Heaven on Earth
The Holualoa Inn is a little piece of heaven on Earth! It is such a special place for my husband and I. We became engaged here in September 2021 and loved it so much that we returned for our wedding day exactly 2 years later! It was the most magical day ever! The perfect place for a wedding! The scenery is breathtaking and you can have the entire place for you and your loved ones! Everything is so serene and beautiful! The estate is gorgeous, comfortable, clean, and organized! Breakfast is delicious! Everyone is so kind and attentive! I dream about the Holualoa Inn often! Our wedding day was a dream and will live in our hearts forever! We toured holualoa inn first on our list of venues and every other one just could not live up to the feeling we got when we were there. We toured the outrigger, Mauna Kea, royal Kona and hokulia. Hokulia came close in terms of the gorgeous views and elegance but they had strict rules and you couldn’t stay on site. A major selling factor for us was getting to rent out the entire estate for the long weekend and have our closest friends stay there with us. We have such great memories hanging by the pool and spending time with our bridal/grooms party the days surrounding the wedding. Rent the full 4 days if you can- you won’t regret it! Our friends were so happy to get to stay another night following the wedding. All of the staff was SO nice and we looked forward to the breakfasts every morning! We also had our rehearsal there the night before- highly recommend! Thank you especially to Audrey for supporting us through our Covid wedding planning! It was a rollercoaster but so worth it! Can’t wait to go back fora stay as a couple and our friends/family can’t wait to join us for our vow renewals there! -

I immediately fell in love with Holualoa Inn from our first site visit and couldn’t be happier that we chose them as our reception venue for our big day. The grounds are like none other I’ve seen on the island - lush, elegant, private and magical in a way that you can only truly understand having visited there. The staff was phenomenal to work with while planning from afar and they went above and beyond to ensure our wedding was a success. My husband and I got married in March 2020 just before COVID reached the islands, and in the week leading up to our big day there was a lot of uncertainty and stress about potential restrictions and lockdowns. The Holualoa Inn staff worked hard to ease any concerns and ensured that us and our guests felt completely safe. Holualoa Inn is easily my favorite place on the Big Island - so much so that my husband and I will be returning to spend our 1 year anniversary there! Thank you to the Holualoa Inn team for creating such a wonderful space, and helping us create our storybook wedding. Mahalo!Holualoa Inn's reply:

An Amazing Venue!
From our first site visit, to our wedding weekend with the Holualoa Inn team we knew that we made the best decision ever. We were fortunate enough to spend three nights at the Inn and utilized the entire property. The rooms are all beautiful, the landscape is mesmerizing, and the views from each part of the property are stunning. The breakfasts were some of the best meals we’ve ever had - it’s worth every penny just for that signature French Toast! Each member of the Holualoa Inn family made us and our guests feel right at home with their island hospitality, while impressing our guests in the perfect setting for our wedding day! We cannot say enough wonderful things about the Inn and their team!Holualoa Inn's reply:

The staff were above and beyond excellent, kind, and supportive. They went out of their way to be around and help if needed. They would communicate quite quickly and were quite flexible with us. The place is gorgeous. We had 100 people there and it fit everyone quite well. I would highly recommend getting married here!Holualoa Inn's reply:

The team that led the event were incredibly helpful. They provided preferred vendors to help ensure the best ceremony every. While the event coordinator wasn't able to attend the ceremony, her replacement was a joy to work with. Overall the ceremony on the grass, over looking the city below was wonderful. The Vog was a bit more prevalent that I would have liked, but the pictures turned out great. The pavilion space made for an easy transition from the ceremony to the reception. We had 36 guests overall, and the space fit great. It can accommodate larger parties. Because we opted for a DJ rather than acoustic, we did have to pay extra. Reegan Sent on 06/17/2013My husband and I were married at The Holualoa Inn on November 1, 2012. When my husband and I decided that we just wanted the ceremony to be about the two of us and we would celebrate with family when we returned - I knew we had made the right decision from the moment I had spoken to Kat. Before we left, I had my dress shipped to the Inn and they made sure it was steamed and hanging in our closet upon arrival. When we arrived late, the staff had thought of everything ... it was perfect. They had fresh pastries waiting for us in our room due to the late arrival, there was romantic Hawaiian music playing in the room, and flower petals were on the bed. The next day we looked at the grounds and decided on the location for our ceremony. It was absolute paradise! We've been married almost 8 months and not a week goes by that we don't mention the Holualoa Inn. We're so happy we chose to have our wedding here, I can't say enough good things about the staff and this location. The Holualoa Inn gave us memories that we will cherish for the rest of our lives and the most beautiful landscape for our wedding.Holualoa Inn's reply:

My fiance and I got engaged at the beginning of COVID lockdown in 2020. We spent a lot of time trying to decide the type of wedding we wanted, whenever it would be safe to have one. We aligned early on about a few key elements: natural beauty, elevation/a view, intimate and warm, ties to our personal life. Holualoa Inn hit all of these elements and then some. Audrey was so helpful with deciding on possible dates, exploring all potential costs, and she was even willing to help us tour the venue on our short trip to Hawaii (after we had booked a date). They have a great list of preferred vendors, which was a huge relief for a long-distance bride like me. Fast forward to our wedding day and everything was magical. Getting ready at the Red Barn was a dream. We chose to stay there that night and it was incredible to wake up to the breeze and serene environment. The homemade breakfast was healthy and delicious, and don't get me started on their coffee. We ordered some of their property-grown coffee as gifts for our wedding guests, and it was a huge hit! 100% Kona coffee and it really tied together with having our wedding there. Overall, I have nothing but positive feedback and if you're even considering getting married on the island, you HAVE to explore Holualoa Inn. -

The most amazing venue!
The first thing we heard from our planners when we mentioned Holualoa Inn was two things: first, they said this is no doubt the MOST beautiful location on the big island, we would not be disappointed. And second, that it was going to eat up a lot of our budget. Both of these were true. But we were able to move things around, sacrifice smaller desires for larger needs. It all worked out so perfectly and every single guest at our wedding was in awe of the natural beauty of this wonderful Inn, in addition to the wedding decor etc. The location is perched up on a hill, out of sight from the actual Inn, which is a short walk down the hill away. Much cooler up there, and our guests left their jackets on all throughout - whereas the beach weddings get so HOT! Their events team is a 10 out of 10, they were honest, professional, and helped us realize our dream wedding down to each detail. They work with pretty much every planner on the island it seems, which is a huge bonus. (We actually rented out the entire Inn during our stay, so that our families could all be together for a few days, which made attending the wedding, with all the running back and forth, so much easier). We mention that because it is most likely a very different experience if you were just driving in for the day of the wedding and then back out. By staying there, we were able to take our time in the couple days before the wedding.
In terms of any advice, I think we can say that the events team (which is different from the general Inn team) were all great. They will work with you very well and are very responsive. There are a lot of vendor policies for the wedding with this Inn, so be prepared to make small sacrifices as well but nothing was really a dealbreaker for us. With all that said, we would say that if you fall in love with this place and can fit it into your budget, don't worry about if the venue policies and team will get you what you want - they will. Focus more on your vendors and how all the various pieces come together. We say that because that was where all the complexity came in. But we pulled it off and so can you. If this is your dream destination, make it happen!Holualoa Inn's reply:

A Hidden Gem For Wedding Couples
My wife and I are both wedding professionals, so choosing the right venue had a unique importance to us. We wanted a venue that 1) we both had never worked at 2) had a view of the ocean and landscape. We were fortunate to do a scouting trip to the Big Island, and once we step foot on the grounds of Holualoa Inn, we knew this was the place we were looking for. Over the next year, Linda, Kat, Paul, and rest of the team, were incredibly patient with us, answering hundreds of questions, whether it was via phone or email.
During the actual wedding, we had such warm hospitality, from the delicious breakfasts, to the impeccable rooms. Every room has a unique characteristic, whether it is a private porch, or a panoramic view. The bridal suite was the Red Barn, which was extremely spacious and conveniently located next to the ceremony site, and was perfect. Our bridal party and immediate family also stayed at the rooms in the inn, and loved every second of it. During the ceremony and reception, our guests couldn't stop raving about the view from the Malulani Pavilion!
Thank you Holualoa Inn for helping us bring our wedding to life, and giving us an experience that we will never forget. We will definitely be back for an anniversary stay at the Inn!Holualoa Inn's reply:
