Working with Sam as our wedding planner was truly one of the best decisions we made during our entire planning process. Meeting with her virtually throughout the year gave me so much peace of mind—she kept me on track, helped me check off every box, and made what could have been a stressful process feel manageable and even fun.
Sam was always just a text or call away—whether it was to follow up with a vendor who wasn’t getting back to us or simply to listen and offer reassurance when I was feeling overwhelmed. Her support meant the world to me. On our wedding day, she and her team made everything flow so seamlessly. From making sure we had a moment to eat after the ceremony to keeping the entire day running smoothly, Sam was always one step ahead.
I truly can’t thank her enough. Our day was perfect, and that’s largely because of her dedication, kindness, and organization. If you’re planning a wedding in Ellicottville or anywhere in Western New York, I highly recommend Sam—she’s a total gem, and I’m honestly going to miss chatting with her. We are so beyond grateful for everything she did to make our day so special. -

Sam was absolutely INCREDIBLE to work with! She is the nicest and sweetest person ever and always got back to me super quick with any questions I had. She brought my vision to life and our wedding day was better than I ever imagined! I honestly don’t know how I would have done it all without her. Our wedding day was worry free because Sam literally took care of everything and we got to enjoy every moment together and with our guests. 1000/10 would recommend Sam and her team! -

Wedding Planning QUEEN
Working with Sam was the best decision we could have made during our wedding process. As soon as we got engaged I knew I had to work with her. We had an initial phone call to determine if we would be a good fit and instantly hit it off. I initially presented her with one vision and eventually flipped the script on her and changed the whole vision. Sam didn’t miss a beat and helped us bring our new vision to life. She helped us with vendor recommendations that fit our budget and vibe. She was always available for questions and concerns even regarding what may seem like the tiniest detail. It was literally like she saw our Pinterest board and hit copy & paste! Sam also created our entire day of timeline which kept everyone on schedule. My husband and I were able to truly be present and enjoy our wedding day because of Sam and her team. They have a special knack for understanding what’s important to their couples and ensuring their day goes their way. We couldn’t imagine our day without Sam and will forever sing her praises! -

Sam Nelson of EVL Events is nothing short of a wedding miracle worker. From the moment we started planning, Sam brought our wedding vision to life in ways we couldn’t have imagined. Every detail was meticulously handled in advance of the wedding and on the day she transformed our venue into something beyond beautiful. When the rain started pouring on the big day, Sam stayed calm under the deluge. She handled it with grace, creativity, and sheer brilliance, ensuring everything ran perfectly despite the weather. Her assistant, Lauren, was also fantastic—together, they were an unstoppable team. Sam’s attention to detail, her impeccable style, and her calm, supportive nature made the entire process not only stress-free but truly enjoyable. Every couple deserves a Sam on their wedding day! We are endlessly grateful for everything she did and would recommend her with our highest praise to any couple looking for perfection on their special day. -

We are SOOOO happy and thrilled to have worked with Sam Nelson and her team… shout out to Jenna who assisted Sam in so many ways. It was a true privilege. Our wedding was two months ago and we’re still thinking about it. We did the full planning package and it was worth every penny. We knew from our first onboarding call that they were the best. Sam is so attentive to every detail, sweet, creative, and superb at communicating. Good communication can be hard to find in the wedding industry, but Sam is the exception. She was always fast to respond and acknowledge our calls, messages, and emails throughout the whole planning process. They were also budget conscious and respected our vision.
These ladies are fierce and outstanding at what they do, and we could not imagine doing our wedding without them. They pulled off an amazing weekend for us. They work with the best vendors that Buffalo has to offer. She also has good connections in the wedding industry to get you an “in” with whatever you may need. The time and work they take off your plate is priceless.
The day and weekend ran so smoothly. We were truly able to sit back and enjoy our most important day. The flow was SPOT ON. Every moment was curated so beautifully and seamlessly. Sam has a wonderful eye and you can trust that she will pull off a beautiful outcome with her staging, tablescapes, and execution. Her designs are tasteful with a touch of whimsy. She also keeps up with the latest trends, so you can be assured that she will bring modern and up-to-date elements to your special day. They were there for us in every way possible; holding our hand every step of the way… literally held our hands and escorted us everywhere we needed to be that day. Many accolades to EVL Events! We love them so much and can’t thank them enough for making all our dreams come true and exceeding them. -

I had the pleasure of working with the EVL events for my Indian/Western wedding. Sam, the owner and head planner, and the rest of her team exceeded my expectations regarding dedication and expertise. We had a multi-day wedding to plan, and EVLs made everything pull together so beautifully and seamlessly.
From our first meeting, Sam put us at ease with their warm and friendly nature. She listened attentively to our vision, desires, and dreams for the perfect wedding and transformed them into a reality that surpassed anything we could have imagined. Her attention to detail was awe-inspiring, and every aspect of the planning process was flawlessly executed. Sam was also so kind to work meetings outside her usual business hours, given the highly demanding work schedules of me and my husband.

Sam Nelson & her team is hands-down one of the best wedding planners in Western NY! I got married at the Annex on 6/17/22 and without EVL Event's talent and vision, planning from Dallas, Texas would've been impossible. The proof is in the pictures - but the joy of the day can be linked back to Sam's organization, vendor connections, strong communication skills, and heart of gold. 10/10, I could not recommend EVL Event enough!
P.S. - Did I mention that EVL Event's incredible work for our wedding is getting us PUBLISHED IN THE KNOT?!? It's truly a dream come true. -

Kennedy Rosario from EVL Events was absolutely amazing! My now-wife, Erin, and I originally didn't expect to hire a wedding planner/coordinator. After a few weeks Erin quickly realized it would be crazy not to have one. Getting set up with Kennedy was the best possible thing that could have happened. She made sure we could enjoy the process of planning by providing a great reference list of to-dos, recommended deadlines, and checking in with us periodically. These deadlines enabled us to relax and not feel as though we were "too late!", or falling behind during the planning process. The day of the wedding Kennedy was equally, or possibly even more valuable/awesome. She facilitated the day as smoothly as one could imagine, and with great attention to the details most important to us. We literally had the best day of our lives and Kennedy had a huge part to do with making it happen. Thank you Kennedy! -

I cannot rave about Sam and EVL Events enough! Sam and her team are the best of the best and execute every detail with excellence. Our day went flawless and that could not have happened without Sam’s planning skills. Every detail was accounted for and every guest and other vendor there could not stop talking about how amazing Sam was. She is well known and respected by all vendors in the area which definitely helps you secure the vendors you are looking for. Sam even spent several days looking for the exact napkin color I wanted because she values her clients and cares about your wedding as much as you do.
She made the planning process a breeze and so much fun. Sam became a dear friend in the process and someone I am so sad to not be able to email every day haha! I would plan a wedding a million times over with Sam if I could. We are forever thankful for EVL events. So if you’re thinking about going with Sam, do it NOW, I promise you will be impressed a thousand times over. -

Sam and the whole EVL team were crucial in planning our Buffalo wedding from Minnesota throughout the pandemic. Not only did Sam work with us one on one to connect us with top vendors in Buffalo, but she was along for the ride (including a postponement!) in helping us finalize all the details to give me the wedding of my dreams.
I cannot thank EVL Events enough for taking the stress of planning a wedding remotely off my plate and helping to make this such a wonderful process! -
