staff were overall great.

  Hotel Ocho was a great venue for our wedding. The brick and beam space was perfect to host our intimate wedding. The staff did a great job setting up and providing excellent service at our wedding.
