If you've been to Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe you know they are delicious and very affordable. We'd been going for long enough that we'd decided they were our first choice for our wedding cake well before we were engaged. They were easy to work with and our cake was beautiful and delicious. We did a small cake, sheet cake, and their strudel and cookie platters! We knew we'd done well when our planner commented to us that he was so excited we'd picked Heidelberg.

Great Wedding Cakes
Heidelberg Bakery was the perfect choice for our wedding cakes! We went with two small cakes instead of a traditional wedding cake. Wed did on white heart-shaped one that had our initials on it and was absolutely gorgeous. We also had a round grooms cake that was decorated in University of Virginia colors, as we both went to UVA. We got them delivered the same day for $50, which was well worth it. Overall, I highly recommend them, as the process for ordering went super well when we talked to the managers over the phone, and everyone loved the look and taste of the cakes!

Heidelberg created just what I envisioned with this tiered cake and several sheetcakes with buttercream frosting which the catering crew cut and served. My florist added the flowers after Heidelberg had delivered the cake to our wedding venue.

This Cake was the Tops!
We would truly recommend Heidelberg for your wedding cake (and really any other cake) needs! Susie was a joy to work with and made the process easy and enjoyable. The cake was exactly what we discussed and was absolutely delicious. Many guests came up to say that it was the best wedding cake they have ever had. Heidelberg is an Arlington institution--we have already gone back for a birthday cake since our wedding!

An incredible wedding cake for the price
Heidelberg bakery was amazing from start to finish when choosing our wedding cake. Our experience in the shop was very personalized as we were able to try a few cakes in a small setting with their employee, two of our family members, and us. They were knowledgeable and gave great advice without seeming pushy when choosing our wedding flavors and design. The price was reasonable and fair. On our wedding day, the cake arrived flawlessly and was delicious. We will definitely use them again for future events that require any bakery needs.

Delicious cake!
I had my wedding cake made here and it was perfect! The flavors were really nice and cake was delicious! Many guest wanted seconds and to take some home. They did the design I wanted and it was three tiers of real cake for a very good price!

The Best Wedding Cake I've Ever Had
From the get go of starting to plan our wedding, we knew that the food and cake were super important to us. We were not dissapointed! Guests raved about the 3 tiered wedding cake that we had- the unique flavors and setup. They were super accomodating to our requests, even adding a little miniature of our dog to the cake! Guests continually came up to us all night saying that it was the best cake they ever had!

Delicious cake, amazing to work with
My husband and I ordered a spice cake for 100 people for our October wedding, and WOW - it could not have been more delicious. We met with Susie for our tasting, who is incredibly knowledgeable and an absolutely lovely person, and she helped us feel confident in the both the size we ordered and flavor combination we chose (vanilla buttercream, raspberry jam, spice cake - so. good.). Our guests raved about it! We're super excited for our first anniversary just to have some more of this cake!!

Yummy cake - will order again for other events
We had the marble pound cake with chocolate frosting and red velvet with cream cheese filling at our wedding. Both flavors were very good. Cake was delivered on time day of and Susie was helpful throughout the prep stages. We did a small wedding cake and some sheet cakes for the rest of our guests. Everyone enjoyed!

Beautiful and delicious!
Heidelberg is a longtime family favorite, and they didn't disappoint with our wedding cake! Ann-Marie and her staff helped us settle on a scrumptious flavor combination and gorgeous design, and worked with us on short-notice to provide some additional desserts like extra cake, pies and pastries. They were able to deliver everything in great shape all the way down in Lorton.
We'll be going back for an anniversary cake!

We only had one option when it came to our wedding cake - Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe! Their cakes are SO delicous that we didn't even bother with tastings at other bakeries! They were so helpful with planning the design. We wanted something simple and pretty, so we opted for a little bit of texture on the frosting and added some flower clusters we got from our florist and the end result was perfect! We had two flavors: vanilla pound cake with raspberry filling and a chocolate pound cake with strawberries and bavarian cream filling and BOTH were amazing! We ended up ordering too much and had plenty of leftovers, which is never a bad thing :) I highly recommend Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe for any Northern Virginia wedding!

Everything We Wanted!
Heidelberg was my husband's first choice for our wedding cake. They're a bakery we go to all the time and after we did our cake tasting, we cancelled all our other appointments because we both loved our experience working with them and the taste so much! Their cake flavors were delicious without having to add on a bunch of stuff to make them taste good. They had a ton of options for design and worked with us to get the design just right. On our wedding day, the cake disappeared so quickly and people are still asking us where we got it from!

Delicious and affordable!
My husband and I wanted pie on our wedding day. We provided guests with cake as well as the delicious cherry pies from Heidelberg. I ordered 13 of them online a few days in advance, and we picked them up the night before our wedding. Super easy process and the pies were amazing! They provided us with to-go boxes upon request, but we didn’t have any use for them because by the end of the night all of the pie had been eaten. We will definitely order from Heidelberg again for our pie needs in the future!

Our Heidelberg wedding cake was so beautiful and delicious - we had a three-tier vanilla cake with lemon curd and buttercream frosting, and then another sheet cake to serve additional guests. We dropped off silk flowers which the baker placed onto the cake for us. We also had them deliver our cakes to our venue (worth the cost). Everyone said the cake was delicious and beautiful. So delicious!
At first I didn’t want the traditional cake because I am not a huge cake person, however my husband was all about a huge wedding cake, and I’m glad he talked me into it. This cake was absolutely gorgeous and the most delicious cake I have ever had. We did a vanilla cake with white chocolate mousse filling. I actually cried when we got back from our honeymoon and there was none leftover for me to eat. It was THAT GOOD. Well worth every penny.

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe is THE PLACE to get your wedding cake, groom’s cake, and any other treats you may consider having for your wedding! My husband and I went to Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe for a tasting after it had been recommended by several friends and colleagues, and we were treated with such respect and kindness! We called ahead to pick out the flavors that most interested us. They set up our own table (complete with a “wedding tasting” sign), a massive binder of almost all their cake designs they have done in the past, and three huge multi-layer slices of cake of our choices. The woman taking care of us was attentive but allowed us to take our time and discuss our opinions; she answered all our questions and was extremely patient! A few weeks leading up to the wedding, the bakery was flexible in changing the sizes and décor of the cake. The day of, the cake was delivered with no issue and everyone RAVED about it! We decided on almond cake with raspberry jam with spice cake with apricot jam; both of those layers were a hit, and even months after the wedding, people still talk about how great that cake was! My husband and I now get all special event cakes there! An amazing bakery that was highly recommended by several people that makes fantastic cakes with exceptional service and great pricing….this is a must for a great wedding!

We were thrilled with our cake from Heidelberg. We wanted a three tier to display/cut, and then sheet cakes in the back to cut/serve for us to serve 150 guests. We were able to do the whole thing under our budget (under $500) and received so many compliments. My brother-in-law, a dessert connoisseur, wants to make a special trip to Heidelberg next time he is in the DC area!
We wanted a simple buttercream cake and our florist (Greenworks) added fresh flowers to it that day. I sent photos and talked with the team about the design, and they executed it perfectly. We did pound cake for the tiered cake and then used their more birthday-like cake consistency for the sheet cakes that were not displayed but just served. We were able to do a variety of flavors because of the different layers and the different sheet cakes. It was delicious, beautiful, and under budget. Save yourself time and book with Heidelberg! They were so wonderful and not pushy to deal with!

If I could give Heidelberg 15 out of 5, I would! The cake tasted so, so fresh and the frosting was soft and not excessively sweet.
I have literally NEVER had wedding cake as excellent as the cake at my wedding. Usually it tastes dry and overly sugary. Furthermore, it tasted fresh days after, as we decided not to freeze the top layer, but to enjoy the rest for breakfast etc.
On top of that, the design was perfect, exactly what I requested. Multiple wedding guests told me my cake was the best wedding cake they'd ever had. One friend when back for seconds (twice!), totaling 3 slices. haha.

Absolutely beautiful and amazing wedding cake. We had all icing, 3 layers, different patterns on each. Superbly elegant, looks fantastic (even with no fondant) and the taste was incredible. People were scraping the leftovers into cups. Maybe they were just drunk, but I think the awesomeness of the cake had a lot to do with it.

Our venue had a package that included the wedding cake from Heidelberg or Alexandria Pastry Shop. We did tastings with both as well as Fluffy Thoughts and Heidelberg tasted the best by far. We wanted to do a dessert bar and they helped us supplement our cake w mousse cups, chocolate covered strawberries, and other pastries. We ordered much more than we needed and literally everything was gone!! The guests loved everything! Yetin was super helpful in helping us design our cake and accomodating my "groomzilla". She gave us lots of options to upgrade and/or substitute to get the exact cake we wanted. The owner even offered us a free anniversary cake! Great vendor that I would recommend to any bride!

My husband and I had tried 3 different bakeries for our wedding cake and Heidelberg by far was the best! Wedding cake can sometimes be dry but it was delicious on the day of our wedding. All of our guests loved the cake and wanted seconds!

I'm not sure what more I can say that the other reviewers hadn't already said. But the cake, presentation and everything was absolutely awesome. One thing I loved was that they were super flexible and we were supremely late in choosing our cake (3 weeks before the wedding!) and you would have thought we chose this a year ahead of time given the intricacies!
The owner and the folks who work there were super nice and very amazing. This is, without a doubt, a "hidden" gem of this area. It was delicious that many people asked for seconds for the cake at the wedding!!!!!!! And they were the proper type! That says a lot!

First of all this is the "ma and pa" bakery that every great town/city needs. They are well-known and it's always a busy location. Our tasting was delicious. Everything we could have asked for. Our cake was part of our hotel venue's package, but we couldn't have found a better place! When giving them a picture they did exactly what we asked. Our end wedding cake was to die for and everyone commented on how great it was. This company just got a customer for life!! :)

Our cake was part of our venue package and their suggested pastry shop was Heidelberg. We scheduled our tasting and encounter a very busy, but friend shop. We absolutely enjoyed the tasting and the friendly staff. They have a very wide variety of cakes, but are also open to suggestions. The one thing I do have to say is that their cake portfolio is very outdated. We printed styles of cakes that we like and brought them in for them to see and tell us if they could do the design. At the end the flavor our cake (marble poundcake drizzle with Amaretto filled with a hazelnut mouse and cover with marzipan) was phenomenal and lets not forget the beautiful design of our cake which excited our expectations.
If you do use this shop do not hesitate to bring your own cake design photos. We did exactly that and they met our expectations by designing the cake the exact way as the picture.

We loved working with Heidelberg! The cake tasting experience was really lovely! Not only did the accommodate four of us for a tasting but the presentation was beautiful! They were extremely accommodating and provided us with many flavors to try. The cake turned out BEAUTIFUL and was delicious (even after having been frozen). I can't speak towards the value because it was part of our caterer package but overall it was a great experience.

Our wedding cake was delicious!!! Multiple guests commented on it. It was a simple cake (2 tier) almond flavored cake and lemon flavored cake with raspberry and strawberry filling (this is their base level). I also love the traditional bakery setting- very much like a NY bakery.

The Heidelberg Bakery has been the only bakery my family has used for birthdays and special events for years!! When my daughter announced her engagement, there was no question who would make the wedding cake -- the Heidelberg!!! Their cakes are delicious and always look spectacular!! The wedding cake was beautiful and exactly what my daughter wanted. They also baked and brought the challah for the event and it was terrific, too!! I would recommend them to anyone!

We loved our cake from the Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe. Our tasting was very laid back and they offered us tea and coffee as we sat in their lounge area. The tastings were also very generous and we were able to take some home. We went with the Almond Pound Cake with Raspberry filling. Our guests raved about how good the cake was. We live in the Arlington area so it was nice to support a local business and we look forward to visiting the Heidelberg for years to come.

Heidelberg was awesome!!! We really wanted cupcakes for our wedding instead of a traditional wedding cake and we looked all around for delicious but affordable cupcakes. They brought us in for a tasting and their cupcakes were delicious! It was not even a question when we compared the other places we went to. They were great to work with also. They were VERY responsive to our many emails and questions which as comforting since we were planning this wedding from Philadelphia! We, unfortunately, had to postpone our wedding due to a family emergency and Heidelberg let us move our deposit to our new date even through it took us 8 months to come up with a new date. What a great company to do business with. Everyone at the wedding told us how delicious the cupcakes were! Thanks Heidelberg!!

My family has been going to Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe ever since I was born. This place is amazing and my wife and I knew we had to get our wedding cakes from here. They did a wonderful job. This was one of the cake vendors that was preferred by our venue (Fort Myer) and we loved everything about our cake! We went for a tasting and loved all the combinations, but chose the vanilla cake, raspberry filling and buttercream frosting. They made the cake a square shape for us, which we loved, and it was 4 tiers. They even matched the icing piping to my bridesmaids' dresses (emerald green) and let me bring a matching ribbon to place on the bottom. They arrived early for the wedding, provided a box to bring home the top layer, and everyone at the wedding said it was a 10!

We used Heidelberg for a Dessert Bar. Our purchases included: mini scones, mini creme puffs, mini chocolate mousse cups, cupcakes (vanilla, chocolate truffle, red velvet), coconut chocolate dipped macaroons. We also had two pumpkin pies with "Happy Birthday" written on one as it was my husband's birthday on our wedding day. Everything was delicious! Our guests raved about all of the selections and went back for more! Heidelberg does tastings and deliveries. Their cupcakes are better than the big cupcake places and more affordable too. We will be going back for more desserts from them in the future.

We went for a cake tasting with really no expectations. We left with signing a contract. Their carrot cake is to die for, with their cream cheese frosting and filling. The cake was delivered on time and looked beautiful. They called two weeks before our wedding date to confirm, which was such a relief to know that a vendor was responsible. After you sign a contract, they give you a coupon for a free mini layer of your wedding on your first anniversary. How amazing? I would highly recommend Heidelberg for the taste and quality of their cake, their professional and service.

They allowed me to offer my guests two different flavors of cupcakes, one of which I customized myself (off-menu). Furthermore, they also allowed us to do a separate selection for our (bride and groom) cupcakes.

We ordered the chocolate pound cake with raspberry filling and it was delicious. We had a 3 tier cake that had a cherry blossom design and everyone at the wedding loved it. Cherry Blossoms have special meaning to our relationship so it was nice that Heidelberg had this design we could tie in. We used them through a package with the Key Bridge Marriott. They were responsive and we had zero issues. Everything with them went smoothly. The cake looked great, tasted great, and was delivered on time what more can you ask for!

We loved our wedding cake from Heidelberg. We were happy with them from the moment we went in for our tasting. They were organized and prepared with samples and albums of their designs and offered us coffee to go with our selections. Everything was delicious. They designed a cake which was EXACTLY like the picture I gave them. They were even able to do intricate detailing using buttercream, just as I wanted. We ended up going with vanilla with chocolate chips and red velvet cake, which were delicious.

Heidelberg cakes taste amazing! We got their spice cake with vanilla frosting, and I absolutely loved it! And for this area, Heidelberg is was of the cheaper places around. If you give them one full payment, they even give you a coupon for an anniversary cake for the next year, so you don't have to eat year-old frozen cake if you don't want to.

One of the things we liked about our venue package was that it included a cake from Heidelberg. They had amazing reviews and we were impressed with their gallery online. We scheduled the tasting and chose a few types of cakes/fillings and frostings.
We were welcomed with a plate of amazing sweets! It was so hard to choose just one so we ended up with a 4 tier cake consisting of 2 types of cakes, three types of filling and butter cream frosting. We chose a design they had already done with a few tweaks to match our wedding.
I was so excited to see the final product at our reception. It was beautiful! When we cut the cake we decided not to waste any of it!

My husband and I are regular customers of Heidelberg. We've been going there for a couple of years and we love everything they make so this was one vendor we didn't have to research or interview. We went in for a tasting on a Saturday around Mother's Day and got personal service despite the crowd. We got to try 3 different cake/filling/icing combos. The sample pieces were like regular sizes of cake! Much larger than in other bakeries. We went with a vanilla poundcake/strawberry filling/white buttercream icing cake in a design from their catalog. We paid about $650 for a 140-person cake, quite a bargain considering a lot of brides drop $1,000+. The look and taste of the cake was a big hit the wedding!
Added bonuses: we got a free lunch courtesy of the the owner & they give you a certificate for a free cake on your 1-year anniversary so you don't have to buy extra cake to freeze.

HEIDELBERG WAS AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! What a fabulous experience! We interviewed soooo many bakeries. When we tasted Heidelberg's chocolate chip cake, we knew that was the one. Our cake was amazing- people are still talking about it to this day! We had vanilla chocolate chip cake with white buttercream icing. Unbelievably moist, beautiful, and delicious. :-)
I can't recommend them enough- and their pricing, especially given the outstanding quality, was terrific! I'd recommend them to everyone!

Heidelberg Pastry Shoppe was wonderful! We loved their cake! We had a vanilla pound cake with strawberry jam filling and white butter cream icing- when we tasted it we knew it was the cake for us! The staff were wonderful and very helpful. After we decided that we definitely wanted to go with their cake, we had a hard time deciding on a design that we liked. We found that we liked one of the cake designs but not the icing flowers that decorated it. We asked the staff if we could get the basic cake design without the icing flowers and they agreed! It turned out beautifully and we were extremely happy with it!

We worked with Than at Heidelberg to order our wedding cake. She was very helpful and flexible with setting up a tasting. We found the tasting samples to be generous and enjoyed the complimentary beverages provided. Heidelberg is a fun bakery to visit, always busy and a huge selection of baked goods! We chose white cake with vanilla buttercream frosting in a simple design from a magazine. The bakery made a delicious and attractive cake to our specifications. All of our guests enjoyed it and gave us compliments on our choice! We were pleasantly surprised that the bakery gives a free 6" first anniversary cake coupon if you pay in full when you place your wedding cake order. Looking forward to having another Heidelberg cake on our first anniversary!

Not only did the bakery perfectly execute our vision in terms of looks, but it was literally the best tasting cake we'd ever had. Heidelberg specializes in very classic, butter cream cakes that use amazing, real ingredients. This probably isn't the place to go for very intricate fondant cakes, but if you want a classic, DELICIOUS cake - this is a home run. Not to mention, when you do your tasting, the bakery has all kinds of delicacies including german sausage and pretzels!

She was great at providing me with advice as to what would look good with my cake. She was really able to take my vision and make it extraordinary. In addition to the cake tasting, they also let me have a few samples to determine the exact color yellow I wanted. The cake came out beautifully! I will definitely have to send in a picture. I couldn't have asked for anymore more beautiful. The cake also tasted fantastic- everyone raved about the poundcake with buttercream icing- plain and simple, yet elegant. We also ordered a platter of pastries and apparently they disappeared in a matter of minutes. I would definitely recommend these people to anyone!

A coworker recommended Heidelberg from her own wedding for its taste and value, and I wasn't disappointed. I didn't want a complicated cake, and I cared more that it tasted great than anything else. Looking through the cake book at my initial consultation, I noticed that I wasn't wild about any of the designs, but they did a good job of taking the photo I had brought along and recreating it. A couple of weeks before the wedding, I needed to add another small cake to my order, and they took care of it without a problem. On the wedding day, the cake was great. Definitely the best buttercream I've ever tasted!

We loved our cake! The woman at our tasting was very nice. I emailed them multiple times with questions and they always replied promptly and politely. Our top tier was cheesecake and it was AMAZING!! The rest of our cake was vanilla with chocolate chips and chocolate mousse filling with buttercream icing. Everyone loved it and we were very happy with how moist it was. We actually had already booked a cake and after going to Heidelburg changed it!

We loved our wedding cake! We looked through their photo book of cakes and requested some modifications, and they delivered exactly what we asked for. The cake was delivered on time and the cake was truly delicious! I highly recommend this place. I really liked that they provided a voucher for a free cake on your anniversary, that way you don't have to store the top layer in the freezer. On a side note, when you stop by for a cake tasting, make sure you buy a pretzel while you are there. So addictive!

I had a HUGE old fashioned white tiered buttercream cake. It was delicious. If you're looking for a classic, old fashioned wedding cake look, this is your place.

Do Not Look at the pictures on their website- Their cakes are 10 times prettier!!!! Our cake not only was beautiful- but tasted amazing!!!!!!!!!!! Heidelberg was great to work with, listened to everything we said and created it!! Everything was beautiful!

This was a great experience, both in the planning and in the eating! Professional expertise, reliability and creativity for a very decent price. The cake looked beautiful and tasted even better. What a nice touch to also deliver a complimentary box of pastries for the wedding party. A wholehearted recommendation.

Heidleberg Pastry Shoppe made my wedding cake and it was great! One of their employees, Than, worked with my mother and I with all of the details. They have many different cakes and flavors, but I LOVE classic white cake with buttercream icing, so I got that for my cake. Their icing is GREAT! I hade a four tiered round cake with space in between each tier for flowers (from my florist). They made the cake exactly how I asked, as far as I know the delivery was right on time, and it tasted GREAT! I actually dipped into my top layer when I got home the next day (I froze it after I had my way with it). When I was ordering the cake, the owner of the bakery came out to say hi, and he was very nice. Also, their prices are very reasonable. I definitely recommend!!!

My husband and I really wanted a wedding cake that tasted good. You can't go wrong with Heidelberg. Their cakes are so delicious and reasonably priced. We got a three-tiered cake for 100 people that was less than $300. It was vanilla cake, with raspberry jam filling, and vanilla frosting. And it was beautiful. They do great designs. And it's a local bakery if you live in NoVA.

Our wedding cake was amazing! We wanted a simple design which they executed perfectly. More importantly, we wanted good cake and were not disappointed! We had two tiers of carrot and two of almond cake with raspberry jam filling, then everything covered in fondant. Our guests loved it and so did we! Literally, the cake was so good we ate the top layer with our parents the day after the wedding. Now we're looking forward to ordering a Heidelberg cake for our 1 year anniversary. :) The staff was very easy to work with especially Than who contacted me to checked in and discuss details. Our tasting was great, just order lots of flavors and plan on taking some home.

Their staff is wonderful. Everyone kept in touch with me via email and phone, and our wedding cake was beautiful to look at and fabulous to eat...they even added the shamrocks we wanted to put on the cake free of charge. We're coming up on our 1 year anniversary and we cannot wait to eat the top tier waiting in the freezer for us!

Our wedding cake was beautiful and delicious!! The marzipan at Heidelberg is amazing and looked stunning on our cake! We would highly recommend the vanilla poundcake with raspberry filling. We knew this was a fabulous bakery and they delivered a fabulous wedding cake!

Heidelberg Pastry is a fabulous place for wedding cakes! They have a lot of variety and REALLY YUMMY cakes. We over ordered just so we'd have extra to eat after our honeymoon! They were always helpful, allow you to sample as many times as you want, and I didn't have to think twice on the day of my wedding about what my cake would be like.
Fort Myer Officer's Club uses them as their cake vendor, so I can't really comment on the price but it's worth it no matter how much! Highly recommended!

I received so many compliments on our wedding cake from guests. during the wedding and afterwards. Although I'm biased I thought this was one of the best wedding cakes I've ever had. I was so happy to have leftovers afterwards. The cake was perfectly moist and the frosting was delicious.
Heidelberg was very easy to work with. They really listened to my ideas and helped me create the perfect cake.

The cake was beautiful; however, too much icing. It made the cake larger, but when we cut the cake we discovered 2 inches of icing before we got to the cake. The cake itself was good. I've done business with Heidelberg for years and love their items. Would use them again noting that icing needs to be less with more cake. :-)

Thank you for your comments. We try hard to keep the icing to cake ratio in proportion. Certain cake designs that are currently popular, such as the ruffled edge cakes, do require much more icing than we normally apply on cakes. We look forward to serving you again!

We got an almond cake with raspberry jam filling. Delicious and very reasonable price for the DC area. The only slight issue was that at the time we ordered the cake we chose a design they had on display, but by the time of the wedding they didn't have that cake on display and didn't remember the design. Luckily I had taken a photo and was able to email it to the bakery. The cake looked and tasted great!

The cake was amazing and all the layers tasted delicious. They were really accommodating to my designs of a cake and it turned out even better than I imagined. I do wish they would have put on the cake topper for me because I was worried that we would mess it up but it turned out perfectly. I also loved how for just $30 we could get an extra top tier so we didn't have to worry about people eating it. A wonderful vendor to discover through Fort Myer.

Heidelberg makes great wedding cakes! We were very happy with the appearance and taste of our cake. This cute German bakery has a friendly and welcoming staff. They make changes to our order without any trouble. Some of their cake design pictures look dated, but there are some trendy or modern designs available. The cost for their cakes seemed lower than some of the other top bakeries in the area.

I looked everywhere to find a bakery to work with my budget and this one quickly rose to the top of my list.
I highly recommend you at least go to an in-store tasting (and go hungry)! This is a cute little German bakery with amaaaazing cake. I don't even like cake and wasn't too in to picking out my wedding cake but when I got to this bakery it all changed. One taste of their delicious pound cake with fresh jam filling changed my mind quick. It was incredible. The best part is that the price per slice is the lowest in the area!They have very nice cake designs and a prompt consultation team. I would without a doubt recommend this place for your wedding.

We tasted cakes from a number of vendors, but my husband was amazed by Heidelberg's orange-flavored pound cake with strawberry filling and buttercream icing. As he said, it was really "memorable." We ordered a small cake for 50 for display and then had an additional 100 servings as sheet cake in the back. They already had reasonable prices for their cake, and this was an even bigger cost savings. The delivery was on time, and the cake looked great. I'm not sure how good they are at taking a photo of a design from somewhere else and recreating it, if that design isn't similar to something already in their portfolio. But our cake design was basic, and the cake on the day of was delicious! And instead of needing to freeze the top layer for your anniversary, they give you a coupon so you can come in and get a fresh-baked 6" cake with the same flavors of your wedding cake one year later.

Great job - perfect that they are associated with Fort Myer Officers' Club as part of their reception package - would have been our first choice regardless.
