Wonderful experience, Gohar was very professional and I felt so beautiful on my wedding day! I don't typically wear makeup so I wanted a natural look and Gohar far exceeded expectations. She was so lovely to our Jr Bridesmaid and Flower Girl in making them feel included. Highly recommend! -

Excellent experience and beautiful results
I was a bride in October 22 and hired Gohar for my bridal makeup. She came to the place where we were staying and was professional, kind, efficient, and thorough. I did not opt for a makeup trial as I was coming from out of state and was nervous, but she listened to my vision and made everything absolutely perfect. She also was very flexible in adding on some services day of that were not in the original contract. 10/10 would recommend. -

Loved working with Gohar - she was so professional and sanitary, using new temporary applicators for everyone. She got exactly the look I was going for and I felt so beautiful and taken care of. At the trial, we couldn't find the perfect purple eyeshadow she already owned - so she bought a new one for the wedding! Wow! -

Gohar is the best makeup artist in Charlottesville, if not the nation! And she's so sweet, professional, and easygoing. I found her at the recommendation of my wedding photographer, and she's since done my makeup three times. Each time, I've looked stunning. She's mastered the natural, clean, flawless look that me and my big bridal party all wanted. We were a diverse group, and everyone looked like the best version of themselves. And it all stayed put despite the rain and humidity, tears of joy, and sweat on the dance floor. She's very responsive over email, but she books up fast so be sure to snag her early! -

Gohar was one of my favorite vendors from our wedding! She did an amazing job and nailed the makeup look I was going for. I really wanted to find a natural makeup artist that could enhance my typical day-to-day makeup look. Gohar also had such an amazing energy and made me feel so calm on a day where I was filled with nerves. I was so amazed at how long my makeup lasted and how good it still looked by the end of the night! Thank you Gohar :) -

Amazing MUA!
I was lucky enough to find Gohar for my big day and I was more than thrilled with her work! I've had my make up done as a bridesmaid and the looks were always over the top and I didn't feel or look like me.
I wanted a natural look that would show my favorite features (blue eyes and freckles) and Gohar delivered! She has unbelievable talent and I was blown away for my wedding day for myself, bridesmaids, and mothers! -

Gohar did my wedding makeup along with 7 bridesmaids and my flower girl in early June. She has such a lovely, calm energy that really helped relax me on the big day -- which was huge for an anxious bride like me! Her work is beautiful, and she really listens to what you want and how you want to look on your wedding day. All of my bridesmaids loved their looks as well -- thank you, Gohar! Wish we could do it all over again. -

Gohar did my makeup for my August 22nd wedding. Originally our wedding was in April and she was very flexible when we had to switch to the new date due to covid restrictions. I did my trial and actual wedding makeup in Gohar's home studio which is bright and relaxing. The makeup was beautiful in my photos and she is very professional and polite. -

Best Decision Ever!
Booking Gohar for my wedding day was one of the best decisions I made. She was very easy to connect with in the months leading up to our wedding and I so appreciated her responsiveness. Between her calm presence and pristine skill, she was a delight to have with us as we got ready. She put my bridesmaids, mom and mother in law at ease and everyone raved about their makeup. I wish we could do it all over again! -

Gohar is WONDERFUL! Before I found Gohar, I had done a trial with another makeup artist and was unhappy with the outcome. It was 1 month before the wedding and I wasn’t able to come to VA for a trial before my wedding (I live in NY). I was SO nervous that whoever I booked next would get it wrong, too. But THANK GOD I booked Gohar! She suggested that we still do a trial the day before the wedding for my rehearsal, which was brilliant. I showed her a couple pictures of what I liked and she NAILED it. It was the perfect balance of natural and glam, and it lasted ALL night. Tears, dancing, eating, drinking, kissing and hugging were no match for Gohar’s work! The bridal party looked BEAUTIFUL as well, and everyone loved their makeup. She even made my mom CRY because she said she had never felt so beautiful in her life, but she still felt like herself. It takes someone special to do that! Gohar was a PLEASURE to work with, she was right on time (early, actually, so she could set up) and she has continued to be a pleasure since then, too! I would love the chance to work with her again, and if I were you, I wouldn’t think twice about hiring her. You’ll be glad you did!! -

Gohar did my wedding makeup PERFECTLY - she listened to what I wanted and boy did she deliver! I looked beautiful and I glowed but I still looked like me and the makeup wasn't too harsh or distracting. If I ever needed to hire a makeup artist again, I would hire Gohar in a heartbeat! I also appreciated how much care she took with all 7 of my bridesmaids - I've been in weddings when make up artists don't really care about the bridesmaids, but she is not like that at all! She is so sweet and so talented - I wish I could give her more stars! One of my bridesmaids had opted to do her own makeup but seeing how wonderful everyone's makeup was she changed her mind and Gohar squeezed her in - she is that good!! -

I looked all over the place for a make up artist. Every page I came across the bride looked beautiful but it looked nothing like them. Until I found Gohar! Gohar makes her brides look and feel beautiful by capturing their own beauty and accentuating it. My makeup looked perfect I could not have been happier with her work.
She is also so wonderful to work with. She is so sweet and calming and the best person to have by your side on you wedding day!

Amazing Artist
Gohar was absolutely amazing. She came to us the morning of the wedding and completed makeup for all of my bridemaids (6), my mom, my mother-in-law, and myself in a timely manner. She listened to each individuals requests and made me look gorgeous on such an important day. Highly recommend! -

Lindsey Sent on 10/04/2018Gohar is incredible! I’m so happy that I found her to do my bridal party’s makeup for my wedding. Gohar listened to what I wanted and made me feel gorgeous and confident on my wedding day and for my engagement photos. My makeup lasted the entire night and didn’t need to be touched up at all. I didn’t look fake or overdone; she does an excellent job at enhancing your natural features.
My bridesmaids and the two moms also loved their makeup. My mom typically does not wear much makeup and she has mentioned several times since the wedding how much she loved her makeup and how pleased she is what how it turned out in pictures. Gohar is very responsive to emails, professional, and extremely sweet! I recommend her 100%!! -

I was looking for a natural yet picture ready look and I had trials with three other makeup artists before finding Gohar. In our first trial I fell in love with her flawless work and on the day of she so lovely and was extremely fast and efficient (all seven of my bridesmaids had their makeup done plus my mom). I would highly recommend her.

Gohar is a lovely person and very easy to talk to, but ultimately it was not a good fit. We had a makeup trial that went horribly, and I was highly disappointed in the look she curated. Immediately after our trial, I went to Sephora to try and have someone help me remove and fix the makeup. My eyebrows weren't done, I had glitter from a horrible eyeshadow she used ALL over my face, and the contouring/bronzer was completely off. Nothing looked good. Within an hour I had makeup caking around my nose and nearly peeling off my face from all the layers she put on. If you need VERY light makeup, she may be great but I recommend knowing EXACTLY what you are looking for. I really had no idea since I don't wear makeup a lot, so I struggled to articulate what was wrong with it, because ALL of it looked bad. I canceled our contract and wish her the best.Gohar Makeup's reply:
I'm sorry that Gohar Makeup was not a fit for you, but I wish you had not rated my business on a simple trial - a trial I would have willingly redone to make you a happy client. The facts are that what you said about your trial is a fabrication. You wanted to make SURE your freckles showed up, so I did exactly what you wanted - if I had put as much makeup as you were claiming caused it to "cake and peel off your face from all the layers I put on" your freckles would not be visible.
Furthermore, I took photographs of the trial and have proof that the makeup is light like you asked it to be and there was nothing "off" about it - If anyone wishes to see the photos feel free to contact me at gohar.beaver@gmail.com
