Holly Tate Fine Catering was a breeze to work with prior to the wedding. They listened to our needs and desires and crafted a menu that was well-suited to our tastes and blended our different familial cultures beautifully. On the day of the wedding, the caterers were organized and kind, and the food was DELICIOUS! I've had so many of my friends and family note that it was the best wedding food they've ever had. All of the food was tasty and perfectly cooked. -

The value of Holly Tat's catering service was well worth the money. Initially we had planned to serve Nigerian dishes because I'm Nigerian. John and Holly were not only open to catering (haha, get it?) to our needs, but also did research on Nigerian food and were up for a challenge. We ultimately decided not to serve Nigerian food at our wedding but that was no problem. Holly Tate has a plethora of dishes, menu types, and serving styles to choose from. We were easily able to find dishes we liked, and they were FUN. John also consulted us on ingredients and ways we could modify the dishes to fit our budget. He helped us understand volumes that would make sense for our guests as well. The tasting before the wedding was an awesome experience (and so much food!), we were so excited for the wedding. Heather was incredible with preparations too. She was present at our appointment with our rental vendor (for table settings, tableware, plates, decor, glasses, etc. ) and our final walkthrough with our venue. She definitely helped us coordinate on details we were not familiar with and it was sooo helpful. Heather helped us coordinate our beverage selections as well and set up our cocktail of choice for the wedding (including sourcing the non-liquor ingredients herself). The week of the wedding, an ingredient for one of the desserts was not available from a vendor, and Holly Tate immediately found a solution, with another ingredient to replace it. On the wedding day, Heather and the staff from Holly Tate were amazing! Everything went smoothly, the staff were so helpful, professional, yet warm. 2 weeks later, our guests are still raving about the bartending staff who created a fun atmosphere, and had a great rapport with guests. I don't know what was being served but the bar area was definitely on of the focal points of the wedding where people congregated :D. Most importantly, everyone LOVED the food (Can't thank Chef Ben enough for his amazing meals, incredibly talented!!!): my friends tell me they were tailing the wait staff to get more appetizers during cocktail hour haha. From the apple fennel salad, to the flank steak, salmon, ahi tuna skewers, lamb chops, gnocci, potato au gratin, all the desserts...people are still talking about the food. All I can say is Holly Tate was EXCEPTIONAL and I would highly recommend them for any event. Money well spent for great service and peace of mind.

Holly Tate was an amazing catering service. They gave us the best service right from the start of working together. They assisted us in picking out all of the supplies, and made us feel at ease every step of the way. Clarice was absolutely great on the wedding day and worked so incredibly hard, keeping everything running perfectly.
The food was delicious, hot and served plated and quickly so all tables were eating at relatively the same time. I highly highly recommend Holly Tate catering!! -

We recently worked with Holly Tate for the first time at our venue in Winston-Salem, NC. Their team was one of the most professional we’ve worked with. Though the event was a rainy one, they adapted and had a game plan to work well together and with our staff to deliver an event that satisfied the clients needs and exceeded expectations across the board. As I come down off the high from my daughter’s stunning wedding on November 4th at Adaumont Farm, I could not recommend Holly Tate Fine Catering any more enthusiastically. The food they served and the staff working the event made the entire day fabulous. Our guests could not stop commenting the delicious food, attentive staff, excellent bar service, and the preparation of the signature cocktail. All thanks to Holly Tate.
The initial phone call with John made me feel at ease and heard. He listened patiently to the many ideas of a first time MOB, gave thoughtful suggestions, and took time to share scenarios that had not occurred to me. He clearly cared about our guests and the best way to serve the dinner I was proposing.
The next call included Holly and the bride to be. We discussed more details of the meal, appetizers, desserts, drinks, bar service, and how the evening would flow. What I remember most about that call was how happy my daughter and I were after we hung up. We both felt reassured and thrilled with the decision we made to hire them!
The tastings were thoughtfully planned so my husband, the future bride and groom, and I were able to discuss dinner options, pairings, appetizers, courses, and taste each bite of food… Heather, the manager and Chef Ben were with us to answer questions and help guide us with our choices. And they guided us so well! Heather went above and beyond to accommodate requests throughout the process and at the reception. She is a gem and Ben is a talented chef.
The special attention given to my husband and me during the reception was unexpected and so appreciated. While we visited with our 170+ guests, the staff would bring us appetizers and be sure our glasses were replenished. It was a delightful touch.
The wedding day went off without a hitch and the cuisine was absolutely delicious! The appetizers, salad, pasta options, breads, and desserts could not have been more flavorful. I highly recommend Holly Tate’s staff. They truly are a team and work seamlessly together. They turned a fabulous meal into an evening of perfection. The staff was attentive, clearly cared about the details of the day, heard my personal requests, and made each guest feel special. We will never be able to thank them enough for all they did.

I was determined to have Holly Tate at my venue. After speaking with them my days were booked. They were able to work with me and I set a new date. Glad I did! The staff was helpful, catered to me on my special day, supplied me with more than enough food. We wanted something out of the ordinary. My husband and I chose 3 stations all of which were amazing. Their team walked around during cocktail hour and served the guest. I couldn’t have asked for more. Very pleased! -

Holly Tate’s Fine Catering made our wedding a huge success, their staff is amazing!
Their food is delicious. All our guests enjoyed everything. People mentioned that the crab cakes were the best they had ever tasted and their champagne chicken was delicious! We had many compliments from guests.
Heather and their entire team were incredible! Not only did they provide excellent dining and bartending service, but they went out of their way to assist our family and our guests in every way possible! All the guests were raving about them. The staff took time to play with some of the children during the reception and even helped me get a stain out of my dress before the ceremony with soda water and a car air conditioner! The owners are very accommodating and go out of their way to provide amazing service! I cannot say enough to thank them for all that they did in making this such an incredible day!
I highly recommend Holly Tate’s Fine Catering and plan on working with them again in the future!

Holly Tate was an absolute dream for my wedding day. Leading up to the wedding, whenever I had a question I received quick responses, the tasting was a wonderful experience and the day of the wedding their staff made sure that our guests were taken care of and that we were happy. Not to mention 3 months later I still get told that the food at my wedding was perfect (impressing my step father who owned his own catering business for 30+years). Easily one of the best vendors I booked. -

Where to even begin?? Holly and her husband John are the sweetest people you will ever meet. We had the best time with them from the very beginning and truly enjoyed working with them. They are so knowledgeable and passionate about their business and it shows. Not only were they SO helpful throughout the entire process, but the food is AMAZING. They turn the whole process into an experience, it was a BLAST - designing your own cocktails and creating a unique and customized menu for our wedding reception. They can do or make just about anything and prioritize making your event something to remember. The whole team is kind, fun, highly-talented at what they do. Not only great people, HIGH QUALITY food, fresh ingredients and locally sourced. People still rave about the cocktails and food from our wedding reception. Right from the start of planning, Holly and John were so easy to communicate with, very responsive. The selection of food they offer is extensive and everything we tried was delicious. I highly recommend the bourbon glazed salmon. And our guests are still talking about the banana pudding. As important as the food selection is, the staffing is also a critical part of pulling off a great event. My daughter and son-in-law (bride and groom) felt so taken care of. It's all such a busy time and the lead staff made sure they had food and drink and regularly checked in with them to see if they needed anything. Many guests commented on how great the servers were. Holly and John are wonderful. We met them and immediately knew we wanted to hire them. Chef Ben is wonderful and talented and the food is amazing. We met with 3 different caterers before Holly and John and none of them compare. Now you will have to dig deep into your pockets but believe me it is worth it. My husband and I were so very fortunate to have Holly Tate catering company for our wedding celebration. We were supposed to get married in 2020 and had to push our wedding to 2021. Holly and John were wonderful and worked with us every step of the way. They are extremely professional and organized and it was so wonderful to know that we were in excellent hands. Chef Ben's food is delicious! I worked professionally as a chef and was looking for good quality food for our wedding and we found it! All of the staff is extremely kind, and warm. Charlotte was our front of house manager and she was amazing! We were so well taken care of and we did not have to ask for a thing! All of our guests raved about the food and told us that the staff was so friendly! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! Holly Tate catered our August wedding, and we received so many compliments on the food and service! We just loved working with Holly and John. We really wanted the food and drinks at our wedding to be spectacular (which they were). Holly and John were also very flexible and wonderful to work with - we planned our entire wedding from out-of-state, and Holly and John worked with us to plan our tasting meal during a time when we were in NC visiting family... not to mention they were super wonderful about a date change from March to August due to the pandemic and large number of guests traveling from out-of-state. We cannot praise their professionalism, creativity, and kindness enough - not to mention their delicious food and wonderful staff who worked at our wedding. -

We were so lucky to have found John and Holly Tate. It was important to us that our our food and beverages on our wedding day be memorable and Holly Tate Fine Catering delivered. There really aren't enough nice things to say about them! John and Holly Tate provided perfect food drink and guidance throughout this entire process. They were excellent consultants, timely flexible and amazingly responsive. We had a celebrations of several world cuisines, and Holly pulled it off! Everyone asked me how come I was so stress free in the days leaving to the wedding and the answer was I had complete confidence in the team I was working with. I'd use Holly Tate Catering at any point in the future and John's expertise and helping us through the bartending and selection of drinks for our guests was amazing. They provided all the details instructions and timing I would have to take into account leading up to our daughter's wedding. Their service and care for me and our guest throughout the evening will be remembered and treasured for many years to come.

We used Holly Tate catering for my daughters wedding. We wanted an intimate feel and presentation was very important to us. The displays were absolutely gorgeous. The food was delicious, with lots of attention to detail. Everyone I have talked to commented on the food and the beautiful way it was displayed. Also we wanted a non traditional dessert for the wedding and they were able to accommodate us. They made individual mini cobblers in three flavors!! They were both cute and amazingly delicious! Lastly, the staff that attended the wedding was extremely friendly and professional. They were unobtrusive and quietly went about their work. At the end of the night when I looked around, everything was cleaned up and I honestly never saw them cleaning! Or carrying things out! You will not be disappointed if you choose Holly Tate for your event! I highly recommend them!! -

As soon as we started working with the Tates, I knew everything was going to be done to perfection. They helped guide my daughter and her fiance to make decisions that would be right for them. Holly Tate is the epitome of a boss lady. She runs her company so seamlessly and is incredibly professional. We were blown away by the food and our guests were so impressed. We had stations and an open bar for about 65 guests and everything was seamless. I really love that Holly gives you the option to provide your own alcohol (with a one-day license), while they provide mixers and bartenders. Her staff was also professional and pleasant - they brought food and cocktails to my husband and I first, which made me feel like a royal and was so sweet. Writing this review is making my mouth water just thinking about the sweet potato ham biscuits - you have to try them! -

Holly and John were professional, responsive (always within 24 hours), and helpful from start to finish. Holly came to help us pick all our rentals and helped us get the best price. The tasting we had was wonderful and Holly promised the food would taste exactly the same on the day of, and it did! We had one guest tell us she was sad she would probably never get to eat their chicken again. :) I am thrilled they were able to cater our wedding and would certainly recommend hiring them for any event. -

Melissa Sent on 06/29/2016Holly is the best! I contacted her relatively late in my wedding planning process after communication with another caterer broke down, and Holly made me so happy that I did. She was very responsive -- frequently answering her phone immediately, and always returning calls and emails quickly. She was very thorough in her questions about our vision -- much more so than any other caterer I contacted. I felt like she really wanted to understand what I wanted, and she definitely delivered. At first she was more expensive than the other catering quotes we received, but after comparing the quotes side-by-side, I realized it was because the other caterers had neglected to include charges for servers, serving dishes, and/or cake cutting that they later acknowledged they would have to add on. Once I had quotes that all included the same things, Holly's was competitive -- she was not the cheapest, but also not the most expensive. And our decision to go with her was strongly influenced by her awesome communication skills and responsiveness; I felt like the fact that she was so on the ball with the quote would translate into her being just as on the ball with the food and service, and she definitely delivered. The food, which was served family style, was incredible -- more than one guest told me that it was the best wedding food they'd ever had. I have to agree. And the flow of service was seamless. I strongly recommend Holly for any type of catering event anyone might have! -

Alex Sent on 05/11/2016Holly and her team were fabulous-- they worked with our budget to accommodate an incredible menu and offered up great ideas for our theme-- we wanted southern rustic, so they did a shrimp and grits bar!! Her team on site were professional, polite, and we still have people raving that it was the best wedding food they had ever had!!

She helped us tweak the menu to fit comfortably into our budget and was always available for questions and responded in a timely manor. The staff did a wonderful job—very professional and friendly. The food was outstanding! At the cocktail hour we did passed hors d’oeuvres and there was plenty of food-they just keep coming out with more! We did a buffet and the food was plenty hot and tasty. We had so many of our guest rave about the food. I could have not been happier with the quality of food, staff or Holly. I would use Holly again in a minute and recommend her to my friends and family! -

Lauren Sent on 09/23/2013I worked with Holly for my wedding reception & cocktail hour, and was very happy from beginning to end. From the start she was very helpful & responsive, knowing that I was planning our wedding long-distance and wasn't as familiar with the venue, vendors, etc. She kindly dealt with multiple proposal revision requests as we worked through out budget, and we ended up going with a Family Style meal. The food served at the wedding was just as delicious as the tasting, and there was plenty of food to go around (specifically a mixed green salad, Chicken Boscalo, Bourbon maple glazed salmon over coconut basmati rice, Pasta Pomodoro, and grilled veggies.) Even my Italian grandfather remarked at how delicious the pasta sauce was!
Holly also managed all of the rentals and worked with the vintage china hire I chose. Her husband, who owns a local bar, helped us determine what beer/wine/liquor quantities to use based on our crowd, which worked out perfectly (although we did cut back the Gin a bit and upped whisky, based on our audience). Long story short, her team showed up the day of my wedding, put on a delicious dinner, and slipped away into the night with zero hassle on our part. Thanks for making our big day special, Holly! -

Holly Tate Fine Catering from Winston-Salem North Carolina did an amazing job at her daughter's wedding September 28th 2019.
From the scheduled tasting of their delicious food ( which gave us a quick answer as to who we wanted to cater her wedding) to the last dish packed up, they were AMAZING!!
Though we had over a hour rain delay. John, Charlotte, the kitchen staff and servers remained calm, cordial and extremely professional. They were right there with suggestions and plans to keep everything moving smoothly. They were very attentive to keeping our bride calm by checking on her and the entire bridal party. Bringing them trays of snacks and drinks. Their suggestion of putting out the fruit and veggie display for guest while waiting on the rain to stop was a great idea, making the wait on the rain to stop more tolerable. We still had passed h'orderves we could serve at the actual cocktail hour. Everyone went above and beyond their duties to make Taylor's wedding Day Extremely Special. I love how Mr. John quietly went to each of the tables to release them to the Buffett. One of my favorite thoughtful things was when Charlotte surprised me by bringing a glass of my favorite wine to me and said "Here you go you've earned this" Her words were so sweet and kind. Made me feel very special. So if you are looking for delicious food with professional down to earth Servers who know their stuff. Who can keep things moving along smoothly and calm, you can't go wrong with Holly & John Tate and their AMAZING Staff.
