  Melissa is awesome!

  Hiring Melissa was hands-down the best decision that we made throughout the process of planning our wedding. She was invaluable in helping us chose all of our other vendors, and we were thrilled with each and every one of them. Mel was consistently kind, warm and reassuring, and also was meticulously organized and always had everything under control. She is very experienced, and was able to give sound advice and direction on all aspects of wedding planning. She was wonderful about listening to what we wanted and helping to make it happen, and was also an excellent judge of when to step in and correct our course. Having her in our corner made wedding planning so much easier than it would have been, and also gave us complete peace of mind to know that we were making good decisions and that our wedding day would go smoothly. And it did! Thanks to Mel, we and our families were able to relax and just enjoy the day, without any stress. Not a single thing went wrong, everything was in its place, our vision for the day was brought to life perfectly, and we had so much fun! I cannot recommend Mel highly enough.

  Hiring Melissa will be the best decision you make while planning your wedding (other than who you've chosen as your spouse).
  
  As the groom it was first difficult for me to accept that we needed the added expense of hiring a coordinator. Please trust me, after planning and thoroughly enjoying our wedding, I can say with 100% certainty you need to hire a coordinator. There are hundreds of details I would never have even thought to explore that Melissa guided us through.
  
  You have a lot of options in Ventura County and Santa Barbara County when looking for a wedding coordinator. If you could please, just once more trust me, hire Melissa. I called and spoke with at least eight other coordinators; shared our wedding plans, ideas, wants, discussed pricing and hours, expectations, etc.
  
  Engaged To Be Wed is very affordable. For the services they offer Melissa is without a doubt the best value available given the quality of service you will receive. Melissa was always available to us (phone, email, text) and her decades of experience in the field made planning our wedding a fun experience. I'll say it again, we could not have done it without her.

  Melissa and her team blew our high expectations out of the water! We would recommend them in a heartbeat! We unfortunately had hired another wedding planner (a supposed "best in LA") to start out with, and after several weeks of unreturned emails, calls, and mistakes, we had to find another planner. And we were so lucky and blessed to have found Melissa and Engaged to be Wed. We hired Melissa about a year before our wedding, and from the start, she was SO responsive to emails and calls--literally minutes after we emailed her, we would get a response. As two working attorneys, we had zero time to plan our wedding, plus we had no idea where to even start. Melissa guided us through the whole process we convenient checklists and timelines, so that we were all on the same page. She explained things to us so we were making informed decisions. She referred us to trusted vendors we could pick from. She listened to all of our wants and wishes and did everything she could to achieve those, while still sticking in our budget. We LITERALLY would not have had our awesome wedding without Melissa. After a year of planning, the big day came up and IT BLEW MY MIND HOW PERFECT AND AWESOME everything turned out. Before the wedding, I had a picture in my mind of how the venue would look, and the reality was a thousand times more spectacular! Every little detail was in place and perfect. Our wedding day went perfectly and so smoothly. I was never stressed at all--maybe everything just happened to turn out easy, but more likely, Melissa and her team just took care of everything so that me and my wife did not have to and were not stressed by anything on our big day. Our big wedding turned out perfectly, there was nothing I would change. It was easily the best day and night of my life and the most fun I've ever had. A HUGE part of that was Melissa and her hard work and dedication in making sure everything was perfect. If you want the wedding of your dreams, have Melissa plan it!

  If you are looking for someone to help you make your dream wedding come true! Mel is the girl for you!!!! My husband and I hired Mel as our day of coordinator and we couldn't be any happier with our decision. Before we even officially hired Mel she was helping us with venue issues. That alone showed us she was a very kind and dedicated wedding coordinator. Which was exactly what we were looking for for our wedding. The first time we met Mel she greeted us with hugs which right away made me feel that we were in good hands. The whole way leading up to our big day she was always in contact through email to help us with any questions or concerns we had about! As for the day of...we were worry and stress free the whole day. All my DIY Stuff she handled perfectly as well has handling anything with the venders. Other then the typical bride and groom duties we didn't have to lift a finger. She even made sure we were the able to sit and have plenty of time to eat as enjoy our dinner. Mel was truly a blessing to have on our wedding day. Even my mom loved her to pieces. So if your looking for someone who is caring, organized, professional, creative ideas, calm and very punctual Engaged to be Wed is the best choice!!!

  To put it simply: Engaged To Be Wed gave me the gift of my wedding day! Melissa was of course very helpful leading up to the wedding, offering suggestions, sending gentle reminders, but it was the "day-of" part that really made a difference. Melissa was there, in charge of all the wedding-day details, décor, and admin, so I was able to relax with my bridesmaids, get ready, eat (breakfast and lunch!), and relish each portion of the day as it happened. I am a detail-oriented person, and I shudder to think what my day would have been like if I had not had ETBW there. A million thanks!

  Melissa was the event planner for a recent wedding I captured as the main photographer. Not only was it a beautiful event but I was impressed with her communication with all vendors at all times. I've shot weddings in which I'm not told that a particular event is happening and I scramble to cover it. Melissa made sure everybody was in the loop when it was time for a certain milestone needed to be covered. Being one of the vendors at a wedding I'm privy to all the behind the scenes mechanics. Having had worked with many planners whom I believed had much to be desired in skill, I was thrilled with the expertise and professionalism that Melissa exuded. I hope to work with her again in the future.

  I highly recommend Melissa. We were planning our wedding in Santa Barbara for Sep 2014 from out of town and she was completely reliable, communicative, and accountable throughout the process. Melissa was able to customize her services to exactly what we needed and at a value price. She has a matter of fact approach and a knack for humor that kept the process light and fun and she ended up doing so much more than I expected. She was my right hand woman/facilitator/cheerleader - exactly what I needed in the months/weeks leading up to the wedding.
  
  I cannot speak highly enough about her execution on the wedding day. She was able to orchestrate the ceremony perfectly, work seamlessly with other vendors, thing on her toes and make decisions, and in the evening she managed to swiftly revive me from a momentary spell of nausea/exhaustion/anxiety that randomly overtook me!
  
  Everyone at my wedding was impressed with Melissa's execution during the entire evening and the most important part was that I got to be the bride and we all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Hiring Melissa was the best decision we made!

  Melissa Younce created and flawlessly executed the wedding of our dreams. She made every single part of the process so much fun and took care of every last detail to perfection. She knew what I wanted before I even did and made suggestions we never would have thought of.   I do not even know where or how to begin singing Melissa's praises. I enlisted Mel's coordinating expertise in planning our early August 2015 wedding in Los Angeles - and I'm glad I did. My husband and I did some of the very early on planning (venue and photography selection), but needed someone with the wedding planning savvy to help with a vast majority of the remaining details. Mel immediately saw our vision, and really executed it far better than we could have on our own. What I dreaded most about planning was reaching out to a bunch of different vendors, juggling quotes and bids, and dealing with major (and minor) details as the wedding day drew closer. Mel handled all of that. I am extremely Type A and love to be in control (sorry about that, Mel), yet she handled my neurosis with ease! She also did an excellent job of connecting with us on a personal level, which, in my opinion, really sets Mel apart. If she sensed I was stressing about something, I would receive a follow up email just to check in to make sure all was good with wedding planning, work, etc. Perhaps most importantly, though, was how well she handled the day of the wedding. I really just showed up, and she took care of the rest. Honestly, walking into our reception, with everything completely done and looking amazing was the best wedding day feeling (second only to actually marrying my husband!). I'm sure some things went wrong (or at least not as planned), but if pressed, I wouldn't be able to tell you a single one. Mel handles problems without you even knowing. Trust me, on the day of your wedding, you want to be able to enjoy yourself, and not worry about whether all of the rentals arrived on time. Mel gave that to us. I HIGHLY recommend her to all future brides!
