The best decision we have made was choosing the Sablewood as our wedding venue. Lisa, Holly and the rest of the staff are absolutely incredible and the venue itself is breathtaking. We knew as soon as we stepped foot in the venue that we wanted this to be the place we got married. It was the most perfect day and I will always recommend The Sablewood to anyone! It was our dream wedding we have The Sablewood and their staff to thank for that. -

From the moment we met Lisa, we knew we were in good hands! The Sablewood is absolutely stunning and the custom work done by Lisa’s father is gorgeous. The property also has numerous beautiful locations for bridal portraits.
Lisa and her team are fantastic. We got to enjoy our entire day while The Sablewood team took care of everything! Our wedding was 5 months ago and our family and bridal party are still in awe about how seamless and relaxing our day was.
Choosing this venue was our best decision, it truly exceeded all of our expectations! -

Its hard to even put into words how wonderful Lisa and her ancillary staff are. From start to finish, this planning process was truly seamless for us. Not only is the outdoor property breathtaking year round with with rolling hills and gorgeous flower beds (pictures don’t do it justice by the way; in-person it is spectacular); but the aesthetic of the cocktail and reception areas were just as stunning. The way I kept describing it to people was “upscale barn wedding, rustic elegance.” Martha Stewart would certainly approve; and I hope one day this venue gets recognized in the media- because it’s truly something special. The Sablewood and its staff are a well-oiled machine, to say the least. They were organized, communicative, managed time & expectations well, and were so easy to get along with. I am having a hard time putting my gratitude into words. Lisa, Holly and the fabulous people at The Sablewood made my wedding day an absolute dream! Lisa is wonderful!! The Sablewood is absolutely perfect. Everything you need is there. They have really thought of it all. I knew the second I pulled up to the property that this was where I wanted to get married. We couldn't be any happier with our experience at this venue. I would recommend this venue to any couple! -

Best team and most breathtaking venue
Words cannot express how grateful we were to have found the Sablewood during our venue search. Lisa and her team are absolutely incredible, and I can't begin to describe how amazing they truly are. We toured the Sablewood on a cold, snowy March day in 2022, looking for our perfect venue for a September 2023 wedding. Lisa showed us the ceremony circle, white barn (rain plan ceremony location), black barn (reception room), bridal suites, and then gave us a tour of the grounds. My husband and I were in our first weekend of touring venues but both knew this was the one, and could envision our wedding day instantly. Lisa is the most caring and accommodating person that I have ever met. I had many calls with her over that year and a half with all the questions that come up when wedding planning, and she was incredibly helpful with answering all of them. In fact, we booked all of our vendors from a list of Lisa's recommended vendors. The day of our wedding Lisa was there right at 9 am ready to help us carry in dresses. She set up the bridal suite, stocking the fridge with waters, and making sure the air temp was just right. Her sister Holly drove my husband and I, along with our photo and video team, up and down the hill on property. Carrying my veil, and bouquet with her. I am incredibly grateful for all of that help, as it was one less thing to worry about. We could really focus on having fun. The Sablewood team is truly a family run venue with Holly and Lisa, and their father who puts so much work into the property keeping it looking stunning. They are always thinking ahead on how they can make the venue better, even though it is already perfect as is. The attention to detail is unmatched, and I would recommend the Sablewood to any couple looking for the perfect experience for their big day.The Sablewood's reply:

From the moment we first stepped on the property in the Winter of 2019, my wife and I knew this was the place we were going to be married.
Fast forward to October 2021. We couldn’t have had a more spectacular day. We had our ceremony outside in the circle behind the barn and it was beautiful. Inside was even more stunning. There isn’t enough words to describe how great this place really is and how beautiful not only the barn, but the property is.
Lisa and her staff were wonderful on the day of our wedding and took care of everything! From setting up decorations to dealing with the vendors, to helping guiding our guests where they needed to go. Whatever we needed, they helped with. They were 1st class!
If your looking for a intimate place to have a wedding with beautiful views for your photos, this is the place for you! -

Dream Venue
Lisa and the Sablewood crew are the most unbelievable group of people I have ever met. Hands down, they made our wedding day the most amazing experience we’ve ever had. I would read reviews of vendors with former brides raving about how a vendor is 1000000/10, and after working with Lisa, I know understand why they do. The Sablewood itself is a GOREGEOUS venue; we wanted outdoor views of the mountains with a rustic barn reception, without too much of that “barn” feel and the Sablewood checked all the boxes. Our original plan was to get married in their outdoor oval space but ended up inside the white barn for our ceremony since it was really cold that day. The indoor space was just as gorgeous and pictures do not do it justice!
But it’s really Lisa and the Sablewood crew that set this place apart. Lisa works with you through the entire planning process, offering a detailed preferred vendor list as well as suggestions on decor (if you’re like me and not sure how to go about decorating for a wedding). Day of the wedding, there was no need to hire a day of coordinator - Lisa and her team did everything. She took my boxes of decorations and said she’d take care of the rest. Her and her team put out all of our decor (so much better than I could have done myself) and even added to our florals to enhance the look of our ceremony space. She greeted and organized every vendor - everything just came together as I sat up in the bridal suite drinking champagne. When we went up to the pond for our first look, us and our photographer were driven up by The Sablewood crew. While we did that, Lisa took our wedding party to the ceremony space and went through a rehearsal with them so they knew exactly what to do. The Sablewood greeted our guests when they arrived and ushered them into our ceremony space. For the ceremony, she organized everyone and spaced people out. Immediately after the ceremony, her team was there with their car to drive us and our photographers up to the top of the property for the most amazing golden hour pictures. At the end of the night, Lisa and her team helped pack everything up so that clean up was done in less than a half hour. Honestly, they probably did so much more behind the scenes that day that I don’t know about but suffice it to say that The Sablewood is not only an amazing venue but it is owned and operated by an even more amazing set of individuals who will make your wedding day truly wonderful.

We searched several places for an elegant barn wedding - the details in this place need to be seen to be appreciated - Lisa and her father have painstakingly given attention to EVERYTHING on this property to make sure every moment is beautiful - from the antique chandelier, beautiful bridal suite, outdoor wedding and cocktail areas the tables and chaIrs, landscaping...I could go on and on- they also are constantly thinking of and creating new things on property to make your day even more perfect- can wait for 9/21 for my daughters special day here - when you speak to Lisa you will feel like you are the only bride she is thinking about - Magical ❤️ -

A dream venue!
I cannot recommend The Sablewood enough for a wedding venue. Not only were we blown away by how beautiful the property is the second we pulled up, but meeting Lisa, who is so warm and welcoming, sold us immediately. The Sablewood truly has it all. It is both intimate and spacious at the same time. Every inch of this place has been thoughtfully designed and elegantly decorated for the perfect day and night. From the bridal suites to the ceremony circle, the pond for a first look, the white barn for cocktail hour and the gorgeous reception barn. This place just screams beautiful. Our photos are truly stunning from being able to move all over the property to get different viewpoints and we could not be happier. Lisa and her team are just AMAZING to work with. Everyone was so friendly and helpful - they completely worked with our vendors to set up all of our spaces and even helped pack things up at the end of the night. Lisa was there the whole night, coming with us around the property for photos and checking in. It really was such a dream venue and staff to work with, we could not have been happier. If we could do it all over again, we would not have changed a single thing. -

The Sablewood is by far the most beautiful venue I have ever been too, and I am so lucky I had the pleasure of being married there. The property is straight out of a fairytale, with the most beautifully restored barn (epic chandelier), immaculate landscaping providing endless photo ops, multiple ceremony locations, fire pit, I could go on and on but you just need to see it. Lisa and her team are PROs when it comes to making the day go smoothly. Somehow they seemed to have everything we left behind or just lost the day of (table numbers, twinkle lights, etc.) and helped make the day a total dream for my husband and I. Her sister drove us around the property to get all the photos we wanted (talk about amazing service), and just made sure we were able to enjoy every single minute. This team is beyond efficient & professional, having all our decor packed up neatly and ready to go for us the next morning. But more than anything they are a pleasure to be around & we are so lucky to have worked with them!!! Wish we could do it all over again! -

So, we absolutely ADORE Lisa, but to make it even better, she and her father Charlie are two incredibly hard working and genuine people. Their site is constantly evolving, getting better each time we visited, and they clearly love it. Our wedding was 10/14/2022 and it was peak fall foliage straight out of a NE dream. Our guests loved the site and it was perfect.
I will say we do have experience working with another potential NE site and it just wasn’t anything close to this caliber site. We absolutely recommend Lisa and the Sablewood; it’s worth every single penny.

The Perfect Venue
Beautiful venue! The grounds are stunning no matter what time of year it is. Incredible thought and detail has been thought into, not only the venue space, but the tables, chairs and small details such as the multiple arbors to choose from and easels for welcome signs. The tables and chairs are some of the most elegant and high quality compared to similar venues found in the area.
When it comes to weddings, Lisa and Holly are the best venue coordinators/owners you could work with. Lisa had provided a list of suggested vendors that they had worked with previously. We loved every vendor that we worked with from her list. Day of, Lisa and Holly were outstanding and thought of details that we hadn’t even considered until that point (Holly’s car was detailed that weekend to avoid getting the wedding dress dirty). Holly was extraordinary when driving us around the venue to find the ideal spot for wedding photos.

Our Perfect Venue
If we can recommend anything to anyone, it would be to save a bit more money and use it on a great venue to accommodate your wedding. For us, that was the Sablewood. Lisa is the most accommodating and caring person you will ever meet. She maintains the venue meticulously and the attention to detail that has been built into the barns is breathtaking. The property has multiple spaces that can be used for your event and the Sablewood team are amazing for all of the behind-the-scenes setup, cleanup, and breakdown of all of your decorations and seating. Lisa and her family and team are very helpful with accommodating the bride and groom to make sure the timeline goes as planned without an issue. Lisa also works through the event alongside your vendor to make sure everything can go as flawless as possible. This venue is by far the most beautiful rustic and elegant barn in the upstate area. You have to see it in person to really appreciate how beautiful your event will be when you have it here. We can not recommend the Sablewood, Lisa, her family, and the Sablewood team enough. If you’re ever thinking about booking, do it because it books very fast.The Sablewood's reply:

Book The Sablewood!!!!
From the second we stepped foot on the Sablewood's property, we knew that this was where we were going to say I do. The pictures speak for themselves, it is the most magical, whimsical, gorgeous venue I have ever seen (and I toured 50 of them). It is easy to see in pictures what a gorgeous event you can host at The Sablewood, what is not pictured is the team that makes it all happen. The team at The Sablewood is professional, kind, supportive, and attentive. They will make you feel as though you are the only couple in the world to get married. The Sablewood team was a pillar of support during the preparation leading up to the wedding day. They attended to countless phone calls from a panicked bride and offered support that felt like they had solved any and every issue before they even happened. My husband and I were able to be present during every moment of our wedding day, soaking up all the special moments with each other and our guests. This would not have been possible if it weren't for The Sablewood's team running the show in the background. We are forever grateful to the team that made our wedding the most special, beautiful, and perfect day. Host your wedding at The Sablewood, it will be the best decision you ever make! -

They have a beautiful bridal suite as well as a groom's suite for getting ready. The best part of the venue is that rain or shine, the ceremony options are equally gorgeous (and different from the reception space). LOVE THE SABLEWOOD!! -

The most incredible wedding venue!!
It’s hard to put into words how incredibly beautiful this venue is!! The views alone are breathtaking but the inside of the barn is pure magic! When my then fiancé and I visited for the first time, we knew immediately that we wanted to have our wedding there. Everything looked perfect and so well thought out. The owners are the sweetest people. Lisa and her sister Holly were a pleasure to work with! Very genuine and down to earth family who care so much about making your wedding day and experience happy and effortless! I seriously can’t say enough good things about them! Our wedding day went so smoothly. The beautiful bridal suite was so fun to get ready in! Lisa helped coordinate our ceremony and ensured everyone knew when to walk and where to stand. Her and Holly then joined us with our photographer and videographer throughout all of our photos, they drove us around the property for all the great photo ops, were there to help fix/fluff my dress and veil, to hold my flowers and hand them back to me when needed, and just overall very attentive. It was just so nice to not have to worry about anything at all! All of our guests also fell in love with the entire property and were complimenting on it throughout the wedding! My husband and I are soo happy we chose The Sablewood and we highly recommend it to all couples seeking their dream wedding venue!!!The Sablewood's reply:

The venue is STUNNING. There are multiple spaces/options for the ceremony and cocktail hour both inside and outside. The property is so well maintained and landscaped that we really didn't have to do all that much outside to make the space fit our vision. Lisa and her team are AMAZING to work with, Lisa knows what she's doing and you can trust her completely to get every detail of your day right. All of the recommended vendors we used from their list were amazing to work with and highly professional.
The Sablewood has a bridal suite and groomsman suite on site so getting ready was a breeze.
Everything about our day went off without a hitch, it was as close to perfect as you can possibly imagine on your wedding day. The staff made sure all of the details were organized and taken care of, set up and breakdown were quick and efficient. I would highly recommend this venue to anyone! -

The Sablewood is what wedding venue dreams are made of. The restored hay barn venue space and ceremony barn are perfect for a large wedding of approximately 175 guests. The views of the rolling foothills of the Catskill Mountains from atop the property are breath taking and set a beautiful scene for our couples photos. The bridal and grooms suites are crisp, clean, functional, and spacious. The show stopper, and what sold us on the venue, was the vintage 1920s chandelier in the middle venue space. There are so many perfect photo opportunities on the property, it was difficult for me to just pick a few photos to share with this review. Our one complaint was that we felt the venue coordinator, Lisa, could have been a little more communicative in the weeks leading up to our wedding, however we were sympathetic to the fact that 2021 was a crazy year for weddings due to all the rescheduled 2020 weddings. This is a family run business and it was great to see how each member of the family worked to make the venue as great as it is; with Lisa's father doing much of the handy work around the bar, such as making sconces to match the previously mentioned chandelier. Clearly a lot of thought was put into the big picture and the small details of the space. I would certainly recommend this venue for your wedding. -
