We LOVE the Audubon + The Metro Cuisine Team!
We looked at a bunch of wedding venues- there are so many great options in Columbus- I am so grateful we chose the Audubon Center! It was the perfect venue for us! We worked with Cynthia from Metro Cuisine and she is truly the best! My husband and I are from Columbus but now live out of state- planning a wedding without being in the area has the potential to be overwhelming and confusing- but Cynthia made it a breeze! She is so communicative and responsive and she has incredible attention to detail. She recommended vendors for us (music, DJ, florist, photographer) and we were thrilled with their work as well! Metro cuisine catered and the food was fabulous and the catering staff was amazing! They were so attentive throughout the evening and saved us extra appetizers. The ambiance of the Audubon is so lovely- with string lights draped from the ceiling and fires going in the indoor and outdoor fireplaces- the whole building looked magical! Our guests enjoyed the convenience of having the ceremony + reception all in one location- and the surrounding areas around the building are so beautiful- it’s perfect for photography. I love that we got to enjoy a natural setting- while still having the convenience of being downtown and close to everyone’s hotels. For anyone choosing their venue, I can not recommend this beautiful space and the Metro Cuisine team (especially Cynthia!) enough.

Having our wedding the Grange Insurance Audubon Center was a dream come true & it might be the most perfect venue in Columbus! We were looking for a unique venue that mixed our love of the outdoors with the city and the Audubon delivers. There are several locations outside to have your ceremony and the space inside for the reception is truly one of a kind. It's a beautiful mix of nature, industrial elements while all being surrounded by the city skyline. We were able to rent out the entire Center (for a great price) and had it for our wedding from 3pm-1am. They have Metro Cuisine as their catering partner and honestly, I loved only having one choice for catering. Metro was AWESOME to work with and they do a fantastic job with the Audubon venue. If you are looking for a beautiful, unique venue with an awesome team definitely look into the GIAC.Having our wedding the Grange Insurance Audubon Center was a dream come true & it might be the most perfect venue in Columbus! The Grange Insurance Audubon Center was truly the perfect wedding venue. The flow from cocktail hour to dinner to dancing was all cohesive and natural. Then you throw in the skyline and the outdoor area with seating and a fireplace- simply perfection. The venue is unique which guests love, it isn't stuffy or too casual, it's a perfect happy medium. We performed our wedding ceremony on the south lawn adjacent to the bike path & it was spectacular. The two massive trees were perfectly in bloom and the birds chirped the entire ceremony, creating the perfect soundtrack. Shout out to our caterer, Bosc & Brie. If I remember correctly, they no longer service weddings at The Grange Insurance Audubon Center but if for some reason you can hire them, DO IT. The moment that I walked into the venue, I knew I wanted to have our reception there. I think that this place is a hidden gem in Columbus to have your wedding. It's a perfect mix of industrial, rustic, nature, etc. There was no other place like it that could hold our guest count so I was so glad we were able to book it! We had ours on a Friday, which wasn't our original plan but worked out perfectly! The food was amazing and bringing in your own alcohol helped save money! The staff the night of the event was AMAZING!!! They helped my mom and friends tear down and pack up everything at the end of the night (something most venue staffs will not do). My husband and I had a wonderful time and didn't have to worry about a thing. Our guests raved about the food and loved how different the venue was. And the outside and the view can't be beat! We had our wedding at this venue on 1/16/16. It was the perfect modern chic venue we were looking for. We had our ceremony, cocktail hour and reception here, and everything transitioned perfectly. We had our wedding in the middle of winter and this was a great indoor venue. It is conveniently located, the parking was free and ample, and the views are beautiful, which include views of downtown and of the nature reserve. We had our wedding at this venue on 1/16/16. Great venue
The Audubon center is just minutes from downtown is the perfect blend of modern architecture and scenic nature. If you are looking for a cheap deal through a metro park, or a "shelter house" this is not it. Metro Cuisine is the (newish) caterer, and Emily was my very helpful point person. She answered every email quickly and professionally. Metro cuisine has quarterly tastings (hosted at the Audubon center) as well as an office in Worthington with examples of their catering wares and food tastings. The audubon center itself was perfect for my wedding reception. I was able to bring my decor and alcohol in a day early and store it for my wedding day assistant and caterers to use the day of. There is a kids room that my guests used, where I put coloring pages and activities. The parents loved it. There is plenty to explore outside as well as a few seating options. And watching the skyline change from day to night was just beautiful. I easily fit 12 tables sitting 10 each at my reception, and had a pasta bar buffet. There were a few small things I didn't love: the checkered walls and the fact the carpet had a few stains, but overall I just loved my venue and would highly recommend others check it out!The Audubon center is just minutes from downtown is the perfect blend of modern architecture and scenic nature. We had our wedding at the Grange Insurance Audubon Center on June 24th. We loved that it was way cheaper on a Friday night!! We worked with Cynthia who was helpful to answer all out questions along the way.
The has an exclusive catering contract with a Bosc and Brie which didn't allow for us to consider other options- but thankfully everyone at our wedding loved the food. They did a great job being willing to accommodate any guests wth dietary needs and providing them a different meal. I didn't care though for hidden costs like up charges for high chairs way more tHan he cost of renting a normal chair.
We had a dry wedding but they allow you to bring in your own alcohol which would have been a huge cost saver! We did end up bringing in our own dessert which was great!
They do all the setup/tear down for the ceremony and reception which we loved. It was great not making our bridal party have to do that. HOWEVER there was an event the next morning so our bridal party/family did have to wait as they tore down/cleaned up everything after the reception because we were told everything had to be out that night- that we couldn't come back for it in the morning.
There is a good indoor option if it were to have rained on our wedding day which put me at ease!
Since it's a park they didn't close it off to the public until 2.5 hours before our wedding so when we showed up to take pictures there were multiple events going on in the building that we had to work around. Since our pictures were outside it was okay but we didn't have full access to the building until only 2.5 hours prior to the wedding.
All our guests loved the venue and having use of the outdoor patio with the amazing view of downtown if they wanted/needed a break from the reception.

My daughter Corey and her fiance Chad were married at Grange Audubon on November 17, 2012. The Grange's contract rep for weddings is Sarah Selhorst with Mass Appeal Dining. Because of the high quality of Mass Appeals' food and service, we ended up selecting them as our caterer too and the event at the Audubon was stunning. Corey and Chad selected their venue based on the environmental & sustainable qualities of the structure, it is in a metro park built on an old landfill converted to a wetland & bird viewing area with a great view of the city skyline. Photo opportunities on the water tower, in the wetlands, and at the venue were fantastic.
When it comes to event planning, Sarah Selhorst knows her venue and how to make it work. She created autumn splendor with an excellent flow from ceremony in a nook to cocktail hour in the lobby, and dinner with a view of the city skyline. We had many comments from guests on the great space. Furniture groupings, bistro tables along with indoor and outdoor fireplaces made it elegant, homey and fun all at once! Sarah made recommendations, handled all the rentals & decorations, & she & her staff cleaned it up & put it back in order when it was all over. Amazing!
The venue has some small things they could change. They need dimmer switches in the main hall & a full length mirror for the library which is used for the brides room. Lugging one was a pain. They need to allow for a brides room and a grooms room with the rental fee. The hours are restrictive because it is a visitor center & they don't allow set up even in the main hall until the visitor center is closed. Don't let that deter you, Sarah Selhorst and her crew worked miracles. We rented the puppet room for an hour...fabulous, the kids LOVED it. They worked off steam and parents rotated who was in the puppet room while the other adults relaxed, chatted, and danced.

We fell in love with the Audubon center the first time we visited. The scenery is lovely, and the building itself has a very cool, modern feel to it. From the time we booked it to our wedding, they did change management which I was worried about at first. Everything turned out really well in the end though. Overall, this was gorgeous! We had a perfect day (beautiful weather, sunshine, mild temperature), which only enhanced the experience. I will say, had it rained, it would have been tight inside.
What I like most about this venue is you get the whole grounds. We had games/corn hole set-up outside which were a HIT, and then there is nice lawn furniture/rocking chairs outside that guests enjoyed when taking a break from the dance floor. The dance floor opening into the dining room is cool, too. The space is very unique and open- people didn't want to leave at the end of the night! I would DEFINITELY do this for a wedding, although again, we had perfect weather and got full advantage of the grounds. It's also great if you love nature (which we do) and it's a nice change of pace from the normal venue. It was absolutely gorgeous at night with the Columbus city skyline, visible out the floor-ceiling windows in the dining room (and we were lucky enough to see fireworks at Huntington Park during the reception! Truly breathtaking!)
The ONLY drawbacks (and these are minor) is there really isn't any flexibility on getting into the venue earlier than 3pm (it's a public park and thus open to the public until then). I know this made for a very compressed schedule for the people setting up, but hey, they figured it out! Also, on the note of it being a gorgeous public park, it is open to the public and off a public trail, so there were two other wedding parties taking photos there around the park until right before our ceremony. Again, not a big deal and unavoidable, but something to keep in mind when renting a park.Overall, this was gorgeous! We loved having our wedding at the Grange! The location is absolutely beautiful and it offers so many photo opportunities. We wanted a location that could offer an outdoor ceremony and indoor reception all in the same place, so the GIAC was perfect! They are open to the public until 3 on Saturdays, which forces you to have an evening wedding but it turned out great for us. The biggest downside is that you have to go through their preferred caterer, Bosc + Brie, or you are charged a hefty extra fee. Our coordinator through Bosc + Brie, Leah, was great at first. They have a lot of supplies you can use for decorations, which would have been great if the decorations we had reserved were actually used. We spoke multiple times with Leah about the decorations and she had everything marked down on our contract, but when it came time for her to put the venue together, hardly any of the decorations we discussed were used. Looking back on this, the lack of wedding decor did not change our perfect day, but it is something to note for those brides who are very detail oriented and would get upset about something such as this.We loved having our wedding at the Grange! Looking back on this, the lack of wedding decor did not change our perfect day, but it is something to note for those brides who are very detail oriented and would get upset about something such as this. -

I had both my ceremony and reception at the Audubon Center in September 2012. It was the perfect setting for us, with beautiful outside and inside spaces that flowed easily together. We got married under the big tree on the deck and had our reception inside in the multi-purpose room. The whole facility has a laid-back feel, but could easily be made more formal and upscale with the right decor. All the planning and setup went very well and we received many compliments on how unique and cool the facility was. There was some change in staffing throughout the year while we were planning so that made things a little confusing at first to not be working with the same person throughout, but the women who ended up managing the facility and the logistics for our big day were great and very responsive to our needs and questions. We also had some concerns about maintenance in and around our ceremony area, but it ended up not being a big deal. The day was beautiful and I didn't have to worry about a thing!I had both my ceremony and reception at the Audubon Center in September 2012. We are nature-lovers, so this was an easy decision for us. We picked a weekend during peak migration and our venue costs were going to a cause we believe in, the Audubon. While they were very flexible with some requests, and willing to work with us, I'll say they had quite a bit of staff turnover in the year leading up to our wedding. I think we worked with 5 different people to get our caterer added to their approved list, and answer questions about the venue. They could work on their responsiveness abit, but when it came down to the few days before, they were nothing but professional and everything went wonderfully. We are nature-lovers, so this was an easy decision for us. This review is solely based on communication with the venue and the knowledge I learned about having a wedding there based on that. I reached out via email to learn about availability and and cost. They were initially very responsive and helpful. We went back and forth for a bit and after email #4 (where my fiancé and I requested to tour the facility), we got no response. I waited 5 days, and emailed to follow up. Still waiting for a response over 2 weeks later. It's a shame, because it seems like a great venue that is relatively inexpensive for its location. This review is solely based on communication with the venue and the knowledge I learned about having a wedding there based on that.
