Hotel Baker Wedding
We had our wedding in the Rose Garden/Rainbow Room on 10/10/2025 and could not have been happier with the turnout! Hotel Baker’s communication throughout the day was perfect. When going through some bumps before our ceremony, Tiffany was extremely helpful to solve any problem. We highly recommend this space! Dinner was great, decor was perfect, and the staff was EXTREMELY kind throughout our wedding weekend. Especially as a gay couple, we were very thankful to have a venue that was willing to create our perfect day and make it as easy as possible!Hotel Baker's reply:

Our wedding reception at Hotel Baker was an absolute dream! From start to finish, the entire planning process was smooth and stress-free thanks to Tiffany, who made everything so easy and enjoyable. Trina did a wonderful job managing our banquet the night of, ensuring every detail went perfectly, and we are so grateful to Rowena for making Hotel Baker the ideal destination for our celebration.
The staff was on top of everything, dependable, kind, and incredibly thoughtful. Our guests were blown away by the beauty of the venue. The Rose Garden was a stunning setting for cocktail hour, and the Rainbow Room was undeniably the coolest and most elegant spot for our reception. Accommodations for our overnight guests were also wonderful.
We are so thankful for the entire Hotel Baker team for helping us create such a memorable and magical evening. Highly recommend!! -

Really wonderful local charm
This is a great place to hold your event and guests can stay comfortably too. We booked the Waterfront room which includes the large patio overlooking the Beautiful Fox River and rose garden. The staff was amazing and the food and service top notch! Tiffany helped us plan a wonderful summer evening event that was perfect. Words can't even describe how perfect our day was and how grateful we are to Tiffany and Trina, the banquet manager, for everything they did! I felt like they and the rest of the staff at Hotel Baker cared about our wedding as if we were family. The outdoor grounds were beautiful and the Rainbow Room looked gorgeous with the lit up floor during the reception. Our penthouse suite had a hot tub and patio on the roof with amazing views of St. Charles and after the reception we continued the celebration upstairs with our bridal party. It was 10/10 perfect! We also got amazing feedback from our guests who are still talking about our wedding weeks after. They commented that this was the prettiest wedding they have ever been to and that the level of service was top notch. We are excited to come back and celebrate our wedding anniversaries here in the future - an added plus. It will be so special to have dinner at the Rox, sit out on the patio and reminisce about our wonderful experience here with family and friendsHotel Baker's reply:

Hotel Baker wedding review
The Hotel Baker in historic St Charles Illinois is a fantastic place for a wedding celebration! We had an outdoor ceremony followed by cocktails on the waterfront terrace, with reception indoors in a lovely room with a trickling water fountain! Staff was attentive, courteous, and professional. Tiffany was outstanding coordinating the whole process, as well as Trinity on the day itself. The cocktails and food served were of the highest quality!Hotel Baker's reply:

We had a terrific wedding reception at the Hotel Baker. We had our cocktail hour in the Rose Garden and our reception dinner in the Rainbow Room. Our guests were very impressed with the hotel. In addition, the layout of the hotel and the efforts of the hotel staff allowed us to arrange seating that was enjoyable and convenient for all of our guests. The food was incomparable. We had excellent hors d'oeuvres and a meal prepared by the hotel kitchen, and the cake that was provided by Deerfield Bakers was incredible. The Hotel staff also took the courtesy of providing us with extra food and slices of cake, in our spa suite. Rowena Salas and the hotel staff were also very accommodating. They provided us with a love seat so that we could sit closer together during the reception dinner. Also, throughout our preparations the hotel staff were always incredibly helpful. The night before our wedding, we noticed that the hotel staff had already prepped the Rainbow Room, so after asking the hotel staff, they let us into the Rainbow Room that night, so that we could start our preparations for the reception early. Also, they were incredibly helpful when it came to moving and storing the materials that we brought ourselves. Finally, the beauty of the hotel so much defies description, that we will restrict ourselves to saying that, if you like art deco styles, riverside venues, and the town of Saint Charles then you will really love the Hotel Baker.Hotel Baker's reply:

To make a long review short: Hotel Baker is an excellent venue, full of class & charm - from its beautiful architecture & stunning grounds, to the staff, service, & delicious food. At every step, care is taken to provide the best possible experience for its guests & patrons, & we can provide no higher recommendation for a place to host your event.
To those that still need a bit more convincing, please read on about our wedding experience with Hotel Baker. Hopefully it'll give you the confidence you’re looking for to choose them, or further validate your decision if you’ve already chosen!
Hotel Baker stood out to us particularly because we were looking for a space with a lot of character. We wanted a classy atmosphere & charm of its own. The Rainbow Room & the glass-block dancefloor look amazing in pictures & even better in person, & immediately drew us to Hotel Baker. That, & we were looking for an ‘all-in-one’ venue - where we could have the ceremony & reception in the same space, & stay overnight there too. Hotel Baker checked all of our boxes!
If you have the opportunity before your event, definitely try & make it to one of the wedding showcase events that HB regularly puts on. You’ll have the opportunity to meet preferred vendors, try food, & get to know what the hotel looks like & the amenities it offers. There is, of course, a formal tasting as part of your booking, but the showcase will also give you a further selection of their available appetizers in addition to samples from bakeries that offer cakes for HB’s events.
Speaking of, the wedding packages offered by the hotel will give you enough to have a fully featured event - lacking for none of the basics - even with their base level package. There are upgrade options for most aspects of the event, but one we’d really recommend going for is a room upgrade to the Baker Suite. It’s gorgeous, spacious (enough for the bridal party to get ready in, morning-of), & well worth the cost.
On our wedding weekend, from the moment we walked in the door, Rowena Salas - the hotel owner - & the hotel staff made us feel prioritized & taken care of. We never felt like we needed to fight for attention or assistance, or that our requests were a burden. Everyone involved went above & beyond to make our wedding day everything we dreamed it would be. We also wanted to extend a special shout out to Tiffany & Molly. Molly especially stepped up & coordinated our event to ‘T’, despite being a relatively new staff member at Hotel Baker. She led us through our rehearsal on the day before the wedding, & was there for the event itself making sure that things went smoothly, & did it all with the foresight & attention to detail of a seasoned coordinator.
Our event went off with hardly a hiccup, & our guests are still raving about how good the food was, how beautiful the Rainbow Room was, & how great the service was. It was really evident to us that Hotel Baker cared about making our day special, & that care was directly felt by our guests, who all had just as amazing of a time as we did. We’re incredibly proud of how the day turned out, & Hotel Baker played a huge part in why we feel that way.
I could keep going on & on about all the little things that HB did to make our day special, but part of the charm & one of the reasons we’re so enamored with the hotel are all the tiny surprising ways they found to go above & beyond for us. Those are things that you’ll need to find out for yourself, & why you absolutely should book with them!

My husband and I just got married at Hotel Baker on September 1st, and thanks to the Hotel Baker staff, we had the most incredible wedding day ever. We have not been able to stop talking about how perfect everything was. Our friends and family agree!
There are plenty of wedding venues that look the same, but Hotel Baker is something special. Looking back, we couldn’t be happier with our choice to host our wedding at Hotel Baker.
We got married on the boat dock and had our cocktail hour in the beautifully manicured rose garden, which both overlook the Fox River. It was so picturesque and romantic! Our reception was held in the gorgeous Rainbow Room.
From the moment we toured the venue, Rowena made us feel important, valued, and like family. Throughout the entire wedding planning process, Rowena and Marissa were incredibly kind and accommodating. When planning a wedding, there are so many moving parts, but Marissa’s expertise, patience, and grace put my mind at ease. She and Rowena perfectly executed everything I asked for.
At Hotel Baker’s showcase event, we had the opportunity to meet their wonderful preferred vendors. We ended up choosing our bakery, photographer, day-of-coordinator, and DJ from Hotel Baker’s preferred vendors, and we couldn’t be more pleased with their professionalism and services.
It is easy to see that the Hotel Baker staff takes pride in their work. The staff transitioned between the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dessert like a well-oiled machine. It was truly so impressive! The dinner service was impeccable and our guests agreed that the food was delicious.
The Hotel Rooms are clean, beautifully decorated and updated, yet they still have a historic charm. Our room overlooked the rose garden and the Fox River– it was truly stunning and made for a quiet, romantic getaway.
We wish we could get married all over again just so that we could spend another day celebrating at Hotel Baker. We are forever grateful for the Hotel Baker staff and all they did to make our day truly unforgettable. If you are looking for a venue in a desirable location with excellent staff, delicious food, historic charm, and beautiful views, look no further. Host your wedding at Hotel Baker…. What an AMAZING place for a wedding! I had the great privilege of getting to officiate my nephew's wedding and they chose the Hotel Baker for the ceremony and reception! The wedding was outdoors off the river and all of the so many great pictures were taken in the beautiful garden out back. It's such a historic building for St. Charles and the location just can't be beat. Everyone at the Hotel Baker was incredibly accommodating, friendly, attentive and made sure that my nephew and his bride had the wedding of their dreams! Wedding of our dreams!
Hotel Baker was the most beautiful venue we could ever ask for. The building itself is so unique and we received so many compliments from our guests. The food is fantastic and the chef/staff were so accommodating with our main course requests. We had our ceremony and cocktail hour outside and WOW! so beautiful. The rose garden is well kept and sets a perfect backdrop for photos that will last a lifetime. Our planning process leading up to the big day was also smooth. We always received timely responses to our emails and they answered every question (and we had a ton) - so thank you! Marissa Dries was our main point of contact and she was amazing. Very communicative and she was there the day-of to ensure our day went as planned. We also stayed in the Colonel Suite and it was so clean and spacious. Lastly, I want to note that the entire staff was friendly and extremely helpful - from the front desk receptionists to the bellboys to the event staff. We were absolutely blown away by our wedding event at the Hotel Baker! We had our ceremony in the gorgeous Waterfront Patio and our dinner/dancing in the Waterfront Room, and we, along with our 85 guests, are still buzzing with excitement and reminiscing about the sheer perfection of the whole evening. One of my favorite things I heard from a guest was, “this really felt like a destination wedding!” People even said they felt as if they were in Italy or France.
We fell in love with the venue right away. We were charmed by the hotel’s boutique feel, and were stunned by the Waterfront Room and Patio right on the Fox River. We booked the venue a little more than a year ago and were pleased to find the Hotel Baker staff to be incredibly professional, responsive, and accommodating. Their food is top notch, their wait and kitchen staff was very organized and efficient, and many guests commented that this was the best food they ever had at a wedding. In my opinion, their filet mignon rivals some of the very best in the Chicagoland area. In addition, their food tasting event is a class act. They invite a variety of vendors to the event, from photographers and videographers, to the cake vendors that were included in their wedding package. We ordered a cake from Deerfield’s Bakery that was as tasty as it was beautiful, and it was all coordinated seamlessly by the hotel; all we had to do was try the cakes at the bakery in Buffalo Grove and select our favorite flavors and designs. The cake was then delivered to the hotel staff who displayed it, cut it, and served it on the big day.
Throughout the process we worked with Kelly, one of the hotel’s Sales Managers. She guided us through the process of designing our wedding timeline, helped us coordinate with vendors, and made sure everything was perfect for the event. She was very quick with email responses, was always willing to meet with us in person or over the phone, and also worked very well with our day-of coordinator. She was very accommodating of our family wedding traditions and helped coordinate with the bar staff to make our specialty cocktail a huge success.
The Hotel Baker is charming, unique, and stunning, and their wedding package is incredibly convenient with its inclusion of a dedicated coordinator, food, beverage, wait/bar staff, wedding cake, hotel block, and ceremony space. We cannot recommend this venue enough!Hotel Baker's reply:

Our beautiful wedding day
Friday May, 21, 2021 is a day to remember for the rest of our life’s.
When a destination wedding became off limits due to CoVid the choice of a hometown wedding was made. Baker Church and the beautiful historic Hotel Baker were an easy choice to make.
The gorgeous waterfront room has so many beautiful details, the outdoor patio and Rosé-garden are so adorable and picturesque.
Our food was incredibly delicious, the staff beyond accommodating and awesome.
Jessica our sweet wedding coordinator made planing our day easy and she amazingly executed every detail of that day.
The only sad part is that the day is over but our memories will last a lifetime.

Hotel Baker has it all. From our first meeting with Jessica, the sales and wedding coordinator, to her ability to execute the details the day of the wedding, she is there every step of the way. She is very responsive, knowledgeable, and professional. The gardens are beautiful and whether it’s the river, garden, patio, or indoors, there are many options and back drops for your ceremony. The staff is very accommodating, the food is wonderful, and was served hot! There was even a special touch for the bride and groom at the end of the night, when they returned to their room. Hotel Baker made our day so special and perfect. Everything ran perfectly. We did not have an outside wedding coordinator, but Claire handled everything for us and literally made my exact vision come to life. Because the food and cake are included in the package the value is amazing and it cut down on the number of vendors/meetings we had to deal with. The food and cake were both delicious and the venue is absolutely gorgeous. We held our cocktail hour in the rose garden and I am still getting comments about how breathtaking it was. Additionally, we took most of our photos in the rose garden and it was the perfect backdrop for fairytale photos. The light-up dance floor was amazing and almost every person at the wedding was on the dance floor for the full three hours. We rented out both the suites to get ready in and they were both beautiful for getting ready in. We did the gelato bar as a late-night snack to meet our minimum and it was fun and delicious. Everyone loved the little town of St. Charles and there are tons of churches and restaurants for ceremony/rehearsal. All of our guests spent time at the Irish pub across the street. There is also a bar in the hotel that is great for a little after-party. I cannot recommend this venue enough. Professional, beautiful, and high quality. -

We had our wedding in September at Hotel Baker in Saint Charles. The Rose Garden was absolutely beautiful and so was the backdrop of the Fox River. We had our ceremony on the boat dock and cocktails in the Rose Garden which allowed our guests to mingle in a stunning, natural setting. The staff and owner all worked hard and seemed genuinely invested to make our special day the very best. The food was delicious, and the Rainbow Room created a nostalgic elegance. The lighted floor made the dancing that much more fun, and the mezzanine created a unique opportunity to have seating for everyone with a good view of the evening. Had an overall great experience with my daughters wedding on 9/28/19. From the responsiveness of Claire, whom we first worked with, to the attention to detail by Travis, who took over! We booked the Hotel Baker for our wedding rehearsal dinner on 9/19/19.
We had the pleasure of working personally with Rowena and her staff over the past couple of months going over details and specifics for our dinner. They were extremely professional and helpful in making the entire process seemingly effortless. The end result was a beautiful room, great service and absolutely delicious food for us and our guests. The courtyard outside the room was the perfect place for pictures and some after dinner drinks before heading over to Rox City grill & lounge in the lobby to continue the party. The location was perfect. ***SPECIAL NOTE : You have to try the cookies! Our guests ate the entire tray. Amazing !!!

Absolutely Fabulous!!!
We found Hotel Baker last spring on the Knot when our daughter became engaged after relocating to Chicago from our home in Seattle. After she mentioned that they were hoping for a venue with historic charm and near a beautiful church for the ceremony, we fell in love with Hotel Baker in St. Charles. Little did we know that the "historic charm" wasn't the only charm provided - it is the Hotel Baker staff, the food, the service and the beautiful surroundings that created the perfect weekend for the bride and groom and also allowed our family to have a wonderful reunion as they traveled in from across the country.
We cannot count how many family and friends thanked us personally for the invitation and stated it was the nicest wedding they ever attended with the best food!!! The owner and wedding coordinator were so responsive and left no stone unturned to ensure that the evening would flow seamlessly. We were left to enjoy dinner and dancing without a worry in the world and as mother of the bride, it was so appreciated.
Our reception, held in the restored Rainbow Room with architecture from the 1920's, has a beautiful balcony and a lighted dancing floor from the era. I loved that Tommy Dorsey, Louis Armstrong among others had entertained in the room and John F. Kennedy was one of the hotel's many guests. The Penthouse Suite and Baker Suite were perfect for the bridal party to prepare for the ceremony and reception and there is not a lovelier setting for photos than the beautiful Rose Garden along the Fox River.
Throughout our five day stay, the hotel staff was responsive and caring, helping with details that made a big difference. The breakfast served each morning made it so easy to have a wonderful start to the day with our visiting family. I asked how they could possibly make us feel so special -- but I know now they make everyone feel this way.
If you select Hotel Baker, I guarantee you will not be disappointed!

My twin sister had her reception at the Hotel Baker on July 27, 2019 and it could not have been more perfect! The staff at Hotel Baker went above and beyond in their communication with our families throughout the whole process and were so welcoming. The coordinators made sure everything ran smoothly and treated us all with care. They even provided transportation for the bridal party and gave us a mini tour of the town. All of our questions and requests were answered with the kindest responses. The Rainbow Room looked beautiful and our guests said that it was the best food they had ever had at a wedding. I really cannot say enough how much the people at Hotel Baker touched our hearts and I can only hope that when I get married some day, I have an experience as special! -

We had our wedding at Hotel Baker on 7/27/19 and it was the most perfect day! The wedding coordinator and owner of the hotel worked so hard to make our vision come to life, and no detail was left unplanned. Any email or call I made to the planners was responded to almost immediately, so I felt at ease. Special accommodations were even made for us for transportation as we had a lot of out of town guests. The catering staff was also amazing and the food tasted wonderful. All of our guests said that this was the best wedding they had attended and that they loved the historic charm of Hotel Baker. People loved having cocktail hour out in the rose garden on the beautiful Fox River. Thank you Hotel Baker for going above and beyond on our special day! Hotel Baker was the first venue that caught our eye, and the first and only venue that we toured. We booked the same day. The interior of the hotel is beautiful and still has many original details from when it was built in 1928. The rose garden behind the hotel is a beautiful space for photos and cocktails. The hotel owners and staff are amazing, genuine and kind, accommodating, and flexible. Our ceremony and reception were in the Rainbow Room which is the larger ballroom but it felt very intimate with smaller table sizes and the oval layout of the room.
I’m so glad we had our wedding here and I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a more unique, vintage, or historic place to get married.Hotel Baker's reply:

A one-of-a-kind venue that delivered on all counts!! Guests were absolutely blown away by the ambiance, decor, food, vibe, you name it... Claire B was our venue coordinator and made things go smoothly from day one up until the big day. Downtown St. Charles is a great place for out of town guests to explore, and the Irish bar across the street went over very well. I would highly recommend this place to anyone in the Chicagoland area who is looking for a ceremony/reception venue, and ESPECIALLY for a winter wedding :)Hotel Baker's reply:

We did our research and saw Hotel Baker had discounts for winter weddings. Best decision! Our guests had so much fun and everyone loved the venue. We did not need to supply much decor as it was already decorated for the holidays. Casey was so understanding and an awesome help! Casey Pifke the hotel catering manager helped us plan it every step of the way. Casey is so charismatic and pleasant to work with! She is a model of professional efficiency and combined with her cheerful, outgoing personality made everything super easy and fun. The room had an elegant and romantic look to it. The appetizers and dinner were outstanding and everyone we communicated with was wonderful. All of our guests raved about the presentation and how great the food was. I have had a shower in the Waterfront room before and loved the service and presentation so that made me come back to host the wedding. I have a son and many nieces and nephews who most definitely will be contracting Hotel Baker in the near future!

We could have not been more pleased with this venue and more importantly, the Bride and Groom had a memorable wedding celebration and our guests were treated like VIPs, leaving the event raving about the food, service and atmosphere. 1. FOOD & VENUE: Our guests are still raving about the FOOD (and how beautiful the venue was).
2. OVERALL DÉCOR, SPACE & FEEL: Our winter wedding was out of a winter wonderland story book - it was MAGICAL, CHARMING, classy and comfortable like that chestnuts by an open fire type of feeling with the decorations and your family all around
3. THE BEST TEAM: Claire was my right hand lady throughout: she was beyond patient & helpful, sent me reminders, she was sweet & kind, and fought for us to approve our requests from the start for smooth sailing after. I could have not done this without her!!
(& shout out to Michael at the front desk– I can’t thank you enough for taking the BEST care all the girls the morning we got ready & then every guest the night of our wedding (taxis, rooms and literally EVERY little request) all done with a smile on his face!! Michael, you are the sweetest human on the planet!
4. EVERYTHING IN 1 PLACE: We didn’t have our ceremony at Hotel Baker but the hotel worked for just about everything else which was soooo unbelievably convenient: Great ready room for bridal party, penthouse suite for bride pictures and stay for B&G (they left us a couple pieces of our cake and milk the night of HOW ADORBS!) && more importantly PICTURES: the rose garden, the front, the bridge, the steps inside = picture perfect
5. WEDDING PACKAGE - TOP NOTCH (and no well booze either) - included: the cake (from Oakmill Bakery!), delish menu from start to end & lots of options, hotel stay, get ready room, great photo areas, great service, , a place that allows your own vendors (DJ, etc), full tasting & vendor options, chairs, linens, free parking…. Angelina Sent on 11/11/2015We have nothing but good things to say about the Hotel Baker! We had a 13-month engagement and managed to accomplish more than we expected within that time frame. The staff was incredibly attentive and professional. The food was by far the BEST wedding food we have ever experienced and we received endless compliments about that. The bar regulated drink pours, which was beneficial to the well-being of our guests. The Managers were responsive and patient throughout the entire wedding planning process. The floor is EVERYTHING and made for perfect pictures and dancing! I honestly would not change a thing about that night. It was an unforgettable experience and I recommend it to a group of no more than 120. It was intimate and the sound was perfect for the DJ. We also got lucky and had the Waterfront Room available to use for our cocktail hour! It was the cherry on top to our perfect Black Tie affair! I definitley recommend bringing in a Photo Booth like we did too. That is the best idea for party favors and the room it was set up in upstairs was a great lounge that had access to the upper balcony of the Rainbow Room. It made it seem like the entire Hotel was ours. Such a special evening. Couldn't be more grateful for the way things turned out!! :)
