Heather photographed our wedding in Boston and we couldn't have been happier. She has a great unobtrusive way of capturing the day. She made great recommendations for photos that ended up being our favorite shots of the day. The photos came out beautifully and looked just how I remembered the day. Heather is a truly talented photographer. My husband and I were drawn to her more documentary-style photography. She did our engagement photos in chilly February, and our wedding photos on a rainy day in October, so I can say with certainty that she is ready for any situation! She really takes the time to get to know you and figure out what you want; she is great to chat with and she really put me at ease, calming my nerves as I was getting ready on wedding day. After doing our portrait-style photos first, we were pretty much unaware of her during the ceremony and reception, which is to say she never got in the way or was noticeable, yet she somehow captured everything. I don’t know how she did that but it was like magic! The photos turned out beautifully. I can’t recommend Heather highly enough.Heather is a truly talented photographer. Heather is fabulous! She photographed one of my bridesmaid's weddings a few years ago so it was great to work with someone I was already familiar with. My friend's pictures are stunning and we knew right away that Heather was the obvious choice. We did our engagement pictures with her in Jamaica Plain and had an absolute blast. She's so much fun to be around and is willing to do pretty much anything to get a cool picture. She even rented us a rowboat to take out on the pond!
We haven't gotten our wedding pictures yet but I know they'll be just as (if not more!) beautiful than our engagement pictures. She did an amazing job capturing every moment of our wedding day. Everyone commented on how smoothly the family and bridal party portraits went and we finished them all before the reception started so we could enjoy the rest of the evening!

Great communication throughout, we met with her to see examples of her previous work and knew exactly what to expect. Overall, the quality of the pictures were amazing, she is competitively priced and doesn't miss a shot! It was just the style we were looking for in our photos and they couldn't be better.

Heather Parker was recommended to us by our wedding venue in a list of other photographers. After checking out all of their online portfolios, Heather's work was the clear stand-out. I was particularly drawn to her use of color and composition, but what really set her apart was her ability to capture real moments. Her photography is stunning, and it avoids many of the cliches associated with wedding photography. My fiancé and I met her for coffee before deciding if we wanted to hire her. In person, she was unassuming, funny, and I immediately felt comfortable around her. After that initial meeting, there was no question that we wanted to book Heather. I feel like Heather took the time to get to know me and my fiance, and I can see that in our wedding photos. From that first meeting, to our outdoor engagement photoshoot, to the actual wedding day, we spent more time with Heather than with anyone else who worked with us on the wedding. It is truly special to see all of our friends and family members through Heather's lens, and I think none of us have ever looked better. Heather is a professional when she's working. She does not waste time, she is completely organized, and above all else, she delivers incredible results. She was clearly shooting with us in mind; what was important to us, what we thought was funny, candid moments that she knew we wouldn't want to miss. When we began planning our wedding it was so important that our vendors were talented, caring, and fun individuals. Needless to say we wanted to genuinely like them, but from the second we met, we loved Heather. Having a relative who is a wedding photographer, we got three tips on what to look for.
Find someone that has a creative style that you love.
Find someone that can take photos in dark halls without looking all grainy, blurred, or pixelated.
Find someone who's photos look like they were taken out of a movie scene.
Heather was all that. She was always available to talk throughout the planning process everything we discussed together had an undertone of ease to it, so when the big day came I was not a bridezilla. Our photos were very much in the moment and gorgeous. We get so many compliments that spanned several generations. Her photos are modern, creative and beautifully composed.
She arrived on time, got great shots of our guests without asking them to stop what they were doing for a shot, and delivered our photos before we moved overseas. There isn’t enough room in a review to express our full appreciate and praise for Boston wedding photographer, Heather Parker. My wife and I were married in September at Commander’s Mansion in Watertown, MA. Right from the start Heather was prompt, responsive, and worked closely with us, to think through, how best to document our celebration. Neither of us had worked with a professional photographer before. Having Heather document our wedding felt natural and comfortable. We never felt like we were being staged or positioned in scenarios that weren’t natural to our personalities. From an outdoor ceremony held during the peak of the afternoon, to an indoor cocktail hour, to an outdoor evening dinner, under a tent lit with candles and lanterns, our wedding had a broad range of lighting scenarios that Heather had to manage. I’m thrilled to say that the photographs captured were amazing. One of the joy’s in viewing all of the images from start to finish, is seeing the progression of how our day unfolded and discovering all of the wonderful moments that were captured during that wonderful day. Heather not only captured the formal family portraits that were so important to us, but also those split second, once in a life time images, of our friends and family celebrating together. Heather Parker is a talented, fun, artistic photojournalist and we were lucky that she was available for hire on our wedding day. She was able to capture very meaningful and memorable shots but by blending into the crowd without adding ANY undue stress. It was incredible and I am not certain how she was able to accomplish the task.
Brian and I were married in Boston and really wanted a photographer that would fully engage in the most special day of our lives, we searched for the best and found her! Heather travels the world so we instantly had a connection. It felt like she really knew us and captured the love that binds us from this day forward.

Heather was such a pleasure to work with. Paul and I first hired her for our engagement shoot, almost two years before our actual wedding! She has such great artistic style and vision. We have only seen about 10 of our wedding photos so far, but they are amazing and we can't wait to see the rest! We couldn't have asked for a better photographer for our wedding day. If you want timeless, breath taking candid photos, than Heather is the way to go. You will not be disappointed.Heather was such a pleasure to work with. What a wonderful early Christmas present we got this morning as we were able to spend hours looking through our wedding photos. I could hardly wait to see them and now that they are here I don't know how I am going to be a good house guest as I am sure that I will be sneaking away to the computer for a few more hours! Besides for the two of us picking each other as husband and wife, picking our wedding photographer was the second most important thing to us because we wanted someone who would be able to capture exactly how we felt about eachother and how everyone else saw our love. We are so absolutely lucky to have found Heather Parker and we couldn't be happier! In planning our wedding, photography was one of the most important aspects to me, I knew the day would go by in a blur, we had elected not to have a videographer, and I, myself, am an avid enthusiast of beautiful photography - so an exceptional partner to cover this critical detail was a must.
As such, I had spoken with over 20 photographers when I finally came across Heather Parker - I LOVED her editorial / photo-journalistic style and her rates seemed reasonable in comparison to other photographers I'd interviewed.
From day one, Heather was attentive, professional, insightful, and passionate about her work and our wedding. She went above and beyond for us at every turn - from an engagement shoot in Chicago (where we were living at the time, though scheduling our wedding in my hometown of Boston), to proactively joining us for our walk-through at the venue and snapping a few pictures for me to reference while I planned the wedding from afar, to reminding me to eat during the reception. During the ceremony Heather even managed to get pictures of me walking down the aisle and then ran all the way around the church to the side to capture a photo of my father lifting my veil - without even the slightest disturbance... I'm still trying to figure out how she did that! She did the work of three photographers and made it all look so easy!
Heather provided us with our wedding pictures promptly on schedule (within 8 weeks of the wedding) - in Black & White and color, on DVD, with no watermarks; a service that I have come to understand is rare - (Many photographers retain the pictures for 6 months to a year before handing them over to the clients, forcing the newlyweds to purchase images from a third party site in the meantime).
Heather does all of these things because she genuinely loves what she does and is exceptionally good at it. We loved working with Heather, from our engagement shoot to the wedding day photos. Heather was so easy to work with both in the time leading up to the wedding and on the wedding day. She made great suggestions about what to have ready to photograph, where to take pictures for various points during the day, and what sort of things to consider in making wedding decisions. She even made some great suggestions for dealing with other vendors. Heather was responsive over email and phone, and she was very communicative in the days leading up to the wedding, which made me feel more confident. The photos came our amazing! We loved all of them, and Heather was able to capture perfectly both the standard photos we expected to see and the unstaged/unexpected photos that depict the day so well. I love Heather!!! She gave us exactly the photos we wanted to preserve our memory of our wedding. She was so professional and helped us find other wonderful vendors that helped make our wedding a success. I was planning the wedding from abroad and she was extremely flexible in having Skype meetings. Without Heather we would not have had the first class wedding team that pulled off our big day without a hitch!! I couldn't recommend Heather more!I love Heather!!! my fiancé and I had a "Yelp wedding" (found a lot of our vendors on Yelp), and Heather was an amazing find! Her price can't be beat and she provides clients with full-size non-watermarked images, which is rare in wedding photography these days. She shot our wedding on May 30th in Harvard Suare, and working with her was a breeze: she came to my apartment to take photos of me getting ready, while the second photographer she brought with her went to my husband's hotel room to capture him getting ready with his groomsmen. I love seeing those photos of moments before we even saw each other!
We combined Hindu and Christian traditions in our ceremony, and she took shot after shot of my henna, all the saris, clothes and food so that we can relive our wedding through the details that are hard to remember once the day flies by.

We love our wedding photos, and are so happy we chose Heather. She captured so many of the day's emotions -- moments that really made our wedding so special, and it is awesome to see the whole story of our day in the photos. My husband and I felt so comfortable, and it shows in the photos! She also got great shots of all of the little details that we put tons of time and heart into. Heather was very responsive throughout the planning process, and had great recommendations for other vendors, helping us put together an awesome team of people who worked well together and made the day flow seamlessly. Another big plus with Heather is that she provides full resolution color and black and white DVDs (no watermark) for the photos. We originally hired Heather to complete our engagement photographs in Boston, MA in our neighborhood, Fort Point. The quality of her work, attention to detail, creativity and her relaxed personality resulted in an exceptional experience and phenomenal photographs.
We were so thrilled with her work, that we asked her to photograph our wedding in Colorado.
Given her level of talent and quality of work, we hired her as the the sole photographer at our wedding, without assistants, etc. We were interested in a digestible number of very high quality photographs, instead of thousands of photographs to sort through – many of which we would never use. We were absolutely thrilled with the wedding photo portfolio that Heather created. I would highly recommend her based on her quality of work and flexible, easy-going personality. We just got our pictures from our wedding and we absolutely LOVE them. Heather did such an amazing job capturing so many of the important moments, and did so with an incredibly high quality. We would highly recommend her to others. As with any important decision, it’s good to be informed so the following sums up our experience with Heather.
Some of the many positives:
-She was very easy to reach throughout the planning process
-An engagement shoot was included which helped all of us feel more comfortable together
-She and her assistant had a very subtle and unobtrusive presence at the wedding (some guests didn’t even realize there were photographers floating around), while still capturing TONS of meaningful moments and scenes.
-Incredibly beautiful and high quality photos (both given in an online gallery and a DVD with all of the digital photos to use as we wish)
-Beautiful photojournalism style of capturing the day
Some aspects of her style/work that people should be aware of:
-She’s passionate about her photojournalistic style, so she openly admits that the posed family & bridal party portraits are not as much of an interest or strength for her. We had to be more assertive about what we wanted in this category and she followed through with our requests. Regardless of her limited interest in portraits, those pictures turned out great. For one portrait she even got a toddler to stop crying long enough for a picture by getting everyone else to start singing a song. It was a genius move!
- She didn’t stick around for all of the dancing, and in turn missed a few moments that would have been nice to capture. In the grand scheme she still got so many great shots that it wasn’t too much of an issue.
-A lot of friends who got married around the same time as us got their photos quicker than we did (we got ours around 2 months after). The pictures were worth the wait though and it was really fun to relive the day after we had gotten back into the normal swing of life.
