I was just looking for hair and makeup for myself for my wedding, and had a harder time than expected finding someone who offered flexibility and micro-wedding HMU packages in the DMV. Mervat at Fleur blew me away. At my trial, she did a great job listening to my ideas and preferences and understanding my personal style. She built and improved upon my vision helping me to look and feel my best.
On the wedding day, she came to my house and flawlessly executed the look. My hair and makeup stayed beautifully in place from 9am through midnight on a hot August day which included an outdoor ceremony and lots of dancing at the reception. She did a great job with both my hair and makeup, and it was so nice/easy to have everything done in one place, with one person. -

Mervat and her team were AMAZING. Mervat was so accommodating leading up to the big day with scheduling changes and brought so much amazing energy during hair & makeup - pumping up all of the girls and providing me with calming energy while I was getting my hair and makeup done. Everyone looked amazing and my makeup stayed on so well all night! I don't wear much makeup often and Mervat made sure to give me the perfect romantic, soft glam that still made me feel like myself. Such an amazing team! -

Mervat did a fantastic job doing hair and makeup for my wedding! She did bridal hair and makeup for me, and she also did hair and makeup for my mom. Mervat was very careful to create looks for both of us that were exactly what each of us wanted. She was professional, prompt, and responsive, and worked very well with our other vendors. I felt so beautiful and so did my mom. We would highly recommend her work! -

I can’t thank Mervat and Ala enough for the amazing job they did for my bridesmaids and me on my wedding day!!! During the summer I was having the hardest time looking for a makeup artist for my wedding day and stumbled upon Fleur Beauty Studio. I’m so thankful they had an opening and was able to schedule a trial for makeup and hair. The were able to achieve the look I was going for and I knew right away I wanted to go with them. They were beyond professional and provided excellent communication. On my wedding day, they provided the best service and my makeup and hair lasted all day. I’m so happy I found them on the Wedding Wire and would work with them again for any future special occasions! -

Mervat is the best!
She did my makeup for my special day and it lasted all night long! She was able to do exactly what I showed her in my inspiration pictures, which was mostly natural with a bit of glam. I felt super comfortable talking to her and letting her know how I felt about the makeup along with any changes I wanted. She was also able to do my mother-in-laws makeup last minute which I appreciated so much. She did an amazing job and made me feel so beautiful on my wedding day! -

Couldn’t be happier!!!
I am so happy I found Mervat and Ala to do my hair and makeup. As someone who does not were a ton of makeup and can picky about my hair, I could not have been happier— Mervat and Ala listened to all my ideas (too many Pinterest pins!) and were so kind and patient with me when I couldn’t make up my mind on how I wanted to be styled. They are true professionals and helped me pick a hair and makeup style that gave me a little glam for the special day while making sure I still looked like myself. They were so fun to work with and allowed me to do a trial even though I booked them only a couple weeks before my wedding. They were punctual, super responsive and came well prepared with everything needed.
My maid of honor also had her hair and makeup done and opted with a bit heavier glam makeup—when I say it was perfect it feels like an understatement. The makeup did not overpower her features but rather allowed her to stand out in a subtle way.
My mom had her hair done by Ala as well and was thrilled—she picked out a little hat/fascinator that matched her dress but didn’t know how to style her hair with it. Ala easily whipped up a perfect style that was so appropriate and made my moms thinner hair look flawless without having to add any extensions! She was beaming all day feeling fabulous and pampered.
Both hair and makeup lasted ALL DAY for all three of us- and when I say all day, I mean it was literally 99 degrees and humid outside and we had our ceremony and pictures all outside. My hair even stayed curled for the next few days. I wanted to sleep in my makeup!! The way Mervat made my skin look like there was not makeup on it while still giving me contour was a work of art. I didn’t even have ANY creasing under my eyes and I have pretty wrinkly hooded eyes.
I would recommend Mervat and Ala to everyone I know and will very work with them both again!! -

Mervat and Esma were great. They listened to all of my parties thoughts, wishes, and concerns. Mervat also sent me what to do on the days leading up to take care of my face and how to handle makeup and sunscreen to look flawless in photos. Mervat was great and also sent me a timeline to fill out so I would know when everyone would go and how much it would take. All so great. -

They were so kind and a pleasure to work with. The makeup and hair turned out great for everyone and it was all done efficiently! The timing was great for my whole bridal party, we had no worries that things wouldn’t get done on time which Ive heard happens to lots of people. -

Fleur Beauty Studio was wonderful, talented, and personable. Mervat (make-up) did a great job on myself and bridesmaids. After the trial, I went to buy the lipstick in order to have it to re-apply; when it turned out to look different than her sample, she allowed me to come in to the studio so we could try multiple lipstick options until we got the right one! Absolutely stunning hair and makeup - must hire!
Mervat (Merve) and Ala (and their assistants) are amazing! They were very responsive, flexible, and are not as expensive as other beauty vendors. They have experience with all different hair and skin types and I asked for something that is not too natural (and they were so happy about it since many are just natural and it was nice to not be too common). They were willing to do the hair at hotel or venue and we ended up doing venue because of lighting and they had a great bridal studio. They are speedy, but the results are so gorgeous. To start later, Ala brought an assistant for hair on the day of who she included without an extra fee. My hair and makeup lasted the whole night. The only thing that didn't last that I wish I had was the lip color. It would've been great to have a little bit of that lip color set aside for me so that we could reapply it when it came off after the eating and drinking. I would've absolutely paid for it. I sent my stepmother out to purchase it at the store after asking Merve for the brand and color name, but they didn't have it so there was a slightly different one that I had to wear.
I had my makeup done before, but never my hair. My aunt is a hairdresser and has always done my hair - I've never had it done by anyone before so I was very nervous. I went through a lot of HMU vendors and looked at all their pictures to see if they had i) anything similar to the style I was looking for and ii) have worked with hair and skin types of different ethnicities as I had bridesmaids from all different ethnicities. I also asked them if they work with thin hair and if there is a way that they could make my hair have more volume. We did the trial even before I booked, which was incredibly helpful! They used the donut and a sample hairpiece just so I could see the full effect. I provided some ideas on makeup and Merve had her vision of how to do it that worked great and used a lip color I never thought I'd use and was perfect! -

I am truly happy that I found Mervat and Ala for my wedding day hair and makeup! From the beginning, Mervat was incredibly responsive, and continued to be up until the wedding day, easing my nerves about my hair and makeup decisions and changes. On the wedding day they knew exactly what to do in order to make us all look and feel great! I felt like they really listened to what I said and showed them in pictures. Fleur Beauty did a fantastic job with my hair and makeup for my wedding day, as well as makeup for my bridesmaids and the mothers of the bride/groom. I loved working with Mervat from the first time we first met up for my trial. She listened to my input to create a natural, soft, and glamorous look. The final result was amazing! My updo was a work of art and didn't move a bit all night. Communication was clear, and they really helped to lower my stress level with their calm presence. The moms were especially nervous about getting their makeup done for the first time ever, but they felt like she really listened to them, and they were so happy with the results! -

Mervat and Ala were so amazing. Throughout the entire process (from reaching out initially, planning a trial, various communications, etc.), I felt supported and guided at every step of the way. After my trial, I had a few questions and suggestions and both Mervat and Ala were receptive and responsive to things I wanted to tweak. When it came to the day of my wedding, they were on time, efficient, and engaged with my bridesmaids, mom, and my mother-in-law. They listened to us all and worked to give us exactly what we wanted. I really recommend Fleur Beauty Studio. They will take any and all stress out of your beauty plans :-) -

I booked Fleur Beauty Studio for my wedding in May, and I am so glad I did. Mervat, Ala and her team were easygoing, responsive, and willing to work me in despite having another wedding scheduled for the same day. They're also relatively affordable--their rates were the best I could find in the DC area. During my trial, I was uncertain of the exact look I wanted, and just sent some photos to them in advance of potential ideas--Mervat totally nailed the makeup look I wanted, and made my dark circles disappear (miracle) and Ala gave me a hair look that I ended up changing on her the day of--she was totally gracious and adjusted the style to be exactly what I wanted. It was a high updo with not a hair out of place and an elaborate hair pin weaved in, in addition to the veil--it was stunning! My bridesmaids also looked fantastic, and the most impressive part was that our hair/makeup never fell, smudged, or faded after 8+ hours of dancing, riding a carousel, and being out and about in very rainy and windy weather. I would definitely recommend this team to anyone looking for professional hair and makeup services. They're pleasant to work with and great at what they do. -

I've loved makeup since the 6th grade so trust me when I say that the beauty team was my most important decision during my wedding planning. The team at Fleur perfectly executed on a variety of makeup and hair styling needs for myself, my mom, and 5 ladies in my wedding party. I did a trial for both makeup and hair services, and I highly recommend you do so as well. Beginning with just booking trials with Mervat and Ala, their communication, kindness and professionalism have topnotch and they stood out among the dozens of companies/individuals I've contacted. I am a meticulous planner, but inevitably some aspect of my wedding didn't go as planned the morning of my wedding. This team was the first vendor team to arrive and kudos to them as we were all calm and vibing the entire time. This is the team you need for your big day!

Since I've been a little girl I've dreamed of my "Cinderella" moment and thanks to my "Fairy Godmothers" Mervat and Ala that lifelong dream came true! If you've come across this page honestly do yourself a favor and stop searching, this is the beauty vendor you want for your big day.
I had a rough idea of how I wanted my hair and make-up to look for the big day but Mervat and Ala took that and enhanced it to make my wedding look everything I wanted and more. They were so patient and accommodating for not only myself but the entire wedding party! They arrived on time and were flexible working with the wedding timeline. I can't thank them enough for giving me a look that lasted all the way through the after party! -

Beautiful artistry and calming energy!
Mervat and Ala were an outstanding team, starting from my first contact to the finishing touches on my big day. I really appreciated Mervat's responsiveness and professionalism throughout the process, ensuring I felt comfortable at every step and that we achieved my vision for hair and makeup. We did not at first hit the right color for my foundation at the trial, but she was very encouraging and mixed a few colors to get the perfect match. The day of the wedding both Mervat and Ala arrived on time and worked with a wonderfully calming energy, which was much appreciated on the big day. My mom and I were so pleased! I highly recommend them - very talented artists and attentive professionals. Grateful! -

Mervat is an all around great makeup artist. My mother has melasma on her face which causes very dark spots. Mervat did her makeup so well that you couldn’t tell she had a skin disorder. The makeup was blended to perfection. She gave my mom a very natural look for her photoshoot. I would definitely continue to use her as my makeup artist. -

Fleur Beauty Studio did my makeup for my 3 major occasions: religious ceremony, bridal shower and wedding reception. Fleur Beauty Studio outdid each occasion. During my wedding reception Fleur Beauty Studio used waterproof makeup that was sweatproof as well. It was a terribly hot day and people were still complimenting me on my makeup till the end of the night.
Fleur Beauty Studio worked with her clients and is VERY patient with an indecisive client like me. I truly recommend Fleur Beauty Studio HIGHLY!! THANK YOU Fleur Beauty Studio for making me look stunningly gorgeous! -

I throughly enjoyed my experience with Juliet Beauty Studio not only was I impressed with the level of professionalism, but I was in awe of how stress free the entire process seemed. As a woman of color range of color is the biggest fear I have when getting my make up done , I was pleasantly surprised with how diverse the kits were! Make up for all and any occasion
I attend a lot of functions where is it required to have a fully face of make-up and eyes always on you lol. Therefore for me it’s a no brainer to go to Juliet Beauty...i just tell them the event and my dress and let them work their magic! I feel instantly like Cinderella minus the whole pumpkin thing. -

Everyone was happy!
I had my bridal hair and makeup done with Mervat and Ala, as well as several bridesmaids & my mom for hair and makeup. I was especially nervous about makeup and Mervat hit the perfect balance: enough to look good in pictures, but natural enough to look like myself in person. Ala is a hair magician. They both do stunning work and they are fast! -

Poor professionalism, adequate hair/makeup
At the end of the day, the hair and makeup services provided by Fleur Beauty services were adequate. That being said, there were several concerns related to the hair and makeup team that reflects in our overall rating of Fleur Beauty Studios.
Fleur Beauty Studio failed to adhere to the agreed upon schedule, caused extreme distress and confusion on the wedding day, and dismissed the concerns we brought forth after the wedding. The hairdresser was over an hour and a half late. The bride was distraught and the bridesmaids were frantically trying to calm everyone down including the mothers of the bride and groom who had disappointing beauty services as well. Furthermore, neither the bride nor the original two makeup artists from Fleur Beauty Studio were able to reach the hairdresser while wondering where they may be. This placed an undue amount of stress on the bride, the bridesmaids, and the mothers. To make matters even more frustrating, no explanation was given as to why the hairdresser was so late. This was a significant disruption in the flow of our wedding day and had it not been for the outstanding skills of the rest of our vendors and an incredible team of bridesmaids, the rest of the day's schedule could have been permanently altered. We paid a lot of money for the services given; at a minimum we would expect the vendors to show up on time. Even when Fleur Beauty Studio's owner showed up due to the unexplained absence of the hairdresser, the hair still did not last for all of the girls, including the bride, for the whole night. The bride's hair fell out during the reception and had to be redone by bridesmaids after the first dance. Most of the bridesmaids' hair fell out of their curls by the time we were doing bridal party portraits. I would have expected that at least the bride's hair would have been able to withstand a majority of the day without additional retouches, especially for the price we paid for these services. There was rain on our wedding day (though we were inside and in conditioned spaces for all of the ceremony with maybe 10 minutes total outside before bridal party portraits), but the hair team still should have adequately adjusted their work for the very expected weather conditions of our wedding day (i.e. tighter curls, more hairspray, more bobby pins, etc.). The bride's makeup did last throughout the day and was pleased with her look, but the mother's and a few bridesmaids were displeased after specific (and important) requests (such as "Do not make me look pale compared to my tan") where not followed (that bridesmaid was made at least 3 shades paler on her face than her skin and was not showed her final makeup until it was done and could not be fixed). After reaching out to the owner to express my concerns, we were completely blown-off and no care was given. We are disappointed by the lack of professionalism from the hair and beauty team and 100% DO NOT recommend Fleur Beauty Studios. -
