Carolina Love Events for the win!

I will start with saying we didn’t think we needed a wedding planner. We are low key, go with the flow types. We didn’t know what we didn’t know. Kristi and team were exceptional. And it didn’t take long to realize we needed them! If anything went wrong, we didn’t have a clue. For us, everything was perfect. Every little detail was covered from assisting with vendor recommendations and coordination to keeping us on our timeline. Kristi and her team were always available to answer any questions in a timely manner. Our minds were at ease the entire time. Kristi thought of every little detail that we had almost overlooked. Never thought to have a point of contact person for the end of the night to gather all our belongings once we left the venue. I guess we thought everything would just appear where it needed haha! Our experience was true perfection. Because of Carolina Love Events every little detail was taken care of. We didn’t have to worry about anything. We were guided professionally throughout the ceremony and staged at just the right spots so there were no sneak peeks. Our guests were graciously guided to the cocktail hour and then to the reception where our DJ was cued up for our entrance. Following our first dance, the caterers were ready for dinner followed by a seamless transition to the cake cutting switched into a happy birthday cake for one of our guests. We danced the night away when last call was announced, Kristi had all our guests line the stairs outside and coordinated a sparkler exit. All our personal items arrived back. Thank goodness for that contact we never thought about having lol. We thought we were low key and just go with the flow, which we are but a wedding is not the time to test how chill you may think you are. Carolina Love Events had everything we knew and didn’t know we wanted or needed covered. We would not have had the experience or memories we have without their involvement.

The most beautiful venue

We got married at Homewood on September 30th, 2023. It is such a beautiful venue and it was perfect for our 90 person wedding. The space is truly stunning- it includes an outdoor ceremony and cocktail hour space, a beautiful reception hall, an indoor bar, and the cutest bridal party suites. Working with Homewood was seamless because everyone who works there is amazing at their job, extremely communicative, and available to answer any and all questions. The guests loved the venue and our day was absolutely perfect. I can’t recommend Homewood enough!!!

Beautiful!

Loved our wedding at Homewood. I got so many compliments on my choice of venue.

They have a gorgeous outdoor ceremony site. We didn't even have flowers and the pictures still came out wonderful with all of the greenery. And it's nice and shady for those sunny days.

The indoors is also incredibly beautiful and I think the perfect size for our smaller wedding - we had about 40 guests and 14 children

Other good points:
The bridal suite upstairs. My bridal party and I had a Blast getting ready rogether. Then we just had to go downstairs for the wedding.

We hired a babysitter. They let us use the bridal suite for our babysitters and children. This meant that our out of state family could have their children on site the whole time. So the kids had a great time while the parents could relax and have fun.

They require you to use their wedding planner. I probably wouldn't have hired a planner but I think it's the thing that helped the day go so smoothly and (almost) stress free.

It was in their contract that they would set up for an indoor wedding if the weather goes bad.

They provide some decor, though the space doesn't need much.

The most beautiful and convenient venue

We absolutely loved getting married at Homewood. First of all, it is BEAUTIFUL - all of our guests were impressed with the beauty and charm of the place. Secondly, they know what they are doing! They have weddings there pretty much every weekend, and therefore, they are like a well-oiled machine. They have 2 required vendors - day-of coordination and bar service - and because of that, those 2 aspects run incredibly smoothly. We also used their in-house catering and floral vendors, and again, everything ran really smoothly. They recently acquired the upstairs for a bridal and groom suite, which is a really nice place to hang out before the wedding. The only down side is you can only arrive 2 hours before your ceremony without paying extra, and it would have been nice to have that space for longer. We had our ceremony and reception indoors, and turnover of the room was smooth and quick, and we loved the outdoor cocktail area for guests. Finally, the big plus of this venue compared to others in Asheville is the location. We had people flying in without cars and it was perfect for them to Uber 10 min from downtown rather than driving an hour out into the country to get mountain views. I will forever cherish our day and all of our photos from this beautiful venue!

Historic, One-of-a-Kind Venue

Conveniently located near downtown Asheville, with lots of free parking, and reasonably priced, especially for weekdays. Okay, now that the practicalities are out of the way, let me just gush about how gorgeous this venue is! It has an outdoor garden that can be used for ceremonies (though ceremonies can be held inside during bad weather or the winter). We were married in November, but we were able to have our wedding ceremony outside since it was a nice day. They also have an outdoor patio space that you can use for cocktail hour, but they have a very beautiful indoor study/bar room as well. The indoor reception space is very pretty and has a great hall feel with working stone fireplaces for the cold months.
They also recently opened a bridal party suite upstairs, and that is very cute and spacious. I can't express in words how much we loved having our wedding here. Highly recommend!

Beautiful venue that makes wedding planning easy!

We got married here on 9/20/20, and it was beautiful! We had to reschedule and significantly downsize our wedding due to the pandemic, and they were extremely accommodating of all of our needs as well as very responsive to emails. They do require use of their in-house planning (Carolina Love Events), a choice of 6 caterers, and alcohol through Asheville Beverage which is also in-house. Some may see this as negative or limiting, but it honestly made it easier on us by focusing our decision making. Not to mention how helpful Nikki at Carolina Love Events was to have with us throughout the whole process- it was great to have her knowledge of the venue throughout planning.

We took advantage of their garden for our ceremony and opted for an outdoor cocktail hour and reception, which requires use of a tent in the parking lot. I was a bit nervous about this because I didn't want to lose the ambiance of the venue, but the tent with the party lights up against the stone wall made it feel like we were in our own little world for the celebration.

The whole experience with Homewood from start to finish was great, and I can't recommend it as a wedding venue enough!

Great venue!

We loved Homewood as a wedding venue! It is beautiful, romantic, and gave our wedding the intimate feel we wanted! It is conveniently located close to downtown Asheville but secluded enough that it felt like just us and our guests. The most amazing wedding venue!

Homewood was an elegant and intimate venue for our wedding- it felt like a dream! The ceremony and reception space looked amazing with the candle package and the outside facade and grounds were a beautiful backdrop for pictures. The location is great, we had a trolley drive us and our guests from Homewood to downtown for drinks after the reception and it was so much fun! The cost was very reasonable for the services provided, we were very happy with our wedding experience and received many compliments from guests on the space. Thank you Homewood for being the perfect wedding venue for our special day!

Exactly what I wanted

I knew as soon as I found Homewood that it was where my fiance and I would get married. It is gorgeous, intimate, and has a lot of character. I could not be happier with my wedding and the experience all of my guests had. It was a seamless day, and the staff of Homewood, Asheville Beverage, and Carolina Love events were perfect. I didn't have to worry about a thing, and I was able to truly enjoy the best day of my life. We chose to have the ceremony and the reception in the same area, and the room flip was easy and professional. Everyone had the most wonderful time, and we wouldn't change a thing about it.

Destination Wedding

When I started planning our wedding in Asheville from TX, I was quickly overwhelmed at the options and pricing of venues in the area. I came across Homewood on a random blog and as soon as I saw it and got a quote, I knew it was the one! I was looking for an intimate venue that would hold 80-90 guests at a reasonable price, plus have a ceremony and reception site. Homewood is a one-of-a-kind venue with great vendor teams (Nikki/Carolina Love Events & Asheville Bev) that made wedding planning smooth and easy. I could not have imagined a better venue or planning process. The wedding went on without a hitch and I couldn't recommend this venue enough!

The best! Us and our guests had a perfect experience.

Amazing! They worked with us to meet all of our special requests, wrangled all the vendors so well that we had zero issues whatsoever, and in general brought their A-game. I would 1,000,000,000,000% recommend them to anyone - it's hard to find a venue that's a) historic, b) has indoor and outdoor space, and c) not exorbitantly expensive, but Homewood easily covers it all.

Amazing Experience!

We had our wedding at Homewood on October 20,2018! We loved every second of it. It is a breath taking venue! We worked with Nikki, the wedding coordinator/planner. She made us feel very comfortable. We planned this wedding from Florida and we knew we were in good hands. Our wedding went according to plan, and if anything was wrong, they we had no clue! The whole night was nothing short of amazing and Homewood was the perfect venue for us!

Perfect from start to finish

The perfect setting for our MidSummer nights dream wedding. A majestic space that still feels like home.

I was connected mostly with Julie throughout the planning phase. She is absolutely lovely, and quick in response to emails and questions.

Our guests loved the castle like quality of this venue and we really played it up! We had our ceremony in the garden - which was looking so lush and beautiful in June. The new outdoor patio was a hit with our guests, it was occupied nearly the whole evening. The reception was in the great room, which we designed to feel like a royal feast. Our guest count was 92 and the space felt full, but remained movable for guests and vendors.

We are over the moon with our experience at Homewood and could not have imagined a better place to have had our dream wedding!

Homewood was my dream wedding reception venue! My now husband and I grew up in Asheville, rare born and raised Asheville natives. Although Homewood has amazing ceremony sites, we decided to get married in a chapel off site that has sentimental value.

Nikki was so patient, answered questions in a timely manner, let us come see the venue several times for planning purposes, and was a reassuring presence throughout our reception. She was usually within sight, but never in the way or asking questions.

We really didn’t need many decorations because we opted for the candle light package! SO WORTH IT. We did centerpieces and signs ourselves (welcome, departing, schedule, bar menu, gift, favor), used Homewood’s tablecloth rental service, and then let the venue speak for itself! I’ve seen a ton of pictures where people used lots of flowers, and while it was still beautiful, you don’t NEED it. I was very happy with our candlelit evening.

We had about 130-140 people. While it was full, it never felt crowded or cramped! We opted for the outdoor package, but unfortunately a hurricane came through over Memorial Day (2018), so we didn’t get to use it (not sure if we will be refunded for not being able to use the outdoor package we paid for).

Keep in mind you do have to use Asheville Beverage for alcohol, and have to use one of Homewood’s six approved caterers. We opted for Caroline Allured Catering, and it was so good!! Everyone commented on the food, and she was affordable with great quality.

Homewood stored our gifts until parents picked up the next day (there wasn’t an event the day after ours), and allowed guests who drank to leave their cars overnight if they needed.

We really can’t recommend Homewood enough.

The Schills

Homewood does offer different prices for weekdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so if you are on a tighter package I would suggest asking about an alternate day to Saturday. Even Saturdays are priced affordable though!

Homewood was a fantastic location for my daughter's recent wedding and reception! Not only are the venue and wedding ceremony area (outdoors) lovely, but the staff is fantastic! Under the leadership of event planner, Nikki, our experience was flawless! I found Nikki to be highly responsive to our communications with her and she was very accommodating. If you are looking for a wonderful venue for a small to mid-sized (they can handle up to 115) wedding, in beautiful Asheville, look no further than Homewood!

Homewood is the perfect wedding venue. We chose Homewood for our daughter's wedding reception last weekend. Nikki answered emails promptly and helped us through the process. She was there throughout the night, making sure everything went as planned. The exterior of Homewood was so beautiful for an evening wedding. With lanterns lining the walkway (we were allowed to provide) and a bagpiper playing, the beauty of Homewood's exterior set the stage for a wonderful evening. As I entered the dining hall with flowers, greenery and candles galore, I was speechless. Throughout the evening, our guests commented on the beauty of this venue. I would highly recommend Homewood for wedding events. It definitely set the stage for a fairytale evening.

Absolutely flawless execution. From the time we booked the venue to the day after the wedding, we never worried about what was going on or if everything was in place. Nikki made everything a breeze to deal with and work through. She made sure nothing slipped through the cracks. The day of the wedding, we never were concerned and the guests had a perfect time. I got married here on a Friday 9/29/17. Let me first say that this place is extremely Beautiful AND affordable. We viewed many venues and you really cant beat the uniqueness of this venue with that price. My husband and I were blown away by this castle. I wanted a Game of Thrones/Disney style wedding and that is exactly what we got! There is a woods area outside where our ceremony was, big trees, hills, a CASTLE. Working with Nikki was amazing. I am an extremely disorganized hot mess. Not to mention we live in Denver, NC and this venue is in Asheville, NC. So with this being a destination wedding we really didn't have much time to plan. Nor were we able to meet half of our vendors till the day of the wedding! I am convinced their would be no wedding without NIkki there by my side. She was extremely responsive responding right away by email or text. Gave us a list on how to budget...what to start working on and what we needed to decide on ASAP. She keep us on track (I am a procrastinator like no other!) We worked with her for over a year to plan this wedding and it was stunning. We had violins and garland everywhere and Lanterns/candles. The setting was romantic and I felt like a princess. All I have ever wanted growing up was to have one day where I felt like a Medieval Disney princess. With this venue I have done that! There was plenty of room here for the staff, my guests, a photo booth, my wedding cake, DJ, Violinist. She had excellent recommendations of vendors which I loved each and everyone of them. This truly was a magical place to get married at and the wedding planner Nikki was the glue that kept everything together. You will not regret picking this as a venue.

Our experience at Homewood was an absolute dream. Nikki was incredibly diligent and helpful throughout the whole long distance planning... and on the day of, she made sure the venue was decorated flawlessly, the vendors were all prepared, and that we stayed on schedule. I cannot believe how stress-free it was. Homewood is a beautiful location with a wonderful staff. Our wedding truly exceeded all my expectations and we were able to stay within our budget. We couldn't have asked for a better place to have our fall wedding. As you can see from the photos, Homewood looks like it came straight out of a fairytale. We had our ceremony outside on the lawn. The leaves were all turning orange and we have the most beautiful photos that we will cherish forever. After our ceremony, we went inside to the reception area to find such a romantic setting with 200+ candles. We hardly had to decorate anything because Homewood was already perfect as-is. Julie and Nikki were also a joy to work with and made sure everything was how we wanted it. Homewood was the first place we visited when looking for our venue, but we immediately knew in our hearts that it was the perfect place for our wedding. Highly recommended!!!

Nikki Leonard with Carolina Love Events was a wonderful and attentive coordinator for my daughter's wedding at The Homewood. Such a beautiful building inside and out made for the perfect wedding setting. Homewood is the ONLY place to get married! :) We got married in early November with an outdoor ceremony. It couldn't have been more perfect. The venue itself is amazing but the staff, especially Nikki, brought the whole experience together. I can't thank Homewood and Nikki enough for such an unforgettable experience from the moment we first toured the venue to the moment we had our sparkler exit. Fell in love with this venue right when we walked in. NIkki and Julie are ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! They kept in constant communication with me, helped me through all the tricky stuff and took time to meet with me on several occasions. The building is beautiful and really gives a warm autmosphere. All the guests loved it! The venue is set up with multiple rooms so there was enough room for cocktail hour, dancing, tables, and a photobooth! And best part, a side cottage for the bride to get ready. Nikki and Julie were amazing from start to finish. We greatly appreciate all their help and would recommend Homewood to anyone! Any bride would be lucky to work with Julie and Nikki.

Homewood was perfect! Monroe gave us such excellent advice and recommendations for vendors that once we chose this venue, everything fell into place seamlessly. Everything was designed to be as stress-free as possible and they took every consideration to be welcoming and convenient.

Our dog was able to participate in the ceremony but the venue is not dog-friendly for the reception. We didn't think we had room for a photo booth in the bar area but in hindsight with 100 guests it would have been totally fine. at first I was worried it was too small but it was more than enough space. The bridal suite is lovely and they set us up with bubbly and water.

It's time-restricted, but as much as I thought I'd want to dance all night, everything was the perfect length of time and we had a magical evening. The alcohol rules are mostly an NC state law problem and a little annoying, but we didn't miss hard liquor when we decided not to spring for it. The venue staff was also great about calculating everything and giving us recommendations. They were also super gracious about breakage and a couple sick guests throughout the night.

I also wish I'd known to choose different chairs for the outdoor ceremony. I thought they'd be different but the plain folding chairs were ok.

We had our June wedding at Homewood and things couldn't have gone more smooth! Nikki is made for wedding business; she has the patience of a saint and is extremely accommodating, responsive, and organized. She knew exactly what questions to ask and which arrangements to make to ensure our day was all that we envisioned. We would often come up with ideas late night, fire off an email, and Nikki would send us a response within minutes. If you love vintage finds--Homewood is your spot. If you don't enjoy vintage finds--Homewood is your spot. You cannot beat this phenomenal group of folks and their knowledge of the wedding business; the beautiful space speaks for itself. We can't thank them enough for working with us to make the most important day of our lives so perfect!

Homewood was the venue for us from the moment we saw it – especially perfect for an indoor winter wedding with gorgeous hardwood floors and huge fireplaces. So romantic! The staff was quick on communication, thorough in answering questions, and so kind throughout the whole process and event. Our guests were blown away. The value (especially off-season) is unparalleled in a destination like Asheville, particularly because they have chiavari chairs ($) and other rentals built into packages that would cost way more a la carte. I can't sing their praises enough, and all of their preferred vendors made the entire planning process smooth, while still feeling totally my own and not cookie-cutter.

Homewood offered an affordable, all inclusive option for our wedding day. They provided chairs, tables, linens and knowledgeable staff to assist with any and all questions before, during and after our event. We planned our wedding from afar and the staff were always very responsive to emails if questions arose. They even helped us find outside vendors by providing lists or personal recommendations/tips on other businesses in the area that might meet our needs.

When we were in town to visit and tour the venue, the staff were very accommodating of our tight schedule.

I would highly recommend this unique and beautiful venue to anyone looking to get married in Asheville!

The staff at Homewood was always great to respond both by phone and email as needed throughout the year we planned for our wedding. Their help during the weekend of our wedding was priceless and I would highly recommend them for any event. The only critique I have of the event was the alcohol was stopped 45 minutes before our event ended, which I didn't know would happen.

We live in Chicago yet I wanted a North Carolina wedding since I'm originally from NC. I decided on Asheville because of the scenery and laid-back atmosphere plus all the breweries that I knew a lot of my friends would enjoy. There were a lot of venues to choose from online but the Homewood Event Center caught our eyes because the outside of it looks like a castle. When we visited the Homewood, I found that it was beautiful on the outside and homey/comfortable on the inside. There are several different rooms inside. It has a grand piano room in which we set up more of a cocktail style dinner. There is a separate room with a bar that our guests could either grab a drink from or hang out in. We used a 3rd room to set up a photo-booth. The venue is accessible. Our ceremony was held outside on a gorgeous day! There is a small stone walkway that leads up to the arbor (if you'd like the arbor - they have it on-site). We decorated the arbor with a little bit of greenery. The cocktail hour before the reception was held under the great maple tree on the lawn. My favorite part was our grand exit. The staff at homewood were wonderful! They were extremely responsive to all my emails and made the day go very smoothly. They also informed us that if the weather did not look good for an outdoor ceremony, that they would call it and have everything already set up inside. Our decorations were limited since the space is already beautiful. We bought their candlelit package and really that's all we needed. My brother made some small centerpieces but you could get away without any decorations at all and that was important to us since we were planning this from afar. Overall, I would highly recommend this venue to other individuals looking to host an event. It is absolutely stunning with friendly staff and a comfortable environment. Our guests are still raving about it.

We had our wedding at the Homewood in May -- it was absolutely wonderful! We had our ceremony outdoors, in a very lush, green space, and then we had our reception indoors in a gorgeous, wood-paneled Great Room. Homewood also had a lovely Bridal suite for me and my bridesmaids to get dressed in beforehand. It's an incredibly romantic venue. We highly recommend getting their candlelight package as well.

Our experience working with Homewood was flawless. Monroe, Julie, Lee-Ann, and the rest of the staff there are incredibly kind, responsive, and helpful. There are so many little details that go into wedding planning, but the Homewood team made planning easy! Our wedding day went well without a hitch. We couldn't recommend Homewood more highly.

Homewood is an absolutely stunning venue for an intimate wedding (of up to 110). The grounds are beautiful and the folks who work there are patient, kind and unbelievably helpful. There was never any other option. It was always Homewood, winter wedding, that's it. How was I so decisive without doing any other site visits? Because I knew Homewood would be ours for the day, that there wouldn't be other events on the same day and lookers-on. It is so intimate, rich in history, elegant without being pretentious. Three fireplaces, candlelight, big chandeliers, oh my!
We worked with Lee-Ann and she is just lovely. She was timely, knowledgeable, professional, but also has this inner zen, a relaxed demeanor which serves her well working with brides and their mothers ;)

Beautiful venue! Gorgeous bridal suite to get ready in! Lee-Ann is amazing!! She was so helpful in planning every aspect of our wedding via email since our wedding was a destination wedding. The winter decorations they had up fit our theme perfectly so we didn't have to do many additional decorations. I would highly recommend this venue for anyone wanting a gorgeous and elegant wedding. Homewood was the absolutely PERFECT venue for us! First of all, it is absolutely gorgeous. The castle exterior is stunning, and the interior is elegant, warm, and cozy. All my guests were blown away and they all thought I spent tens of thousands of dollars for the venue when actually it was VERY affordable. The customer service was out of this world in so many ways. Lee-Ann, the manager and on-site coordinator, indulged my MANY questions over the months of planning, always incredibly cheerful and SO knowledgeable and helpful. On the wedding day, she was there anytime I needed her and made sure everything went absolutely perfectly. I can't even believe how awesome my experience with Homewood was. Not one single complaint!!!

Have you ever wanted to feel like you were getting married in a castle, or a fairy glen? I know I did, and I got my wish when my wife and I found Homewood. We actually went on a whim while looking at some other venues after hearing about it, but Monroe greeted us warmly even without advance notice, and gave us a tour. We loved it! Even in the winter, when we first visited, it was lovely. We debated over several venues, but we kept coming back to Homewood, and ultimately decided it was the place for us! Lee-Ann helped us with the details of our reservation, and she was absolutely fantastic. We met with her several times and each time we could feel the wedding coming together more and more. And the day of was absolutely magical. It looked like it might rain, so Lee-Ann had contingencies just in case, but luckily, the clouds literally parted right before the ceremony began and the sun peeked through the trees of the glen. Granted, Lee-Ann hadn't made that happen (or else she's really amazing), but her planning and help making sure our day would be fantastic regardless of the weather made a huge difference!

We had such a wonderful experience thanks to Monroe, Julie and there wonderful staff. I had not expected to be so stressed out about my the details of my wedding but it happened to me too. The day of seemed to go so smoothly despite the inclement weather. They even managed to set out my sign in tree and guest favors. Valerie one of the staff members brought me up special drinks and appetizers to help calm my nerves. Lots of special touches that day and I thank everyone for making it so wonderful. The care and customer service we received was priceless.

The reason we choose this location-it is 3 minutes from downtown Asheville with the ability to have an outdoor wedding in a wooded location and they have wonderful staff. No one staying downtown had to drive far and we could get married and have a reception in the same location. Reasons why I recommend this location-not only is it beautiful, but they take care of every last detail for you, and really know how to run a reception and treat a bride. I really couldn't have asked for anything better. We were supposed to get married outside but it poured all day long-they took of making sure every little thing was as perfect as possible without having to bother me once.

If you are in Asheville NC and are planning a wedding I would go with this venue. The building is like a castle and is perfect for anyones fairy tale wedding. I felt like the Queen all day. The staff are so helpful and make sure that everything is up to your standards. We love Homewood.

We had our ceremony at Homewood because it's such a gorgeous place. The ceremony took place outside in the garden but the entire venue was open to us and guests. Our coordinator, Nikki, was so helpful from the moment we booked it.. especially since I was planning our wedding remotely. We chose a smaller "elopement" package but I still feel like we got the treatment of a full blown all-day ceremony and reception reservation; we also were introduced to an officiant as part of the package who was very nice and professional. As you can imagine, Homewood's outdoor area in the fall looks absolutely stunning. I'm so glad we were able to have our wedding ceremony here!

Our wedding was on the night before Halloween. My husband and I wanted our wedding to be Halloween themed, without being seemingly gothic or hokey.
Our colors were a mix of golds, blacks, coppers, and champagne. The theme had a sort of vintage eerie 1920's Great Gatsby feel. With the dark woods throughout the event center and the chandeliers in the great room, Homewood really lent a classy historical ambiance to our wedding.
It wasn't until later that we found out that Homewood had actually been one of Asheville's first Mental institutions and had been used as a tuberculosis hospital for the area later on. This only sold us on the venue more.
Let me be clear, the grandeur of the establishment, would never hint at Homewood's past. Nor would you believe it to be anything but beautiful upon entry. But with our theme, the thought of getting married in what used to be a mental hospital only helped drive home the Halloween tone.
Nikki acted as our liaison throughout the whole planning process (they are not the same as a wedding planner and will make that clear from the beginning). She was very approachable and transparent with us. She was knowledgeable, answered all of our questions, and made herself available when we needed her.
Homewood is a beautiful venue; definitely worth looking at. We had a wonderful experience with everyone there.

Amazing location. Great staff. They worked with us over email primarily since we lived in Florida and were coming up just for the wedding and everything went off without a hitch. Perfect location.

Homewood excels

My experience at Homewood was nothing short of a dream. I loved the intimacy and rich history of the interior and the beauty of the outdoors. There is nothing I would change about my wedding and I know that a lot of this has to do with the experience and professionalism of the Homewood staff. Whenever I had a question or needed assistance, there was always someone to help. Throughout the entire planning process I felt like I was in good hands. Everything was very easy from the setup to the cleanup, the staff at Homewood was more than accommodating. I wish I could do it all over again. We had so much fun! And the place is gorgeous.

I am so glad we had our wedding at Homewood. The entire team there is incredibly professional and wonderful. They are willing to help you create your dream wedding every step of the way and never failed to answer my numerous questions. The venue itself is simply stunning.

This was my one and only daughter's wedding. After an unsuccessful vendor interview with another company in Asheville, my daughter chose Homewood for it's absolutely gorgeous views, rooms and outdoor Glen. I was extremely pleased with their understanding of the mood and tone that she was trying to achieve and how deftfully they helped us navigate the complexities of a wedding and reception. Monroe and Julie were the epitome of professionalism and knew precisely how to interact with my daughter to make her feel comfortable and anxiety free about the details of her special day. Homewood, Inc. fulfilled their contracted services with aplomb to enable us to experience the most wonderful wedding ever. I can't praise their services enough and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for an absolutely stunning venue that delivers professional results. Thank you, Monroe and Julie!

Planning my wedding at The Homewood was the perfect start. They take care of everything from the sound system to the forks!

We had both our ceremony and rehearsal inside and it was perfect. I highly recommend The Homewood for a wedding.

Homewood is an incredibly beautiful place to get married! They are highly professional and accommodating. Monroe Moore is extremely helpful as an event coordinator. He brings years of experience, a calm and friendly personality, to all his clients and helps everyone feel at ease during a process that can be stressful and confusing. I would recommend this location and working with Monroe to anyone was planning a wedding, anniversary, or important celebratory event.

Julie was great and very easy to work with. She was very flexible on the day of the wedding when weather threatened to move my outdoor wedding inside, but fortunately the rain stayed away and we were able to continue as planned. Her organization helped me ensure I had everything I needed in place and set up and as I was working alone (wihtout a wedding coordinator) it was great to have someone to go to and ensure that everything was taken care of.
Homewood (with their beverage service: Asheville Beverage & Event Supply) made sure our reception was well stocked with quality drinks. Their recommendations for caterers and florists also were a great asset as they too were wonderful and very easy to work with. Overall a great wedding experience!

Highly Highly recommend for beautiful/cozy/classy/intimate wedding

Extremely happy with Homewood as our wedding venue. It was perfect for our intimate wedding with 50 guests! It's very Downton Abbey meets Game of Thrones vibes, beautiful architecture plus gorgeous garden and natural spaces. We did our ceremony in the garden and reception in the great room. The bar is so cool and cozy. It's on a mile from downtown which made Ubering to our wedding very convenient. Only complaint is that you only have 5ish vendors to choose from for food. Our first choice was booked and we didn't like the menu for a few of the others, so that really only gave us two options for catering. I understand why they have required vendors, but wish there were more options. The food ended up being great so not a huge complaint, just something to consider. Highly recommend this venue for your wedding!

Gorgeous Intimate Venue with Some Required Vendors

When we first visited this space, we fell in love with it. I think I remember seeing images in my deep dive search on Pinterest and Instagram. There was even a mama black bear and i think 4 cubs that wandered past as we looked outside! (We kept more than a respectful, safe distance!)

The in-house coordination service was fantastic. And while for some, the required vendors for coordination, alcohol and food might be a deterrent, it actually put my mind at ease a bit. Most of the vendors we went with had worked the venue before and were even familiar with the Day of Coordinating team. Everything went very smoothly, and couldn't be happier with what we got.
It was a little pricey, but for the beauty of the space I think it was worth it. There were two getting ready spaces, both for the bride and groom (or groom and groom or bride and bride).
Note: if you don't want to do a ton of your own decorating they had a candlelight package offered to fill up the windows and sides of the inside hall. Definitely worth it, since it all looks like it belongs in the space.

I'm glad we also ended up only using the inside, because last weekend I think the high was in the 40's. Definitely too cold for the elder guests that came. The fireplaces were lit for the ceremony and dinner, then we had them turn them off for the rest of the reception so when people started dancing it didn't get too hot! We invited 100, but I think less than 85 including bridal party were there, which was enough for approximately 10 tables and plenty of room for dancing!

Beautiful place for wedding

When looking at Asheville venue locations, Homewood totally stood out to me because of how beautiful it is. Who doesn’t want to get married at a castle inspired venue? After taking the tour, I was so excited to have my dream wedding here. We originally booked a Saturday in January but had to postpone due to covid. They were super understanding and worked well with us during the postponement, but we had to move to a Sunday otherwise we would have been charged a huge amount to keep a Saturday. Kind of a bummer when we signed a contract for Saturday, but it is what it is. Overall we had a great wedding here. The pictures were stunning, our guests enjoyed it, and I don’t have any regrets. I will say that they do a lot of weddings (obviously) and I felt we were just another wedding to them. The day of the wedding everything seemed really rushed, they didn’t follow all my requests for the big day, and the staff just seemed to be going through the motions. A lot of my guests complained the staff was rude to them and kept taking their half full drinks away constantly. I specifically requested to have us sit down and each guest be served a slice of cake since I paid for every guest to have a slice. Instead they had a cake table with slices and put out our take home wedding favor (donuts) at the beginning of the dancing. Nobody ate the cake and everyone had the donuts so nobody took them as take home favors. We wasted over $800 on cake that nobody ate. At the end of the night we did a glow stick exit and it felt really awkward and forced…we didn’t get to say goodbye to anyone and it was super abrupt. There were little things like that and it didn’t ruin our day necessarily, but it wasn’t 100% the best experience.

The Homewood of Asheville was a beautiful location for my husband and I to share our special day. Lee-Ann, Monroe, Julie were very helpful and professional. The price was decent but I would have preferred it to include more time. We were limited to 8 hours beginning upon the arrival of the first vendor which meant that our time began when the caterer arrived for set up and ending when the last vendor leaves which either paying for an extra hour or cutting our reception by an hour so that the caterer and could clean up. I was also unhappy that we had to wait until 2 months prior to our wedding to schedule our rehearsal because they allowed other events to be booked the evening before our wedding. The scheduling and time limits made planning stressful. I was, however, grateful for the beer/wine cost - since they are affiliated with Asheville Beverage, the cost for alcohol was much less than we had budgeted for and their selection was basically unlimited. Overall we enjoyed having Homewood host our Wedding and greatly appreciated the help from everyone involved.

While Homewood made for a beautiful wedding, it was almost more trouble than it was worth. It is an extremely expensive venue alone, but it seemed like we were "nickle and dimed" along the way with all of their extras. It was also difficult that they required you to use some of their preferred vendors, and we had to pay Homewood a commission on top of it. Many of these vendors were more expensive, but of a lesser quality, than many that we found in the Asheville area. All of this would have been acceptable. However, on the day of my wedding, there was a wedding scheduled to take place before mine. The staff of Homewood assured us that they placed weddings 6 hours apart to avoid overlap and that we would have access to the glen, house, and bridal suite at 2:00 PM. Turns out, the other wedding started at 2 PM and they neglected to tell us. I couldn't get into the bridal suite on time. Wedding guests were recruited to help decorate. My florist could not start decorating the glen until 4:30 (a half hour before my wedding!). Things were still being decorated as guests were arriving. This, ultimately, made Homewood and its staff a disappointment in my eyes.

Got the job done!

Because of COVID, my husband and I had to downsize our Charlotte wedding and initiate a plan B. Asheville is very special to us so we were excited to find a venue that was allowing intimate ceremonies. Homewood is absolutely gorgeous on the outside and photographs insanely well. The property itself is beautiful - it has a moody yet elegant vibe. The inside reminds me of an old fashion Church which is very cool! The bridal suite is perfect and they were so kind to let us pay to rent it for the day and come inside half an hour early.

My title is "it got the job done" because unfortunately the day of coordinator that was assigned to us made the experience less dreamy and welcoming. Although she kept it professional, she wasn't very personable or friendly. We did not feel like Homewood was "our" venue but rather a space we were renting and they just wanted us in and out. It felt uncomfortable. Our guests afterward reported feeling un-welcomed by her as well and reported that she was "cold" toward them. Luckily I was having the time of my life in the bridal suite with my girls, but this was sad to hear from our guests.

Most notably, we ordered the "extensive" candlelight package for our ceremony. On the website it appears that this package has multitudes of candles displayed along the isle and surrounding the mantle. This was not the case for us. We actually emailed them asking for a refund because in our pictures there are hardly any candles at all in the ceremony space. But we were told that the candles were "spread out" around the inside of the venue. The venue is quite large and we had a tiny wedding so they did not look substantial or noticeable by ay means. They were not primarily in the ceremony room (the only room we spent time) so it was quite disappointing to learn that they were displayed this way. So I wouldn't count on this package unless you are clear with them that you want them in the ceremony space only. Otherwise it looks nothing like the pictures. Might as well not have them!

Other than that we are gracious that Homewood offered us a space to host our micro-wedding ceremony during these challenging times. I am sure in normal times Homewood is a wonderful venue that really caters to their couples and pulls out all the stops. We unfortunately did not get that - but hey, it got the job done!

Our wedding was absolutely beautiful. We wanted the feel of a cold, winter-y wedding in December and Homewood met our needs for that. I can say this now that it is all said and done; however, there were many times in the planning process that I rethought our decision to have our wedding at the Homewood. The people that run this place are obviously in this for the money. They know that people are willing to spend money on a wedding and fully exploit that. When we toured the facility, we were told that we could keep costs down by bringing all of our own liquor. When we went to sign the contract, they added a "corking" fee for each individual bottle and refused to honor their initial verbal contract. The fee of the building does not include things such as cloth linen napkins. When we realized this, we decided to bring our own that better fit the feel of our wedding. Suddenly, they decided to charge us for bringing our own napkins, even though the contract said nothing about it. Our wedding planner talked to the owners about this and they refused to acknowledge the discrepency. Although these may seem like very trivial complaints, $100 here and there adds up to a lot when you're planning a wedding. Further, it took a lot of time and extra energy to rehash issues that should not have been issues at all. I would not recommend this place.

This is a beautiful location, a little castle in the mountains, that seems cheap enough in the beginning, but watch out for the hidden fees. First of all, if you want any sort of sound, it's an extra $150 to use their equipment, it's an extra $200 for candles. Oh, and they won't mention this until after you sign, but they require $1K to be paid to a wedding planner who does ABSOLUTELY NOTHING except be there for the caterer to get there.

You're gambling if you have your wedding here, as they don't contact the local tour bus line and tell them not to come by in the MIDDLE OF YOUR OUTDOOR CEREMONY. Then they'll lie to your face and tell you that they did. I called the bus company, they never heard from our planner about that day, and they offered more recompense and apology for their driver yelling "DON'T DO IT" over a loudspeaker than Homewood did for not handling it in the first place. They'll put Table 8's number upside down (because at this point, I'm pretty sure they're just screwing with you), ignore half of your DIY decorations, screw up your clearly written and labeled Bridesmaid/Groomsmen order, ignore written and discussed plans, and their required Cake people (because you have to select from a list of not-so-great vendors in that regard) will get the cake at least 65% to 85% wrong because they didn't take adequate notes when you met with them, and I mean covering what was supposed to be buttercream in fondant levels of wrong. That's what happened to us. Thankfully the caterer and photographer were both amazing, and we didn't include any of their other lists of their local "buddies" or "in-house" people.

If Nikki is your planner, watch out, she's the worst. After screwing up so hardcore on all of this that our heads were spinning after the wedding, she proceeded to blame my bride for all of Homewood's mess-ups in the return email from our comments about her poor performance.

Refused to refund after Hurricane Helene forced their cancelation

They refused to refund our wedding after Hurricane Helene forced them to cancel the date we had already paid in full for, citing a clause in the contract which allows them to wriggle out of giving you back any money you give to them. They would only offer to reschedule.

We decided we wanted to have a small vow renewal next year at Homewood so we could have the ceremony we imagined while also keeping our money in the Asheville community with our vendors. We asked if they would reschedule our date and give us a partial refund as the scope of the event would be significantly reduced. They again refused, again, citing the clause in the contract. We made a completely reasonable request - requesting that we be refunded the difference between what we booked initially and what the new event would have cost and they refused it.

The entire situation left a really bad taste in our mouths and now we want nothing to do with these people. They showed themselves to be cold, cynical business people. They can throw a wedding in an empty room next year for all we care.
