My wife and I are huge fans of Emma! 5 reasons she should also be your wedding photographer:
1. Emma is incredibly nice and was so generous with wedding organizing wisdom. She helped us feel more confident about the thousands of small details in the entire process, from our first Zoom meeting with her to the engagement photo shoot to the final shots on our wedding day.
2. She is incredibly thorough as a communicator. We never had any question about what she needed or what she was doing before, during, or after the ceremony. And she was even very communicative via email with our moms(!)
3. She is so organized but also so creative. She kept our wedding day smooth by planning out all the posed shots needed, and she got all photos back to us in an always impressive timeframe. But she was also always open for a surprising shot or a little experiment. It made her work feel even more personal.
4. She was a rock star on our wedding day, if you couldn’t tell. And she was a super fun hang during our engagement photo session, which featured Emma, my wife, and I improvising playful shots during a sudden rain storm(!)
5. Most of all, when she’s taking photos of you, her excitement in that moment fires you up more and makes you feel so comfortable. She makes you feel like your pictures are the best wedding photos ever taken. (But ours were, obviously)

Working with Emma Mullins and her team was one of the very best decisions we made for our wedding. From the very beginning, Emma took the time to truly get to know us, what mattered most to us, and how she could capture our story in a way that felt authentic. As two people who are a bit camera-shy, we were amazed at how natural and comfortable she made us feel in front of the camera. Her warmth, professionalism, and easygoing personality instantly put us at ease.
One thing that stood out was how incredibly prepared and thoughtful Emma was every step of the way. She provided us with so many helpful recommendations leading up to the big day: everything from navigating the permit process at the Honeycomb in Lincoln Park to curating a list of photo types we might want to include in our wedding album. Her guidance made planning so much easier and ensured that nothing important was overlooked.
On the wedding day itself, Emma and her team were absolutely phenomenal. They anticipated every moment, seamlessly blending into the background while still capturing every detail. When it unexpectedly started to rain, Emma didn’t miss a beat. She had brought along beautiful, photogenic umbrellas so we could keep our outdoor shoot going without stress. That level of preparedness and care is something we will never forget.
Our photos turned out more stunning than we could have ever imagined. They perfectly reflect the joy, love, and emotion of the day, and we’ll treasure them for a lifetime. Emma’s artistry, dedication, and thoughtfulness are unmatched.

Emma and her associate, Sasha, were an absolute joy to work with. From the planning stages, to engagement photos, to our wedding day, Emma was communicative, professional, and uplifting. Our engagement session photos are beautiful and surpassed what we hoped for. For our wedding, we asked for photos both downtown and in Lincoln Park, and Emma knew all the best spots. We were pleasantly surprised by how many sneak peek photos Emma provided us just a few days after the wedding, and we can’t wait to see the entire wedding album in a few weeks! Hiring Emma was hand-down the best money we spent on our Chicago wedding! We had so much fun working with her and Nohemi, and it felt very natural, not (at all) forced. Highly recommended, 10/10 would do again, and this was an easy 5-star rating!
Emma did a great job following our lead and capturing moments that evoked emotions rather than just taking a bunch of posed shots. When she presented Matthew and I with our "first look" following an engagement shoot, we were truly blown away. It was just so nice to go into wedding day knowing that photography was on lock down and now we have beautiful photos to remember our special day. Thank you again, Emma! -

Emma was so incredible to work with for our engagement photo shoot! We were somewhat nervous at the beginning, but she made us feel at ease right away. A fantastic experience!
Emma and her team photographed & video’d our July wedding and we were thrilled with the results! Emma was seamless to work with and was quick to respond to all of our questions pre-wedding day. Day of, Emma and her team were punctual and were fantastic at coordinating our bridal party and family for all the photos we wanted. She made everyone feel comfortable but kept her eye on the clock and kept us on schedule. Throughout the whole reception Emma was on the move capturing all of our special moments and favorite people, even coordinating a final shoot for my husband and I before she left at the end of the night. Emma turned out photos around quickly, providing sneak photos to us while we were still on our honeymoon and our album & video were ready soon after that. We loved working with Emma and team and can’t recommend her enough! -

Emma is amazing!
We are so glad we hired Emma for our wedding! All the photos, both staged and candid, and it's hard for us to pick favorites - Emma was understanding of the staged photos we knew we wanted (which turned out exactly as we had hoped!) and had great, unique ideas for other staged photos that we didn't know we wanted! She and Jeremy also caught so many great candid moments throughout the day and we ended up with fun and funny photos of all our guests.
Beyond the excellent photos, Emma is a true professional. Her organizational skills are top notch as she was great at communicating with us and our other vendors throughout our planning process as well as she keeping us on track and on time for pre-ceremony photos on the day of our wedding. She dealt with all our spur of the moment photo requests with grace and was very patient and helpful in wrangling some of our more distractable family members during the staged photos.

An Incredible Experience From Start to Finish
I am a huge believer that if there is anything that you should invest in with regard to your wedding, it is the photographer. The day will pass in the blink of an eye and all that you will have are memories and pictures. I feel so lucky that we had Emma (and her second shooter, Jeremy) to take ours. Not only are our photos such a beautiful, candid, vibrant reminder of our day, but Emma and Jeremy were a joy to have with us at the wedding. They made every second of the day feel more joyful and relaxed. Staged photos can be a chore but they were speedy and fun with Emma in charge. She was also so careful to make sure that we got all of the shots that we hoped for, as well as some very creative ones as awesome ideas came to her. Emma was incredible. The photos are incredible. We can't thank her enough. We hired Emma for our engagement photos. I was really nervous and feeling self-conscious. Emma was able to make me feel so comfortable and I was so happy with how the photos turned out. We of course hired her for our wedding. We have been in a lot of weddings, and so has our wedding party, and everyone raved at how organized, efficient, and direct Emma was. We took photos at our favorite record shop -- a place I'm usually intimidated to go into as a customer, let alone a bride in a big dress -- but Emma was assertive and kind and we got some of the most amazing photos! Emma also literally stopped traffic on Damen Ave to get incredible wedding party shots of us walking down the street. It is hard to wrangle a wedding party, extended family, and tipsy guests, but Emma kept all the photos going and got all of our requests (as well as all of my mom's extended list of requests). Timelines and schedules change, but Emma was able to make changes on the fly and be creative in the space. Emma did such an amazing job at capturing special moments, including the little ones that others may not have noticed. Also, the photo "booth" was such a hit with our guests. The photo quality is so good and we cherish these prints! I know I am using a lot of superlatives and exclamation points, but this is all authentic. Emma made what could have been an extremely stressful day and night, flow so smoothly. And now we have the pictures to treasure and excellent gifts for family and friends. -

We had such a great experience with Emma and her team. She was so easy to work with, fun and professional. She was great at understanding exactly the vibe of our relationship and how we wanted that to come through on the pictures. I also had a jewel tone wedding and needed someone who would let those colors pop - Emma did not disappoint!
The engagement session was so fun and she helped us be ourselves. It was truly the perfect practice session for us.
When it came to our big day, she was so fun to work with. Captured all the moments perfectly and she was all business. Her and her team handled my family and friends perfectly and somehow was able to wrangle everyone for group pictures. When it came down to the thousands of photos we took - we had a blast and her team ABSOLUTELY crushed it! We recommend Emma 1000%! -

First and foremost, we LOVE Emma Mullins!! Not only is she a talented photographer, but she is a pleasure to work with. She is insightful, experienced, friendly, and a joy to be around.
We got in contact with Emma shortly after we got engaged, and she was prompt to set up a meeting with us. We knew right away that we wanted to work with her based on her portfolio and her personality. She listened to us from the get go and provided excellent recommendations and feedback. We had a great experience with her and her husband for our engagement shoot!
When our original wedding didn’t go as planned, Emma and her associates were understanding, flexible, and communicative. We ended up having a last-minute elopement and she worked with us every step of the way. Despite COVID and extreme weather challenges, she was there for us and made sure we were taken care of.
We are extremely pleased with the experiences and photos and we definitely plan to work with Emma and her team for our real wedding (whenever that is). We highly recommend Emma Mullins Photography!

Emma Mullins was the ideal wedding photographer. We had to make a ton of decisions while planning our wedding, and hiring Emma was the best of them. The pictures themselves were gorgeous, and we’re so thrilled to have them for the rest of our lives—but a few of the intangibles along the way made her truly irreplaceable.
A few major advantages of hiring Emma:
1) Both of us are teachers, so we didn’t have an infinite budget when it came to wedding expenses, but our top priority was hiring a great photographer, so we had our work cut out for us: we wanted someone amazing, but we also wanted someone affordable. (Plenty of wedding photographers charge more than $5K, and several charge more than $10K. We couldn’t do that.) After our engagement session, it became pretty clear that Emma was an extraordinary value at the price.
2) Neither of us is particularly at ease in front of a camera, but Emma is kind and gracious, and she went out of her way to make us feel comfortable and relaxed. The engagement photo session, which she added to the wedding package for a steal, was invaluable in helping us get used to the (somewhat unnatural, for us) experience of being photographed. Emma is both professional and casual, organized and relaxed. We immediately knew that we were in good hands, and both the engagement session and the wedding were much more comfortable as a result.
3) The pictures! They exceeded all expectations. Beautiful and special. Not to belabor the point, but Emma is extremely good at her job.
Don’t make the mistake of hiring someone who isn’t Emma Mullins! She’s quite literally the best. We’re so thrilled to have hired her. -

It was an absolute pleasure working with Emma and the Emma Mullins Photography team for our wedding in June 2021. We used Emma Mullins Photography for our photos, video, and photobooth and we are beyond happy with all the results. From the beginning we knew we loved the style of her photography, but we were absolutely blown away with our wedding photos. They truly captured the moment and energy of our wedding. We got so many compliments on how beautiful, candid, and lively our photos were. Everything about the whole process was great from booking, communication, logistics, to receiving the photos. Emma was ABSOLUTELY spectacular, we can not say enough good things about her. We snatched her up from a friend's wedding because we were so impressed while we watched her work. She's incredibly easy to work with and super punctual and responsive. We were meant to have our wedding in 2020 but had to postpone due to covid, Emma was flexible and we were so happy that she was able to accommodate our new date. Not only is she a great photographer, she is also a genuinely wonderful human. I lost my mom early in 2020 and Emma sent over a lovely care package and note. Totally unexpected and just shows you how she will go the extra mile. My husband and I are a bit camera shy but she did a great job getting us out of our shells. She is incredibly creative and shared great ideas that lead to some of our favorite shots. She is truly an expert in her field and her eye for seeing things in a unique or artistic way is unmatchable. I wish I could hire Emma to photograph every important moment in my life! -

We loved working with Emma and her team of associates and videographers! From the very first conversation, we were confident that Emma would capture our day, and with every meeting, our faith in her grew. She listened to what we wanted and added her (much needed) finesse and expertise to perfectly capture our big day.
Emma added so much joy to the "photo shoot" component of our day, and fit right in with our family and friends, as evidenced by how authentic the candid shots she captured were.

Emma was amazing! We came to her without any kind of vision and she had such great ideas. I liked that she helped compose a wide range of images - from more artsy, painterly ideas to casual, candid shots. We've received a zillion compliments on our photos - I even use one for my work profile!
We felt really comfortable with Emma, and she was helpful and responsive when plans changed multiple times.

I truly can't imagine a wedding day without Emma Mullins. My wife and I had to scale our wedding way down due to the pandemic, but keeping Emma for photos was quite possibly the best decision we made. She kept the atmosphere joyful, with her professionalism and exuberance giving an even a grander sense of occasion to the pared down affair. She was always in a mask, and we always felt safe and comfortable during the time she spent with us.
And did I mention her images are absolutely gorgeous? Because they are. Posed shots are beautifully composed and selected so that everyone's best side is alway on display. Her candid shots display the exact mood of the moments she's capturing, and have provided us with even more wonderful memories of our wedding day than we would have ever thought possible. At this point, every computer desktop background, profile picture, cell phone screen saver, and framed image in our home is an Emma Mullins photo, and I could not be happier about it.
She helped us plan out photo time so the we'd have the perfect balance of subjects, styles, and locations, and then executed that plan efficiently, while making the whole thing feel like a breeze. I'm positive that a wedding day with Emma was at least 60% less stressful than a wedding day without her.
The complete gallery was returned to us in a timely fashion, with all the photos selected, processed, and presented to give us the perfect portrait of our wedding. If we are able to have our planned larger-scale celebration next year, there is no one besides Emma Mullins that we would want as our photographer. Anyone else would feel like a step down. We are truly proud to be featured on her blog and social media, and can't recommend her work more highly! -

Thank you to Emma Mullins Photography for partnering with us to plan and achieve an amazing elopement ceremony. Emma was an enthusiastic cheerleader and supporter to us along our wedding planning journey. Emma is very responsive, enthusiastic, detailed and creative, and helped us accomplish a fantastic wedding day.
Emma helped us identify creative ways to replan our wedding during COVID19, and was incredibly flexible as our plans changed multiple times. We ultimately were able to get married in a small ceremony at Starved Rock State Park in IL, and Emma went above and beyond and drove out there a few weeks before the wedding to scout out some beautiful spots for photos.
During our wedding day, we had photography services with Emma and videography services with her colleague Carlos. Their team helped us feel excited and confident throughout the whole wedding day. Emma's positivity and energy helped us have SO much fun during our photo sessions. Carlos was able to creatively capture video from the full day and we were so impressed by the sound and visual quality of the videos. Emma captured the colors, joy and essence of the day in her photos. Looking back at the photos and videos brings us and our families so much joy.
Emma and Carlos sent us highlight photos and a highlight video in just a couple weeks (we paid extra for expedited delivery) , and then the full set of photos and the full video came to us a couple months later.
We LOVED working with Emma and her team, and we definitely recommend her for anyone in the Chicago area. Well worth the money!
P.S. Thank you to Emma's husband, Jeremy, who stepped in to be our wedding officiant at the last minute due to our plans changing during COVID19. Working with Emma and her team felt like we were working with family. Thank you! -

My husband and I knew we wanted a photographer who understood us as a couple. Emma was more than we could ask for! In our meetings leading up to the wedding, Emma was knowledgeable about Jewish weddings, something that was important to us. Her pictures were stunning, and her flexibility in photographing our day was exactly what we wanted. We felt comfortable with Emma, and her calm personality put my mind at ease that our wedding would be photographed beautifully!
Leading up to the wedding, Emma asked us for detailed information to help get a better idea of the photos we wanted. She provided lots of assistance, and asked great questions that helped to focus the vision for our wedding. On the day of, Emma was fantastic! Beginning with the photos of me getting ready, Emma was creative and photographed the sweetest moments with my family. On our December wedding, the weather was surprisingly in the 40's, and Emma was so flexible that most of our photos were outside! She picked a perfect spot for our first look, and took some very neat, urban pictures of my husband and me.
Emma photographed the entire event, and I still can't believe the amazing photographs she captured! The photos from our first dance and the horah are spectacular, and she truly listened to exactly what we wanted. We really didn't want many "serious" photos or photos that made us feel goofy, and Emma definitely listened to us. At the end of the evening, Emma took us outside to take some night photos. Every time I look at these photos, I tear up! They are beautiful, and show our love in such a lovely way. The night photos have some really cool features, and Emma's talent shows through.
Emma sent us a preview of our photos while we were still on our honeymoon, which was such a treat! After receiving all of our photos, we love using the website. It is easy to use, and share with our family and friends. We can't wait to order photos soon, and decorate our home with her beautiful work! -

To whoever is reading this. Emma Mullins and her team are AMAZING. We were so lucky to have found her. To begin, she is a wonderful person. She was so welcoming from the very beginning, she replied so quickly to e-mails/texts, and any questions we had were welcomed and answered. My husband and I had no clue where to begin when it came to photos, videography, or timeline. Emma met with us a couple of times and talked/walked us through the whole thing and it turned out PERFECTLY. On our wedding day, her photography and videography team were so prepared and had prepared us so well that we were actually able to enjoy our day because they handled everything as planned.
The pictures and video....Oh my goodness, these are flawless. Emma and her team captured all of the beautiful moments that we missed on our wedding day. The attention to detail that they put in everything is evident. The pictures are stunning and the video perfectly sums us up as a couple. Hiring Emma was easily the best decision we made while wedding planning. Her skill set and talent, her drive, her ability to instantly make us feel comfortable in front of the camera, and her SUPER easy, efficient, and transparent processes were endlessly reassuring.
And when we received the sets for our photos, we were floored by how well it all flowed together and felt like the true joyful story of the day. It was authentic and emotional and it's all due to her impressive talent. She was working in tricky lighting with a tight timeline, too, and she never faltered in any way.
Emma's also a PRO at finding killer photo spots around the city and made our engagement session seriously fun. I'll be recommending her to anyone and everyone who needs amazing photography with smooth processes and follow-through. We love Emma and her team! -

Excellent photographer!
We loved all of our photos from Emma. Our engagement photos were so much fun to shoot with her and very easy. We had an intimate wedding at the Morton Arboretum and Emma made the day a breeze. She was perfect for our laid back "go with the flow" day and was very flexible with shooting spots since the arboretum has so many beautiful areas! She even delivered beautiful photos in full sun! We highly recommend Emma. She is a great photographer and made our small, intimate affair feel special and beautiful. Best Photographer Ever!!
I couldn't have imagined a better photographer than Emma. My husband and I planned a surprise wedding for our immediate family and Emma went above and beyond to be there every step of the way. Any question I could have dreamed up (and even the ones I didn't) she answered and even gave suggestions to make our big day even better. She was willing to think outside the box with us, which is something we needed for this process. Examples: She was willing to combine family photos with our engagement shot so we could keep it a surprise, she made sure to capture us telling our families about the surprise etc.
She is professional and makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera. For the documentary style footage she was so subtle we forgot she was there. My husband hates photographs and he even agreed that having her around made our day.
Most importantly, the photographs are beautiful and easy to access online. I would recommend Emma 100%! -

Rachel Sent on 07/31/2018I can't say enough good things about Emma! We had a 9-week engagement. Once we picked a date and a location, I e-mailed and Emma was available! Score one for us!
We met with her via Skype and chatted; she was friendly, organized, and on the ball. She shared with us initial quotes, asked questions about things we hadn't thought about yet, and she talked us through what to expect. Once we selected her, she sent us a contract and a questionnaire.
We met with her in person about 4 weeks later at my mom's place. She was on time, we went through everything, and came away with a solid plan for the day. We talked about rain briefly, but decided we'd cross that bridge if we came to it.
One week before the wedding... rain in the forecast. Emma came up with several rain plan options for us to choose from, and we were set.
Day of the wedding- Emma was on time, began shooting the details, and took pics of me getting ready. She has a wonderful, friendly demeanor about her that puts everyone at ease- our older parents, my young nieces, my dog, and specifically ME--- I am photo shy and do not like to be center of attention. As the day went on, she directed us subtly or not so subtly, but never in our face intrusively. We took pics w/ our dog after the first look, at Wrigley, at Salvage One, by some murals, by the El, and at our venue. During the ceremony and reception, she was everywhere but not intrusive.
Right away after our wedding, she posted some pics to Instagram and FB. We were so excited to be on our honeymoon and start to see a flavor of our pics. She shared a sneak peek album of about 65 pictures a week after our wedding and they are just amazing. We can't wait for more!
As we planned the wedding more, we realized we'd need her for longer. She worked with us to help meet our needs.
Emma is TALENTED. PROFESSIONAL. And she was just FUN to spend our wedding day with. She captured the most magical day of our lives! -

Anne Sent on 05/14/2018Not only was Emma incredibly pleasant and easy to work with, she was also very professional. We had a small elopement on a weekday, and she approached it as seriously as if it were a big Saturday night affair. She was communicative from the moment I contacted her and never took more than an hour or two to respond to any questions, thoughts, or concerns I emailed her way. She understood exactly what kind of photos we wanted, and she visited the site of the ceremony the day before with us and our officiant to walk through what would happen. She offered suggestions (that all ended up being perfect!) whenever our plans were lacking, and she even arrived early the day of to make sure she was set up.
Her pictures were GORGEOUS, and she took care to take documenting shots of the surroundings and the little details, which is not something I would have thought of. She also processed and returned all of our pictures so quickly! She is just simply the best! -

Lalainia Sent on 02/11/2018Emma helped us out a ton, from our engagement photos and wedding photos and even helped plan our wedding! She got some amazing shots of us and our family in Mexico, including some awesome pictures on the island of isla mujeres for our newly wed session. She scouted out beautiful places to capture some amazing moments of us. Everything was organized into different folders to put the various parts of our trip and wedding into separate categories for easy navigation once we downloaded them. She took charge and got everybody in line and in order when getting all the wedding family photos done. Would recommend to anybody!

Amanda Sent on 10/23/2017Emma was our wedding photographer and she was amazing. The package we chose included an engagement session, which we did last fall, and the pictures were great. She was able to get some perfect shots of our energetic dog, which is no easy feat. Emma did our wedding last month and the sneak peak photos she sent were fantastic (see attached for reference). I do not like getting my picture taken and am not photogenic. She worked with me throughout the whole process and was able to gauge when I was "done" and needed to move on. I would highly recommend Emma, her services are of superior quality and a great value for the Chicago area (where the price of wedding photography can be ridiculous).

From the very beginning it was very easy to communicate with Emma, she was very responsive and helpful when trying to schedule the photo shoot. She was very flexible and accommodating with the changing weather and wanted to make sure the light and conditions were right. On the day of the shoot Emma was very fun to work with, she made us feel very comfortable and at ease in front of the camera and it was just a lot of fun to take pictures. Highly recommend! Kate Sent on 09/26/2017Emma was fabulous! She covered our reception in September, and we couldn't be more pleased. To prepare, Emma and I had two FaceTime calls, and I instantly felt like I was talking to one of my besties. She also sent a very detailed questionnaire/picture list, so we could both be clear on any "must have" shots.
During the actual reception, Emma captured tons of great candids and posed shots for anyone who asked. Multiple people commented to me that we had the nicest/most cheerful photographer. Everyone has been very impressed with the pictures--Emma definitely fulfilled my goal of making our event feel 'very Chicago', and she even stayed a couple of minutes late when an impromptu conga line broke out while she was packing up.
The icing on the cake (ha) was that somehow (this can't be typical!) she sent me the full gallery of pictures 9 DAYS after my event! Overall, my husband, family, and I could not be happier with Emma's work. -
