We cannot say enough how amazing this venue was and all its staff. It was perfect from A - Z and made wedding planning a breeze. Beautiful all year round and your guests will be so impressed but you won’t have to break the bank!

The Heidel House was the perfect place for us to get married! We loved the stunning lake views and outdoor grounds. Plus, the inside of the hotel is also beautiful and newly renovated. The venue coordinator, Diane, is extremely talented and made our experience so special. All of the employees were so kind and helpful throughout our wedding planning and the special day. It was convenient to be able to have guests stay overnight at our venue. Many rented boats for the weekend. Overall, we feel so fortunate we found the Heidel House and chose it for our wedding!

I am so glad we picked Heidel House for our wedding. First off, the hotel sits on stunning Green Lake and was recently renovated. The rooms are huge and clean. There are multiple bars/restaurants on site. The ceremony and reception spaces were perfect. We had our rehearsal dinner on the Green Lake Escapade Yacht on Friday. Saturday we had our ceremony by the lake and reception in Pleasant Point Ballroom. We had about 200 guests so we also rented out Waves Bar+Grill. We had plenty of room for dancing and socializing. On Sunday, we had a brunch for our guests in the Dartford Ballroom. The food and beverages were great and reasonably priced. The absolute best part of having our wedding at Heidel House was Diane. Diane Sicorsicor (Manager of Banquets) was so kind, knowledgeable, and always responded in a timely manner. We had so many questions during the planning phase and Diane was always there to help us make decisions. On the weekend of our wedding, Diane was helping to ensure everything went smoothly. She is a huge asset to have on your wedding planning team and made our whole experience that much better. Heidel House and the staff made for the most remarkable experience and we highly recommend this amazing lake-side venue.

The staff at the Heidel House did a wonderful job ensuring that our wedding weekend was everything we wanted and stress-free. They really went above and beyond to make sure that we got everything we needed, helped implement PLAN B during a rain storm, and made it so easy.

I've grown up spending my summers on Green Lake so I knew there was only one place I was ever going to get married. Star was incredible and helped answer all of my ten million questions I had. She was always in a great mood and super eager to help in any way. She probably wiped our guest's seats dry about 15 times before the ceremony started because it decided to rain on our wedding day. Always with a smile on her face. I am not sure where else you can get service like that.

Our wedding is still a few months away but so far everyone at the Heidel house has been extremely accommodating helping my fiancé and my vision for our wedding come to life. I have nothing but fantastic things to say about their coordinator, Star, she has made the process so much easier.

Heidel House was the one and only place my husband and I visited when choosing a wedding venue but we knew it was going to be perfect for us. It was a great location for a winter wedding getaway for us and our guests. Star was great to work with and always readily available for questions. My husband and I were too busy on our actual wedding day to enjoy the food but everything was delicious at our tasting and many of our guests said it was the best prime rib they have ever had. A big snow storm occurred the weekend of our wedding and the shortest drive that anyone had to make was at least 1 hour. Many guests were cancelling a couple days in advance and even the day of. Heidel House could not have been more understanding and accommodating. We could have lost out on a couple thousand dollars due to the cancellations but Heidel House worked with us as much as they could to help us save money. Many guests and family members commented on how much they enjoyed the resort itself and how they want to make it a yearly tradition to visit. I would highly recommend choosing Heidel House as a wedding destination, especially for a beautiful winter wedding.

The most gorgeous Winter wedding venue we could have dreamed of. Great views of the lake. Great Picture opportunities. Our wedding coordinator, Star, was incredibly accommodating and hard working for my new wife and me. A blizzard tore through WI the weekend of our wedding and Heidel House was nice enough to allow us to change our guest count and saved us tons of money. We couldn't have asked for a better experience.

Heidel House & the wedding coordinator, Star Irvin, went above and beyond to make our wedding day perfect. We did our first viewing of the facility & went forward with the contract, the Heidel House team was very responsive to all our questions & requests. We had no issues setting up our tasting dates, and Star even made time to see our Pastor who just wanted to ask a few questions & view the area.

As for the wedding day, everything went by flawlessly! Heidel House team made sure everything was in its place and the timeline went perfectly to plan! I found out later that Star even brought in our lawn games we didn't think to have someone pick up! From the ceremony to dinner into the dance, all the details were taken care of. Star worked with us to have our floor plan just as we envisioned w/ a King's table, an extra bar and all the "other tables" for remembrance, photo booth, guest book etc. We chose a chicken & pork option for dinner & heard wonderful thing about the meal. Also, we were allowed to do sparklers on the beach. Heidel house was accommodating to all our requests.

I would highly recommend this beautiful resort for your wedding. You won't be disappointed!

I don't even know where to begin...it was that good!

Our wedding at the Heidel House was everything we could have hoped for, and more. Our ceremony took place on Grey Rock Lawn, and was absolutely breathtaking; the panoramic view of the lake provided the perfect backdrop. We had some slightly rainy weather early in the morning, but luckily things cleared up and it ended up being absolutely perfect. Our cocktail hour and reception dinner were held in the the Lower Boathouse and were fantastic. Our guests could not stop commenting on the generous portions as well as the sheer deliciousness of their meals. As our ceremony was fairly short and sweet, we arrived at our cocktail reception ahead of schedule. However, the hors d'oeuvres we selected were ready to go upon our arrival, and we enjoyed a wonderful cocktail hour mingling with guests. The wait staff was very accommodating and courteous. As we were early, they moved up the start time of our dinner, which was great. The flexibility and professionalism exhibited by the entire Heidel House staff was outstanding. It was so convenient to host both our ceremony and reception in the same location, and the hotel had more than enough space for all of our guests.

As we are from out of town, communication and organization were key, and Star went above and beyond our expectations. She was extremely responsive to all of my emails, and always provided prompt answers to my questions. I cannot begin to express the amount of gratitude and appreciation I have for Star. She really helped to ensure that everything was coordinated and went smoothly for our big day. We are so thankful that we chose to have our wedding at the Heidel House. We ended up picking the perfect venue, and in turn, ended up having the perfect wedding day. Thank you so much for everything!

Star and all the event staff at Heidel House are incredible!! Our day was amazing and perfect!! Star was so helpful the whole time leading up to the day and answered all my questions promptly. Our wedding was planned to be out on the lawn but unfortunately the rain had other plans so it was at the rain site in the Sandstone. Star allowed us to wait as long as we could to see if the weather would change and once we made the decision to go inside she smoothly transitioned it there and it was beautiful!

I had my wedding here in November 2014. The best decision I made! The staff and Star were amazing! When I talk about how easy planning my wedding was people don't believe me! I was probably the calmest bride the whole weekend because Star and her staff had everything planned in advanced and there were no surprises. She answered so many questions for me! It also helps that this resort is BEAUTIFUL! I know that I have had guest who have already been back for their own getaway! I would recommend this place to anyone!

this was the perfect place for our wedding, the setting was beautiful and Star was such a joy to work with!! She made every part of the planning easy and stress free!! She knows her stuff and she was checking in with me regularly and just made my day worry free!! The location is amazing, our ceremony was on the Grey Rock Lawn with the reception in the Sandstone Room, and it could not have been more perfect. The rooms were clean, and the service from everyone was exceptional. Thank you for making our day nothing short of perfect!

We had such a fabulous wedding at The Heidel House this past weekend!

We had our ceremony on the Grey Rock lawn and our dinner/reception in the Lower Boathouse. Both locations are fantastic! The Grey Rock lawn was beautiful with the backdrop of the lake. It was absolutely the ideal location for us. The Lower Boathouse was great as well. It was very nice to be able to go onto the patio after dinner to cool off from the dance floor. We also had our rehearsal dinner at the Grey Rock. It was a great meal and the servers and cooks were perfect. I didn't coordinate the dinner, but I heard that Bryan, the chef, was great to work with. And he cooked up a great meal as well! Kudos to all of the staff of Grey Rock and The Heidel House. Everything and everybody that we dealt were all amazing. The staff went above and beyond to make sure that everything was perfect.

If you happen to get lucky and get perfect weather like we did, you will be have the best wedding ever. We literally were told throughout the night by our guests that this was the best wedding that they've ever been to. I don't think we deserve any of the credit - it should all go to The Heidel House and Star especially.

Speaking of Star (the catering manager), she served as our wedding coordinator basically, and she was absolutely amazing! I can't say enough great things about her. She was extremely responsive to all of our questions and requests, and she was completely on top of everything - she had notes on just about everything regarding our event and knew every little detail that we had requested right from the start of talking with her. Overall, I think Star is what took our experience with The Heidel House from good to amazing. Thank you, Star!

There isn't enough space to go through all of the positive experiences we had with this location. I highly recommend using The Heidel House for a wedding or as a weekend getaway.

Heidel House was AMAZING for my wedding! There was not a SINGLE glitch in the rehearsal, the ceremony, the reception, the room rentals, the food tasting or anything. It truly was a magical day and the staff were both friendly and SUPER organized....I couldn't have asked for a better venue!

My husband and I were married at the Heidel House. We were looking to have a small wedding of about 75 people and the Heidel House was the perfect venue! We had our ceremony down by the lake and our reception in Lower Boathouse.

The pure elegance of the resort wowed my guests and to this day I still have guests telling me it's the most beautiful wedding they've ever been to.

All of my guests stayed at the resort for Friday and Saturday night of the wedding and were pleased with their rooms and the amenities available.

The staff was always willing to help and Star was such a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. Because of her, things went so smoothly from the day we signed the contract, until getting the reception started. I have to say that she really impressed me with her organization, not only in preparation, but throughout the wedding day as well.

I have gladly recommended the Heidel House to anyone who is looking for a wonderful setting for their wedding or just a weekend getaway.

When we initially began our wedding planning, there were 3 new catering managers within 3 months, but after Don and Star took over, everything went really great!! I am so happy that we stuck with the Heidel House. It is a wonderful facility, the food was great, I heard nothing but great things from the guests, and everyone was happy. They did an awesome job communicating and working with us about every detail, down to who got the gluten free vs. the vegan vs. the nut free meal!! We also had brunch the next day which was just as awesome!!

I cannot praise the Heidel House enough for providing me and my husband with an amazing wedding! Star was one of our main contacts throughout the process and her reputation for professionalism and delivering spectacular weddings proceeds her. There was an alternate indoor area to hold our ceremony if the weather did not cooperate, but luckily the forecast changed and allowed for such a beautiful ceremony. The Heidel House was the only venue we toured because we knew this would be the place after seeing the amazing lake views and the budget friendly wedding packages. We cannot thank Star enough for being accessible and helping ensure every aspect of our wedding went without any hitches. I would definitely recommend this venue to anyone looking for once in a lifetime wedding experience.

The Heidel House was a perfect venue to have our wedding reception. From the starting planning process to the day of, Diane made sure that we didn’t have to worry. The lake views offered multiple beautiful places for photos and food and drinks were great. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect day all thanks to the Heidel House!

The Heidel House team and Diane helped make our wedding day the most memorable day of our life! The planning was smooth and seamless, and they were attentive to every detail. They were also able to accommodate some special requests we had for the menu and had great recommendations for local vendors. Diane and her staff were on top of every detail and made sure everything that day went as planned (despite having to change some things due to a last-minute rain storm!). We highly recommend Heidel House to any couple looking for a venue.

Beautiful lakeside location, food was amazing!

SERVICE IS SUPERB!! Can't say enough about Star and staff, they just were perfect. Star goes through every detail with you, helping you to plan your event. Then she's there during your event, making sure everything goes smoothly, but she's always unobtrusive. Location is absolutely gorgeous! We got numerous compliments on how beautiful the wedding was. Food was mostly good, though a few guests had a complaint or two, and admittedly, things weren't as good as the tasting, but it's hard to keep that level of quality in a buffet. We had a sandwich tray during the cocktail hour that was fabulous, and the bar was super easy to set up for whatever budget you had in mind.

Some things to be aware of, that maybe we should have considered: this location, though gorgeous, is WAY out in the middle of nowhere. Some guests had problems finding the place. Secondly, there is a 20% "gratuity" on EVERYTHING, including things like renting equipment. It's not just a charge giving a tip to those that work your event, it's like a surcharge, so be sure to add 20% to your budget over quoted costs. During the actual event, I realized it was a price I was happy to pay, considering the service we got, but be sure to budget for it. Keep in mind, vendors you bring in will probably also need to charge you travel fees, and there are not a lot of other hotel rooms available in the area. These things will impact your budget! Also, although this is listed as an "affordable" venue, it's on the upper end of "affordable", and in my experience, is viewed by other wedding related businesses in the area as being synonymous with "this customer has money!". If you like the red carpet treatment and the accompanying higher prices, super, make sure vendors know your venue up front. If you'd rather come in more under the radar, see if you can get prices before you tell them your venue! This is not in any way the fault of Heidel House, but just fyi.

The views are definitely what sold us on the Heidel House. Ali was the first person we met, and she was AMAZING! You could definitely see she loved her job and wanted to make the day as special as possible. Star definitely was business/professional only, but still did a great job. Heidel House did a great job welcoming our guests, helping the decorators, and making it an overall smooth experience!

You will not be disappointed with having your wedding at the Heidel House! I recently had my wedding there and it was absolutely beautiful! The ceremony, cocktail hour and reception were all within walking distance to one another because they were all on the Heidel House grounds. It was great having everything within walking distance so guests didn't have to drive to get to and from everywhere. I have had so many people tell me that the Heidel House was such a perfect spot for a wedding. The wedding coordinator, Star, was amazing and is very helpful and great at what she does!

The place is beautiful. We had planned an outdoor wedding but it started raining just a few hours before. They were great at moving everything indoors and getting everyone to the right place. Everyone loved the food and décor. Everything was served quickly so people weren't having to wait too long. We also got to decorate the night before so we weren't rushing before the wedding.

If I had to go back, I would choose the Heidel House again. It is a beautiful location and the lake makes a beautiful backdrop for photos. I do wish they would upkeep their landscaping and add flowers in a few spots though. It's good, but could be great with just a little effort.

The Heidel House Resort was teh perfect place to have our wedding ceremony and reception. WE had our ceremony out on the Grey Rock Lawn and the ambiance was perfect. We then had our cocktail hour and reception in the Lower Boathouse. It was awesome to have everyone in one place - not having to worry about transportation. The catering manager was absolutely amazing and took care of every detail so I didn't have to worry. On our wedding day, everything went as smoothly as planned and the Heidel House made our day perfect.

I am a Green Lake native and the Heidel House was the only venue that embodies the beauty of what our small town has to offer. We only hosted our ceremony at the Heidel House but it is the perfect back drop to photos and a beautiful view for guests to take in during such a special moment in our lives. Star is wonderful to work with and I greatly appreciate her recommendation of Virginia Rogers as a harpist for our wedding. Everything about that day was perfect and beautiful.

I held my ceremony and reception at the Heidel House and it was more than what I expected. First the food is amazing and have heard so many compliments months after the wedding which goes to show how great it was. The views from the site is great too. If you are looking to have an outdoors feel but with all the amenities of an indoor location I would suggest renting the carriage house tent for the reception. The only thing that I didn't like was that there is a noise ordinance that doesn't allow loud music after 10pm at night. It worked out fine with us because there is a large bar on site and everyone was welcome to continue the party down there. Oh and the places to take amazing wedding pics there is endless. I have so many pictures from different areas that will last me through the years. We worked with Star and she was absolutely amazing as well. Through all my changes she was always willing to see what changes could be made. And don't worry about anything on the 'big day' cause she will materialize by your side (sometimes I felt out of thin air :))and keep you in the loop of things that are going on or to ask a question. Basically she made me feel relaxed and in control on my wedding day. All in all for the cost it was well worth it for such a beautiful day...in fact the best day of my life thus far!

The perfect venue for "Dirty Dancing meets Joe Black". We loved this location. Rustic romantic ceremony in front of the Old Carriage house, and beautiful classy reception in the tent was perfect! The venue allowed us to bring in vintage furniture and hang Edison lights from the huge trees. It was perfect.
Star the wedding planner does some a seemless job. All our guests commented how great the food was! And it's a great destination place for your guests. We took advantage of the lake with boating and a night cruise on the Escapade. The pool is very nice, as well as the beach! All of the hotel staff is wonderful and we'll and the spa is top notch. We definitely suggest the Heidel House to others and look forward to returning every year for our anniversary!

We had a beautiful ceremony at the Grey Rock Lawn, as well as an amazing reception in the Dartford Ballroom this July! We were so happy with the beautiful venue and food! Service was great, we did have a small hiccup where they were short some steak meals, and the staff gave people who ordered steak were given chicken instead even when they asked the staff about this. Other than that, they were very flexible and made our day absolutely perfect! Star the wedding coordinator, was great to work with, very responsive and organized. She also helped coordinate and direct the day of the wedding, which helped everything to run smoothly! Would recommend for those who are looking for a beautiful venue on the water. All of the food was AMAZING!! We got so many compliments-definitely worth the money.

We really enjoyed working with Jackie and the Heidel House. They did all they could to accomodate our requests and make our day special for us. The food wasn't great but the service and overall value would make us recommend the Heidel House with out question.

We had our ceremony on the Grey Rock Lawn and reception in Dartford Ballroom on August 10th. Overall, everything was lovely! Star, the wedding coordinator, is really top-notch. She takes care of so many things and never forgets a single detail. The only real hitch I can think of was that there were a ton of gnats at the ceremony even though they said they fogged for bugs 2 hours prior to the ceremony. But that's just a small detail, as a whole the venue is gorgeous!

Everyone was great at the Heidel House, I was so happy with the service and the end result and how every aspect of our day both before and during was taken care of.

Heidel House was a fantastic location for our wedding. They handled everything, including catering, tables, chairs, etc. as well as the location, general coordination and planning. All of the staff were extremely helpful, the service was amazing, and we were SO happy we chose to do our wedding there.

We had an amazing wedding at Heidel House. Diane the lead wedding coordinator was great in being there every step of the way and being extremely helpful and attentive the day of the event. The venue is absolutely gorgeous and it was the wedding of my dreams. I will say that there are areas for improvement. There are what is called lake flies, they do give you a note in your room explaining their importance but in the beginning of June they were insane. They said they sprayed for them but I don’t know if that’s true or not because they were excessive, completely covering areas of rooms with light. This is definitely something that could be improved upon. Second is the general wait and cleaning staff. In multiple scenarios I encountered with these general staff there was a language barrier. This generally would not bother me but it was simple things that in their job position they should have been trained in. Furthermore on this aspect the staff needed to be better trained in regards to hospitality. Multiple times we had people getting on the elevators (elderly especially) and there would be multiple staff in the elevator and they would just stand there and wait when there was no room for the guests. They needed to exit the elevator and put the guests first but they just would stand there and we would have to wait for the next elevator. For our honeymoon we went on a Norwegian cruise and the hospitality and service was impeccable so maybe I am comparing that but I think there is definitely more staff training that could be done to allow this beautiful place to be taken to the next level.

A little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Very professional. Exceptional service.

Heidel House was a pleasure to work with. The day of our wedding, the staff was kind, attentive, and worked above and beyond to please my husband and I. They were friendly and prompt, never ran behind schedule, and very quick with serving dinner. The food was AMAZING by the way...all our guests kept commenting that it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. Unique dishes with huge portions, served very hot (and we had an outdoor wedding), and great flavors! Heidel House also was a great venue because of the ambiance. They have everything..if you want outdoor, they have the lake and the woodsy cottage area with the tent, and they also have ballrooms with beautiful lake view balconies. It really feels like a destination wedding because of the exclusivity.

I was a little let down with Evensong Spa, however. Mostly because out of 3 stylists doing my wedding party's hair that day, only 1 knew how to do hair and the others didn't give modern up-dos at all (I had a young wedding party and we hated the slicked back hair look. We were going for loose, Grecian waves and it seemed impossible to accomplish). Also they were really behind schedule. I was stressing pretty bad with how long it was taking everyone to get their hair done. It was 9:15 am and I was still getting my hair done...my ceremony was at 11 am and I hadn't done my makeup or any other pre-wedding tasks yet. Needless to say, I wouldn't go back.

My advice is to have your wedding at Heidel House, but get your hair/makeup done out in town (only 2-5 minutes away from the venue!).

My Husband and I had our after wedding here. The room was fantastic. We had the honeymoon. The bed seemed New. Matthew, my husband did not like the bed. It was too soft for him. It was fine until he wanted to sleep. Other than the prices of champagne and spa, this was best night of my life.

We chose to have our wedding at the Heidel House for its beautiful lake-views. The wedding itself was beautiful and a great day. There were, however, some hitches along the way that made this event less than perfect for the bride and groom.
Our rehearsal dinner was held on site. We chose the pizza buffet from the list of packages. For 40+ people they put out 2 medium pizzas along with a basket of bread sticks and salad. We had to harass the servers into bringing out a 3rd pizza which still wasn't enough for all our guests and many left hungry. All-in-all, our rehearsal dinner was a bit of a mess, with the only saving grace being the baked goods we brought from an outside bakery.
As far as set-up for the reception, Star and her team did not seem eager to help even after asked by the brides family. The Father of the bride had to personally help the harpist load and unload her harp to our ceremony, which does not seem acceptable given what we paid and that fact that Heidel House has a coordinator on site.
At the reception the food served received many compliments and our guests were generally very happy. There were a few instances however that were very off. One wedding guest could not find his place card and Star was very rude to him as a result, there were not drinks offered to the head table until the groom flagged down a server, there were a few tables that had to bus their own dishes because they were not being cleared, and there were not forks available at the cake table until repeated requests were given. Finally, our leftover cake was given to us all jammed into one box without any separation between pieces and had to be thrown away.

Overall, we chose this venue for the view and for the destination-like feel and that did not disappoint. We had amazing pictures as a result of getting married on the water. Looking at previous reviews Star and her team have received so much praise that we can not help but be disappointed by our treatment on our day.
