The Best Time of My Life!!!
My event was a 60th Birthday/Retirement Party. Cammie Peel and her team were exceptional - from my initial request for proposal to the conclusion of the event. This being my first party ever, I was nervous and had LOTS of questions. Cammie and her team were friendly, knowledgeable, professional and VERY responsive. The menu was not only diverse, but absolutely delicious!!!My event was a 60th Birthday/Retirement Party. We found the staff at Hilton Rockwall very professional and attentive. We hosted our son's rehearsal dinner in the Pergola room and we were so pleased with all that Hilton Rockwall had to offer. It was AMAZING that EVERY employee at the Hilton DFW/Rockwall was willing to do whatever was necessary to make the wedding a success. From event planning to catering staff to front desk at any hour of the night, the staff's 1st response to just about any request was "whatever we need to do!". The venues available on this property are many, diverse, and adaptable - so your wedding or event can be exactly what you want it to be! Our event included the wedding in the open-air pergola on the lake, spacious cocktail space, and a great reception space - followed by the bride and groom leaving by boat from the adjacent docks! There are few venues that can offer the type of flexibility that is available here. In addition, our event included exceptional quality catering and seamless service for the reception. SHANNON was amazing. She went above and beyond to help magic for our daughters wedding. She was always accommodating and professional. The wait staff was wonderful and very accommodating. The facilities were beautiful and clean. We were extremely pleased with the entire event. Thank you for helping us create a magical night for our daughter and new son in-law. The Hilton Lakefront in Rockwell, TX is a beautiful facility. Our wedding guests stayed there for our son's wedding at The White Sparrow Barn in Quinlan, TX. We had the Rehearsal Dinner and the Welcome Party for our out of town guests there. Both events were handled very professionally. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. We were even allowed to set up early since the room was not booked the night before. Really took a lot of stress off of me, the mother of the groom. Chante and all of the staff were so attentive. Worked with Chante Mayorga for my wedding. She is VERY responsive, friendly, and on top of EVERYTHING. The hotel is clean, elegant, it's off the water (Lake Ray Hubbard), and it's stunning inside. Great place for a wedding and reception. It is a bit costly, but worth every penny if you can afford it. Food, chairs, reception area, tables, chairs, decor (basic), ceremony location, and honeymoon suite are included in the package. The food was amazing and the drinks, hors d'oeuvres, wine, and lemonade (we used for our cocktail hour) was DEVOURED by our guests.Worked with Chante Mayorga for my wedding. I can be a bit picky when it comes to planning and coordinating events and I must say that I was extremely pleased with how our event was handled by all involved (including the front desk staff). I especially want to call out the exceptional assistance that our contact, Chante Mayorga, and her team provided. All of the staff was professional and very accommodating. We selected the Hilton Rockwall to host our Post Wedding Brunch for our son and new daughter-in-love! The planning staff - Chante Mayorga, in particular - was great to work with. They were always very responsive to our needs and requests. She listened to what we had in mind and followed through with exactly what we expected. She even suggested options that weren't on the main menu - this fulfilled a need without a lot of extra cost! Perfect! When we arrived at the venue on Saturday morning to check on things, we requested two additional items from Fito (who was the event manager) a table for pictures of the bride/groom and party favors, and for the conversation area (which was located just outside the pergola) to have cushions placed so folks could visit there in a more casual setting. Both were done within 30 minutes! Also, about half way through the event, FIto asked if we would like the pergola doors opened, since it was such a nice day - which he did right away. Again, these folks provided excellent service, reaching out to us as we planned and providing a perfect experience.
The venue itself was breathtaking - yes, really breathtaking! We were in the Pergola area, which looks out at the lake. Gorgeous for a Saturday morning. The children in attendance were able to walk around (and run a bit when needed) to get out the wiggles that sometimes happen with more formal events - like our wedding the night before! The buffet provided by the HILTON was SO GREAT!! The brunch menu - which included eggs, pastries, french toast, etc - was all perfectly prepared, served at the exactly right temp. Love, love, love this hotel! Planning a meeting or want to sit by the bar at the pool? This is the place to go! Would you like a lake front view or fine dining nearby? They have it all! The perfect place to have a wedding! We had a small, 40-guest sit-down dinner reception in the Catamaran room, which overlooks Lake Ray Hubbard, and it was beautiful. Hillary, the events manager, is terrific - very professional and super-easy to work with. The food was top-notch and definitely worth the money. Hillary and the Hilton were just wonderful; we couldn't have asked for a better venue!The perfect place to have a wedding! Wow, what harsh comments. Well, I can only judge the service based on what I experienced. Which was good. We both live in London, so organising a wedding from the other side of the Atlantic is a logistical nightmare. Nicole was our contact and she was pleasant and accomodating. I tried to get a better deal and she was flexible. Everything in America is so much cheaper, so the value for money was good for us. the hotel looks really plush and nice and all my guests loved it. the food was really good and the parlour we had the event in was decent. The waiting staff were Ok too. the only fly in the ointment was the background music we requested. I had to remind the staff several times to play it during the meal and they forgot to turn it off when the band started. This wasn't a problem until my mother in law sang an acapella song for us, the low level music sort of ruined a special moment and it took too long for it to be switched off.
that said, it was not such a problem that I thought it worth mentioning to Nicole when we had our debrief. I think that somethings are bound to go wrong, so you shouldn't worry too much about the details. though, one of the other weddings reviewed seemed to be a disaster, all I can say is we had a really good experience. maybe that was down to Nicole, or the hotel settling in to it's role. Anyway, I still thought I'd give them 5 stars, despite the AV problem. Purely because of Nicole
Thanks again, martin and kyumiWow, what harsh comments. Well, I can only judge the service based on what I experienced. Which was good. We both live in London, so organising a wedding from the other side of the Atlantic is a logistical nightmare. Nicole was our contact and she was pleasant and accomodating. I tried to get a better deal and she was flexible. Everything in America is so much cheaper, so the value for money was good for us. the hotel looks really plush and nice and all my guests loved it. the food was really good and the parlour we had the event in was decent. The waiting staff were Ok too. the only fly in the ointment was the background music we requested. I had to remind the staff several times to play it during the meal and they forgot to turn it off when the band started. This wasn't a problem until my mother in law sang an acapella song for us, the low level music sort of ruined a special moment and it took too long for it to be switched off.
that said, it was not such a problem that I thought it worth mentioning to Nicole when we had our debrief. I am so surprised to read about your post on the Hilton Bella Harbor Hotel. It is unfortunate that you had that experience. I had my wedding ceremony and reception at the Hilton Bella Harbor April 2010 and it was absolutely wonderful! My ceremony was on the patio overlooking the lake at sunset, the pictures that were taken-MAGICAL. Our cocktail hour and dinner reception followed inside and my guests could not stop talking about how beautiful the hotel was,how attentive the front desk staff, restaurant staff, the housekeeping staff and in genera,l everyone that they came into contact was.
The dinner portion of our reception was perfect down to the last piece of cake that was cut and served to my guests. My mother and I did not have a thing to worry about. Between the banquet staff, my wedding planner and Dorienne, we were able to have the time of our life. You are right on the food portion, the food was soo good! We did the displays and action stations, my favorite- the potato martini! :-)
I also worked with Dorienne, she was a pleasure to work with. My mother LOVED her and everytime we met with her, my mom gave her a big hug. She never sent an unprofessional email or failed to return a call. And she was never rude in any way what so ever. In fact, I have had several friends call and inquire about weddings there and some have talked to Dorienne and they all say after meeting and talking to her she is great. I have one friend that booked her wedding there coming up next year and she feels the same way. They give you so much information to help you with the hotel part of the planning process that I didn't even hire a wedding coordinator until a month before my wedding. My wedding planner even loved working with her.
I hope that you are able to look back and see the positive, fun part of your wedding day, I know there has to be times you think about that make you smile. I know everyone sees things differently so I felt that it would be wrong for me not to comment on my experience. It was wonderful and I would not change a thing.
