We could not be happier with how everything went with Ashley as our day of coordinator for our Tahoe wedding. She was invaluable in helping us prep ahead of time, and her timeline was the key to our wedding being as smooth as it was. Even when little issues popped up, she was flexible and already had a solution in mind even before we knew something was up. I can't recommend her and First Pick Planning enough! -

First Pick should be yout only pick
Aside from marrying my husband, choosing Ashley and The First Pick Planning team was the best decision I made for our wedding day. It took me a while to write this review because I (very weirdly) teared up every time thinking about how clutch Ashley was on our big day. She did everything I knew needed to be done (I was long ago sold on the idea of a month-to-day of coordinator) but I cannot overstate and oversell the feeling of ease and confidence she let me have on our wedding day, knowing that all the details were in super competent (and delightful) hands. Weddings are crazy and amazing and joyful and overwhelming – all the prep and planning for months coming to a condensed celebration. They are all those things even before you add a crazy set of logistics. I was able to hand all those logistics over to Ashley and then some! At its simplest, she executed so I could party and really let myself be in the joy of the day. For the practical minded out there – here are some highlights of her work – she organized our timeline with all of our vendors’ timelines and made sure everyone had the same timeline, she picked up the bouquets and boutonnieres day of, she brought our décor from our room to the venue and set it all up, she made our ceremony flawless with a quick yet thorough rehearsal, she liaised with the venue and us on what went back to our room (cake, décor, etc), she packed it out at the end of the night and brought it all back to our room. She thought of everything from speaker set up to who is driving whom to the pre-ceremony photos and even took a few things off out plate like the easel she keeps in her car for seating charts. Again, I truly can’t recommend Ashley and First Pick Planning enough! -

From the very first interaction with Ashley, we knew we were in the best hands to bring our dream wedding to life! Planning a destination wedding poses additional hurdles and Ashley made the process feel fun, focused, and productive! Her natural ability to build relationships is so evident and she truly listens to you. She wasn't just our wedding planner, she became our friend and guided us to make decisions that felt like "us". Ashley is the best!!!
I truly can’t say enough positive things about Ashley. She made the entire wedding process easy, fun, and exciting from start to finish. She kept us on schedule without ever being pushy, supported our creative ideas while helping us work through the details, and made the actual wedding day feel effortless.
Our bridal party couldn’t stop talking about how incredible she was and how seamlessly the whole weekend flowed because of her. My entire family agrees—hiring Ashley was hands down the best decision we made during the wedding planning process.
If there’s one piece of advice I give to any friend planning a wedding, it’s this: hire Ashley!-

Ashley is wonderful!
Ashley was our wedding planner for a pretty complicated Indo-Western fusion wedding. She always made us feel seen, heard, and supported - adapted to changing weather situations with grace and ease - and ALWAYS had a smile on her face to cheer us on and make our wedding day feel that much more special and wonderful. If you want a wedding executed by someone who truly LISTENS to what you want and adapts the plan accordingly, Ashley is your person. Thank you Ashley! -

Ashley kept us sane and stress-free through the wedding planning process!
Ashley was the best decision we made during our entire wedding planning process. I promise you won’t find anyone more capable, friendly, organized, and efficient than her.
When it came to planning, Ashley took a big weight off our shoulders. We were able to rely on her recommendations and expertise given her experience with Lake Tahoe weddings, which saved us hours of research and probably thousands of dollars. She listened to our needs and dreams and recommended multiple vendors that suited our style and budget. We wouldn’t have been able to select such a strong team of vendors without her input.
In the months leading up to the wedding weekend, Ashley kept us on track with helpful nudges, check-ins, and milestones. She guided us on priorities, which made us feel less overwhelmed by the whole process.
Then during the wedding weekend, we didn’t worry at all because we knew Ashley had it handled. As a Type A person, this is unusual for me, but it speaks to the trust that Ashley built up over the months of planning. She was so organized and smooth that even though I had a pile of miscellaneous goodies (like restroom amenity kits which we had never talked about) to take to the venue on the wedding morning with no directions on where they’d go or what they were all for, she figured it all out and put them in the right places. And when a table centerpiece bouquet went missing, I learned the next day that Ashley had craftily made a new impromptu bouquet by reusing flowers from our ceremony arch. I’m sure there were more incidents that we never heard about that she fixed for us so we could fully enjoy the moment.
We were lucky to be able to work with Ashley. She was a dream and such a positive influence on our wedding planning. 11/10 we would recommend her! -

Hiring Ashley was the best decision we made for our wedding!
We found Ashley Brantner from First Pick Planning as she was listed as a recommended vendor for our venue (Palisades). Let me just say hiring her was the best decision we made!! We interviewed 3 planners total, and Ashley stood out the most as she was very friendly, professional, and she had done a ton of weddings at Palisades, so we knew we were in good hands. We also just vibed with her the most and she felt like a friend during the whole process. We never felt stressed, and she kept us on track from the time we hired her up until to the end of our wedding night.
We started working with her about 9 months before our wedding and hired her for partial planning (24 hours) which was perfect for what we needed. She helped us curate the most perfect vendor team which was what we wanted the most help with. During the process of picking out our vendors, she would give us 3-5 options with details and examples of their work and then coordinated calls with each of them. She then did all the behind the scenes coordinating with the vendors, so we didn't have to stress with constantly responding to vendors and could focus on other aspects of planning the big day.
We unfortunately ended up having to switch our venue to the plan b location due to weather conditions and Ashley really stepped up and made sure we didn’t have to lift a finger the day of the wedding. She was even there as a shoulder to cry on as I was a bit emotional with the change of events, but she constantly reassured us how perfect the day was going to be, and she did not disappoint. From the moment we arrived, she had drinks handed to us to calm our nerves and made the day go by so seamlessly. We had the BEST time working with her and we can’t recommend her enough. If you are on the fence of hiring a planner – DO IT! You will ultimately hire vendors and spend money on your wedding, but if you want your mind at ease and your wedding day to be perfect, you need to hire Ashley! 10000% worth it!

We loved working with Ashley Brantner at First Pick Planning!
Ashley Brantner was our wedding planner for our June 2024 Lake Tahoe wedding. She is amazing and we would recommend her to all of our family and friends. So many of our guests commented that they love our planner. Throughout the entire planning process, she was kind, patient, fun, funny, joyful, offered great ideas and solutions, and just went above and beyond every step of the way. We really felt that all the vendors we chose were perfect and Ashley really stood out among them, which says a lot. Notably, Ashley got along great with all of our vendors, and it seemed like they considered each other friends - her strong relationships helped things go smoothly. She kept her eye on the prize throughout the entire process, knowing that the day goes by so quickly. There were countless little details she took care of on the big day. I really don't know how she had time to do it all. She did lots of little things for us - like show us the dining area before all the guests arrived so we could see what it looked like. We just love Ashley and would be happy to recommend her to anyone. And the whole team at First Pick (including Jen) were great to deal with. It's a great team. -

A wedding must!
Highly recommend Ashely! She helped us with planning and all the last minute to do list! She took a lot of stress and concerns off of us which allowed us to enjoy the special day together. Amazing Experience with Ashley and First Pick
We had Ashley do our planning for our summer wedding in Petaluma CA. The whole process was smooth and seamless. Contracting with First Pick was easy and they answered all of my questions quickly. They were flexible to find a plan that worked with our budget. Once we were placed with Ashley, she was on top of every single detail. She’s organized and professional. She was reassuring and checked in very often to make sure we were on track. The wedding day went smoothly and I knew Ashley and her assistant were on top of everything so that my husband and I could sit back and relax.
I would absolutely recommend Ashley and First Pick for an amazing planning experience! They make your life so much easier so that you can truly enjoy this special time! -

Best decision we made for our wedding, hands down
We hosted our wedding at Palisades Tahoe in November. I decided to work with Ashley because I knew she had worked at this venue multiple times before and knew how to handle its complexities (1. all vendors have to load in and out on a gondola, and 2. if the weather changes, the gondola can't safely operate and your wedding will be at another venue at the base.)
From the first conversation, I felt like I was in solid hands with Ashley, who prepared me for all possible outcomes because she has worked this venue so many times before. We were about a month out from the wedding when I first engaged Ashley, and she quickly took over all vendor communications and made everyone feel totally prepared and comfortable with the venue & plan.
24 hours before the wedding day, we got the news that an incoming storm meant we had to change venues. Ashley stepped in and went above and beyond -- she replanned our whole wedding to be in the new venue at the base, and when I showed up at the venue I couldn't believe how she had worked with the vendors to make it all more beautiful than I could have imagined. Our day was perfect and seamless, and we got to be completely present because all the details and chaos were handled by Ashley.
Throughout the whole process, Ashley handled everything with a total "let's make it happen", positive attitude, was so organized and helped make the chaos of wedding planning feel so much easier. Ashley is also very well connected -- she was able to get a local vendor to the new venue last minute for pipe & drape, and was able to make last minute changes to linens because she has such good relationships up here in Tahoe.
Ashley was literally our wedding's fairy godmother, we couldn't have done it without her and I couldn't recommend her more highly for your wedding!! -

Above and Beyond Planning + Coordination!
We hired Ashley as our wedding day coordinator for our wedding in Lake Tahoe (at Everline Resort and Spa FKA Resort at Squaw Creek) this past June and we were absolutely blown away by the quality of service that we received. We started working with Ashley about a month out from our wedding day, and from that point, she not only took over all the communication with our vendors but also helped us create to a flawless timeline that both met our desires (to enjoy our cocktail hour, actually eat dinner, etc.) and logistically worked out with the elements we wanted in our day. Throughout this month of planning process, Ashley was incredibly responsive and helpful with last minute decision-making. When it came to the day-of, I cannot praise Ashley and the team enough. Our event went off without a hitch and I did not have a worry in my mind the whole day. We had some complicated music asks for our ceremony and a TON of personal decor to setup, and Ashley and her team executed it all without hesitation. She even went above and beyond to bring us appetizers & drinks throughout the event, helped my mom bustle my dress, went up to our room to get us things that we forgot during the reception, packed all of our decor back into my parents hotel room at the end of the night, and countless other remarkable acts that were completely above and beyond what we expected. We also just had the best time working with her day of, as she was so positive, so fun to be around, and had the most can-do attitude ever. We can't praise Ashley and her team enough for the phenomenal day she helped create for us. Thank you FPP! -

High Recommend First Pick Planning
I had the pleasure of working with Jen from First Pick Planning. I cannot praise her and her team enough for the work they did on our wedding. Jen was an absolute rockstar. She really took the time to understand the vision for our dream wedding. She was very easy to work with, organized, creative and professional.
Throughout our wedding planning process, when any issue would come up, Jen would be the first person to jump in and make recommendations and provide solutions. We had a vendor call out the night before our wedding and Jen immediately jumped in with replacement vendor options. We were very impressed and so grateful for her.
If you are looking for a wedding planner to go above and beyond to make your wedding special and unforgettable, I highly recommend working with Jen and First Pick Planning. -

Ashley was wonderful!
My only regret was not bringing Ashley into our planning process sooner! She worked with us as our day of coordinator at a complicated venue (accessible only by a tram on a mountain) and made sure the day ran seamlessly. Not only did she keep everyone (vendors & guests) on track on the day of, she even bustled my dress and fixed my hair at one point and brought one of her own stools from her house for our officiant as a last minute request. Ashley was also full of good ideas and solutions whenever I had any questions or concerns and anticipated problems before I even thought of them. Can't recommend Ashley enough! -

One of the best decisions I made during wedding planning
Ashley stepped in and helped me with the wedding planning a month prior. I had an absolutely insane amount of work leading up to the wedding and I basically dropped the ball and handed everything to Ashley. Since then, everything was smooth sailing. She took over all the vendor communication and coordination and there was no hiccups that I had to step in and sort out.
On the day of the wedding, I was a happy bride. Ashley was energetic and yet so composed. Made sure everything was on time and coordinated. Again, I honestly had nothing to worry but follow her lead and I had so much fun at the wedding thanks to her. One of the best decisions that I made! -

Excellent Experience
First Pick Planning, specifically Ashley Brantner, who was our day-of coordinator, was nothing short of a miracle worker! We had our wedding at Berkeley City Club, and Ashley went above and beyond in helping us navigate the venue & vendors, and made sure that all the details were executed to perfection. She made sure everything ran smoothly so that we did not have a single thing to worry about during the wedding, and were therefore able to fully enjoy ourselves. Her easy-going but reassuring manner is what sets her apart. We felt like she really cared about our wedding as much as we did, and that's something truly special. 100/10 would recommend! -

My dream planning experience from start to finish
Working with Ashley and First Pick Planning was without a doubt the best decision we made in the entire wedding process. Planning an Indian wedding can be complicated with multiple days of events -- but planning a destination Indian wedding in Tahoe brought all kinds of unique benefits and challenges. In addition to being professional, positive, responsive, enthusiastic, talented and everything else, Ashley's biggest strength above all is her incredible flexibility. Our wedding changed in scope and size significantly over the course of 20 months and Ashley took everything in stride. Her ability to make the best and find the best in every single situation was not only so reassuring throughout the process, but enabled us to pivot on all kinds of last-minute changes during the week and weekend of the actual wedding. Both my husband's family and mine absolutely adored and fully trusted her, which made it possible for all of us to fully unplug and just be in the moment. We couldn't be more grateful to have found Ashley and cannot recommend her more, especially for destination and/or cultural weddings! -

Ashley is the Best!
We can not say enough good things about working with Ashley and First Pick Planning. We had Ashley has a our wedding planner, who helped us plan our everything from finding a venue, to booking our band, florist, deciding on decor, and photographers, while walking us through everything we need leading up to our wedding and during the day of. Ashley and First Pick made the process of planning very easy and help keep us on track with timelines and deadlines, while helping give us both vendors they have worked with as well as vendors they hadn’t worked with to give us options that we would be happy with. Having Ashley as our wedding planning was amazing and the best decision we made as she is very detailed oriented and was on top of coordinating everything with our venue and vendors leading up to and day of our wedding. Ashley was always willing to provide more options for us whether it was venues, florist, photographers or any other vendors and we couldn’t be more appreciative of her dedication and hard work. Amazing Experience!
Where to begin…It was an absolute honor to have Ashley be our coordinator for our wedding! She exceeded every expectation and was our rock through the entire process. She was very organized, easy to work with, sympathetic to our concerns, attentive to detail, and motivated to ensure we had the day of our dreams. But above all else, we established a level of trust with Ashley that made every other part of the planning process much less stressful. Due to various weather-related issues, we were unable to see our venue before our wedding day, meaning that we had to trust that Ashley would bring our vision to fruition. Without that trust, we do not think our Wedding Day would have been as amazing as it was. Ashley was able to communicate to us exactly how our venue layout would look and what we needed to plan for to ensure we had the perfect day. And don’t get us started about the actual Wedding Day. Ashley was cool, calm and collected the entire day, and that energy flowed through to us, allowing us to enjoy the day even with all the potential stressors going on in the background. We simply cannot thank Ashley enough for everything she did, we are so grateful. We strongly recommend Ashley for any event you may be planning! -

We loved working with Ashley!
Wedding planning can be intimidating with plenty of large plans that can be difficult to fathom and plenty of small details that pop up along the way. But Ashley made the whole wedding planning process not only comfortable, but exciting. Ashley came recommended by our band, and we couldn't be more grateful!
She was great as our communicator between different parties and vendors; she made all of the information, the timeline, and our own schedule easily accessible. Furthermore, weddings can be high-pressure environments but never once did Ashley lose her cool- not even when our wedding cake took a small spill! She greets each challenge with confidence and lets you know you’re in good hands. When we felt we needed more guidance, Ashley readily made herself available to guide us through our final walkthrough allowing us to breathe a little and actually feel excited for the big day. -

I really can't say enough great things about working with Ashley at First Pick. In a time when there are more weddings than ever, a pandemic, and a million other things going on – she made this process as easy and stress-free as possible. Not only did she go above and beyond with her communication and organization, I felt like she really took the time to "get" us as a couple and that was clearly reflected in the end result of our wedding. The big day went off without a hitch and we left feeling like everything went perfectly, not a single note. What a dream! Stop looking and just book Ashley already! -

Literally Perfect!
I had the extreme pleasure of hiring Ashley Brantner with First Pick Planning for my recent wedding, and I must say it was the best decision i could have made for the wedding as a whole!
For some background, I have worked for over 20 years in live event production, and in a former career was in the wedding industry as well! Ashley's attention to detail, guidance, proactive approach to planning, and expertise all coincide to create an incredible experience for anyone that may need help planning their event. Ashley provided detailed timelines, a workback schedule, ensured we were on track for all of our deliverables, and was always ready at a moment's notice to jump in and ensure we didn't let anything fall through the cracks.
On the day of, I really just had to show up. From there, Ashley had everything in hand, and the day went as perfect as possible. No detail, large or small, was left unaccounted for. Not only did Ashley ensure that everything went off without a hitch, Ashley ensured that when we had any questions, issues, or needed literally anything, she had it covered and that it would not impact our enjoyment of our once in a lifetime event.
Overall, I cannot recommend Ashley's services enough. I have been an event producer for over a decade now and can say with some authority that Ashely is not just good, but absolutely incredible at what she does - and will absolutely call her again for any future event planning needs! -

Plan your wedding and have fun doing it!!
Ashley was so great to work with as we were planning our wedding. She made a normally stressful process easy and fun. She not only was incredibly responsive through the year of planning but worked seamlessly with our vision for a mountain wedding! Ashley provided professional opinions on budgeting, decor, vendors, etc. From phone calls, google docs, timeline and emails, Ashley was on it and kept our planning on track and never felt overwhelming. Our wedding day and planning was truly perfect and it wouldn’t have been the same without her! Honestly, if I could, I would want Ashley to plan other parts of my life :) -

Fantastic Planning!
Jen is an outstanding wedding planner, and I 100% recommend hiring her and the First Pick Planning team!! She is professional, responsive, detail-oriented, creative, and incredibly fun and easy to work with. We decided on a destination wedding in Lake Tahoe which was challenging since we lived on the East Coast, but she was there every step of the way to help us through the process. She went the extra mile to make sure that every single event (from rehearsal dinner to Sunday brunch) went smoothly so that we never had to spend a moment of our wedding weekend worrying about the details. -

Saved my wedding!
Ashley went above and beyond on my wedding day!!! She basically made my wedding happen. After having to postpone for a year due to COVID, my wedding was almost canceled due to the smoke in Tahoe. When I found out I would no longer be able to get married at my original venue at the top of Northstar, she and Jen pulled out all the stops to make the new location still the wedding of my dreams. They spent all day redecorating and calling everyone in the area to help them out. Even before the craziness of the big day, Ashley helped keep me at ease during the entire planning process. Knowing that during my big day someone else would be dealing with the vendors, clean up, and any other drama really helped keep me calm and focused on just enjoying myself! I am so thankful I had a wedding planner and even more thankful I had First Pick Planning!-

Ashley is an incredible wedding planner!
Ashley is an incredible wedding planner! She was our day-of-coordinator for our wedding day. She was very experienced, responsive and caring! She helped us to plan all the details for the wedding day and took care of the timeline and managed all vendors to make our wedding as we planned. We had different places for the ceremony (UC Botanical Garden) and reception (Berkeley City Club). There were a lot of ups and downs leading up to the wedding day but she was such a great help in the process, and especially for the wedding day! We could have easily hired her for the full-wedding planning. We highly recommend her if you are getting married in the Bay Area.

Best decision!
We would recommend Jen and First Pick Planning wholeheartedly. We stumbled upon her after an online search as we wanted someone who had previously worked our unique venue. The next day our contact from the venue itself recommended her. Then we met her for an interview and she opened a timeline google doc and we knew it was meant to be.
Throughout the whole planning process (almost a year), I kept joking that if it wasn't for Jen, we would be eloping. It wasn't really a joke, it is actually true. It was both our first wedding and the whole process is very overwhelming, neither of us had planned something of this scale. As we are both fully employed with jobs which don't allow for weeding planning during the day, we chose the Full Planning Service. It was absolutely worth it. Jen guided us along the way and connected us with professional vendors. She brought our vision to reality.
The day of our wedding also went off without any major hitches and all of our guests had a great time. Most importantly, we loved the finished product. Jen went above and beyond for us. At one point, we even gave her the key to our apartment, so clearly, she is highly trustworthy. Jen truly was enthusiastic and at many times felt we were her only client, especially the week of. Jen was very reasonably priced when compared to the market for LA weddings. We would definitely recommend her for any wedding, anywhere!
Jen is professional, organized and she is very nice.

The decision to work with First Pick Planning was without a doubt one of the absolute best choices we made in regards to our wedding!! Wedding Day Management with Ashley made the planning process MUCH more enjoyable, efficient and organized. She made my life SO much easier and helped me think of many tiny details that I otherwise may not have (what cake cutting knife were we using? what song did we want played during times of the reception I hadn't thought of? do we have signs for the bars? etc etc). We originally decided to use a Day of Coordinator/Wedding Day Coordinator at the advice of our venue; but, now having gone through the entire process, I can't imagine not working with a coordinator. It made all the difference in the world! I live on the East Coast & our wedding was in Lake Tahoe, so organization and communication was key throughout planning. Ashley is the epitome of organized and "on top of it" and helped with so many things: our day of timeline, communication with ALL of our vendors, organization of the entire wedding day, referrals for vendors, transport of signs/decorations between the ceremony and reception...I could go on & on. She also has a wonderful & warm personality, was a joy to work with and get to know as a person, & was cool and calm throughout the entire wedding day (which helped everyone else stay relaxed!)!! Lastly, Ashley went totally above and beyond by helping to set-up our reception center pieces, move decorations, make last-minute decisions & helps with our floral arrangements. I would recommend her & First Pick to ANYONE getting married in California and beyond. First Pick Planning was the easiest and BEST DECISION we made while planning our wedding. Working with Ashley was an absolute dream and she managed to match both mine and my husbands personalities perfectly (Which can be difficult :) ). The planning portion was so efficient and clear. When you start planning your wedding it can seem like you'll never be able to accomplish everything. Ashley kept us ahead of schedule and by doing so allowed us to pick the vendors we actually wanted. The day of the wedding was really where I was blown away. I'm a complete control freak and Ashley looked me dead in the eye and said "I've got this, just focus on getting married!" I was at ease instantly and just allowed myself to be present for the best day of my life. If there were any hiccups or issues, I never heard about it. First Pick truly made the wedding of our dreams and I can't gush enough about them. USE THEM FOR YOUR WEDDING! -

First Pick Planning is amazing! At first, I was hesitant in hiring a day of wedding coordinator due to the rising costs of the wedding but since a lot of my friends said it's very necessary for at least the wedding day, I started shopping around. My husband travels a lot and Jen was very accomodating in meeting with us twice so that he can meet her. Not only was Jen there for the wedding day but was also there for my email questions as mundane as what hotel do you think I should go to? Do you think that's expensive?..She even offered to call her contacts to see if she can get a better price. Jen and her team made my wedding day not only beautiful but so stress-free that I was actually able to enjoy the day. I told them my vision and provided the decor. When I came into the reception, it was so much better than I had envisioned! They even were able to pick up desserts for the dessert table the day of the wedding and I stupidly forgot the pants to my Vietnamese ao dai (traditional dress) and they were able to pick it up at the hotel. First Pick Planning was very worth the money and this is coming from a cheapo. lol. -

My husband and I hired Emma Seitz and she orchestrated the wedding of our DREAMS. I have no reservations recommending her work enthusiastically; you would be so lucky to have her plan your wedding! Whatever it is, she's ON TOP OF IT--I don’t think she forgot a single wedding-related idea I ever mentioned. If you’re asking yourself whether a professional coordinator or planner is worth the money—YES, for Emma and the First Pick Planning team, every penny and then some!!!
For starts, she gave us (multiple) referrals for just about every vendor we hired, and she saved us money at every possible turn. Honestly, she made the planning process so easy, she helped us keep the whole thing well within our modest budget, and when the day-of came, our wedding. was. perfect. Partly because I got to marry the love of my life and all that, but also because Emma is a magician.
We didn’t make it easy on her, either. Our (gorgeous) venue was entirely outdoors—no refrigeration, limited parking, very few electrical outlets, even. Emma made it work. On top of that, I wasn’t the most organized bride; Emma would send me the friendliest little guilt-free nudges and reminders, to help me stay on top of things. She kept us moving along our planning-timeline while being very understanding of our busy lives, and as often as you hear people say wedding planning is a nightmare, Emma made it easy and fun. She’s clearly very knowledgeable about wedding history, customs, and traditions, which was helpful, but never put the slightest pressure on us to conform to anyone’s dream wedding but our own. She was great with all our parents, our family and bridal party all loved her, and we had the happiest day of our lives and didn’t have to worry about a thing because Emma was on it. A+, 5 stars, 10 out of 10. Happiest bride in the world. Hire Emma.

JEN IS THE BEST. Sorry for the yelling, but seriously, Jen is the best. Everyone always tells you that things will go wrong on your wedding day, and to expect that it won't be perfect. Well, my wedding at Center for the Arts Eagle Rock was perfect, and that is completely thanks to Jen at First Pick Planning. She held our hands through every stressful moment of the planning process and through every blissful moment of the big day. Her vendor recommendations were so spot on, it's like she was reading our minds. She seems to know everybody in the wedding biz, and can tell you who is amazing and who isn't. Though we were on a budget, we felt like every dollar we spent was well spent.
My (now) husband and I were pretty clueless about how this whole wedding thing worked. We had questions like: Why do you need a DJ? How much does it cost to get 100 people tipsy? What else do you need to get married besides two people in love? Etc. She was endlessly patient and absolutely the best investment we made toward our mutual happiness and sanity.

While planning our wedding, I started to feel overwhelmed. I did NOT want my friends and family to be in charge of set up and breakdown on our big day. We booked Sarah for day of coordination. First Impression? We LOVED her!! The first time we talked wedding, she was in the midst of planning her own out of state wedding and we were able to share our experiences. This connection made it easier to plan our wedding and her wedding hardly interfered with ours as we were still able to communicate. Since we were out of state, Sarah went above and beyond to help our day go smooth. Being booked as a day of coordinator, she went out of her way and drove from Long Beach to Temecula to meet me and my husband during our details meeting as it was the only time we were able to meet in person before our big day. She even volunteered to stop by my moms house to look over the decor. The day of our wedding went smooth. Sarah and her crew setup and we fallowed the schedule Sarah created. Everything seemed to be on time. We enjoyed the frequent check in's she made while we were getting ready. My husband and groomsmen even enjoyed her company on our big day. They loved having her around, saying she was so nice and helpful. Our day had no hiccups (if there were any, I didn't know about them). Sarah returned the next day before 10am to help pack all of the supplies. We honestly couldn't have done it without her. I recommended her for our cousins wedding and they love her just as much! Besides her organization and communication skills, Sarah's best quality is how nice and personable she was with everyone. My family and wedding party have raved about how great she is and still mention her when we reminisce about our wedding. -

I'm giving First Pick Planning 5 stars because they truly were a good company to work with for my wedding. I met Sarah during my initial consultation meeting and I instantly knew that she would make for a great wedding planner! She's got a fun and bubbly personality and it shows that she loves what she does. She's also very enthusiastic and although she's young, she had enough experience under her belt for me to choose her. I was happy that she was familiar with the Catholic ceremony too since that's what we were going to have. It seems like she had seen it all! During the planning process she was very responsive to emails. We were in constant contact, even with texts and calls. She would inform me of everything and was pretty good at calming an anxious bride like myself. She did everything in her power to give us the wedding we wanted while still making an effort to keep us within budget. She made sure everything ran smoothly and didn't pressure me into making any decisions whatsoever. She handled everything for me and all I had to do was tell her what I wanted and she would make it happen. Also if something did go wrong, she would be on the ball and try to fix it. We had a couple mishaps along the way from wedding invitations to the limo services being sub-par. She went ahead and volunteered to put all my invitations together for me and mail them out. And she spoke with the limo vendor and was able to refund us half the cost. On our wedding day reception she was also super flexible with the timeline. Initially I didn't want to do a bouquet toss or garter toss but we were able to add that to the program last minute with no problem. My family even noticed the good job she did during the reception and commented how seamless she made everything. Working with her and her team was truly an enjoyable experience and it made our day stress free. They're truly there for you and they work hard to make sure your day is a success. -

To truly capture what an incredible difference Emma at FPP made for our wedding would require a novel-length review. She is worth her weight in gold, and was the best investment we made during the entire wedding planning process.
My husband David and I were lucky enough to work with Emma Seitz of FPP as our day-of coordinator. That title is a little misleading; Emma felt like a month-of coordinator!
I had done a lot of the work beforehand, and was lucky to be using lots of friends as my vendors. Emma had the perfect touch with everyone. Every question was answered, and she somehow psychically sensed what I needed before *I* even knew it.
My biggest goal for my wedding was to have a day that was full of love and happiness, and a BIG part of that was ensuring that things ran smoothly so that our parents, bridal party and, um, us, could enjoy the day and be in the moment, knowing that the details were taken care of.
Emma was on top of everything, but never overbearing. She was incredibly organized, but also flexible. Every time we needed her, she was right there, but not even slightly pushy. And she is one cool customer: I never, ever saw her flustered.
There are so many "unknown unknowns" during a wedding. Emma asked questions we would have never even thought of, then proceeded to execute the wedding of our dreams.

We hired First Pick to coordinate our Observatory Elopement and our Reception in Georgia. I can't imagine a better experience. My now husband and I wanted to have a private ceremony at the Lick Observatory in Mt. Hamilton, CA and then 6 months later surprise our friends and family with a wedding film of the whole experience. First Pick Planning was an excellent choice on my part. I found them through the LA Bridal Expo end of last year. We clicked and the affair was absolutely wonderful. All who attended our wedding raved about the details, band, food, flowers and the atmosphere created by what I and my husband wanted for the celebration. There were no last minute glitches I was told to expect. Emma Seitz who worked with us from First Pick Planning was very professional, very organized and willing to do the wedding we wanted not what was expected or the fad of the day. Jen is very professional and we could tell she takes great pride in her company and wants to make sure her clients are happy. Our wedding was beautiful and I can actually say it was just as I imagined it would be! We have no complaints. Sarah was the one who worked on our wedding and her attention to detail and her knack for creating a detailed, minute by minute timeline was so impressive. Her planning skills definitely helped keep our wedding on track. We didn't have to worry about a thing because we knew that Sarah was on top of everything and we were able to enjoy our beautiful day at the Sky Room in Long Beach. Sarah was also wonderful about responding to all of my emails and her energy calmed my nerves and she made me feel like everything was going to be fine and it was! Everything flowed perfectly and more importantly, everyone had a great time! -

First Pick Planning:
My husband and I found out about Jen Burgmark and her team through the Newhall Mansion's preferred vender list. Right after we met her we knew that we liked her and wanted her to coordinate our wedding.
Believe me when I say she went far above and beyond all our expectations. She is very down to earth, easy to talk to, and would always responded to my emails immediately, even at 3:00 in the morning when I could sleep. On the day of everything was set up exactly how it was suppose to with minimal instruction. Family members and other guest commented on how smoothly everything went. Jen and her team were very nice and professional to everyone and did such a good job that it made the night feel magical. One of my aunts came up to me and expressed concerns that she thought Jen was too young and therefore unexperienced, but by the middle of the reception my aunt was running up to me to say she totally underestimated Jen and her team and that they did an amazing job! Even my husband, who likes to do everything himself felt comfortable letting her take control.
The girls at First Pick Planning are amazing people and excellent at what they do. We are very fortunate to have found them because they helped make our wedding incredible! -

Jen is absolutely AMAZING!!! She is so pleasant to have on your side In such a stressful time! Anytime there was a hiccup she would have a solution within 20 minutes! Her calmness helps keep you at ease but when u need authoritative behavior she can quickly jump into that role as well! Both sides of the family where so pleased with her. The value for what she offers is unreal. I thought it was to good to be true!! She stayed till 4 am cleaning and xame back the following day to make sure all loose ends where handled so I could thoroughly enjoy my honeymoon!! U need JEN!! And her team for your day! -

Jen Bergmark from First Pick Planning was our event coordinator for our wedding on 11/01/2014 and she was an absolute Godsend! Jen and I had been corresponding through email and text throughout a great majority of the wedding planning process. She gave me great advice on booking vendors, timelines, and helping us work out any issues that came up. Three days before the wedding we discovered that the venue installed a huge mosaic on the wall where we were planning to display our monogram light that we paid $300 for through our DJ. None of the other walls really worked as far as good visual placement but the mosaic was permanent so there wasn't much we could do. Jen shopped around for pipes and draping that we could possibly use to cover up the mosaic and still illuminate the monogram light, but unfortunately it was too last minute and there was nothing within a reasonable budget. So Jen was able to get us a refund on what we paid for the monogram from the venue since they installed it without any notification or forewarning. Jen really went above and beyond for my husband and I, going so far as to find a phone charger for my husband, sent her assistant to our apartment when he forgot his shoes, and even found him a unicorn at the end of the night when he jokingly asked for one! Jen and her assistant Sarah were both extremely thorough and professional with not only all our friends and family but also all of our vendors. Hiring these ladies was honestly the best decision we made in all of our planning process! -

Hiring first pick planning was the best decision I made in the entire planning process of our wedding. I was a diy bride with lots of ideas and lots off tasks. I felt overwhelmed with so much detail, but once I had Sarah on board I immediately felt a big sense of relief. I felt like the planning went from my hands to a professional. What I loved the best was that she never steered me away from my vision. She always added greater ideas and was so helpful in getting my ideas to come to life. Sarah and Jen were always so sweet, even when things came up (which they will at weddings like unexpected guest) they handled every situation perfectly. Our wedding looked so beautiful, just the way I pictured it, the way I asked them to set up and they even added nicer touches. I had complete trust in them. I could write a book on how great they were. Best assistance I could have ever asked for. I couldn't have picked a better set of gals ;) 5stars plus!

To any bride-to-be, I HIGHLY recommend joining forces with the lovely ladies of First Pick Planning! Seriously, do yourself a favor and bring these ladies on to make your wedding day run smoothly and make it the most magical day of your life.
I personally met with Jen and Sarah and right from the very first meeting (they came out of their way to meet with myself and mother in Huntington Beach which was so nice of them) and felt how passionate they are about making a wedding day run smoothly with no hiccups.
Sarah went above and beyond with contacting me with all the little details (not in an overwhelming way) and was in constant contact with all our vendors (DJ, baker, caterer, floral and bar, priest, photographer, videographer). She made sure everyone was on the same page and all the small things you never think of as a bride-to-be she would take care of.
The day and night of the wedding ran extremely well and within the timeline she planned out. She went above and beyond; from helping myself, bridesmaids and my mother put together all the napkins before the rehearsal the day before the wedding to making the big day run fabulously by instructing another awesome day of coordinator (Amy) to run out to buy more champagne during our reception.
I will never be able to thank these ladies enough for making me feel like my lifelong friends were helping me put together one of the biggest days of my life. I love you girls! -

We had originally signed up with another planning service, but they had let us down so much. Feeling lost and frustrated we went looking all over and interviewed plenty of planners before picking Jen and boy, what a relief. Everything was perfect and it was no easy task. Our wedding was to incorporate both Armenian and American traditions and it was done perfect. We could not thank Jen enough for all the time and care for making our special day unforgettable. -

If you’re getting married, hire Jen and her team as your planners. You will be in safe hands.
My husband told me to hire a planner early on; however, I thought I could do everything on my own. I was wrong. Two inevitable meltdowns later, I started scouting the wedding world for planners. I vetted at least a dozen planners, none which impressed me and then I found Jen. One afternoon I met Jen at a Starbucks near my home and it was like we had been lifelong friends. We went through the progress of all of my DIY planning to-date and she provided opinions on how to improve my ideas, citing tons of examples of what she had done/seen in the past. She quickly demonstrated that she was the expert which I appreciated that after a long search. Throughout the process, she made herself available, promptly responded to emails, and continued excellent service up until the day of the event. Then, the day of the wedding her and her team SHINED. My sister visited the venue during the setup, & noted that the planning team, “hustled” the entire time. When I arrived and got my first look of the space, it was more beautiful than I could’ve imagined. My hawk eyes then zoned in on that the bar which was a total clusterf**ck for the cocktail hour. We booked 2 bartenders but 1 had yet to show (we booked them outside of Jen’s reco). I pulled Jen aside to voice my concern and she pointed to one of her girls who was already on the phone trying to locate the missing bartender. They troubleshot the problem, got behind the bar and served drinks to our guests themselves. It was great to see the hustle in action. We had one obnoxious guest who was rude to several people at the party, including her staff (which mortifies me) but Jen’s team all handled it with poise and professionalism.
I can’t express how grateful I am to Jen and that we trusted her because I never felt that I had anything to worry about with her in charge. I could just enjoy myself which is the whole point of that day, right? -

As skeptics of the need for a wedding coordinator, we want to say that Jen was worth every penny and MORE! To be honest, we didn't want a wedding coordinator because we thought they were too expensive but our venue required a professional. We booked Jen because of the few we interviewed, her personality and skillset matched with ours perfectly. Jen was incredibly responsive to all our emails (there were MANY) and built good relations with all of our vendors and key wedding personnel. Most importantly, she built a great relationship with US. Afterall, you spend all day with your wedding coordinator - they better be someone that you like! Our wedding day was perfect with Jen's help and while not everything went as planned (it never does) she and her assistants adeptly managed the changing situations and nobody was the wiser! -

So you think you don't need a planner?? You are wrong! We hired Jen as our day-of coordinator but she was so helpful even before we committed to hiring her. I really feel that she gave us 110%. Her personality makes her a great coordinator because you feel like you are working with a friend. My husband and I both felt so lucky to have found her and booked her early on. Plus she had a wedding the day after ours but I never felt like she wasn't giving me her full attention on my wedding day. Jen was my personal cheerleader and brain (Wedding Brain is a real thing!) for the entire wedding experience. Just saying that she is amazing isn't enough. The day wouldn't have happened or have been as smooth or beautiful if it wasn't for her. My husband and I picked a location a good deal away from the city, and she was there buying Hay, organizing vendors, driving the mountain roads, responding to emails/phone calls AND helping me with DIY projects the night before the wedding...all with a huge smile on her face. Our entire family LOVED her and wanted to instantly adopt her into the family. I would recommend Jen to everyone and anyone. Hiring her was the best decision we made for our wedding, and as a Professional Wedding Photographer myself, I know how important it is to have a coordinator there to make things run smoothly. I'm a details person, and was covering my share of the details before Jen came on. Once she became our wedding planner, I was able to turn over all trust to Jen and let my mind be free of the worries and stress, never doubting the results. Looking back, I don't know how we could have planned/executed the wedding without her.
Additionally, she took what we wanted and added her own creative aspects to it, making for a unique San Franciscan wedding. We couldn't have had a better wedding! -

Jen Bergmark at First Pick Planning was absolutely incredible! With one week to go we realized that we needed ALOT of help and Jen came in at the last minute to save the day. She was so organized and helpful thinking about all of the little details and ensured that our vision was executed perfectly. On the day of, she was amazing to have by my side, running around doing last minute little things and ensuring that everyone was where they needed to be at the right time. We were people that did a lot of our wedding planning on our own and in retrospect I wish we had gotten Jen involved earlier. She really helped us to stay calm and relaxed in the finals days because she stepped in to take care of everything. She really went above and beyond and even made us a scrapbook to use for the pictures from the photo booth we rented and the scrapbook was awesome! She has an incredible ability to get things done quickly and efficiently and made our wedding look even more beautiful than I could have imagined. She worked phenomenally with all of our vendors and reached out to them on her own to introduce herself and share the wedding timeline so I didn't even have to think about coordinating anything! Not only is Jen professional and an excellent event planner she is also a caring and truly loving person. Jen was absolutely fabulous from day 1. I really considered her my angel. With little help from the hubby, she was my go to girl. I purchased the middle package and thought is was plenty of time for her to help me stay organized, go to meetings, contact vendors, assemble table numbers, etc. On the day of the wedding, Jen & her assistant were great. Everything went smoothly. After I expressed needing someone to check in with me every once in awhile, Jen & her assistant her on it! Jen stayed calm & pleasant even though I may have been a little bit short and snappy, mainly because I was stressed. She really was on top of everything. Jenn was our day of coordinator, and she is a superstar! She anticipated every problem and made sure the day went perfectly. We met several times before the big day, and she was always there to answer email questions as well. She set up all of our DIY decor (including floral centerpieces, lawn games, etc), coordinated with all the vendors to keep everyone on the timeline, got all the gifts and leftover decor packed into cars, and even made sure my purse was in the limo at the end of the night. She was absolutely amazing, and it's because of her that our wedding day was fun and stress free :) -

It took all of 20 seconds for me to know that first pick planning was right for Val and I. That was how long her pitch was when we first met Jen at the LA Wedding Expo in July of 2012. We had seen and heard from just about every vendor and were very tired of being sold or turned away because we didn't have enough money. Then we walked past Jen's booth and stopped because we hadn't spoken with any coordinators. Jen's 20 second pitch was very warm and inviting without jamming herself down our throats like the rest of the sharks there, and she didn't try to keep us any longer then those 20 seconds. I emailed her that night and told her our situation. She remembered us by name and really worked with us on the price, so we scheduled a meeting with her. We scheduled interviews with a handful of other coordinators as well so we could see what was out there but we met Jen later the next weekend and decided there was no reason meet with anyone else. She never gave us a reason to second-guess that decision. I found myself both sympathetic and yet highly critical of her position because I do the very same thing she does, just in a different field and not once did she disappoint. Jen is a very personable and friendly person, which is what Val and I were looking for in all of our vendors, but beneath that friendly demeanor is a great work ethic and sense of joy and pride in her work that drives her to deliver for her clients. Yet when faced with the egos that inevitably love to poke their heads out, she stands her ground for her clients and somehow keeps a smile on everybody's face. Needless to say, we were very pleased with Jen and her services and would whole-heartedly, without reserve, recommend Jen & First Pick Planning to anyone looking for Wedding and Event Planning Services. -

Hiring First Pick Planning was one of the best decisions I made during my wedding planning process. Jen Bergmark is so knowledgeable and organized about the entire wedding process. She met with me several times before my wedding and had an answer to every questions I had. She was always very responsive to my emails. Jen ran my rehearsal and made a schedule for everyone in the wedding party so they all knew when and where they were supposed to be on the big day. A friend of mine was supposed to supplies orchid blooms on the day of, but had a family emergency, so Jen went to the downtown flower market that morning and bought all the orchids I needed. She followed all of my instructions about decorating made sure everything looked amazing. She stayed late after the event and made sure that everything got cleaned up. I would highly recommend her services - there's no way my wedding would have gone so smoothly if it wasn't for her! -

With only about a month left until our wedding, I was frantically looking for a day of coordinator that would work with our long wedding day and that was fluent in Spanish. Luckily, my husband and I found Jen at a bridal show! She was a charm, very professional, and fit both requirements. She answered and clarified any questions I had in a timely manner. On our wedding day, she was able to tackle all situations that arose successfully along with her assistant Romie.
They were both very attentive, quick to act, creative, and above all a pleasure to work with. I felt as if I had my best friends along my side overseeing and taking care of all things that I had carefully planned for.
Thanks for many unforgettable moments leading to the very end of the night! ;) Many nerve wrecking moments were eased by sharing a laugh with you.

My (now) husband and I could not have loved First Pick/Jen more. Even better than that both moms loved her too. She was creative, efficient, fun, smart and sweet. She thought of everything we didn't have time to and truly made the wedding a relaxed and special event. She was also very responsive as well as clear and concise in her communications. Her plans were organized and easy to follow. In other words exactly what you would want in a planner. -

We were SO happy with our decision to hire a wedding coordinator and go with First Pick Planning. Jen was absolutely amazing.
