Tess Sent on 01/28/2018Working with Terri to create my wedding dress was an absolute dream. I was involved in each step of the process, from ideation, to material choices, to design, to fitting (obviously). She did an amazing job of talking me through the design and material choices -- taking into consideration my shape, my areas I'm more self-conscious about, my favorite elements of other dresses, and the environment in which we were getting married. She was always open and honest about budget and time, and really stuck to what I asked for. We made some changes throughout the process to fit my desires. She found a really unusual embroidered fabric for me that I just fell in love with -- I really appreciated her dedication to creating a dress to fit my vision. My dress fits wonderfully, looks absolutely gorgeous, and was very comfortable. Terri also provided a lot of information on how to care for my dress and travel with it, which was excellent. Terri was my calm and fashionable oasis in the craziness of wedding planning. It was a pretty magical experience and I would absolutely recommend her to any bride!

Amy Sent on 08/10/2009Terri of Embellish is an extremely talented designer and seamstress. my dress was gorgeous, she did a wonderful job. even when i called her the week of my wedding because i had lost some weight, she was able to fit me into her schedule and fix it for me. and, the price was extremely reasonable. all of my fitting appointments were scheduled after my workday, so she was very flexible about that as well. would definitely hire her again!! -

Hanna Sent on 08/06/2016Ultimately, I loved my dress. So That is the most important thing. However, it wasn't the smoothest sailing....
1. Communication wasn't the strongest. Literally 8 days before my wedding I was supposed to pick up my Finished dress. That is cutting it way too close for my comfort but that was not Terri's fault, I had been sick and lost weight and I was grateful she was able to alter in time. That morning I got a call that the dress isn't done and can I come later to pick it up? I told Terri that was fine and went to pick it up later that day. The problem came when I arrived (my mom drove 2 hours) to find that the dress wasn't done. If she had communicated that to me I would have been fine (and told my mom not to come), but this was supposed to be "that" appointment where my mom got to see it for the first time, she drove all the way there, and it was apparent Terri still needed some measurements for last minute changes. It was pretty disappointing. She had an acceptable excuse to not have it done, but I wish she had communicated that with me so that I could have prepared better and told my mom not to make the trip.
2. FIVE days before my wedding I went to pick it up, and she texted me to come anytime and as I am already on the way she texts me the remaining total I owe (my 1st time seeing the final total) . I told her I didn't have my checkbook and asked if I can mail the check to her. I realize that is not how things are normally done but 1. it was 5 days before my wedding and 2. she hadn't given me Any total amount until that exact moment. She needed $1000 That moment or I wouldn't be able to pick up my dress. Again, if she had Communicated to me the total Before that moment it wouldn't have been an issue.
Like I said, I loved my dress and don’t know where I would have found anything similar to it. Terri is a fantastic seamstress, works well within your budget and I was thrilled with my dress. But man, the communication and organization was rough.
