WOW!! Highly Recommend!

I do not know where to even begin! We hired Exchange Events & Catering to cater our wedding and boy did they not disappoint! Not only was the food phenomenal, the staff was super friendly and responsive! The staff even made sure my husband and I had a warm plate made for us to make sure we ate! Our wedding day exceeded our expectations and a lot of that had to do with the professionalism and food from Exchange Events & Catering. We highly recommend! THANK YOU!

Well Done!

We used the BBQ Exchange for my daughter’s wedding 10/11/2025 at Mount Ida (Charlottesville). We’re from the DC area so this was a destination wedding. We picked the BBQ Exchange because we liked their menu pricing, flexibility, & that they offered full-service wedding coordination. Without even tasting their food, we booked after our first call with the coordinator, Jaclyn. She was beyond fabulous and easy to work with! The food was better than I imagined, especially when serving 130 people! We had passed appetizers, plated dinner service, & late night french fry snacks!

Book this company for your wedding! Simply awesome! Jaclyn was an excellent coordinator with tons of experience, confidence, and she was unbelievably calming & organized!

Catering Perfection

Exchange Events was the perfect caterer choice for our Keswick Vineyards wedding - we still have guests raving about our passed apps and the dinner. Both DeAndra and Jaclyn were a pleasure to work with from booking to our tasting and leading up to date of, and DeAndra made sure our friends and family had the best experience throughout cocktail hour and reception. No guest went thirsty or hungry, and the staff perfectly executed our signature drinks. During dinner service, guests were served promptly, and plates and wine glasses stayed full throughout.

We loved the apps at our tasting so much that we had to pick four - the hushpuppies, chimmichurri steak, hot honey chicken, and the lobster tostada were all DIVINE! I don’t think you can go wrong with anything you pick. Thank you to DeAndra and team for such a wonderful and well executed event, we had the wedding of our dreams.

THANK YOU Exchange Events! The Best

Jaclyn and Exchange Events are truly the BEST! I hope this doesn’t happen to anyone reading, but we had our wedding venue booked for a year (along with 90 percent of our other vendors) and found out suddenly that the venue was shutting down. Jaclyn notified me in the kindest way and calmed me down quickly with reassurance. She handled this crazy situation with grace and had the most amazing knowledge of the surrounding Charlottesville area to help us find a new venue (8 months out from our wedding date!) She contacted quite a few other venues for us and within 3 days, we had a new venue booked that still captured our vision and dreams.

As someone who is fairly “Type A”, Jaclyn allowed me to do as much on my own as I wanted with planning, but also was always a text or call away with my many questions! The monthly phone calls were also so helpful for me to stay on track with timelines.

When it came close to our wedding day (April in Virginia with an outdoor venue 🙃) I was very nervous about expected rain. Jaclyn again kept me reassured and knew the back up plans with great detail. The day of, it did look gloomy, but things ended up being great for ceremony time. The timelines, keeping 17 members of a wedding party in track, and communicating with all other vendors couldn’t have gone more smoothly. Everything was very efficient!!

FOOD- yum! We went with passed appetizers and a plated dinner. Everything was just as good from our tasting day. Dishes were passed out in a timely manner and clean up was pristine! The drinks were also fantastic and everything ended up better than I had imagined! Many people commented how fresh it was, and how much they enjoyed everything.

We are so happy we went with Exchange Events for catering as well as planning with Jaclyn. You would not go wrong with this decision!

Jaclyn is a star - look nowhere else

Exchange went above and beyond for our day, Jaclyn is truly a stand out professional that runs the company exceptionally. She made sure every moment was taken care of, feeding us and grabbing us drinks throughout the day, and truly taking all of the anxiety of the hosting away from this frazzled bride. The food was incredible, the service was A+ and they were flexible with all of our many changes. Highly recommend especially for any Type-A bride like me!

Wedding Caterer

It was a pleasure getting to work with Jaclyn from Exchange Events. Our tasting was wonderful and we received a lot of really great advice. Highly Recommend for Charlottesville Weddings!

Jaclyn provided our wedding planning services and Exchange Events catered the evening in September at Keswick Vineyards... I can't recommend their team enough! Working with them for a year plus felt seamless with minimal stressors and the day of was amazing. Jaclyn was on top of everything and really allowed the night to run seamlessly. The EE team provided great food/drinks to the party and we have heard tons of compliments on the cocktails, bartenders, wait staff, apps, and food.

Not only was the day of smooth and wonderful, Jaclyn also really helped me incorporate details during the planning which I wouldn't have necessarily imagined on my own, like the disco ball installation and black and white dance floor; truly one of my favorite details of the night!

The ULTIMATE wedding planner - Jaclyn and Exchange Events does it ALL. Jaclyn went above and beyond as our full-time coordinator, handling every detail from start to finish with absolute precision and grace. Not only did she coordinate every aspect of our day flawlessly, but she also catered our wedding through her incredible BBQ company, balancing both roles without a single hiccup. Shockingly, the BBQ on our wedding day was even better than our preview meal, which absolutely blew us away!

Jaclyn was calm, cool, and collected at every turn. She had the perfect recommendations for every need, and any question we asked came with thoughtful answers and immediate solutions. 100% Recommend Exchange Events & Jaclyn for your wedding

We used Exchange Events for our wedding in October 2023. Jaclyn and company were incredibly accommodating and helpful from the very beginning and throughout the entire process. We loved everything we tried at our tasting so it was hard to narrow it down for the wedding but Jaclyn had the best recommendations. We still dream about the vegetarian orecchiette dish we served at our wedding, it was that good! The food was truly a 10/10 but the greatest value in working with Exchange Events was in adding Jaclyn on as our planner. While her culinary expertise and advice was super helpful, her wedding planning skills, connections, composure, and responsiveness were what makes her the best choice for a wedding planner. We worked with Jaclyn for almost a year ahead of our wedding and whether it was 9 months out or 1 month out she was always available to answer our questions and address our needs. And believe me, we had a lot of questions (and needs)! On top of her organizational skills and professionalism, the most memorable part about our experience was how comfortable we felt on the day of our wedding with Jaclyn in charge. We’ve been a part of other weddings that were unorganized and stressful but with her we didn’t have to worry about anything. Multiple people told us how relaxed we looked on our wedding day and we 100% credit that to Jaclyn and her team. She was worth every penny!

Wonderful experience all around!

From the first phone call with Jaclyn, we knew we wanted Exchange to cater our wedding! We really connected with their menu and had such a fun time at the tasting. Exchange was more than willing to accommodate special requests and customizations. The food at the wedding was outstanding (we had many guests from up North who had never had a hushpuppy before - they're officially hooked)! We were especially grateful for the drinks and appetizers Jaclyn had waiting for the wedding party immediately after the ceremony - it allowed us to grab a quick bite and go mingle with everyone. The dinner service was executed quickly and flawlessly, too.

Jaclyn's industry knowledge was hugely helpful throughout the planning process. She connected us with a great beer distributor, assisted with rentals, and even helped us get "legally" married by a local sheriff. You will not regret hiring them!

HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Exchange Events catered our wedding last week, and it was perfect! We got rave reviews about the food, the service, and the timeliness. There are so many food options with Exchange, and they're also willing to help build whatever menu you can envision! Possibly the best part of working with Exchange is that we hired Jaclyn as our planner, which was also possibly the best decision of the whole wedding planning process! She was fantastic to work with from the very first phone call. We don't live in Charlottesville, so her help in planning a Charlottesville wedding was invaluable. She gave us great ideas and connected us with great vendors. She was able to manage some complicated family relationships. And our wedding day was FLAWLESS. Everything was just...handled. By Jaclyn. The best experience with Exchange Events & Catering!

10/10 would recommend. Jaclyn and her team at Exchange Events served our wedding of 230+ people with DELICIOUS food and drinks! Our experience with the Exchange team started off on a great note with an incredible tasting about 11 months before the wedding. We were treated to a wonderful meal with plenty of opportunities to taste different dishes and had trouble narrowing down the menu - everything was delicious. The catering experience on the day of was perfect - the professionalism of the staff was exceptional, and all of the food was outstanding. The corn hush puppies, the tuna skewers, the fall panzanella salad, the salmon - everything was a hit! The whole experience was lovely from start to finish. Don't waste time trying to find a caterer - Exchange Events & Catering is the best choice. And I can't end this review without absolutely raving about Jaclyn who is hands-down the best planner around. She's the type of person you want on your team - she's calm and collected in every situation, she's absurdly organized and always five steps ahead, and she's a pleasure to work with. I cannot recommend her more highly. Hiring Jaclyn as our planner was by far the best decision we made when choosing our vendors.

The food was so amazing!

We chose Exchange Events Catering for our October wedding and could not have been happier. They brought my husband's dream taco bar to life and were still able to put together a pulled pork bbq station with mac & cheese for me. The food was a hit! We received rave reviews from our families, and multiple people even told us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding! They managed to make delicious comfort food with an elegant, sophisticated presentation.

Furthermore, Jaclyn and her team were extremely reliable and communicative and they knew exactly how to work with our venue and other vendors. All of the staff, from the servers to cooks to bartenders were so professional. Do not hesitate to book Exchange Events, you will not be disappointed!

If amazing food & service is something you want for your wedding, look no further than Exchange Events. We booked them as a full service catering company + partial event planning (Jaclyn was instrumental) for our December '22 wedding and were absolutely thrilled with the outcome. Everyone was personable, professional, and accommodating. The food and cocktails that were created for us were incredible. Like, to the point where people are still complimenting us on the menu selection. Food was always a top priority for us on our wedding day & we were thrilled to have everything go off as smoothly as it did. While it is BBQ, it's an elevated form of BBQ that lends itself to formal events while still being comforting. I'm so glad Exchange Events also operates as a BBQ restaurant, because we will be back to celebrate our first anniversary :)

If you're in need of planning services & Jaclyn is accepting clients, book with her. She was so helpful in making our day cohesive, recommending additional vendors, and just generally being a friend throughout the whole process. Southern comfort wedding food!

The Exchange was a vital part of our wedding from our food to our wedding planner. First of all the food was hands down, amazing! We had a BBQ buffet with pulled pork, chopped brisket, fall vegetables, mac & cheese, beans and the fixings-- our guests couldn't stop raving about how fabulous the food was, in addition to our biscuit bar at cocktail hour (HOW FUN)!!!

Wedding planner-- Although Hannah is no longer at The Exchange, we found and hired her through The Exchange as she was initially in charge of our catering. She held our tasting and I am so thankful that even after she opened up her own company (GO GIRL BOSS https://www.hannahroseeventdesign.com/) she still finished out our contract for our October 2022 wedding, almost a year after she had opened her independent company. This goes to show the level of service you get from Hannah. We never once felt like we were "a client that's job just had to be finished" or that we were any different as an Exchange client compared to her new clients. Now for our service that we received as Hannah being our wedding planner:
How to put Hannah into a written review…There are not enough positive words to describe her. She went above and beyond for us before we even booked her (when she was just in charge of catering). She was my right hand throughout the past year and a half, our most valuable vendor booked, and my husband says she probably saved our marriage before we were married lol!! She was extremely responsive and never left me waiting, no matter the time of day. Hannah became so much more than a wedding planner and coordinator, she turned into a sweet, lifelong friend. She puts her heart and soul into her work and you can feel the love she has for weddings every step of the way. Booking Hannah was the best decision my husband and I made in our wedding planning process— thank you from the bottom of our hearts for everything!!

They are amazing!

The Exchange is the absolute best! We had the pleasure of working with Jaclyn and Carol Anne and I swear it was like having 2 extra coordinators helping with everything. They were incredibly organized throughout the process, providing any advice I requested as well. My bridal nerves were set at ease during the last walk through when we sat down together to outline the day. They had an answer to whatever issue that might arise. They were both super professional, but also incredibly kind. Now to the food itself - not a single guest went away without complimenting me on the food. Folks raved about the biscuit bar and how tender the meats were, the appetizers, etc. I truly don’t think you can go wrong with this choice. They even packed a to-go box for me and my husband! I wish I took more pictures of the food - but we ate it too quickly!

The Best of the Best!

We could not recommend Exchange Events & Catering more highly! We used them for our wedding catering, but have no doubt of their planning capabilities as well. Jaclyn in particular was invaluable - her knowledge of weddings in general but also of the local wedding vendors was a huge resource. Any question or request we had or that we were worried could be an issue was addressed or answered without a blink of an eye. When we were debating what other desserts to include, she not only recommended a few other vendors but also knew who was out of the office on vacation and may take a few days to respond.

For our wedding itself, both the food and the service were fantastic. Multiple guests went out of our way to tell us how delicious the food was! And the team seemed to always be there when we would look around for someone, and always with a smile.

The entire planning process with Exchange, from the menu selection, tasting, and securing of rentals, to the event setup/breakdown, was smooth and easier than we ever imagined it could be. When you book them, you are not only getting delicious food for your event, but also invaluable years of experience and familiarity with the Charlottesville wedding community. We highly, highly recommend!

Best Catering & Event Planning!

Could not be happier with our selection of using Exchange catering and event planning, who came highlight recommended from our wedding venue (Keswick)! The food options for your event are endless, and all so delicious, which make it difficult to just pick a limited number! Special shout out to our coordinator Hannah Dubit, who came up with great ideas and recommendations for our horderves and dishes as well as unique specialty cocktails! The service during our wedding was excellent; it was timely and professional, and the food was AMAZING! A MUST For Catering/Planning!!!

Must start out our review to share that our coordinator Hannah Dubit was absolutely incredible & I honestly could not imagine planning our wedding, or having the day go as smooth as it did without her! Between vendor recommendations, answering any of all of my (and my mom's) questions, providing life advice/calming my nerves of planning a wedding during covid-19 times, helping us last minute find a new vendor for transportation when ours canceled very close to the wedding date...I could go on forever. Hannah is so sweet & responsive & organized, and I would 1000% recommend having her as your wedding coordinator! On to the catering, it was out of this world! We had heard great reviews from colleagues and loved what we saw on the sample menu! They were very flexible in making small menu changes, and we officially fell in love at our tasting & couldn't wait for the wedding day to try everything again! Post-wedding, we have heard nothing but amazing reviews from our family & friends, with cocktail hour especially being a huge hit! (The lobster rolls & hushpuppies were huge favorites!) We can't recommend them enough!!!

She made the whole process so enjoyable. Throughout the planning process she was very organized and kept me on track. I was so thankful to have her to reduce any stress and give advice or suggestions when needed. The day of the wedding went so smoothly. Everything was perfect! We struggled picking our menu items because we loved everything at the menu tasting. The food was amazing! All of our guests raved about how much they enjoyed the food. Absolutely Incredible Experience from Start to Finish

Just about every guest at our wedding raved about the how delicious the food was, and they all appreciated the hard work of the bartenders and waitstaff. You can't go wrong with Exhange Events. Book Exchange Events!

Exchange Events and Catering was a fantastic choice for our wedding! The initial tasting was such an amazing experience. They allowed for me, my bride-to-be, and both of our sets of parents to come. We picked several options for each course to sample. They offered recommendations based on our interests, what was fresh given the season, and our price point. When we asked if we could do a certain dish a little differently, they happily obliged. It was a collaborative process where they offered their expertise and accounted for our own personal tastes. One such example was the creation of our signature drinks. When we mentioned we had two cats, one named Nash after Nashville and one named Charlotte after Charlottesville, we brainstormed different drinks that would live up to their names. The results was a Lemon Blackberry Old Fashion for Nash and a Thyme White Wine Sangria for Charlotte.
The night of the rehearsal dinner and our wedding, the catering team really shined. We had BBQ Exchange, brick and mortar restaurant, for our rehearsal dinner and Exchange Events for the wedding. We had several of the staff members both nights though. The were fantastic both nights. They were so incredibly flexible with our schedule, even when we threw them some curveballs along the way. Robin in particular was very helpful in making sure we had what we need and making sure everyone was having a good time. The food was as good as we remember from the tasting. Some of my personal favorites were the friend green tomatoes, grits with pork belly, and salmon. It was all great though.

Incredible BBQ & Service beginning to end

I can't even stress how pleased we were with our dinner! We did the Bbq buffet for our wedding and they were extremely responsive and helpful from beginning to end, even when I needed to make some changes a week or so out. It came on time and exactly as planned. But best of all-- it was SO good!! A ton of people asked us where the food came from (like I think I was asked this at least ten times), and many said it was the best brisket they've ever had. I can't recommend them enough!

A great experience!

After divorcing another venue with in-house catering, the final venue for my daughter’s wedding celebration recommended (among others) Exchange Events and Catering outside of Charlottesville VA. I had reached out to all of the recommended caterers but Exchange was the most responsive/organized/informative/accommodating so we selected them for the event with no trepidation whatsoever. Hannah was our point of contact and from soup to nuts she did not disappoint. Great communication, thoughtful, patient, and knowledgeable about the venue due to past experience there…I just can’t say enough. She actually worked the event and that continuity was important to me, although I didn’t realize it until the night of! The tasting, months in advance of the event, was a lot of fun, allowing us to choose the tasting menu from a huge selection of choices, with enough selections for the tasting that made it a challenge (in a good way) to narrow the field. Our guests were very happy with the meal, particularly the appetizers and salad selection. As the mother of the bride, I was too distracted to notice what I was eating, but enjoyed some of the leftovers. Hannah delivered on my request for al dente green beans!! The bride and groom, also distracted, were able to really enjoy the food thanks to a high end “doggy bag” that Hannah arranged for them to take home that night. Finally, the Exchange team on the day of the event exceeded my expectations, from setting up to breaking down and everything in between. I highly recommend!

The best you could ask for!

We used Exchange as our caterer and day of planner. Couldn’t recommend more! The day wouldn’t have happened without their team. Food was delish. Setup was perfect. Everything we asked to rent for dinnerware was available. And the day of planner, Hannah, was a SAINT. She helped rebook this covid wedding 3x and kept the couple sane and happy to finally celebrate! 10/10 recommend. All around fabulous!

Everything you need in one place! 10/10 would recommend

Hiring Jaclyn and her team at Exchange Events was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding and we cannot thank her enough. They did both our event planning as well as the catering and seriously, IT WAS AMAZING. Jaclyn made us feel as if we were the only couple she was working with, even though we clearly weren't. Imagaine planning your wedding and being virtually stress-free? That was me and I loved every second of it. From choosing vendors to picking minor details to making sure the groomsmen behaved, everything was covered. Our day went seamlessly and we were able to enjoy every second of it (as well as everyone else).
Now about the food. It's not your average wedding food, and you know what I'm talking about. We were able to choose from some of the tastiest options and create some of our own as well. We wanted our menu to be an eclectic combination and trust me, it exceeded our expectations. Our guests were raving about how this was the best dinner at a wedding they've ever had.
Working with Exchange Events was such a positive experience. If you want a company that is professional, prompt, understanding and helpful then you're in the right place.

Exquisite planning and catering services

We hired BBQ Xchange for both catering and planning services for my July 2020 wedding, which turned into a July 2021 wedding. Hannah was our planner and exceeded all expectations in this capacity - she was able to pick up all of our vendors from July 2020 and move them to July 2021, mitigating all of our anxieties (and resulting in no financial losses for us!). So 6 months of planning turned into 18 months, but Hannah regularly checked-in with us and kept us accountable in organizing things on our end. She was so easy to work with and took so much stress out of wedding planning - from the smallest details, like creating a list of things we needed to bring to the venue day of, to much larger tasks like coordinating things across nearly a dozen vendors. I can't say enough amazing things about her planning skills.

As for the catering -this was also incredible!! Xchange did both our rehearsal dinner (BBQ) and our wedding meal (more fancy food, like rockfish and steak). The food was excellent (seriously - go check out the BBQ and get the pickles) and the staff was beyond professional and easy to work with.

If you're looking for a caterer near Gordonsville, VA or the surrounding area, look no further than Exchange Events. Hannah and her team catered both my son's rehearsal dinner and wedding at 2 different venues this past weekend. The wedding was postponed for a whole year due to COVID and she kept us informed the whole time. Both events were nothing short of fabulous! Hannah misses no details, big or small! The food was delicious and she also helped to coordinate all of our other vendors. I'll be recommending them to anyone I know planning an event in the area.

Decicious food and a wonderful team to work with!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about both the food and the team at Exchange Events and Catering. If you are looking for “fancy barbecue” – this is definitely the vendor to work with (although, they do offer much more than barbecue)! The wood-fire grilled chicken is especially AMAZING, and we loved the option of a “biscuit bar” for a stationary appetizer during cocktail hour! So many of our guests came up to us that night letting us know that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding. In addition, the presentation of all the food is beautiful! Their full-service buffet is served in rustic cast iron servers, and beautiful calligraphed signs for all menu items is also included.

Hannah, Exchange Event’s catering coordinator, was so wonderful to work with. During the planning process, Hannah was quick to answer any questions I had and worked seamlessly behind the scenes with our event rentals which made the planning process so easy! We especially appreciate her flexibility and all the work she did when we decided to postpone our big event from 2020 to 2021 because of the COVID-19 pandemic. On the day-of, Hannah and her team were very attentive, frequently checking-in and making sure that we always had everything we needed. They worked very well with the venue’s team and our wedding coordinator throughout the night – the night went so smoothly! They also did a quick yet thorough job breaking down the space at the end of the evening. Furthermore, we really appreciated that they packaged a to-go meal of our buffet food (including a giant slice of our cake!) for myself and my husband to take with us and enjoy after the reception was over. It was the perfect late-night meal!

A Flawless Wedding Experience Due to an Exceptional Wedding Coordinator!

As the mother and father of the bride, Hannah and Exchange Events & Catering made planning the perfect wedding a breeze. Hannah was amazing and worked with us in all stages of planning to create the perfect event! Hannah's vendor connections were all top notch and her ability to provide options to meet our daughter's vision was exceptional. The wedding ceremony went off flawlessly because Hannah left no detail unaddressed. She was calm, cool and collected throughout the entire wedding which allowed us to focus on our special day. It is unimaginable what this process would have been like without Hannah! Regarding the reception, countless people raved about the quality of the food. We chose to do stations with three different types of entires. The layout of the food stations was super efficient. Our guests expressed that it was the best food they have ever had at a wedding which was our experience as well. Four months before the wedding Hannah and Exchange events provided a tasting where we selected the three menu options and we were very comfortable that it was going to be a hit and it exceeded our expectations! Even at the end of our special day, Hannah and her team loaded up our car, leaving us with nothing to do but to enjoy a perfect send off. BBQ completely outdid themselves

We are so so so glad we hired Exchange Events for our wedding. We worked with Hannah and she was so responsive and helpful, especially with all of the last minute changes needed to accommodate state restrictions. Extraordinary Experience!

From the first phone call we made to Exchange Events until the final bite of food was consumed at the reception, everything about our experience was extraordinary. Hannah Dubit was AMAZING to work with!! Her combination of professionalism with a very personal touch gave me confidence throughout the planning process. Hannah's response time to every text, call or email was so impressive. She was calm, confident and patient with us while we made decisions. Her creative suggestion to serve our meal "family style" was perfect for our reception and our guests were so complimentary of it.

Hannah guided us through our menu selection and we could not have been more pleased with the food. It was beautiful AND delicious. I was very impressed with the passed appetizers before the dinner. They tasted excellent and were served at the perfect temperature. The crab cakes tasted as if they had just come out of the oven. Our dinner was perfect - there's not one thing I would change about it. The late night snacks of chicken and waffles were a huge hit with our guests.

Beyond amazing!!

Exchange was absolutely amazing!! Their food selection was super hard to choose because everything tastes so amazing!! Great quality of food, it was hot for all guests, and we still have people talking about the food even three months post. I highly recommend them for any event. Perfect Experience!

My now-husband and I have been long-time fans of BBQ Exchange so when we got married, Exchange Events was the first place we reached out to. They catered both our rehearsal dinner on Friday and our wedding on Saturday and the food was a HUGE hit at both events (the BBQ, hush puppies, salmon, oatmeal cookies, and the fall-spiced old fashioned were particular hits). Hannah was truly a godsend for our wedding. I must have had a million questions, additions, subtractions, etc.. and she handled everything so wonderfully and flawlessly. She was even super helpful in answering general questions about the venues we used (seating, coat check options...) and providing bobby pins and fixing my veil the day of the wedding.

Honestly, hiring Exchange Events and getting to work with Hannah was one of the best decisions we made for our wedding...and we made a lot of good decisions :) Thank you so much Hannah!

One of the best decisions we made

Hiring Jaclyn and the Exchange Events catering team was one of the best decisions we made in our wedding planning process. The food at our wedding was to die for -- MANY people told us it was the best food they've ever had at a wedding. It was totally unique but still elevated -- lobster rolls, ahi tuna tacos, broiled salmon, melt-in-your-mouth short ribs, and the creamiest mashed potatoes ever. Working with Jaclyn as our wedding coordinator set every stress or worry at ease. She was incredibly organized, responsive, and honest -- there were no questions we weren't comfortable asking. The second we met with her for our initial meeting I knew I did not need to stress about our wedding. She not only kept us up to speed with planning but made for a seamless day of -- everyone knew where they needed to be and when and no one felt stressed, overwhelmed, confused -- nothing. The BEST Planner & Caterer

Where do we even begin?? We had originally selected Exchange Catering for many reasons: the reviews were amazing, the presentation in pictures was SO cute, and they had a PICKLE BAR. All of this would have been sufficient for a 5 star review, but it got so, so much better. When I began to discuss our wedding plans with Hannah (my contact at BBQ Exchange), and I mentioned I needed a planner, it was then we learned that BBQ Exchange had event planning services. Hannah was kind and helpful on the phone but it was after speaking with other planners that I knew, Hannah was my girl. Hannah was SO involved from the very first day in terms of event coordination and menu selection. She consistently responded to our emails within an hour, sometimes within minutes. She was always kind, reassuring, helpful and really had an amazing eye for things. She kept our budget in mind and was so conscious of that throughout the entire planning experience. My parents, MOH, myself and my fiance, never felt like a bother to Hannah. When the wedding came, Hannah made sure everything was extremely calm, on schedule and it was truly smooth sailing. The wedding was amazing and the food was delicious. We heard several times that it was the best wedding food our guests had ever had. We never wondered whether our guests were having fun, or knew what to do. From making sure every vendor was on the same page to bringing us drinks and food throughout the night, Hannah took care of EVERYTHING. She was truly one of the most important parts of our wedding. I cannot recommend Hannah and the BBQ Exchange staff enough! We are practically still gushing from the wedding and we know it has a lot to do with Hannah and her team

Amazing Experience

We used Exchange Catering for our wedding day in June at the Market at Grelen. They were SO amazing to work with! The whole process before and during the wedding day was very smooth, professional, and efficient. Jaclyn was extremely knowledgeable and helpful during our tasting and creation of our final menu. It is evident that her and her team are very passionate about their work. All of our guests LOVED our food! Everyone we see after the wedding keeps mentioning how amazing it was. We had a bbq station along with balsamic chicken with delicious sides. We also had a preceremony refreshment station that was such a wonderful touch! My husband and I highly recommend Exchange Events! We are so happy and grateful that we had them as our caterer for our wedding day

Awesome Experience!!!

Hannah and her team did an amazing job! Everything was perfect! This is truly one of the first times I have been to a wedding that I have heard people talk about how much they enjoyed the food!! Wedding at Mount Ida

The Exchange Events and Catering, catered our wedding and performed day of coordination services and 5-stars does not do enough to describe the quality of service they provided. For the food they provided us with a plated dinner with filet mignon and a grilled chicken breast. Several of our guests commented it was the best filet they have ever had. The Exchange Events and Catering also went above and beyond to create and appetizer not on the menu that we requested. They also made it a point to bring our favorite food (mac and cheese) to the bridal suite for the groom and I to enjoy. They were professional, timely, and the food was amazing. It was everything we could have wanted in a caterer. While the Catering part of the Exchange Events & catering is good, the day of coordination provided by Jaclyn is phenomenal. She helped us make a lot of decisions, paid attention to all the details we wanted and made sure the day of went perfectly. We can honestly say the day would not have gone nearly as well without her. She handled several difficult situations so well we didn't know they were happening until after the fact. Having gone through this the day of coordinator is one of the most important decisions you can make. They will cover up a lot of other vendors mistakes and make sure everything goes perfectly. That being said you cannot find a better coordinator than Jaclyn.

Exchange Catering went above and beyond to ensure our daughter's wedding at The Lodge at Mt. Ida Farm & Vineyard was perfect. Hannah and Jaclyn were a pleasure to work with and professional every step of the way. The only difficult decision we had was narrowing down the menu selection. Everything we tasted was delicious, I highly recommend the salmon . The presentation is excellent and the food is fresh and of the highest quality. The side dishes are unique and our guests all commented on how amazing everything tasted.
A heartfelt thank you and shout out to Hannah Dubit who is much more than a wedding planner. Her attention to detail and knowledge of the wedding industry and process are priceless. She kept everything running like clock work and on schedule, all the while making it look effortless. (We know it's not!) It seemed every time anyone needed anything, before you could ask, she was right there with it. She is truly a brides best friend!

A must-have catering team!

I cannot put into words how incredible our experience with the Barbeque Exchange Events & Catering was! We had them cater our wedding in June at King Family Vineyards and the food was TO DIE FOR! The number one compliment we had from guests was about the food. YOU HAVE TO GET THE RIBS! And the chicken! There are so many options to choose from and so many ways to truly personalize your event menu with them. They sent us home after the wedding with packed to-go boxes and it was so thoughtful and amazing! (You’ve never been as hungry as after-your-own-wedding hungry). The tasting process was incredible and so organized. These girls really have their stuff together. Jaclyn and Hannah would get back to my emails within hours at most. They were so efficient and constantly updating me on progress with the event. We were so impressed that we actually hired Jaclyn as our day-of coordinator and it was absolutely one of the best decisions we could have ever made! Jaclyn runs a wedding like a well oiled machine! She helped my design dreams come to life and made sure that on the day of my wedding I had absolutely nothing to worry about! She also took all of the pressure off of my parents so they could genuinely enjoy our wedding and I can’t express enough how valuable she was to us. There is no better wedding planning advice I can give someone than to hire the Barbeque Exchange Events & Catering staff along with Jaclyn as a day of coordinator for your big day! Rehearsal Dinner Catering

We can’t say enough good things about Barbeque Exchange. They provided the food for our rehearsal dinner. My now husband and I had a late lunch there after a long day of looking at wedding venues. After one bite, we knew this is what we had to have for our rehearsal dinner! All of the food, from the barbeque to the sides, was delicious and plentiful. All of our guests loved it- it’s seriously the best barbeque we’ve ever had! Not only was the food excellent, but they were also great to work with. Hannah was our main point of contact there. She was easy to work with and made sure everything was in place prior to our rehearsal dinner. The quality of everything we ordered was excellent and the food was plentiful.

Book Exchange Events for your wedding catering and ask for Hannah! The food for our wedding was delicious, and even better the Exchange team was a dream to work with! Hannah was our point of contact through the whole process, and I cannot recommend her highly enough. She goes WAY above and beyond what is technically her job to ensure a flawless event from start to finish. You can tell she loves what she does, and puts so much heart into each event. She always made me feel like I was the only bride she had to think about! Talk about a gift! Her help/expertise in the planning process was priceless, and on the day of she somehow managed to personally make sure myself, my groom, my parents, the groom's parents, and every guest was tended to. We were blown away! We did a family style meal and it turned out perfectly! Exchange Events was an incredible caterer but they were SO much more than that for my husband and I! We are so thankful, and recommend them a million times over!

BBQ Exchange catered the rehearsal dinner for our wedding and we are incredibly happy with their services. Their staff was very responsive and easy to communicate through email with (always responded in less than 24 hours). The food was delicious, staff was professional and kind, and their set up was perfect. Since they hadn't been to our venue before they sent out their staff a week before to see the venue. We highly recommend their catering and plan to eat at their restaurant every-time we are in Gordonsville!

Jaclyn and her team at BBQ Exchange were fantastic for our rehearsal dinner. We had eaten at their Gordonsville locations a few times while visiting with other vendors in the area for our wedding and we loved their food. Finding BBQ Exchange was a dream come true. Our wedding food choice was the top priority for us because we have been to far too many weddings with the tired "chicken, potatoes, veggie" option. It wasn't just the unique and mouth-watering menu that attracted us, it was Jaclyn's willingness to sit on the phone with me for what seemed like an endless amount of time as I asked her question after question. She not only was my caterer, she also transformed into my therapist and wedding planner. Jaclyn always maintained a high level of professionalism while answering my endless emails and texts. She gave me access to the wedding planning portal she uses, called AislePlanner, which literally saved my life and was the foundation to everything on my wedding day. She helped me with the timeline, flow, and decoration suggestions as she has done a ton of weddings at my venue (King Family Vineyards). Come the day of our wedding, our guests would not stop raving about our food! We did passed apps during cocktail hour (crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, and Cuban sliders) and then had a buffet for dinner (pulled pork, grilled chicken, and delicious sides). No one left disappointed. Jaclyn also packed leftovers into cute little boxes for us to take home. My stomach is growling just writing this post. Choose BBQ Exchange for your wedding! You will not be disappointed!

If I had to do it over, I 100% would book BBQ Exchange again. All of our vendors were great, but BBQ Exchange really made our wedding day wonderful. Our guests raved about how delicious the food was, and the event went super smoothly thanks to them. Throughout the planning process, Jaclyn was a great resource, and every time we talked to her my stress level was cut in half. We had a pretty traditional barbeque menu and probably could have saved money by going with a non-wedding caterer, but their experience and service was absolutely worth the extra price. It rained the day of our wedding, and she basically took charge and made sure everyone knew the plan and everything still ran smoothly, even though we hadn't really discussed rain plans. I can't recommend them enough.

One of our favorite and most helpful vendors was Jaclyn Conlogue of Barbeque Exchange (Exchange Events). She was one of the first vendors we hired; after meeting with her, we knew we had to rearrange our wedding date to have her. Not only was she extremely helpful throughout the process but she was very down to earth and generous. She was a calming presence whenever we talked to her (which was VERY often!). You could say she was a partial planner during the wedding process. Looking back I'm embarrassed at how much I contacted her but she was also so welcoming, helpful and generous with her time. We made multiple changes leading up to the big day which Jaclyn accommodated right away. I couldn't have asked for a more flexible person to work with. Obviously the food is to die for - I wish I had ordered more hush puppies and crab cakes but then again we had plenty of dinner leftover. My favorite part was the goody bags she packed for my husband and I for the night of our wedding. I could keep going on and on, but it is a mistake if you do not hire this vendor. One of the BEST decisions I made that day!

We recently got married at Early Mountain Vineyards in Charlottesville, VA and worked with Jaclyn Conlogue and BBQ Exchange as our caterer. We visited BBQ Exchange on numerous occasions before we got engaged and had their absolutely delicious food, so I was pleasantly surprised to learn they also offered catering services as well. However, I was even more surprised after meeting with Jaclyn and discussing potential catering options to learn the wide variety of options BBQ Exchange can provide - it is not only delicious BBQ, but so so much more! For our wedding, we decided to serve BBQ style-fare during our cocktail hour - the hush-puppies are to die for! - but then switched it up for dinner. We wanted a seated dinner, but wanted something a little different than your traditional split-plate meal, so Jaclyn suggested we do a combination of family-style side dishes and “butlered-meats” so that our guests could choose at the table if they wanted delicious skirt steak or chicken as they were served by a member of Jaclyn’s staff. This was the PERFECT option for us and something a little different than your traditional wedding catering options and our guests loved it! Not only did our guests compliment us on the quality of the food as some of the best they have ever had at a wedding, but the style of service was also a huge hit! Aside from the delicious food provided by BBQ Exchange, I also have to comment on the stellar service provided by Jaclyn and her staff. We hired Jaclyn as our day-of coordinator which was one of the BEST decisions we made during the wedding planning process. Jaclyn was incredible - she provided vendor recommendations and made sure that everything leading up to the day, and our Wedding Day itself, was executed perfectly. Jaclyn managed to make my vision for our wedding a reality and I couldn’t have asked for anything more - she is simply the best!

BBQ Exchange as a caterer is absolutely the way to go if you're looking for a delicious, customizable southern-infused menu for your wedding. Our guests are still raving about the food at our wedding and how great it was. Beyond that, Jaclyn is an incredible source of knowledge for all things wedding/charlottesville-related. We utilized her day-of coordinating services, and I'm so glad that we did. Jaclyn was incredibly professional, helpful and so easy to work with. Jaclyn and her team were absolutely wonderful! They fulfilled every expectation and then more! We hosted our son and his bride's rehearsal dinner at a farm. They dealt with the venue that had limited accommodations for catering with real professionalism and didn't miss a beat!
When we arrived to help with set up of centerpieces, table and room decorations, napkins, etc. Jaclyn and her team already had the napkins on the table at each place folded just how I wanted them--even though I had not asked her to do that and we hadn't talked about it!
They were wonderful to work, and I would give them the highest recommendation!

This place has GREAT barbeque!! Jaclyn is fantastic at orchestrating the entire event from tasting to the date of! The food was very tasty, lots of choices, the wait staff was attentive and friendly to every need. They were quick with set up and take down ensuring that we were taken care of! Fabulous food, amazing staff, event coordinator Jaclyn Conlogue is phenomenal...can't say enough about how glad we are that we chose BBQ Exchange to cater our wedding. People couldn't stop talking about the food and many people went back for seconds (maybe thirds). We had grilled chicken, pulled pork, mashed potatoes, and some veggie sides. Everything was amazing and we made a point to sit down and eat our fair share! Jaclyn helped us with everything from table rentals and setup, to making sure all the decorations were in place, and setting up the dessert table. She also helped with some of our decorative pieces including the place settings written on a mirror-window. Basically, you can't go wrong with having them at your wedding! Super easy to work with and responsive, even though they are planning multiple weddings at the same time! Love this team! And we always make it a point to stop by for food when we drive through Charlottesville.

I contacted Jaclyn at the BBQ Exchange because we wanted delicious, different food for my daughter's wedding at Keswick Vineyards. Jaclyn took the time to answer all our questions, both by phone and with emails, since we were from out of state. The BBQ Exchange was great with customizing the menu, and Jaclyn also took care of all rentals, including unique vintage decorations. She provided us with day of event coordination of all vendors, helped the bridal parties get ready, and made sure the cake table looked fantastic. Our guests raved about food, especially the hushpuppies, and many guests made multiple trips back to the buffet line. The wedding was perfect with wonderful food provided by Jaclyn and her professional staff!!

Hands down the best catering and team I could have ever imagined working with! I work with caterers all the time in FL for my job as a corporate event planner and have never been this pleased with a caterer before. Jaclyn's attention to detail, follow through and laid back personality made our reception so enjoyable! Most of our guests were not from Charlottesville, so we were excited to share one of our most favorite spots to eat with friends and family from all over the country. One of the things your guests will quickly comment on is the FOOD! And our wedding guests raved about how good the food was. After interviewing a couple of catering vendors, I decided on BBQEx because they had great reviews on their bbq on Yelp and Jaclyn was the most responsive of them all. We had a formal setting to our wedding, but didn't want it to feel overly stuffy. After our tasting (a fun and delicious part of wedding planning), Jaclyn personalized a menu for us and gave us some great recommendations to accommodate things that we were indecisive about. When the big day came, the service of her team was also FANTASTIC. Not only was everything served elegantly, but she also took care to make sure the bride and groom were well-fed (a detail we were worried about having friends who barely ate on their own wedding days since they were running around so much). That food was SO good. It was such a memorable part to our celebration.

When we were planning our wedding, we wanted something affordable, casual, and delicious. BBQ Exchange is all three and offers more than just barbecue. I had guests chasing down servers to get more of the yummy plantain fritters, and our dj jokingly told us he offers discounts for brides who choose BBQ exchange because he loves the food so much. BBQ Exchange also offers plenty of options for different dietary needs. I'm a vegetarian, and we had guests who could not eat gluten or beef. Jaclyn, the wonderful woman in charge of catering and our day-of coordinator, gave us options for everyone. We also planned our wedding from Seattle, and Jaclyn made sure that everything in Charlottesville was flawless and professional. She set up the venue, helped decorate, and gave us advice to help plan from a distance. I'd recommend BBQ Exchange to anyone who wants a more laid back--but still elegant--wedding.

I don’t even know where to start… I have so many amazing things to say about BBQ Exchange and Jaclyn Conlogue. To start, my husband is a real foodie and he made it clear he wanted to pick out our wedding food. We purposefully chose a venue that allowed us to select our own caterer. We decided to scope out the BBQ Exchange at the suggestion of Jack & Pat North (Innkeepers at the Mayhurst Inn). Even though we stopped by unannounced, Jaclyn happily sat down with us for almost an hour. Within minutes you can tell Jaclyn is passionate, creative, and knows good food. She also knows the stress involved in planning a wedding. I owe her so much because she truly made everything easy from start to finish. Jaclyn went above and beyond to help me with the smallest of details. She had such great ideas and pointed us in the right direction when it came to vendors and even the timeline of the actual day! The hard part was deciding our menu. We were so impressed with Jaclyn that we hired BBQ Exchange to cater our Rehearsal Dinner. BBQ Exchange gave us exactly what we wanted: delicious food at an elevated level. The presentation was just as impressive as the food itself, not to mention the catering staff was professional, warm, and incredibly hardworking. I could go on and on but I will end by saying you cannot go wrong with BBQ Exchange. I’m just happy we can visit any time we want even if it means an hour and a half drive.

We were so happy with our decision to use Barbeque Exchange as the caterers for our wedding. Jaclyn was so very helpful throughout the whole planning process (for all aspects of teh wedding, not just catering!), and was so incredibly flexible for all of our harebrained schemes when it came to planning our wedding food (she let me request my own recipes for side dishes, let us make our own cocktail mixes, and helped walk me through making my own wedding cake!). The food was delicious, and our guests haven't stopped raving about the hors d'ouevres (hush puppies and pork belly sweet potato biscuits were insanely good!). Highly recommend!

The BBQ Exchange catered our wedding at Fat Cat Farm a few weekends ago. I cannot speak more highly of Jaclyn and her team. Jaclyn went above and beyond in the planning process and was extremely helpful with everything from rentals to décor suggestions to menu planning. We were planning the wedding from San Diego, so her responsiveness and communication skills were so helpful. We were also allowed to provide our own liquor for the bar, which was a real money-saver, and Jaclyn's recommendations for amounts were spot-on.

We had so many compliments on the food, including multiple people saying it was the best wedding food that they had ever had. One friend lamented that he would be full at some point! Another went into the kitchen at 10:30pm to ask for more mac & cheese!

The BBQ Exchange gave us exactly what we wanted...good, tasty, Southern-style food that was still classy enough for a wedding. Thank you!!!

We had an incredibly positive experience with BBQ Exchange. The staff was incredibly helpful all throughout the planning and always available for suggestions open to changes. We can't thank the staff enough and are still getting compliments on how amazing the food was. We went for classy yet comfort style wedding and BBQ exchange delivered. All around a great team to work with!

We are beyond happy we chose BBQ Exchange for our wedding day!!! From the beginning, Jaclyn was an absolute delight to work with. She answered our very many questions and was so professional and kind throughout the entire process! She doubles as a day-of coordinator which was incredible because she thought of aspects of the wedding I didn't even think about! She partnered so well with our own personal wedding coordinator. Jaclyn is extremely organized and EXTREMELY good at what she does! She made sure all the event rentals were also in place and taken care of, and I barely had to do anything on my end! She arranged a tasting for us and my mom, and it was so awesome :) we love, love, LOVE eating there! The food was INCREDIBLE (I'm still dreaming of the cornbread) and we received many compliments on it!!! My husband is from the south, and we knew lots of our guests would love southern comfort food, so it was a big hit! :) everything from the appetizers (the sliders and deep friend mac and cheese balls were our faves!) to the main dishes to the signature drinks were so, so good! The staff on the day of were also just perfect... so kind and sweet and extremely attentive and accommodating! We highly recommend BBQ Exchange for your big day :) it was the best decision we made!

I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jaclyn and her catering services at our wedding. The BBQ Exchange was recommended to me by my wedding planner (Barb Lundgren from Barb Wired). I admit that at first I was skeptical based on the website, as I did not want to serve barbecue. As soon as I spoke to Jaclyn on the phone and she sent me the wedding menu, I was so excited. You can tell that she really loves what she does for a living, and the BBQ Exchange has a pleasantly surprising variety of foods. She is extremely flexible and highly organized, so she was able to arrange a tasting for us AND do a walk through of our venue in one weekend, since we were traveling from Texas. I received so many compliments on how delicious the food (and signature drink) was, and the presentation was beautiful. Jaclyn coordinated with the rental company and all of the other vendors and was integral to creating the wedding of my dreams. Our wedding was at Keswick Vineyards and had about 115 guests with a family style meal. Regardless of what your vision is for your wedding, Jaclyn will go out of her way to make sure that your night is perfect AND your guests will be delighted with their meal:)

First of all, the food... I still dream about it! The creative and delicious appetizers, the absolutely amazing breads, the delicious and perfectly cooked meats, the sweet and savory fall salad... We know Craig & Donna and we were so excited that BBX was available to cater our wedding. Having great food was one of our priorities and they certainly delivered. Craig has been a chef in all sorts of places longer than most people reading this review have probably been alive. ;) So he can build a custom, elegant menu (it's not just bbq). We also had them cater our rehearsal dinner with traditional bbq fare. Second of all, Jaclyn... she's the events manager and was amazing. She asked us so many great questions and really helped us think through many of the important logistical details for the day. When things went wrong she was there to make it better. Thank you, BBQ Exchange!!!

The Barbeque Exchange catered a Cowboy Breakfast the morning of the wedding for the groom and his party and out-of-town guests. The food was delicious, the people were open to our ideas, and the staff was prompt and saw to everything. I could not have asked for more!

I cannot recommend Barbeque Exchange highly enough. Jaclyn has a way of making the bride feel like her wedding is the only event that she has on her plate. I know she probably had a dozen other weddings to think of at the time we were planning but she made mine feel special.
Everything was delicious. My husband and I have been visiting BBQ exchange since it opened and we knew that was the kind of food we wanted. All of my guests were very excited when they learned we were going to have BBQ and even more excited when they found out it was BBQ Exchange. Even the vegetarians were satisfied!
The day of Jaclyn and her crew were amazing. They were extremely professional and responded swiftly to every request I or anyone made.
It was also the most reasonably priced food that we found when we started looking around and they have so many options. There are options for a formal sit-down reception and options for a buffet like we had. Jaclyn and her crew are prepared for one, the other, or any combination. They even have hors d'oeuvre for a cocktail hour. Even when our choices changed she was more then flexible and wanted whatever we wanted.
While we were planning she felt like my biggest ally. Even more so than my bridesmaids.

Catering our wedding with the Barbeque Exchange was one of the best decisions we made during our entire wedding planning process. The food is amazing and the team is so professional. Jaclyn Conlogue, their events manager extraordinaire, provides so much more in the Barbeque Exhange's services than the typical catering outfit does. We did not hire a wedding planner, and she assured us that with her and some of the vendors we had chosen, we wouldn't need one. She handled every aspect of the details and logistics; gave honest, sound advice when my husband and I were being indecisive; and kept us at ease from pre-event planning months in advance up until the end of the reception on the night of our wedding. Two months later, our friends and family still rave about the unique choice of a barbeque reception and how DELICIOUS everything was! I would recommend Jaclyn and the Barbeque Exchange team to anyone getting married in Central Virginia. We love Jaclyn and miss working with her so closely!

For our wedding, I let my husband pick out the caterer, it was one of the few things he REALLY wanted to do :) BBQ Exchange was one of his favorite places to eat, and we would stop by after doing venue shopping and that is when it hit us, why don't we use BBQ Exchange?? They're delicious! After meeting with Jaclyn, we knew we found the perfect person to work with. She's laid back, responsive, flexible and even did most of the day-of services for us! She was a blessing to have on sight, running the show.

Back to the food, the BBQ was a HUGE hit! We had people going back for second and third servings. We had a couple vegetarians too, and there was plenty of food for every person and their tastes. The passed hors d' oeuvres were delicious as well, (we picked crab cakes, mini corn dogs and corn hush puppies), but you had to snag one QUICK because people were downing them fast!

I would definitely recommend BBQ exchange and Jaclyn!

We had our wedding catered by the great folks at Barbeque Exchange. For pass-arounds we had their smoked salmon, duck confit, and risotto cakes. They were fantastic! For our buffet we had pulled pork and pulled chicken- so good! Their sauces are fabulous and the sides were amazing. We got so many comments from our guests on the quality of their dinner-one guest said it was the best wedding food she’s ever had. We agree! Everything about their staff and service were exceptional! We sat down with Jaclyn before our wedding. She was very professional and thorough. Her experience was valuable to us as she put little touches that made the buffet wonderful, including cute signs that fit our rustic country wedding, perfectly. We weren’t expecting such gourmet food and were blown away with everything they provided. In short Jaclyn is a rockstar, and we highly recommend Barbeque Exchange catering-you won’t be disappointed.

The food provided by the Barbeque Exchange was fantastic and everyone enjoyed it. The barbeque is delicious and all the side dishes were great, too. Even better than the food was the event planning provided by Jaclyn Conlogue. She knew all the vendors and was extremely helpful with any sort of problem that came up from procuring a generator to decorating the cake. She was always very calm and professional. Couldn't have done it without her.
