Let’s get one thing straight: Groove Authority didn’t just play our wedding—they torched the stage and left the tent in a cloud of confetti and happy tears. We hired their full 8-piece band and held our reception under a circus tent in South Dartmouth. But don’t let the quaint coastal vibes fool you—this was an arena-worthy, genre-blending musical blowout.
They opened with our first dance: “Fly Me to the Moon” by Frank Sinatra—smooth, classic, and romantic enough to make the moon blush. Then the band took off like a rocket. Their emcee? Electric. Dude was running the show like a late-night host meets soul singer—getting the crowd hyped, guiding the flow, and belting out tunes like he was born holding a mic.
Let’s talk setlist. They delivered funk, soul, pop, R&B, and rock with the precision of a Swiss watch and the sass of a dance floor icon. And when they leaned into rock—honey, they leaned all the way in. Guitars blazing, drums thunderous, and a badass drum solo that had everyone losing it like they were at Led Zeppelin concert in a tux.
And then—the voice.
Their female lead vocalist? Pipes like Tina, soul like Aretha, and stage presence like Beyoncé on a mission. She didn’t just sing—she slayed. Every note was a sermon. Every high belt was a spiritual experience. She had guests fanning themselves, grabbing their chests, and yelling “YES MA’AM!” after each verse. She didn’t come to play—she came to bring the house down.
We knew we were witnessing something special when dozens of guests and multiple vendors came up to us asking, “Where did you find this band?!” The buzz was real. Based on that reaction alone, we knew we had hit the jackpot.
We even saw relatives dancing we’ve never seen dance before—the shy ones, the quiet cousins, even the stoic uncles. Old and young alike were on that dance floor like they’d just been blessed by the funk gods.
At one point, it felt like we were back in 1981, when you popped in a cassette, fluffed your hair, and sang into your hairbrush like your life depended on it. And then—our finale: “Don’t Stop Believin’.” Our handpicked closer. And they delivered it like it was the last song Earth would ever hear. The tent erupted. Phones were out, hands were up, voices were hoarse. We were one big joyful, Journey-singing family.

We booked Groove Authority for our wedding, and are very glad we did! Nearly every guest we talked to afterwards brought up how much they enjoyed the band! I usually don't dance, but their energy had me out on the dance floor all evening. They also did a great job on our custom song requests! We can’t say enough amazing things about this band — they absolutely made our wedding! From the moment they started playing, the energy in the room skyrocketed. Every single guest was on the dance floor — young and old — and it stayed packed all night long. People were literally dancing until the very last song!
The band went above and beyond to make our night unforgettable. They were incredibly professional, responsive, and kind throughout the entire planning process. They even learned a special song just for our first dance, and it was more beautiful than we could’ve imagined. Their attention to detail and genuine desire to make everything perfect meant the world to us.
They seamlessly read the room and kept the party alive with an incredible mix of classics, modern hits, and everything in between. The sound was phenomenal, the vocals were stunning, and the band’s charisma was off the charts — our guests are still raving about them and several wanted to book on the spot for upcoming events.
It’s no exaggeration to say that they were the heartbeat of our celebration. Their performance didn’t just entertain — it brought everyone together and created the joyful, high-energy vibe we had dreamed of for our wedding. Hiring them was one of the best decisions we made, and we will cherish the memories they helped create forever.

Just stop reading and book them now. But seriously, Groove Authority was a major part of why our wedding was so amazing. So many people at our wedding came up and told us how amazing the band was. From the ceremony, to cocktail hour, to the reception, the music was perfect. They adapt to the crowd and keep everybody dancing all night. Groove Authority was phenomenal for my wedding! They had very clear communication and organization leading up to the big day - specified which songs I definitely wanted to hear and ones that I did not. During the reception, they engaged with the audience with interactive playing and kept the dance floor full all night long! Every guest the next day said something along the liens of "we had a great time, the band was AWESOME!" I highly recommend Paul and Groove Authority for your next event! -

Groove Authority is by far the best wedding band we have seen. We had seen them at a few other weddings before ours, so right after we got engaged, we booked them before we even booked our venue, and let me tell you, they did not disappoint! The dance floor was packed the entire night, and folks were even dancing before dinner came out. Thanks to them, the ceremony ran seamlessly, the speeches were perfect, the parent dances were amazing, and the party was phenomenal. I was initially hesitant when my wife suggested hiring a band, as you never truly know what to expect until the event itself. However, I was absolutely blown away by their performance. The band seamlessly integrated into our wedding atmosphere, creating an engaging and vibrant energy that kept the dance floor alive throughout the reception. Their music was the perfect complement to the intimate and timeless feel we were going for, and they played a major role in making the event unforgettable for all of our guests.
A special mention must go to Mr. Fudin, who handled the band's management and logistics. He was by far one of the most pleasant and accommodating people we worked with during the entire wedding planning process. His thoughtful approach and genuine care for the details made the planning experience much smoother and enjoyable. Mr. Fudin’s professionalism and kindness truly stood out, and he helped ensure the band's performance was nothing short of amazing. -

After being to many weddings, I knew a band was very important to me come our wedding day. I did a LOT of research and finally came to Groove Authority.
What really sold me is that this is a band that plays together consistently - its not just a wedding business where whoever is available - comes and plays. We hired them without ever seeing them live - just based on their youtube videos - and let me tell you it was the BEST decision of our wedding. The dance floor was never empty, they got the crowd excited and hyped. There is not one single person we have talked to who hasn't mentioned how great they were. Our wedding was a majoirty of younger people ( some bands lean more old-school so I thought this was important to mention).
On top of them truly being the best part of our wedding day: working with Paul, the one who executes the contract and gets everything set up, was truly incredible. All vendors should take a lesson from him. He's responsive, helpful, accommodating, and all the above. I was concerned about my budget and Paul reassured me we could make it work. Please don't even hesitate to book this band if you are lucky enough to have them available on your date. it will be the best decision you make! -

My husband and I got married in August, and we couldn’t be happier with our decision to have Groove Authority on our vendor team. After our first phone call with Paul, we felt confident moving forward with this band. You could tell he not only has tons of experience in the field, but he was incredibly friendly, personable, communicative, and organized! The planning process was no different. Paul was very proactive in coordinating phone calls to make sure we were always on the same page, or just to check in if we had questions. It made us feel at ease because we knew we were in good hands!
On the day of the wedding, Paul and his team were instrumental in making the day flow seamlessly. They provided a PA system and microphone for our outdoor ceremony, and they provided the cocktail music via keys and sax (sounded fantastic!). Not only did they help the day go smoothly, but they kept everyone on the dance floor all night! Our guests are still talking about how much fun they had. We loved the range of music they played, and how they were able to cater to what the guests responded to most. It was a blast!
If you are looking for a band with tons of experience, excellent communication, and great energy, look no further than Groove Authority :)

We are so happy we chose Paul and Groove Authority for our wedding band. From the very beginning Paul was communicative and organized. When it came time for the wedding, he worked with us to ensure we had set break lists that didn't overlap with what the band would play. The band is extremely engaging and dynamic, bringing phenomenal energy that will keep your party going. They did a great job reading the crowd and playing songs that reached different generations. We had so many guests come up to us personally to compliment the music throughout the night, which reenforced the fact that we made the right decision bringing them on board! One of the best parts of the night was when the groom joined the band for a song, it was so much fun and an honor to get on stage with these musicians. Thank you! -

Absolutely INCREDIBLY talented band. The band was the one thing my husband and I really cared about for our wedding, so we put in a lot of time researching bands in the Boston area. We even ended up doing our own "Battle of the Bands" with all the demo tapes of Boston area bands, and Groove Authority was the clear winner from the start. They were unbelievably good at the wedding, and the dancefloor was packed the entire time. People are still reaching out to me to say how it’s the best wedding band they’ve ever heard, and it certainly is the best I’ve ever witnessed as well. They played such a perfect mix of today’s hits and wedding classics and our requested songs, and they can play and sing all different genres seamlessly. If you’re going to invest in one thing to make your wedding unforgettable and extremely fun, Groove Authority is it! I am still so blown away by how amazing they were. Highly, highly recommend booking this band. No notes.
GA was also incredibly great to work with throughout the entire planning process. Even when I changed my mind a few times, it was never an issue. They were so kind and flexible it made the process better. I cannot thank GA enough. -

We could not be happier with our decision to have Groove Authority play at our wedding! They made our wedding so much fun. From the time we started communicating with Paul, we knew we were in good hands. He was incredibly responsive and listened to exactly what we wanted. Groove Authority drove from Boston to northern Vermont to provide entertainment for our wedding reception and ceremonial music for our wedding held on 20-July-2024. We had an absolutely amazing time: Groove Authority is an incredible band. We loved everything they performed, and they did it with precision and artistry. Best wedding reception band ever! Paul communicated with us many times in preparation - he was always clear, prompt, and very easy to plan the festivities with. He helped us make good decisions and was flexible when we wanted to do something out of the ordinary. My wife and I are both very particular and planned so many things in detail. Paul and Groove Authority executed every detail perfectly. We downloaded their song list and highlighted all the songs we wanted them to be sure to play. And they did. Every musician in the band is extremely skilled. I cannot recommend them highly enough. We wanted to find an extraordinary band for our celebration, and we did: Groove Authority! I cannot capture in a post how phenomenal Groove Authority is. We booked our wedding date around their schedule to make sure that they would be our wedding band. They kept everyone on the dance floor from start to finish. They engaged with the crowd, sounded amazing and were the most fun and kindest people you'll ever meet. We are already trying to figure out a way to hear them play again. Every guest raved about the band and many asked for details and contact info to book them for future weddings. We loved how Groove Authority is a band that always plays together so their chemistry is unmatched. We paid extra for a third singer and an extra horn and could not have been happier. We also paid for an extra half hour which was 100% worth it. We did not want the night to end. I cannot say enough good things about Groove Authority. If you are between a band or a DJ, a band is the way to go and Groove Authority is the only band I would hire for the job! If you want to have the best wedding ever and for your guests to say it was the best wedding they have ever been to, hire Groove Authority!!!! -

It was such a pleasure working with Paul and Groove Authority throughout the planning process. I just got married last weekend and I couldn't wait to join the long list of glowing reviews for Groove Authority. I knew from my very first phone call with Paul that I was without a doubt going to hire them. Paul was personable, friendly and his obvious love for the band really shows. He was patient with all my requests and changes leading up to the wedding. We hired them to play piano at ceremony, jazz music at cocktail hour and then a 7 person band for the reception. They had everyone from my 90 year old grandma to my 10 year old niece on the dance floor. They interacted with our wedding guests which was a great display of how much they love what they do. They weren't just there to play some music; they were there to put on a show! The lead singer busted out some dance moves that impressed everyone and we even saw one of them play guitar behind their back!!
It was very apparent that this band plays together all the time. Their harmonious flow is not one that can be achieved by just putting a bunch of musicians in a room together, this level of compatibility takes years to perfect. I recommend Groove Authority to absolutely any couple looking for a band that will leave both you and your guests begging for one last song. I will never get tired of hearing our guests raving about Groove Authority's performance! -

Groove Authority played at our wedding at Wequassett Resort this past November and we cannot recommend them enough!! The band manager (and guitarist) Paul was amazing to work with from the start. He was very helpful at answering all our questions and planning with us to make sure everything on the day went smoothly. Groove Authority played music for our ceremony and at our reception. We had so many of our guests come up to us that night & in the weeks after to say how amazing the band was!
Paul and the band also did an incredible job with our formal dance songs. They were able to shorten them just the way we wanted and they played them perfectly. They even did a special bonus formal dance song so I could share a dance with my grandfather, which was such a memorable moment.
Groove Authority truly brought the energy for our reception and made it such a party. The dance floor was so crowded because no one wanted to leave and miss a song. They did a great job at engaging the crowd and playing songs that kept guests of all ages out dancing. We can’t thank Groove Authority enough for helping to make our day special and would highly recommend them to anyone planning a wedding!

Two months after our wedding, people are still commenting on our amazing our band was. Hiring Groove Authority as our wedding band was the best decision we made! We had been to a wedding a few years ago where they played, and when we got engaged the first band we thought of was GA. We wanted a band who could play songs that we loved but also songs that our parents/grandparents loved - and they were a perfect fit.
Paul was immediately responsive and extremely helpful. He was happy to walk us through the process and patient with all of our questions. Once we got closer to the wedding, we spoke a few times and walked through our timeline and order of everything any time that things changed, which made me feel so comfortable that Paul was on top of it all. My dad is a musician and wanted to play with the band - they were so accommodating. The song went so well that the band asked my dad to play Sweet Caroline later on in the night with them, which everyone also loved.
They interacted with the crowd, came into the middle of the dance floor and everyone had the most amazing time with them. We did not leave the dance floor all night - and neither did our guests! Our dance floor was completely packed and we wouldn't have had it any other way. I couldn't imagine our wedding without Groove Authority - if you're thinking about working with them, don't hesitate!! -

When planning our wedding my husband and I went to my best friends wedding in Boston in 2022 and Groove Authority was the band they had. We danced ALL night! We loved them so much that we booked them for our own wedding which at Sugarbush in Vermont, and they were amazing again! Our family and friends could not stop saying how much they loved the band. We even had friends who joined them on the mic.
We also had members of the band play music for our ceremony - and they did an incredible job with that as well!
AND we were able to book a photo booth through them, which was a huge hit with our guests.

Truly Talented
My wedding was last night and I could not wait to write this ode to Paul and the band. Our friends and family were blown away by GA. As a musician myself, I have nothing but the highest praise for Groove Authority. Paul especially made things so easy and comfortable from our very first interactions through the night of our wedding. That was really important for us because we were asking Groove Authority to do everything from managing the sound system, emceeing throughout the night, playing live music for both the cocktail hour and the reception (including new song requests), and many other details.
And what a night of dancing we had! Groove Authority has such talented performers who really know how to work the crowd. We had so many guests tell us how memorable Groove Authority made our celebration, and some even decided that they now need a live band (instead of DJ) for their own upcoming weddings. We feel so grateful that we were able to have them as part of our wedding! -

Groove Authority was fantastic! Pretty much every guest made a point of saying how great they were, and how we agree!
Paul and the band worked with us to learn a new song for our first dance, adapted the arrangement to match our preferences, and helped craft a schedule that really worked.
The energy throughout the night was exactly what we wanted. We hope this is our only wedding, but would hire them again in a heartbeat if we had the right occasion! -

Groove Authority is the best band! As soon as we booked our venue, we started looking for a band, because we knew that the band makes the party. And as soon as we saw the demo video for Groove Authority, we knew we had found the right band. Paul was great to work with and paid attention to every detail (including last minute changes to our ceremony music), the sax and keyboardist created the ideal ambience during our cocktail hour, and the band absolutely rocked the house at our reception. We got so many compliments about the band—many of our guests said it was the best wedding band ever! And the servers at the venue said that they have never seen people dancing so much – all night long, even during dinner service! The three vocalists worked together seamlessly, and they came out to the dance floor so that people could sing along with certain songs. Paul even handed me a guitar pick so that I could pick his guitar while he played. Tremendous fun! Definitely book this band—you won’t regret it! -

WOW! Groove authority could not have been better. Hiring this fantastic band was the #1 decision that made our wedding the "highest energy wedding I have filmed" (our videographer), "the best, fastest hora I have seen" (our family and friends), and "everything we dreamed of" (the newlyweds). Really and truly, the talent, energy, and enthusiasm of these musicians elevated our wedding, gave everyone from our parents' generation the chance to dance their hearts out, AND gave us and our friends the dance party of our dreams. And this is coming from a couple renowned by our friends for our dance floor energy! Groove Authority was great to work with leading up to the wedding, was amazing with the (extremely detailed) timeline of ritual events we asked them to work with, created a beautiful rendition of the first dance song we asked them to learn, played the best darn hora we have ever heard, and played incredible, live versions of all our favorite classic wedding songs. If you choose to invest in one element to make the energy at your wedding pop, make it this band. I cannot tell you how many of our friends and family grabbed their card at the end of the night because they were so fantastic! -

Groove Authority was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!!!! We hired Groove Authority for our 30th Anniversary Awards Banquet, a major event for our organization with more than 100 attendees. I worked closely with Paul weekly for months coordinating each piece of our event. They performed the National Anthem and three sets (Cocktail Reception, Dinner Set and Dance Set). I am telling you: LOOK NO FURTHER... This band is capable of anything and everything. We will be hiring them again in the future and I will be hiring them someday for my wedding. Fantastic!!
Between signing them on and organizing the event Paul and Rick were easy to talk to and very organized. They walked me through all the nuisances of our reception day, making the announcements and guiding the groups. Their knowledge and experience were a huge asset with our venue being my parents house taking a lot of pressure from me during the planning process.
The most important part though was the day of, the band preformed excellently, winning over even the most reticent guests to dance including the groom! 10/10 talent and value, totally worth it. My family has already hired them for another event! -

I can't recommend the Groove Authority enough! For the past few weeks after our wedding, people continue to reach out and say it was the best and most fun wedding they have been to because "WOW THAT BAND!" They played the best songs, were interactive with the crowd, amazing to work with, and flexible with all our changes throughout planning during Covid. I cannot say enough amazing things about Groove Authority! Planning a wedding in a pandemic was stressful but Paul & Team were fantastic each and every step of the way. Paul was extremely organized, communicative, and thoughtful. Their emcee was nothing short of fantastic. The introductions through the encore was perfect every step of they way. Plus they got the crowd going and everyone was on the dance floor all night! They even let me and my brother perform karaoke with the band!! I cannot say enough amazing things about this group. They certainly gained a lot of future customers at our wedding so I can't wait to see them again as a guest! -

Absolutely amazing band!! These guys brought our wedding reception to a whole other level of fantastically fun :) We looked around at a fair few bands and I am sooo beyond glad we went with Groove Authority. Paul was super lovey to work with in the lead up with the band learning some new songs for us, including one for our first dance, and also editing their usual wedding playlist to only play songs we liked (from their seriously extensive catalogue) at the reception. The singers were absolutely incredible and as a band they are honestly on par with most any band I’ve ever seen live. They reduced the number in their band to fit within our budget (they have very reasonable pricing for their crazy high quality level btw) and also happily agreed to travel to Branford, CT in the middle of February. We received sooo many compliments from people at the wedding saying things like “Why did I only have a DJ at my wedding, this is so much more fun!” and everyone at our wedding was dancing the whole night through (which is no small feat given the very wide age arrange!). I have been to many weddings and always thought I’d go with a DJ like most people I know (particularly from a cost perspective) but this band was easily one of the best parts of our wedding - I’m so glad my husband convinced me! If you’re torn seriously just go for it and hire Groove Authority - they will make your wedding a night to remember not only for you but for all who attend :) Such an absolute blast and could not recommend them more!! -

We had a live band for our wedding and despite COVID we stuck with it and didn't regret it at all! They were very flexible with us during the planning process (and re-planning lol) and were spot on when it came to the wedding.
And most importantly, THEY WERE AMAZING. So many friends and family members asked us who the band was because they were so good and wanted to keep them in mind for future events. They played a wide range of music and had multiple vocalists which is the key in my opinion. Highly recommend! Paul was great to work with which is very helpful during a stressful wedding planning time. Cheers! -

Words cannot describe how amazing Grove Authority is! We had them recently play at our wedding at Waterville Valley, NH. They kept everyone on the dance floor the entire night! Not one person was sitting. Given the current state of the world I was concerned that people would not dance but our fears were wrong! Everyone commented at how talented the singers were and especially gave praise to the brass guys! We didn't make any pre requests we let the band read the crowd and their song selection was incredible! The venue even commented that they were the best band they have seen. During our booking process we were able to see the band live and went out on a limb and booked. Well let me tell you it was the best decision we made throughout our wedding planning process! Paul the band manager is a class act! He's honest, up front, professional and a joy to work with! I have absolutely no hesitation in telling everyone to book Groove Authority! -

Groove Authority is the single best decision we made during this entire wedding journey.
I was reluctant to spend the money at first but my beautiful bride said she had been told to go see these guys play before we called a dj and that decision changed everything.
Paul made us feel comfortable from our first conversation.
He is a veteran in this business and the band is overflowing with talent.
I don’t have one single complaint other than the night had to end. I was told over and over that this band is amazing and we have referred them to two guests that are getting married next year who were at the NYE wedding.

The #1 compliment at our wedding was "The BAND! How did you find them?" Groove Authority truly made our wedding. Everyone was up and out of their seats as soon as dinner ended and for the rest of the night. Groove Authority was responsive, professional, and most of all FUN. Groove Authority truly transformed a good wedding to a great wedding. From the initial phone call through the final dance Paul and the rest of Groove Authority made every effort to give us their best. We loved everything about our evening with GA. I highly recommend booking them for your wedding band or any party event; they were and continue to be one of the most complimented aspects of our weekend. Every time we see family or friends and talk about the wedding, they say how spectacular the band was.
Paul and his team are so easy and pleasant to work with. From the early stages of planning, they were extremely tuned into preferences, coordination of the day-of timing, accommodations and special requests. Paul's also very efficient and quick to reply by email or phone.
We had a few planning calls leading up to the event and Paul was so thorough in each conversation, really capturing what we wanted the night to look like - from introduction preferences to our last dance song request and everything in between that. Groove is an ideal wedding partner, often helping with thinking ahead and planning for next steps. I always felt like we had the music/dancing part of things covered with Groove and Paul leading the charge
We wanted to maximize the dancing and time on the dance floor and Groove really helped us to make that happen!
Our entire party was on the dance floor dancing before the entrees were served - one guest coined the phrase "sweating before salads!" and many others said it was the most fun dance floor they'd ever seen at a wedding.
We had such a special night and loved how customized Groove's setlist was for us and the interaction between band and guests really added to everyone's experience; we had guests from 10 years old to 86 from all parts of the country and all enjoyed the song selection and danceability of everything Groove played! There were so many special memories made on the dance-floor with family and friends; we continue to hear that Groove was THE best band our guests had ever seen at a wedding -
