I cannot say enough wonderful things about my experience with Irina. She worked on not just my wedding dress, but also two additional traditional dresses I wore for different parts of my celebration, and every single piece came out absolutely perfect. From the moment I met her, I could tell how skilled and passionate she is about her craft.
Irina has an incredible eye for detail. She knew exactly how to tailor each dress to fit my body beautifully, while still preserving their original style and essence. My wedding dress in particular required quite a few alterations, and she handled every adjustment with care, precision, and so much expertise. The final result fit me like it was made just for me from the start.
What also stood out to me was how fast and accommodating Irina was throughout the whole process. She was always flexible with my schedule, patient with my questions and requests, and made me feel completely at ease. Even when timelines were tight, she worked efficiently without ever compromising on quality.
On top of her talent and professionalism, Irina’s pricing is very fair and affordable. Something that’s not easy to find when it comes to wedding and formal wear alterations. She truly goes above and beyond for her clients, and it’s clear she takes great pride in making sure you feel your absolute best in your dress.

Irina is simply THE BEST!
Irina is absolutely amazing! She does magic! I took my bridal gown and reception dress to her for alterations and she did a phenomenal job. The job wasn’t easy as we had to add fabric to the breast area but it ended up being so seamless and perfect. She also altered my mom’s dress last minute and saved us from a disaster. Personality wise, Irina is fantastic. So kind, patient, caring and friendly. Definitely recommend her to all brides. You cannot find a better tailor in the DMV area. I’m the third bride in my friend group to go to Irina and we all have been super happy with Irina’s services. -

Amazing Experience!!!
Working with Irina was an amazing experience!! One of my best decisions, without a doubt. I learned about Irina's work through a referral, and I am so glad I asked her for a consultation. From our very first meeting, it was clear she had incredible talent and vision. Irina took the time to listen to my ideas and discuss my style preferences, and then she created a sketch of my dress based on everything we had discussed. It was amazing to see her transform my thoughts into a stunning gown that perfectly captured what I was looking for in my wedding dress! In addition to my dress, I also wanted to have a long-sleeve topper to wear during my wedding ceremony which I could remove for the reception. Irina brought my idea to life, and created the perfect removable "jacket" to seamlessly match with the dress -- you couldn't even tell it was two pieces! It was a beautiful way to have two different bridal looks without having two different dresses.
Throughout the process of making the dress, Irina's attention to detail was remarkable. Every stitch, every layer of fabric, and every piece of lace was placed with such precision and care. The quality and beauty of her work is so much more than what I saw in bridal stores, even in upscale boutiques. She helped me select fabric, lace, and a veil -- all of which were gorgeous, and the perfect selections for the style and shape of my dress. She has created every kind of dress imaginable for brides with all different styles, and her wealth of knowledge was evident as we made each decision.
Working with Irina to create your wedding dress is such a special and personalized experience. She is attentive to you in ways that a bridal store and standard alterations can't be. Irina went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with every aspect of my dress, working through every detail with enthusiasm and professionalism. She is also such a delight to be around! It was an absolute pleasure to work with Irina!! I have always wanted to wear my mom’s wedding dress when I got married. Incredible work!
I found Irina on line and did not even realize how lucky I got to have a real professional to do my wedding dress alterations.
Irina has done an amazing job making my dress (full of handmade lace) couple sizes smaller. Not to mention the incredibly beautiful custom made veil!
I was looking for a cathedral length veil to be similar in style/ color to my dress. All I tried before were extremely heavy and I could not imagine walking in it. The shades of ivory/ off white/ champagne were also confusing. Irina was kind to offer to replace some flowers from my dress and make a veil for me. It came out exactly how I envision it.
My wedding was a destination one. And I would have probably ended up with a huge carry on, if not Irina’s help on packing it neatly into a smaller garment bag. It was easy enough to go to Europe with it and take several flights before we got to our destination.

Irina is an absolute wizard!
She had a huge impact on the success of my wedding and here are my 3 "Why's":
1. I bought my stunning wedding dress elsewhere knowing that it still needed some significant alterations to be my 100% dream dress. She worked with my vision, gave me her knowledgeable feedback and it just couldn't turn more amazing! She created a deeper V-neck, took in and took out where needed to complement my figure and double-bustled my breathtaking train. My dress was stunning on me and I felt like a star, all while being comfortable all wedding long!
2. Irina wasn't persuaded that the simplest, short veil I purchased with my dress was the route to go. She envisioned more dramatic look so she packed me a long veil "to go" to decide on the wedding day. Obviously I never looked back at the short one and yes, the pictures are truly special!
3. I had a last-minute bridesmaid change and my cousin who lives overseas stepped in as my new bridesmaid. The catch was she didn't fly in until the day before the wedding. Irina basically saw us as soon as my cousin landed and altered the dress I bought for her in less than an hour. She saved me from an anxiety attack and she really did a clean, beautiful work!
Irina is so smooth and seamless at what she does. She altered some of my clothes in the past before working on my wedding and rest assured I will be using her expert services in the future. I adore her work, she really is inspirational! And her pricing is really attractive; in fact I believe she cuts herself short.

Wedding Dress Magician!
After lots of online searching and multiple trips to various bridal salons, I was discouraged about wedding dress shopping. I had some ideas about dress shapes and possible fabrics, but I could not find anything like the vision in my head within my price range that could be ready in time (we planned the wedding in a 6-month window). A friend recommended Irina, another seamstress commended her work after looking through the portfolio, and we set up a consultation. During our conversation, she clarified the image and then set to work on finding the right materials (a lily of the valley floral with silk organza overlay), designing the dress (custom pattern), and then tailoring it over multiple fitting sessions, as she saw how it looked on me. Irina is creative AND she has an eye for details AND she has the skilled capability to bring the dream or the drawing to fruition. My fiancé (now husband) went with me to each of the sessions, and we agree that she exceeded our expectations. Thank you for helping to make our wedding day uniquely beautiful! -

How best to begin this review?? My goal is to convey as quickly as I can what a completely and utterly off-the-charts wonderful experience I had working with Irina!!! The following review will demonstrates that Irina is:
- A tremendously talented seamstress
- An outside-the-box thinker
- A creative problem solver
- Willing to try crazy ideas
- A quick worker
- Very responsive
- So very caring
We got in touch with Irina after my initial fitting with another well known, Philly-based seamstress went poorly. (In fact, I was so scared my wedding dress wouldn’t work out, I impulse bought a back-up dress from a resale app.) I was already running very low on time. Irina was one of the few professionals in the DC area that returned my call, talked through my concerns on the phone, and brought me in very shortly afterwards. I read other reviews, so I had no doubt she was a talented dressmaker. What impressed me was our three-hour creative brainstorming session to solve my strap issue AND adjust the look so that it was EXACTLY what I wanted!! I’m a graphic designer by trade, and a very visual person, so I really wanted visuals. And I had many, many different ideas. While I stood there in the dress, Irina was cutting extra lace, folding, and pinning left and right so we could see an idea come to life in front of us. Then, god bless her, she would do that all over again for a completely different idea! And SHE had some of the best ideas!!! It’s always so lovely to encounter a true creative. On top off this she was kind, caring, and very quick!! She saw me three times (in the span of a month) to make sure I was completely happy. She EVEN altered my back-up dress (which I ended up loving so much I wore it for dancing). PLEASE go see Irina, I promise you’ll be who happy you did!!! -

Irina seriously made my wedding dress dreams come true!!! She made 3 custom dresses and did alterations on one gown for my mom and I.
She altered my previously bought wedding dress perfectly - and gave me the most beautiful bustle. It was a hard dress to bustle and she made it simple and gorgeous. She also hand stitched a gorgeous pearl belt on it and then was able to make it so my long veil snapped to my train so it flowed beautifully behind me while I walked. I had no idea this was even possible! She also made me a blusher that I could use with or without my larger veil. It was the perfect addition to my ceremony and blended perfectly.
Irina also made me a beautiful rehearsal dress - we were able to come up with the big bow design together - she made last minute alterations on it when I wanted something changed and worked with me the whole way.
I first found Irina at one of her fashion shows and loved a dress I saw there but wanted a short version of it. She surprised me by letting me take that exact dress and totally remade it to a short a-line dress and then added the most beautiful details to turn it into my reception dress. It was just stunning - she knows how to find the best fabrics and walks you through the design process the entire time.
Finally Irina helped my mom who was in a dress emergency and made her from scratch the most gorgeous mother of the bride dress with a removable over skirt. Her designs are fun - they’re unique - they’re everything you want in a designer. She has an eye for what works well and what will look special. I wish Irina could make all my dresses from now on!!! She truly is a master and an artist. -

Irina is a goddess. She not only went out of her way to help me find something off of my mothers (deceased) wedding dress that was heavily damaged due to poor storage, but she cleaned the lace and added such a special touch to my dress. Hemming was a breeze in a couple sessions. Irina is also so detailed and meticulous that you know you can trust her with your wedding gown. My friend and wedding planner introduced me to Irina after my poor experience with bridal dress shopping in a pandemic. I sent Irina pictures of wedding dress styles I liked, and she happened to have a custom dress that she was planning to use for a fashion show. The dress fit perfectly and we worked together to make a few modifications to create the dress of my dreams. Irina not only made a custom gown for me, but she also created a custom bridal face mask and face masks for my entire bridal party. She made sure my dress and undergarments fit perfectly, and she was an absolute dream to work with. Her skills are out of this world. If you're looking for a gown, you want to work with Irina. -

If you are someone like me who reads reviews and is very selective before making a decision, please know that my review encourages you to go with Irinia for your custom dress needs. Irinia is very sweet and helpful and truly wants you to feel like you have the dress of your dreams. She only takes on a specific number of customers so that she can give every bride all of her attention. She has her studio in her home (covid-friendly because it is separate from the entire home), which makes it feel like a mom-and-pop shop (warm, special, and genuine). She not only was kind enough to put my dressmaking on hold due to the pandemic, but she also was always readily available for any questions or things I had changed my mind about with my dress. She never made me feel like I had to decide one way or another, she truly listened to me and always made the adjustments I would ask after trying it on. Irinia also was sweet to give me life advice when I went to see her such as keeping up with going to the gym and doing a hobby one loves to tame away the pandemic’s anxieties. She is truly like a family member with you working on your dress. I am so happy I went with her studio instead of a larger design company because I don’t think I would have received all the attention I did with Irinia. I can truly tell you, if you decide to go with Irinia, your end process will be having the dress of your dreams! Everyone absolutely loved my dress and most importantly, designing my dress with her, gave me the dress of my dreams. She even let me choose between 2 veils, with letting me bring back the one I did not use. She is so kind and throughout a process that takes months sometimes, you want to be working with someone who is kind. -

Top-tier work, fair price
Irina was referred to me from the seamstress that modify's my SIL's performance gowns. A seamstress recommending a seamstress — that's high praise. High praise that is assuredly deserved! I only needed the dressed hemmed, and she immediately identified other small alterations that would make my gown more wearable, which she completed without added charge. Her studio is bright, clean, beautiful, and inviting. She's a wonderful host. She does an excellent job explaining everything she does as she's doing it. And her pricing is extremely reasonable, in my opinion, especially considering the quality of the work. Oh, and did I mention that she made a lovely tie and pocket square from the extra material from my dress? Also priced very fairly. I couldn't recommend her more highly.

Amazing! Saved my dress for my wedding day!
Irina is truly a master at her craft. She stepped in with 10 days to go for my wedding when the seamstress working on my dress wasn't able to complete the job. She created a custom peek-a-boo pack and straps made with extra lace I had purchased. From the moment I spoke with her and showed her some inspiration, I could tell she instantly got my vision and she created the whole thing right in front of me the day I met her! She is a true professional and you can tell that she truly loves what she does. I cannot recommend her enough to any brides in the area who want a beautiful custom or altered gown. Also, her prices are extremely reasonable, especially given the quality of her work. -

I can’t say enough about Irina. I never wear dresses and being that I am a plus size, I knew I was not going to have a conventional wedding dress. But more than anything, I just didn’t want to feel self-conscious the entire day. The dress Irina made me came out better than I could have ever imagined. During our first meeting, Irina listened closely to the few ideas I had and intuitively made a few suggestions that seemed like she’d pulled them right out of my head. After a brief exchange of ideas, she launched into sketching and quickly had a design that embodied exactly what I wanted. She also made very astute suggestions based on her experience, her knowledge of the materials and her immeasurable creativity. Each fitting was productive, efficient and fun! Her lovely studio is lined with numerous masterpieces-in-progress displaying her talent and skill (her work easily rivals the designers in the fashion magazines), but adorning the walls are also pictures of her past creations modeled by happy brides on their wedding days, accompanied by glowing thank you notes from those of us who have been smart enough to hire her and lucky enough to be touched by her artistic gifts and kindness...and Irina is a genuinely kind person. When I saw my completed dress and tried it on, I cried almost as much as when, two weeks later, I said I do. -

The most beautiful veil!
I was not sure about a veil since my wedding is small. Then, when I went to Irina and she offered me a veil she told me it was going to be perfect for myself and my dress. And in fact, it is. This veil makes me feel beautiful, I think that is why Irina stands out, she focuses on what you want and how you feel, and make you feel very special. She is awesome! -

Wonderful and Professional
Irina did a wonderful job with minor alterations to my dress. She is very sweet and understanding. She also pays attention to detail and was able to fix my dress without any noticeable changes. She even did additional upgrades and repaired some buttons at no extra cost. I highly recommend her! -

Amazingly Skilled and a Joy to Work With!
Irina was an absolute joy to work with. She is friendly, easy to talk to, reasonably priced, and so good at what she does. She listens to your ideas and looks at your inspiration, but is happy to make suggestions based on her extensive knowledge. When I tried going to bridal salons, I always felt like they would say anything looked beautiful on me, until I said I didn't like something, then they agreed with that. They always agreed. With Irina, she always respects your ideas, but she is willing to tell you what she thinks will work best, which is so helpful. Her work is beautiful and she keeps you updated through everything. She is always quick to respond to questions as well. My mom and I have already recommended her to multiple people, and I would recommend her to anyone who wants a unique custom dress! -

My experience with Irina from the very beginning was wonderful! I came with a design in mind, but midway decided on something totally different. I ordered a wedding dress online and it came back beautifully but it didn't fit exactly right. I found Irina on thumbtack for alterations and she was fantastic! She responded to me very quickly and we were able to set up an appointment over text messaging for soon thereafter. At my first fitting I decided to by a corset and veil from her collection as well. She altered my dress and it fits like a glove now and she also added some embellishments that we agreed on. I am so much happier with my dress now and feel so special in it. I also needed something blue, so she made me the sweetest garter. I have referred her to my whole family for all their needs. She does custom clothes and alterations. I would reach out to her in the future for any of my upcoming needs as well. She is the sweetest, most hard-working lady! She will make your dreams come true. -
