Amazing experience
Worked with Beth, had an amazing time, I gave her a description over text what I was looking for and she found the perfect dress for me! We altered it a little by adding an extra sparkle later and the cap sleeves and the hem for my 5’4” self. I could trust them with my dress and knew it would be taken good care of!-

It took me a little bit to find the perfect wedding dress. This was the last place I looked because it was further my house, but my mom bought her wedding dress at Evaline's Bridal way back when and thought I should go in and take a look. I feel in love with the second dress I put on! It was so unique and fit my personality!! I absolutely loved the selection of dresses available at Evaline's and everyone that works there is fantastic!! We had wonderful service from the initial appointment, to going into visit my dress, to alterations, and the final pickup. I couldn't have been happier with my dress and everyone at Evaline's Bridal! -

Had a WONDERFUL experience with Evalines! We mostly worked with Rachel and Lori and they were so accommodating and helpful. They were so friendly and did everything possible to make sure we were happy and satisfied with everything. They even custom ordered a veil for me. Their new store is beautiful and I definitely recommend looking for your dress here :) -

Every single staff member at Evaline's Bridal has been professional, courteous, supportive, friendly and caring throughout the entire process of selecting my dress, to making payments, to choosing accessories and handling my fittings. It has been a fantastic experience. They have kept me posted on special events and bridal shows, and I have been able to follow them and interact with them on Pinterest and Facebook. I would highly recommend Evaline's Bridal to anyone who is getting married or needs a formal gown for prom or another event. -

Choosing a dress from Evaline's was one of the best choices I made for my wedding! I walked in with an idea in my mind, but they had me try on something different and I loved it! First dress! My mother in law purchased her dress from here as well! They were great to work with when it came to alterations as well! Evaline's was great and I will go back any chance I get! -

My wedding dress was absolutely perfect! Joy (who no longer works there) helped me find the best dress, veil, and headpiece to fit my style and personality. My groom, my family, and my friends could not tell me enough how beautiful they thought my dress and veil were. I felt like an "old world Italian princess." The alterations were also perfect - my dress fit like a glove! -

My entire bridal party went to Evaline's Bridal for our wedding. I was searching for a specific dress for my bridesmaids and Evaline's had it there. Lori and her staff helped me through the entire process from ordering to alterations. I called almost every week with questions because I was one of those brides who worried about everyhing....and they were always so nice and took care of me! They really cared about our wedding day and I was extremely happy with the quality of service and caring staff. No other shops in the area had the selection of gowns like Evaline's Bridal and I definitely reccomend it to all future brides! -

I had gone to many different bridal stores with a specific look in mind for my wedding dress. After trying on multiple dresses at many different stores, I could not find what I was looking for. I went to Evaline's and started working with Joy. I had tried on 2 dresses that I had picked out, but nothing had caught my interest. Joy offered to pick one after I told her what I was looking for and low and behold the one she picked was THE dress. I cant thank Joy and the staff enough for their help in finding me my dream dress. I can't wait to wear it on my wedding day!! -

I had an awesome experience at Evaline's Bridal! I purchased my dress, my bridesmaids dresses, the tuxes, and the mother's dresses there. I was treated with respect and kindness, and no one that I saw in the store ever appeared to have a problem with the sales associates. The girls there were fantastic to work with, and they even helped me pick out the jewelery that I gave my Bridesmaids as their present. I also rented chair covers and sashes from there, and they looked perfect! There wasn't a winkle or piece of dirt on them. I was so impressed with the seervice that I received that I will surely recomend Evaline's to anyone I know that is getting married. -

I love working with the girls at Evaline's Bridal. Tiffany, Angie, Claudia, Ruthann, Chelsea, and Lori have all been a huge help to me, my mother, my bridesmaids, and everyone else involved in my wedding. I have been in three weddings, and each of the bridal parties have purchased their wedding dresses and bridemaids dresses at Evaline's. I have read some of the reviews on this site, and I have never had any of the problems as these people. The girls there told me that I had to make monthly payments and I always recieved letters if I didn't make a payment by the first of the month. For one of the weddings I was in, I went out of town for two weeks prior to the wedding. When I got back into town there was one week left until the wedding. All of my alterations were done very quickly and looked perfect. They girls were very helpful and worked around my schedule. I was just married and my dress as well as my bridesmaids dresses all looked perfect. I also had my wedding planned by the consultant that they recomended and she was fantastic. She took care of all of my problems and I was stress free on my wedding day. I am so pleased with all of the work that they have done for me. I would recomend Evaline's to everyone because all of the girls are so sweet and honest that when you go there it feels like you are around close friends. THANKS LADIES! I'll see you soon!! -

I found my wedding gown at Evaline's, and I knew it was the one! I had looked a several places that had pressured me into buying their gowns, but when I walked into Evaline's, I felt no pressure at all. I actually went in after work one day just curious to see what I could find because I just started my wedding gown search, and to my surprise, I found my gown! Joy was absolutely wonderful, as well as Jade. They made me feel so special. It was a very positive experience. I also had my bridesmaids dresses ordered from them as well, which I was happy with so we would all get our dresses from the same store, and it made it much easier for my girls to go and get their measurements taken. I feel like the girls are family, and they are so wonderful. Although it can be stressful at times planning a wedding, the girls always make me feel comfortable and never like I'm a bother to them or a crazy bride!! :) :) Love them! Can't wait til my dress comes in May! -

Evaline's carries so many gorgeous dresses at various prices. My dress was perfect. My only issue was with one saleswoman who made a few rude comments during my fittings. The woman who helped me pick my dress and most of the girls were incredibly friendly and helpful. -

They were very flexible with my schedule as I lived out of town and had limited times that I could come to the store. My dress was totally remodeled, straight neckline to sweetheart, and turned out just how I imagined it.
My only problems with this store were that my bustle broke on the first dance so I had to hold my dress up all night :( and I was sold a broken tiara which they "glued" back together instead of exchanging it.

If you're looking for unique dresses, this is a good place to go. I did have a couple of communication problems with the girls at first but when Lori realized I wasn't happy with my experience at her store, she contacted me and did everything she could to fix it. They really do a good job. I would just advise any bride to voice issues they have immediately and to stay on top of their order. Both my dress and my moms turned out beautiful and were altered to fit us perfectly. Also, they dyed my shoes red to match my bridesmaids dress and those turned out AWESOME. They couldn't have looked better. -

My dream dress but...
Evaline’s was super helpful with the entire bridal experience even though I found my dress very quickly (it was like the second one I tried on) but tall and/or plus size (I am both) brides be careful. My dress was ordered multiple sizes too big (I did not lose any weight or diet at all for my wedding) and even after altering it down it was still too big. I should have caught this at my final fitting appointment but I’m not an expert and trusted them when they said it fit well. I had a strapless dress and it kept sliding down through the entire day and I had to have my bridesmaids help me hike it back up numerous times. While walking down the aisle it slipped enough that I was no longer able to walk with the dress going in front of me and had to hand my bouquet to someone sitting in an aisle seat just so I could pick up my dress and walk forward. The entire night I was never able to just walk without picking my dress up with me and I was wearing converse so we know it wasn’t a shoe problem. Not being able to walk led to some serious comic relief and broke a lot of the tension. The entire ceremony was filled with laughs after the aisle fiasco, so I could be more upset but I was a laid back bride as it was but I know this would really bother a lot of people. Also they sewed on the sash that I picked but very loosely and only in the front so it kept riding up in the back and wouldn’t stay in place which was a bit frustrating. Again, stunning dress and very helpful staff but I would be a lot happier if I hadn’t had these issues on my wedding day.
Also lots of “hidden” fees. I’m sure this is across the board in bridal salons but the price on the tag is nowhere near what you actually spend and I wish I had known that. One fee for being tall, another for being plus size, another for an appointment for measurements just because you’re tall and plus size, alterations to fix your tall and plus size dress, 250 to add a bustle etc. I believe my dress was originally around 1300 but after all the add-on fees I ended up spending just over 2700 total.-

Evaline’s is the second bridal salon I stopped at, and where I found my dream wedding dress! I was very lucky to have an old friend from high school serve as my consultant and had a very personalized experience because of this. Haylee ended up picking my gown for me, urging me to go out on a limb and try a gown I didn’t like on the hanger. Of course, this was The Dress! Afterwards, we celebrated with champagne and a photo with Evaline’s “Say Yes” sign. I liked that Evaline’s had a payment plan, and allowed me “visiting rights” to my gown, especially since I bought it a year and a half before our wedding. It was very helpful to be able to take accessories in to match the gown, instead of relying on photos. The alterations team was incredible, and very reasonably priced. The major issue I had with Evaline’s is that the owner, Lori was very pushy on upselling. She tried to sell me a veil during one of my fittings just a few weeks before my wedding, even though I had a veil on my head! Some of her younger staff members weren’t very informed on certain processes within the salon, so I often found myself waiting on hold or in the shop when my personal bridal consultant wasn’t available. Often, my appointments started upwards of 20 minutes (and once almost an hour!) late. If not for working with Haylee, this shop would be receiving a lower rating, but she truly made the experience of finding my perfect dress a beautiful memory that I’ll treasure for years to come. -

I loved the dress that I purchased, but I wasn't impressed with the service. I had to pick out all of my own dresses, with little help from the attendant and I was told multiple things from different employees during the buying process. The dress had multiple stains on it when I picked it up because it was on the storeroom floor, although I was told it would be cleaned before pick up. -

This has been one of the worst experience ever . Every time I walk in their store with my bridesmaids to get them measured you can tell the staff looks extremely bothered. They have made each and everyone of them uncomfortable. I tried to make a payment while I was there and the lady batched out the machine before she even asked me if I was going to make a payment. They are not welcoming at all . Last week I took 2 of my bridesmaids to get measured the girl rolled her eyes when they wanted to try on the dress . It was like too much work for her to take it off the hanger. Also the contract is extremely insane. They make you sign like if your buying a house. Also the sales lady there sold me a headpiece and she told me I would be able to return it if I changed my mind and now the lady is telling me something different so now I'm stuck with a headpiece that I don't want at all and won't be wearing and I'm the bride and can't get my dream day the way I want it because they are making me stay with the headpiece that doesn't fit my hairstyle . Not happy at all . I spoke to other brides that go elsewhere and never had to sign a contract and has been able to make returns on accessories. In addition I have to drive an hour away to get treated like I'm not important . -Sheila Pastrana- -

Same your sanity
My daughters wedding was May 24th 2019. The excellent service I was provided while picking the dress was quickly gone when the dress was paid in full. We were kept waiting beyond our scheduled apt at each fitting while "walk-in's" ie NEW MONEY were helped quickly and with warm smiles. When I brought my daughters mother in law in for a view, I was embarrassed to hear the owners answer to "who is the designer of the dress?" "I don't know". What?? And did not bother to find out. On the big day the should strap broke, exposing her bare top. The bustling was not explained sufficiently so it was a disaster as well. On her big day my daughter spend part of the evening in the bridal room having me sew on her shoulder strap and the rest of the evening dragging her train. I revisited the shop and met with Lori (the owner). She offered to refund the alteration costs of one of the straps and a discount for the dress preservation, which would mean I give her even more money. Do yourself a favor, don't shop here. And that's coming from someone who always shops local. -

Very Unprofessional
The only word I can think to use to describe my experience with Evaline's is the word sad. I would not recommend this business to anyone. While ordering my bridesmaids dress over the phone, I was recommended a size based on my measurements from another bridal shop. Mary Catherine was very firm on her opinion about the size I should order, and because it was my usual dress size I trusted her. Once my dress arrived, I realized it was a size too small and called Evaline's. I was told by another employee that I was recommended the wrong size based on the measurements I gave. I was encouraged to come in to see how the situation could be remedied, which I wasn't excited about because I live 3 hours away. The week I was supposed to go in, everything shut down due to COVID19. Upon reopening, I called Evaline's to discuss what my next steps should be. When I did not receive a call back, I emailed. When I didn't receive a reply, I called again and was disgusted by the way I was treated by Mary Catherine. The way I was spoken to was completely unacceptable. After she told be she "doesn't understand why I can't SQUEEZE into the dress," she said she would call me back. No surprise... I never heard back from her. I ended up paying triple for a replacement dress somewhere else so I didn't have to be exposed to Mary Catherine's nasty behavior again. -

Disappointed
I went to Evaline’s Bridal in Warren, OH after attending their Bridal Show at the Covelli Centre in Youngstown, OH. I was very excited and nervous as this was my first time trying on wedding gowns.
Needless to say I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Evalines Bridal unless you are fortunate enough to be able to spend THOUSANDSSSS of dollars on your wedding dress.
When I went in I was greeted at the counter by Mary Katherine. She began asking me what I was looking for in a gown. I explained that I like bling and sparkle as well as lace. She then asked me by budget. I told her it is $1,000. Now mind you I am a 28 yr. old bride who has been working full time and living independently since I was 18 years old. I am paying out of pocket for my wedding with some help from my mother who is retired. My fiancée is working on buying us our first home this year so that is where his money is committed. After I told Mary Katherine my budget she basically scoffed and told me that I was not going to find what I want in that price range. She then offered to see what she could find and offered to put me in a dress that fits what I was looking for so that “I could see what a little more money would do.” I firmly told her that I did not want to do that at all as my budget is very firm.
We then looked at a few gowns on the rack. She pointed out one and told me that it was $1300 but that it would be more what I was looking for. I agreed to try on this gown as $300 wouldn’t be completely impossible. I tried on a total of 3 dresses. Mary Katherine even offered me an additional 10% off of my gown. How nice right? I was told by Mary Katherine that they were all the same price range. I fell in love with the 3rd gown that I tried on. Mary Katherine asked if she could get the matching veil. I asked the price of it and she said it was $200. I tried it all on and I was close to tears.
I finally composed myself and went back to the dressing room where she checked the prices while I got changed. She then told me the dress was actually $1600 and that the veil was $300. Far cry off of $1300 and $200 that she initially quoted me. As I was a hopeful bride enamored by the dress I asked her to get the total amount together for me. She came back with a paper with $2185 written on it and told me that the slip, alterations and 2 other charges (that I didn’t understand) to the tune of $260 were included in that price.
Mary Katherine did EXACTLY what I was firm in asking her not to do at the start of my appointment. She put me in a dress that was LITERALLY TWO AND A HALF TIMES MY BUDGET. Mary Katherine got my hopes up so high.
Reality set in and when I finally called back the following day to tell the receptionist that I will have to pass it was everything that I could do to not break out into tears.
Needless to say I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND Evalines Bridal unless you are fortunate enough to be able to spend THOUSANDSSSS of dollars on your wedding dress.

The vendor that really messed up... Evaline’s
My daughter lives out of town, but I unfortunately talked her into buying some of the wedding items “local” (as to where she grew up). We ended up purchasing three items from Evaline’s and there were issues with each:
1) The veil was ordered in February 2018, but was not available at Evaline’s until the end of September 2018.
2) When I picked up the $190 headpiece it was presented to me, squished inside of tissue paper, and stuffed in a ziplock baggie. When we selected the headpiece it matched the silver rhinestones of the wedding gown. The item delivered to us has a yellow gold cast. I ended up purchasing another headpiece from a different vendor. My sister asked Evaline’s if I could return the item for a refund, and was told no.
3) The major disaster. My mother many many many months ago ordered her dress from Evaline’s. The dress was over $500 and with alteration fees she paid $700. In spite of ordering well in advance, Evaline’s did not receive it until October. My mother had a stroke in September, and she remained very excited about her dress and getting to wear it at her granddaughter’s wedding. Well, the week of the wedding my mom is informed that the dress had to go to the cleaners because of a stain and she could have it at 4:30 on Friday 11/2... the wedding was out of town on 11/3, and my mom and sister needed to be at the rehearsal at 5:15 on 11/2. My mom and sister were finally told they could pick up the dress at 1:30 on 11/2. The dress still was stained, and the shoulders were not altered and it fell off of my mom’s shoulders. Because of Evaline’s lack of professionalism and delays, my mom did not have a chance to purchase another dress. She ended up wearing the stained too big dress with a shawl wrapped around her the whole night, to cover up the mess.
Evalyn’s is refunding the money, but that is absolutely not good enough. Their procrastination spoiled my mom’s excitement, and it led to undo stress for both my mother and sister.
I will never shop there again. I will warn all brides-to-be about how no matter how early you order with them, they will make you wait until the last minute for your merchandise. That they treat you as if you are at their mercy. Now it appears that they are careless too. How did my mother’s dress get stained at a bridal shop?
I am grateful that we had so many wonderful professional vendors, and the wedding in just about every respect was wonderful. However. Evalyn’s was irresponsible and horrible. I am angry because their screw ups were emotionally distressing for my mom. They should be ashamed of their lack of empathy and professionalism. -

THIS IS TRULY ONE OF THE MOST HORRIBLE EXPERIENCES I HAVE EVER HAD IN MY LIFE! PICKING A GIRL'S WEDDING DRESS IS SUPPOSED TO BE VERY SPECIAL DAY AND IT WAS NO WHERE NEAR SPECIAL! AFTER WALKING IN TO A CLUSTER OF PEOPLE EVERYWHERE, EVEN THOUGH WE HAD AN APPOINTMENT, THERE WAS NO WHERE TO SIT. THE SALES GIRL HAD TO ACTUALLY GRAB A TABLE WHILE SOMEONE GOT UP FROM THEIR SEAT. WE HAD MULTIPLE DRESSES TO TRY ON AND WHEN THE TIME CAME TO SHOW EVERYONE MY CHOICES, I COULD NOT GET ANY OF THE DRESSES ON! I WAS TOLD THAT THEY ARE ALL THE SAME SIZE AND YOU CAN HOLD ONE UP IN FRONT OF YOU TO SEE IF YOU LIKE IT! HOW EMBARRASSING THIS WAS FOR ME! WHEN THE APPOINTMENT WAS MADE, I SHOULD HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT IF YOU ARE NOT A SIZE 8 YOU WON'T FIT INTO ANY OF OUR DRESSES. WHAT A COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME THIS WAS FOR ME AND MY FAMILY THAT WERE THERE! I WILL BE TELLING EVERYONE NOT TO COME TO YOUR STORE ! I REALLY FEEL THAT THIS WAS SO UNPROFESSIONAL AND RUDE! AFTER SPENDING DAYS CRYING ABOUT THIS, I NOW KNOW THAT THIS WAS NOT THE STORE FOR ME! EVERYTHING HAPPENS FOR A REASON, SO I'M SURE THAT THE STORE THAT I PURCHASE MY WEDDING DRESS FROM, WILL MAKE ME FEEL SPECIAL AND BEAUTIFUL! THANKS FOR RUINING WHAT COULD HAVE BEEN A REALLY SPECIAL DAY! -

There's a reason that the Better Business Bureau gives this place an F. The owner, Lori, and her staff are disorganized, unprofessional, and dishonest. When you notice one of their multiple mistakes, they won't acknowledge it, and if you persist, they'll be entirely unapologetic, because, you see, it's never their fault. When something really bad happens, she'll either lie or tell you that nothing like this has happened to her in 25 years in the industry--but after two or three once-in-a-quarter-century events happen to you, that one wears pretty thin.
The first problem was the deposit. When I bought my dress at the end of December, Lori said that while they needed a deposit to order it, I could put down whatever amount I'd like. The contract stipulated 20%, and I put down 25%--so you can imagine my surprise when I called the store to submit another payment, and she said the dress needed to be ordered in the next few days and they couldn't do so without 50% down. Great, that put delivery at one month before my wedding.
Though I said from the beginning that I didn't want a veil, Lori and her salespeople were extremely rude and pressured me into buying a $400 veil, dyed to match, telling me "Oh, you're not a bride without a veil!" etc. Though I ordered it with the dress, I later called to cancel it. The salesgirl told me she'd stop the order, and leave a note in the system with the style number and color in case I later decided that I wanted it. In March I called to make my final payment, and the veil was still on there--no note, and now too late to cancel. Remember the part about it being dyed to match? I saw it for the first time the Monday before my wedding--Lori put it in my hair, spread it across my ivory dress, and told me it looked just great and I should wear it. It was bleach-bottle white.
Once the ship date came and went, I flew across the country for my first fitting. I called the week prior to leaving to ensure that the gown was still on schedule, and was told that it had already arrived in the store; however, when I arrived on July 6th for my fitting, the dress they had was certainly not mine. If she actually ordered the right one (not convinced), had someone bothered to open the box they'd have noticed the big white tag on the dress that quite clearly displayed the wrong style number and color. While her salesgirls scurried around whispering to each other, Lori stayed upstairs in her office for a good fifteen minutes. You'd expect that when someone has just presented a bride from 2000 miles away, a month from her wedding, with the wrong dress, that she'd apologize--and you'd be wrong.
The 'correct' dress, rushed from the factory, didn't arrive until after I'd left town, meaning that I didn't even see it until the week of my wedding, and surprise! It was wrong again. The gown I actually ordered had plain lace--no beads, no sequins; the one in her store, not so much. When I told Lori that the gown was once again wrong, she was incredibly condescending, insisting that the company (the same one she blamed for sending the wrong dress three weeks earlier) didn't make these kinds of mistakes. It was only after I sent pictures of me in the sample dress that she even acknowledged the problem, and she continued to be resistant to my demand that either all of the beading and sequins be removed at no cost to me, or I'd take the dress home and remove them myself.
I spent all day August 4th either being put on hold by the 'customer service' reps at Jim Hjelm, or getting an earful of excuses from Lori. By the afternoon I'd decided to take the gown to another (truly wonderful) bridal shop for alterations. When I picked it up, Lori said that the hem and the side seams were done; she NEVER told me that the beading had been removed, and with good reason-- whoever removed it completely destroyed the lace, leaving holes big enough to put a finger through. The seamstress also cleverly covered up one of the holes by lowering and stitching the ribbon belt over it. In the end, I had to have the designer overnight new lace, because none of the existing lace could be salvaged; the belt, which gapped a half-inch around the zipper, was so badly stitched that it had to be replaced with new ribbon as well.
The only thing that saved me was taking the dress from her store--and in the end, it still wasn't perfect, because there was just no time after fixing all the damage. And this is just my dress; my junior bridesmaid ended up with a size 10 sample dress when Lori shipped her size 4 uninsured, and it got lost in the mail. It's fun to pay full price for a new dress and end up with a manufacturer's sample tried on by lord knows how many people, with 'IMP' embroidered on the back.
So, if you've read this far, please do yourself, your bridal party, and your loved ones a favor and avoid this place. If you've already bought a dress here, take it somewhere else for alterations. Remember that you chose your dress because it made you feel beautiful, in love, and like a bride--you deserve to always feel that way about it, and there are plenty of other bridal shops in the area that believe that too. -

My experience with Evaline's bridal was the worst decision I could have made in planning my wedding. Everything went wrong and none of the issues were fixed. Every decision went through the dictator (owner) of the business, Lori. It would take days to get a response from her and she would make her poor employees call back, usually with no answers. I would recommend buying a used dress from eBay before going to Evaline's. -
