My husband and I seriously could not have been happier with Fox and Ivory. From the moment I contacted them, every single interaction with them was a 10 out of 10. Truly. They hit the ball so far out of the park on professionalism, talent, communication and value that I feel like they’re the blueprint for how every vendor should operate. Professionalism: Peter and Jay are the consummate pros. They know their stuff and give it to you straight. Anticipate your needs. And always make you feel special. I would imagine that doing this for a while, your interactions with clients can get a little “transactional.” But not with them. They never take the importance of their jobs for granted, and every interaction feels thoughtful, meaningful and personalized. Plus, they are laugh-out-loud funny and such a joy to work with! When I emailed Jay some questions I had, he immediately suggested we hop on a call instead of going back and forth electronically. And I felt so much better after I spoke with him in person. Talent: Well, the photos speak for themselves. So natural. So candid. So inspired. We absolutely ADORED our photographer, Violet. First of all, she is the friendliest, kindest person you will ever meet. She had such an easy way with us, and we instantly felt comfortable and confident in her hands. I swear, she could make us look good sitting in squalor, if she had to. But we loved our time with her on our actual wedding day and didn’t want her to leave! She blends in during the intimate moments, goes with the flow, has great ideas and captures all the best moments you want to see and share over and over. She really is so special and we can’t say enough great things about her. Communication. They tell you everything you need and nothing you don’t at the exact time you need it, while always looking forward to what’s next. None of their emails seem canned, but rather carefully curated and meaningful. You always know exactly where you are in the process. Value. My god, these guys are priceless. Honestly, I think they’re a steal for what you get because you can’t put a price tag on their level of professionalism, communication and talent combined. I cannot recommend them highly enough. And I know they will never become monsters from all my compliments (which they deserve!) because they’re just too nice of people. -

After looking for and meeting with many photographers, we decided to go with Violet from Fox and Ivory. During our engagement shoot, Violet made things very comfortable and fun which really helped solidify that we made the right choice for the wedding. We also had her shoot our rehearsal dinner and we are so glad we did, she walked around and captured so many amazing moments.
For the wedding we hired both videography and photography and both teams were excellent at helping keep us(me) at ease and make it fun and comfortable to have cameras around. Our pictures are amazing and captured the memories even better than I could have hoped and the team we worked with really added to our big day!
Jay was very communicative and helpful during the entire process which also helped make wedding planning easier. We highly recommend Fox and Ivory, especially Violet and her team! -

We had the absolute best experience working with Jay and his entire team at Fox and Ivory. They're a friendly, highly competent team. By the end, I thought of Jay as a dear friend! They do a great job of helping to manage emotions and expectations and yet still curate around your desires. They're very good at managing the various family/friends in your pictures to come together and get in the right poses. oh and of course, the pictures are stunning! For those struggling to figure out where to take pictures or how to do them, you can easily leverage their expertise here as well. All in all, couldn't recommend Jay's team enough. Our day wouldn't have been so special with out them. -

Fox + Ivory captured the most beautiful moments of our wedding day and got our pictures and videos back to us so quickly! Jay was easy to reach and very responsive through the entire planning process and when the big day came we had two photographers and two videographers. Maddie and Julia were amazing to work with and made it a stress free day. We were so happy we went with Fox + Ivory it was nice to have a group of people who were used to working with another so they weren’t fighting for the good shots. We are forever grateful we have the most amazing memories to look back on from the best day of our lives! Thank you again! -

The Fox and Ivory team gave white glove service and did an amazing job getting coverage of our wedding.
Jay was open and honest from the day that we inquired about their services. There were no “gotchyas” and everything was straightforward and simple. Jay was very conscientious of where we were in the planning process and offered invaluable advice that helped us structure out the day. He was available for in person meet ups, zoom calls, and was always responsive to emails.
We did our engagement and bridal shower photos with Jay. These were both great experiences because it was almost like a “dry run” for the wedding. Additionally, because the photos were fantastic and diverse, they were perfect to post on our wedding website.
On the day of the wedding, we had met the whole team, and everyone was respectful, informative, and put us and our guests at ease. They were aware of the plan for the day and helped keep everything on track as we moved to our photo locations, and later reception venue. During the reception they did a fantastic job taking photos of us and our guests. They were always present but never in the way of anyone. We greatly appreciate the attention to detail and amazing coverage that they provided.
The photos were turned around within the expected time frame and we couldn’t be happier with the results. The team took our considerations and did a beautiful job capturing our personalities and relationship. We could not recommend Jay and the Fox and Ivory team enough! -

We worked with Jeremy as head photographer and Jen as assistant photographer for our wedding in October 2022. They were awesome! Perfect balance of professional and fun, they took care of business getting key shots while not being pushy. Also, working with Jay on any random questions we had in the whole process was unbelievably helpful and made the whole process feel like a breeze. Thank you!! -

Our lead photographer Nisa was incredible to work with. I've always felt insecure in front of the camera, but she made me feel so confident and calm that day. I was worried I'd feel like a celebrity with cameras flashing in my face all day, but the Fox + Ivory team must have invisibility cloaks. They discretely captured all of our candid moments and allowed me to feel fully present on my wedding day. Our team of photographers and videographers felt like old friends. The whole team was fun, professional and responsive throughout our whole engagement. We cannot thank them enough ! -

Our wedding venue Woman’s Club of Evanston recommended Fox and Ivory for our April 2022 wedding, and we liked the owner, Jay, immediately. Our photographer Jose and his assistant photographer Gerardo were wonderful! They took pictures throughout the day, which included getting ready photos, a “first look”, a complicated set of posed family photos, the ceremony, cocktail hour, and finally the reception. They captured special moments and wonderful details, making for a very special photo album. We love that we can download any of the images to share with our guests, and we appreciated their transparent pricing model. Considering the quality of the photographs and the professionalism of all involved, we cannot recommend Fox and Ivory highly enough. -

We discovered Fox + Ivory on The Knot. After reviewing their amazing portfolio, I filled out the Contact form on their website, and Jay reached out to me with confirmation of availability and package information. We selected a 9-hour, 2-photographer package, and Jay paired us with Jeremy. Jay provided us several tools to better design our photography plan, including a questionnaire to build our day-of timeline (which was EXTREMELY helpful) and a worksheet with our notes detailing the different types of pictures we wanted taken. We also completed two planning phone calls—one with Jay, one with Jeremy—to further discuss the game plan as well as any questions we had.
Working with them on our wedding day was great! Jeremy and Tom arrived right on time and easily worked with us, our groomsmen, bridesmaids, family members, and day-of coordinator to capture all our getting-ready photos. Pictures were taken in a candid, comfortable manner; we all had lots of laughs when attempting both serious and silly photos; and they were very patient with us even when we ran slightly behind schedule. They were very open to our ideas and we definitely appreciated all their suggestions too! At our venue, they were incredibly considerate with our group as we took photos outside, letting us take breaks from time to time to avoid the heat and bugs and for me to get off my feet. They were also super patient when we gathered up family for portraits following the ceremony. We can’t wait to see our photos but we’re certain they will turn out perfect!

Exceptional Wedding Photographers Who Rise Above a Crowded Field
In our search for the best wedding photos, we reached out to over 15 photographers, and Fox + Ivory easily stood out from everyone far and above. In the span of over two years, from the first email to receiving the full gallery, Fox + Ivory was nothing short of incredible and efficient. The team is extremely communicative, friendly, professional, enthusiastic and genuine. Due to the pandemic, we rescheduled our wedding and communicating with Niki made the process smooth and worry-free. We felt extremely lucky to have had Peter & Jay as our photographers. Peter & Jay were incredibly personable, patient and skilled shooters. They were terrific at guiding, adjusting on the fly, making everything just flow well and very down to earth as if you were age-old friends. Our gallery was terrific and you absolutely cannot go wrong with Fox + Ivory for one of the most important aspects of a wedding. -

Fox & Ivory was so incredible and easy to work with and we cannot recommend them enough! Nisa and Erin were our photographers and they were amazing throughout the day. They had the best tips for posing, easily organized group photos, they made us feel comfortable with our portraits (and we are terrible with pictures), and even came to the rescue (helping me stay calm) when the bridal party was late and forgot to bring some items. We couldn’t have picked a better photography team for our day.
The owner Jay was the one communicating with us before and after the wedding and he was so understanding, personable and ready to offer any help with vendor recommendations, timeline planning, questions, etc. The whole team knows weddings and it shows, but they are also overall great people and they will make sure that you get everything you could hope for and that the day goes as smoothly as possible. As for the pictures, they are simply incredible, candid, amazing quality, and we are so happy with the results!

We had Nissa, Kelsey, Carly, and Eli as our team of photographers and videographers. They were so great to work with on the day of our wedding. We had a lot of fun, and they were so helpful throughout the day. Our pictures were stunning - so many people have reached out to let us know how great they look. Both our highlight video and coverage film are amazing. We love watching them and reliving so many great moments on our day. Working with Fox & Ivory was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding!! We did our engagement photos, wedding photos, video & photo booth with them; it was amazing to have just one vendor for all of those services. Niki's communication is outstanding; she answered all of our questions promptly and was extremely helpful throughout the entire planning process, especially when things were so unknown with the pandemic. Jay was our photographer and we absolutely LOVED working with him! He is a true artist and is so incredibly talented. It was great to get to know him during our engagement photos, so we were totally comfortable on our wedding day; it felt like having a friend photographing our day. And our video team was wonderful; our coverage and highlight videos were breathtaking! We are so grateful to have these memories forever. Jay was also amazing on the wedding day with coordinating the entire photo & video team; he was super flexible, communicative and efficient. We also highly recommend using their gifyyy photobooth; it is a fun alternative to a traditional booth, does still photos and boomerangs and sends directly to guest's phones! Our experience with Fox & Ivory was amazing from start to finish, we cannot recommend working with them enough!! -

We are so happy that we hired Peter at Fox + Ivory to be our wedding videographer. We didn't think we wanted to have video documentation at our wedding, but changed our minds because many friends and family weren't able to attend due to Covid restrictions. We are so happy with our decision, and would absolutely recommend a videographer to any couple, no matter what. Your wedding day is such a whirlwind, and it's now such a gift to have video documentation. By the way, the videos are absolutely beautiful. We have had many friends and family tell us that the highlight video so accurately captured the spirit of our wedding day. We totally agree! Peter was so positive, kind, and laid back on the wedding day. Niki is also very professional, and makes planning easy. We highly recommend Fox + Ivory! -

Highly recommend!
We had the best experience with Fox + Ivory! Niki was so easy to work with, and when COVID hit, she was extremely helpful in changing our original plans. We took advantage of the mini packages offered because of COVID, and we were excited to still be able to use them on our “mini” big day! Our photographers, Jason and Mike, were easy to work with and very flexible all day. My cat decided to crash our “getting ready” photos and Jason was all for getting a little shoot with him! Our photos are better than we could have ever expected and we have already gotten so many compliments. Carly was our videographer and was very professional and easy to work with. We ended up wanting more time with her and she was more than happy to stay for two more hours. Overall, an amazing company to work with and highly recommend!

I LOVE when my brides tell me they're working with Fox + Ivory, because I know I am going to get GORGEOUS images for my portfolio! I also love that they are chill on wedding days, getting great photos but not stressing my brides out-you can tell they're all pros! And don't worry if you're "not good in photos " they will tell you how to pose and keep you comfortable, all while getting a really good range of posed and candid shots! Fox + Ivory are great wedding photographers and videographers and I look forward to more weddings together+ -

A long overdue review of an exceptional company:
Does Fox and Ivory have great photographers? Yes, 100%. Their entire team is very skilled and attentive in listening to any special needs and seeking out particularly magical moments. Their technical skills are also impressive, and they were able to capture incredible images for us no matter the lighting, weather, or environment. In addition to being very talented, they were a blast to have at our wedding and added just that much more joy and excitement to our day. If you're looking for photographers who value you as a unique couple, are genuinely interested in your personal story, and who will also provide you with beautiful keepsake images, then there's no need to look further. But more than that, I want to make it known that they are a company that operates out of unparalleled integrity and high moral standards. Going far beyond "good customer service," the owners and photographers of Fox and Ivory are simply stunning people. They are compassionate and patient, communicative and professional, inclusive and dedicated. After a few unforeseen difficulties with our wedding, Fox and Ivory stepped up and not only solved some complex and thorny situations with us, but by the end they had become valued friends. We are super happy with Fox + Ivory and their services. Niki is great at quickly replying to e-mails and answering our questions. Jay was our photographer and he captured some really beautiful shots. He's very down to earth and makes your feel comfortable. He listened to our requests of having our guests come take a picture with us at our sweetheart table and take night time photos. Our edited pictures came back to us in less than 3 weeks, the teaser in 2. Our video team was also fun. We keep replaying our highlight film over and over. I wish the coverage film was edited a little more or if they captured the guests more instead of just focusing on random awkward oops moments but that's okay. I love that we get to download and share our pics/videos. -

Hands down Jay was an outstanding photographer. Not only did he know what pictures he knew we would want, but even added in a few! He found spots prior to the event for photos so we were losing time looking around. He keeps everything very fun, casual and is a great addition to the vendor team. He works well under pressure of time and kept us on schedule! He uses a few different kinds of lens as well as different types of photography methods. Photography was the most important thing to us, so naturally, we searched through a LOT of portfolios of different photographers in the area. From the initial e-mail, Fox + Ivory stood out from all of the other photographers we contacted. Not only was their response time fast, but they were genuinely interested in what we were looking for; they weren't just looking to book another client.
We were given 3 available photographers to choose from. We loved Jason's shooting style, and we were able to see a full gallery of his before booking. Throughout the planning process, Fox + Ivory was great with answering all of my questions and staying in touch.
I was positive we chose the right photographer based on our week-of phone call. Jason was easy to talk to and I was extremely relieved after we planned out the day. I had a few concerns about timing, and he let me know that there would be no problems--and there weren't. He also let me know that the second photographer would be Mike, one of their lead photographers, which was exciting.
The day of, both Jason and Mike were right on time and ready to go. Not only were they great to work with, but we loved having them around throughout the day. They were patient with our (somewhat rowdy) bridal party, had creative ideas, and kept us on schedule. Plus, they were fun! My entire bridal party (especially the bridesmaids...) loved them. :)
We received a preview on their blog about a week after our wedding and the entire gallery within a few weeks! We were expecting a few hundred pictures, but we received close to 1000! It was so fun scrolling through our gallery and reliving the day. They truly are storytellers.
I would not hesitate to use Fox + Ivory again and have already recommended them to my friends who are getting married. Hands down the best. Thank you for such a great experience! -
Mallory Sent on 01/03/2018Jay with Fox+Ivory shot our wedding this summer, and we couldn't have been happier with him. To start, he's a super down to earth guy with a great energy - pretty important for someone who's going to be with you your entire wedding day. He's also an excellent storyteller with a gift for photography. Our wedding photos are so beautiful. I look at them weirdly often. I posted some of my favorites with this review.
We did an engagement shoot, which I would recommend. It really helps you prepare for how the wedding day will go. Doing a trial run before the wedding gives you a feel for the photographer’s style, and will help you know what to expect on the big day.
We didn’t have a wedding planner and had no clue what we were doing, but Jay helped us figure out everything we needed to do to make the wedding day run smoothly. He ensured we made good time with our pre-wedding pictures, and even wrangled our families after the ceremony to get the portraits we wanted. We had him bring an assistant along, which I’d also recommend. It’s a little more expensive, but your pictures are not the area you want to skimp on for your wedding day. Plus, Fox+Ivory is very affordable compared to many other wedding photographers. Having a 2nd shooter helped capture some amazing shots that might not have been possible otherwise (i.e. my sister wiping away tears as we said our vows!!).
Jay followed up with us a month after the wedding with a blog post and a sneak peek of a few photos from our wedding. The full gallery was ready 6-7 weeks after the wedding – which is crazy fast in terms of wedding photos. They looked amazing to boot. The pictures were easily shared with family and friends, and downloadable without a password or encryption. This an underrated benefit of Fox+Ivory.
All photographers have different styles, so when you’re picking one, look through their other work. We loved what we saw in Jay's portfolio and the finished product did not disappoint! Highly recommend! -

Sasha Sent on 12/18/2017Jay gets my highest recommendations for wedding photography; seriously. Stop looking and just hire him! Jay is fun to be around, has a wonderful eye for great shots, a drill sergeant when he needs to be (necessary when getting people lined up), calm under pressure, great with people and guests and masterful at capturing candid moments and an all around delight. He's everything you could hope for to capture the magic of your day and make everything go smooth. I am a designer myself and have high standards for the creative direction, lighting, and composition when it comes to photos - and they hit it out of the park with every single shot. The photos he took for our wedding were above and beyond what we had hoped for and he was a joy to have as a part of our day. A few other important notes: Unlike some photographers who give you a finite number of images or put a bunch of red tape and rules around digital files, Jay and his collaborators don't impose needless restrictions and rules on anything, are flexible and easy to work with and provide a great value. Our Wedding Coordinator raved about them, and our Caterer raved about them. 100% solid all around. Jay also keeps good company and collaborates with top notch talent and people (Peter and Vic at http://petergubernat.com/). You definitely want team Peter/Vic/Jay as a part of your day.

We received our engagement photos with in a few weeks and we were so happy with how they turned out! During the planning process Jay was always there to answer any questions or give suggestions.
On wedding day Jay was amazing. He knew which special photos I wanted to include, and was always game for impromptu photos I thought of. We had a good amount of BM and GM that he was able to get organized and set for many photos in a short amount of time.
The best part was the morning after the wedding I woke up to a sweet email from Jay with a lovely note about the day and a few sneak peek photos that we LOVE! I can't wait to see the rest of the photos soon! -

Jay made us feel comfortable from day 1 and not only did he surprise us with an engagement session, but he also brought a second shooter (an amazing photographer named Mike) on our wedding day- totally above and beyond our photo package (which is honestly the best priced around). Our engagement session was simple & sweet and the photos turned out beautiful. Our wedding photos are divine- Jay & Mike captured the most amazing moments & details. The day wasn't so much a photo shoot as it was the unfolding of a story- beautiful & totally unique to my husband & I. Thank you Jay, Mike, & Peter!

Amazing work!
Nisa and the Fox + Ivory team were wonderful! We couldn't have been happier with the way our engagement and wedding photos turned out. Fox + Ivory created beautiful wedding portraits of us and the bridal party, and they captured some of the best moments from our ceremony and reception. They were also an absolute pleasure to have on-site during the event. I highly recommend! -

We were disappointed with the service we received and with our final gallery. Despite multiple phone calls with Fox + Ivory’s leadership, including discussing our location, schedule, and shot list in advance, the photographers we were assigned were completely unprepared. This led to significant delays, an abundance of stress, rushed portraits, and missed photo opportunities with each other, as the bride and groom, and with our loved ones. The photographers had not scouted our location in advance, they did not keep to our schedule, and they lacked focus and direction. The photography challenges we faced on our wedding day show in the final gallery we were delivered. We did not receive the quality and quantity of photos we expected, and few photos feel worthy of printing or sharing with family and friends. When we shared feedback with Jay and Peter after our wedding, they dismissed our concerns and did not take accountability.
