Franklin Plaza is without a doubt the BEST venue for any kind of event. From the minute you first meet with Michael, you instantly feel like someone has your back, has a genuine interest in what you are looking for and knows the business better than anyone! Michael, Sophia, Michaelangelo and Joe want to see your vision come to life and will help you execute. I do not think that our wedding day could have been any more spectacular than it was. The ambiance, the service, the food, the bar staff, the coat-check woman (she even fluffed my dress for me!), the door man….everything thoroughly exceeded our expectations. Every single guest that I spoke to said that the food was unlike any other wedding or event they have every attended, and the biggest stand out it was all served HOT and FRESH.

Joe was our point person, and he was incredibly communicative, accommodating, and on the ball with everything from day one to ensure our special day matched our vision and that all ran smoothly. The day couldn’t have been more perfect: the venue was enchantingly beautiful, the food at cocktail hour and dinner was scrumptious, our signature drinks were made to a T, and the staff were all attentive — to us and our guests.
Michelangelo and Thomas continually checked in throughout the night to make sure my finance and I were well taken care of. We received endless compliments about choosing such a wonderful venue. We had our wedding at Franklin Plaza on August 30th, and we could not be happier with our experience! From start to finish, everything was absolutely perfect. The staff was incredibly attentive, ensuring every detail was executed flawlessly. They went above and beyond to accommodate all our needs and made us feel special throughout the entire process.
The venue itself is stunning, with its elegant ballroom and breathtaking rooftop views, providing the perfect backdrop for our ceremony, reception, and after party. Our guests are still raving about the food – everything was delicious, beautifully presented, and exceeded our expectations. Franklin Plaza made the planning process easy and stress-free, and their level of professionalism and expertise was evident at every turn.

Words can't even express the level of professionalism and exceptional service that Franklin provides. Nobody does it like them, and between each gorgeous room, the sheer volume of delicious food and even just being able to use their in house decor...I didn't have to worry for one second on my big day if everything was handled. Dream Wedding
From the moment we stepped into the ballroom, we knew the Franklin Plaza was the place for us! Our guests have been telling us it was one of the best weddings they've ever been to, and it's all thanks to the amazing team here! We worked primarily with Joe on the planning and Michelangelo as our head waiter, and everyone on the team was fabulous to work with. The food was absolutely out of this world! The cocktail hour alone is a feast, and the main entrees felt like we were being served at a five star restaurant. A lot of the venues in the area will only give you a few passed appetizers of clearly mass-produced food; that is not the case here!! We must have had at least 10 passed appetizers that were delicious & unique, plus the hot plates and cheese station, beautiful salads, delicious rolls, incredible entrees, AND a late night pizza station - all part of the standard package! We never felt like we were being nickled and dimed along the way.
On top of the food, the venue is simply stunning. Every room is gorgeous. At some venues you need to fight for a table at cocktail hour to set your drink down, but FP has the room set up with tons of tables, sofas, high tops, it was perfect! They take care of everything, ran with every idea we had, and took amazing care of all of our guests. They even brought all of our remaining decor directly back to our hotel suite at the end of the night. We can't say enough amazing things about the whole team at the Franklin Plaza. They know their stuff, they're very professional, and they will make your dream wedding a reality. Incredible!

The most beautiful wedding venue!
Franklin plaza made this SUCH a memorable day for us. We are still receiving messages from friends and family about how incredible everything was. From start to finish, every little detail was covered (food, service, decor, etc) and there was never a moment of doubt or concern about anything.
We have seen firsthand what can go wrong on peoples wedding day and feel so fortunate that we experienced none of it! Delicious food and BEAUTIFUL venue
The decor and the entire set up of the Plaza is breath taking during the holiday season! Gorgeous cocktail hour and ceremony location. The food was incredible! The cocktail hour is a feast in itself. I would highly recommend the pork! The staff at Franklin Plaza were so helpful and made our day one we will never forget! I highly recommend this venue for your special day, especially around Christmas time!

The most perfect venue
I could not pick a more perfect or convenient place to get married. They helped us every step of the way and were so amazing to work with. From the owners, to the servers and doorman, every single person there is so nice and accommodating. Not only us, but every single guest after raved about the venue and their staff. Plus we could have the ceremony, cocktail hour, reception, after party all in one building, plus walk across the street to the beautiful updated hotel. Everything was so convenient and they made the day stress free (which says everything). The food is outstanding and the cocktail hour will blow your guests away. I can't thank Mike and the staff there enough for truly bringing our dream wedding to life. If you have any doubts, go there, see it in person, and talk to Mike and you will fall in love with Franklin Plaza instantly.

You need to get married here
My husband and I would get married here a million times if we could. It was so amazing from the planning process to the actual day. Greg and his team were more hospitable and accommodating then I could ever imagine possible. We felt so at ease during the planning process and during the wedding weekend because the Franklin Plaza staff truly takes care of everything for you. We had our ceremony, reception, and after party all at FP and it was so convenient for guests (there's a hotel directly across the street as well, so no shuttles needed). It is truly a one-stop-shop!! Your special day will be even more amazing with all that FP has to offer.

Where to start… Michael Fusco and his team at Franklin Plaza made wedding planning a breeze. They have everything down to a science and their staff is the absolute BEST in the business. Michael guided us with his expert advice, guided us through the ever-changing protocols of COVID, and was an absolute pleasure to work with. The venue is absolutely gorgeous. From the intimate dining room to the incredible rooftop bar. Franklin Plaza takes care of EVERYTHING. The week of the wedding, I dropped off EXTRA décor, our favors, cake stand, toasting glasses, etc. They took care of all the set-up and it looked stunning. Their menu gave us a variety of options to choose from, and each and everything on that menu is DELICIOUS. The staff is always kind and want to make sure everyone is happy and taken care of. Which brings us to our Maitre’d and Head Waiter. By the end of the night, we felt like they were part of our friends and family. They made sure we were taken care of all night long including making sure our drinks were always full and make sure we were able to taste everything we wanted to on the menu. We highly recommend Franklin Plaza to all our family and friends! They are worth every penny and MORE! Thank you Michael and the whole Franklin Plaza staff! Looking forward to go back soon!

THE event space to book!
We held our wedding ceremony and reception at the Franklin Plaza in January 2021 and we could not be any happier and pleased with our experience.
Michael worked hand-in-hand with us throughout our entire engagement--from our initial walkthrough, to planning during the pandemic, and finally being there on our big day. Incredibly knowledgeable and accommodating, he and the Franklin Plaza team made sure our day was extra special and went flawlessly. We couldn’t be more thankful for Michael’s guidance and knowledge throughout the process.
Greg was our ceremony coordinator and really knocked it out of the park for us. His knowledge and direction during the rehearsal and ceremony further showcased his and Franklin Plaza’s professional and industry experience and really helped smooth any uncertainties for the next day. The ceremony of course went off without a hitch (well, except for us getting hitched)!
The main ballroom is on the first floor and is large, well adorned with ornate architecture, and absolutely stunning. Our ceremony and lavish cocktail hour were held on the second floor--accessible by elevator or stairs. The recent renovations done to this space are expansive and gorgeous, including the new hand-blown chandeliers. The room has LED lighting so it’s very easy to customize and match to your theme! While we didn’t utilize the third floor space for our event, it is also beautiful and worthy of mention. We did take some photos out on the terrace however and they came out great.
Franklin Plaza exceeded our expectations in their expertise and execution. The food (get the short ribs--you’ll love them), staff, and venue are amazing and a great value. We can’t wait to visit them again, they’ll have all of our recommendations!

Perfect day in an imperfect year
We chose to move forward with our wedding with the Franklin Plaza with a much smaller guest list than originally planned. Michael helped us update the contract without any hiccups and the day still went forward as smooth as could be. We used the third floor and rooftop and they let us bring in our own yard games so people could have fun without the typical wedding dancing! The staff was extremely covid conscious and all of the guests were comfortable. The food was superb, from the appetizers to the late night fry station!
My husband and I were taken care of by Kane all night who was willing to go to the moon and back to make sure that the day went well, and he absolutely did. We would recommend the Franklin Plaza family to anyone - as a client and as a guest. They are a gem of Troy and the Capital Region and everyone should experience their professionalism and amazing food at least once!

Best wedding and best service in the capital district
Franklin Plaza is the best place to get married in the Capital District, no questions asked!! The food, space, service, and location is beyond exquisite. Michael, the owner, is extremely attentive, he listens to your vision and truly makes it all come true, and then some! My sister was married here 6 years ago and I loved it so much my husband and I were drawn back! Michael is absolutely a pleasure to work with. We were lucky to have him attend our reception and he ensured it went flawlessly.
Our head waiter, Kane is also someone to be recognized. He was able to move swiftly with us throughout the night, meaning he was there at every turn but at the absolute right moments. Kane was never overbearing or pushy!! He mingled with guests and made our night memorable!
To speak to the year of planning, I had the pleasure of working with Deanna. Deanna was always quick with her responses and flexible with my busy schedule. When I would panic over forgetting x, y, & z, Deanna ensured me that all was well and my crisis was avoided. Franklin Plaza is the place to be married!

Amazing experience!
I got married at the Franklin Plaza on October 6, 2019. From the beginning, Joe, Deanna and Greg were amazing to work with. Joe and Deanna were helpful throughout the planning process and Greg was spectacular during the day of coordination. The Franklin Plaza really took care of us and made our day super special and memorable. Our guests were talking for weeks after the wedding about how delicious the food was, how beautiful the space and decorations were and how the wedding was so organized and went off without a hitch. A dream venue!
Franklin Plaza was a dream come true! From our planning with Joe to the day of staff, we couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding! The only way to describe our experience with Franklin Plaza is perfect. Every aspect and detail exceeded all of our expectations. Every floor of the venue is beautiful and unique. The staff is equally as impressive. From our first meeting with Joe to the end of our big day, Franklin Plaza made every step easy and enjoyable. Joe went out of his way to answer any and all questions and provide recommendations when asked. We couldn't have asked for a better experience planning with him. The day of our wedding we met with Greg and Kane who made it their top priority to meet not only all of our needs but all of the needs of our bridal party and family. It was truly incredible. Memorable and beautiful wedding venue!
We had our wedding ceremony and reception at Franklin Plaza, and it was the best decision we made, because everything was absolutely perfect. First off, the venue itself is beautiful. It’s so grand that it creates an amazing backdrop for photos. The weather didn’t cooperate for us to be able to take outdoor photos, but we were able to take such unique bride and groom photos inside since the building is so unique and elegant. On top of that, our ceremony and reception photos are enhanced simply by the beautiful lighting, high ceilings, and wall designs of Franklin Plaza.
While the aesthetic of the venue is enough to sell itself, the service provided by every single individual there puts it over the top. From our first contact with Deanna who answered dozens of emails and questions throughout the year, to Michael who ensured that every detail was covered and our day would be perfect, to our head waiter Kane who was right there any time we needed anything on our wedding day (including bringing all of our belongings back to the hotel for us while our reception was winding down), to all of the wait staff...the service at Franklin Plaza is second to none. They are so detail oriented and they made sure that everything was taken care of so we didn’t need to worry about a thing on our wedding day. I also need to mention that the food was phenomenal. From the amazing cocktail hour all the way to the delicious dessert, we, along with our guests, were so impressed.
Our wedding day was the best day of our lives and Franklin Plaza and its staff were a huge part of that. We would 100% recommend Franklin Plaza to anyone looking to book a memorable and beautiful wedding venue!

My husband and I can not say enough amazing things about Franklin Plaza. The whole process with them was just extremely easy. Booking and planning my wedding was extremely stress free with the help of Joe at the Franklin Plaza. There is no need to hire a wedding planner because Joe is that for you. Franklin Plaza was extremely accommodating with certain things my husband and I wanted at our wedding. Now fast forward to the day of the wedding. Between Joe, Kane and Greg we had an unbelievable day. The service and food at Franklin Plaza is amazing. We still have guest talking about how amazing our wedding was. The party didn’t stop after the reception we booked the after party for 2 more hours on the 3rd floor/roof and that blew our guest away. If you haven’t booked a wedding venue you need to go take a tour at Franklin Plaza, you will have zero regrets if you book with them!

I am so glad we chose to have our wedding at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom. We worked mostly with Greg, but Joe and Deanna were also extremely helpful. They were so accomidating and helpful and I could not be happier. The food was amazing, and everyone who attended my wedding can not stop talking about how impressed they were with the selection. The plated dinners came out hot as promised and everyone received their meal very quickly. We had such an amazing time and they took care of every detail. Greg even brought my husband and I a plate of one the passed hors d'oeuvres that we had missed during cocktail hour. Dave, the bridal attendant was so fabulous and attentive. I just can't say enough good things about this venue everyone was so amazing and I could not have imagined a more perfect day.

Franklin Plaza Ballroom was absolutely beautiful for my wedding. I would suggest everyone to have an elegant wedding there. The service was amazing,and with them working so close with the hotel made things so much easier, as the staff brought all of my items from the balloon to my bridal suite. The complimentary breakfast was huge and delicious. I worked close with Joe on alit of decisions and my other contact Deanna was always a great help. She was quick to get back to me with random questions that i asked ahout multiple times. Our wedding could not have been more perfect and we owe so much to everyone at the Franklin Plaza for making everything run so smoothly. The food was incredible, the ballroom was stunning and the service from each and every employee was incredible.

I don't even know where to begin. Mike and I were beyond amazed at the quality of service and food, as well as the ease of planning and their helpfulness throughout the entire process. Every single person we dealt with, from Joe during the planning process to Greg and Andrew during the reception answered all our questions and concerns and bent over backwards for us. It felt like Andrew could read our minds on the wedding day. Franklin Plaza made us feel like royalty. It was an amazing night!

We had our wedding here and I can't even begin to explain how happy my husband, myself, and our families are with our experience. Our reception and after party was phenomenal and flawless in every way. Food was delicious, service was extraordinary, decor/ambiance was over the top. We had our wedding and ceremony at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom in September, and our day could not have been more perfect! The venue is gorgeous, the food plentiful and delicious, and the service impeccable. We worked with Joe, and it is safe to say that he has wedding planning down to a science. You wouldn’t believe all the different options that are available, and they want nothing more than to give you the wedding you always envisioned. The night of the wedding the entire staff was exceptional, and our bridal party and guests could not stop raving about the service. The Franklin Plaza Ballroom went above and beyond to give us the wedding of our dreams, and we will never be able to thank them enough!

The Franklin Plaza is the most amazing wedding venue! The building is beautiful inside and out and everyone who works there is fantastic! During our planning process we worked with Joe and Deanna and they were always so helpful and quick to respond when I had questions. Joe is so knowledgeable about weddings and gave us many tips/ideas that we would have otherwise not considered; we really appreciated it!!! On our wedding day, Greg and Dominic were there for us for whatever we needed. They were so friendly and took such good care of us.
The Franklin Plaza and their staff gave my husband and myself, along with our families, amazing service which they are all still raving about! The food and desserts were outstanding.
I would recommend the Franklin Plaza Ballroom to anyone. They helped turn our dream wedding into a reality.

I cannot express in words how amazing the franklin plaza was for our special night! The food wa absolutely phenomenal, the room was decorated beautifully. I don't even know where to start. We couldn't have asked for a better venue for our wedding. The location is absolutely gorgeous, the food is out of this world, and the service is unbeatable. If you want to be treated like royalty all night and not have to a worry about a thing, this is your venue. I can't think Joe & his staff enough for such a remarkable night. We had Dave to assist us all night and he was so good to us! Anytime we needed something we could count on him. Our guests had nothing but compliments all night! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars! You won't go wrong choosing Franklin Plaza!

We had our reception at Franklin Plaza. From our first meeting, Joe made us feel like family. He was OVERLY accommodating on EVERY of our MANY requests! Nothing was a problem, a big deal, or an extra charge. The day of the wedding, we were all met at the curb by the the head waiter and maitre d' who both worked tirelessly to make sure that everyone in the bridal party, including our parents, knew what was going on at all times and were well taken care of all night. We were waited on hand and foot like kings and queens. The service for our entire evening was impeccable, the decor was amazing and everything ran seamlessly like clockwork. They are a truly professional bunch at Franklin Plaza and I can not say enough nice things about how pleased we are with the way our day came together. I would highly recommend Joe and Franklin Plaza to anyone looking for a beautiful venue in the area!

Held wedding ceremony and reception here. Amazing service from the planning to the end of the wedding reception. Very easy to work with, very professional and made me feel like I was investing my money into a business that was invested in me and making my wedding day perfect. Food was amazing from cocktail hour to dessert. They fed a dining room of 220 people in 12 minutes!

My husband and I have been told over and over since our wedding that it was the best wedding most of our guests have EVER been to. What a compliment! We owe a huge thank you to the Franklin Plaza Ballroom for that. They go above and beyond in every aspect of your wedding day from service to food, staff to decor & uplighting... everything is top notch. It was the most beautiful venue I've ever seen and they did it all! There is simply no other venue like the Franklin Plaza in the area. The word that best describes Franklin Plaza, its management and staff is AMAZING!! They truly gave us the wedding experience that most people dream of for an unbelievably great price! Every meeting with Joe was upbeat and at the beginning we had planned on the ceremony being at a church and when that fell through, he promised us that we would not be sorry having the ceremony and reception at the Franklin. He was soo right!! Joe is the perfect representative for Franklin Plaza. After meeting him, you will feel the same way! Our wedding flowed seamlessly. The staff was wonderful and professional. My favorite part was watching them all come out with dinner at the same time and branch off to each table so everyone got their dinner at the same time. I had guests telling me that they had never been to a wedding where they were actually asked if they would like "seconds" after they finished their meals. The food was delicious, the building had all the character and charm that I wanted, and the staff was awesome. It was truly an amazing experience and I know that my husband and I are so grateful for the wedding that we had at Franklin Plaza.

We got married at the Franklin Plaza in July 2014 and could not be happier with our choice! We had our ceremony and reception there and everything from start to finish was absolutely perfect! It is a gorgeous place with the most amazing food! Our family and friends continue to talk about how wonderful everything was and how much they enjoyed our wedding. The staff couldn't have been better. Domenick was our head waiter and he was amazing! He was by our side filling our drinks and getting us whatever we needed the entire night. The minute I said my feet hurt he came back with a pair of flip flops in my size. When I forgot something in my hotel room he ran right over and got it. It was the best service I have ever had! I wish I could go to another wedding there so I could enjoy the atmosphere and food all over again! I highly recommend this venue if you are looking for a classy, vintage setting with the best cocktail and dinner food I have ever had at a wedding! You will love everything about it!

we just got married last night and I honestly couldn't have asked for a better time. The Franklin Plaza is breathtaking, we received so many compliments on our venue. Joe and his staff (Dominic took care of us all night) were amazing. My 3 year old was calling Dominic his friend by the end of the night :) I never thought that I could really "relax" at my own wedding and not worry about a thing, but I can honestly say that is exactly what I did last night- I took in every moment and I could do that because it was at the Franklin Plaza. Best wedding venue in the area, hands down. I planned my wedding from DC and picked Franklin Plaza for three reasons: 1. It's gorgeous, 2. They are so professional and know exactly what they're doing. It is a well-oiled machine. And 3. Reviews like this. Reviews are huge, and I relied on them a lot planning my wedding long distance. I can tell you that FP lived up to all the reviews and then some. By the time I got to the week before the wedding and I was delivering all my placecards, etc. I was a complete nervous wreck with the planning and the staff put me at ease. When I booked the venue, they called the hotel across the street (same management) and automatically put rooms aside for me in a room block. They handled everything perfectly and all our guests kept commenting on how lovely a time they had, how they were so happy to be at a wedding where you can actually get a drink because the bars were fully staffed, and the food was amazing, and there was a ton of it. My husband and I had our own personal staff member who attended to our every need and even made sure we ate our dinner. I can't say enough good things. This place is the best kept secret in the Capital Region.

Franklin Plaza was exactly the venue my new husband and I were looking for when it came to picking a reception hall. We wanted a classic, elegant, timeless feel for our wedding and the Plaza was exactly that!
The staff went above and beyond to make our day special. We felt like royalty the entire evening. Our guests loved the cocktail hour, sit down dinner, and bar. We did not have one complaint from any of them!
We are very happy we chose the Franklin Plaza for our venue and would recommend them to everyone!

Numerous guests commented that is was the nicest wedding and reception that they had ever been to and they also noticed how the staff took care of every detail. Not only was it beautiful, with great service, but they were also the most reasonably priced of all the venues we looked at. You absolutely get your money's worth and SO MUCH more. Pictures on their website did not even compare to the absolutely gorgeous ceremony & reception that was were provided! It was beyond our expectations! Everything was absolutely perfect! From the way everything looked, to the food, to the incredible service, this is the best venue in the Capital District! They are very flexible & extremely accommodating! And we cannot say enough how incredible their service is! The staff working the event was outstanding (Dom is THE man!), as were the people involved with our planning, Joe, Greg, & Deanna!! From top to bottom, everyone was amazing & we couldn't have asked for more!

OMG I cannot say enough good things about Franklin Plaza. The amount of food served is overwhelming, you wont ever have to wonder if you got to try all of the passed appetizers. There were so many people serving and making things run so perfectly. Joe really did a great job with the planning. We had Dom as our head minion, he was awesome. If i wanted a drink or food, he was gone and back in seconds with it!... They even went and got someone in the wedding party tampons! The night could not have gone any better. It was amazing, and i would recommend Franklin Plaza Ballroom to anyone. It may look like its a very expensive place, but compared with the surrounding venues, its really on the lower end of price, and it isnt compromised in the service, food, or venue itself. They put on a great showing. We had many guests say it was the best wedding EVER!

In addition to the quality of ALL aspects of the reception what really impressed me was how they still individualized my daughters wedding to make it reflect her and her husbands style.
Make an appointment to go , see , talk to Joe . Very well worth it ! Instead of pre wedding stress we had pre wedding fun while planning such an important day for us and our guests.

My husband and I are so happy with our decision to choose Franklin Plaza for our ceremony and reception. We had looked at most of the popular venues in the area before visiting Franklin Plaza. From the minute we both walked in we knew this was the place for us. It has such a unique set-up and is definitely not the typical ballroom reception hall. The price is also much better than many of the other venues in the area, especially given the amount that is included in the price.
During the planning process Joe was great to work with. He was consistently suggesting ways to help us save money and was always willing to offer his opinion on what has and hasn't worked for brides in the past. He also helped us select a great menu given his experience.
Before our wedding day we had heard a lot of positive things from others about the venue and based on our experience leading up to the wedding we knew it was going to be great. However, even given our expectations we were absolutely blown away by the service and quality of everything that day. From the minute we walked in the door before our ceremony all the staff at Franklin Plaza made sure we were taken care of. The GM for the night, Dom and our head waiter Ben treated us like royalty all night. Constantly checking in with us to make sure everything was going well and checking to see if we needed anything.
Our guests are still saying how great the food was and commenting on the quantity of food. We also had many guests comment on how well run the whole event saying not one detail was missed.
We would definitely recommend Franklin Plaza to anyone looking for a wedding venue!!

The Franklin Plaza ballroom first off is beautiful! Secondly they make wedding planning a breeze, they do everything! So many of my guests either the night of or since have told me it was the best wedding they have ever been to, the food is absolutely amazing and abundant if you leave a wedding at the Franklin plaza hungry it's your own fault. From 1 1/2 cocktails with so much food to dinner dessert and then a finale in the last hour they feed you all over again-we did a slider station with root beer. I can not say enough great things about the plaza! The quality is very high end and the price is very reasonable and they give you such great tips on where to place your money given the budget you want to stay in.

Joe was so great in helping me keep my surprise veil a secret from my mom. the whole ceremony was beautiful in the board room and went off without a hitch:). I couldn't believe how intimate the reception rooms looked downstairs considering how large they are. Dominic and the entire staff were very attentive to us and the guests. The food was amazing, our friends and family couldn't stop talking about it. I cant imagine getting married anywhere else, because of everyone at the franklin it was a stress free day we will remember forever.

Absolutely beautiful venue and the entire staff was so great to us and all of our guests. A HUGE thank you to our head waiter Dom who took unbelievable care of us all night, as the bride and groom we truly had nothing to worry about and were able to have the most amazing time. Joe was also a tremendous help organizing our event and was there to provide advice and support while respecting out decisions along the way. Our guests continue to rave to us about how this was the best wedding they have ever been to!

I cannot say enough good about Franklin Plaza. Everything was taken care of and I did not have to worry about a single thing throughout the day. Once we arrived at Franklin Plaza, the head waiter took such care of us, staying out of the way, but always there to attend to our every need, even as we were taking photos in the alley out back. We didn't even have to check into the hotel across the street, and when we arrived, there were pizzas behind the desk for a late night snack and EVERYTHING from the wedding was transported and placed in our room. I wish I could go through it all again, and I would not change a THING about my experience with Franklin Plaza, not to mention how beautiful the space was. They also offered tremendous advice and suggestions throughout the entire process - we took full advantage of their expertise. I am still amazed, 4 months later, at how much more perfect the day was than I could have ever anticipated.

Just fabulous!! The staff leading up to the wedding was fabulous and made you feel so confident about having your wedding there, then the day comes and the staff that evening blew your mind!! They are soooo amazing! I couldnt believe that the service got even better than all the consultations we had prior to the big day! Dom was our head waiter, and his service couldn't improve, he has it down and makes you feel so wonderful! Love the Franklin and their staff!

The Franklin Plaza Ballroom was not where I imagined getting married, however now, I couldn't imagine being married elsewhere. Our ceremony and reception of 210 guests took place here and it was absolutely positively gorgeous. The entire place was perfect, so was each staff member that worked our wedding. So kind and attentive to all of the guests needs, especially our personal waiter, who never let us out of his sight or even let our drinks get low . We met with Joey each and every meeting we had, he was very accommodating and informative. He never tried to swindle us or cut corners, he was very attentive and understanding regarding our budget. I thanked him for that every time.
The cocktail hour & half took place upstairs in a beautiful bar area and the food was plentiful. Not only was there an overwhelming (yet AMAZING) amount of food but the cocktail hour area was visually appetizing. Dinner was amazing and nothing short of being perfect. The turn around time was unbelievable 210 guests all eating at the same time! The up-lighting set the tone/mood for dancing and fun! The Franklin Plaza Ballroom was wonderful place to get married and an even better place to party! We would suggest this venue to any bride or groom looking for a great deal and place!

Words can not express our appreciation and gratitude for making our daughter's (and now son-in-law's) wedding something so spectacular. She fell in love with the Franklin Plaza at our first visit and was not disappointed, describing how she felt like a "Princess" the moment she stepped foot in the front door.
What a way to experience our first visit to the Franklin. Everything lived "up to and beyond" the numerous testimonials we began hearing as the time approached. The attention paid to the smallest details was exceptional.
Family and friends raved about what a great time they had. One family member boasted that this was "by far the best wedding they had ever attended, having been to some from Sanibel Island to the "City". The food, service and venue were outstanding.
We were impressed that the staff are not "scheduled" rather choose to be scheduled. Each and everyone who chose to be part of our evening were personable, presenting themselves with poise, confidence, politeness and with a smile. They added to the ambiance and helped to make memories we will enjoy for a lifetime.
When asked what was our favorite part, we can honestly say that since it was all so remarkable, no one thing took centerstage, although the sparklers were a nice touch!
Package III was exceptional and a great value.

Thank you Joe, Dom, Greg and everyone else at Franklin Plaza Ballroom for a spectacular night! The night was absolutely perfect. The staff was very gracious and accomodating. The food was outstanding! We couldn't have picked a better or more beautfiul venue to have our wedding. We will never forget this special day. Our friends and family all say it was the best wedding they've ever been to - Franklin knows how to put on a show!
Joe was extremely easy to work with and very professional throughout the whole process - He responded timely to my phone calls. He assured me that there were no hidden charges anywhere! And he was 100% correct - Franklin not only does not overcharge you for your reception but also acts as a wedding consultant. He gae me a lot of advice and useful tips for the other vendors. He's been in the wedding industry for over 20 years and he definitely knows what he's doing.
My husband and I can't even begin to start on how perfect the night went and that's all due to Franklin's staff. Dom made several trips to my hotel room to grab some items I may or may have not forgotten :) Throughout the night, Dom or Greg made sure my husband and I always had a drink in our hands. The plaza that night also allowed us to sample the 3rd entree we had chosen for our menus. They staged everything beautifully. The venue does not need much at all and the staff know exactly how to make the ballroom look its best.
I promise you will not be disappointed at all choosing Franklin - the package III is the best value you will get anywhere in the capital region - you get so much with this package it blows all the other top venues out of the water.
We are extremely pleased with our decision to have our wedding at Franklin Plaza and I hope our review helps other brides-to-be because when I was looking around, reviews are the only thing to rely on other than people who've attended weddings at venues.

Where do I begin? From day one working with Franklin Plaza was an absolute breeze. Joe is fantastic! He will not try to nickle and dime you and works with you every step of the way. We were under the minimum number of guests required for a Saturday night and he made sure we got our money's worth through various upgrades. Deanna always answered my incessant emails quickly and efficiently even though I'm sure I annoyed the heck out of her! ;)
On the day of... Well, we couldn't have asked for a more professional, on-the-ball staff. We had both our ceremony and reception at Franklin Plaza. Our day was perfect thanks to Greg, Dom and the rest of the staff. Without them, I don't know what we would have done! HUGE shout-out to Dom. He knew exactly what to do and where to be at every second. (Seriously, I think I called him my hero about 100 times that night.) And if you decide to work with the Best Western across the street, Leslie is just the absolute SWEETEST!
Our guests raved about the food, the location, the service, EVERYTHING. Thank you, thank you, thank you to EVERYONE at the Franklin Plaza Ballroom for giving us one of the best nights of our lives.

I highly recommend the Franklin Plaza to anyone looking for a wedding venue in the Capital District. My wife and I walked into Franklin Plaza looking for a venue, and walked out that day confident that it was where we wanted to be on our special day. From that day forward, the service was outstanding. Joe, Greg and Deanna were incredible thru out the whole planning process. Guests came up to us all night long raving about how beautiful the reception room was, and how outstanding the food was. Our head waiter Dom deserves a shout out, he never let our drinks get low and was right there all night making sure we were 100 % happy. I cannot say enough about how Franklin Plaza helped make our day perfect. What I'm trying to say is the appearance, food, and service all deserve five out of five stars. One word: Amazing!! It has been over two years since our wedding day and people still talk about how our wedding was the best one they have EVER been too! We could not have asked for a better venue. Out wedding was a touch of Jewish, catholic, russian, and italiantraditions. Of all the venues we looked at there were always rules about certain things we could and could not do. Other vendors also had all these extra fees like cake cutting and bottle corcking. Franklin Plaza did not nichel and dime us on these things. Joe at the Franklin Plaza worked with us on everything and accomodated us in all respects. On the day of the wedding the staff was outstanding. They were professional, ready for all eventualities and made the experience very relxing for us. We knew all the details would be taken care of and we did not have to worry about a thing.

They were fantastic to work with and even when we had last minute adjustments like on our way to the rehearsal adjustments they kindly worked with us without a problem! You want to talk about a Wedding, I felt like it was a wedding in Manhattan!!! The venue used to be a Bank that dates back the early 1900s. The layout of the wedding was amazing. One and half hour cocktail reception on the 2nd floor with specialty cocktails, homemade passed hors d'oeuvres and working stations. The food, service and attention to details could not be measured. There professional staff executed everything in a timely fashion.
It was a great location for both of our family with accommodation located across the street and the Franklin Square Inn & Suites. Once in the rooms I thought I was in a Las Vegas hotel room. The next morning we made arrangement for a brunch for our entire guest that stayed in the hotel.
For the money that we spent its worth the value.

Very Elegant and beautiful. They catered to me and my Fiance. They have a room just for the bride. The cocktail hour is outstanding. More food then you can imagine. The food was terrific right from the cocktail hour to the dinner. The staff was very accomadating and made sure there were no problems. If there was one, they fixed it and didn't let me find out till it was over (ie: the florist didn't send enough flowers for the cake,so they took a few from each table setting and filled the cake. I couldn't even tell and was thankful they didn't bother me and get me worried.) Dinner was served quickly and every plate was hot and delicious. It was worth every penny!! We had 180 people and didn't pay that much for what we got. Every guest was amazed and said it was the best wedding they ever went to.

The food and service the night of the wedding was excellent. We received many compliments from guests telling us how great the wedding was and how classy they thought Franklin Plaza was. I cannot say enough good things about Franklin Plaza Ballroom. First of all I picked this venue because the I REFUSED to get married in a stuffy, cliche, old fashioned 'wedding reception hall' like most places out there.
This place is unique, has history, and has so much charm. It used to be a bank back in the 1800's and I love that there are still elements of the bank visible inside today (the vault, the bar area, etc).
They have packages for many different budget levels. One thing that may turn some people off is that you have to pay for a minimum of 180 people. If you don't meet the 180 person minimum the remaining money that you paid goes towards extras (yay!). But regardless, some people may KNOW they are only going to have 100 people so that may not work in their favor.
The coordinators and managers there (Joe, Greg) are very supportive and helpful, especially when you're a frazzled bride. They were easy for me to get in touch with throughout my planning and very helpful. They also seemed genuinely concerned and kept reassuring me that they really wanted me to be happy with everything and give us the BEST value for our money. And they truly did.
The day of my wedding was a DREAM. It was magical. The venue looked amazing, the food was amazing, and we had a head waiter dedicated to the bridal party only who was there at our beckon call for ANYTHING we needed. I have received ENDLESS compliments, and everyone who sees my pictures says 'WHERE did you get married!!" DEFINITELY check this place out!!

The Franklin Plaza was AMAZING! For future brides - everyone told us how expensive it would be, that it wouldn't fit into our budget, etc. But we set up a time to meet with owner Michael Cocca. We told him our budget and what was important to us. He showed us days of the year where he could make it work for us. So, if you are flexible on your date, I HIGHLY recommend going and meeting with them. The day of the wedding, the staff was INCREDIBLE. We had our ceremony there as well. They give you your own personal waiter (ours was Dom), who checks in with you and the bridal party all night, getting you drinks, snacks and making sure you're having a great time. I can not say enough great things about the Franklin Plaza!

Amazing Venue!
My husband and I had our wedding at The Franklin Plaza Ballroom and we had such a beautiful wedding. Our guests kept on telling us how elegant and beautiful the venue was and they couldn't believe how nice it turned out to be. Michael and his team were very responsive and helpful and kept us up to date regularly throughout our wedding planning process. We overall had a great experience and a lovely wedding that we will remember always!

Michael and Deena were friendly, helpful and consistently available to provide suggesetions, information and responses. They offered information on vendors used in other weddings- 2 of which I used myself! From the first meeting to the end of the reception they were available and often 1 or 2 steps ahead to meet our needs- it was wonderful!
