July 2025 Wedding
We got married in July 2025. Our ceremony was on the West Front Porch and our reception was in the Cottage restaurant. It was an EXCELLENT experience and all our family and friends had an absolute blast.
First of all, Becca is hands-down the most helpful, organized, and efficient person I've ever worked with. As a very type-A person who was having all her family and closest friends travel very far for her wedding, it's a miracle that I was never once stressed out about the event and it's 100% because of Becca. She stayed on top of everything, answered my questions quickly and professionally, and I will be eternally grateful to her. I just can't say enough about her.
The entire event staff was wonderful. The recommended florist, St. Ignace Greenhouse and Florist, did an impeccable job and they were so wonderful smoothly moving the flowers from the ceremony to the reception. Everything looked picture-perfect.
The harpist was a dream, truly excellent and so kind. She learned the random songs I requested perfectly and played so beautifully.
The servers were fantastic and friendly. Everything was set up perfectly for each event. I cannot speak highly enough about every single staff member. I also want to mention the gardeners who made the flowers around the front porch look stunning.
Our reception/welcome party was at Gate House and it was delicious and so fun. -

We went with the Grand since we knew they could deliver a fantastic experience. They've experienced some turnover and a change in owners but in our view for the better - better management team, more accommodating, and more investment in the property. Had to delay a year due to COVID but worked with Lizzie Rupinski and everything went as smoothly as possible. As always with these things, lots of back and forth and pre work goes into it but on the day, it went flawlessly. This was an expensive venue but we really found value in the delivery and the experience - everything from the band to the wine. Had a pre wedding event at the Woods and the Fort, also owned by the hotel that were also executed perfectly. A true once in a lifetime experience. Would recommend to anyone. -

Marty Davis and her team at the Grand Hotel went above and beyond to make our wedding reception absolutely perfect! Everything exceeded our expectations. The piano player was very talented and provided the perfect compliment to our wedding luncheon. The service was outstanding and food absolutely delicious! Laurie Williams and her team at Margaret’s Garden created beautiful table arrangements, bridal bouquet, boutonnières and corsages. We can’t say enough good things about the Grand Hotel and their staff. They created a truly magical reception that our families and guests are raving about! We highly recommend the Grand Hotel and their team! -

We had our rehearsal dinner at The Gate House, owned by The Grand Hotel. They were wonderful. Guests loved the atmosphere and the food. The staff was attentive and did a great job serving all of us. Thank you! -

GRAND HOTEL IS AMAZING! The views, the ambiance, the staff, it's all beyond anything you could imagine and a true fairy tale. Marty is the bomb dot com and we absolutely adored working with her, she is super fun, easy to work with, and so knowledgeable about the island as she has been here and in her role for many years. Our guests are still talking about our wedding - I mean really, what beats a jazz trio playing "Don't Stop Believin'" as you recess down the aisle looking over Lake Huron? We somehow said "I do" and had champagne in our hands simultaneously but no one can figure out how it was finessed - that's how good the staff is. Grand Hotel is EASILY, hands down, the #1 place to get married on Mackinac Island and I would really argue the state. Book it. -

I cannot say enough about how amazing Marty Davis is! My family has been coming to the Grand Hotel for years. It is truly one of the most beautiful places there is. After my husband and I met a handful of years ago, he joined us on our annual trips and fell in love with the Grand as much as we have. When he proposed on Valentine's day we both knew immediately where we wanted to have our special day with family. We were married this past June on the front porch of the Grand Hotel. It was absolutely perfect! Having the Mackinac Bridge in the background while we exchanged vows in a private ceremony on the front porch with the sun shining couldn't have been any more amazing. I consider myself to be a very detailed person but Marty absolutely thought of everything! She is very thorough, has wonderful recommendations and goes the extra mile with every single detail. She made sure our wedding was unforgettable! Thank you Marty for everything you did and everything you do.

Awesome and wonderful
My wife and I celebrated our 25th anniversary by renting the porch and renewing our vows with family and friends. I cannot express in words the most wonderful time that it was. The porch, the ballroom, and the food and flowers were awesome. Marty Davis, the wedding coordinator was extremely helpful and kind. Everyone who attended had a most wonderful time!! -

The Stables
Our daughter's wedding rehearsal dinner was held at the Grand Hotel Stables.... yes, the Stables! What a beautiful building! Our 65 guests were treated to an amazing barbecue, beverages, and desserts -- everything was delicious and the ribs were the best we've ever eaten. The bride and groom (and many of the guests) are farriers so the location couldn't have been more perfect. Marty and staff were wonderful to work with. -

Our experience working with Marty Davis and the staff at Grand Hotel could not have been better. The responsiveness to questions and concerns was fantastic; a real stress reliever when planning such an important event. It was so easy having everything we needed under one roof. Margaret's Garden provided the most stunning bouquets and centerpieces! They had great style and vision and were so sweet to work with. The stylists at Astor Salon were fantastic and the bridal party looked gorgeous! We used the Grand Hotel musicians, as well, who are so talented and fun! We added a D.J. (Northern Entertainment Consultants; Michael Wiliford) to the mix and it really created a great balance of music for the evening. The food was so delicious, too (the cake was pumpkin for fall; everyone raved about it). The service was by far the best I have experienced at a wedding; there was not an empty wine glass to be seen! -

Marty Davis did an amazing job with our wedding! I was very needy leading up with many random e-mails of questions. Marty always responded very quickly and never made me feel like a bother. The dinner was set up exactly the way I pictured, and was beautiful! I was also pleasantly surprised at the low cost by the end of it. Thanks to Marty assisting me to stay within my budget. The service was also amazing! I would highly highly recommend. -

Our daughter was married on Mackinac Island in the Somewhere in Time gazebo this past June. We held the wedding dinner at the Grand Hotel’s Wood Restaurant. We cannot say enough about our time there! They provided a special menu for guests to choose from which was perfect. The service was impeccable, the presentation of our meals was beautiful and the food tasted as wonderful as it looked. Everyone in attendance said they would definitely go back. The bride and groom can’t stop talking about their experience there. We also really enjoyed our ride through the woods there and back. Woods Restaurant is a beautiful venue in every way. -

Our wedding at The Grand Hotel was a dream come true. We were married there 10 years ago and I still think about it all the time. We returned a few weeks ago for a 10th anniversary party and it was again, pure magic. Marty Davis and Jerry Toney and the entire Grand Hotel team go above and beyond to make sure that your day (whether it's your actual wedding or your 10th anniversary) is perfection. We have created memories that will last a lifetime and I am so thankful for that. We look forward to returning year after year to celebrate! -

Ron Sent on 10/01/2018No detail was missed when my wife and I renewed our 15 year wedding vows at Grand Hotel. The GH team, led by Marty Davis, was punctual and more than met our expectations. Our vows were to be renewed on the West Front Porch -- but with a Fall thunderstorm in the forecast -- Marty provided a number of very suitable alternative locations that allowed us to be outside and remain dry.
The guitarist, photographer and Main Dining Staff made our evening very special.
Grand Hotel is a place for a destination wedding. It's also a very romantic spot for a private vow renewal for two.
Both Laura and I highly recommend Grand Hotel. -

When my bride and I turned the corner to enter our reception in the Grand Pavilion, our jaws dropped when we witnessed just what Marty, Laurie, and all their incredibly talented staff had brought to life for us. Every last detail, from the centerpieces down to the arrangement of our special order up-lights, exceeded our wildest expectations. Everything from the staff, the food, the room, the setting, the attention to detail- everything was perfect. It surpassed all of our expectations. We had a rainy start to our wedding day, but the weather held off for the afternoon ceremony, and the porch was truly magical for us and for our guests. Marty takes care of everything before and on the big day, and does so with such a positive attitude and knows how to get it done efficiently and professionally. We both grew up going to Mackinac Island during the summers as children, and getting married at the Grand Hotel was a dream come true. Highly recommend the Grand as a wedding venue! -

Marty (the wedding planner) is incredible. She made the experience completely stress-free so we could fully enjoy our special day. Everything was perfect. I wish we could do it all over again!

They were professional, organized and flexible. The flower shop, Margaret’s Garden, worked with them hand in hand to deliver and arrange everything exactly how we had hoped! The food was phenomenal! The staff was super accommodating and polite throughout our whole experience. I HIGHLY recommend working with the Grand Hotel. They are the epitome of class.

Everything was classy and stylish. My day was happy, beautiful, the weather was beautiful, the fall colors were amazing, everything ran smoothly, on time, my flowers were stunning, the decorations were stunning, the food was timely and hot and AMAZING, my cake was stunning. Planning a wedding here was so easy because the wedding coordinator Marty Haines was sooo good! She is funny and charming and you will adore her personality and she also GETS IT DONE. I was so impressed with everything from beginning to end. A lot of brides get married and they say, "Everything was great except....." I have NO except. My day was perfect. A Grand Hotel wedding is very special, and you will feel magical on your big day at the Grand Hotel. I had numerous people come up to me and say that it was the best wedding they had ever been to. -

I live in Las Vegas, NV and planned my wedding for a year, with a help of the wedding coordinator at the hotel. The venue, the flowers, the cake, the catering, the hair and makeup...it was all done at the hotel. Everything went off without a hitch! It rained, and my coordinator was prepared, moving the reception indoors a couple hours before the ceremony. It might have been a stressful moment, but everything was handled well. The staff is most professional and attentive, but that's what you get when you go to The Grand Hotel. I would highly recommend it. Rain or shine, it's a beautiful place to get married! -

Everything was exquisite from the ceremony to the cake, the food to the flowers, and even the bridal suite and salon! Marty Davis took care of everything, and all we had to do was enjoy the day. We would make the same decision again in a heartbeat. It's not often that you look back at your wedding day and can't think of a single thing you wish would have gone better. We were blessed to have had a perfect experience with the Grand Hotel.
