We hired Events by the Bay for our wedding coordination and it was one of the best decisions we made. Pooja and Janette were so on top of everything, from vendor communication to making sure the day flowed perfectly. They were calm, organised, and such a joy to have around. Great vision and value
Janette from Events by the bay understood our vision from the beginning, and worked patiently with us through the process to make sure we had exactly what we needed for our wedding reception. We didn’t want to go overboard due to budget, and she kept that in mind. The arrangements were romantic, bohemian, and colorful, and she provided the perfect accent candle holders and vases for our retro/disco theme! She even hooked us up with a designer who created our seating chart, place cards, etc. which ensured the vibe was cohesive. Day-of coordination went smoothly too. -

Beautiful florals!
Janette at Events by the Bay was wonderful to work with. She perfectly executed our vision for our florals. She brought, assembled, and decorated our chuppah and it turned out stunning. Her crew was extremely efficient in setting up and taking down the florals. We were able to keep some of our florals for the brunch the following day and they lasted beautifully. Events by the Bay is also extremely reasonably priced and easy to work with. -

Amazing wedding planner, cool under pressure
Events By the Bay did a fantastic job planning my wedding. Not only great vendor recs, but handled all the hiccups that came up in the planning process and made it stress-free for me and my now-husband! They are also really nice to work with, great people -

Janette is incredibly kind and calming! We worked with her for a year up to our wedding and she provided great recommendations for vendors and an excellent check list to make sure we were on track. She and her whole team were excellent on the day of the wedding! Super affordable and helpful! -

Amazing wedding planner and florist!
Janette was our wedding planner and florist for our wedding this summer, It was a complex event involving two locations (our backyard in a rural area and a restaurant 30 minutes away as well as 3 hotels that 120 guests had to be shuttled to and from). It was so complex that initially we were unsure if we could even pull it off. Hiring Janette was the best decision we ever made! She assured us that it could be done, and she was right.
From the get-go, Janette was extremely organized and always a step or five ahead of us, while being cheerful, friendly, and flexible when we changed our mind on something or were slower than expected in our wedding planning homework tasks.
Janette has a wealth of experience and a great event planning network: she connected us with trusted vendors she had worked with (such as our photographer, DJ, the furniture rental company, and the catering company for the post-wedding brunch). The manager at our event venue restaurant had also worked with Janette multiple times before and was happy to hear that Janette would be in charge. She clearly has an excellent reputation in the industry! Every vendor we hired upon her recommendation did excellent work. I would trust Janette's recommendations blindly.
Another big plus for us was that Janette is also a florist and could do all the flowers for our wedding herself, from bridal and bridesmaids bouquets to flower arrangements for tables, vases, and outdoor signs. Janette also has a lot of rentals available for reasonable prices, which come in handy to put finishing touches on the design. In our case, she created a beautiful wedding arch by draping our oak tree in white fabric and adding flowers, hanging lanterns, pedestals with beautiful flower arrangements, etc., from her collection. Janette also created and provided beautiful graphics and images for our dinner menu, wedding ceremony, outdoor signage, signature cocktails, table signs and escort cards, etc.
We went through months of planning and enjoyed the process. Janette is a true professional who kept us informed, in control as much or as little as we wanted to, on timeline, and on budget.
Everything went off without a hitch, and we could truly enjoy our wedding day without worries or stress. It was more magical and wonderful than we could have dreamed of, and this is truly due to Janette's professionalism and experience! I would hire her again in a heartbeat. We had an amazing experience with Janette and her team and cannot recommend her highly enough!

Fantastic Coordination/Florals/Decor for a Fantastic Price!
We hired Janette and Events by the Bay for month-of coordination, floral, and decor services for our wedding on September 23, 2023. She absolutely exceeded our expectations, and we're so grateful to her and her team for making our wedding day run smoothly. Janette was incredibly communicative, especially during the month before the wedding, when she helped us make sure every moving piece fit together. At one point, we realized we didn't have a vendor to help with set-up and tear-down of the reception space, and she helped us fill that gap. Janette created our floor plan, asked insightful questions during our walkthrough, and was regularly in touch with our other vendors. She created floral arrangements and set up decor that matched our inspiration photos perfectly. I gasped when I saw my bouquet--it was that gorgeous. Her staff were kind, respectful, and super on top of the timeline. The icing on the cake was the pricing--Janette has incredibly competitive prices for all services she offers. Her business truly is a one-stop shop for so many key pieces you need for a wedding. Highly recommend! -

A Flawless Wedding!
Janette was the coordinator for our wedding, and she and her assistant ensured it went off without a hitch! She read over our contracts to make sure they were fair, created floor plans, provided a few last minute rentals, and coordinated with our vendors leading up to the wedding to ensure that they knew the plan. It was so helpful to have Janette step in and work with our vendors and answer questions so we didn't have to deal with that stress! Our wedding day went exactly to plan, and we have to thank Janette and her team for that! -

Floral and Day-Of Coordination Services
I hired Events By The Bay for their day-of coordinator and floral services. Both services were top notch and affordable. Janette was absolutely outstanding as both my florist and day-of coordinator.
Regarding floral services, Janette respected our budget and delivered absolutely beautiful floral arrangements.
Regarding day-of coordination services, Janette went above and beyond to ensure my special day went smoothly. Specifically, my wedding was on a tight timeline from beginning to end. Of course hair and makeup caused us to fall behind schedule. As you could imagine, I started to stress out. However, with Janette’s calm demeanor and expertise, she was able to get my wedding back on schedule and our guest never knew the difference. In fact, all of our guest stated that the wedding was absolutely beautiful and very well organized. I only have Janette and Events By The Bay to thank for the outcome.

It was so convenient having the single point of contact for these three huge pillars, and she was super on top of everything. Creative / Professional / Do what it takes
Our venue has worked with Janette with Events By The Bay for over four years now and she stands out as an exceptional personable event planner. She provides professional service with a kindness and heart. Her creative skills are exceptional and she is often our “go to” because her skillset is so versatile and many couples need at least partial planning. From flower design, to invitation/placecards/wedding signs, to rentals, bistro lighting - Janette can handle it all including working with other vendors to create a seamless event. Since our venue requires a Day Of, she and her team can handle that as well! -

One in a million!!
OMG - Janette is AMAZING! She did our flowers and "day of". She really did more than "day of"- she did our place cards - our table arrangements - figured out how the venue was going to look - every detail. No detail was too small.
Including at the end of the party (very late) she went with us to our hotel which was close to the wedding venue. Good thing, because we actually didn't have our room keys - or ID -and the hotel folks were seriously not going to let us in (WHAAAAT?). Janette saved he day (or night as it were). I cannot recommend her highly enough! -

Janette was an amazing month and day of wedding planner! She listened to us, managed all our vendors, decorated our wedding while staying in budget, and many of the guests let us know they really liked her as well! Would recommend in a heartbeat. -

Do not hire Janette
We hired Janette her for month of coordination had to fire her 4 days before our wedding. It was an excellent decision for a few reasons:
1) she only had to reach out to 5 vendors for a month of coordination package and only days away from our wedding had not connected with them all, including our ceremony location. The most proactive work she did was reaching out to the 3 vendors she had contacted to tell them she was no longer working our wedding.
2) Was rude and performative (but usually not helpful) when she did respond to any communication from us or our vendors. Once we fired her, our vendors that knew her said they had had horrible experiences with her in the past or she didn't show.
3) has been accused of embezzlement by a former employer (https://westsideobserver.com/pdfs/WSO-Apr19.pdf)
4) Sent us receipts that weren't for our wedding and tried to overcharge us for items that were so low quality we couldn't even use them.
5) collected half her money upfront, didn't fulfill her contractual obligations and then refused to refund us her contract fee when we offered to pay her for the few hours she had spent on calls instead.
6) I'd direct anyone who is considering hiring her to look at the 1 star reviews on the Forest Hills Yelp page that specifically call her out by name (https://www.yelp.com/biz/forest-hill-association-san-francisco-3?osq=Forest+Hill+Association&rr=1#reviews). -

Save yourself some time and don't bother
We had our wedding coordinated by Janette at the end of August in 2024. If you are OK with the following (which all happened to us) then please feel free to move forward with her services:
- Not showing up to the rehearsal even though you told her verbally and in writing multiple times. (she forgot, oops!)
- Insulting your loved ones on the day of your wedding (at least 4 people were offended by her actions and comments, which she admitted herself that “she was appalled at her own behavior”
- Leaving at 6pm after showing up at 3pm and not saying goodbye to anyone except her assistants. We had to find out she left after the fact. We were taking photos near the entrance and she notified us our first dance would be in 10 min and then promptly got in a car without another word and drove off.
- Changing your shared wedding timeline document (google sheets) without communicating those changes so that you are left wondering where she is on the day-of. She changed her arrival time from 2pm to 3pm without any notice to us, the day before she forgot to attend the rehearsal.
-Asking for full payment despite all of the above!
I’d be happy to share more detail if you are considering her services! We truly believe no one deserves to be treated like this on their special day and Janette just hides behind her vague terms and conditions to demand full payment even when she knows she did a horrible job! -
