Months after our wedding, people are still raving about GBS. “That band was incredible”! And boy do we AGREE! GBS had the dance floor packed the entire night! Their medleys cover all genres of music through a variety of songs which kept everyone dancing throughout the sets. During the entire planning process, John made us feel like his number one priority. Though phone calls, zoom calls, breakfast dates and gig appearances, John got to know us and learn about us. GBS not only provide the music for our reception but also the ceremony. Days before the wedding we decided we wanted to add a violin player to the ceremony, specifically for the song I was walking down the aisle to. John made it his personal mission to exhaust his contacts to make it happen. Which he did! John and GBS not only made our wedding incredible but got a bunch of Phillies fans to not only dance the Mets walk out song but helped us welcome and party with Mr. Mets! 😉 -

We had already hired (and paid for) a DJ, and then we saw a band at a wedding and realized...we needed a band. But not any band. We were extremely picky. We wanted strong vocals, a horn section, and lots of versatility. You. will. not. find. better. than. Goody. Blue. Shoes. I guarantee it. They were THE reason our wedding was awesome. The professionalism from the moment we hired them to the talent the day of, there are truly not enough words. From the pie in the sky wedding processional idea, I had to welcoming my father-in-law, a musician, to sing with them for our first dance. Truly incredible. -

Hire this Band! Guests are still raving Best Wedding Ever!
Goody Blue Shoes literally blew the roof off our wedding. Our guests are still raving about the time they had and almost the entire party of 200 ppl were on the dance floor for most of the night. They were incredible and true professionals, they took the time to get to know my husband and I months before our wedding, scheduled at least three calls up leading up to the night to talk through the process, the music we wanted, and set expectations for the progression of the night. Matt & John are an amazing team, our entire set list was tailored to what we wanted and to our style. They will also work with your venue to ensure the night is running smoothly and efficiently, while you & your guests are highly entertained. IF you considering them, I highly recommend scheduling a meeting to talk through their services. They’re fantastic and your guests will be talking about you wedding for weeks! -

STOP SEARCHING AND HIRE GOODY BLUE SHOES!! JOHN SAVED OUR WEDDING AND WE LEGITIMATELY WOULD NOT BE MARRIED WITHOUT HIM. My fiancé and I knew we wanted to hire a band for our wedding so we started looking right away. After doing our fair share of online research, we checked out about 5 bands in person. Many have showcases where you sit and they play a couple of songs, but John invited us to see them at a local venue. We instantly fell in love with how GBS so effortlessly got everyone dancing and having a great time. What makes John so great is how much he truly cares about what he does, and cares about YOU. He took time to ask questions and get to know us as a couple, beyond the usual small talk when you meet a vendor. Our original wedding date was May 23, 2020, so COVID threw a wrench in our plans. We had 2 other wedding dates before our final date of September 6, 2021, and John was able to work with us to QUICKLY let us know the band’s availability and rebook with ease. During the planning session of our big day, he could sense we were stressed and burnt out due to the impacts of COVID-19. He actually took the time to talk to us, ask us how we were doing, and GET US PUMPED about our own wedding. I will never forget that evening. We met to go over wedding plans but it felt more like hanging out with a friend. John will work directly with your venue to take off some of the burden. This is a huge relief, but even more appreciated when our friend who was to officiate tested positive for COVID-19 five days before our wedding. We found another officiant, but then the next day his apartment flooded and his car totaled when Hurricane Ida showed up. TWO DAYS before our wedding we had no one to marry us. I vaguely remembered John saying he had married a couple before, so I frantically asked if he could marry us and HE SAVED THE DAY. He was able to work directly with our friend who had already come up with the ceremony and knocked it out of the park as our wedding officiant. John also worked directly with a string quartet he recommended (Cherrywood String Ensembles – so great), to arrange for ceremony music. After MARRYING US, John led the band during our cocktail hour (so recommend you use them for this), and then rocked it all night for our reception. EVERYONE came up to us and said how great the band was. They played a bit of everything and made sure everyone was having a great time. They are fantastic musicians and great hosts. They really are worth 5x what they charged and we would hire them again in an instant. John was also really great at letting us break up the final cost into multiple payments and the deposit to book is very cheap compared to other bands. PLEASE do yourself a favor and HIRE THEM. We can honestly say that we have gained a true friend with John and we are GBS groupies for life. THANK YOU GBS! -

We cannot thank John and Goody Blue Shoes enough for what an amazing job they did on our big day!
All through the pandemic John worked with us to make sure our wedding day was every bit as special as we wanted it to be. We had to postpone in addition to switching venues, and John was just a short text or phone call away to make sure the rescheduling worked for GBS.
As for the wedding itself, unbelievable! High energy from the start and it never trailed off! Had people up and dancing the whole night, my wife and I never left the dance floor once! We couldn’t recommend them enough, nor can we thank them enough for their friendliness and determination to make our wedding truly unforgettable! We are so lucky to have been able to book them and gain some new friends in the process! -

I wish I could do it all over again with Goody Blue Shoes. From start to finish John walks you through every step of the way and you just know you’re in great hands. My husband and I had the best experience working with him, and he accommodated everything we asked. The first thing everyone said to me after the wedding, “where did you find that band?!” and it’s because they created an incredible night/atmosphere that our entire wedding will never forget. -

My wife and I decided on hiring a band for our wedding as opposed to having a DJ. We thought live music would be a great addition to really get our guests involved and get the party moving. We decided to go with Goody Blue Shoes, because the price was reasonable and John LaPalomento was such a pleasure to interact with. The band made time for us, worked around our busy schedules, and he did a fantastic job as master of ceremonies. We had one special request and that was for the band to learn crocodile rock as it is our 8 month old nephew's favorite song. John and the band were happy to oblige. We received numerous compliments from our guests on the band. You won't be disappointed if you hire them! -

I honestly thought all the outstanding reviews for John and Goody Blue Shoes might be too good to be true, but I'm happy to report, that they are 100% genuine. John is a joy to work with and the band is outstanding. John and the band incorporated everything we requested, even things I mentioned in passing and ideas I mentioned that I didn't think would be possible. The songs they learned specifically for us made the night unforgettable and John even rewrote lyrics for our father daughter dance to John Legend's Save Room. I also have to call out Marissa singing Whitney and Beyoncé and so many other powerful songs that made our wedding reception the epic dance party of my dreams. We have a running joke in our family that no has been able to top my cousin's wedding over 10 years ago, who also had an amazing band, but thanks to GBS, I am now the winner. -

Run don't walk people! If you are looking for a wedding band, Goody Blue Shoes is the ONLY way to go. I cannot begin to express in words the impact they had on not only our reception, but also the ceremony and cocktail hour. Their talents are unmatched. John LaPalomento is the epitome of professionalism, and I can say with certainty that he extends far beyond his title of MC - acting as a wedding planner and friend throughout the entire process. We love you, John, and we thank you! And let me tell you about Marissa. Whether you are religious or not, her rendition of the Ave Maria with bring you to your knees. She is a true shining star, and will change the tone of your ceremony with her vocal abilities. I could seriously go on forever, but all in all, choosing GBS as our wedding band was the best decision I have ever made... and I would choose them over and over again. Cannot wait for the vow renewal lol - let's get planning! -

I can't say enough good things about Goody Blue Shoes
Goody Blue Shoes (GBS) is THE perfect wedding band. My husband Brad and I looked at a number of bands in the Philadelphia area and none was the right fit...until I met John. I just so happened to hear GBS warming up for a gig at Doylestown Country Club. I kid you not - they played 2 chords of a song I don't happen to like (sorry John, but it goes with the story!) and I was FLOORED. I said to my MIL "I need to get their card" and they heard me whisper from the back of the room. I called John and INSTANTLY felt comfortable with him. He answered all of my probing questions, wanted to lean more about a Jewish wedding and joked with me about the crazy spelling of my last name. We talked for a while! I told my husband (then fiancé!) that we HAD to go listen to GBS play a set so we could see them live. Two notes into "You Are The Best Thing" and he was hooked. We spent the next year and a half working out all of the details from John and it wasn't just business, we became friends. The wedding was incredible and a HUGE part of that was because of John and the entire GBS crew. Our family and friends still (two months later) can't stop talking about how great they were. Our one friend remarked - your wedding was F-U-N, FUN! because of the band. He even got John's card! I am now a self-proclaimed GBS groupie and am currently trying to convince engaged friends to hire them - fingers crossed. I'd also be remiss to mention that GBS traveled from South Jersey all the way to my suburban wedding which isn't around the corner. AND they are EXTREMELY reasonably-priced for a band of their size and talent. Thanks, GBS and John for making our wedding the best day EVER!

My husband and I were married on June 2, and I still don't think I have fully processed how incredibly awesome Goody Blue Shoes was from start to finish.
When John, the band leader, tells you he is going to take care of your event, he will beat any and every expectation. John really takes the time to work with you, listen to your ideas, and guide you in the right direction. He reminds you every time that he is there to support your day and your vision. By the end of the process, expect a new friend and family member in John.
Goody Blue Shoes Party Band took care of all our music and entertainment needs throughout the entire day. We had a traditional Catholic Mass in which we had a pianist, trumpet player and a vocalist. Be warned, Marissa's rendition of the Ave Maria was so beautiful that I don't think there was a dry eye in the house... I mean church.
Then we got to the cocktail hour/reception (at the Flanders Hotel in Ocean City, NJ) and once again we were floored. Cocktail hour music consisted of the piano and violin. It was a great mix of popular and classical music. The music floated beautifully through the Flanders.
And just when we thought they couldn't outdo themselves any more, the party really got started. Intros to special dances to speeches to every other reception milestone transitioned so smoothly. The musicians are incredibly talented and so full of energy. They kept the dance floor packed all night long.
3 weeks later, and our families are still telling us how amazing the band was. Seriously, do yourself a favor and check them out at one of their appearances for yourself.
Thank you John and Goody Blue Shoes Party Band for everything! Please know you have made lifelong friends (and fans) in Jonathan and me. -
