We truly could not have asked for a better experience than what we had with Alaina Rineman and the team at Hotel Gettysburg. Together, they made our wedding weekend seamless, stress-free, and truly unforgettable.
Planning a wedding can feel overwhelming, but Alaina made the entire process feel manageable and even enjoyable. From the very beginning, Alaina was phenomenal. She responded to my initial inquiry within minutes and remained just as attentive throughout the entire planning process. She was always available to answer questions, walk through details, and offer thoughtful suggestions. She really took the time to get to know us as a couple, which made her suggestions feel personal and meaningful.
On the wedding day, Alaina handled everything behind the scenes flawlessly. Any hiccups were taken care of immediately, and we never felt stressed or distracted. She also went above and beyond for our guests, especially ensuring accommodations for those staying at the hotel and even arranging a to-go meal for a guest observing a religious fast. That level of care meant so much to us.
Hotel Gettysburg itself was the perfect venue. Located right in the heart of downtown, it offered a beautiful mix of historic charm and convenience. Our guests loved being able to walk around the square, and the hotel provided so many great gathering spaces—including One Lincoln, the Hotel’s own bar and restaurant. The on-site Starbucks was also a huge bonus! The on-site catering was also exquisite. We chose to do a buffet and the food choices were all delicious! Many of our guests returned for second and third helpings of the entrees.
The highlight for me is how incredibly picture-worthy the Hotel is, with stunning spots both inside and outside (the bank vault in the ballroom was a favorite!) for amazing wedding photos. Even with nearly 200 guests, the space allowed for comfortable mingling and dancing. The bridal suite and thoughtful touches like packaged cake slices, chocolate-covered fruit, and souvenir champagne glasses made us feel so special.
Pro Tip: I also highly recommend working with Destination Gettysburg. They provided free welcome packets for our guests filled with brochures, discounts, and even kid-friendly items, which enhanced the experience for our guests that stayed the full weekend.
Because of Alaina, I felt completely at ease and confident that everything was in good hands. When I look back on our wedding day, she is absolutely part of those memories—not just as a coordinator, but as someone who helped make the day feel so special. If you’re considering a Gettysburg wedding, Alaina and her team will take amazing care of you from start to finish.

Happiest day at Hotel Gettysburg
I held my wedding ceremony and reception through Hotel Gettysburg in September of 2025. The entire process was absolutely magical, and I highly recommend the venue. I initially reached out after falling in love with the ballroom ceilings and old fashioned bank vault. I met with the “day of coordinator” (shout out Alaina!) who helped us work out all the details from table settings and layout, dinner menu, bar package, and more. Having the day of planner soothed my mind on an otherwise hectic day, and she ensured everything was perfect and seamless on our special day.
On the day of, I had access to a spacious bridal suite, where my bridal party had more than enough room to do our hair and make up. My new husband and I also slept over that night, and the rooms were so comfortable and beautiful! For the actual ceremony, we accessed an outside train garden, and there were so many areas in the area for creative photo ops.
For dinner, we chose a steak and a chicken option, but the venue also accommodates vegan/vegetarian diets and allergies. The food was delicious, and we thoroughly enjoyed our drink package, as well.
We are so glad we chose Hotel Gettysburg to host our special day. The venue was beautiful and spacious, and the staff were so kind and attentive. Highly recommended!

Wedding Winter Wonderland
I cannot express how wonderful our wedding was at Gettysburg Hotel. We were hesitant to have a December date, but everything was so magical and surpassed all expectations. The ballroom is so beautiful, the food was fantastic, and the staff were so helpful in creating a great experience. Alaina is very helpful during the planning process, quick to respond to my many questions throughout it all. I do not have my professional photos back yet but cannot wait to see them with the gorgeous venue!!

Magical evening
My daughter got married just four days before Thanksgiving, and we couldn't have asked for a better venue. Alaina, the wedding coordinator, was a pleasure to work with. She was incredibly responsive, and we entrusted her with the decorating (we only provided the materials). She did an amazing job, transforming the space into something truly magical. Everything went smoothly, and we couldn’t have been happier. We’ll definitely consider the Hotel Gettysburg for the weddings of our other two children.

Gettysburg Hotel Made Gettysburg Grad Wedding Perfect!
The Gettysburg Hotel was the best venue we could have picked. The food was delicious, and they catered to all of the myriad allergies our family members have. With how beautiful the ballroom is and the included table decorations, we didn't need much extra decoration which saved us a lot of money and time. All of the staff were professional throughout the whole experience, with many of our guests complimenting their hard work. The catering sales manager Alaina Rineman was especially helpful, always answering our questions promptly and clearly communicating what the hotel needed to know and when. Getting to choose between different meal/drink packages as well as the cake baker made it really easy to customize the reception to meet our tastes and our budget. The wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception transitioned so smoothly, we didn't have to worry about a single thing. We'd highly recommend the hotel for a fun, beautiful day!

Incredible and Amazing
The Gettysburg hotel is the most perfect venue for a wedding, or even in our case, a wedding weekend! Alaina was our wedding coordinator, and she made sure that everything was absolutely perfect. The menu was amazing, and guest have continued to rave how incredible the food was. We were able to use the grand ballroom for cocktail hour, and dinner and reception, and it did not disappoint! everyone was so friendly, and went out of their way to make sure that our guest were happy, healthy, and had the best time. We feel that this could not have been more perfect, and everyone at the Gettysburg hotel went out of their way to make us feel as if we were VIP guest. Alaina took extra care to make sure that everything was absolutely perfect for us, and we went the entire weekend without any issues. It was just sheer perfection! I cannot recommend this vendor or Alaina enough to anyone who wants to get married, or just have a fun party. The hotel is historic, and has so many different features and options for guest.

Stunning venue and atmosphere!
We had the best time working with the Gettysburg Hotel. Alaina is FANTASTIC--she is accommodating, kind, genuine, and on the ball. She made planning a breeze. Our guests LOVED the small town feel and elegance of the ballroom. The BEST wedding food out there, too. We used many of their preferred vendors and have been receiving compliments from our guests for weeks since our big day. THANK YOU for hosting the most amazing day of our lives!

Perfect Venue and hotel
We got married in March 2023 and the Gettysburg Hotel was the perfect venue especially since March is tricky weather wise. The banquet room was spacious, and the food/drinks were great. Our guests were thankful they could just walk up to their rooms at the end of the night. Alaina was our coordinator, and she was awesome. So easy to work with, very responsive and accommodating. She also made sure we had everything we needed the day of. Highly recommend. We loved our wedding!

We highly recommend the Gettysburg Hotel as a wedding venue. The venue itself is beautiful , which for us was great, as we wanted to minimize decor costs. You also can't beat the location, as it's centrally located and within walking distance to lots of shops, restaurants, the battlefield etc. We also can't speak highly enough of the events manger and her staff. She kept us on track, was always available for question, and really made the planning process as seamless as it could be! With the exception of a few things ( flowers, DJ, Photographer), everything was included in the costs which also made planning that much easier.

Look no further! This is your dream venue!
When my husband and I started looking at wedding venues, we were all over the place. There are literally just so many choices in this area, but none that we really fell in love with. When we met Megan at the Gettysburg Hotel, it was like my husband and I immediately knew this was the place for our special day. Although the venue is absolutely stunning (that vault though), Megan was a HUGE factor in our decision. She was patient, kind, informative, and truly cared about our vision. She answered every single question I threw her way, and there were many, and was always willing to go the extra mile for us. I truly could not have gotten through the planning process without her. She made everything so easy for us!
When our wedding day finally came, Megan, the venue, the staff, and every single little detail exceeded our expectations. Megan and the staff completed all of our setup and tear down, so my husband and I could just focus on our special day. I truly felt like royalty the whole weekend.
If you are on the fence about taking a peek at the Gettysburg Hotel or reaching out to Megan, DO IT! Our day was absolutely perfect and I know it wouldn’t have been the same without this beautiful venue or awesome coordinator.

The Gettysburg Hotel was the absolute best venue we could have picked! The venue is beautiful and offers so many great locations for pictures! Everything is in one location: ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. Megan is so amazing to work with she made the entire planning process so seamless, answered all the questions that I had and is SO GOOD at her job. They have so many things already onsite it made planning so easy! They have a ton of local places they parter with such as DJs, photographers, cake bakers it really was a no brainer when deciding to choose The Gettysburg Hotel. If you're looking for a beautiful venue that takes so much stress off of the planning process for you this is the place for you. We had our daughter's wedding at the Gettysburg Hotel in the Grand Ballroom over the summer of 2021. Megan Wherley, the wedding coordinator, was amazing from start to finish. As mother of the bride, with a daughter out of state, Megan went above and beyond to answer all of our questions via zoom, phone, email or text messaging. Add a pandemic into the mix, she still helped to make a 2020 wedding, moved to 2021 due to the pandemic run smoothly. The staff, food, and overall organization of the entire event was flawless. Do you want a one stop shop with an amazing wedding coordinator? Then look no further. At first, I wasn't sure that I totally loved the Hotel as our venue, but the more we looked at different places and talked to different people, I fell in love. Megan was absolutely amazing and one of the main reasons we decided to book the Gettysburg Hotel. She answered all of my questions in a timely manner, was so professional and nice, and took so much stress out of the equation for us. The day of our wedding, we didn't have to set up a thing. She took our decorations and brought my vision to life. Compared to other venues, the hotel had the most bang for our buck. The food was absolutely delicious. We have received so many compliments about our wedding and all of the guests loved that they were downtown and had several options for dining and shopping over the weekend.

Christmas wedding made amazing
Megan and her team at the Hotel are fabulous!!! We had our ceremony and reception in the same room and they absolutely transformed the ballroom into something spectacular. Our guests said it was the best and most perfect wedding they have ever been to. Guests did not want to leave when it was over. We booked 14 guest rooms and reserved a room for a breakfast buffet the next day. Our wedding has literally been the talk around town and the talk among our friends. Everything stayed on point and made the night go by very quickly. The team at the Gettysburg Hotel will not disappoint you!!! Book your wedding there!!

1. It is right in the middle of town. Easy location for guest to find
2. You can get married in the hotel or at the train station
3. Apart of our package was having the honeymoon suite which was 100% more helpful then we thought it would be.

Perfect Venue
Everything at the hotel was perfect. The staff for weddings is phenomenal. They really know how to host a great wedding! They set up everything for us so all we had to worry about was bringing all the decorations and enjoying the weekend! The food was excellent, the atmosphere is beautiful, and our guests keep raving about our wedding. The hotel was the only venue we looked at during the planning process because the attention to detail (i won't spoil the little touches they provide when you tour) was so amazing, we didn't want to be disappointed with any other venue. Megan is truly an asset to the hotel and I hope they realize what a wonderful person they have coordinating and planning their wedding events. Casey, the banquet manager, is also so wonderful and kind.

Amazing Experience
Having a destination wedding, my biggest concern was how difficult it would be to plan everything from five hours away. Megan Wherley and the team at the Gettysburg Hotel quickly put my mind at ease. They could not have made the process easier! The communication with Megan was timely and thorough. She was dedicated to making sure our day was special and flawless. Not only did she work with us well, she built relationships with our vendors to ensure everything and everyone was where it needed to be. The venue itself was fantastic. We loved the historic element of the train station and reception hall (an old bank that still has the vault in the back). It made for some excellent pictures. Additionally, the building was well maintained and the hotel rooms were very comfortable. Honestly, I could not think of one thing we would have changed. Thanks to Megan, our wedding day was truly the best day of our lives.

I would absolutely recommend the Gettysburg Hotel as a wedding venue. Their customer service and the experience they provide their couples is above and beyond any other venue we looked at. A truly unforgettable wedding
I knew that I wanted to get married in a Gettysburg, but my husband needed a bit of coaxing. That’s what I told Megan when I met her in May of 2018 to tour the venue while I was out there for work, and to my shock she was more than understanding. We had been to Gettysburg a few times before for weekend vacations with my family and loved the area, but he was stuck on getting married in our home state of CT to accommodate more friends and family. After a few months of looking at venues near us, I finally convinced him to come and check out The Gettysburg Hotel and meet Megan with me on a Sunday and instantly he was hooked. Not only is the space perfect for a couple of history nerds like us, but Megan truly set us both at ease that day when we bombarded her with tons of questions and she had every answer. And it was nothing short of that for the next 10 months leading up to our wedding, especially not being local to the area and working with her to plan it from afar. Everything was done through email which was fantastic, and she juggled numerous silly questions and countless redundant emails from the both of us-ultimately leading to the absolutely perfect day in May for us to say I Do. If you are a newly engaged couple looking to have a memorable wedding experience I mean it when I say look no further than The Gettysburg Hotel. The value for the amount we paid was incomparable, the entire staff was so accommodating, the venue was incredibly amazing, the vendors they work with are truly wonderful, but it is really Megan who is a true star. Also, if you can, opt to have your ceremony on the historic train platform right behind the hotel, and get the ice cream bar for dessert- our guests are STILL raving over it!

Beautiful Intimate Brunch Reception
We had a small (approximately 40 guest) brunch reception at the Gettysburg Hotel in May 2019. The Hotel was able to accommodate our wedding on very short notice (about 3 months!) and bent over backwards to make our day as spectacular as it could be. From start to finish, every detail was attended to, from the napkin fold to the dismissal of guests to the brunch buffet. The Gettysburg Hotel is also extremely attentive to guests with food allergies or special diets, such as vegetarians. Megan, the Catering and Events Manager, was AMAZING! About a month before our wedding, they held a tasting for weddings and each bride-to-be went home with a door prize and had the ability to sample the different menu options. Megan handled everything for us and was so accommodating of all of our wishes. Since we had to leave immediately from the reception, the Hotel helped us to pack up our gifts and sent us away with some treats for the road. Overall, the Ballroom Venue was stunning, the Vault in the Ballroom was a hit, the food was AMAZING, and the staff were incredible. We could not have been happier with our day and our family members still keep raving to us that "That was the BEST wedding we have ever attended!"

My husband and I had the most spectacular and stress-free wedding day at the Gettysburg Hotel. It all started with the amazing professionalism and organizational skills from Megan Wherley. Starting early on in the planning process, she was so attentive to details and so helpful with any and all questions I had regarding the day. Megan and her staff were so easy to work with, so it made my job that much easier. I knew if Megan said she was going to take care of something, it would get done efficiently.
Megan was very in tune with my vision (which, by the way, was not very detailed) and she hit the nail on the head with the decor even with the little information I gave her. If you're unsure, just tell Megan to use her best judgement! It was also so helpful not to have to worry about my decor; I dropped it off the day before and it was all set up and taken down by the staff and organized for me to easily pack in my car the day after the wedding.
The wedding day itself was perfect. Megan helped coordinate our ceremony at the Train Station and made sure everything ran organized, smoothly and on time.
The dinner options were spectacular. The chef was also able to accommodate my guest with a food allergy. I remember looking at the food on the buffet table and knowing that my guests would not leave hungry! We used Jennifer from Main Street Sweets for our cupcakes and they were DELICIOUS! The details on the cupcakes were exactly what we had hoped for and our guests couldn't give enough compliments about the flavors.
Megan and her staff were so attentive to not only mine and my husband's needs during the reception, but also made sure our families and guests got the royal treatment as well. All of our guests complimented on the politeness and service of the staff during dinner and the reception.
At the end of the night, there were nice treats in our room to welcome us in for the evening, along with any presents that we received that night.
I cannot write enough about how amazing our ENTIRE experience was with the Gettysburg Hotel. It was truly a day that will NEVER be forgotten by us or our families and guests. I'd go through the wedding planning process and get married all over again!! Don't hesitate to contact Megan to enjoy the same great service!

My husband and I had a perfect wedding, stress free wedding day. I contribute this to Megan and her staff at The Gettysburg Hotel. When my husband and I started touring venues, we decided to visit the Gettysburg Hotel as a higher scale, upper end choice. Quickly my husband fell in love with the venue. The historical ballroom, the vault and location. I appreciated all the extras that the hotel offered with their package. I travel for my work and I knew that would cut into planning time. The hotel took care of a lot of the planning, the set-up, the tear down and clean up; for not just me and my husband but our wedding party and our families as well. We met with Megan about a month before the event to discuss our vision for the wedding, show her some of our decorations and talk about the timeline of the day. After we dropped off our décor to the venue prior to the event, I did not have to worry about a thing concerning the venue until the next day. Megan was so in tune with our vision that when we saw the decorations it was obvious she put as much thought and care into my wedding as we had. What really sold us on the Gettysburg Hotel was one of the tastings we went to. The food was amazing at the wedding. We had chef create a pesto potato that our guests were running around trying to see who had not eaten theirs yet! The Hotel works with two bakers and gives their wedding couples a cake stipend. We worked with Jennifer at Main Street Sweets. Her cupcakes were delightful! She allowed us 4 different cupcakes, a cake to cut, an anniversary cake, and a few gluten free cupcakes for my guests with that restriction. At the end of the night we had a bottle of champagne, two flutes and some fruit and our deserts waiting for us up in our room. This review cannot even begin to touch the gratitude I feel. My wedding was nothing short than wonderful. If you want the same, make an appointment and go talk to Megan.

I fell in love with the venue and knew it was where I wanted to get married, but working with Megan made everything better! Gettysburg Hotel helps you every step of the way while planning your wedding with multiple food tasting opportunities, showing what the table settings might look like, and walking through everything with you so there's no stress. Compared to other venues pricing and their all inclusive packages, this was definitely the way to go. Also appreciated the acceptance of us being Bride and Bride. Every single time I emailed Megan, which was a lot, or had any questions or changes, she responded immediately and fully and was the epitome of professional and thorough. Every part of our contract was laid out in detail and everything was fully explained and reviewed and Megan also assisted with finer details we hadn't thought of and was a supportive and friendly presence who didn't miss anything. she also was very flexible with her schedule at all times. the hotel had some awesome wedding vendor events and a lot of helpful tools to help us find vendors they have used in the past. we also had a very lovely tasting and tour which sealed the deal for us. The wedding package price also included a cake from an option of two bakers. Megan also taught us how to cut the cake. We went with Karen Rodkey, which was also the best choice, our guests are still gushing about our cake. I am so excited to have the top tier for our anniversary. We received so many compliments on everything, megan is an expert designer (it was beautiful and turned out better than I had envisioned) and has a great team and are very efficient at multi tasking. The cocktail hour and food during the cocktail hour was delicious. We had plated meal options of the citrus and horseradish encrusted salmon (amazing!) and chicken with fontina cream and tomato relish (equally as amazing) and a napoleon polenta as the veggie option. Everyone raved about the food). on point for those with allergies. hotel was very helpful with coordinating our entrances and exits and assisted with set ups. The bridal suite was gorgeous and in close proximity to the ballroom and also complimentary, with a beautiful fire place and jacuzzi tub. The hotel staff brought all our gifts to the room for us without us having to ask as well as took care of decorations and clean up as well. They also had a lovely spread and treats for us in the room for after the wedding for a very personable experience and a keep sake we can't wait to use. Hotel staff were also very helpful with any assistance or request. We love that Gettysburg is now a part of our history and had a great time at the location in the square. Megan and the Gettysburg hotel is the way to go!

Such a beautiful and historic venue! I was so happy with my experience here. Megan was great, we had some issues throughout our planning process and she handled them with grace and precision. Whether you were on a phone or had the professional photos done, they all came out looking great. Adding the uplighting really brought out the features of the reception space. Just very happy with how it all turned out and overall a very magical day for us.

Chuck and Megan were a joy to communicate and work with. The wedding of our daughter was going to be very interesting due to the fact she was away on tour for the three months leading up to the event. My wife acted as the liaison with Megan. I was sure due to these circumstances there would be many dropped details. I was pleasantly surprised how well the wedding and reception went. We have received so much positive feedback from all of the attendees about the location, the food and the overall atmosphere of the venue. Everyone involved was easy and comforting to communicate with, no details went unaddressed. The simplest of questions never went unanswered. Megan guided us through the process and had command of every situation.

My husband and I just got married on 9/8/18 at the Gettysburg Hotel. We had ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception in thehotel. We do not have enough good things to say about this venue. When we booked our contract, we started working with April Rose who was extremely helpful and didn't miss a detail. About 8 months before our wedding, April informed us she was leaving and Megan Wherley was taking over for weddings. I was a little nervous, but the transition was seamless. Megan often took time out of her non working hours to talk to us and made sure we were on the same page for everything. As someone who worries, I definitely did not need to. We went with preferred vendors to make our lives easier, and we were extremely pleased with how easily the vendors worked with the hotel to bring life to our dreams. Our wedding day was amazing and guests commented on how well everything was put together and how beautiful the venue was. Although historic, the decoration options to give the space your own flare are endless. The central location of the venue gave our out of town guests an opportunity to explore the historic areas of the town. another advantage is the hotel room block, which makes it easy for guests to book a hotel and not have to worry about more traveling. I would not hesitate to suggest this to any couple who is looking for an all inclusive venue with endless options. Our day was more perfect than we could have imagined, thanks to the Gettysburg Hotel.

Raining 2+ inches an hour, thier vows were being exchanged, and as mother of the bride, I wasn’t worried about it thing! Megan at the Gettysburg Hotel was in charge, and I was free to show up at the party of a lifetime, unphased by anything, not even torrential rain.
My husban and I arrived at the Gettysburg hotel, and stepped into the cocktail hour. Drinks were being enjoyed by our closest and dearest family and friends, crisply uniformed servers passed delicious food, the bride and groom, smiling from ear to ear. Over a year of planning and now, this most important event, was running like a top.
As we passed a round table set like spokes in a wheel, warmly lit with candles, place cards and photos of family brides and grooms smiled at us from weddings long ago. And as we stepped into the ballroom, Megan at my side, I couldn’t have been more pleased. The tables were perfectly set, the cake and candy table, a work of art! Megan has skill and an eye for perfection. In my opinion, she has abilities that would be welcome in the finer hotels of NY or DC.
The night went off without a hitch, the ballroom was softly and romantically lit, the food was really good, the servers were on thier game and a young marriage was ushered off to a wonderful beginning.
Thank you to Megan Wherley, Catering and Events Manager at the Gettysburg Hotel, and to the wonderfully competent staff to whom I wish I could name individually.

Our wedding was Monday July 9th at the Gettysburg hotel and everything was beyond perfect the entire experience was amazing our wedding planner Megan was absolutely fantastic and so great and fun to work with the bridal tasting event they do was a great experience to get to taste and see all the food beforehand was a nice touch the hotel provided us a bridal sweet for the night before and the night of the wedding which was great the food was fantastic everyone told us it was one of the best steaks they ever had the whole staff was amazing the wait staff and even the bartender we had was great and like I said before working with megan was so great she even recommended someone to alter my wife's dress met with us several times and who knows how many phone calls and emails she always made us feel like a priority which was great we very much enjoyed and appreciated everyone at the hotel for all there hard work making out day so very very special would recommend them to anyone looking for a place to have there wedding

My husband and I could not have been any happier with having our wedding reception at the Gettysburg Hotel. When we began the wedding planning process, we were hesitant to visit the Hotel, as it was a bit far from the ceremony. After visiting however, we instantly knew it was the place. Having visited several potential reception locations already, we were blown away by how much was included and taken care of by the Gettysburg Hotel. Their level of assurance in taking care of so many details instantly put me at ease and I knew that it would be much less for me to worry about.I had decided to do a lot of the reception decorations myself and the day before the wedding when I gave everything to Megan and explained my vision for the ballroom, she took that vision and made it look a thousand times more beautiful! The food was perfect and they were wonderful with working through dietary needs and even personal preferences from some of the guests. They provided a cake from Karen Rodkey Cakes that was both beautifully designed and delicious. Finally, they thought of little things, like having cake, a bottle of champagne and a selection of food up in our honeymoon suite for the end of the time. Our reception could not have run more seamlessly and I know that it was due to Megan and the rest of her staff's impeccable behind-the-scene coordination. I would strongly recommend the Gettysburg Hotel for any couple that wants a beautiful, memorable, stress-free experience for a great value.

The Gettysburg Hotel ensured that my wedding reception was absolutely perfect. When I asked for the temperature to be turned down they very quickly accommodated me. Everything was perfect and Megan went over all of the details with me to ensure that I didn't have to worry about a thing on my big day. When they allowed me and my husband to go into the ballroom to get a sneak preview it was everything we could have dreamed of. Prior to the big day, they always communicated with me and answered every single one of my questions. I loved the bridal show too because we found a lot of our vendors through this!

My husband and I had our wedding this past July. When we first started planning our wedding, we had an idea of what we wanted but just could not find it. That was until we went to the Gettysburg Hotel. From the moment we walked in the door, just to view it, we were blown away with how professional, caring and wonderful this hotel truly is. We knew that day that we could not possibly have our wedding anywhere else. I knew from the moment I met Megan and then April, that I could trust them to make sure our wedding day was perfect. And from someone who is naturally a perfectionist that was a HUGE deal. Not only, did April accommodate all of our requests but helped plan every step of the way. She made sure of wedding day went perfectly!! We can never thank her enough for how truly wonderful she is and how special she made us feel.
The hotel itself is gorgeous and right in the center of Gettysburg. My husband and I were going for a vintage, elegant theme and could not have found anything more perfect. The staff is friendly and at the top of their game. The food is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!! Our wedding day was worth every penny!! We would not change one thing about our wedding day and the 5 star service The Gettysburg Hotel provided every step of the way. Though, it has been months since our wedding, we are still hearing that our wedding was the best wedding any of our guests have EVER been to!!

We just had our wedding 2 weeks ago on December 1, 2017 at the Gettysburg Hotel. I can not say enough positive things about our entire experience with the wedding. From booking, to planning, to the wedding...it was an extremely pleasant experience. April Rose is a wedding coordinating rockstar. A few weeks after booking our wedding last year, my husband (fiancé at the time) was diagnosed with Leukemia at 36 years old. Needless to say...our life was up in the air and the wedding details to us had taken a back burner. I reached out to April to inform her of our situation and that I most likely would be a lunatic bride. Every single time I emailed April or had an impulsive last minute question, she responded so quickly with answers and the loveliest sense of humor that put a smile on my face. She truly is a top notch person, as well as a top-notch professional. Every part of our contract was laid out in detail and explained so that we knew exactly what to expect on our big day. I recommend trying out one of the hotel's wedding tasting events, as we were able to try every dish offered, as well as meet various local vendors who have experience working with the hotel. The wedding package we had included a cake from an option of two bakers. We went with Karen Rodkey and the cake was amazing. We received so many compliments. The cocktail hour and food during the cocktail hour was delicious. We had plated meal options of the beef, chicken and vegetable strudel. Everyone raved about the food! And we had a pretty vocal and opinionated group as our guests. A few guests have allergies or food aversions and the hotel wait staff and kitchen didn't miss a beat when it came to plating the specific people appropriately. With all the build up and pressure of planning your wedding, the right venue and coordinator can truly make all the difference. I am so beyond thankful that we got to work with the Gettysburg Hotel and April. The hotel itself is beautiful, and can accommodate weddings of all sizes. They even helped organize and set up our ceremony at the train station next door! We were able to have almost all of our out of town guests stay upstairs which made for a really comfortable trip for our friends and family. April made sure everything ran smoothly. I am a perfectionist and she met my very high expectations. Being so on top of everything, I felt that I could really trust her and it allowed me to relax. The little details were all taken care of and April did not miss a beat. When I did have questions or concerns, she was super responsive and even took care of a few last minute errands for me. I cannot reiterate enough how happy we are with our wedding, our venue, and especially the Hotel's wedding coordinator April. Do yourself a favor and book this venue!

I honestly can’t say enough amazing things about our wedding at the Gettysburg Hotel and working with April Rose. We had a lot of big ideas and wants for our big day and I can honestly say they delivered on everything. We held our cocktail hour at the Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad Station and the Reception in the Ballroom. Everything from the service to the food was more than we could have ever hoped for. We also had a ton of out-of-town guests and ended up taking up almost half the rooms at the hotel and it was so convenient having everyone stay right where the event happened. People also raved about the hotel and loved being right downtown. Working with the hotel and specifically April was such a smooth process and we could not have been happier with how it all turned out. I had my wedding reception at the Gettysburg Lincoln Railroad Station on 6/28/2017 catered by the Gettysburg Hotel. First a little background, we are in our 60s, and this is our first marriage. We have been together many years. So we really weren't into the fanfare, we were looking for a great experience for our guests and the opportunity to share this really joyous time---- no photographer and no big center pieces etc. I brought some fresh flowers which the wedding planner made into beautiful center pieces, and the wedding planner took photos (knowing I would want some later). The wait staff was WONDERFUL the food was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Thank you, thank you Gettysburg Hotel for making this event SO JOYOUS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I had my wedding reception at the Gettysburg Hotel on 7/15/17 and couldn’t possibly be happier with my choice. The ballroom (with a VAULT!) is lovely, and the staff does an amazing job at taking all the stress out and leaving the fun. April Rose was incredibly helpful while my husband and I jointly planned a long-distance wedding from Alaska and Hawaii!
Aside from the quality of the location itself, the best part about the Gettysburg Hotel is that this is a one-stop-shop that handles as many or as few of the details as you'd like. It was nice not to have to coordinate a cake and a caterer and everything else in between. And the cake package was phenomenal -- Karen Rodkey's cake was divine. The groom and I received numerous compliments from a very discerning DC crowd who were all very impressed at the service.

My son and his lovely bride (I'm FOTG) trusted their wedding to the Gettysburg Hotel. We could not be more pleased! The wedding planner, April, was organized, professional, personable, flexible, and has lots of experience helping couples and families with their weddings. She knew how important this special event was for our kids and did everything possible to make things run smoothly. She was "everywhere" on both rehearsal night and the wedding day! April is certainly one of the biggest plusses for this venue.
As FOTG, we decided to have our rehearsal dinner in the hotel because everything would be in one place and easy for our guests from out of town. The food was excellent (crab cake - yum, and a chicken dish), Everyone raved about the meal. The hotel provided a projection device - free of charge for a presentation!
The "One Lincoln" bar and restaurant offer a cozy spot for post event meet ups. The bar and wait staff there are excellent and aim to please. On rehearsal night and wedding night many of the event guests wound up at One Lincoln to keep the party going!
The hotel is really neat. Owned by Gettysburg College, is is circa 1797. It has been modernized and rooms are elegant and BIG! Located on the square there are many restaurants and bars within walking. The battle field and visitor center are also close by.
The wedding venue is a neat bank that was purchased and repurposed for special events. We had 150+ guests but could hold more if necessary. Large dance floor. Great food - wedding was a buffet. Worked with us to personalize and save money. Wedding and reception held in same room...cocktails/appetizers in large outer lobby while staff quickly rearranged a part of the banquet facility. Excellent once again.
Elegant, fair price, great service, awesome coordinator, neat venue, very nice accommodations - nothing but praise from attendees. You can't miss here! Dollar amount is for rehearsal dinner with open bar.

I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Gettysburg Hotel on 5/6/17 and couldn’t possibly be happier with my experience. The beauty of this historic venue is the perfect setting for a wedding, and the staff does an amazing job at making sure your day is as seamless and carefree as possible. From the beginning, the Hotel staff led by April Rose makes sure to arrange a package that fits your budget and vision for your day. A deciding factor in us choosing this venue was the fact that we could do both the ceremony and reception at the same venue, making it more convenient for guests, and eliminating some issues with coordination. After booking, April is there to answer all of your questions and make recommendations. In my opinion, the best part about the Gettysburg Hotel, is that this is a one-stop-shop that handles all of the details, leaving you (the bride and groom) to enjoy the day. April and her team set up all of my decorations perfectly, exactly as I had asked, and at the end of the night packaged everything with care so that the next day all I had to do was pick up the boxes. During the ceremony and reception itself, April and your designated wedding maître d’ expertly coordinate everything, making sure the events flow effortlessly and seeing to it that you are always happy, with drinks in hand and the food you need. I received numerous compliments during and after the wedding about not only the gorgeous venue of the Grand Ballroom, but also the high level of service provided from all of the staff including servers, the bartender, and everyone in between. Plus, quite importantly, the food and drinks were all outstanding. The attention to detail of everyone involved with each element is impressive. I could go on and on, but ultimately the Gettysburg Hotel understands that time and stress involved with planning a wedding, and what they do is take that stress off, ensuring that you have a beautiful, stress-free wedding day that is exactly what YOU want.

We had our wedding and reception in the Grand Ballroom at the Gettysburg Hotel in April of 2017. We were engaged in December of 2016 and had little time to plan and finalize all of our details. In the few short months that we had, working with April made those months very enjoyable and stress free. The vendor recommendations she had were great, the accommodations provide by both April and the hotel for planning our wedding and reception were exceptional down to the detail. As a bride, I cannot express my gratitude enough for everything the hotel and April did for us. It will be a day we will forever remember with joy and happiness. So much so we plan to come back for our 5 year anniversary to stay at the hotel and tour additional spots that we were recommended by the Gettysburg Hotel staff.

When my husband and I were first researching venues, we were not entirely sure what we wanted. We decided to go look at the Gettysburg Hotel since we are in the Gettysburg area frequently. We were in love the moment we walked into the grand ballroom. We knew that this was the place we were going to get married. From the moment we started working with Meghan and April (later on in the planning process), we knew that we had made the right choice. We were married on October 15, 2016 and the evening could not have been more beautiful. Our ceremony was held at the Lincoln Railroad Station and the reception was in the grand ballroom of the hotel. The food was amazing, the lighting was perfect, our vendors were fantastic, and best of all, April was able to bring my wedding vision to life. My husband and I could not have been happier with the way our wedding day turned out. April is a dream to work with and the vendors you meet from the tasting event at the hotel are wonderful as well. I highly recommend putting the Gettysburg Hotel at the top of your venue list!!

We cannot say enough positive things about our recent wedding at the Gettysburg Hotel! We began our relationship working with Megan. From the start, the approach of planning was done with the passion and attention to detail we were looking for. With both of us living in the Northern Virginia area, we wanted a place to not only serve as a beautiful venue to showcase our Art Deco Disney Theme, but also provide a one stop shop to avoid the constant communication between various vendors.
After our first visit, we knew the Hotel was our venue! The fact that everything was included in the price was huge! During the last few months of our planning, April came on to take over for Megan for the remainder of the wedding, and the transition could not have been more seamless. April wasted no time getting up to speed with our vision for the wedding and details to follow, helping prep all the necessary details, including working our other vendors to make sure everything was ready for the big day. As for the day of, we honestly cannot think of anything negative to say. April was there when needed, keeping everything moving on schedule, making sure guests were taken care of, and vendors were up to speed. The amount of guests who came up to us during and after the wedding to express how wonderful everything was made everything worth it!

I can't say enough about how great the Gettysburg Hotel is! They pulled out all of the stops from the very first meeting. We fell in love with the fact that we could have our ceremony at the train station, reception in the ballroom, and all of our guests could stay the night all in the same space. We were blown away by Megan's professionalism and knowledge. When Megan changed positions in the hotel mid way through our planning I was worried about how everything was going to work out. April jumped right in and nothing skipped a beat! She was great about responding to any questions I had and she made sure i had everything I needed. Our day went off without a hitch and everyone had a blast. People are still talking about the crab cakes! I highly recommend this venue!

My dream wedding came true at the Gettysburg Hotel. When I first was looking for venues, we were unsure about looking at Gettysburg because we were afraid of the price. But they were absolutely incredible about working with our budget. The very first meeting we were greeted by the Coordinator at the time, Megan, with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries. As a bride, I felt so special. They showed us tons of dinner items, both buffet and sit down. They worked with our budget and helped us create our own menu that worked for everyone. The staff from start to finish was incredible. My wedding came together like any bride hopes and imagines it will. The new wedding Coordinator, April, was also a pleasure to work with. She accommodated every request, and helped with every detail. I will always remember my wedding night being the most magical night of my life, and Gettysburg Hotel was a huge reason why. The ballroom was incredibly gorgeous, and it fit our huge wedding! The vault and ceiling inside the ballroom are beautiful! The food was delicious and again, the staff was so nice and they made my guests very happy!! Overall, my husband and I couldn't have asked for a better place to have our wedding.

An amazing place full of wonderful people made our day unforgettable! Thank you to the wonderful staff at the Gettysburg Hotel for their kindness and professionalism on our wedding day. We selected the hotel because of Megan Wherley and the way she presented not only the venue, but also herself. She was so professional, took her time with us, answered every question with poise and grace and even went so far as to give us a discount on our dinner for the evening (we were also celebrating our dating anniversary that same night) AND made sure to stop by our table and give me my first wedding magazine! We were sold! Every step on our planning journey was easier because of Megan and April. We had such an amazing experience and the attention to detail was unbelievable. Our experience with The Gettysburg Hotel was so positive! I have been bursting with joy at how well our daughter’s wedding plans and wedding day went. And most importantly, our daughter told us her wedding was “exactly” what she and her new husband wanted it to be.
Starting with Megan Wherley and later with April Rose (the event coordinators at the Hotel), we had only positive interactions from start to finish. Both of these girls were incredibly personable and professional. We loved them.
On that same note, we have to compliment all the staff at the Hotel. Our daughter and I cannot stop talking about how delightful everyone was. The lobby desk personnel were amazing as were the servers and bartender at the reception. All treated us like special, honored guests and were as friendly with us as if we were family. Our photographer literally took over the Lobby and the staff and guests joined in the fun by watching, smiling, and laughing. Not a single person displayed annoyance or impatience with us. They joined in the fun! We were/are so gratified.
It was important to us to have a nice, sit down meal. We were not disappointed. Most of the guests chose the filet mignon. OMG, you know the comment, “You could cut it with a butter knife” , well we could!
Also, The Gettysburg Hotel and the town itself was the perfect location/venue for this event. There are statues, diners with historic character, The Majestic Theater, the train station and much more within walking distance. We are so anxious to see the professional photographer's photos documenting the event. The photos we took are gorgeous.
We want others to know that The Gettysburg Hotel staff exceeded our expectations in every way.

We cannot say enough about how wonderful it was to have our wedding at the Gettysburg Hotel! From planning to execution, everything was such a dream, their staff was wonderful and Megan was a dream! We couldn't ask for a better group to help us with our big day! We would recommend this venue to anyone searching in the Gettysburg area.
The food options available to us were great, we had both the wedding reception and the rehearsal dinner there, very tasty! We loved planning every detail with Megan, she took all of our ideas and made them a reality. The day before the wedding, we brought all of our decor items to the hotel and Megan and her team used them all to make a beautiful scene in the ballroom. We provided some direction and she was able to execute using our ideas and improving upon them.
Hotel rooms for guests and family were great, they appreciated having them so close to the reception space. Gettysburg is such a fun town to host a large event like a wedding, our guests loved exploring the town during their stay and in between the church ceremony and the reception.

To begin, our wedding weekend was beyond perfect & the entire staff at Gettysburg especially our Events Manager Megan were extremely helpful, polite, & accomodating. First, we attended the hotel's food tasting & the food options were plentiful and we were given a tour of the hotel and honeymoon suite. After booking, we worked closely with Megan concerning every aspect of the planning process. She was very responsive to all of the questions & concerns and was available by phone or email. The most important part of the planning process was the run through we were able to complete with Megan where she talked us through the entire process and addressed any follow-up questions we had a few weeks before the wedding. Fast forward, Megan was there during the enter ceremony and worked to make sure everything ran well the entire evening. Our ceremony took place at the historical train station behind the hotel. After taking our pictures Megan escorted my husband & I to the ballroom to take our first look at the reception. Before the reception our wedding party was accommodated well; they were provided hors d'oeuvre in a separate room away from the rest of our guests. Throughout the reception the entire staff was helpful & responsive. We chose our DJ from their preferred vendors list, Great Scott Productions, & our DJ Mark was on top of everything & entertaining. At the end of the night Josh & I made it to the honeymoon suite & were met with our favorite food from the wedding & a set of wine glasses with a personal card addressed to us which almost made me cry lol. Overall our experience was awesome, having our wedding & reception here was so fun & memorable. Til this day our family still raves about the hotel, the town, & the food. We sincerely thank everyone at The Gettysburg Hotel for their help, patience, & customer service.

The Gettysburg Hotel provided the perfect location for our ceremony and wedding. It's historic charm and friendly staff were so great to work with. I met Megan prior to booking the hotel and was so impressed with how responsive and caring she was about our wedding. She was interested in the details and made me feel so comfortable that everything would be just the way I envisioned. She was flexible and easy to work with. When looking for venues we knew we wanted to have our reception at a hotel to make it convenient for not only us but our guests as well. The Gettysburg Hotel offered that and so much more! Everything at the Gettysburg Hotel was fantastic from the moment we said "go!" Megan was amazing and helped in so many ways, from assisting with our food and beverage selections, to setting up the gorgeous ballroom (including candy buffet!), to making sure everything went off without a hitch on the day of (She even went so far as to help me down the stairs and into my car in my giant gown on the way to our ceremony!). She stayed in constant contact, checking in to see that we were satisfied every step of the way. Andrea was also a huge help. We ran into some challenges booking rooms (Our entire guest list decided to stay at the Hotel!), and Andrea and Megan smoothed everything over and made some moves that got everyone a room who needed one. From the beauty and history of the venue to the courteousness and professionalism of the staff, our experience with the Gettysburg Hotel was as close to perfect as one could ever hope to get. My husband and I owe Megan and her team a great debt of gratitude for helping make our big day the most memorable of our lives. I can't say enough great things about our experience there. If you're planning a wedding in or around Gettysburg, PA, the Gettysburg Hotel should be at the top of your list!

No amount of praise would be too great to describe my and my wife's experience having our ~ 160 guest wedding this past August at the Gettysburg Hotel. From beginning to end, Megan Wherley (Events Manager), Andrea Proulx (Director of Sales/Marketing) and their entire team were nothing short of remarkable. Sure, my wife and I (both unabashed history nerds - and New Jersey residents) initially chose the Gettysburg Hotel because of its location, historical significance, and obvious physical beauty. What we didn't anticipate was also being treated to the most enjoyable professional experience we've ever had (or will likely ever have) in any industry. Truly, Megan and Andrea's (tireless) willingness to assist our experience in every conceivable way, with every last detail, at every stage of the proceedings, was un--real.
On the more practical side of the analysis, if you take the time to do some proper number crunching, and account for ALL likely costs, you should also discover that the pricing at GH is more reasonable/competitive then you may initially think (with dozens of different price points and packages to choose from). For example, my wife and I originally priced out having our wedding at a renovated barn outside of town with caterers, etc. After accounting for ALL likely costs (and choosing packages that accommodated our specific, self-funded budget), GH was actually a few dollars less expensive per guest. I know, who knew?
All in all, if your short list for wedding/reception location considerations includes "value," "professionalism," and "quality," I cannot more strongly recommend the Gettysburg Hotel. It was genuinely the experience of a lifetime (without soliciting opinions, many of our guests have said so too). And if you do decide to have your wedding/reception at GH, kindly invite the wife and I. We'd jump at the chance to do it all over again ;)

Everything about The Gettysburg Hotel was wonderful! It was very convenient having the hotel rooms available for guests to book. Everyone was pleased with their rooms. The group tasting was fabulous. It Not only allowed for tasting of food selections, but it also allowed you to mingle with vendors. Megan was fabulous! She was willing to help with anything and everything, and she always responded promptly to questions and emails. The entire reception was very easy to plan. Megan was flexible and allowed us to tweak and do things to our liking/personalities. Everything ran smoothly and on schedule. The wait staff was very professional and attentive to all guests. I would not have changed anything about our wedding reception, and we would love to do it all over again!

The guestrooms and the ballroom is beautiful and there are a variety of packages designed to fit every budget and style (and they work with you to customize the package if needed) but what really sold this place to my family and I was Megan and the rest of the staff. They are beyond fabulous. Megan is organized, friendly, creative and prompt; every detail was handled with careful precision and professionalism. I never had to worry about things falling between the cracks or things falling apart a the last minute. She also recommended wonderful vendors (each of whom I also adore). I could fully enjoy the night, mingle with guests and take everything in without worrying about a single detail... a nice reprieve for any bride! They say that something wrong happens at every wedding BUT that was not the case at my wedding/rehearsal dinner... it went off without a hitch thanks to Megan and the team at Gettysburg. I got a lot of compliments about the venue, the food, the service and the overall elegance of everything. Karen Rodkey (contracted to the hotel for the wedding cake) was wonderful as well. The cake was equally beautiful and delicious. This is the perfect environment for any event and it was literally a dream come true in every way.

The Gettysburg Hotel and Megan Wherley were absolutely wonderful to work with. The entire staff was very friendly and helpful. Megan was a godsend as we worked to plan our wedding from 2 time zones away. She walked us through the entire process, answered our never-ending barrage of questions, and coordinated the entire ceremony and reception so I didn't have to micromanage or worry. It was great to just breeze through my wedding day and enjoy every minute of it. Megan also took time out of her busy schedule to give my mother a tour when her friends surprised her with a trip to Gettysburg to see it all before the wedding. The food at the Gettysburg Hotel is delicious. We had the hardest time deciding what to serve at our reception because it was all so delicious. Also, the cake is included in the cost of the reception and is made by Karen Rodkey. Best pound cake of my life. Megan was also able to work to get some of our favorite beers in for our wedding that are not on their regular reception choices. That was a really special touch. The Gettysburg Hotel has a great list of preferred vendors and worked well with the vendors we chose outside of that list well too. In addition, the staff was also able to guide us out-of-towners to great food recommendations, rehearsal dinner space, etc. The entire facility is beautiful and unique and our reception and ceremony turned out beautifully! The bridal suite was huge and comfortable and the treats after our big day were a great touch. The bridal suite was actually big enough for me and my ladies to get ready in together. All of our guests who stayed in the hotel reported wonderful accommodations and appreciated that they kept the bar open late for our after party. I could not have chosen a better venue. It was completely worth every penny and cost-effective in my opinion. They really know how to throw a worry-free wedding!

Rivals any venue that a major metropolitan area can offer. Excellent value. The food was prepared perfectly and was served warm which is quite an accomplishment as many times at a large event with many guests the food may look wonderful when it is served but it is lukewarm to cold. Professional staff that were helpful, friendly, knowledgeable, flexible, accommodating, and courteous. Lovely décor throughout the hotel which is also extremely clean. If I had more children, I would strongly encourage them to use this venue for a wedding reception. If I am in a position in the future to host another large crowd, I would definitely use The Gettysburg Hotel. Loved this experience which I was secretly dreading.

Working with Megan at the Gettysburg Hotel was seamless. She "reserved" our event date months before we were even able to preview the hotel. To be honest, we felt very out-of-place walking into this beautiful hotel; and we literally agreed amongst ourselves to take the tour of the venue as a courtesy to Megan for scheduling our visit so far in advance. But Megan was so warm and welcoming that as we were walkng out of the hotel, we knew this was the venue for the wedding reception. It was the only place we considered. Though the cost may seem high, it was clear that to piece-meal a reception would have added up to the same cost and would have included a lot more work. Having the reception at the hotel was stress-free! Megan was GREAT to work with. Many of our guests made a point to tell us that they absolutely loved the reception at the Gettysburg Hotel! Thank you so much for a great evening!

My husband and I are very excited about how personalized we were able to make our wedding reception. We had been warned about vendors being controlling, but the Gettysburg Hotel was not that way at all. The Hotel and staff were extremely easy to work with, very professional and friendly; the experience was virtually stress-free! Weeks later, our families and friends are still raving about the beautiful set-up and the delicious food. I had a lot of fun planning with the Hotel and enjoyed everything about my reception there.

It was a pleasure to have worked with Megan Wherley and the Gettysburg Hotel. Being from Portugal we had no idea how to get started and Megan was there every step of the way to help us. No matter what our questions were Megan was extremely professional and great with communication. The ballroom is beyond breathtaking. With high ceilings with intricate detailing everywhere you look there is beauty. The vault adds a fun extra space to allow yourself to use your creativity as you wish. We used it for a lounge and a place for guests to leave their cards, presents, and sign our guest book. Working with Megan was a wonderful and stress free experience. I only had to drop off my decorations before the wedding and then I could relax. On the day of the wedding my husband and I were given a first look at the ballroom and instantly it took my breath away and I teared up. Megan and her staff went above and beyond the call of duty and truly gave us a fairytale reception. Our family and friends flew in from all across the US and said that their stay at the hotel was amazing. They loved the delicious food (we were able to customize and even add a Portuguese traditional appetizer!) and loved how beautiful the ballroom and the Hotel were. Our cake was included in the venue price and was beyond delicious. Karen Rodkey is a delight to work with and takes pride in her baking. You can tell that she is passionate about her cakes because every layer was moist and delicious! My husband and I were treated to an amazing complimentary honeymoon suite where a cheese platter, champagne with glasses, and two slices of our wedding cake were waiting. They also wrapped the top tier of our wedding cake so that it was easily stored in the freezer for our one year anniversary. The following day all we had to do was pick up our decorations which had been nicely stacked and saved for us. Easy and stress free. That is what our wedding day was like, easy and stress free.

As the parents of the bride, and the day's hosts, we cannot say enough about the quality of the service and the commitment of the event staff at the Gettysburg Hotel. Megan Wherely, the event planner/coordinator at the hotel, was very professional and responsive from our first meeting months before the wedding through her follow-up after the event. As the date of the wedding approached, Megan was available at a moment's notice to answer our questions and provide reassurance and guidance. On the day of the wedding, every detail in planning came to life just as we had hoped it would. Every aspect of the day, from the cocktail hour through the very last goodbye, was flawless! Not only are Megan's efforts to be commended, but also to be commended are the efforts of the entire banquet staff. We cannot say enough about Christina and her efforts to make sure the reception went off without a hitch. For that matter, she seemed to save the day when the bustle of the bride's dress failed and we needed a huge safety pin to take her dress up so she could continue to dance the day away. Christina made that safety pin appear seemingly out of nowhere! We know that our guests loved every minute of the event and we heard many comments about the loveliness of the venue, the superb quality of the food, and the scrumptious cake! The staff did not miss a single detail and might I add, thought of little details about which we may not have given a single thought. At the end of it all, the bride turned to me and said, "Mom, this day was more wonderful than I even dreamed it could be!" Certainly the words every parent wants to hear! By way of this review, we want to extend our sincere thanks to Megan Wherely and the entire event staff. The Gettysburg Hotel is truly blessed to have this fine staff working so hard to make other's dreams come true!

We were looking for a venue where the reception and the hotel rooms were one in the same and also a place that was close to attractions for our guests. The Gettysburg Hotel was perfect! The hotel was recently renovated and is in excellent condition. It is located directly on the square of Gettysburg with lots of attractions in walking distance. Even the courthouse was a short walk away and we received our license on Wednesday and got married on Saturday and it saved us a trip to the area (we are from out of town) so it worked out perfect!
The large and elegant ballroom was to die for! It was a beautiful backdrop for photos and with plenty of room for guests (about 180) and did not feel crowded at all. Everyone was on the dance floor the entire night and it was great! The cocktail hour was right outside the ballroom with lots windows and natural light.
Megan was FANTASTIC! to work with and made planning a breeze. If you want an elegant venue that covers the details this is your place.

We knew we wanted to get married in Gettysburg and had our eye on the hotel for quite awhile. It is beautiful inside & out, not to mention the hisorical value. After our first meeting with Megan we were 100% sold. She was very flexible as far as meeting with us when we had time. We later attended a bridal tasting at the hotel where we decided on the vendors we wanted to use (not necessary but so helpful for a busy bride-to-be). It was so nice to meet the preferred vendors at the venue, it made us feel very comfortable as they were already familiar with the hotel & Megan; it just made the who planning process seamless. We also were able to taste all of the amazing meal options and see a few samples of the beautiful cakes (included in wedding package). As the year of planning progressed we were in touch with Megan each time we had a question or concern. She was so excellent in communicating with us and was quick to respond. Our rehearsal dinner was fabulous and our wedding day could not have gone more smoothly. We had pictures taken in the college room, out back and also around the square in front of the hotel. We were married in the ballroom and after the cocktail hour the ballroom was ready for the reception. We supplied a ton of candy for our wedding favors & I have no idea how it would have looked had I put it together but Megan took the task on and I could not have been more pleased with how it turned out. The food was fantastic and each of our 100+ guest have commented on how elegant and perfect the wedding was.

Quality: The main event coordinator at the hotel, Megan Wherley, is incredibly thoughtful, thorough, professional, and ready for anything. She was with us 100% of the way during all the preparations, and on the day of she made sure things ran smoothly. Also, the regular staff of the hotel that served during the reception hours were so polite and considerate!
Responsiveness: Megan Wherley gave us not only her email address, but also her cell number so we could call or text her about anything we had questions about :)
Professionalism: Everybody we met at the hotel was so kind and professional--all of the staff were professional
Flexibility: We didn't end up doing it, but even when we were last minute considering switching the day of the wedding itself, Megan was on our side and ready to make the emergency change happen if it needed to. Talk about flexibility!

When we began planning our wedding, all we wanted was something small and inexpensive. We decided to hit a few bridal shows to see what kind of ideas we could steal! The bridal show at the Gettysburg hotel was probably the fourth or fifth show in the York/Adams county area that we attended. The minute I walked in, I was in love! The place was gorgeous and I saw some of the pricing and it shocked me because it didn’t seem like much! I thought there had to be a catch. My now husband convinced me to meet with the wedding coordinator, Megan. I went up to her at the show and instantly she gave me a tour, showed me the honeymoon suites, and went over pricing with us. I could not believe how inexpensive it would be to hold our wedding there. It was honestly not much more than if we rented a hall and did it ourselves. And this way, we didn’t have to set up, tear down and I couldn’t believe everything that price covered. Every step of the way Megan made herself available to us. She was an amazing help and she went over and beyond what I was expecting! She handled everything perfectly and I still can’t believe the support she gave us!The day before the wedding was one of the hardest days I’ve had in a long time. I was stressed to the max, had a health issue pop up that day, everything was going wrong and was in a horrible state of mind. I met up with Megan that night to give her our décor and for the rehearsal dinner, and the instant I started talking to her I calmed down. She talked with me, took charge and made everything so much better. She’s amazing because she has a way of just talking to her and I trust her so much!
One of our biggest fears was that we had a small wedding, by choice. We had 56 people and that included the 13 people in our wedding party. I was afraid the room would look empty. They placed everything perfectly; they even made a lounge in the reception with tables and chairs to take up more room. It was absolutely perfect!

We were married March 21st and used the Gettysburg Hotel for our reception. Our event was top notch. As cliche as it sounds honestly all of our hopes ans dreams came true . You know you choose the right location for your wedding, when you walk into the hotel and you are treated like family. Even after a month when returning for a weekend getaway we were remembered and treated like old friends. Everyone we worked with stayed on the same page, worked together without issues and helped use to create our perfect wedding day!

I cannot express how AWESOME The Gettysburg Hotel and its staff were for our wedding! We held our reception in the grand ballroom.
During our initial meeting, Megan gave us a tour of the Hotel, the ballroom, and showed us guest rooms. We all sat in the Hotel's bar, which is elegant, comfortable and contemporary. We were offered complementary champagne, chocolate covered strawberries and a personalized congratulatory chocolate bar while we reviewed package options for our reception.
The Hotel offers several packages at varying prices, which makes it easy to fit into your budget. Moreover, there are multiple ways you can further customize the menu, desert, and cocktail hour. There are also several different bar packages. The cake was provided by Karen Rodkey and was included as part of each package. Needless to say, we were able to find the space we wanted, with the feel we wanted, with most everything under one roof! It was seamless. Megan was extremely helpful and flexible throughout the entire process. She stayed in excellent communication up until, during, and after our event. There was no stone left unturned. The hotel provided two choices of linens as part of the package and even had hurricane globe centerpieces you could use if you wanted. Megan also provided us with a list of recommended vendors for DJ, flowers, photographer, etc. That was a great starting point for us since we are not Gettysburg locals.
The night of also was seamless, despite the 6 or so inches of snow which fell throughout the day! Megan and her staff took all of our decorations we had planned and set them up for us. We simply described how we hoped it would look in the end, and she made it happen! It was magical.
Great food, great drinks, GREAT service, great accommodations, great flexibility, great value, great atmosphere, great everything! The Gettysburg Hotel went above and beyond to make us feel special.

My husband and I were married at the Gettysburg Hotel in November, and I can't say enough about the Gettysburg Hotel and staff! Our wedding was absolutely everything that we wanted because the staff there was so accommodating to our every need. In particular Megan Wherley, our coordinator was AMAZING! It felt as if she was our very own personal wedding planner...she was always available to us, offered great ideas and never said no. I have to say my mother and I coming from New York, were somewhat over the top with what we wanted, but Megan knew just how to handle us and she did her best to get us everything that we asked for...actually I think she did get us everything. Most importantly, Megan is so good at her job that she took so much stress off of me during my wedding planning. Your wedding is in great hands with Megan. Christina, the banquet manager is also a doll and knows what she is doing. She took all of our direction perfectly and set up our dream wedding exactly how we wanted it. She also made sure that throughout the whole night, we were 100% pampered and taken care of. Even the wait staff and bartenders, especially Terry were AWESOME! The drinks were perfect, the food was delicious, and the atmosphere beautiful and the people were the best. The greatest thing about the Gettysburg Hotel is that they allow you to have the wedding of your dreams, accommodating your every wish. Truly, I could not have picked a better venue. Everything and everyone was amazing. in the surrounding area of Gettysburg no venue was as responsive and attentive to our needs and wishes. Meghan was the only one that heard what we wanted and delivered.

It was always our dream to get married at Christmas time, and we couldn't have asked for a better location then the Gettysburg Hotel to make that dream come true. Not only is the town of Gettysburg a magical place during this time of year, but the hotel was decorated beautifully. Megan is an absolute gem to work with, and made sure all of our details were taken care of and executed to perfection. I couldn't have asked for a more beautiful wedding and day. The Gettysburg Hotel was the perfect venue for our daughter's wedding. Megan Wherley was a delight to work with as our wedding planner. Our guests reserved the entire block of 20 rooms plus some and were very pleased with the accommodations.

We are SO happy that we decided to have our wedding reception at the Gettysburg Hotel. It was the best day of our lives, and the hotel and hotel staff helped to make it so! The hotel's event planner, Megan, helped us plan every single detail of the reception, from the schedule of the night all the way down to how we wanted the napkins to be folded. Very thorough and helpful! The day was stress-free because of all the pre-planning that Megan and her staff helped us do. We didn't have to do ANY set-up at all for the reception. We dropped off decorations with Megan two days before the wedding and hotel staff took care of absolutely everything. They did a beautiful job!
The event package was great. We went with the cheapest food and alcohol package (which was very affordable), and it included buffet, alcohol, cake (we got cupcakes), a complimentary bridal suite, and so much more. The food was absolutely delicious. We went with the buffet (had chicken, steak, and salmon, and TONS of sides and salads, etc.).
My husband and I and our families arrived at the hotel two days early to start off the wedding weekend with some relaxation at the hotel... Rooms are beautiful and comfortable, and the surrounding town is PERFECT for dining out, sightseeing, going for walks, wine tasting, etc. etc. There are tons of restaurants within walking distance of the hotel, as well as coffee shops and bakeries.
The preferred vendors on their list are great... We found our DJ (Phantom Shadow), cake (Karen Rodkey's Cakes), and spa (Gettysburg Day Spa) on their list. The bridesmaids and I all got our hair done at the Grace Kelly Salon, a two minute walk down the street from the hotel.
All in all it was an amazing weekend.
