Heena was the BEST, my wedding ceremony was in NY while I was planning my wedding from MA. Heena was extremely flexible with scheduling my trial and even gave me a discount because I had to travel back to NY for it.

I was complimented on my makeup by everyone and most of all my husband loved it, the makeup was not cakey or overly dramatic- makeup was flawless but still looked like myself. She spent alot of time on my hair making sure it looked beautiful from the back as well as the front even though it would be covered by my veil, really appreciated that!
She's really easy to work with and I love her business style; very detail oriented, organized and on time (even thought we were running late.)

She listens! She listened to every single detail I wanted. After being disappointed by multiple other trials, Heena was a delight.

I've seen some brides who have layers and layers of make-up plastered to their faces, but Heena made me look like a better version of myself for my wedding and reception. She used clean brushes, quality make-up products, stayed calm when I was in a panic over my perfect dupatta/veil setting, and listened exactly to what I wanted. I would recommend her in a heartbeat.

I was a crazy and stressed out bride. I had 10 girls in my bridal party. 2 Moms and 3 flower girls and I was trying to micromanage everything on the morning of the ceremony. Everything had to be done perfectly and exactly to my liking. When I sat in Heenas makeup chair I FINALLY felt like "Ahh, this is really happening, I am getting married" I felt relaxed and happy to be able to sit back and just enjoy. Heena was calm and patient the whole time. Even when I was yelling. Her hand was steady and I LOVED my makeup for the ceremony and especially the reception! I have already recommended her to all my engaged friends!

I met Heena at my husband's cousin's wedding and thought she was just awesome and booked her quickly for my wedding.Heena and her team were great they accommodated my huge family and bridal party flawlessly on a Holiday no less! Amazing!!!

Heena did my make up for my sister’s wedding and she was absolutely amazing!! She was professional, experienced and talented. I have sensitive skin and cystic acne and was able to cover all my acne scars without make me look cakey or clownish. You can tell she has experience with diverse clientele because she was able to match my skin tone.

Her talent is matched by her professionalism. She was calm on a hectic day and never lost her cool! Additionally she was able to match everyone’s tastes. Whether they wanted a heavy full face, or a more natural look- she was able to achieve it. Thank you so much Heena! -Jane

Heena is an unbelievably talented makeup artist. I had gone to a few trials before Heena and wasn't completely satisfied. One trial with Heena and I was sold! Heena was able to very cleanly hide dark spots and match my skin tone flawlessly which was difficult for many other artists. The makeup stayed on all day long without any issues. I would highly recommend Heena for her skill, professionalism and friendliness.

Heena was an amazing makeup artist. She was the great right from the beginning! From the moment I first reached out to inquire about her availability to the end Heena was nothing short of friendly and professional. Heena listened to what i wanted my look to be like and worked with me even on last minute changes. During my wedding day when I was busy trying to work out all the other disasters that popped up Heena kept me calm. She was also ON TIME and had me and my family ready long before the time I asked to be ready by. The most important part was that my makeup came out flawless, even through all the crying I did during my event. She was very thorough with her work and even between doing different people she cleaned her tools and brushes which is very important because I didn't have to worry about breaking out after or having any sort of skin reaction. She does makeup well without it looking caked on. I would highly recommend Heena to anyone!

Henna was amazing!! She made me look like myself for my wedding day and that was the most important thing for me! I had 2 trials with her and both times she listened, was patient, made great recommendations and worked with what I had requested. She also was great with understanding my complexion and even told me some things about my skin tone that I didn't even realize! The day of was nothing less and she spent time to make sure everything was perfect. For someone like me who loves makeup, but never wears foundation, her skills and advice were spot on! I chose airbrush foundation and I think that was the best choice. Plus, she is super skilled with airbrushing and it felt lightweight. Heena and her assistant did a wonderful job making all 10 of my girls look and feel amazing! Heena even understood the craziness that comes the morning of with family in and out of my house, and got everyone around me quiet so I could feel relaxed! Heena was also great with the scheduling and keeping to time. Heena - Thank you sooo much!! My makeup lasted throughout the day and night and was perfect! You are awesome!! I would highly recommend her!!

Great makeup. Gave me a second trial for free because I was unsure the first time. The hair person (Kacey) she works with is fantastic as well. The women who pinned the saris were not good. She did arrive late the second day because of a car issue which delayed the schedule but she was very accommodating.

Having Heena as my makeup artist was a privilege. I couldn't have asked for a kinder funnier and genuine person to have spent those hours with. I arrived late on both days and yet she showed no sign of annoyance, although I can only imagine the frustration she must have felt. My hair and make up were perfect on both days and came out great in my pictures. Each look was completely different from the other. All in all Heena was an amazing artist with an even more amazing personality.

Heena is amazing! I was very nervous to get my wedding makeup done by anyone only because I knew how important it is, and how it could make or break my big day! No bride wants to look ugly or not like themselves on their wedding day. From the moment I met up with Heena at my trial prior to the wedding, I knew I was in good hands. Not only did she make me very comfortable throughout the whole process, but she is truly an artist. I showed her the types of looks I wanted, and instead of copying them completely, she tweaked and tailored them to my facial features and skin type. She had a lot of great suggestions and did not rush through the trial. I could tell she was a perfectionist.

On my wedding day, she arrived promptly. I was a bit worried because my wedding was 2 states away but she definitely left in good time. I was a nervous wreck that day and thankfully she was my zen while getting ready. Even though we were running late for pictures, she had this incredibly calm aura around her that radiated and helped me calm myself down! She did an amazing job on my makeup (I had 2 different looks for ceremony & reception). It seems like these days any girl with fancy makeup brushes and mac makeup considers herself a makeup artist. This was not the case with Heena. She knows what she's doing and her sweet, bubbly personality made the entire experience fun & pleasant, felt like I was hanging out with one of my own girl friends!

Wonderful experience!

Heena is the absolute best at what she does. I was starting to get discouraged after completing two trials with other artists for my wedding. After meeting Heena, she really listened to what I wanted, my problem areas, and understood my more natural style. My trial was everything I hoped it would be. She also did hair and makeup for my bridal shower and I had never gotten so many compliments before!

On wedding day, Heena and her team were calm and collected. I loved everything about my look - from foundation, to lashes, to lip color. The best part was that I looked like a heightened version of myself. My bridal party consisted of girls from many different backgrounds, skin tones, and styles. Heena was able to cater to each girl and personalize their look. Everyone looked stunning! We stayed on time and I never felt stressed during the whole process. I felt absolutely beautiful walking down the aisle. Thank you Heena!

Heena was my hair and makeup artist for my wedding this past September , and she did an incredible job! She was very attentive to what I had asked for in terms of various hair/makeup looks and with her expertise she was able to provide so many helpful ideas. Truly dedicated and talented in her work which you know she just enjoys doing! One of the best things was that Her and her team are excellent with their timing! I had a morning wedding , so I was tense for pretty much the whole year about getting ready in time and so Heena made it a point to get the proper scheduling done. I was married on August 31, 2014 at Monteverde at Oldstone in Cortlandt Manor, NY and hired Heena to do my hair, makeup and dressing (Hindu wedding) for the ceremony and reception and my mom's hair, makeup and sari draping for the full day (just one look). Heena was great, from our first meeting through the wedding day.

On the wedding day, Heena was the BEST! I was running late to the venue by a little bit, but she was very patient when I texted her to let her know. When we got there she was all set up and ready to go. I just jumped in the chair and she went to work doing exactly what I wanted - making me look like the best version of myself without making me look too made up. The makeup was flawless and the hair styling was great! Heena knew we only had a short period of time to change my look from the ceremony to the reception (from an up do to a down do), so she crafted an up do that would easily transfer down. She was incredible! When the day got a little unpredictable (weather!), she ended up staying later than we expected, but never complained or even mentioned it to me.

Heena also was SO helpful with my entire family. Even though she'd only been hired to give my mom one look, she did touchups before the reception. She also gave out styling tips to family who were getting ready with me (even lent people things if they needed it). She was such a calm and relieving presence to have when things got crazy. The makeup lasted ALL DAY and into the night (and even for the after party), even when I was perspiring from the heat, humidity, dancing and fun having (even though I was bad at listening to her and kept rubbing instead of patting my upper lip - sorry Heena!). I can not recommend her services enough.

Heena, you made me look amazing, you made the pictures look amazing and you were so professional and wonderful, I hope every bride is smart enough to work with you on her wedding day!

AMAZING! I booked Heena and her team for my wedding and reception July 2019 and could not be happier with my decision. The makeup artist is the first person you see on your wedding day, bright and early. They are there during the most critical parts of your day and during the most stressful as well. Heena was an absolutely GEM! She was on time which I can not emphasis enough to everything. During the whole process, she was calm, patient and absolutely amazing. She went ABOVE and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. While doing the makeup and hair she asked my opinion and gave her honest suggestions. We had done a trail and the look I wanted was not at all what I described. She patiently listened and saw the ideas I had and she informed me of the style I was actually seeking and she was absolutely right.

I haven't even mentioned the actual look itself. It was flawless. For the wedding I felt completely like myself but absolutely beautiful. She accentuated all my features and made me look flawless without taking away from who I was. The reception look was BAM and I loved all of it. Every single person complimented my makeup, specifically, as well as hair. Heena's team also did hair and makeup on both my mom and my mother in law and again, it was flawless. They both look vibrant, young and absolutely stunning. Her team made them feel comfortable by answering any questions they had and giving them opinions when they felt stuck on decisions such as eyeshadow colors etc.

Hair and Makeup is such an important part of the wedding and I am someone that does plenty of research before picking anything. I would 100% recommend Heena to anyone and everyone, not only because she is EXTREMELY talented at her art but also because her personality and who she is as a person makes you feel comfortable, special and absolutely at ease. I am so happy that I got to work with Heena and her team and they were part of my big day :)

Heena is a true artist and was hones and flexible.

Important Factors:

1. Timing - Heena was always early and set up with her supplies 30 minutes prior to the timings i had given her. Timing is so crucial during a wedding and she never let me down.

2. Makeup Style - the looks Heena gave for all my events were unique and at the same time didnt look like I had makeup on in an unnatural way. She knows the latest makeup trends and shared them with me during my trials to see how I liked them on myself.

3. Trial - Heena and I worked through my outfits well before the events and did trials with various styles i might like. It turned out she tried a style with my eyes I thoughtt i wouldn't like, but LOVED it, so i ended up doing that for my reception.

4. Family Makeup - Heena took care of my sister and sister-in-law for every event as well and both girls were very happy with their makeup.

Heena takes a genuine interest in what I was looking for and listened, which is so important, because makeup is probably one of the most important aspects, because your pictures are forever! Heena is a wonderful person to work with. Not only is she professional but she is so patient and sweet. I think that Heena is awesome! I had done 2 trails with her and both were a very different look. I think it takes time for a makeup artist to figure out what a bride has in mind and what compliments her well. Heena was very patient and did a spectacular job with both my hair and makeup. Heena is so down to earth and very easy to get along with. She’s very honest. She wants you to feel comfortable (for those brides who don’t always wear makeup) and happy with your look. I met Heena when she did my cousins wedding a year ago. I was impressed with her teams ability to get a large Indian bridal party of 12 bridesmaids plus the bride and mom ready ON TIME and looking fabulous. I knew from that moment I wanted to book her for my wedding. A year later I had the pleasure of Heena doing my hair and makeup as a bride and my bridal party. Everyone complemented me on how flawless my makeup looked. She was able to make my vision of a soft glam bride come to life. Heena was great with trials in experimenting with different variations of my hair and makeup to make sure it looked perfect for the big day. My bridal party looked beautiful as well. Heena Das did my hair and makeup for my wedding on June 6th, 2015 and it came out beautiful! She was meticulous, creative and on time! She knows how to work under pressure. Looking back on my wedding she was one of the vendors that delivered what was promised. She even met up with me a few times before the wedding to go over my hair style and tested out my extensions. Heena is a VERY talented beauty professional. She worked with me every step of the way and went above and beyond to ensure I was happy with my hair and makeup looks before the wedding day. Heena was the best make-up artist I could ask for. I had many people that needed to get ready and she provided two additional make-up artists and three hair stylists. My family and bridesmaids loved what they did! Most of them don't wear any make-up and they felt that the artists all listened to what they have to say. Heena was great enough to come back to my venue TWICE to update my make-up as I had two ceremonies and needed help with my Indian outfit. I would highly recommend her to anyone!

Heena is absolutely AMAZING!!! She did mine and my sisters makeup for my sister's wedding. We had a total of 3 events and she gave us a different look for each event. Heena is a true talent, she takes your facial features, skin type and your personality into account when coming up with a unique look made just for you. Heena did an amazing job and was so great to work with – everyone commented how great my skin looked and how flawless my make-up was. And I loved the hair styles she pulled together for me.
I did a hair and make-up trial with Heena about nine-months before the event, and she carefully listened to what I wanted – giving some advice but still sticking to the more natural look I was going for. The she used the trial photos to adapt for the main event – which I was very impressed by. For my two wedding events, she did two amazing but different looks for me – coordinating with the vibe of the party and my outfits. She was so nice and easy to work with – checking in with me along the way and explaining what she was doing. She also helped with my clothes and jewelry, to ensure it all worked together.
We also had her team come style my 2 MOHs, Mom and Flower girl – and they were all happy with their looks. Plus the whole team was so much fun to have around! I highly recommend Heena and would use her again in a heartbeat.

I love Heena's work!! I had previously went to another artist for a trial and I left very unhappy and uncomfortable with my hairstyle and makeup, yes both. I was upset and stressed the whole time I did not have access to the mirror so I had no idea what I was going to look like. When I finally got to see myself, I felt like my skin was darker and my hairstyle did not look like what I told her to do. I really tried to love my new look but it was hard enough to even like it. Then my cousin told me about Heena, and I checked out her Instagram page and website, I figured okay let me do a trial with her, luckily I got a spot. I walked in her salon very nervous and not excited at all. I showed her what I wanted, and I had a mirror directly in front of me and was able to see everything. She kept ASKING ME, is this good or is this too much? When she was done I was in complete shock!! She did such a great job, I went home and I did not want to clean my makeup off, I felt pretty! She brightened my skin, worked with colors that suit my face, I felt like a BRIDE. She gave me confidence and hope, it made me feel so much better. She is a true artist, if you show her what you want she will definitely get the work done and that's what a customer is looking for. Even my bridesmaids were so happy with their makeup. She and her team are wonderful people to work with.

During my consultation with Heena, I told her that I did not use makeup on a daily basis, so I did not want to look like a completely different person on my wedding day. I had the opportunity to work with Heena for my wedding day. First of I want to begin with the fact that she was extremely professional when it came to answering questions on time and responding to emails. I also enjoyed the fact that during the trial she actually did a great job discussing ideas with me. I had told her what I had wanted and she was able to capture that just by looking at a picture. I also enjoyed her team very much. They all showed up on time and they gave out cute little emergency kits for all the bridesmaids and me. My bridesmaids really loved her team as well because they took their time and listened to what each bridesmaid wanted. They made sure I also felt at ease on my wedding day so i was not too stress. I think the best part for me was that Heena took a great amount of time focusing on the little details. Usually, towards the end I have noticed that some hairstylists start to slow down because they become exhausted with the work but she literally gave 100%. I absolutely loved working with Heena. From the trial to the day of the wedding I felt that she was attentive with the looks I wanted for my ceremony and reception. If she had a different idea, she suggested it, but was never pushy and never made me feel like I had to take her advice because she was the expert and I wasn't (Come on brides to be reading this, you've spent hours on Pinterest, made boards of possible hair and make up looks. Truth : just because you like a certain look, doesn't mean that look will like you back).

I think what made this experience better was that she, herself was organized throughout the entire process. She made sure to reach out to me before the event itself and went over the timelines thoroughly. She's passionate about what she does and her friendly personality is a bonus.

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Heena from start to finish! The minute I got engaged, I knew I wanted to book her from the work I've seen her do on a few Indian brides I knew. I booked her well in advance for my wedding, but I couldn't do a trial with her until about a month before my wedding, because my fiancé lived abroad. But that didn't stop her from being so attentive! She's been so great with her responses and response time, always willingly to answer even the simplest questions. And the minute I met her at the trial, her personality drew me in! She was so personable and so great with everything. She catered to the exact look I wanted, even changing things around on the day of the wedding. She wouldn't let me leave her chair on my wedding day until I was truly happy with my look. Heena and her team did the hair, make up and sari pinnings for 6 of my bridesmaids who were getting ready at the hotel (close to the ceremony and reception locations in North Jersey) at 1:30 AM. I would and have already recommended Heena and her team to anyone who asks. Heena and I had communicated via email and phone and had never actually met in person. However, between our conversations and the images I had sent, she and her team had delivered EXACTLY what I had envisioned. They arrived on time, and had all the girls fully ready about an hour before the scheduled time. Not only did they finish before the scheduled time, Heena and her assistant waited to say hi to me, as I had traveled to the hotel in New Jersey, from my home in Connecticut that morning.

I cannot count or express how many compliments we received on their overall look!

Heena was a pleasure to speak to at all times, and very professional. I had received Heena's information from a friend and would happily pass it along to anyone else who asks!

Heena did my wedding day hair & makeup and my Mendhi makeup - and both looks were absolutely beautiful! For bridal looks, she's definitely the person to go to. Even though my wedding day look was very different from what we did at the trial, she was extremely responsive whenever I kept bombarding her with different pictures/ideas and totally got what I was really looking for. Seriously - it was exactly what I wanted for my wedding day! Ask for the airbrush makeup. She got me done at 8am and I was still good to go well past midnight!
The only thing I wished was that the team of MUAs she brought in for my bridal party was up to her level too because I could tell that not all of my bridesmaids were completely happy and some of them felt overdone. Regardless, everyone still looked beautiful and everyone was ready on time!

I contracted Heena Das for my wedding makeup, hair and dressing and was 100% pleased. I normally don't wear much makeup but for this event I wanted to be 'made up' but without the feeling like I have something 'on'. Heena and her team provided hair and makeup services for me, my family and my bridesmaids for my wedding in July. I had a number of events and very short turn-around times between the events, so it was crucial that my various hair and makeup looks be completed in a timely fashion. I explained all of this to Heena and she worked with me to create a timeline that worked with our wedding weekend itinerary - and we stuck to it, not only for my hair and makeup but also for my family and bridesmaids (there were 13 of us total, so it was no easy feat to keep that many people on time!). I worked with Heena for my Indian fusion wedding and couldn't have done it without her! She was patient and understanding as I flip flopped on more than one occasion debating going more dramatic vs less. In the end, she helped me realize that a more soft look was what looked best and I couldn't have been happier. I had a 2 day event and booked Heena for makeup and hair. She was able to take her time and get my makeup done flawlessly. She showed up on time and was very down-to-earth. I felt like she was a friend than just a makeup artist that I booked. Heena made my mom, sister, bridal party & I feel very comfortable. She was able to make two very different looks for each day that I was happy with.

Prior to my event, Heena was very helpful with recommendations on products to use to help clear up my skin in preparation for the big day.

The hairstylist that worked with Heena, did a good job. I have a lot of hair, and any person that can manage to put my hair in an updo and not have it fall apart gets a 5-star rating!

Heena did an excellent job with the makeup for all the indian members of the bridal party - however the makeup she placed on the bridesmaids of other races was quickly taken off by each of them (which given the expense was highly disappointing).

Also, she was late for the first day's getting ready time, and the hairdresser that she recommended for the second day was 3 hours late, resulting in a compressed schedule, stress and somewhat sloppy hair that came out over the course of the day for many of the bridal party.

Overall, Heena is a very nice person to work with, and if you are working with an all Indian wedding she would be a good choice, though insuring timeliness is important as it is not stress anyone needs on their wedding day.

Heena agreed to send one of her associates to do hair and make up for a wedding. The girl showed up the night before the wedding and complained about the hair type as she worked on the grooms sisters hair. Before she left Friday night we confirmed 1:30 to set up Saturday afternoon, the day of the wedding. At 1:30 I received a text from Teresa cancelling for the day, clearly she just changed her mind. Henna returned my call around 4pm and offered to send someone else which at that point was too little too late. A week later we still can't comprehend how someone can simply change their mind and leave a wedding party hanging.
