best. food. ever.

When I saw the pricing I thought “there is no way this is going to be good food at this price”. W R O N G! I may be biased because it was my own wedding, but based on our guests reactions as well, I feel like I can honestly say this is some of the best wedding food I’ve ever had. We had Caesar salad, pot roast, boursin chicken, roasted carrots, and garlic chive mashed potatoes. All the meat was SO fork tender, the carrots had this amazing taste to them, think that taste you get on the outside of a burned marshmallow, that very specific taste. The carrots had a hint of that with sweet and savory, I truly can’t describe it any other way. The mashed potatoes weren’t like most wedding potatoes, stiff and gross. They were fluffy and warm and truly amazing. Like, I would go back to have a meal by Gilmore Catering. Kim was amazing to work with helping me set up the bar, providing me options for my vegan friends, helping me select appetizers for a good variety (GET. THE. VEGGIE. SPRING ROLLS. Holy crap they were SO GOOD!!!!)

Great variety and quality of food

Gilmore was absolutely professional and a pleasure to work with. We did tastings before the wedding and were advised on which foods would be best based on seasonal items for our wedding. Everything worked out perfectly, and with a plated wedding we barely noticed being served as it was all done quickly and professionally without getting in anyone's way. The food quality was excellent and tasty and we would highly recommend Gilmore for your catering needs - especially the salmon!

We can't recommend Gilmore enough. They are definitely worth every penny with their delicious food, quick responses, and professionalism. As a couple who was working with them over 3 continents we are very happy with how everything turned out!

We had our rehearsal dinner at HOME in the BOB using the Gilmore Collection. The venue was amazing and the food was absolutely delicious! Would highly recommend!

Their food was WONDERFUL! We got all sorts of compliments on how good our food was. They were efficient in cleaning up (maybe a little too efficient... they took the grooms’ food really early and he was still hungry). They were on time and ready to go by the time pictures were done!

We chose Gilmore to cater our wedding for approx. 100 people. The food was outstanding! It was everything we expected and more! They were professional on site and managed everything with a smile. We heard nothing but compliments from our guests. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a caterer.

Very professional and accommodating to our price range. Once I told them how I wanted it to go they easily served the guests with no questions on the day of the wedding! Pretty much stress free dealing with Gilmore.

Gilmore did our outdoor wedding in July 2017. We could not have been happier with everything. The staff were so incredible and made us feel such at ease. The food was great, they were flexible, and worth every penny. Our day of manager was so comforting and I didn't have to worry about a thing. Thank you so much for everything!

Gilmore catered our wedding at The Felt Mansion. The food was delicious - we received a ton of compliments! They were flexible in working with our budget so that we were able to get the food we wanted without going broke. Super responsive and easy to work with. Get the pot roast and gouda potatoes! You won't regret it.

Gilmore Catering is the best of the best in the Grand Rapids area. Kim was awesome to work with, and the food was AMAZING. I had so many people come up to me at the wedding praising the food. They were flexible, communicative, and detail oriented. I couldn't have asked for a better team.

The staff at Gilmore catering made planning our wedding easy and stress-free. The options were great and from the tasting to the reception dinner, everything was delicious. The staff was helpful and responsive. I would highly recommend Kim and her staff.

Gilmore catering helped make our day so incredibly special, our food was raved about from our guests and when they realized my husband and I didn't get to eat as much as we would have liked, they made to go boxes for us to enjoy later. Gilmore is so close to my heart now!

Everyone we worked with at Gilmore Catering was top notch and so helpful every step of the way. The actually day could not have gone smoother and we heard nothing but great things about the food and the staff. They wil always be our first choice for any event!!

Gilmore Catering did an exceptional job for our daughter's wedding at the GRPM!! We had many positive comments from guests about the wonderful food and their presentation for the appetizers, dinner and sweet table of desserts was phenomenal. Gilmore Catering made sure that all the details that were important to us were properly attended to and we couldn't have been happier with the outcome!! Truly WONDERFUL!!

We brought boxes for leftovers but never saw any. I'd imagine there was something. I'm not sure if it was just missed. But if that is the only complaint, I'm fairly lucky. Everyone raved about the food and Kim, the manager, was incredibly helpful and encouraging during what can be a stressful process.

You couldn't ask for an easier caterer to work with. We had multiple guests comment that this was the best wedding food they had ever had. They were willing to go above and beyond to help with set-up. I had several guests with special dietary requests, and they were so accommodating to ensure all of my guests were taken care of. They quickly responded to all of my communications. I can't recommend them highly enough!!!

We had our wedding reception at The EVE at the BOB with Gilmore Collection Catering. From the very first tour of the place the staff was friendly, helpful and welcoming. I am so happy we went with them. Our reception turned out beautiful. Kari was our coordinator and Kauai was our manager the night of the reception. I really cannot say enough nice things about working with both of them. The food (appetizers and main course) were fantastic, the event ran very smoothly, and my mom really appreciated the staff's help with getting everything boxed up at the end of the night. Very professional group of people to work with and I would recommend having an event at the EVE to anyone!

We're hosting our reception at The Top of the BOB, catered by the Gilmore Collection. The space is great for that downtown feel with plenty of room to not be cramped (approx. 200 guests) We were pleasantly surprised at the ample food and beverage service selections and how reasonable the pricing is. Everyone we've worked with so far has been very helpful and really quick to respond to questions. We're going for our private food tasting next month and we couldn't be more excited!

I used Gilmore Catering for my wedding in Saugatuck, MI. I was planning from Indiana and Gilmore made the planning process a breeze. Kim and Angela at the Gilmore were fantastic to work with and responded quickly to any questions I had. We had some odd requests and it did not throw them off one bit. As for the day of the wedding Charlie was on our onsite contact. He was the best thing ever! He was so professional and was prompt with how the evening went. All of my guests were raving about Charlie and the staff!

We had the added fun of planning our wedding from out of town and Alicia and Kerry were a huge help in planning our reception at the Top of the B.O.B. The venue is beautiful, amazing food (we had many, many guests tell us it was the best wedding food they had ever had!), staff that goes above and beyond (even making my plate and carrying it to my seat for me), and a great location. Alicia was our manager for the night and she was wonderful in planning and helping the night flow flawlessly. Many guests commented on how amazing the venue itself is and then the service on top of that. Our only wish is that we could have taken the left over food home since it was so good! We couldn't be happier with our decision to have the B.O.B and Gilmore Catering for our reception.

Gilmore Collection catered my daughters outdoor wedding in Holland in August 2013. From the moment we contacted Gilmore (Kim), we were guided through the process with exceptional service. Since our daughter was living in San Fran, we needed to do a lot over the phone, but were able to meet Angela at the BOB for two taste testings.

Angela did a great job making suggestions for the cocktail and dinner. Gilmore is very flexible with making changes to their menu so that you get exactly what you want.

The day of event was unbelievable, Guests were greeted with passed appetizers and wine. The appetizers were great. The dinner prep and presentation was over the top. Guests were very pleased with menu selections and that entrees were grilled on site. As great as the food was, the service was even better. I have never seen the attention to detail shown by all of the servers.

Never a moment of worry if you go with Gilmore. They are the best in the area.

The Eve room was set up just as I had imagined it would look like....but even better! I'd use this place again for the same event but I'm too happily married now to ever consider that again!!! They did a great job!Thanks!

I loved having the Gilmore Collection cater our wedding. Kim helped us with all the details prior to the wedding and Jacob was wonderful at helping us with final details and running the reception. The meals were served promptly and quickly. We had a few kids with food allergies and they were very accommodating to their needs, which their parents and I really appreciated. Everything tasted just as delicious as when we had our taste test!

We had the steaks and chickens which were great, but I if you like potatoes, I highly recommend ordering the Gouda Scalloped Potatoes. Everyone, and I mean EVERYONE raved about them for the rest of the evening.

Another suggestion would be to choose the Family Style option. It cost the same as the buffet option but goes quicker and seems fancy still :)

About a month before my wedding day, I learned that my first caterer, whom I had been struggling to get in contact with for several weeks, had backed out on our contract and would no longer be able to provide services for my ceremony. Feeling clutched and panicked, my wedding planner suggested Gilmore Catering and immediately put me in touch with Kim Lemmen who, without a doubt, not only rescued me, but went well above and beyond my expectations to make my wedding day truly special. From kids to parents to grandparents, I received many compliments on not only the outstanding dishes, but the presentation and service of Gilmore catering as well. For the entire night, I felt looked after by the Gilmore staff as they would check in with me from time to time and as I would see them along the walls, scanning the room for ways to help and assist. Without hesitation, I would recommend Gilmore Catering for any future bride. Many people said it was not only the best meal that they had had in a long time, but hands down the best wedding dishes they had ever tasted. Gilmore will make you feel good and look good--what more could a bride want!?!

The Gilmore Collection Catering and Special Events team was AMAZING! We held our ceremony and reception, both, outside at Mangiamo! in East Grand Rapids (MI) and we have only beautiful memories for that day. The landscaping was very well maintained and even for a late September wedding, there were blooms, lush grass and beautiful trees. They were always quick to respond to any questions or requests we may have had and did all that they could to accommodate us at all times. The set-up was professional and efficient, the food/drink/desserts were enjoyed by all, there was always someone there to help us out, and I would ALWAYS recommend this organization for your wedding/reception needs!

Gilmore did a great job at our wedding reception! We chose the stations package and loved it. Their staff are all so professional and friendly. They knew exactly what they were doing and everything went so smoothly. I highly recommend them!

The Gilmore Collection at the B.O.B. did a fantastic job for the value. The price points were very reasonable and they delivered on their promises. Their delivery of service for our plated dinner was flawless. It moved at a pace that was efficient and not delayed.

The quality of food & selection of options was great. They have a wide & creative variety of appetizers, salads, entrees, etc. Our attendees raved about the beautiful presentation & delicious meal. I understand it's hard to be an off premise caterer dealing with many types of challenges, but they make it look easy. We were so pleased that we selected them to be our caterer.

Gilmore Collection catered our daughter's outside wedding reception in Saugatuck, MI. Our family is mostly out of state as well as the bride and groom so we were only able to meet Kim in person one time. The rest of our correspondence was via email or phone and she was always very responsive in answering all of our questions. She was very helpful in suggesting menu items and appetizers. We also rented the bartending services from Gilmore. All of the food was grilled on site and the quality was superb! Our guests were very impressed with all the buffet items and the way the food was presented. When the guests arrived they were greeted with waiters with trays of appetizers and wine! What a classy touch especially for an outside reception. Maggie was our on site manager and she kept everything right on schedule and was very attentive to our guests. I would highly recommend the Gilmore Collection to anyone looking for a wedding caterer!

I cannot say enough good things about Gilmore Collection Catering! We used them for our May 2011 wedding reception, which was held at The Goei Center in Grand Rapids, and could not have chosen a better vendor. From the very beginning, Kim was wonderful to work with & incredibly accommodating. She was very responsive to any and all questions/concerns and we had no doubt that everything was organized & set for our wedding day. We also worked with Angela who was so helpful too! Charlie was our day-of manager and was onsite during the entire event. He checked in with us to see if we were happy with the service & he kept everything on schedule throughout dinner. WONDERFUL! They were very affordable and I cannot count the number of people who commented to us about how great the food was. Would HIGHLY recommend using them for any catering needs!

WOW! What a great catering company!! I have absolutely nothing but great things to say about Gilmore. I plan events for a living and have done many, many weddings before planning my own. Not only did Gilmore do a FABULOUS job with the food (nothing but compliments from our guests!), but they also had top-notch service. We chose to do a buffet and one of their staff actually walked through the line with me to make sure that nothing got spilled on my dress. They set aside extra hors d'ourves away from all the guests with some wine for my husband and I so that we got to have some after photos. I even had another vendor really mess something up and the Gilmore staff all stepped up and went out of their way to fix it - without me even knowing until the day after!! Seriously, amazing food, fabulous service, well worth the price tag!! Wouldn't go with anyone else. Enjoy!

My wedding reception was held at the B.O.B. in Grand Rapids and was catered by Gilmore Collection Catering. I could not imagine any catering company doing a better job than they did. The staff went above and beyond every step of the way to ensure that they provided excellent service. They never tried to "get" me with hidden fees...if anything they tried to help the event be as affordable as possible. And for the price I paid, the food and the event seemed like it could have costed double what I paid.

The Gilmore Collection catered our food at the B.O.B.~ it was great! We did buffet style, there was more then enough food and it tasted wonderful. We received many compliments on the food selection! The staff was very friendly and helpful too.

the room was gorgeous! overlooking the river!

The food--AWESOME! we did the buffet becuase it was a little cheaper, and we had the chicken kiev, carved beef, and i think green beens and potatoes and fiesta corn. everyone says it was the best food they've had at a wedding!

The lady we worked with was amazing and very professional and experienced. overall it was a wonderful experience and it was beautiful!!

HIGHLY recommended.

Excellent food! One guest commented that the food could have been from a California wedding (she's from CA) which is an excellent compliment. Also, very professional, courteous, polite servers willing to bend over backwards. Amazing experience. Ask for Charlie as your manager - you won't regret it!

Gilmore Group was great to work with overall. The food was amazing- we had lots of people comment on how it was the best wedding food they had ever had. We did a buffet and there was plenty of food for all. We added an extra side dish but this probably wasn't necessary. Charlie was our day-of coordinator and he was very friendly and re-assuring when things were being set up.

My only concern was during the planning process the menu they kept sending me listed the wrong main dish (even though we had changed it months ago). I am glad that I caught the error because even up until the final menu, the error was still there. Also the jumbo shrimp appetizer was definitely not a jumbo shrimp. Other than that, everything else was perfect. Would use them again without hesitation.

Gilmore Catering has great food! Everyone at my wedding was so impressed with the dinner we had. It was really good and the buffet lines looked great! They were on time and made everything come together. Their table service was great and they did a great job!

Our Wedding Guests Raved – Gilmore Delivered Excellent Meals and Great Service

We only have positive things to say about Gilmore Catering and the service they provided at our wedding, for both cocktail hour and our plated dinner service. With planning, the team was organized, provided clear direction and were attentive to details. Our guests were quick to mention how delicious their meals were, which is a high compliment to Gilmore Catering since many of our guests live in large metropolitan cities and have quite sophisticated palettes. Gilmore also impressed me with how proactive and attentive they were to dietary needs (e.g. gluten, dairy, food dyes), which were handled with ease and guests were able to enjoy the evening as a result. Highly recommend!

We just booked this venue a couple of weeks ago. They were very helpful in finding us a date when the one we were looking at was booked before we were ready to commit (took us a month to visit the venue since when we first contacted them). They let us know right away when another event cancelled and now our wedding will only be a week after the original date we wanted. We are looking forward to working with Baker Lofts to plan our wedding day.

The Gilmore Collection provided excellent service throughout the planning process for our wedding day. We had one tasting for the food, which was well organized and easy. One of the catering managers was very responsive over email and helped answer all of my questions in a timely manner. On the day of, I was a little disappointed with the fingerling potatoes which were supposed to be in a sauce, but everything else was delicious! (Carving station with beef, chicken, broccoli and green beans). The Event Manager for the evening was very professional, checked on my husband and I to make sure we had everything we needed, and made sure all the guests made it to the buffet without a long wait. Great service and delicious food!

We booked EVE on the Fourth Floor of the B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids for our June, 2011 wedding reception. We loved our experience, as did everyone who attended our wedding! Kim and Angela in the office were easy to work with, very accommodating, and professional. We had always dreamed of having a wedding reception at the B.O.B., but what made it possible was the surprisingly affordable price! On a limited budget, my bride and I researched almost every reception venue in Grand Rapids and were thrilled to discover how reasonable the B.O.B. and Gilmore Collection's prices were for such a unique, desirable and classy venue in Grand Rapids.

Charlie, our banquet captain, really knows how to make events run without a hitch and did a great job managing our reception and making sure we were enjoying our reception. The serving staff was courteous and friendly. Our food was absolutely delicious... definitely not your average wedding reception food!

Our only complaints are very minor: one of the reasons we picked EVE for our reception was because we loved the dance floor and the legit overhead dance floor lighting system. We were able to preview the lighting months before the wedding. Unfortunately the lights were able to be used at our reception. When we asked, we found out that the bulbs had not been replaced, making the system temporarily unusable. While this was a minor glitch in an otherwise stellar reception, we wished we would have been told in advance of the lack of special lighting availability.

We had our wedding reception at The B.O.B. on the third floor. The venue was a great location and a was the perfect space for a wedding. I was so confident that I saw the room for the first time 3 months after booking the room! The food was amazing and was a step above the typical wedding food. We did a buffet and it took less that 20 minutes for 175+ people to get their meal. The staff, especially the on site manager Jacob, were amazing. They made sure we were kept updated throughout the whole night. The only issue we had was being able to contact them before the wedding. Whenever we called, no one would answer, but we always got a call back at a later time. The B.O.B. requires you to use their DJ or you will be charged extra, but we would recommend using their DJ. The DJ was amazing and worked with us to have an amazing wedding. We met with him before hand and he made sure we kept to the schedule and played a great mix of songs to make sure the dance floor was kept full all night.

Baker Lofts catered our wedding at Windmill Island. They provided a great sirloin and salmon. Their prices are well worth the quality of the food.
I recommend buying your own wine because the cork fee is only $5.
Our contact answered emailed quickly.
Since I cater weddings myself, I was aware of some small unprofessionalism the day of, but I am very critical being in the business.

The food was absolutely wonderful and they were willing to customize the combo-plated meal to fit our wishes and tastes.

There were only some minor cons that don't outweigh the pros. The napkins weren't folded how I had requested, there were fewer candles per table than I had wanted (but it looked just as fabulous) and the serving of the food for 165 people went slower than I had thought it would. The first tables that were served were finished eating before the last tables were even served. I got a couple comments that their food wasn't as hot as well.

The food was awesome and many of our guests commented on how great it was. However, the contract for the food had a minimum food cost that we had to spend, but was very unclear as to what was included in that food cost. It wasn't until two days before our reception that we found out some things that we had been told were included initially before we booked Gilmore, actually were not included and we ended up paying a lot more than we had planned on. The food was good, but the contract is very misleading and had we known that upfront, we would have chosen a different catering company.

Gilmore Collection provided our food for cocktail hour and reception dinner. The food was alright at the reception and I never got to taste the appetizers, so I can't really comment on that very much. The food tasted better at the tasting we went to back in November. The pork we ordered was a little on the dry side, but all my guests kept commenting on how great the food was. They were on time with everything and very easy to work with though, so I would not hesitate in recommending them for anyone's wedding.

We used EVE at the BOB for our reception. Great space, but opens to public at 11pm. Staff was amazing and the venue was perfect but we ha a few hiccups with the good before the event. We wanted to use the Quinceanera menu for our wedding (Mexican food) but our TWO tastings both were horrible. We had to ask to speak directly to the chef and ended up coming up with a better menu for us. The chef was flexible and great but I do not recommend that menu as is. We had taco stations but switched out both chicken and beef options for recipes that are not on the menu- shredded carne asada and shredded chicken. In the end, the food was AMAZING and all if our guests raced about how incredible it was! So all in all, a great experience, but I recommend tasting and changing the menu.

Overall a great vendor. Charlie, our manager for the night blew me away. Any doubts or concerns I had disappeared when I met him. Food was pretty decent and the prices were comparable to all other caterers. Would definitely recommend!

I used the Gilmore Collection for both my rehearsal dinner and my day after brunch.

I highly recommend working with The B.O.B. for your event! They were AMAZING!! The space was perfect (The Eve Room) for a brunch and the food was exceptional. The service was great and it was so relaxing!

On the other hand...

I worked with Mangiamo! (The old Gibbsons) for the rehersal and it was not as 'easy' the food was not as good, and the cost was not as great.

If I had to do it over again I would just do it all right at the BOB!

The setting is beautiful and a good blend of elegance and industrialism. There were some difficulties with communication due to email problems. We were able to get in the day before to set up thanks to there not being another event the day before. Unfortunately some of our decorations were thrown out- so make sure you let them know what you plan on keeping.

We had a great reception at The Baker Lofts! All of our guests had an excellent time! The food was great (and we got many compliments), drinks were made rather strongly (so be careful with that regarding liquor charges), but the atmosphere is awesome... old brick building (in great shape), high ceilings, exposed duct work, etc. Overall an awesome time, I would recomend them to anyone!

We recieved many compliments on the food. The food is the only "5 star" I can give.
Our linen service and florist "made" the room.
I was not entirely pleased with the time it took to have a phone call returned or a question answered. Supper was not served in a timely manner. It seemed they decided to add a second serving line at the last minute. Servers removed the dishes from the table so quickly, many people complained about having the cups and plates removed before they finished eating and drinking. My cake and Champagne disappeared. The bar tender shut off the lights and walked away with out announcing last call. We had to track him down in the back room. They need improvement.

We had our reception at Bridgewater Place. The venue is BEAUTIFUL and right along the river. Food was wonderful as well. The only issue we had is that they told us they would let us know when we got low on beer and wine, before opening up more than what we initally decided on. The bar closed at 11:30pm, and at 11:15pm they tapped the 2nd keg without even asking! Some of the alcohol was also very pricey. Overall however, we were pretty happy with everything else.

While an inexpensive room fee - DO NOT BE FOOLED!! The B.O.B. Venue, it's staff, quality of our event, professionalism offered to our guests and overall experience for our wedding reception was a complete nightmare. Nothing was executed as planned and no responsibility taken whatsoever for all the mistakes, theft, and mess they made of our big day. Far better options out there, so please do not make the same mistake we did. We regret using them 100%.
