    Amazing Wedding!

We spoke primarily with Dayna as we were planning this wedding long distance. Dayna is super sweet and responded quickly to our emails or phone calls. She helped us plan the reception at the Rainbow Suite and made sure everything went according to plan. I could not thank her enough for making our dream wedding come true! On the day of the food was amazing, the staff was super friendly and kind to everyone and they made sure to follow the timeline. The food was served hot, the bartender was amazing and the cake was delicious! Everything was just perfect!

We were also married in the Akala Chapel and it was also beautiful! It such an adorable chapel with nice windows and a amazing view! I highly recommend planning a wedding or any other event at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, there is no resort like it!

Hilton Hawaiian Village Rainbow Suite Reception

Dayna Lee was very responsive to our calls and emails. It was easy to plan our day and the food was wonderful. The space turned out exactly as we pictured. The banquet manager and staff were so kind and courteous. The cost of the food mainly gets you with the 25% service charge but honestly the overall service was worth it. I strongly recommend her for your wedding. The chapel was also onsite and the Hilton Hotel was an amazing place to stay.

Denise was very helpful all throughout the planning stage and gave us 2 suites instead of just 1 and patio for our reception. Ron, the banquet manager was so nice and awesome as well. Truly happy that we booked them for our wedding reception!

We had our wedding ceremony in the Ocean Crystal Chapel and were appointed a Wedding Coordinator for this entire process. It was such an ease organising our wedding all the way from Australia.
The chapel was stunning and our ceremony was more than we ever expected.
Our wedding reception was in the Rainbow Suite 3 and Dayna was our coordinator for this part of the wedding.
Everything turned out to be a million times better than we had expected and there really is nothing we would change.
The view was spectacular, the service was phenomenal - the wait staff made sure the 3 kids were 110% happy, the private bar service was amazing and exceeded expectation, the food was absolutely delightful as with the presentation!
The room itself was perfect and the toilets were even stunning!
I could not fault anything about our wedding or the staff at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.
Most of our guests stayed in the resort also and we would recommend both having a wedding here and staying here to anyone who is considering!!

We wanted to be able to have our ceremony and reception at the same place and since The Hilton Hawaiian Village is the only hotel with a chapel on property in town, we decided to book them as our reception venue. We initially worked with Susan, but when we told her our guest count, we were taken care of by Linda.

Linda was a pleasure to work with. She was VERY accommodating. I emailed Linda A LOT and she was still nice to me at the end of it all. I thought she would have been tired of me, but she wasn’t. She is very professional and was able to help us with our wedding.

The food tastings at the Hilton are not included, so we set up an appointment with Linda to have one. At our food tasting, the staff was so nice and professional. We felt like royalty because they treated us so well. A good number of their staff took the time out of their day just to say hi to us!

On our wedding day, Linda was able to provide us with everything that we needed and didn’t charge us extra for things such as easels or tables for our vendors. She was also able to work with us to book our hotel rooms. I was extremely grateful for this since the hotel was sold out that weekend.

Our guests kept commenting on how great everything at our reception was, especially the food. Linda did a great job of helping us to create our perfect buffet menu. Albert, the banquet captain of the night, was also AMAZING. He took such good care of us! We can't thank him enough for that!

Linda and her staff are so professional and nice. They made us feel important and we loved that. Linda was able to help us create the wedding of our dreams. She is a great person and easy to work with too! If you want to have a great wedding at a hotel in Waikiki, then I would recommend the Hilton Hawaiian Village. They treat everyone so well and they are super professional and nice too! I hope to be able to have another event there one of these days.

Our reception at the Hilton Hawaiian Village could not have gone any better! We had a smaller reception (I think there was 86 total, including vendors) so we booked it at the Rainbow Suite. The room was beautiful! We decided that since we were getting married in Hawaii, it would be silly to have the reception in an enclosed room. The Rainbow Suite is surrounded by glass windows, it's within about 50 yards of Waikiki Beach, and is on the ground floor of the Rainbow Tower, so guests can stroll out to look at the beach.
The food here was some of the best stuff I've tasted. We had the Filet Mignon with Peppercorn Sauce and the Hawaiian Sugar Laquered Island Fish for our plated meals and both meals were cooked to perfection. The staff was pleasant and accomodating, and they were able to secure us a standard room for the groom/groomsmen to get ready in, as well as a bridal suite for the bridal party. The entire thing went off without a hitch!

The women who did mine and my daughters' hair and makeup at Mandara Spa were wonderful! They were professional but so easy to talk with and the appointment was more like a girls' day with friends. It was so much fun and they made us feel and look like royalty for the big event. I sunburned my back the day before and my makeup gal covered it beautifully so it wouldn't show in my wedding pictures. Thank you so much for helping to make that day unforgettable!

We had our ceremony outdoors in the big Lagoon Green and our reception in the Coral Ballroom 1 and 2. The wedding was beautiful and we found it was worth it! From the coordinator and the Hilton staff, we would highly recommend this venue! There was many activities for everyone including families to enjoy at the Hilton Hawaiian Village.

My daughter had her ceremony at the Ocean Crystal Chapel and then the reception was held in the Rainbow Suites and on the adjacent patios. From our first meeting with Lynn, when we described what we were looking for, she understood and helped us to achieve a glorious wedding reception. We wanted to stage a polynesian dance show for our visiting friends and family, and Lynn was instrumental in helping us find and secure the services of an excellent company. The rooms themselves are excellent for anyone wanting an outdoor experience but who are worried about rain, wind, and temperature. The (numerous) windowed doors can be opened when the temperature outside becomes comfortable and they fold back completely to give the entire area a patio feeling. The view from inside the room is the lagoon area and it is beautiful. The food was delicious and plentiful and the waitstaff was prompt, responsive, and friendly. Lynn allowed us to completely customize our package and we were able to have everything that we asked for. On Friday evenings, the Hilton hosts a fabulous fireworks show that is fully visible from the Rainbow Suites and we felt as if the show was part of our reception. I have incredible pictures of my daughter and her new husband watching the firewords display in their weddding finery. I would encourage anyone who is interested in the Hilton as a ceremony/reception venue to contact Lynn, as there are various sites on property and you are likely to find one that will fit into your budget.

We were married in the open air gazebo on 9/10/2013 & it couldn't have been more perfect! The gazebo is in the middle of luscious greenery, next to a small waterfall with the beautiful crystal chapel in the background. Kapiolani was a pleasure to work with. She is professional & accommodating. Kapiolani is very responsive, as I would have answers to my questions either the same day or the following day. I highly recommend Best Bridal!

We used the Hilton Hawaiian Village for our reception venue - the Rainbow Suites. What a beautiful venue for a reception over looking the lagoon! The room is neutral colors so it's so easy to transform the room the way you want it with linens and lighting. We also used this hotel for our guest sleeping rooms. They offered a decent group rate but we were disappointed when we saw promotional rates much lower than our group rate right before the wedding. The service during the reception was excellent and the food was good as well. I was a little disappointed with the presentation of a few items...but we did not get to do a tasting so I guess is a possibility.

The Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel provided a beautiful ballroom for us that accomodated our guests very well. They're service was well carried out and provided good information. The communication was also excellent; our coordinator made sure that everything was planned out smoothly with understanding on both parties (her's and our's). The food was excellent and enjoyed by everyone.

We chose the chapel on the Hilton grounds first, and then decided we might as well choose the Hilton for our accomodation and for the reception as well. It was super easy, but a bit pricey - especially the reception (which we had in the Rainbow Suites 1 & 2 and patio - great space facing the lagoon, and was just renovated). Nonetheless, the HVV is absolutely stunning - words cannot describe when you get out of the taxi from the airport and step out into the open air lobby facing the ocean. OMG. We, as well as our 35 guests, absolutely LOVED this place and we all vow to come back sometime soon!!

We had our wedding at the chapel located on Hilton Hawaiian Village's property. The chapel is not run by Hilton, so this review is for our reception held at the Hilton after the ceremony. For a review of the chapel, see Best Bridal Hawaii. Hilton did a fairly decent job of accommodating us for our small reception in the Rainbow Suite III. We did have some issues in the planning phase though, so we're not 100% happy with them. The biggest problem was with decorating the reception area. I asked our Hilton event coordinator if she could have the center pieces placed on the 4 tables for us. She said she could do it, but then on the morning of the wedding said that there was too much set up involved. I'll admit that it was more than just a one-piece center piece, but it wasn't much. some tea light candles, some vases, and some flower petals. I had written instructions and left a picture, but she said it couldn't be done. I had to send my grandmothers over to the banquet room to set up the tables because they were the only ones not needed during the photo session that morning. If we could have gone into the room the night before I would have gladly set the tables ourselves. On the positive side, the food and service at the time of the event was excellent. The servers were very professional and the food was delicious and well portioned. If we had a better experience with our coordinator, this would have probably been a 5/5.

Its a major corporate/big named hotel so take this review with a grain of salt. The location and grounds are amazing and stunning so they in that aspect we couldn't have asked for a better location. My wife and I got married there in August and we did a destination wedding from Seattle but had a lot of people coming from all over. During this time there was quite a bit of construction going on/around the main entrance of the hotel as well as the rainbow tower we/most of our guests were staying in. It was a pain b/c of the traffic and there was only 1 or 2 functioning elevators for the whole tower. We also had made welcome bags that the front desk agreed to hold and give to our guests that were checking in but the second day some of our guests asked where theirs was...turns out the front desk staff misplaced them. They found them in the end but then wanted to try to charge us for delivering them to their rooms. We contacted our event coordinator and after about 15mins agreed to waive the charge. I thought that was a pain and something that a) bride/groom shouldn't have to deal with and b) without question should be offered at no cost to deliver them. Also, there was a fist fight between 2 valet employees right in the front office as we got in our cab on our way to our rehearsal dinner. Not that the Hilton had any control over it but we got no apologies from the staff even though it was 5ft away from our entire party even with small children.

Anyways, on to reception related stuff. For the most part our account manager (Anna Hinkley) was very responsive and helpful. Having your wedding at the Hilton means that they want you to use all their options. We managed to bring in our own linens which Anna help us find so that was nice. We wanted to have our own cake done but that mean outrageous forkage fees like $3.00 per head. The other thing to keep in mind is the 23% service tax on all food and beverage, yes that's on top of the regular tax. I know she was upfront about that but we were a little caught off guard by our final invoice. The charges for water during the cocktail hour were $4.75 + 23% + sales tax! For some reason the free water included the reception was off limits until the reception started...it's the wedding business people you're going to get hit with charges and just have to pay for things. The food was great and the Rainbow Room was perfect! You cant beat the scenery and convenience, we had our ceremony on site at the Ocean Crystal Chapel.

I would recommend having your wedding at the Hilton but just want to give some expectations that there's not too much flexibility and of course you'll pay a premium but for the convenience and the scenery it was a worthwhile trade off.

Hope this was helpful for you! GL

I recently had my wedding here and I had an awful experience. I would not recommend this venue to anyone. I was originally told I would have a food tasting (who chooses the food without getting to try it?) but months before my wedding was told I would not have a food tasting I had to just pick from the menu for the wedding. No cake tasting, and the cake was awful. And you had to use theirs for 600 or pay three dollars a person for outside cake. Don't try to book rooms there under a group package. I originally had a very nice woman help me with my group room block, she then left and I was given Mr. Ray Kitsu, who was anything but nice and attentive. We were told rooms only in 2 certain towers, but got other towers.People who asked for ocean views were charged for them and not given them. The Hotel would not correct these mistakes due to "group block" and needed to speak to Anna Hinkely or Ray Kitsu. NEITHER would help my guests get the correct rooms. During reception Ms. Hinkley was arguing with me, ON MY WEDDING DAY. She was completely unprofessional. After the wedding was over I had to constantly ask for our bill. This took a long time. I was on my honeymoon trying to get this bill. When I got it I saw mistakes, only one thing would Ms. Hinkley fix. She talked me into getting a certain drink for guest arrival, told me I needed 2 orders, said she would comp one if did it. So I agreed. My Mother and my own wedding planner were with me during this. After the bill was done and I asked about this, she told me she never said that. But she did, and I have 2 witnesses. I am so disgusted with the unprofessionalism of Hilton staff. However, our Event Captain, Frankie, was amazing. Don't ever use this venue and if you are, tape conversations with all staff you encounter so they can't take back things that you were promised. And don't use Ms. Hinkley or Ray Kitsu. They will not be helpful in the event that you actually need them.

Hilton Hawaiian Village Ruined our Wedding! We gave my wife's wedding dress to Hilton to steam on the day before our wedding to be ready for our special day. Instead of steaming it, they washed in in the washing machine, ruining it. They offered to get us a new dress and alter it to fit the same as the old. The seamstresses who were supposed to alter the dress were not familiar with wedding dresses and destroyed the new dress as well leaving us with a terribly fitting dress . Hilton agreed to compensate us for the dresses and fly us back to Hawaii to make up for the day they ruined and told us to enjoy the rest of our time on the Islands. Upon returning home, they denied ever making these promises. Do not stay at the property and patronize these people that have no integrity and do not make good on promises they make. Do not let them ruin your dream day as well.
